“Asked us what?” Vinh bounded up and jumped, twisting midair into a clean axel before hopping backwards to land neatly on the bench beside Zhang Yi.

“Showoff,” Yuelan scoffed. Louder, she continued, “I was talking to Yi about a Lunar New Year get together.”

“Yeah, can you come?” Yi asked. “Saturday at 2pm.”

“If you’re asking, I’ll be there,” Vinh batted his lashes coquettishly.

“Don’t do that, you look like you’ve got something in your eye.” Khai propped one hip against the barrier, having just stepped into the rink. “I can do Saturday.”

“I wasn’t asking either of you—grahh!” Yuelan shoved herself onto the bench on Zhang Yi’s other side and draped herself onto their body.

“Ah, I didn’t mean to—I’m sorry for messing things up!”

“No it’s okay,” Yuelan sighed. “They probably would have shown up anyhow.”

“Damn right,” Khai muttered.

🌟Night Sky: what are your writing goals for 2023? Or: how did you feel about your writing in 2022?

I had several goals for 2023.

Worldbuilding

I want to expand upon my worldbuilding for my world, Cirel, and the rest of the Planes of Existence. I recently bought Inkarnate Pro for my map, as well as "The Writer's Complete Fantasy Reference."

Writing

My writing goals for 2023 includes completing the first draft of Cold as Ice. I decided that CaI is my main WIP for this year. CaI has always been a passion project for me.

That does not mean I am abandoning Flight of the Dragon or Pale Fire. These are secondary WIPs, so I'll work on them when inspiration strikes for them.

I originally started this Tumblr to have fun and talk to likeminded writers. I would love to get back to that.

⛸️ Ice Skating: tell us about a skill your OC has. Is it unusual? Something they worked hard on? Does it ever come in handy?

I'm going to answer this one for the Wraith, one of the main characters of Cold as Ice. The Wraith is an elite shadow blade and is often sought after by the nobility. She is also put in an unusual position by one of her employers.

She has a magical skill that allows her to shift the bones in her body to resemble the different races within Cirel. This hasn't really been seen since the time of the dragons. Because of this, no one really knows her nationality. She often takes the form of a pallid corpse.

The fact that no one knows who see is as a result of this ability makes her an enigmatic figure. She could literally be anyone.

Soooo I've talked about Ayane now let us talk about Luciana! My first concept of her was, that she was the best friend of Ayane and her name was Lucy. But I kind if did not like that. I had a sister in mind for Ayane BUT....I dont know 😅 I like the Lu we have now!

Soooo Ayane! She has this power of some blue flames but they are not hot, they are as cold as ice! It is pretty unusual and it is nothing she worked hard on! Well she trained it as good as she can but flames are hard to control! I try not to overuse her skill in my fic and it sure will find its place and explanation there!

So I've like to talk about how I feel about my writing this year! I feel super proud and I am excited! I've started my writing journey this year and I cannot stop it. I love to show all of you my ideas and I am really grateful for every comment and stuff!
