Six Sentence Sunday
Long week, hard week, so here's some soft boyfriends from my post-AWTWB fic.
“You can go back to bed if you’re tired,” he says.
“Not without you.”
Baz huffs into my hand, cutting his eyes up to mine. His gaze holds this time. The room has begun to shift from dark blue to pale yellow, and I can see him better now. He’s more grey than usual, and his eyes are shadowed.
We fell asleep together last night, his head pillowed on my chest. Everything seemed fine. Normal.
I bring my other hand to his face, holding him, thumbs grazing his cheekbones as I lean in. His eyelashes flutter against my nose as I kiss him below his left eye. Then again, on his right.
“Stubborn,” he whispers.
“Right. I’m the stubborn one.”
I claim his mouth before he can speak, but he still hums against my lips. ‘Yes’, I think he means. ‘You are.’
“Git,” I mumble, taking his bottom lip between mine.

Reader was pacing back and forth in his tent, stress and fear gnawing at his chest. Oh, he fucking hated feeling so exposed and nervous. He had asked the leader if he could go on a trip to Anchordeep recently and was waiting for them to return to grant him their blessing. He had been waiting for a week and his nerves had only gotten worse by the second. His fur had patches where he had overgroomed himself to the point there were claw marks on his arms and such. He forgot the last time he actually slept or left his tent without instantly getting aggressive. Kallamar had tried to interact with him a couple of times by now and would end up snapping at the ex-bishop every time. He hated his behavior towards Kallamar... he just hoped the leader got home soon.

When The Lamb returned, Reader instantly left after getting their blessing and a new necklace. He refused to spend another day in his tent, stressed out and panicking. He needed to get this over with before he ended up driving himself mad. He got bruised up a bit while in Anchordeep but he found a couple rocks and gemstones that he felt like Kallmar would like. He went through Anchordeep a couple times, encountering Forneus some time into his third trip for some more gems. The cat had stopped him, helping him patch up and leaving him some parting words before he left for the next room...
"You need listen only to your heart, for there lie your truest desires!"
He just forced a smile and nodded before he kept going farther through the biome. When he returned four days later, he had a large amount of gems and even some seaweed. He got to work on making his gift for Kallamar for his confession... he had spent almost months stressing over the event and now it was time to admit his feelings for the nervous squid. He made the crystals into a small bouquet using the seaweed and had gained permission from the leader to set up a small gem garden a bit off the set bounds of the cult grounds.
He could have planned it out better, Reader would admit later, since he did scare the living daylights out of Kallamar by suddenly dragging him into the forest. But he couldn't wait to get this whole thing over with so if he got rejected he would have a chance to deal with it.
"... Kallamar... I'll be blunt I guess... the reason I've been so odd was because... I've developed a crush on you- um..."
Kallamar had broken after hearing the confession and passed out. Not giving Reader a chance to even show him the gift. When he came through, he had admitted to sharing feelings and awkwardly grabbed Reader's hand. He also loved the gift and ended up hugging Reader tightly.

Six Sentence Sunday
Hey friends. Happy Sunday! So obviously, I posted the last chapter of Someone Wicked this Thursday. And it's bittersweet because writing this one and sharing it with you all has been like, the calm spot in the middle of the storm that was the past few months. I love hearing from some people that the story was comforting and healing because that's how it felt writing it.
Anyway, I'm being self-indulgent today and posting an excerpt from the final chapter. There are no huge spoilers for those who haven't got to read it yet, but this is a smaller moment that meant a lot to me.
When you have a disability, whether it be physical or psychological, it can be such a huge thing to admit that you need help. Or to admit to yourself that while you are indeed surviving, maybe you could be doing more than that. Maybe it doesn't have to be a daily struggle. But figuring out the line for yourself, where you feel comfortable reaching out to a friend, or getting on medication, or finally getting a mobility aid, whatever it is. It's really hard. And I just wanted to explore that with Baz in this fic. Because I've maintained that while this is very much a love story, it's also just as importantly about self-love. And so bringing this around, getting him to a place where he is consciously deciding to take better care of himself, was really monumental. A lot of his decisions in the last chapter were. I'm very proud of him.
This isn't the last mention of this in the fic, but it's one of my faves.
My gaze slowly slips toward the cane propped up in the corner of my room. I bought it a few weeks ago, polished dark wood with a brass Fritz handle catching my eye in a corner shop. I told myself it was just in case of hard days. Just in case I needed it. I haven’t touched it since.
Perhaps there hasn’t been a hard enough day. I don’t know how to tell. I’ve been living like this for years, putting up with it, working around it. I can survive.
But isn’t that just it? Haven’t I been trying to do more than just survive?
I look at it, the embossed handle gleaming in the low light. It’s a reminder, and not a bad one. (Though, it’s funny how easily hurt can turn lovely memories sour.) It reminds me that Simon didn’t want me to be in pain when there was a way around it.
Thank you again so much to everyone who was reading along, or who is just now picking it up, or simply enjoying the excerpts or the art shared to Tumblr. It's been a good experience. As someone who personally really struggles with knowing how and when to reach out for help, it's been particularly good.

