it's fascinating how much easier it becomes to focus an enact change once you see "the other side". for a long time I thought that finding "the other side" - a place where one could be renewed by the absence of the existing limitations of their life and live with dignity - could only be achieved by slaving, ceaselessly, until some quality they had leveled up was strong enough to crack open the shell of some other life, but that belief was only symptomatic of the limitations of my current trappings. in the end, "the other side" found me. i couldn't see it at first, not until I decided to temporarily forgo everything about how I lived to meet it half way with open arms- but when i did, there it was!
