ローレン・バコールさんは女優である。
私は彼女の映画をほとんど観たことがない。
けれども私は彼女が好きである。正確に言うと、私は
ザ ルック と呼ばれた彼女の表情の写真が好きである。
私が幼い時のこと、彼女を知ったのはインタビュー番組だった。往年の名女優がインタビューを受けつつ、若い人（俳優の卵）の質問などにも答えてあげるといった内容だった。CSか何かで再放送だった気がする。
私はその番組で紹介された
たった1枚の彼女の写真を見て
彼女が好きになった。
顎をひいて 上目使いで
きつく 美しい 白黒の写真。
ファンを虜にした表情、と紹介されていた。 ザ ルック は彼女の代名詞なのだと。
私はそれからずっとザ・ルックが、その彼女の写真達が好きだ。その表情ばかり集めた写真集があったら良いのにと思う。
彼女の全てを知りたいわけではなく、
私は彼女の写真が好きなのだ。
ザ ルック に魅せられたのだ。
今も昔も変わらずに
ずっと彼女のその表情、その写真達が
私の美の一部として在る。
