Common Ground (2/3)
Tumblr media
Pairing(s): Idia Shroud/Reader
Warning(s): Symptoms of Depression, Reader is g/n, reader uses (they/them) pronouns
a/n: If someone tells me to stop I swear I will
After that day, you frequented the Shroud brothers in their shared room. Oftentimes, Ortho would sneak out unnoticed, and leave the two of you alone. You and Idia geeked out about loads of things. But it wasn't long before something else had stewed in the school, and you were dragged elsewhere.
"What did you want to talk about?" The floating tablet asked.
"I'm being forced as the manager for the boys in the VDC, so I won't be able to hang out for the next month or so." You explained, your sadness evident.
"What? But we haven't even got through season 6 of 'I'm An Old Lady but my Husband is a Hot Vampire!' Or gotten through the boss rush in-"
"I know, I know," you whined "But it's only for like a month or so," you tried to rationalize it, but you sighed say it out loud.
"Normies have to do normie things, It's whatever..." He said as he abruptly hung up. He knew this was coming. You were social, and he wasn't. You have shared interests, sure, but you lived two completely separate lives. You came from another world for the seven's sake.
He got up from his chair at his desk and flopped on to his bed. He pulled up his tablets receiver and called it back so he'd have something to do. He'd always been alone, this wasn't anything new.
He didn't want to admit he'd grown attached to you.
~
Idia was in trouble. Two weeks had passed since the last conversation you had. His grades were slacking, his mood was lacking, and most importantly, he could barely focus on staying at the top of the leaderboard in every game he played.
"This is the worst..." He mumbled as he logged off his computer. Usually he could handle trash talking, making up for it with his skills. But lately he'd been all bark and no bite.
He didn't want to leave his room, but worse than usual. He didn't want to play games anymore. He didn't want to do anything. He only wanted...
He knew what, and why, but he'd be dammed if he admit it.
'At least, out loud...I won't say I...-'
His thought was interrupted by Ortho coming back from his usual social hour around the school.
"Brother! I have a message for you." He greeted,
"Trash it..." He mumbled as he walked over to his bed.
"It's a recorded message from the prefect." He added, Idia froze his steps. Every day you sent him messages or chats about how you were doing. He ignored them all, but you never stopped.
"...play the recording..." He said quietly. For the first time in two weeks, he heard your angelic voice.
"Hey, Idia..." You sounded so dejected...why?
"I don't know if you've been getting my messages or my game requests, but do you want to play Karma: The Revenge with me...? I've got some time tonight, ah, you can have Ortho send me a reply...or you don't have to reply at all...I just wanted to see if you...mm, nevermind, let me know your answer, okay?"
"Recording ended." Ortho chirped. Oh great seven, you sounded just as depressed as he did. He was sure you were entertained with practicing with the VDC boys. They had to be good, right? But here you were wanting to play games with him, like you had been all week.
"T-Text them a reply..." He said slowly,
"What do I say?"
"I don't know! I haven't talked to them in two weeks! I've been so out of it and downright depressed- I just- send them something I would say!"
"Sent."
"Great, what did you send?"
"What you said."
"Huh?"
"You said send them something you would say, so I sent what you said."
"...huh..?"

The Luminary (1/3)
Tumblr media
Pairing(s): Belphegor x reader, Mentions of Beel
(a/n): Instead of 1 or 2 long parts, how about 3 short ones? Hm? What do you mean 'I'm only doing this because I'm lazy?'
Warning(s): Reader uses they them prounouns
If there was one thing you and the Avatar of Sloth shared together, it was your laziness, inherited from your life before coming to R.A.D. Of course, after meeting him in his full glory, you realized he far outmatched you in his listlessness.
Oddly, you found yourself motivated by his apathetic attitude. Ambition to do better. Ambition to be better. Through all your adventures with the brothers, you found yourself growing by the day. As a way to thank him, and not because you wanted to be close to him or anything, you made it a point to show him the fruits of your labor.
You went to the kitchen and filled a glass of water.
You traveled to his and Beel's shared room. You entered the room without knocking, and sat next to his bed.
"Belphie? Did you have any water today?"
