Why Tronos Madu's death still annoys me
How 3Below handled Tronos as a character and Aja's relationship with him annoys me to this day
You have Aja meet a character who at first thinks is a regular bounty hunter, but finds out not only does he not care about the bounty, but the reason he's doing this in the first place was cause her family, her parents left his planet, his home, his people to die. You have her start to realise that maybe her parents aren't the perfect and honorable rulers she thought they were. So the next time they meet she promises to not only help him, but his planet....only for him to be left behind and killed off in the next episode with no one even mentioning him (including Aja)
Not only do they kill Tronos off way to early to get attached to him, but they have Aja do something that her parents did, leaving someone to die and not thinking about it, we don't even get a scene where she finds out that Tronos's was killed
Not only does it have Aja come across as a massive hypocrite, being angry that her parents did such a thing but then she basically does the same. But it was such a wasted opportunity to have Tronos grow as a character and even give him a potential redemption arc (like he could've been Angor Rot but not been murdered immediately after he turns good)

I've actually been working on a rewrite of the film (still in the early stages) this is genuinely one of the most disappointing film I've seen in a long time
As flawed as the third film was, especially with it going over board with the jokes and how it handled Kai as a villain, you could tell that the people who made it genuinely cared and it still had some amazing moments (the talk that Po and Li Shan have about Po's mother is genuinely one of my favourite moments in the entire trilogy) I agree that Kung Fu Panda 3 isn't perfect, but I do think it's a bit overheated
But with the 4th film it lacks the soul of the original trilogy, there are some good ideas that had potential (the Chameleon for example being able to transform into her enemies is a really cool idea) but this film feels more like it wanted to cash in on people's nostalgia rather then genuinely wanting to continue Po's story
If there was one word that perfectly describes this film to me, it would be slimy. Especially when you find out the production of the film and how Dreamworks and the director treated the co director
Why I don`t like Kung Fu Panda 4
@kfpenjoyer helped me with writing and editing this post
I recently watched KFP4 and didn’t like it. So in this post I want to express my thoughts regarding this installment. If you haven’t seen the film yet, then, firstly, I sincerely envy you, and secondly, beware of spoilers!
1. PO:
Tumblr media
We’ll start right away with the main character and his ever-repeating question «if I’m not a dragon warrior, then who am I?». The filmmakers apparently forgot that in the previous film Po had already fully realized who he is, and also became a teacher (by the way, doesn't this mean that he has essentially already become a spiritual leader? (editor's note: I don't think so, but Po's becoming a teacher is definitely was the first step towards becoming a spiritual leader in the future. But, like, in a VERY distant future)). But the fact that Po is already a teacher, and therefore a spiritual leader, is not remembered at all in this movie.
My next question is, WHY THE HELL DOES NO ONE OUTSIDE THE VALLEY OF PEACE KNOWS ABOUT PO?! Sure, like it doesn't really matter that he is the successor of Oogway, who should be known throughout all of China. Who cares that Po defeated a dangerous criminal who was able to escape from the most secure prison. Who cares that Po stopped a mad warlord who was trying to take over China and killed a legendary kung fu master with a weapon never seen before. And who cares that Po also defeated the strongest warrior from the past who literally rose from the dead (editor's note: and also captured all the kung fu masters throughout China, so it was simply impossible not to know about the existence of Kai, and, accordingly, Po ). Pfft, apparently for the people of China it's just an ordinary Tuesday.
Next complaint is about the election of a new dragon warrior. What is the reason for this? Why did Shifu decide that it was necessary to elect a new dragon warrior at this particular time?! Neither Po nor Shifu yet know about the existence of the Chameleon, so why the hell is there such a rush (by the way, they decided to choose the dragon warrior from some random people, and in the competition for the position of dragon warrior, the candidates demonstrate only their strength. Unlike the first film, where Oogway chose from the Five, about whom he knew much more. And need I say that the title of dragon warrior should be awarded for the internal qualities of a person, and not just for physical training)? It's just that in the first movie, Oogway and Shifu decided to choose a dragon warrior because there was a threat of Tai Lung's return, but what is the reason for choosing a new dragon warrior in this movie? What, Shifu was already about to die and decided to transfer all his responsibilities to Po (editor's note: I personally think Po should be the first and last dragon warrior. He can teach kung fu to others and spread his knowledge and wisdom without being limited to focusing on just one person. Like, that's exactly what the ending of KFP3 led to...)?! Speaking of Shifu...
