Every social platform on the internet is trying to banish sex workers to the shadow realm but I can't post a tweet without at least two bots replying P U S S Y I N B I O. People are self-censoring sex to seggs and $3× but every other ad you see is still filled with half-naked women. Rightwingers want queer people arrested for so much as existing in the same postal code as a child and are also drumming up a moral panic about how teenage boys aren't getting laid enough. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

"oh please everyone has gay thoughts sometimes" so what i'm hearing is that heteronormativity is so ingrained that a significant percentage of the population regularly experiences bisexual attraction? but dismisses it as something that all straight people experience? this is so concerning are you guys okay

The whole "breasts shouldn't be politicized because the primary purpose of breasts is to feed babies!" can be a fine jumping-off point, but I really wish people thought deeper than that when we talk about the ways in which bodies are politicized and restricted.

Like, why's it that when we talk about breasts, they must have some Higher Purpose? It's true that breasts aren't inherently sexual, but they aren't valuable solely because they can potentially feed a baby. A human body doesn't have to serve a Higher Purpose in order for it to not be legislated against or policed, and I just wish people would remember it isn't always about babies, about other people, about anything else other than the people who have that body.

one thing I particularly love about polyamory and how I engage with it is the ability to form romantic and platonic relationships that aren’t simple and definable as such. I love having friends that are more than friends but aren’t really romantic partners either. I love having people I would move mountains for even if we don’t think we’ll ever actually be together. I love sexually bonding with friends to a point where we interact like a couple, even if we consider ourselves single. I love taking care of someone like they’re the love of my life, even when we’ll never be in the same country. I love the idea of being a platonic rock in someone’s life, someone they come back to every time when their relationships don’t work out and they still need to feel cared for and loved by someone who isn’t going to hold them to the same standards a romantic partner will. I love telling my friends I love them. I love falling in love with my friends. I love loving and caring and fucking and falling and flirting and everything in between with all the people I care about most in the world, regardless of what everyone else tells us our actions mean.

i mean i don't think anyone is denying that buck is into tommy, my main question is Why. what is so special about tommy that buck has gone 30+ years of his life without ever wanting another man and tommy comes along and has buck acting like a teenage girl, what makes him better than every other attractive confident interesting dude buck has ever met?

the difference between tommy and "every other attractive confident interesting dude" buck has met is that buck actually genuinely likes him. he likes him to the point where he can't stop thinking about him, to the point where he got a little bit stupid about it, to the point where he invited him to be his plus one at his sister's wedding.

and buck didn't go 30+ years without ever wanting a man, he even told maddie that 'yeah sure i am not a stranger when it comes to appreciating a hot guy's ass'. he looked he did a mental thumbs up he didn't think twice about it or what it might actually mean. clearly none of those guys piqued his interest beyond having a great ass. which. valid. but he still looked, he still appreciated, on multiple occassions. then he met tommy and tommy is all of those things too - attractive confident interesting - and he is those things in the exact right way and combination that made buck go 'this guy's cool and interesting and confident (and attractive); i want to spend time with him and i want to be near him and i want his attention' and he didn't even conciously know why until tommy kissed him. and then everything fell into place and he understood himself a little bit (or a lot) better.

what's so special about tommy, aside from everything that makes him this kind gentle patient (but also teasing) man, and in comparison to 'every other guy', is that buck likes him. he likes him and he feels safe enough with him to want him with him on this new journey he's embarking on. that's the difference. and that's a good enough answer to 'why now' and 'why tommy' for me.

hmm... had to think about this for a while and talk about it with co-author, but here's what we got. we mostly base this stuff on how plausible it is in show/if there's evidence for it. with a dash of personal experience. This only applies to residuum, btw. I have different personal headcanons for these characters outside the comic.

april: lesbian. this is mostly based off of the fact that most aprils get with their caseys & the comment she said to dale. which could be taken as disinterest in dale specifically, but she seemed more concerned with impressing that popular girl earlier and that reads as more... saphic, i suppose. or at the very least homoromantic.

raph: raph is just raph. we look at him and basically just *tv static*. go crazy. all we got is jokes or stuff that has too little evidence to support. so, yeah, he's whatever you want him to be i guess?

leo: trans. already said my reason in the other post. also, gay. if gay were a power source he could power the entirety of the united states for five months straight without a single power outage. failing power grid notwithstanding (< thats the actual word. its supposed to be mushed together like that. wack.).

donnie: as much as i'd like him to be ace/aro spectrum rep, he just doesn't have the evidence in show for us to apply it to him in this comic. it's funny, for being hc as ace so often he sure is the most outwardly romantic/sexual turtle in the show lmao. one! cherry: "you're so cute, but you're so mean! why do i always go for your type?" two! astrogirl??