"...mmmm..."
You thought not. You set down the glass of water on his nightstand, and exited the room shortly after. To keep yourself busy, you opted to do a single chore off the list. It ended up being sweeping the kitchen. Aside from dust though, there wasn't a single crumb on the floor. No surprise there. As you watched the clock for a bit, you opted to go check on Belphie again. Not because he looked cute sleeping, certainly not that, but because you cared about his well-being.
You entered the room without knocking, knowing it could rouse him from his slumber. You quitley creep over to the side of his bed where you set the glass of water. Only to find the glass completely empty, aside from a few water droplets stuck to the side. You chuckled to yourself.
"Belphie? Did you eat at all today?" You ask.
"...mmmm..."
You took that as a no. You briskly made it to the kitchen and grabbed a plate of crackers, placing it next to the glass of water. As you were leaving the room, you ran into Beel who was entering.
"Oh, Beel, I left Belphie a plate of crackers since he hasn't eaten all day. Don't eat it please!" You ask, clapping your hands together. You carry on your way, missing Beel's disappointed face as he enters his room.
He saunters over to Belphie's bed as he sees the plate that used to have crackers on it, empty.
"Belphie..."
No response.
"I know you're not asleep."
"......no....."
Belphie sat up, and turned to face Beel. His face was red, his hair and clothes disheleved, he looked a mess.
"What...were you doing?" His brother asks
"Nothing nefarious...I promise" He responds slowly
"Then...?"
"It's (Y/n)...I can't sleep when I'm around them. I can barely think." He could think of one thing though, you. You're efforts to court him didn't go unnoticed, but being locked away for so long, reciprocation of affection felt foreign to him. But he did know one thing. Seeing you so adamant, it motivated him to change. Motivation to do better. Motivation to be better.
He could feel his resolve solidify as he looked at the plate and the glass, and got out of bed.

33.3% Are Pretty Good Odds
Tumblr media
Pairing(s): Sabro Sabnock/Reader, Mentions of Balam
(a/n): I may or may not have written this while high, I'll never tell
Warning(s): Kidnapping if you squint, that's really it, reader uses they/them pronouns
~~~~~~
"This wasn't supposed to happen!" Sabnock screamed as he hurled a bronze sword into a training dummy. He struck it repeatedly as he ranted to himself.
"I'm supposed to be the best! I'm supposed to be the demon king!" He said, emphasizing his words with his sword.
"But that... cursed demon...KEEPS GETTING IN THE WAY!" He finished, beheading the training dummy. Balam clapped from the sidelines as Sabnock wiped the sweat off his forehead.
"How do they get in the way?" He pondered, the blonde growled.
"They just do! I can't stop thinking about them! The way they smile! The way they talk, and say nice things all the time! And the way they're always talking about how they 'believe in me'!"
"Mhm, and how do they make you feel?" Sabnock paused for a moment, his anger all but vanishing at the thought of you.
"Like there are devilbats in my stomach, and my chest feels like there are horned felines inside it! It's so distracting!" He was unusually quiet, and Balam noticed his face was a little red.
"I see..." The teacher started, "I think you might be in love."
"What...is that?"
"Hm?"
"What is 'loove'?" This made Balam think, and hard. What truly was love in a world crawling with demons? He talked to Iruma about this, so that gave him an idea.
"Love is a feeling for someone that you'd do anything for them. You'd do anything to make them happy. And when they're happy, you're happy." He lectured, Sabnock paid attention in full.
"Then, if I am feeling love, how do I make them feel love?"
"Well...the only thing I can think of is..."
~~~
Sabro Sabnock was on one knee, with one of your hands in both of his.
"Marriage is a sacred institution in our culture!" He yelled for everyone in the hallway to hear.
"M-Marriage!?" You could feel your face turning scarlet. The whispers of the on looking crowd were now deafening.
"It begins with loove, to be sure, but what does that mean? People say they loove chocotale...is that the same as the loove we need for a solid marriage? NO! The loove we need comes from being willing to make those sacrifices. The loove we need comes from being committed to -"
"S-Sabnock! What are you saying!?" You stammered out.