2. SHIFU:
Tumblr media
WHAT THE HELL DID THEY DO TO SHIFU?! Why does he behave so unhinged in this movie when he wasn’t like that in the previous installments?! It's just that I really like Shifu's arc from the previous films. How from a strictly and tough mentor he gradually becomes much softer and wiser, acquiring inner peace. Just compare Shifu from the first movie to Shifu from the third movie. I really doubt that Shifu from the first installment would have taken Po's failure as a teacher at the very beginning of the third film so calmly. And his attitude towards Poe changed from irritation to acceptance. Now forget about that wonderful character arc! Because in this fourth movie, Shifu becomes a fucking hysteric and everything Po does annoys him again! Just fucking great! Even in the first film, he was just a very strict master, not a psychotic fucker who is annoyed by everything and everyone. Not to mention that in the third movie Shifu's behavior is calm and balanced, and, unlike Shifu from the fourth film, who is simply puts pressure and forces Po to become a spiritual leader, Shifu from KFP3 gives Po time so that he can accept his new position as a teacher, and only gives instructions, and does not force him to make decisions on the spur of the moment!
And also this whole thing with Shifu’s jealousy towards Po is a complete crap, because if he really was so jealous of Po, he would not have been able to achieve inner peace in the second movie.
3. MISTER PING AND LI SHAN:
Tumblr media
Why did they turn a loving goose father who, although he worries about his child when Po goes on a mission, still believes that his son can succeed (like at the end of the third movie) into a mother hen, who worries about Po over every little thing?! In the previous films, when Po went to fight Tai, Shen and Kai, Ping did not panic and did not follow his son around like an overprotective parent (in the third movie he followed Po because he was afraid that Po would decide to stay with Li forever, and not out of fear that Po would not be able to defeat Kai). And in the third film, of the two dads, only Ping believes in Po’s capability from the beginning, while Li Shan starts to believe in his son’s victory only after a conversation with Ping (before that, Li simply wanted to protect and hide his son from Kai in their secret village).
Li Shan has the same issue as Ping: he also was turn into an overprotective parent, although in the third film he learned to believe in his son`s capability. If this was not the case, then Li Shan would oppose Po's plan, in which Po would have to fight Kai one-on-one.
But aside from Li's senseless overprotectiveness of Po, it seems like the writers of the fourth installment forgot about certain events of the second movie, which is why Li doesn't feel any concern about being in a tavern whose main customers are wolves. And then, at the end of the movie, he`s just hangs out in the same room with Shen, again without the slightest concern, and does not show any reaction at all when he sees the peacock. Because it absolutely makes sense! Shen just simply killed Li’s wife, killed a bunch of Li’s fellow villagers and friends, and because of Shen, Li was separated from his son for 20 years, and peacock also tried to kill this very son, but hey, these are such little things! Why hold a grudge over something so minor, right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It also infuriates me that both of these characters (Ping and Li) are constantly yelling and acting stupid, although neither Ping nor Li have shown such behavior before. And in general, if they had not been in this movie, then essentially nothing would have changed (Zhen could have gathered the thieves to fight the Chameleon alone).
4. ZHEN:
Tumblr media
This is our new dragon warrior and she's just plain boring. Seriously, her backstory is the most banal thing you could come up with (a thief who has had to survive on the streets since childhood and is who also an orphan). And the plot twist about her being sent to steal the staff by the Chameleon is not only obvious, but after that comes the most annoying trope in all of media – liar reveal. By the way, the reason why Po decided that Zhen knows something about new threat is as far-fetched as possible. Well, that is, after Zhen was caught trying to steal the staff, Po immediately finds out that Tai Lung is supposedly back again, and after that he goes to the fox and says that “she definitely knows something,” but what exactly gave him this idea?
