hey i’m new to listening to lana del rey and i just wanted to know what songs of hers you’d recommend to me (i only listen to taylor swift olivia rodrigo and one direction 😭😭)
if you’re starting out and want something fun:
on born to die / paradise: radio, ride (iconic), national anthem (incredibly iconic watch the music video), and diet mountain dew.
ultraviolence: all of it. lol but brooklyn baby (lives were changed), west coast (a classic), pretty when you cry (mafia!eddie coded), and sad girl (also mafia!eddie coded).
honeymoon: i personally fucking love high by the beach SPECIFICALLY for the ending monologue. i will have a tattoo that says “peace by vengeance” coming very soon. salvatore (mafia!eddie coded. there’s a pattern here lol). i like the darkest day too because it’s cunty.
lust for life: really is the most taylor/olivia/harry kind of album so all are pretty good options. my faves ofc it’s beautiful people, beautiful problems bc stevie nicks is on it. i really love tomorrow never came too it’s just pretty. cherry is on? i’m fucking ok it’s so hot it’s so good, literally what plays when I’m writing slutty smut. honestly a lot of options on that one.

norman fucking rockwell is next and this is THE album. this is lana’s villain origin story she was ROBBED. I don’t even know where to start. Norman fucking Rockwell, cinnamon girl, the greatest (my favorite song of all time), doin’ time (very cunty I love it). truly listen to it all. there’s not a bad song on there. a no skip album.
chemtrails: it’s not my fave not bc it’s not good but bc i’m just not at this moment in my life to appreciate it. the title track is phenomenal, dark but just a game, dance til we die.
blue banisters: dealer is so fucking good if you want to be dramatic and scream in your car. if you lie down with me (my fav) is so pretty and swoony. violets for roses you really have to listen to the lyrics but they’re so goddam true once you hear them you’ll say them with your whole heart and soul every time.
ocean blvd: personally big fan of the title track bc it came for my neck and soul. let the light in is phenomenal. margaret is with jack antonoff (i know I didn’t spell it right probably sorry robbie shapiro) it’s very pretty. i really like peppers too bc it’s kinda slutty and fun and funky. sweet reminds me of janitor!eddie possibly rockstar!eddie when he realizes he’s in love.

my (hopefully) coherent thoughts about mean girls! spoilers ahead ofc👍
music:
the songs weren’t that bad! sexy, world burn, apex predator, and meet the plastics were my faves
my least favorite was stupid with love though,, the production makes it so boring i’m sorry😭
<-but what i will say is that the stupid with love reprise performed at the spring fling SLAPPED. why can’t that be on the soundtrackk
i feel like a lot of emotion that the original songs had is lost here. whether it be the production or the vocals accompanying it or both; i feel like they go hand in hand. reneé auli’i & jaquel definitely brought the energy that was needed here
the choreography & visuals that went with the songs definitely made them better than simply listening to the soundtrack on its own. like i was much more invested in what ifs & revenge party for example– and i already liked someone gets hurt, but the VISUALS??? holy shit that scene was incredible
i really wish a few songs were kept from the show like any of damian’s or that the someone gets hurt reprise in the movie was included in the soundtrack. hell i kind of wish do this thing was kept because i think that would’ve gone so hard at the end for some inexplicable reason pfft
and of course these can’t top the original broadway versions, nor did i expect them to. also sometimes the production or mixing was either bland or off (like in world burn reneé’s vocals are a second or two behind the backing track at one point, which is super weird since it’s fine in the soundtrack but i digress lmao)
cast/characters:
the cast have great chemistry they’re all so talented they’re so fucking funny aghh the casting was perfect
reneé as regina made me gayer somehow. Not surprised there
AVANTIKA. she was soso perfect as karen!! so funny so insanely pretty and she did sexy so much justice
okay admittedly i was a little unsure about angourie as cady. only at first though because once she became part of the plastics she played that role so well
speaking of cady that scene when regina’s singing in the cafeteria and cady’s staring at her is actually the gayest thing i’ve ever seen hands down
ms. norbury & mr. duvall are in a relationship. they have dogs at home. janis said (jokingly) that they got wasted at the spring fling. they are My straight couple i love them so fucking much
ough the bond between cady and her mom is so sweet and even emotional at one point i really like it
the band always seeming to be around and playing is so good especially when they’re in the tree in that one scene lol
i knew lindsay lohan would be there somehow and her being the proctor for the math competition was golden. (also her lines like “this has only happened once more”<-referencing the original movie & then the “i don’t know your life” to cady were SOOO)
miscellaneous:
so happy some of the jokes and moments from the musical were in the movie. like “homeschooled? oh that’s a fun way to take jobs from my union!” & mr. duvall’s retainer case & the bathroom scene with cady & regina lol
i was thinking they’d go overboard with the social media aspect (like a lot of media typically tends to do when making a movie like this) but i was pleasantly surprised! yes it was definitely a large part of many scenes but i think it mostly worked & made sense. but then again this is tina fey so she knows what she’s doing lmao
it’s best to not have any expectations when walking into this movie; nothing too high, nothing too low. i probably like it more than the average person as i’ve always loved the broadway musical but still. if you want to see it i say go for it! it has a great cast, songs that range from bland & perfectly serviceable to great with exceptional vocals (coughs. Reneé), and some nice references and moments for fans of the original movie, the musical, or both. it was fun time and i could tell there was heart put into it🫶

Here’s the results from the open comment field for “Favourite magical girl” from the magical girl survey from a few days back. I originally intended them to be a place where you could express your complaints if your desired option wasn’t available, but sure we can go with listing your favourite and least favourite characters too! For individual mentions, Homura was mentioned the most.

In a combat-based magical girl show, I’d love to see an active rather than a reactive magical girl. Example, one who tries to figure out where the enemy will strike next, rather than stumbling upon it; or one who tries to figure out where the bosses flee to after they send the Monster of the Day out.
Mami Tomoe most definitely. She's kind with a hint of selfishness that means no harm. She also uses her magic in mundane and creative was such as turning the bat Sayaka brought to fight witches into a weapon that would actually harm them, and

Would love to see more magical girls use technology as their power (that isnt reduced to just electricity tho).
my first favorite magical girl will always be usagi but also i loved michiru a lot as a child, like i wanted to be her. later on, sayaka from pmmm became one of my favorite characters of all time because her emotional torment is very similar to what i went through

Hi! I’m sorry if you already have a post about this but I would love to hear your expanded thoughts on Dean as the Final Girl. I love your ideas!!
Hi! I don't have a post about this yet. I've seen a lot of people talk about Dean as a Final Girl and I've seen some great art for it! I highly recommend searching "final girl dean" and you'll find some stuff. I'll also reblog some of my faves here in a minute.
That being said, the reason I haven't talked about it is because I've never really thought deeply about Final Girl Dean beyond the loud little PING in my brain when I first saw that phrase and went "oh yeah, that's it, that's the stuff." He's got the aesthetics he's got the vibes he's got the Jender.
He IS the Final Girl , 15x20 notwithstanding. We watch for him, the story is about him. It's about seeing him suffer but also seeing him fight for his life and ultimately survive. The Final Girl's survival is as important as her trauma, it's what makes good horror cathartic instead of just a mindless gore-fest.
Which is--and brace yourself for my extremely unhumble horror fan opinions as well as spoilers for several horror movies I'm going to use as examples--another reason the finale sucked: as a show that grew out of the horror genre, and kept a lot of its tropes and underpinnings even after it stopped being remotely scary, there was no excuse for such a shitty, stilted, try-and-fail-to-make-everybody-happy ending.
A good horror movie should end on either "we survived" (good examples include The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original), Halloween (2020), Ready or Not, Scream) or "fuck here we go again" (great examples include The Ring, All Cheerleaders Die, The Babysitter, and Jensen's very own starring role in the 2010 remake of My Bloody Valentine). The rare horror movie that ends on a bleak note for every character does so in a way that should fuck with you and leave you staring at the wall for a few hours at least, going "what the fuck did I just watch" but unable to stop thinking about it (good examples include Cabin In The Woods, Midsommar, and I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In The House).
SPN's ending, particularly the ending for Dean, did none of that. Nobody survived. There was no possibility of the characters' story continuing beyond what we can see. And the general reaction for something like 75% of the audience was "I not only never want to think about that again, I wish I could actually un-watch it." It was sappy, emotionally flat, too final, and deeply, deeply unsatisfying because of it. The most immediate horror parallel I can draw off the top of my head is Halloween: Resurrection, one of the shittiest Halloween films and, not coincidentally, the one where Laurie Strode is killed by Michael Myers (she gets better by virtue of reboots that said "never mind that nonsense," but still).
So yes, Dean is the Final Girl. Dean is the one whose pain is most often focused on in Supernatural, the one who cries, the one who suffers, the one who fights for survival. His suffering is the point, but so is the fight, and so is the eventual triumph. Dean in pain, covered in blood, fighting for his life is objectified and eroticized, yes, but we're also encouraged to form a real emotional attachment to him and his story, and to root for him.
And most of all, the suffering and death of other characters is most often filtered through Dean's perspective. We as the audience often choose to care about the characters for their own sake, yes, but we are encouraged to care about them because Dean cares about them, or to hate them because Dean hates them, or fear them because he does, etc. Their deaths are meant to matter to us because they are part of Dean's suffering.
We primarily get Dean's reaction to his father's death, we almost exclusively get Dean's reaction to Sam's, we get Dean's pain when Cas dies and his worry when Cas or Sam are hurt. It's Dean's reaction that matters most when Sam is being seduced by Ruby, Dean's reaction that matters most when Cas is working with Crowley (and not just to Sam or Cas; it's Dean's reaction the camera focuses on, and it's Dean's reaction that takes up the most script). Dean's pain is the primary reason we care about Mary's death the first time, but it's also the one that takes precedence when Mary is alive and not the mom he remembers, or even when Mary dies a second time (even though Sam actually knew her and can miss her this time around).
This starts as early as the second episode of season one, and continues with few interruptions through season 15 episode 18. But somehow they (the writers, the network, Andrew Dabb, whoever ultimately made the decision about the ending) expected us to switch that off and suddenly care more about Dean as accessory to someone else's story, rather than Dean himself (or, you know, his relationships to other characters). And it didn't work. The Final Girl's suffering requires the catharsis of survival, and we didn't get that for Dean.
So. I guess I lied when I said I didn't have any thoughts, because I just wrote you a fricking novel. But I really hadn't sat down and thought about this before now, beyond the "oooo yes" reaction the first time I heard the comparison made.
Now, Monstrous Feminine Sam on the other hand? I have many thoughts, head full. I'm working on a whole Post about that. And probably one about how Cas embodies the Horror of Motherhood, though others have already talked about that plenty before.

