i'm still stuck on the purgatories so here's a list of purgatory 2 moments simply off the top of my head that deserve to be remembered:
aimsey ducking all of axolotl team alone in a cave with literally half a heart
goose gang fucking descending on the raccoon base and absolutely wrecking shop
ethan crankgameplays clutching up for team panda during the capture the flag game by being the only one hanging out in the center and periodically checking the chests, earning them a shitton of flags and clutching multiple rounds
crow team's egg taking 0 damage
pac doxxing goose gang's egg in the last second
shelby shubble as the last member of her team online writing a letter to aimsey and sharing the world's most devastating ten minutes before her team was eliminated with one of the eye creatures (coco? i forgot lol)
badboyhalo absolutely fucking DEMOLISHING the battleship event on like 2 hours of sleep and a dream
wuant(?) stealing a tv from the battleship event and then playing portuguese ice age on it for the crows lmfao
tubbo djing for his team while waiting for the time for a goose gambit
theguill CRASHING THROUGH THE FUCKING CEILING of the raccoon team's hidey hole like the fucking kool aid man in a last effort to save his team and 4v1 or 5v1 ing team raccoon; he lost but that was such an epic fucking moment
theguill and etoiles pvping and each hyping the other's skills the entire time
seapeekay escaping cellbit and baghera and then stealing their boats and rocketing past to tease them about it; that shit was iconic

do you ever think about how crazy it is that we are told to ignore and never engage with feminism for fear that we are "groomed" aka so we remain blind to our oppression.
Before I knew what so called sex work was, i knew SWERFs were evil, before I understand what surrogacy was, I knew those women were just homophobic, conservative bigots and before I even understood why my sex wasn't just my sex, why being female meant i had to fill in this role i hated, i knew TERFs were mean, ugly, jealous fascists.
I was told to never engage with them, "block and report" was the mantra. I was told i had to repent if i ever did for fear i too would become the greatest threat to society: a woman who fights for herself.

I have blocked someone because I don’t like their art style. Their art constantly shows up in a fandom tag I follow; so I blocked that user.
Someone I follow reblogs from someone I don’t want to see on my dash so I put their entire URL in my filtered terms/ blacklist.
There was an aesthetic blogger in a tag I frequent and I didn’t want their collages/ mood boards to clog up my search results. So I blocked them.
I promise you, you are allowed to filter out and/ or block people.
People don’t need to be bad, don’t need to be annoying, don’t need to “deserve” getting blocked.
You are allowed to block people for any reason whatsoever; including no reason at all.

OH. okay so normally i dont touch discourse with a 20 ft pole, but this has been niggling at my brain tonight and i finally realized why
the people who are mad at qbbh for the memory loss and “dodging consequences” dont understand that he doesnt want to dodge consequences. Like they cant know that, they werent focused on him when he was literally feeding himself to the soul vultures and planning his eventual imprisonment and also. The Many Many Many hints he made towards suicide/sacrifice/Just Fucking Dying.
ccbbh is a subtle roleplayer, he’s been building this shit up for two whole months- it was day FIVE of the eggs going missing that he resolved to do whatever it took (hurting his friends) to get the eggs back. It was day three that he followed in dapper’s footsteps and started feeding himself to the soul vultures (and gaining a Massive headwound beneath his hood in the process- you can only see it if you go on namemc and remove the layers). He’s got impaired judgement. Even the memory issues arent a new thing- i cant remember exactly when they started, but one of the first big moments i remmeber was september 30th where he spent an hour falling into a delusional frenzy searching his base for cameras that he forgot he asked aypierre to plant.
The super murder of purgatory and the memory loss afterwards probably all feels very sudden for people who havent been following his story, but as someone who has been- all of this has been true to character. The only cheap swings he’s made have been combat-based in purgatory, and even the motive for those was built up in rp.
People are calling for consequences, but he has alrwady been experiencing self-inflicted consequences for months. The blue on his usual outfit is blood. This recent memory loss isnt a restart to get away with the atrocities - it is yet another consequence of his egg-protecting complexes and the ways he punishes himself for failing them.
he is NOT a moral character. he’s a demon hiding in plain site. he has eaten people. he has killed people. he understands the cruelty of his actions, and the consequences of them for the loved ones of his victims. but it matters when that harm is being done to his loved ones. he’ll still do it, because he will do anything for the eggs, but it matters, and that means that he has already started the process of self-inflicting those much-demanded consequences