Oh and also, why the hell does the hired thief of the main villain, who lives in a huge castle and constantly collects tribute from her subjects, have no money for food or to rent a boat, so she has to steal money from others? So, like, the Chameleon gave Zhen food, clothes and a place to live, but she doesn’t give her money for various needs. By the way, in a city that seems to belong to Chameleon, Zhen is somehow wanted and could be put in prison if she is caught... what the fuck? This is really stupid. Imagine if Boss Wolf could have been arrested for dangerously driving a rickshaw through the streets when Shen took over the Gongmen city.
5.THE CHAMELEON:
Tumblr media
Remember when the fandom considered Kai to be the weakest villain in KFP franchise? Well, now, compared to Chameleon, Kai looks like the standard for a well-written villain with a clear goal that doesn't contradict with their actions.
Firs of all, comparing her to Po simply does not make sense, since Shifu refused to train Po because Po was just some random guy with no kung fu skills, who also literally just fell out of the sky right during the dragon warrior selection ceremony. And because of this, he was chosen as the new dragon warrior, and not Tigress, whom Shifu trained for many years, and then some simpleton from the village just ruins everything. So I’m pretty sure that if Po were some kind of bull or rhinoceros who also didn’t know kung fu, Shifu would also dislike him and refuse to train him (editor's note: there is no point in denying that Po was treated with prejudice and outright hostility partly because he is a fat panda, but this was far from the only reason. For instance, Tai Lung could escape from prison at any moment, and it takes time to master the skill of kung fu, no matter how gifted a person is).
Chameleon was refused to be taught kung fu because, according to her, she was too small. And this is sounds stupid as fuck and is undermined by the existence of Master Mantis and Master Chicken (editor's note: and also Master Shifu, Master Viper, and even Master Frog, whose statue and painting can be seen in the Jade Palace). By the way, Mantis was a good fighter even before he became a student at the Jade Palace (this was shown in the short film «Secrets of the Furious Five»). Who taught him then? Or is he just self-taught? Then Chameleon's whining about not being able to learn kung fu becomes even more stupid. And based on her words, I got the impression that she only tried to enroll in one or two kung fu schools, and after receiving a couple of refusals, she got so angry that she decided to learn magic and take over China (and wow, how original! Because none of the previous villains had a similar goal).
And here two more questions arise: firstly, MAGIC IS A THING IN KFP UNIVERSE NOW?! Moreover, this is not explained by the power of chi or connection with the spirit world, as was the case with Kai, NO! THIS IS JUST FUCKING MAGIC!! Which is not even known how it works! The chameleon just says that she decided to learn magic and that’s it! Who taught her magic? Are there other magicians in the KFP world? Can anyone learn magic or is there a predisposition to it? Movie will not answer these questions for us! And yes, I remember that in the previous installments there was also an element of mysticism (prophecies, visions, chi, spirit realm), but all this had a certain limitations within the world. But in this film we are immediately told that KFP is just fucking fantasy now, wow!
Second question: HOW DOES TAKING OVER ALL OF CHINA RELATE WITH HER GOAL TO BECOME THE GREAT KUNG FU MASTER?! I mean, when Shen says that he wants to conquer China, this doesn’t raise any questions for me because this goal was paramount to him (that’s why he started experimenting with fireworks). But Chameleon`s main goal is to become the most powerful kung fu master, and how will the takeover of China contribute to this goal? Perhaps flashbacks from the past would help to better understand the motivation of the new villainess, but spoiler: THERE ARE NONE! Yes, you heard right, Chameleon is the only villain who does not have any flashbacks, and her entire backstory and motivation just told us in a few lines from her. And some people even wonder why out of all the villains most of the fans empathizes with her the least (btw the funniest thing is that Zhen has at least 2 flashbacks, while the Chameleon has none).
Another reason why Chameleon doesn't evoke much sympathy is because she doesn't have a character or characters that she could have feel affection for (like Tai Lung towards Shifu, Shen towards his parents, and Kai towards Oogway). The only character with whom she has some sort of connection is Zhen, but the problem is that Chameleon herself doesn’t really care about the fox, and she took her in not out of pity, but because she just saw potential in Zhen and wanted to use her skills in the future. She literally says out loud that she doesn’t care about the Zhen`s feelings. And here the question arises: why Zhen continues to work for Chameleon, who not only treats her like a tool, but also does not provide her with safety from the laws, which could lead to Zhen`s imprisonment (editor's note: well, it's possible that Zhen may see Chameleon as a mother figure, or simply be afraid of disobeying her, but as far as I`m aware, there is no hint of this in the movie)?