More (slightly more collected) thoughts on 4.01
So I’ve not gotten over the kiss and even the whole sequence leading up to it.
Like; GF coming over in 10 minutes. What to do? How about read something ‘steamy’ with characters based on me and my business partner/best friend. Same steamy chapter he was contemplating not READING at all (or so he said...) then KISS SCENE!!! - interrupted just as it was getting real good by Higgy herself calling and telling him he’s coming home.
(Like I said, not over it so my brain just keeps needing to repeat it...)
I do have some questions though.
Did Higgy know about TR Belle back when they were arguing about who the boat was named after back in season 1? Was that her cover back in Russia? We do know she was undercover in the Russian secret police (from Hannah saying it back in season 1, even if the writers might not remember it I sure do and it would fit with this senario). Was this where she met Robin?
(I’d hate this because their banter about the TR Belle is one of my faves but could make sense?)
Or is Belle the name of someone else important to Robin? But her character is based on Higgy too?
QUESTION 2 - Is Ethan suddenly cool with Higgy being all “Me Spy Hear Me Roar?”
I mean, she didn’t quite put it like that, but when she tells him the whole thing about stealing vaccines and now being in trouble with them he’s all ‘oh baby we’ll figure it out’. I’d hoped he’d be a little bit more... IDK, something? I guess I’m still not over him breaking up with her for the whole TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT HER PAST BECAUSE SHE LOVES YOU.
Which leads me to another question.
At the end when Eve is all “DON’T TELL ANYONE. THAT INCLUDES MR. MAGNUM”. Juliet is all what if Magnum finds out? He’s a detective you know... Yeah. Magnum. Not Ethan. Because Ethan? Ethan who? (The same Ethan who broke up with her once for lying to him about spy stuff??? That Ethan?)
I guess Higgy is just smart enough to know she can lie to Ethan (I mean she was/his a spy after all...) but Magnum... that’s a different story! He really truly knows her. Even the bit about just flying doctors around not being enough. He knows her better than she knows herself and I’m most definitively here for it!
Also Magnum and Higgy making sure to tell each other they’ve missed each other when she WAS COMING HOME while her and Ethan... neither one of them really seemed to care that she was going home. Maybe they’ve just spent the whole past five months seeing each other like once a month so it’s not even a big deal? (This idea makes me happy so I’m going with it...)

Why couldn’t Magnum and the lads have made friends? Just a little? I get it was a thing in the original. But Higgins is a woman here. Everything is different. Why not let Magnum get a long with the doggos?
The book bits
While I did enjoy both Higgy kicking ass and wielding a katana and the KISS (yes it has to be in capital letters. sorry. not sorry). And I understand why they added them (to get actual ‘Higgy and Magnum’ interactions with her across the world) but other than being cool and for dramatic effect in the trailers, making us shipper lose our minds and hope Miggy is gonna be canon before the end of the season, they didn’t serve a whole lot of purpose. For the story.
I mean I will always be glad to have seen Jay/Perdie, Magnum/Thomas, Knight/Belle kiss in case we never get actual Miggy. BUT! There was a bit off stuff going on and being established in this ep... maybe we could have done without the first book bit and just have jumped into Higgy and Ethan chatting? Even Magnum looking for his watch at Lia’s? Jenny leaving a message for Magnum that she wanted to hire him? Bad guys in Kenya stealing Vaccines?
IDK. Just a thought.
How easy it is for Higgy to kick like 3-6 bad guys’ asses
Like I love that my girl is great at hand to hand combat. BUT, come on? At least have her get one bruise or something!?! Like how hard could like one little cut or something be to add for her scenes in half of 4.01 and 4.02? Like you would have let Magnum get hurt, so why does Juliet need to be invincible? Let her be awesome but also human.
Once more with feeling
Where is the passion with Lia? Where is like the feeling? The spark? Maybe it’s because it’s always a little awkward coming into a new set and established crew the actors don’t have that comfortable feeling with each other? But also the writing? The whole bit with ‘where was it?‘ ‘my place‘ ‘obviously‘ with the watch. It just felt a bit too stiff. Same with the hero remark at the end. But this might just be my Miggy bias. Or the writers are brilliant and doing it on purpose to make us feel a bit awkward about the relationship too? I mean it is cute and awkward at the same time which is what a lot of relationship are at the start. I’d just liked to have seen more about what actually started it, what drew them together?
Magnum going: With Higgy gone I can take cases that don’t pay, like this one, working for a single mother... (I’m paraphrasing but you get the gist of it.)
It’s not like Higgy was obsessed with making money for the sake of it. Sure, she’s got some fancy interests and background but she’s also slept in a tent for 5 months!!! You were doing higher paying cases because she was RUNNING Robin’s Nest so she could STAY in Hawaii with YOU (and the gang). Remember that? (I guess the writers forgot it too because going to Kenya would not have been good for that, I’m pretty sure?)
I personally felt this was just not cool. But I mean maybe I get it? Like with the lone-wolf thing, it’s Magnum trying to convince himself that everything is Okay with her gone. Trying to find the good things?
The Case
I realized upon posting my ‘review’ that I failed to actually comment on the main action/case/plot.
(Which was a bit wack. Because it’s actually really pretty good case. I was just so focused on waiting on the Miggy bits and even Juliet’s stuff in Africa, to really pay attention to the other stuff. I’d also slept for five hours and was stressed out because I was leaving at 10 and yeah. Priories? I guess?)
Anyways. Magnum has been hired by a woman who then goes missing. He meets her father and her cute as a button daughter. Promises to bring mom home. It’s very cute.
It all turns out to be a bigger conspiracy than Magnum originally imagines and while I was a little bit unfocused on it, I did manged to follow along and found it all rather alright. I was almost more disappointed there wasn’t more crazy wacky stuff. Just one car getting blown up, five dead gangsters, Magnum killing a guy.
I mean they said this was going to be their biggest premier and I’m not sure I agree. Pilot is still much cooler and even last season with Higgy being shot and meeting Ethan, was more drama.
So the verdict for the case of the week is: enjoyed it well enough.
Juliet’s spy plot I did enjoy a bunch. I mean the two minutes of it that we got there at the end...

Susie and Rick finally getting together. Like that whole bit was so funny and I loved it.
How the dialogue during the White Knight scenes (at the end especially) was just so over the top yet somehow weirdly romantic and the music swelling like a old movie when they kissed and then it freezing and the music going to ‘London calling’.
Also kinda like that we got Higgy imagining the fight scene while we got Magnum imagining the kiss. This makes sense where we are with them now, but I’d like some sort of reversal of it too late in the season possibly? (and I’d not have said no to seeing how Higgy imagined that kiss.)