"What do you mean!? Isn't it obvious!?"
"No!?"
"I'm professing my love to you!"
"What!? Why!?"
"I love you!"
"Eh!?"
Sabro Sabnock had been defeated.
~~~
"This wasn't supposed to happen!" Sabnock screamed as he hurled a bronze sword into a training dummy. He struck it repeatedly as he ranted to himself.
"I'm supposed to be the best! I'm supposed to be the demon king!" He said, emphasizing his words with his sword.
"I think you moved too fast. Try a different approach, and I think you'll succeed." Sabnock awed in understanding.
"Thank you, Balam-sensei! It is customary for humans to have children before marriage, right!? Then I'll take a step back just like you said!"
"W-Wait, I don't think-"
~~~
"(Y/n)! I have a gift for you!" He exclaimed, once more for everyone to hear.
"Yes? What is it?" You asked, noticing his hands behind his back.
"This!" He said proudly while holding-
"IS THAT A DEMON CHILD IN YOUR HANDS!?" You shrieked, Sabnock chuckled proudly.
"That is correct! I hope this child will solidify our bond together as we-"
"GIVE IT TO ME, NOW!" You yelled out, though you weren't sure why. Part of you wanted to comment on how cute it was. Part of you wanted to ask him where he found it, and part of you wanted to run away. You comprised by asking where the baby's parents were.
"It has none! It's an orphan!"
You immediately bolted off for the nearest adoption center.
~~~~
"ARRGGGH!" He yelled while repeatedly striking a training dummy.
"Nothing! Is! Working!"
Balam could only sigh in a mixture of disappointment, dissatisfaction, and disbelief
"How about you just tell them how you feel? In a private place. With no gifts. Or any yelling. And maybe a smile?" He suggested, Sabnock agreed a little too quickly. But he hesitated before rushing off to see you.
"But, Balam-sensei, what do I say?" The teacher pondered for a moment before giving his response.
"Exactly what you told me."
"What? Like how my stomach feels like there's devilbats inside it?"
"Yes, exactly that."
"Hmm,"
~~~
"(Y-Y/n)! You make my stomach feel like it has devilbats in it!" He was so blunt you'd think he struck you with his weapon.
"What?"
"I-I mean! You make my chest feel very warm! Like horned felines inside it!"
"T-Thank you for being so...honest, Sabro. But what do you mean to say by all this?"
"I-I...I like these things you make me feel, and I want to feel them more! Balam-sensei told me this feeling was called love, and I want you to feel these feelings too," He got onto both his knees in front of you, and bowed until his forehead touched the ground. The base of his wings were open and genuine. "Please, let me love you!"
You stood sound and speechless, you could barley breathe. You felt like you were floating on top of clouds, eating the sweetest candy imaginable, drinking the warmest milk ever. You'd never felt these things before. This was love?
"Sabro, I will let you love me until the end of my days, all I ask is you receive my love in return." You kicked yourself, knowing what you said was too convoluted, but Sabnock took it in stride.
"Of course, anything for you. You make me feel incredible, do you feel it too?"
"I do! I'd love to love you! I-I mean, I love you!"
"I love you too!"
No lies detected at all, Balam let out a sigh and a chuckle while sorting through papers.
"1 out of 3, not bad," He muttered

Common Ground (1/3)
Tumblr media
Pairing(s): Idia Shroud/Reader
Warning(s): Reader is g/n, reader uses (they/them) pronouns
a/n: If you thought the last story felt rushed, you're not gonna believe this...
Idia loved his younger brother to pieces. Often, he regrets how much he does, as he'd do anything for him. So when Ortho burst through his door one day after school,
"Brother! Brother! I made a new friend!"
He knew he was in trouble.
"That's great Ortho," he said, his headphones still on one ear.
"They're so awesome and friendly!" Ortho beamed.
"That's cool Ortho."
"I invited them over today to 'hang out'!"
"YOU WHAT!?" He nearly yelled, his headphones were fully off and he was now very attentive to what his little brother was saying.