Perhaps the filmmakers did not want to make the Chameleon a tragic villain, but rather make her more frightening and ruthless. The problem is that she doesn`t do anything actually scary. She doesn’t even kill anyone in the entire movie, the most she can do is push a random guy down the stairs (I really thought that this guy would be killed, since he argued back the Chameleon the most and incited others to rebel against her)... wow how scary. So yeah, for the time being the most terrifying villain in KFP franchise is Shen with his genocidal murder of pandas and also murders of master Rhino and Boss Wolf.
I also noticed that every villain of the previous installments has their own cool scene. For example, Tai Lung has his prison escape, Shen has the destruction of the tower, Kai - destruction of the Jade Palace, but Chameleon... there is no such scene. The only cool thing she did in the movie was turning into a huge Godzilla-chimera thing, but firstly, in terms of scale, it’s not even close to the above examples, and secondly, this scene is too short.
By the way! In the first minutes of the film, the Chameleon appears in the guise of Tai Lung and begins to destroy a random quarry for… what? If she wanted to attract attention to herself in this way, then why did she send Zhen to steal the staff? In general, the new villain is not only weaker in terms of fleshed out backstory and motivation, but she’s also fucking stupid for revealing herself like that just to show off her cool ability. (For those who haven't seen this movie: no, she hasn't absorbed Tai Lung's chi yet. The Chameleon can take his form, but she can't fight like him without absorbing his chi).
6. TAI LUNG, SHEN AND KAI:
Tumblr media
I just hate how writers and directors handled the return of previous villains. And if you went to the cinema to watch this movie only because of the return of the old villains, well, you can come about 15 minutes before the end of the movie, because that's when these characters appear. If in their place there were any other characters or just some furniture, absolutely nothing would change.
And now more about each villain:
Tai Lung: Of all three villains, he is the only one who has at least some lines. And congratulations, filmmakers, you've just wasted a great opportunity to show the interaction between three legendary villains of this franchise! Shit, I'm not the only one who sees great potential for comedy here, am I (editor`s note: also the fight scenes between these three could be AWESOME)? Also, as I said, Tai Lung only appears at the VERY end and he has a max of 2-3 lines, so you can consider Tai on the posters as a clickbait and fan service that was added only to attract old viewers. You want to know if there was any interaction between Tai and Shifu? Well… There was none! Moreover, Tai Lung does not even think about his master, so you can just forget about emotional and touching scene of the reunion of student and teacher.
Also this scene there Tai Lung admits that Po is the real dragon warrior after witnessing Po defeat the Chameleon is just pure cringe. So… when Po defeated Tai Lung in the first film, he did not perceive Po as a dragon warrior until the very end. But now, when Po would have lost in the battle with the Chameleon, if not for Zhen’s help, Tai Lung simply admitted that Oogway made the right choice! Bullshit!
Lord Shen: I'm ready to rip the filmmakers' hands off for how poorly they handled his return! I believe that Shen's death in the finale of the second movie was the best completion of his arc. The moment when his own weapon falls on him and he finally comes to terms with his fate, due to which he finds inner peace. BUT NAH, SCREW THIS GREAT ARC FOR THE SAKE OF FANSERVICE!!! Also, Shen and Po don't even exchange a few words, although out of all three villains, Shen was the one who had the greatest impact on Po (editor's note: he was also objectively Po's most personal villain)! And Shen's reaction to Li literally does not exist! Because it`s also makes a total sense! After all, the guy who was so obsessed with killing pandas wouldn't give a shit that there was another panda left alive! And the final scene of the film, in which all the summoned masters, including Shen, bow to Po is complete bullshit! There is no way my prideful crazy peacock would do that!
Kai: It's even worse with him. Do you remember that in the finale of the third film, Kai was literally split into atoms in the spirit world? He was erased from both worlds! But, apparently, the creators read only a brief description of the third movie because Chameleon has no problem summoning him along with the rest of the villains. Well, now thanks to this bullshit, the ending of the third movie doesn't make sense at all! Because if Kai is not completely erased and he is reborn again in the spirit realm, then what prevents him from gathering chi of dead masters again and returning? It's not a happy ending anymore, it's a vicious circle. And at the end of the film Kai calmly enters the portal with the others and does not even think about escaping to start collecting chi and try to destroy Oogway's students again which is absolutely unfounded and goes against Kai’s goals and motivation from the third movie. And just like Shen, Kai has absolutely no lines, despite the fact that he was probably the most talkative of the three villains.