You and Nik had been together for years, so many in fact that hat you have lost count but to give an example of how long, you were born the same year the Miklesons had been turned.
For some reason, Klaus kept your relationship a secret, he told his family, and you all spoke to often with one another even when one avoided the other, but other than that nobody knew. You guessed it was because he wanted to keep you safe since he's been making enemies from the day he was born.
Since you had been with Klaus for so long, there were a few things that you had become desensitised to, slight torture, killing etc. - you were a vampire, yes, but you never killed anybody - There was one thing that you could never get over, Klaus cheating.
You had caught them, Klaus and this girl, one night and you had left there and then, cut all ties with him. Elijah and Rebekah had been there to pick up the pieces of your broken heart, and you promised yourself that you would never be tricked by Klaus again.
Eventually, Nik found you and begged for you to come back to him, be his again, he slowly got you to doubt yourself and your options using that silver tongue of his. He would so easily manipulate those thoughts and memories that you had made, and you ended up taking him back after 20 years of him giving you gifts every other day.
It's easy to say you loved Klaus with everything you had, and you used all the patience you had with him too.
You had both decided to take a business trip to Paris while Klaus had been lead to somewhere in America, you said your "goodbyes and See you soon" and headed off in your different directions. It was easier to be separated for such a short period of time when you've lived several hundred years; it isn't ideal to be away from the person you love. Still, it's more manageable for the lifeless vampires that live on throughout time.
Throughout your trip you had been excited for it to end, despite enjoying it so much, to be able to see Klaus again, it was one of those trips for Klaus were he was so busy and so caught up down the rabbit hole that he couldn't message, so this whole trip there's was barely anything from him, or his siblings who accompanied him to Mystic Falls, somewhere with a lot of vampire action that apparently was not going under the radar.
The last day of your trip you receive a text, a sentence which you had read multiple times from Klaus before, although this time it was from an unrecognisable number - "Meet me in New Orleans, we have much to discuss."
On your way to a place you had once fled, and when you did, it had broken your heart, you only hope it goes better this time.
You walk through the large house that you once called home, admiring the decor that you remember as you move through the house.
You can hear talking through the house and can pinpoint that it is coming from the office - Klaus' voice is coming from Klaus' office.
As you make your way to your love, happiness fades, and sorrow hits you like a train as you overhear what Klaus and his siblings are talking about.
"She's having your child, Nicklaus, you need to do something to protect her and the child."
"Really Nik? you had to have a rebound, from Caroline, who -"
"Don't you ever mention her name to me again!"
Now here you are, standing in the corridor refusing to breathe as you were listening in to Klause and Elijah as they spoke about how it was possible for Klaus to bear a child.
A woman, with a hand over her stomach protectively despite her even showing, walked up to you. She could see the sadness in your eyes as she asked you if you were okay and introduced herself as Haley.
Haley, you had learnt a moment earlier was the woman who was having Klaus' child... So this was her, not only that but there was two of them: Haley and a Caroline.
Haley looked at you with slight concern, that innocent girl- you could have killed her there and then and end it all - but no, you were never evil, maybe a little desensitised.
You boss and begin to walk away only for you to hear the door of the old house creak open.
"Y/N?" Klaus, the person you had dedicated most of your life to loving unconditionally, asks as if you weren't even invited to the party.
You turn, holding your feelings down but refusing to flick that switch, the switch that is just there - just beginning for the rage that has been waiting to be unleashed for decades.
"Oh sorry, am I interrupting you and your family matters?" You reply with a snark.
"It's dangerous, you being here."
"Yeah, I was just leaving."
"Is that all you have to say? You know I committed infidelity and you don't have anything else to say? Do you even care anymore? There's nothing left for you to say... After all this time?" Klaus says, trying to get a rise in you or seeing how far he can push you before you break.
"...The mother of your child...she's lovely," you say before you walk away. You left that house and that family; you would more than likely see Rebekah and Elijah again but never Klaus. You promised yourself you would never cry over that man again.

So. Thanks to my new anonymous friend, this is going to become a thing.
Shae’s thinky thoughts about the latest episode--Acheron: Part 2--beneath a cut.
Because spoilers, however vague they might be.
Let’s be real here. This is more a stream of consciousness than anything else so if that’s not your thing, you are most welcome to nope right on out of this post. Trust me. I’ll completely understand, lol. Sometimes? I wish I could nope right on out of my own brain and the way it operates.
That said? Without further ado--
Episode 2′s opening, though. Maggie trapped with hungry Walkers converging? It totally gives me Glenn under the dumpster vibes. I don’t know if that was intentional or just happy coincidence but way to link Maggie to her dearly departed better half, show.
Is it just me or has Father G had more OOMPH to him these last few seasons? Again, I have to ask--Rosita’s influence or no? Regardless, I bet Seth Gilliam is loving the job these days.
Side note: am I gonna have to go to bed early every Saturday night from now until the end just so I that I might be able to SEE? Something? Anything? My curtains are flimsy-ass. I admit it. But this is more frustrating than TXF. Angela, WTF?
No, seriously. It’s like complete guess work who’s in these subway scenes. Some of that has to do with them being overly populated by redshirts and the rest of it has to do with me having to squint and turn sideways to make out their facial features.
Look at Daryl busting through concrete walls! Should I call him the Kool-Aid Man considering NR has once again allowed himself to be led right into a biased, shipper trap? Hmm. I might.
Imagine seeking refuge in those dark, filthy subways. Any second now I expect to hear the skittering of rats. Will Dog lose his effing mind a la Divergence? He’s been shown to go off half-cocked that way, lol. Oh well. Guess it’ll be in character if he does.
Impressive graffiti storyboards. Does it mean something that it immediately cuts to the Commonwealth storm troopers afterward? Maybe. Who really knows at this point? They been trying to gaslight us forever.
LOL at Princess yet again. Yumiko is just like da fuq is this person?
No, really. LMAO. “That was her. From last night. Did you see how she was looking at us?”
Then you have Eugene, hahaha. “Oh God. Why did he tell off the big guy?” Like the man is totally me in this type of situation. Not even gonna lie.

I literally cannot wait ‘til Carol and Daryl meet Princess. Can. Not. Wait.
How sad is that note on that $100 bill? Small moment but it totally gives me Season 4 vibes when they were on their way to Terminus seeking sanctuary.
Hmm. Remember how that place wasn’t what they thought it was? I’m sure neither is the Commonwealth. But I feel like what’s left of Team Family is totally going to do Rick proud, lol, and prove they’re messing with the wrong people if they try something.
Daryl, Man. You gonna have to get a better handle on your headstrong Fur Son. I wonder if Dog would listen better to his mama? Things to ponder.
Sounds like Miko has this group’s number. Or does she?
Princess and Eugene totally look like they’re waiting their turn for the Principal’s office, LOL.