I know this is beating a dead horse at this point, but I just started thinking about this the other day and...
How many people that were previously enemies has Sonic ACTUALLY befriended?
Like my knowledge of some old games and the handhelds ain't great, but...
There was Knuckles, who I think is the only one in the classic era.
He never really befriended Gamma in SA1, just left him to Amy.
Also he didn't befriend Chaos, just beat the anger out of him.
The next one was Shadow in SA2, although they're still kinda rivals?
I don't think Rouge counts in SA2 since she wasn't really an enemy of Sonic specifically, even in Heroes it's really Sonic and Shadow that start the fight.
Gemerl is a robot who was reprogrammed to be friendly, I wouldn't count that as "befriending someone".
Him and Jet are rivals in every Riders game, this never changes.
Blaze in Rush is someone that fought him and they became friends, so it's clear cut, she counts.
Silver in '06 does as well.
Do we count Shade from Chronicles? I think she had a boss fight. I know very little about that game but it's not canon, right?
Merlina is kinda a grey area? Like they were friends, he stopped her evil plans and was still nice to her. I don't know if in context that meets the criteria.
On top of that I don't think the Knights of the Round Table count. Sonic is there to take the swords and they work together at the end. I don't think there's any hard feelings, but don't know if this counts as "friends".
Sage could be the next example, but she's still loyal to Eggman. I don't think what they briefly shared was friendship as much as Sage wanting to save Eggman.
I haven't played Superstars but Trip doesn't even have a bossfight, does she? I don't think she counts.
Not looking at the method, just purely if they became friends down the line. Out of all of those, there's 4 total (if you count Shadow, which I do) with 1 it's complicated and 1 non-canon. That's very few when you consider how large the game cast is.
An overwhelming majority of his friends weren't ever hostile with him to begin with, like the Chaotix, Amy, Tails, Cream, Emerl, Big, ect. There's plenty of other cast members that are still have him on their shit list, like Eggman, Infinite (if he's alive), Fang, Metal, Eggman Nega, the Deadly Six...
Now I'm starting to wonder where this idea of it being a frequent even came from.
#i still don't read the comic anymore but it's kinda hard to not see anything about it in the sonic fandom#anyways yeah that's my ramblings on the subject#a weird aspect to latch onto when it's only happened a few times#and the last definitive one was 18 years ago#and again not looking too hard at the context of those situations in this post i already know the comic misrepresents them#because aside from blaze sonic never instigated those friendships#he's a go with the flow kinda guy so he'll match your energy#you come at him aggressive and he'll be aggressive back#but also if you're friendly he'll be friendly kinda thing#anti idw sonic#idw sonic#fans don't look#hopefully that covers the tag blocking list#and people properly filter because i don't want to leave the idw tag out#in case anyone is just trying to steer clear of anything idw

ok so for our friends trying to keep up from liveblogs (love you to death) here's an off the cuff summary of the main points of today's mini event:
the timer ended, the members were instructed to return to the timer dungeon
the dungeon had reset and the mobs (etc.) respawned so the squad cleared it
at the bottom the buttons had been removed from the doors to the timer room. inside, the code entity waited on the stage
the code dropped a book for them and vanished
the book instructed two teams to go to two sets of coordinates, near spawn; the group split into teams of 6 and went to them
(the frosted glass to my knowledge is unchanged)
the coordinates were for identical underground rooms below a trapdoor and down a ladder; not federation quartz
in the rooms there was a redstone puzzle, which, once completing, started a create mod machine that manufactured train tracks
QSMP in the chat said "the train is leaving" so the members hustled for the train station at spawn
the train was gone
the members followed the tracks. at the end, the nether portals were active
the few fastest members were able to get through and found the train in the nether, however they were kicked out and the nether portal broken.
etoiles attempted to build his own and it teleported him to spawn
(THE NETHER IS STILL CLOSED)

the prevailing theory among the members at the moment is that the seven people featured here are korean boy band BTS lmfao

I’m not the same anon who asked you the initial question, but I’ve also seen a popular user on here say that Dean gets drunk and drives, and it just…doesn’t make sense with his character at all. 😭 Like, 1) Dean takes pride in saving people. Why would he endanger innocents by drinking heavily and driving? and 2) He’s OBSESSED with his car. Why would he risk getting into an accident? I’m not sure why some people like this headcanon ahsksks
They like the headcanon because they don’t like Dean.

one of the main reasons i love tumblr is that its been regarded as a dying platform for years so most of the users are adults who have just stuck around. in my experience its the platform with the lowest chances of being accosted by a teenager
#also blocking is pretty effective now#and term filtering and the ability to turn off reblogs#and chronological dashboard#all makes it great for avoiding irritating people