And before I get off the topic of returning villains, I want to say a few words about the their new models: they are just terrible. This is especially noticeable with the texture of Shen's clothing, and with the texture of Kai's fur (editor's note: I don't think we should blame the animators for this, since the Shen and Kai `s models had to be done at the last minute. But we can safely blame director Mike Mitchell for the fact that the long-awaited return of the previous villains turned out to be a complete failure :))
7. FURIOUS FIVE:
Tumblr media
This is just fucking awful! Their appearance only in the credits of the film is nothing more than jangling keys in the face of fans. So, do you remember how everyone used to joke that with each new installment Five was more and more relegated to the background? Well, now they are not even minor characters, but extras in the background without a single line. And I don't care that filmmakers didn't have enough budget to hire voice actors for the Five and for the past villains. Because a logical question arises: why the hell was it necessary to show them at all? Just to piss off fans??
And in my opinion, Tigress deserves to become a dragon warrior much more than Zhen. Zhen does not care about the fate of China. She decided to help Po only because she realized that Chameleon didn't appreciate her. And fox didn't care that she helped the main villain carry out a plan in which innocent people could suffer.
8. CHARACTER DESIGNS: The designs of the new characters do not fit KFP stylization at all. Apart from the Chameleon and her henchmen, the rest of the new characters look as if they have escaped from Zootopia. But Kung Fu panda had its own unique way of stylization, for example, different patterns on characters' faces and bodies. Zhen, despite being the second main character in the film, looks like she was designed by Disney. In addition, there was also a problem with the clothing design of most of the characters. The clothes of the background characters are too colorful and do not match in color scheme, which is why it starts to ripple in the eyes during scenes in Juniper city.
9. THE MESSAGE OF THE FOURTH MOVIE MAKES NO SENSE: Firstly, I think it's very hypocritical to push a moral about not holding on to the past in a film that is literally milking a franchise that ended 8 years ago. Secondly, this whole plot point about Po having to pass on the title of dragon warrior to someone else contradicts the message of the first film. Because the movie made it clear that there is no such thing as a dragon warrior title (there is no secret ingredient). Having this title doesn't make you special because it's all about you and how you see yourself. «To make something special you just have to believe that it's special». Remember this idea from first film? But creators of fourth installment don’t seem to remember! Because now dragon warrior is a specific title that can be passed on to a specific person. And you can forget about the message about the importance of believing in yourself, it is no longer valid. In comparison, the ending of the third film now seems much better to me, as Po passes on his knowledge and skills to not just one person, but to many people (editor's note: I seriously dislike the way this film went from having the teachings of kung fu ubiquitous to kung fu being something more limited and elitist again, if I may say so. In addition, a situation similar to what happened with Tai Lung may happen again in the future).
10. CONCLUSION: I hate the fourth film and refuse to accept it as a continuation of the legendary trilogy. You may like this movie and I don't blame anyone for that. But for me personally, the fourth movie is complete garbage, which I will rewatch only to laugh at the stupidity of the script. The only good thing for me in about this movie is that it reminds how awesome the first three films were.