Maggie pistol-whipping Negan was kinda deserved, but he wasn’t all wrong so.
Damn. I’m no Gage fan. He can fuck all the way off for what he did to my baby Lydia. But Maggie over there with ice in her veins.
Yep. I think the dude just got one of the most gruesome deaths in a while. Yuck.
I think Alden’s faith in Maggie definitely took several hits. I feel like he kind of had her on some sort of pedestal dating back to Hilltop times. Father G, though? The man is continuing to show himself a SAVAGE MFer.
Josh gives Eugene such believable tics and mannerisms. He IS Eugene.
Thank you, Maggie, for lighting that flare. I could not see a damn thing.
What are these bad memories Negan alludes to? Hmm? Him being a shit husband to Lucille back when he was still taking her for granted?
Father G on Gage’s Walker--”All that is, is a shell of a man, who died a coward.” Kind of ironic considering Father G’s own origins, huh? Has he any warmth in there for anybody but Rosita and Coco? Does he equate it with weakness?
“There are worse ways.” And Maggie proceeds to paint us a horror story with mere words.
Dark Maggie really surpasses anything certain fans have ever accused Carol of being. Is she too far gone? Who the hell knows? I think it’s clear that she and Carol are both on a sliding scale of sorts when it comes to being able to compartmentalize shit to survive. Personally? I feel like Maggie might have leap-frogged Carol in this episode but it matters none because of the double standards so deeply entrenched in this fandom. Both women have endured and had to do some horrific things. It’s not a contest. But it’s probably going to be turned into a season-long one.
It’s almost like Kang was like, “Ya’ll bitches think Carol’s dark? I’ll show you DARK. Check and mate.”
Whatever the reasoning, Maggie just got exponentially more interesting to me if not likable. And before anybody out there comes at me, it’s entirely possible to be on a character’s side in some things and not be all up their ass in love with them, lol. Like I’m attached to her because she’s family and Glenn loved her. There’s a loyalty there and she absolutely is justified in her hatred of Negan. But I’m not going to pretend her shit don’t stink like everybody else’s.
Speaking of my baby Glenn. What would he think of this version of Maggie? I think he would be gutted and heart stricken that events led to her being like this but he’d understand because he’s pure like that. Don’t mean he’d be A-OK with it all.
Dog must be protected at all costs.
Confession. I know not the fuck who Pony Boy is, but I know him because all my fandom friends have pointed him out to me, lol. RIP, Man. I think you’re number’s up or close to it.
Okay, though. I admit it. I am kinda LOVING Badass Father G.
That scene in the subway car with all of them working to take all the Walkers out was already badass. Then Daryl arrived and made it, in @freefromthecocoon’s words, HAWT. LOL.
Eugene staring at that little black book like it contains torture tools, hehehe.
“Processed? As in administratively? Processed as in bologna or other meat stuffs? This inquiring (enquiring?) mind needs to know.” OMG, Eugene. I admit it. Even if it makes me look like a lunatic, LOL. I straight up LMAO at that one. I mean, ten years later and Terminus still fresh on the man’s mind.
“You like feeling nervous?” Well, no. None of us that do, Mercer? Do.
Then he proceeds to make me howl with his “You can’t lie for shit” to Eugene.
Josh McDermitt? I love you, Man. 40 year old virgin, LOL.
All this talk over the seasons of Daryl’s virginity and we have Eugene, hahaha. But was he telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
Finally. Some daylight. Where I can see.
Eugene’s relief at seeing his friends safe and sound was such a beautiful thing to see. I loved those hugs.
Mercer’s face when he snarled “beat cop” in disdain to Ezekiel. I think I’m gonna love this dude.
“I went to West Point. Asshole.” Yeah. I am.
I know they probably catfishing Eugene right here because spoilers tell us that ain’t Stephanie. But my heart still did a little d’aww. Angela. Don’t play with his poor heart like that.
What’s got Daryl so pensive, huh? Is it that the note reminds him of kids being lost or taken from their family? Or separated from their family? Is he thinking of those Grimes babies and wondering if Michonne will ever make it back and why and how she was able to leave them behind? Tell me it ain’t that Find Me nonsense.
“This place sure has gone to shit since the last time I was here.” LMAO, JDM. I mean Negan. Sorry. Sorry. I still hate Negan, but JDM has me entertained at least since they gave the asshole some shades of gray. And speaking of shades of gray. I’m loving the gray beard. JDM’s looking GOOD (hear that NR? Embrace the gray). Negan can still kick rocks, lol.
Anyway. That scene was CREEPY AF. Not even gonna lie.

Dark, dark episode with loads of tension broken up by some welcome humor by Princess. The girl is fast becoming a fave of mine.

Okay y’all, you know what? Chibi is gonna watch another show!
And I’ve chosen to watch Voltron Force! And I got the first three episodes watched tonight!
And I’m going to be honest with a few things. I’m going in knowing way less about this show than I did DotU, and I didn’t know much about DotU to begin with. And one thing does bug me. Part of the animation. It’s like there’s a clash of styles when involving robeasts and such, but I’m finding I can easily ignore that. Also, I kinda dig the intro song. Nice beat.
Now, without further delay, we’ll get this started!
With episode 1!
Seeing the flashback of Lotor, his hair just doesn’t look as glorious. Oh well.
Now, moving past his hair, the lions are malfunctioning. I’m with the kid, who I later learned was Daniel (I struggle at hearing names at times, so please forgive me), on it seeming shady that they decommissioned Voltron and the lions without looking into it.
“I’ve yet to greet our first year cadets.” Lance, you sound like a sadistic bastard ready to make their lives hell with training. I mean, I probably would, too. But that’s beside the point.
Also, Sky Marshal Wade? Wade sounds like a jerk and I hope someone defenestrates him.
And Keith is a fugitive. Didn’t expect that. Okay then.
Lance busting the kids, Daniel and Vince, as I later learn his name with ease. Dude... I wasn’t pleased with this at first until we got further into the episode. Then things made more sense. And I’m led to hate Wade even further. Can we please defenestrate the man? Please?
I’m going to be honest, guys. I didn’t think it’d be possible for me to like anyone better than Pidge and Chip in any form of Voltron. But it happened. Don’t get me wrong, I love Pidge still. Can’t go hating on the green team baby. BUT VINCE! The quiznaking adorable baby boy! I just want nothing good for him. I mean, I wouldn’t mind Vince whump either, but I want good things in the end for him! And his use of “snart”. I don’t know what that means but it amuses me almost as much as “quiznak”.
I like seeing the robot mouse with Keith. Like in DDP’s comic! The mice were robotic, too!
We’ve got Daniel and Vince in the simulator. And Lance joining them! Lance! You being a good boy? And those simulators taking off was not something I expected. And Lance is chill! Yes!
When Lance gave them the mission to replace the pin on Wade’s coat, I thought they were bugging him to catch what he says. Nope, the original was keys for the lions. Didn’t expect that, but I’m pleased. Nice!
And Keith getting his lion back! Huzzah!
Now let’s move on to episode 2, shall we?
“I believe he’s become part of the solution.” This scientist dude working on something... this guy is giving me the heebies and jeebies.
Now then, back with the cadets. Meeting the other cadet. Daniel’s reaction. Either a crush or he’s just a sucker for a pretty face.
And this cadet is Allura’s niece. This implies that Allura has a sibling. Right? RIGHT? What am I missing!?
Oh yeah, Lance’s tone definitely makes him seem like a sadistic bastard when he told the others he was giving them a pop quiz. And that quiz is fighting. This guy’s a bastard and I’m amused.
“I’m not gonna hit a girl.” And this cadet isn’t afraid to hit you boys. Good for her.
And for the record? I don’t know her name and I was too lazy to look her up. I really struggle with hearing words at times, especially names. Please forgive me.... So I’mma just call her cadet because I’m too lazy. Sorry.
Poor Vince. My precious baby isn’t enjoying training one bit...
And Pidge helping Keith out. “You might want to take evasive action now.” Shooting starts. Pidge’s timing is impeccable.
Oh look, they’re bringing Lotor back to life apparently? And as the camera pans along his body, they flash to his skeleton at his pelvic region. I’m highly amused at that perfect method of censoring him.
And back with the kiddos! Vince. He’s an adorable nerd and I love him. His deduction with the voltcoms. And... poor Vince! His fizzled. But that’s fine, he’s happy again in his zone with the lion simulator! Yes, be a happy precious boy!
And the ziplines to reach the lions. Ah, such a fun sight.
And with the robeast there, I’m glad Daniel’s instinct is to help the others and fight. But he needs to practice with the lion more.
And Vince and Cadet working together in the other lion! Until the robeast yeets Green. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I feel sorry for them, but that yeet was amusing.
Keith knows how to end a fight in style. Even if he crashes.
“You still rocking the mullet?” Lance... um... your own hair is threatening to be a mullet itself.
Oh... oh... turning commander lady into the next robeast? Am I seeing that right? Oh dear....
Now let’s hit episode 3.
Screw you, Wade. And thank you, Coran, for standing up for Voltron!
Though the parallels with Wade and Lotor.... oooooh.
Um... guys? GUYS! No spoilers but VINCE HAS GLOWY SPARKY SHOCKY EYES! Should I be worried about my baby boy?
At least Cadet is seeming to try and get along with the boys. Good on you. You guys are a team now!
I want a giant painting with a usable sword! But since Mama doesn’t trust me with real swords, I may need to make one with a plastic sword. Surprisingly she trusts me with a plastic one.
Wade demanding the lions and Pidge and Hunk. “I want them now!”
Lance’s sass with “You’re an only child, aren’t you?” I mean, understandably, he got hit. But I’ll be honest, I’d have said the same thing. Or something else dealing with his childhood.
It’s cute seeing Vince and Pidge working together. Yes, two faves working together. This makes me happy!
And Vince having to work alone. And he’s a shocky baby again. Honey, please be okay!
And... spider robeast. Why is it always spiders?!
And then the dark lion... that can’t be good.
Though the lion losing and Wade being shocked. Yes. Suffer, Wade. Suffer.
And... lion in a cocoon with spider... Hunk wants to poke it. I laughed at that collective “no.”
Time to poke and quiznak! The bugger mutated with the lion!
Getting the black lion fixed and back to the battle, the kids are excited about forming Voltron! Huzzah! And Daniel being adorkable, happy to say “I’ll form the head”. You dork. You’re adorable.
I had a feeling Vince’s shockiness would help in the battle. And I called it! He powered them up in the nick of time! Yay Vince! But I still hope you’re okay.
Yeet the robeast to space since it’s unstable and dangerous and... is it repairing itself?
OH dear....
Okay, guys. This is it. This is the start of watching this series. Which is... just one season? Sadness. But I hope to continue enjoying it. I wanted to watch just the first episode to see, but here I am enjoying it further and three episodes in.

