I just started Race to the Edge for the first time and I'm on season 2 and I love the riders so damn much. Like they make fun of each other and crack jokes at each other's expense but when it comes down to it they'd fight god together and I love it so damn much.

Meet: Ouřa Thorn!

Hi hi I have a hyper fixation on the smiling critters the size of fricking Saturn and all you amazing beans are making me feral enough to post on this site again PFTT- SO here’s my take of the space rider au that was made by the AMAZING @onyxonline (dude your art is like my world rn good job 👍🏾✨)

Also what would I be without a lil lore drop so that’s all below hehe :3

Ouřa Thorn is based off of a Armadillo girdled lizard, though due to their horns, and massive size, many confuse them for a dragon or a wyvren of some sorts (not that they care to correct).

They joined the space riders in their teens, and just never left- doing the odd jobs where ever they could, cleaning, cooking, maintaining crafts, ect. They had no powers to their knowledge, and if they did they weren’t noticeable or activated yet.. and well many crews don’t have room or need for a wannabe space maid. So Ouřa Thorn stayed at the base.

They were fine with this, they would be a little bit of a sore thumb in the crew since lack of fighting skills, powers, and that they couldn’t wear any of the cool uniforms without shredding them with their spines. (Sure they could flatten them, but it only takes one spook for them all to spike up and poke someone or rip something :<)

The world however, always has other plans. Whilst they were working in the supply section, checking out crates that came with make, gear, food, what ever critters had mailed to base had to checked through carefully to ensure nothing sketchy was put inside. Standard precautions, and for a good reason.

One of the closer priests had tried to mail some their followers straight to the base to try and breach and take over it, or to lay low and snoop out info.

Ouřa Thorn heard one of their fellow mail sorters shriek as a gang of the cults follows breached into the docking bay. Sirens filled the air as the base was alerted of the breach, and hopefully some of the riders would be able to get to the docks and stop the cult before any casualties or damage happened.

When the riders arrived at the scene- well. It was quite the scene. Ouřa Thorn always had powers. They just need the right amount of pressure to kick start it.

Under the stress of critters they cared about being in danger from the cult, Ouřa Thorn gained their only ability. Their symbol is the Ouroboros, representing the cycle of rebirth and destruction, as well as the World Serpent.

Over all, it was a little bit of a shock of see a massive Lindworm aggressively hoarding all of the docking staff while hissing angrily at a heap of cultists, laying still on the floor.

This form is absolutely a last choice move, due to its destructive behavior and the factor that it is high in energy to maintain, leaving Oura Thorn exhausted afterwards. Though with all those spines and thick skin, they’re practically a tank for charging through lines hehe.

After the docking incident, their started to consider being a space rider :>

inspired by the lovely @lullaebies, as well as the anon who sent them to me! I love this idea so much oh my god. For my first post I chose to do Silverwing & Vermithor, I love their dynamic so much!

✨𝑺𝒊𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓✨

(Their ship name I came up with?! I freakin' love it omg??? It's so cute but badass??)

・It's always been a probability that if two dragonriders are in love, so are their mounts (or at least ... exceptionally friendly)

・We've seen this particularly true with King Jaehaerys & Queen Alysanne - the riders of Silverwing and Vermithor (bringing this up because I want to show it's canon - I just love dragons in love okay?!)

・Vermithor had always been a more introverted dragon; preferring the company of Jahaerys, Silverwing and by extension - Alysanne.

・Well, introverted can also be interpreted as grumpy.

・The only way to lighten his mood is for Silverwing to be in his presence.

・They were hatchlings together; being placed in the cribs of baby Alysanne and Jaehaerys by their eldest sister, Rhaena

・Vermithor was the only other dragon that Silverwing felt safe with. She would never openly show it, but Vermithor has always known. It's why he's always been aggressive when another dragon notices Silverwing

・Until Alysanne & Jaehaerys were in their preteens, they were constantly in danger.

・So Vermithor and Silverwing constantly stuck together

・Even when their riders didn't see each other as romantic interests, the dragons never left each other for more than an hour

・Both great at hunting, Vermithor has more of a ruthless side; well, an extreme ruthlessness that has gotten many injured and ... killed.