The wolf and The Match Girl
(Tw: this story obviously has topics of death, but it also deals with the topic of physical abuse towards a child, while the act isn't shown and just talked about, if this topic makes you uncomfortable or distresses, it's ok to skip the story
Also if you haven't read The Little Match Girl and want to read it, there will be spoilers so again if you want to read the original fairytale blind, feel free to skip)
The air was cold tonight, snow littered the street on this quaint town with the only light source being the lamps that stood tall and the moon and stars shining below. The streets were deathly silent, with only the sound of the wind blowing, the laughter and cheer of the people inside bars and their homes, and the sound of snow crunching under the paws of a hooded figure as he walked through the streets silently as he whistled a soft haunting tune
Death's job was never easy, not every human ready to pass was an elderly person who lived their life to the fullest, or a cruel ruler getting what they deserved. There were times where it was a young person who got too drunk and didn't watch their footing. Sometimes it was a new mother that couldn't handle the stress of childbirth. Sometimes...it was a child, suffering from the cruelty of the world
And he had a feeling that is who was next
When he walked passed a alley between two houses, he stopped when he heard a strange sound coming from the back. At first he thought it was a dog whining, but when he heard it again, it sounded like a person quietly coughing
Curiosity took over him as he slowly made his way down to the alley, keeping his paws on his sickles in case it was a trick or an ambush. He heard the sound again this time it was closer, his eyes landed on a few barrels that were stacked on top of each other. He carefully moved one of the barrels and what he saw made him stop dead in his tracks
A young girl was sitting beside the barrels, huddled up into a ball as she shook like a leaf from the cold. Her dress was old and torn, with only a old scarf wrapped around her in a vain attempt to keep warm. The girl looked up with fear in her eyes and shielded herself with her arms, as if she was anticipating an attack
"It's alright pequeño, I'm not going to hurt you." He said in a soft gentle tone. He kneeled down to her level as he pulled down the hood of his cloak, revealing his face to her. He took the appearance of a wolf, his fur was as white as the snow on the ground, with the only form of color aside from the grey patch on his face was his bright red eyes that looked at her with sympathy. "What is your name?"
The girl lowered her arms slightly when she realised he wasn't trying to harm her. "M-Mary, my name is Mary." She said in a soft voice, he almost didn't hear her. "Who...are you?"
"I'm just a traveller wandering through this town" He said, he knew that she was already scared so telling her who he was would only scare her more. He then noticed beside her was looked like the burn remains of what looked to be matchsticks, and he then noticed in her hands was one more unlit matchstick. "May I sit beside you?"
Death saw Mary looking unsure for a moment, but eventually she nodded. When he got the confirmation he carefully sat down beside her and stared at the wall as Mary kept the match close to her. After a minute of silence he spoke"If you don't mind me asking...why are you outside on your own?" He asked, still stating at the wall. After a moment Mary spoke
"I was scared to go home..." Mary said softly. Death immediately turned to look at her as she continued. "I was ment to sell these matches to someone, but no one is interested. If I go home to my father without selling them and earning even a penny....he will be very angry" She finished as she held the match tighter to her chest
Death could feel the anger growing inside him. How could a father let his anger out on his own child? Why was she the one sent outside to freeze while he sat on his ass by the fire. He took a deep breath to calm down. "Do you have any other family with you?"
"No sir, my mother died when I was a baby, and I lost my grandmother not too long ago." She muttered as she weakly rested her head on his shoulder. "I miss her dearly..." She said as her eyes begun to close
Death could see her growing weak, she had nowhere to turn to, she had no one. He knew he couldn't leave her like this to suffer. "....I know where your grandmother is"
Mary opened her eyes when she heard that. "You do?" She asked
"Yes." He said before standing up and offering his hand. "If you wish to see her, follow me please" Mary thought for a moment, before reaching for his hand. Death gently helped her up as he walked her out of the alley. "What was your grandmother like?"
"Oh she was the kindest, most loving women I've ever met. We use to sell matches together. Every Christmas she would make a lovely roasted goose for all of us. After we ate we sat by the tree and she would sing till I fell asleep. I remember she use to tell that when a shooting star passes, it was some making their way to heaven" She finished as they walked out to the street
"I see...she seems like a nice women" Death said as they made it to the middle of the town. "Here we are, she should be here"
"Where is she?" Mary asked as she looked around. "I don't see her"
"She's here, all you need to do is light that match" He told her and pointed to the last match she had
At first Mary didn't want to and was starting to think he was lying, but believing she had no other choice, she lit the match. She watched the match slowly burn for a few moments before she heard a soft, old voice behind her, a familiar voice
"Mary?" It said, she turn around to see an older women walking up to them from the snow
"Grandma?" She said, and the woman gave her a warm smile. "Grandma!" She ran to her as fast as she could and hugged her tight, tears falling from her eyes. "Oh grandma, I missed you so much!"