hey, i’m so sorry you feel down. i hope you feel a bit better soon
here are some more of my fave sunset curve headcanons that i hope bring a smile to your face

- whenever sunset curve would have a sleep over, somehow it always ended with luke, alex and reggie curled up in whoever’s bed it was while bobby slept on an inflatable mattress cause “he loves his bandmates but not that much”
- reggie loves experimenting with makeup, he used to steal his mums makeup and force luke, bobby and alex to be his models, which they all happily did cause “anything to make reggie smile”, and then after they died and became ghosts he always offered to help julie do her makeup and eventually flynn too after becoming visible to her too
- after they died bobby used to visit luke, reggie and alex’s graves all the time to talk to them. when the record label forced him to steal their music without credit he spent days crying at luke’s grave apologising to him and hoping that one day luke could forgive him
- also on the topic of bobby after the boys died, when he found out his wife was pregnant (or that he was adopting a girl, let’s go ace!bobby) he knew he wanted to honour the boys somehow which is why carrie’s middle name is either luka, alexandra or regina (bobby originally wanted all three but it was a bit much so he just figured he’d have to have more kids then)
- when alex and luke started dating reggie got really worried that he would have to date bobby now cause thats how it worked with ABBA, so one night he kissed bobby and bobby was like ??? wtf man, and reggie explained to him what was going on and bobby laughed so hard that he almost wet himself before explaining to reggie that they most definitely did not have to date, and if they did reggie would have to grow some boobs cause bobby was not into boys like that (denialllllll), and reggie would be embarrassed at first, and then worried that he had overstepped by kissing bobby, but before bobby leaves that night he pulls him into a hug and whispers to reggie that if he did ever figure out he liked boys reggie would be the first one he called, and also that reggie was a better kisser than luke was, and thats when reggie realised he had a tiny little crush on bobby
- speaking of crushes, i fully believe that reggie has crushed on all three other members of sunset curve at some point
alex when they first met cause alex was just so sweet and kind to reggie, and reggie basically fell in love the second he saw alex
luke later on, after reggie had gotten over his brief crush on alex, because luke was just so luke (alex confronted reggie on this crush and admitted to reggie that he also had a bit of a crush on luke, and that was the night they came out to each other)
and then lastly bobby, which was just more of a schoolgirl crush and not genuine feelings, which reggie got over pretty quickly
- one last one, the night that alex came out to his parents they told him to get out and only come back when he had gotten over the foolishness of what he had told them, so alex packed some clothes and took his mum’s car (cause fuck her, she told him to get out so he was getting out) and he drove to bobby and reggie’s places, and the studio for luke and collected his band mates, and the four of them went on a spontaneous road trip that was only meant to last for a day or two but ended up lasting for two weeks. on that road trip reggie came out to the rest of the band, luke officially admitted he was pan, bobby admitted that he wasn’t interested in sex at all, and they found out that the only members of the band who hadn’t kissed was alex and reggie, and alex and bobby, to which luke decided to solve by forcing alex to kiss the both of them, and bobby joked that for a mostly straight boy he sure had kissed a lot of boys and that’s how bobby came out
this was the last time they ever did something like this before they died a few months later

ooooo Myle!! This is a fun ask! Sorry I'm so late responding to it I've been away from my computer a lot this week and didn't have time to sit down and rank all of these!
I've put a little tier list thing together for the ND outfits here
and the reasoning and actual ranking is under the cut (worst to best) as well as some images of my fave Non ND competition outfits :)
S6 Sectionals/Regionals:
I hate it. I understand the reasoning for it but I hate it. Flashbacks to Secondary school. I know just how uncomfortable these would be, how they dance in them I have no idea. Like they look cute but NO. Just no. You're McKinley students now Warblers, learn to wear other clothes. You can dress how you want now. You could have honored Dalton by wearing navy and red and not blazers. Apparently I really hate this competition look... I thought S2 Regionals would be the losers but...
S2 Nationals:
I actually almost forgot this one! I hate it <3 the little flower at the bust for the girls, the empire waist, the white ties for the boys, it looks like they're wearing two tone shoes too 🤢 I just... no. Obviously they chose these before Kurt came back from the Warblers... huh maybe that's why most of the S2 looks are terrible. They didn't have Kurt there to guide them. Maybe the reason the only good look in S2 is the sectional's one is because Kurt maybe helped out with ideas before he transferred. Anyway I hate this look. It's boring while being way too busy, but also just black... idk i hate it.
S2 Regionals:
I love the original songs, Loser Like Me is Iconic, and sure these outfits are also Iconic but not in a good way! Those dresses are terrible, they look like bad bridesmaid dresses and they're both shiny and completely creased and the three quarter leggings are a choice. (I love the shoes though) Also the boys are litterally just wearing black, at least wear a matching tie!
S1 Sectionals:
The Only reason this is ranked higher than the S2 Regionals is the lack of leggings. it's just boring and also I hate the flats the girls are wearing and the way the belts sit just under the bust on the girls.
S1 Regionals:
Yes, this is Iconic, sure but... I've always hated it. ALL of the girls look pregnant, not just Quinn, the beehive hairdo is a Choice, and I'm not a fan of halternecks. Also the colour gold isn't the prettiest shade, and I hate the texture on the dresses. (that being said the dresses really remind me of this one I was givn from my cousin when she was clearing out her closet that I wore once for a New Years Eve party with friends in maybe my first year of uni in 2014 (or maybe the year before) except mine was black and strapless)
S5 Nationals:
Is there a reason for the pink flowers? or the pink in general? Like are they meant to symbolise something? The dresses are cute but I'm not the biggest halterneck fan and I think it annoys me where the belt lies on them because it looks like the dress is meant to be an empire waist and then it's cut awkwardly by a ribbon. It's a cute dress, why do that? I love the petticoats and the fullness of the skirt, and the shoes are cute. I don't like the boy's outfits. why are they keeping them buttoned the entire time? it makes the fit of them look awkward! the last time they wore white blazers (S3 secionals) they unbuttoned them as they danced and the lines looked better. I hate that I don't really like these outfits because I love the setlist so much and it makes me cry everytime.
S3 Sectionals:
Love it! The boys look interesting and dynamic for once, i love the tuxs(?) a lot and Quinn and Tina look so good 😍 I love thier skirts so much and their shoeessss! Kurt and Blaine were definately the ones to push for everyone wearing bowties.
S2 Sectionals:
again with the three quarter length leggings... and all of them are different lengths too, i mean i know it's 2010 but like... no! But i love this anyway. I love the ombre look and the shoes are adorable. I also really like the burgandy shirts the boys are wearing.
S4 Sectionals:
I love the dresses and the shoes and the boys outfits are nice with the blazers with gold piping but the girls dresses are just inferior versions of the S3 Regionals dresses, though i do prefer the wider band at the waist I miss the red petticoat and the neckline isn't as pretty or flattering as the S3 regionals dress.
S6 Invitationals:
I love these looks so much! Finally switching up the shirt colours for the boys again instead of them in just black or white! it's such a pretty blue too and the shades of the dresses and the shirt match! I love the lace on the girl's dresses (i just recently rewatched this episode and was mezmerised by the dresses) and the strappy heals are really cute.
S4 Regionals:
😍 the girl's dresses are so so so so soooooo pretty! I love the purple and the little belt and the fullness of the skirt and the neckline and the black petticoat anahsdkaghk. and the shoes are so cute too. Great look!
The boys however 😬 I don't like it. Why cardigans? They look like they're wearing school uniforms and ugly ones at that. The cardigans are baggy on all of them! I would have preferred maybe a simple black shirt rolled up the the elbows and purple tie combo, OR just a purple shirt with sleaves rolled to the elbows (kinda like S2 sectionals) also their ties are ever so slightly lighter than the girl's dresses and that is really annoying me.
S3 Regionals:
Yes. just YES. I love the fullness of the skirts, I love the red petticoats for some McKinley High spirit, I love the gold accents at the neckline and the belt and the headband, the girls also have these cute shoes too. And then there's the boys with their all black with gold accents! I love that too! I maybe would have had them wearing something red - maybe the shirts, maybe the bow ties, maybe the suspenders - but I still love the look!
S3 Nationals:
The t-strap shoes 😍 I love the cute sort of vintage style the girls have with the shoes and the hair! I would have maybe added a red lip on all of the girls to complete the look, like Rachel has and maybe had rachel have her hair up too, but I guess she's the lead soloist so it makes some sence to make her stand out a bit from the other girls. I alo love these dresses. I think my favourite dresses are the ones where they have really full skirts. The boys are cute and I like the matching pop of red in the ties but I maybe would have lost the vests, personally, and maybe they should be wearing bowties to match the little bow on the girl's dresses. hmm maybe all black with red bowties and a red belt/cumberbund as an inverted look of the girls and also maybe long sleaves rolled to the elbow.
Non ND competition outfits I love:
The Warblers!
Yes, their uniforms may uncomfortably remind me of my own School Uniform for Secondary (ours were red and black striped ties and solid black blazers with black skirts/trousers but close enough) but they are iconic 🥰
Harmony and whatever her Show Choir was called.
I love the boy's outfits with the untied bowties, but most of all I love the girl's dresses and the slicked back hair and red lips. I wish Harmony had been a sort of antagonist in S4 like it seemed they were alluding too with her line of "I'm only a Sophmore" I love her.
Vocal Adrenaline S2 Nationals
I think I just like it when the boys are wearing a coloured shirt, also these dresses are stunning and I remember wanting to find something like them for my Prom! (my Prom dress was kinda like these but long and one shoulder and not as poofy) - I also like the bohemian rhapsody look for the guys i just don't like the girl's dresses much
The Rainbow Connection dudes:
I hope they had more members than in this image... that is not a regulation team. BUT I love the fact that they look like butlers.
John Baptiste and his Show Choir:
Yes. the girls poofy dresses, the boys colourful suits, the costume change. just yes. these guys understand show choir. (however the turquoise of the girls dresses with the blue of the boys is annoying me)
S6 The Falconeers (or whatever)
I mean... they had falcons with them, plus cute turquoise dresses with sparkles, what's not to like!?