"I invited them over today," He said, not picking up a hint of dissatisfaction from his brother, "they informed me they wanted to meet you so we could play together!" He said with his childlike innocence shining through extraordinarily.
"Ortho! You know how I feel about people! Do I even know this person? What if they don't like me because I'm such an S-tier NEET. No, not just S-tier! We're talking UR+ weird! What-"
Idia's rambling was interrupted by a knock on his door, and Ortho quickly floating over to open it. Seeing no way out of his situation, Idia quickly headed for his closet. He soon found himself too big to fit, and too little space inside.
"(Y/n)!"
"Ortho!...Idia?"
Yeah, he was really regretting giving in to his brother all the time. This was one of the worst situations possible. Ortho hadn't befriended just anyone, he'd befriended you. The prefect from ramshackle. The perfect prefect from ramshackle
He could feel his face getting hotter than his hair, and his PC, which was still on the game he was playing.
To save him from embarrassing himself further, and to break the awkward silence, you turned your gaze to the computer. Your eyes lit up in recognition of the character on the screen.
"Wow! Is that The Magical Ruri Hana: Demon Girl: The Game? I didn't pre-register so I haven't heard much from it. It's it good? Does it do Ruri-chan her 'Sparkling justice?'" You struck a pose to match your words. Idia instinctually turned around faster than you could see, to match the reference you'd made.
"'The center of justice that is pierced by love!'" Idia started,
"'Magical Ruri Hana!" You both finished, striking matching poses. You burst out into a fit of giggles, and Idia immediately regresses into himself. He can't believe he did something so embarrassing, and out of instinct too. More are equally important, he heard another voice start giggling.
"Wow! That was truly spectacular from both of you! You were completely synced!" Ortho cheered as he clapped, a scrapping metal sound coming from his hands.
"Thanks, Ortho!" You accepted his praise happily, you looked over by his closet to see Idia resting his head on it, likely wishing he'd just disappeared already.
There was a silence that didn't seem to be broken soon. You didn't know what more common ground you had than one game, and you were sure Idia wouldn't do anything to quell it, so you-
"Do you want...to play?" Idia mumbled. You barely heard him, had he not been one of two people in the room you were focusing on, you wouldn't have heard him.
"Y-Yeah, I haven't gotten a chance to. Grim dumped all our assignments on me so I haven't had time to myself recently."
'I always have time to myself' Idia thought. He shuffled to pull up a chair next to his computer as he sat in his gamer chair. He saved his progress and quit the game, opening a new save file for you. The title screen flashed on his computer, and you started humming the theme song. Idia hummed, softly, with you, while Ortho used his voicebox.
He took one look at you and Idia both at his computer and opted to quietly exit the room.

A Chance Encounter (2/2)
Tumblr media
Pairing(s): Xiao/Reader (Reader is up to interpretation)
Read part 1 here
a/n: Haha queued posts are so funny because now you can't tell if I spent 8 hours or 8 minutes writing haha...
Warning(s): Irrelevant backstory, Implied (side character) death Mention of thoughts of suicide if you squint, Not proofread in the slightest
Xiao was quiet for a moment, a long moment. He breathed deeply before relenting.
"Bonanus...was a good friend of mine, but you likely knew that," He started, "Us Yaksha were created to fight, and she...fought in her own way."
Xiao seemed to glow dimly as he told the story, his companion, once so lively, was now only a memory.
"Despite many adamant warnings, she took on Zhēnxiàng as her lover. A truly humble and attractive man, I'll admit. She loved him, and knew she would continue to love him for the rest of her existence."
You felt your heart pang at the sad story, but that sadness quickly faded into anger. If she loved him so much, why would she abandoned her family? It didn't make any sense.
"Soon, the...a war started, and we received a call to action from Rex Lapis. We could not rest until the evil was quelled. Unfortunately, it came at the cost of their lives, sanity, or both." He spoke, his breathing turned shaky, but returned to normal after a few labored breaths.
You were conflicted. This isn't what you heard, but you never heard the full story in the first place. A summon by Rex Lapis, to ignore him would be to choose death one way or another. There was still resentment toward her.
"Why didn't she say anything?" You asked, puzzled. Xiao looked at you just the same.
