every so often i get the intense urge to write some kind of story about either angels or dragons but then remember i don't have any fucking clue what i'd actually write about, just a loose collection of characters and worldbuilding and speculative biology/character design ideas. they need to add the shinji chair emoji in the next update i need it rn.

I think s9 human Cas should’ve died for a little bit and actually made it to heaven and we should’ve gotten to see his very best memories, which consists of random peaceful moments in history mixed with the times spent with his friends, his chosen family, with his Dean. The main one being in purgatory. The liveliness of a day in a forest on earth that Castiel was tasked to guard thousands of years ago contrasted with the eerie silence of a night in purgatory watching over Dean while protecting him from the various beasts lurking around. The little moments of peace and happiness Cas was able to find in both situations that makes up parts of his heaven. And I think Dean should’ve seen said heaven and remembered how it was the night before Cas let go on that cliff in front of the portal and thought about how Cas never planned to keep that moment, that experience being with Dean that he’s just realizing Cas must’ve loved so much if it made it to his heaven. And how back then Cas wanted to die but now he’s actually dead. And I think Dean should’ve lost his shit a little.

girl in the fireplace is so funny to me. just seeing different people's reactions (and mine) to it. like, here's how I break it down:

if you love rose tyler and timepetals but maybe not as crazy for the doctor himself, this is the worst episode ever EVA!!!!! like hell on EARTH WHYYYY OH MY GOD ROSEEE MY GIRL I'M SO SORRY YOU'RE BEING TREATED LIKE THIS!!!!! DOCTOR go save ur girl goddamn don't just leave her so uncertain and feeling betrayed like that!!!! and don't PROUDLY KISS OTHER WOMEN 😰😰😰!!!!!

if you're a bigger doctor lover but still enjoy rose and maybe timepetals but eh it's whatever, this episode is very interesting and a fun exploration of the doctor, if a bit sad to see rose almost sidelined like that. ultimately one you quite enjoy

if you just care about the doctor and not rose or timepetals, this episode is the SHIT OH it's so good it's SO good oh my god yes please dive more into the doctor's fucked up psyche and life grahhHH!!!! ough. this man is FUCKED UP!! YEAHHHH!!!

i could see solomon specifically working with the demons more often, partially because he does technically owe barbatos his life (drawing on some backstory stuff from nb) - though barbatos doesn't tend to hold it over his head, solomon takes his integrity very seriously and so refuses to let it go. for these reasons the angels' gang doesn't trust him enough to go to him unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary

thirteen meanwhile, offers services to both in equal proportion. to maintain a sort of impartiality, she has a hard rule that she won't do any hands-on murdering of opposing gang members - but she will offer methods, provide equipment, set things in motion, help dispose of bodies and evidence, etc - basically everything except actually being there and/or doing the deed. the actual killing contracts are only for independent clients

the thing about me is that I have this need to pick up every angel on supernatural by their scruff and place them into an enclosure that will allow them to, if not heal and become better, than at least to be petty and vindictive in a way that causes less death and destruction and is just kind of annoying. which I would argue is also good for them. let angels make choices where the consequences of their actions are non-existent rather than world-ending. teaches them free will in a safe, healthy way.

man I love season 4 so much.. the way almost every single monster of the week throwaway hunt contributes to the inevitable ending is just so [screams]

tbh what kind of sucks about the villainness/noble girl reincarnation genre scene now is that the stories all just kind of blend together. there's really nothing that sets most stories apart from each other, apart from the designs. (which. to be fair are very often absolutely fantastic)

i keep thinking that surely the authors went, "man the stories i'm reading right now are missing something... i'll write the story myself." but i can't figure out what those "something"s are. it might just be bc they've got horrible pacing. like, in some cases i can tell that they're going... somewhere... but i'll hit chapter 25 and it's still super vague. it's just a slice of life and the conflict in the hook never gets addressed ever again. i don't have faith that the plot will get any clearer by chapter 100. and i'm not sticking around no matter how good the art is.