・The personification of Silverwing would be a woman who has always done the right thing. Foreseeing what is needed, an A+ student, eldest sister energy, perfectionist, blonde/white hair, grey eyes, understands the way of things - traditions and such.

・As a man, Vermithor would be the grumpy, only likes one person, anti-hero. The partner who would kill for you. Probably has and you don't know it. But does his best to shield you from the harshness of the world.

The Princess is the fourth child and second daughter of King Viserys Targaryen and Queen Alicent. She is the twin sister of Aemond Targaryen. The princess has her mother's hair color, violet eyes and pale skin. Unlike her older brother Aemond, the Princess' dragon egg had hatched and she was a dragon rider named Starlight. The princess fascinated everyone with her beauty and intelligence. It was no secret that he was a favorite of his mother and grandfather. Among her admirers was Prince Jaecaerys Velaryon. The princess had chosen to keep her distance, if not hostile, towards her half-sister and nephews. She avoided communicating with them and spending time with them as much as she could. Her mother, Queen Alicent, was determined to keep her daughter away from the black teams. Upon returning to the palace, Jaecaerys nearly swallowed his tongue in surprise when he saw what a beautiful woman his childhood sweetheart aunt had turned into. Until dinner, Jaecaerys tried to spend time with the Princess, but someone and the Princess herself prevented it. During dinner, Jaecaerys offered to dance, but her request was turned down by the Princess. Jaecaerys asks his mother to marry him and the Princess. This request is blocked by Queen Alicent and Otto. Jaecaerys is utterly frustrated. The green team will never let Jaecaerys marry the precious Princess. Besides, the Princess didn't want anything to do with him. Jaecaerys will most likely launch a plan to kidnap the Princess and set up a baby trap. Definitely giving this crazy idea Daemon. It will be difficult to predict what will happen next.

Jaecaerys kidnaps the Princess and becomes with her. However, the Princess is brought back to her home. Rhaenyra does not want to marry her son to the Princess. She betroths Jaecaerys and Baela. Princess married to Aemond or Daeron. However, Princess Jaecaerys is pregnant with her baby. At the request of the princess, the baby is allowed to be born. Jaecaerys in particular is very angry and upset. In fact, his relationship with his mother is going to the point of deterioration. The princess gives birth to a healthy Prince and a Princess nine months later. Babies have brown hair, pale skin, and violet eyes. Jaecaerys will go to see his children no matter what. Jaecaerys will get the Princess and his children back, even if it means betraying his mother.

I imagine they will tease nettles’ character in the 2nd season, and only flesh her out through her relationship with daemon, which is disappointing but appears to be the case. Knowing ryan he will probably make their relationship extremely sexual rather than taking into account how much she changed daemon and his prespectives about everything. Its all part of the this general idea they have to rid rhaenyra and alicent of all guilt and instead throw it at the men in the room just to call it ✨feminism✨it started with daemon abusing rhaenyra although he never did in the books, being a war mongering freak even though in the books he was careful about sending in dragons riders first, they will for sure make blood and cheese entirely his idea, streets are also saying they will make him take kingslanding alone while rhaenyra is negotiating for peace and licking alicent’s boots. So i have no doubt that they will erase his effections towards nettles because it would humanize him and they don’t want that, they will make it out to be sexually exploitative relationship and have rhaenyra scream at him for sleeping with one of the seeds instead of being a raging racist who’s simply jealous

You’d think he’d learn his lesson by now(especially since HBO did listen/was forced to feature Baela in that trailer), but if he goes this route, there is no way Black audiences will be a okay with him making Nettles into Jezebel and not say anything about it.

That man is dead wrong and should tread carefully lest he wants HOTD to get called out for their anti-Blackness once again by making another Black woman into a walking stereotype.

And the way this story is set up and with the leaks being put out, Daemon is already sleeping with other women. Missy Anne getting upset with him sleeping with Nettles, but not the other non-Black women will look nonsensical and borderline racist. Not to mention I don't see how they'll drop the part about Missy Anne trying to kill Nettles. So unless they turn Nettles into a villain(which again they'd be flamed for) she’ll still end up looking like the bad guy.

People should really think about boycotting the show(or at least only watch by bootlegging it) if this is the case.