"She...did,"
"So, Zhēnxiàng didn't tell anyone?"
"It appears that way."
"Then, my whole life, I've grown with a hatred that's been misplaced?"
"It...appears that way."
You felt a strange sensation, almost...empty. There was nothing left for you to do, no ambition left to chase. There was a distinct lack of feeling, lack of drive, a lack of...
"What...is going to happen to me?"
"Hm?"
"My purpose...what do I do now?"
"Your...purpose..." Xiao pondered. The Adepti, the Yaksha, everything you knew about them was so wrong. You hadn't even expected Alatus to respond to your probing, yet here he was thinking up advice for you. You were a clean slate, anything he said, you'd have no choice but to follow it. How could you reject it? An immortal being cleared you of the evil collecting in your soul and was going to give you something to live for.
"The people."
"Hm?"
"Your purpose will be for the people. To serve and protect the people in Liyue. Shall you ever cause harm to them, I, Adeptus Xiao, will strike you down. Do I make my intentions clear?" He seemed to glow once more, your eyes reflected his light, in your sights, he seemed akin to a God. This was your purpose, given to you by the last Yaksha. Your new-
"Master..."
"Huh?"
"Master Alatus..." You mumbled as you fell to your knees in a bow.
"A purpose is what you've given me. My devotion is what I give to you," You muttered, almost as if you were in a trance.
"I see, you are not complete without a purpose given to you," Xiao observed your form on the ground. You did not offer him an answer.
"Very well, I've given you what you wanted. You'll pay your debt to me when I encounter you next," Xiao commanded. You smiled in your kneeling position.
"Of course, master Alatus."
"Xiao."
"Of course, master Xiao."

A Chance Encounter (1/2)
Tumblr media
Pairing(s): Xiao/Reader
a/n: All I have to say is, thank you Grammarly. I don't think I mentioned this, but posts are weekly, so that's neat. This short series is enemies to lovers, it's only two parts so don't expect anything too juicy. I think that's it.
Warning(s): Mentioned side character (implied) death
The Yaksha were known to be powerful, they we formed by Rex Lapis himself after all. It'd be foolish to mess with them, get them angry, or even sin in their presence. They were the ones who purged the evil monsters of this world, who wouldn't worship them?
You. You didn't want to worship them.
It was a little-known fact, but they all descended into madness! They became the monsters they killed for so many years. It was an ugly truth, but a truth nonetheless. It was only a matter of time before insanity claimed the last one. Then they'd all be gone with the wind.
You aren't a child, you're hatred didn't stem from nowhere. The Yaksha named Bonanus was the one who started this. She fancied one of your ancestors, Zhēnxiàng. He was truly a gentle soul, no one could hate such a humble and truthful man. You heard stories about him all the time. But between Zhēnxiàng and Bonanus, it wasn't long before they had a child. The stories you heard say their daughter was only about 10 years old before the archon war started, and what did the hydro Yaksha do? She abandoned her family and left her husband to die. Why? Who knows.
So when you saw the last of the Yaksha, wearing the same mask you've seen in artwork passed down, you didn't know what to think. First, it was...
"A...Yaksha?" Then it was...
"A YAKSHA!?"
The people, well...person, you swore to hate had appeared in front of you. You felt so estranged and bewildered. So before you could-
"Hey!" You called, to the retreating figure, and he paused. So did you. What were you going to say? You didn't even mean to call out to him. You settled for the one thing you'd say to Bonanus, were she alive. As you went to open your mouth, the Yaksha narrowed his eyes and said nothing as he suddenly disappeared, in a burst of anemo.
"Stupid Yaksha..." You mumbled. It suddenly clicked who you'd just met. A Yaksha! Just like the one from the stories of your predecessor! He probably...no definitely knew Bonanus and why she left so suddenly. But he was gone now, what was his name? He was the anemo yaksha, right?
"Bosacius?" No, he was...electro. Indarias? Menogias? No, no, that doesn't sound right.
"Alatus?" You mumbled, you weren't expecting him to answer, he probably went by a different name. So when a spear appeared at your throat, and the man was suddenly behind you, you went stiff with surprise.