My thoughts on 13RW Season 4 (SPOILERS)
So I originally wasn’t going to write a review, because if I’m completely honest, I’m still in shock by that finale... but here we go...
Overall, I enjoyed this season a lot more than season 3. This time, we didn’t have Ani’s annoying narration, that weird crap that was Bryce/Ani and that Bryce “redemption” bullshit that the writers shoved down our throats last season, so kudos for that. Too bad the ending fucked everything up.
Now, let’s go character by character:
Jessica: Jessica has always been my favorite character (besides Hannah), so I was really disappointed by her arc this season... if we can call it that. Her reaction to Justin breaking up with her was really immature. I understand that she was hurt, but Justin was right, he wasn’t in a position to be in a relationship and needed to focus on his recovery, so for Jessica to go after the first guy she could find (Diego) to get back at him... it was shitty. Also, what the hell, Jessica? Diego spent the whole season tormenting Clay and defending Tyler’s rapist. Aren’t Clay and Tyler your friends? Why are you sleeping with someone who is messing with people you claim to care about? And please don’t say it’s for “information”, because you clearly liked him, even tho he was an asshole. Once again, the writers made Jessica’s storylines all about boys, first it was Alex and Justin, now it was Justin and Diego. And to give one final “fuck you” to her character, they implied she ended up with Diego. “Ask me in a month”, um, so it’s going to take you a month to get over Justin? Okay, cool.
Clay: I’ve always loved Clay. Always. He’s flawed, he’s stupid, he’s too stubborn... but he cares. I’ll say this tho, he was a complete ASSHOLE towards Justin during that party, and he should have apologized for all those awful things he said, because that shit was NOT okay. I appreciate that he got help, and Dr. Ellman was a fantastic character, but his arc got old real fast. Clay has some fucked up hallucinations, Clay has a breakdown and makes a scene in front of people, Clay claims everything is fine when clearly it’s not. We get it, he thinks he’s Batman and can handle all this shit alone. Well, clearly, he can’t.
Ani: I’ll admit, I actually liked Ani this season. I think it’s because her screentime was reduced (she missed big moments like the camping trip and the shooting drill), and she wasn’t inserting herself in everyone’s business like last season. I appreciate her standing up for her friends against Winston and apologizing to Jessica for sleeping with Bryce, but that NEVER should have happened. It was weird as hell how she kept defending Bryce in s3, insisting he wasn’t a monster (he was a serial rapist who raped your friend, how is that not a monster). Her “explanation” as to why she slept with Bryce was crap. “I was lonely and stupid”, well, aww!! Lots of people are lonely and stupid, but that isn’t an excuse to defend a serial rapist and sleep with him multiple times. And even before she slept with him, she kept hanging out with him, playing poker and laughing like nothing was wrong. Weird as hell. At the end of the day, I still don’t know who Ani is, other than “the girl who liked Bryce and then liked Clay.” I’m 100% grateful that she and Clay broke up, that was never going to work, so I’ll drink to that. It was also annoying how she and Clay took their sweet time to tell the others about Winston. STOP KEEPING SECRETS. I still insist that the writers should have kept Sheri and Ani shouldn’t have existed.
Zach: Seriously, where the hell was Zach’s mom to check on her son? The whole season was basically “oh, look, Zach’s drunk!!” He was a hot mess and all his friends didn’t do shit to help him until the last minute. I know Winston manipulated him, but seriously, telling the enemy that you beat up Bryce?? Not cool, dude. And don’t get me started on that scene where they “implied” he was going to assault that drunk girl. Zach has flaws, sure, but he ISN’T a rapist, and neither is Clay (I’m talking about that weird scene where he hallucinates Bryce encouraging him to assault that girl at the frat house). The writers clearly didn’t give a fuck about Zach. Remember in s2 when he told his mom he had suicidal thoughts?? What happened to that?? I’m glad he came to his senses in the end, but he obviously needed help with his addiction.
Tyler: I felt bad for Tyler because his friends didn’t trust him, but I also sorta get it. He was acting hella shady and I get that the cops told him not to say anything, but... dude, you scared the living hell out of Clay with those guns at the end of s2, how are your friends not going to be suspicious? Like in 13RW fashion, his storyline got dragged for too long, but I think he was right when he called out Clay and Tony about their friendship. I liked his friendship with Estela, that was sweet. But overall Tyler didn’t get that much to do this season. I didn’t like how they made him feel bad about Monty. Monty raped him and belonged in jail, it isn’t Tyler’s fault someone decided to kill him.
Alex: GAY KING. The only character who didn’t annoy me this season (besides Charlie). Bryce and Monty apologists, how are you feeling?? My boy didn’t go to jail like y’all wanted it!! No “justice” for the rapists!! Beautiful, amazing, brilliant. In all seriousness, I wish his crush on Zach had been explained a bit more. I don’t think it came out of nowhere, but it would have been nice to spend more time with it. I don’t know how I feel about the whole thing with Winston, he was a Monty apologist so I didn’t want to see another one of my faves sleeping with a rape apologist, so I’m glad he found out the truth in time. Charlie and Alex were so cute together, I wanted him with Zach, but I can’t bring myself to complain because ALEX GOT A HAPPY ENDING, YAY!! He regretted killing Bryce, but it’s like Zach said “maybe he didn’t deserve to die, but NEITHER DO WE”, and he was right. Alex didn’t deserve to have his whole life ruined over a fucking rapist, so I’m glad he got happiness. I just wish his recovery arc after his suicide attempt had been done better, he’s the only character in the show who is a suicide survivor and they never focused on that. Shame, tbh.
Tony: I don’t have much to say about Tony. He was being hella stubborn about not going to college and staying in town, so I’m glad his dad knocked some sense into him. He got a happy ending and got to see his sister again, so that was nice. Tony always had to deal with so much crap, so I’m happy he ended up happy.
Winston: Now this dude didn’t annoy me as much as I thought he would, but... he was weird. He became obsessed with Monty after meeting him twice, and then obsessed with Alex after dating him for two weeks. What was his reason?? Why did he fall in love so quickly?? I thought we were going to get some backstory to explain his behavior, but we didn’t get shit, except that scene in the first episode with his mom where he seemed like some lonely rich kid. I’m glad he let go of Monty in the end and didn’t ruin Alex’s life, but other than making a bunch of passive-aggressive comments and staring at people, he didn’t do much. The trailer made him seem like some mastermind villain, and in the end... he wasn’t.
Diego: How are you going to spend the whole season calling Clay a psycho/crazy, when you’re out there pulling pranks, beating people up, and defending a rapist?? Check yourself first, Diego. He was so annoying with his “I miss Monty” crap, like how are you going to give a big speech about how great Monty was when Tyler, the guy he raped, was sitting right in front of you??!! I wish he had faced some consequences for all the shit he did to Clay, like “omg, you brought a knife!!, dude YOU left the knife in there. I’m glad he let things go in the end, but JFC, he was annoying. When Zach told him to suck his dick, I cheered so hard.
Justin: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... HA. I’m laughing because I don’t wanna start crying again. Are the writers fucking serious?? After EVERYTHING they did with Justin, turning him into a better person, making him Clay’s brother, getting him back together with Jessica, EVERYTHING...and he dies?? And even before his death, they needed to torture him one last time and kill off his mom, have Clay and Jessica treat him like shit, and make him feel like nobody wanted him. Wow, what a brilliant idea. The series finale would have been perfect if they hadn’t killed off Justin. He deserved to graduate and live a long, happy life. I think the writers just wanted to have one final tragedy and controversial storyline, so they did this cruel and unnecessary crap. I’m disgusted, tbh.
Bryce and Monty: I’m so, so happy we got ZERO Bryce flashbacks and ZERO Monty flashbacks. FUCK these two rapists. I didn’t feel sorry for either of them, and I hope future shows do better and the humanizing of rapists stops. We already know rapists are human, they aren’t aliens who come from another planet, but the focus needs to be on the VICTIMS. I know they weren’t going to bring back Katherine Langford and Brandon Larracuente for a 5-second cameo, but hallucination!Justin should have been hanging out with Hannah and Jeff, not Bryce. Bryce wasn’t Justin’s brother, he treated him like shit and raped his girlfriend, and the whole “it’s okay to love people who do bad shit” is bullshit. There’s nothing wrong with hating rapists/abusers and bad people in general (like racists, homophobes, etc). Well, at least the two rapists are dead and can never hurt anyone again.
Say whatever you want about Hannah Baker, but this show suffered a HUGE loss when Katherine walked out of that door during her final scene.
They should have sent Bryce’s ass to jail at the end of s2, and the last two seasons should have been about ALL the character’s recoveries, with everyone getting proper characterization, good storylines, and focus on the friendships and family dynamics. The murder mystery and cover-up stuff ended up being really stupid and pointless. The writers prioritized shock value over proper storytelling, and that’s a shame because the cast is really talented, and the characters had the potential to be better than what they actually were.
Goodbye, 13 Reasons Why. I’ll check out the cast’s future projects, but the writers/producers can GTFO.