Valentines Day Ship HCs, part 3, let's talk about the lesbian group, MMJ (*ˊᗜˋ*)♡
Like I said in the VS Ship HC post, the girls caught Rinku having an intimate moment. It was the first time they realized the VS could have a relationship beyond friendship or a familial tie/bond.
This is an HC I shared last year, but it has to shared again: Minori went to Ichika for guitar lessons just so she can use her new skills to serenade Haruka.
She's not that good at guitar, but Haruka thinks it's sweet and adorable. :)
While they aren't dating, Airi and Shizuku do enjoy spending time together whenever Minori and Haruka are on a date.
MMJ Stream watchers are either very nice or very brutal whenever it comes to gaming streams. They vote for what games MMJ should play, and sometimes they want to see Minori and Haruka put their beds next to each other in Minecraft, and sometimes they want to see Minori hide behind Haruka while they play FNAF. It all goes into a MinoHaru compilation that gets shared online at the end of the day.
Minori and Haruka have matching onesies, and by matching, I mean they wear each others favorite animal onesie (Minori has a penguin one and Haruka has an otter one).
Haruka loves hearing Minori ramble. She hates whenever Minori goes quiet. She wants to hear her angel talk.
Airi and Shizuku still get the "are you dating?" question despite how often they've said they aren't.

Haruka's favorite date was when she and Minori went to the zoo.
Minori's favorite date was Haruka took her an otter themed café on one of her cheat days.
All four of them have been approached by at least one guy who either: believed he could "fix" them and make them realize dating a man was better OR wanted to watch them be intimate (often times offering payment to film it). This often leads to the return of MORE MORE FIGHT! Shizuku, tho Airi also gives them a piece of her mind. Haruka is often trying her best to contain her anger, while Minori is struggling to feel comfortable again.
They have had to call the authorities when people don't respect their space or their identities. It's happened moreso to Minori and Haruka since they're the only ones dating, but Shizuku and Airi aren't safe from any harassment.
Around Valentine's Day, Airi offers to lead a stream where she teaches people how to defend themselves. It's one of their most popular streams.
Shizuku at one point starts to carry a bow and quiver of arrows with her (her own, not the ones she uses during archery club). If people were surprised at how willing she was to just punch someone, they were not ready to see her whip out her bow and load an arrow in it quickly.
She's never had to use it, but Shizuku wants people to know she means business and she's not one to mess with.
No matter how long they've dated, Minori will always get nervous before a date with Haruka.
MinoHaru x Rinku double date <3 sometimes it's in the SEKAI, and sometimes it's somewhere private where Miku and Rin can pop up.
Minori gushes to anyone she can about Haruka.
Haruka also gushes to anyone (anyone meaning An) she can about Minori.

(So I wrote this as soon as I thought about Rocket and Lylla reuniting in Vol. 3 again. I thought, what if Magril had a similar experience? This takes place before the films, only a couple years after Magril escapes Halfworld and becomes a ravager.

White took over Magril’s vision when she woke up. She couldn’t quite pinpoint where exactly she was, but the surrounding cages made the place feel.. familiar? But Magril’s environment wasn’t the only thing that made this situation strangely nostalgic to her. In the distance she could hear two voices laughing. One was high pitched and one was deep and gentle.
Magril: Those voices..
Before Magril could process who the voices belonged to, she could hear someone approaching from behind. She turns around, a brown female otter who was slightly taller than her and sporting two mechanical arms slowly walked her way.
Lylla: Friend… What are you doing here?
Magril: *gasp* Ly.. Lylla..?
Lylla gave Magril the same kind and warm smile she’d always have. Although, it fades when she notices the wounds that harshly ran across Magril’s arms.
Lylla: My dear friend, what’s happened?
Magril: *sniffle* I’m.. still a friend to you?
Lylla: Of course you’re my friend, Magril.
Magril: B-But, that night! I-I.. *choke* I said horrible things to you. I was so selfish! *sniffle* Why would you possibly want a friend like me?
Lylla: Selfish doesn’t always mean bad. Selfless and selfish are balanced. You were scared, that isn’t selfish. We all experience fear.
Magril: Yeah, and look where mine’s gotten you.
Lylla: Magril… Why are we here? What drove you to do this to yourself?
Magril: I couldn’t bring myself to tell you what was going on. If I had just said something… I’d be here right now instead of you.
Lylla: Magril, that’s already done. You can’t do anything to change what happened to us. But you can change what happens to you.
Magril: Why should I? There’s no reason a coward like me should stay. Why spare me? What did I do other than lead you to your graves!? You, *choke* and Floor, and Teefs, *sniffle* and Rocket…
As she named each of her friends, she realized one was missing. Rocket. The raccoon who shared a cage with Floor.
Magril: Wait.. Where’s Rocket?
Lylla’s smile returns once Magril puts two and two together.
Magril: Wait.. did he..?
Lylla’s nod was the only answer Magril needed. Relief washed over her features. Rocket survived, he’s alive and still out there.
Lylla: I know you see no reason to keep going, but you still have a purpose here. Don’t give up yet.
Lylla gently embraced Magril, who started to cry again.
Magril: *sniffle* I’m sorry, Lylla..
Lylla only shook her head in response.
Lylla: You can do it. You’re so strong, much stronger than you realize. I know you’ll make it through this. And then one day, you and Rocket can come flying with us.
Tears form in Magril’s eyes.
Magril: Into the forever and beautiful sky…
Magril suddenly feels herself falling then a split second later she finds herself in the med bay onboard the ravager ship. Kraglin and Quill were over her, tears staining their faces.
Quill: Magril? Magril!
Kraglin: Magril! Thank god!
Magril: Nrgh.. Guys..?
The two pull Magril into a hug as she was still trying to process what just happened.
Kraglin: Are you okay!? We found you bleeding!
Quill: There was a knife next to you and we thought someone attacked you!
Kraglin: And you didn’t have a pulse for around ten minutes, we were worried sick!
Magril’s heart sank to the pit of her stomach. The amount of pain she put her own brothers through broke her heart. She tightly embraced them as tears streamed down her cheeks.
Magril: *sobs* I’m so sorry! I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. *choke* I’m so sorry. *sniffle* I love you so much, I’m so sorry.
Quill: It’s okay. We love you too, Magril.
Kraglin: We’re just glad you’re okay.