"How do you know that name?" He asked, no, demanded. You steeled yourself quickly.
"I know all about the Yaksha," You started "And all about their descent into madness. My entire family is itching for you to join them in the afterlife."
"I see, so our past actions have affected you and your lineage greatly," He lamented. He gently lowered his spear from your neck, giving you the opportunity to turn to face him.
His beauty startled you. His golden eyes pierced through the field you were in, shining in the darkness. Your eyes then went to his glowing green hair, his anemo vision looked to be recently used.
"Y-Yes, exactly. My blood is repulsed at the sight of you," You sputtered. What rattled you most was that he looked genuinely upset. He understood your situation so clearly and you hadn't even said anything. This is not what you learned about the yaksha.
"Hmm," He hummed, his husky voice tickling your ear.
"I go by a different name. Adeptus Xiao, I will be there when you call." He swore, you attempted to hold your tongue, but you failed.
"Is that what you say to everyone you save?" You asked, Xiao, didn't answer.
"If that is all, I will be taking my leave." He told you.
"Wait-" Your body lunged forward in an attempt to stop him. You hit your face against his chest and quickly stood up.
"I need to ask you some questions about Bonanus."

Gather round, one and all! It’s Story Time!
A very warm welcome to all! I’m here to honor the people and show them what they want. I do both self-inserts as well as write for ships, all pairings are welcome. My fandom list is a little scrambled right now, but they’ll be in the Masterlist
For fics that are 18+ there are things I don’t write for and things I write for only for specific fandoms, but I'm generally pretty open to a lot of things people are into. I don’t know exactly what kind of things I’ll find, but let’s put them on a case-by-case basis.
I'll try to post every Tuesday
Other Mentions/Rules
No shaming for any reason, this includes myself and others
I’ll do my best to be consistent with series, but I make no promises (especially because life is unpredictable)
That should be it, I look forward to writing for you all!

This is hilarious, I was also lookin' for another otome and I found ARR too! I really like it so far, Nachi will always have a place in my heart even if I think koga is hot
I'll look for some more otomes as well!!
I recommend playing A3! and Ayakashi Romance Reborn if you're looking for some rebound games (the gameplay is actually quite similar to AFTERL!FE'S). ARR has different routes, but they're all really good so far (just a warning, but Yura's route really doesn't leave you the same); the last chapter still has yet to be released but they have different events to keep you occupied. A3!'s storyline is just beautiful. It's an emotional rollercoaster, but I promise you that it's all very worth it.
Ahhh!
Thank you very much I’ll look into these!
Just did some research the characters on both look hot!
I’m a little more interested in ARR because I hadn’t heard of it before and the bois look really nice 🌚🌝

OH I GOT IT!! I'll help you since I'm sad :,)
So basically Ethan was a Noble who was sent to protect a prince of someplace I forgot the name of who's father had just died. He swore an oath to protect him not because he was told to, but because he wanted to carry the legacy of his family name.
Ethan was probably the best bodyguard you could ask for and he was a knight captain too, so he trained all the newbies. One day someone tried to assassinate the prince he was protecting because he was coming of age to be the king and his uncle (who was the current king) didn't want that.
Ethan then conducted an investigation to find out who the traitor was in the kingdom and found out it was someone the current king had hired just like he suspected and an army would attack the kingdom for the prince in a few days.
But just as luck would have it, Ethan had to be away from a mission soon so he wouldn't be able to protect the prince. So he told the vice captain of the knight to take the king to the next kingdom with a letter he wrote explaining the situation.
It was around this time Ethan had remembered just how close he and the prince had become, so he decided to stay behind and fight the entire army by himself, he was powerful with close combat, but then they started using bow an arrows from a long range and Ethan ended up getting shot.
His wish for his kaleidoscope was to protect the prince forever since his death broke their promise
Ethan is such a good guy 😭
(Sorry this was kinda long but I hope this helped!)
Y’all if anyone has Ethan’s back story I’d love to see it.
I don’t think I’ve enough time to get it and his letter made me curious of his story.
So if anyone’s is willing to share, thanks💖