y’know the wildest thing still to happen to me on this hellsite was my first experience of sexting, sans nudes, that was done in front of at least 250-500 followers because of those horny anons i had in early 2013 when i was 17. instead of being exposed to it on my phone privately with a partner at that age, it was done publicly for the internet to see lmao. i remember begging the anons to stop and “come off anon” because i was “losing followers” at the time too bc i was so insecure about my follower count lmao. and then yeah when they came off anon they were both 28 years old.
to write the responses, i just consulted cosmo mag sex pages for ideas hoping that the anons would like the options i chose. in one i detailed doing anal- a sex act i hadn’t even done yet irl- let alone every other thing i suggested in them (head, idek long, drawn out foreplay, some stupid fancy sex moves that cosmo was all like “use these moves to spice up your sex life 🔥🔥”, sex in a bath, i’m pretty sure i had some lines about tying or handcuffing them to a bed (????) etc etc etc)….
when again, i had never even done any of those above sex acts in real life. i was a naive teen who was incredibly shy in regards towards her love life because she’d “never been kissed” and had never had the “hot emo boyfriend whose in a band and is covered in tattoos” she’d always wanted, let alone even a boyfriend that she had actually fucking liked (ie clear braces boy, for like a month in year 9/2010 vs the popular boys that made fun of her, that she always had unrequited crushes on)…. hell, my blog title when i first started on here in 2011 was “the perfect epitome of being forever alone” because of these very reasons. but here she was, writing explicit sex acts to strangers like she knew what the fuck she was doing, to an audience of 250-500 people- and then to fucking grown ass men in inboxes. i was just parroting the shit i’d read in cosmo (both sex advice and sometimes excerpts of erotica/“sexy, steamy reads” they had some months) and also heard repeatedly in the porn that my high school stalker/creeper at public school loved to show (harass) me with to flirt with me, whenever we were alone together at school in 2012/2013.
like you could tell how naive i was….. because i used ridiculous lines like “like a gentleman entranced, you lead me to the bath for our next foray” and dumbass prose-y things like that. because what the fuck does that even mean 😂😅????
and this is why i think minors should be careful with their online experiences. like yeah, you could say that i wasn’t a minor anymore- more of a “young adult”- who should of made the smart decision to not engage with these anons. but i was a kid. i thought it was fun. and when the dudes came off anon, i thought to myself “it’s not like i’m ever gonna meet them if i ever go to the US or puerto rico at any point. it’s not like that they’ll ever recognise me in person or ever reach out to me again in the future. i might as well do it.” and i did eventually end up ignoring the guys in my inbox, due to my mental health kinda plummeting from the middle til the end of 2013 because of my end of high school exams and stuff… and also the puerto rican guy’s infamously inappropriate “hot PE teacher fucks HOT female high school student in the girls change room showers” fantasy which fucking disgusted me, when he full well knew that i was STILL IN high school.
and obviously again, there’s the point about using the “block” button function. but as i’ve stated several times over my years on here, back in my early days of tumblr, i never wanted to block or unfollow people (even if they were trash like these two men), because it seemed so “mean” and “final”. obvs now i have no qualms about blocking people, and actively encourage younger people on here to use the block button with reckless abandon towards creepy people or people who can hurt them in some way. but to high school teenage me, the whole “using the block button” thing seemed to go against me being a “nice girl/person” so i never used it, no matter which social media platform i was on.
this is why i’m hella scared for young teen girls on tik tok wanting to have onlyfans accounts: because it’s where they’ll be exposed to ACTUAL CREEPS AND PREDATORS incredibly quickly; all because they can make money off selling images of just their feet or eventually their body….. depending on what these creepy strangers demand from them….. and they’ll feel like they’ll have to do it…. but to do it before you even start experimenting properly with relationships and sex is even worse. like. yeah. i’ve admitted before that i originally started this tumblr to possibly post nudes, to see if i’d get the positive feedback that i so desperately wanted/craved from the boys in my year at catholic school- eg. to be called “sexy”, “hot”, “fuckable” possibly “beautiful”- like some of the so called “popular girls” got on their hella basic bikini photos back then (like i remember one girl i knew ended up with like 500 likes and a fair amount of comments on one of her bikini pics and i was INCREDIBLY BITTER because not even a pic of me with a nice outfit on, my hair done and makeup on could EVER get those numbers, let alone even break over the double digits).
but i decided posting nudes or other explicit images on here was an absolute no go, because i realised that i never wanted people that i knew digging up barely clothed/naked pics of me and sending them to me all like “hey, is this you?” and then possibly mocking me, all because i would’ve been dumb enough to put my face in them probably at the time. now when i take nudes and send them, i never show my face. because i know now, that even in relationships, your partner can use nude pics as leverage for arguments or to abuse you in such a way that they’ll upload your pics without your knowledge to god knows where on the internet probably as a way to get back at you in a horrible breakup.
this is what i sincerely hope some young girls who ever contemplate starting onlyfans accounts take some time SERIOUSLY CONSIDER. please know that if you share shit on onlyfans, it can shared and re-shared (i think idek how OF works tbh) to god knows who- and eventually end up in the hands of people you know. i don’t fucking care if it’s a “good way to make money!” or if people think that im trying to stop teen girls from being “girl bosses” and the other dumb as fuck internet memes you want to throw at me. because this shit isn’t “haha internet meme funny” material. it’s some fucking serious stuff. and also, i’m not saying “don’t become a sex worker when you’re older” or whatever either. you’re free to make that choice when you’re in your 20s (no i even mean 17-19 year olds in this post as “young teen girls”- sorry you’re basically kids to me at almost 26). just please consider where the fuck your stuff can be shared to. who it can end up being shared with or to.
this is why i was so fucking adamant with my infamous old follower mr adelaide fuckboy/MAF that i personally would NOT consider becoming a camgirl for him or just generally… because i had no idea where the fuck my images or videos would end up. and do you know the places i’d never want them to fucking be??? in the hands of my high school stalker/creeper. in the hands of those two 28yo men from 2013 (who’d now be in there late 30s or early 40s). i absolutely don’t want them in the hands the mid-to-late 20s and early 30s men that that girl i met at public school in 2012 who was pissed that i didn’t believe that were “adults” because we were finally over the legal age of consent (16) in our state of australia, and so we were apparently fine to “fuck” literal grown ass men because “just fuck them and they’ll be nice to you!!” which i knew was fucking bullshit.

As requested, books / series I read in 2020 in the order I read them, with a few brief thoughts. (This took me a hot second because there are a few and also I moved cities) Should I keep a consistent goodreads? Yes I should but I didn’t think of that at the time, so bone apple teeth & sorry if I offend you abt your faves x

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas - This is one of the most vivid published fantasy books I have ever read... I read it twice in rapid succession. The fandom POPS off. I must say I have issues with certain aspects e.g. fae lore completely ignored à la Twilight, all love interests 500+ years old and technically a different species, etc (I’m not going to deconstruct the entire series here but just know that I could... Nesta deserves better)
Cruel Prince by Holly Black - This fucking slaps, HB clearly has done her research, the lore is near immaculate, and it explores the Fae in such a unique way, tying it to the modern world subtly and seamlessly. My only qualm was that the books felt quite short; truly wish there had been more content.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas (6/7) - So basically I read this in one single, hyperfixated fit which meant I literally locked myself in my room for three days straight and read all six books back to back in a row from morning to the wee hours. Which is not to say it was spectacular; although it was a VERY rich world, sometimes it was too much... this felt like 6 stories in one. Ik she was young when she wrote this but it is my humble opinion that SJM needs a better editor & I personally think Rowan is a grade A asshole / straight up abusive (& personally think the ACOTAR Tamlin plot was born from that?). It’s good but not as good as ACOTAR. Skip-read the last book.
Grishaverse (Shadow and Bone) by Leigh Bardugo (3) - This is essential to read before SOC but was very much simply a YA fantasy book, although the world was cool and the way the love plot played out was, imo, a subtle middle finger to the fantasy trope. Felt very much aimed at younger readers though? Really liked the sandwhich structure of the Proluge and Epilogue, especially in #2
Six of Crows series by Leigh Bardugo (2) - INCREDIBLE continuation of Grishaverse, better than the original series by a mile. It has the range, the diversity, the representation (the male lead is a disabled asexual and still the most cunning of the entire cast of characters), the plot is phenomenal, and it manages such a well rounded plot in only two books which means nothing is stretched out or squeezed in more than need be. Deserves all the praise it gets.
King of Scars series by Leigh Bardugo (0.5/1) - Personally I don’t consider this book canon, and while it’s nice to see the rest of Nina’s journey & the world again & everyone else, I don't like it. I will, however, be reading book 2 when it comes out, so shame on me, I suppose.
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo (1/1) - this was incredibly cool although it went off in a completely different direction than I thought it would based off the first few chapters? One of my favourite YA-author-debuts-New-Adult novels in 2020 though!
Crescent City by Sarah J Maas (1/1) - This was supposed to be SJM/s New Adult debut, although personally I would put her other series in New Adult, and I can’t say a remarkable amount was different with this except they said “fuck” and “ass” a lot. WHY is the romantic interest 500 years old AGAIN. I just... don’t... I just don’t think it was necessary... the world was cool though, and the last half of the book was riveting, but the beginning was quite slow and I thought the sword thing was predictable. I am interested to see where this goes though.
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (3) - This world is so fucking cool... four Londons aka parallel universes & the one in ‘our’ world is set in industrial era London. Magic, girls dressing up as boys, thieves, pirates, royalty... it all just slaps. Schwab is an incredible writer & I was completely immersed.
Midnight Sun by SMeyer - I didn’t think anything could possibly detract even further from the Twilight story but I was sorely mistaken... seeing the stalking from Edward’s POV - and it was worse than depicted in Twilight, for the record - completely obliterated any sort of romance the first half of the original book may have portrayed. I still hold the opinion that the entire series would have been better if some kind of vampire lore had been abided by, if only to see all of the villains thwarted by someone dropping a bag of rice on the ground, forcing them to have to count them all.
An ember in the Ash by Sabaa Tahir (3/4) - This was just a very stereotypical ya fantasy series, emphasis on the YOUNG... it wasn’t anything to write home about but I remember quite enjoying it at the time.
The Power by Naomi Alderman - This book is FUCKING incredible and EXCEPTIONALLY thought provoking... essentially women alone develop a power of electric shock etc. and then take over the world from men, and it explores feminism and the balance between equality & tipping the scales in the other direction. Written by a friend of M.Atwood in a similar tone to handmaids tale, I would say? Content warning; there are some exceptionally graphic scenes in the latter half of the novel.
Hamlet by Wllm Shksp - I can’t believe it took me this long to finally read it but Ophelia is my favourite name in the entire world & we love to see a woman go batshit (although she didn’t deserve that).
Catherine House by Elisabeth Thomas - this was unsettling in the best sense of the word... it was a little slow & honestly more of a concept than a big reveal, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it after I finished it? A Secret History vibes but make it blurry like the memory of all those dystopian novels you read when you were young?
The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue by V.E. Schwab - This is without a doubt my book of the year, and probably the best book I read in 2020? I stayed up all night on a friend’s couch reading it, got a book hangover and reread the ending, and then thrust it upon my mother who doesn’t usually read but read this, and loved it just as much. HIGHLY recommend and you HAVE to read it, it’s beautiful and endearing and just plain wonderful.
Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat (3/3) - I went into this knowing it was going to be terrible, because I had received a blow by blow telling me as much; although I must say that it did learn a remarkable amount of new words, the books did get better as the series went on, and it did have a rather charming ending? BIG content warning for almost everything.
Sapiens by Yuval Harari - mind-expanding & must recommend for everyone, there is everything in this and I daresay everyone should posses this kind of knowledge? I listened to it as an audiobook (which I recommend because it’s rather hearty) but will be buying this in hardcopy & rereading it with annotations.
Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller - Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful novels I have ever read, and certainly the most beautiful portrayal of the story of Achilles and the battle of Troy I have ever seen. Patroclus deserved the justice that was given to him in this book; indeed, all of the characters were written with justice and grace. Highly recommend.
Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan (3/5) - Apollo is my favourite Greek God, and the sexiest greek god, and Rick Riordan’s writing slaps, as always. It did pain me to see Apollo, the sexy immortal, have to be forced back into a 16 year old’s body but everything else? Whimsical & wonderful, as expected.
These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong - a retelling of Romeo and Juliette, except it’s set in Shanghai in the 1920′s, and the protagonists already have a history. Very well done, characters are incredibly diverse in race, sexual orientation, gender, and ability / disability (and honestly, representation has never appeared so effortless and elegant). Also it includes a monster and possible magic. Incredibly underrated and highly recommend.
The Once and Future Witches by Alix. E Harrow - this was such a unique concept, and truly captivating, the story was charming, and felt like the kind of beautiful fairytale you would read as children but with more grit? ABSOLUTELY recommend this one
The Pisces by Melissa Broder - I hated this so much, not my vibe at all. Mermaid smut x therapy but make it cynical and judgemental (I know there was a moral in there but that’s not my point) also the dog dies.
Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith (1/2) - really interesting & unique concept (all unwritten novels / ideas reside in a special library that is part of Hell and then sometimes the books can come to life) however, my first thought upon reading this was “this reads as if it’s stemmed from one of those writing prompt tumblr posts” bc of the tone and whatever and as it turns out I was somewhat correct, it did stem from a short story (not bad just obvious). It did kind of settle down as it went on but I found reading it kind of a drag, and I don’t think I will read the second one.
Abandon by Meg Cabot - 1. Meg Cabot’s writing always fucking slaps 2. Hades and Persephone but make it modern & very 2000′s & somehow kind of unique 3. I literally loved this, sue me
Medusa Girls (Sweet Venom) by Tera Childs - Like Percy Jackson except they are descendants of Medusa so they are Gorgons and have fangs & venom (hence the title). Gave me very 2000′s vibes? Quite cool but tbh I found the books quite short (like two hours each, if that)? Do NOT read the GoodReads description of the book before you read it, you will spoil it for yourself.
Bring me their Hearts by Sara Wolf - In my opinion, this is one of the most underrated YA series I read in 2020. The heroine is endearing, self aware, witty, and loves to look pretty even while kicking ass which in my opinion is an incredibly underrated trait. Also, immortality without being hundreds of years old? VERY sexy. HIGHLY recommend.
A Deal with the Elf King by Elise Kova - High commendation to be given for the fact that it is a standalone and yet manages to fit in the plot of what would usually be a full fantasy trilogy without cutting corners or being a million miles long? Also sweet storyline & beautiful ending? If you liked ACOTAR you should read this as a “what would have / could have been had SJM had a different editor” (No shade I promise).
The Iron Fae by Julie Kagawa (4/4 + novellas) - Incredibly detailed faerie set around the modern world & our current use of technology & iron in it. Very neat adventure-style series, by the time I read the last novella I was well and truly done with the world (aka provided enough content to be fulfilling). Was definitely aimed at a younger audience though, NO smut / smut was brushed over.
The Modern Faerie Tales by Holly Black (3/3 SS) - This is technically the prequel to Cruel prince, set in the modern world, but with the fae world inside it as it traditional? All I have to say is that it is excellent & I highly recommend it.
Bridgerton series (The Duke and I) by Julia Quinn (9/9) - I read this after watching the Netflix show twice through and I am obsessed, although the books were not quite as elegant as the show, and some parts that made me cringe either by their portrayal (it is very firmly set in the 19th century and thus some things are not handled with tact or grace), the characters were exceptionally loveable and I am so excited to see where the show takes them! Lovely language & an abundance of words I had never seen before (always a plus).