"Oh my dear Mary, I'm so sorry I had to leave, I missed you too." The woman said before looking back at Death with the same old smile. "Ah! There you are my old friend, thank you for your help"
"Of course my lady, its a pleasure helping you" He said watching them with a soft smile
She smiled back before looking back at Mary. "Come on Mary, let's get you warm and fed" She said and begun to head out to the snow. Before Mary followed she ran up and hugged Death, which caught him by suprise, but after a bit he hugged back
"Thank you sir, you really are a angel" Mary said as she hugged him
"Your welcome, and take care" Death said as she let go and nodded before following her grandmother into the snow, both smiling and laughing as Death waved bye
A few hours passed and the sun started to rise as Death was heading out of the town. He stopped when he saw passers-by all at the alley where Mary was, whispering towards one another
"The poor thing, she was left out here all alone to freeze?" One women said
"Look at the matches on the ground, the poor girl was trying to warm herself up" A man said
As Death got closer he saw what they were talking about. Beside the barrels was Mary's body, she layed there like a statue not even her chest was moving. The passers-by were too shocked and upset to notice the peaceful look on her face, a soft smile still visible
Death sighed gently as he continued walking, he knew Mary wouldn't have made it, so he had spend her last few moments with her, trying to comfort her before he brought her to her grandmother to be reunited. He made it out of the village and into the snow covered field. Looking up he saw a few stars still in the sky
That was when he saw a shooting star fly pass in the sky. He smiled softly
"Have a safe journey pequeño" He said as he lifted his hood up and walked out into the field, whistling that haunting but also comforting tune once more

My thoughts on Kung Fu Panda 4 trailer
So kung fu panda 4 finally released its first trailer and too say that people have been split on it would be an understatement. All and all I'm still keeping my expectations modest I thought this trailer was actually pretty ok, I've have seen a few people say that it looks awful and while I do think it's a bit overblown, I would be lying if I said that I wasn't still worried about this film, so I wanna share my thoughts in the most neutral way possible while also being fair with both its positives and negatives as a Kung Fu Panda fan
●I've seen a few people say that the animation is a downgrade from the others I have to disagree. From what I've seen it mostly looks similar to the third film, the colours especially are quite nice, though I did notice some on the movement be a bit janky. I've also seen some say that the models look bad but I don't see it, there are some changes like they seem to be a lot more expressive but I wouldn't go far as to say that it's a bad change
●One criticism I do agree with is that the furious five seem to be absent in this film, not even Tigress. I do hope they do appear or at least explain their absent because it is weird not to include or even mention them but there apparently gonna have both of Po's dad's appear (don't get me wrong I love Mr Ping and Li Shan, it just I don't think they have a point to be in the story from what I've seen)
●The Chameleon honestly has a lot of potential, not only is it nice to have a female villian in the film, but also the whole concept of her being able to bring people back to life but also even transform into her enemies is such a brilliant idea and really plays into her species
●Tai Lung fans are eating good tonight with him finally being on screen again since the first film. I'm curious if he's only gonna appear in that one scene we see only to be sent back to the spirit realm after the Chameleon takes his powers. If that's not the case I'm curious if there gonna go with the route of giving him a redemption arc. I've always been split on the idea, on one hand I think the tragedy of Tai Lung and how he could've changed is what made him a fantastic villain as well as show the flaws of Shifu as a character, but on the other hand GIVE THIS BOY A HUG! HE DIDN'T DESERVE WHAT HE WENT THOUGH!
●In general the movie seems to be keeping the lighthearted tone from the first film which I'm kinda mixed on, don't get me wrong I like the third film but I do wish they went with a similar tone with the second film, where it was able to be both funny but also wasn't afraid to get dark. I understand that Kung Fu Panda is for the most part lighthearted but its shown multiple times to be able to be lighthearted while also handling mature themes
To close this off I think there are some people are overreacting when they say that the trailer is awful but I also see why a lot of people are unsure about this forth film myself included

Another problem with the characters is how they took Arthur who was a genuinely interesting character and turned him into a irredeemable villian just so they could make Morgana seem less evil
Arthur though had his flaws and was one of the reasons Morgana turned evil, he had a lot of depth and genuinely loved his sister and even during the battle of Killahead he tried to fix his mistakes. But after he was killed and brought back to life as the green knight all that depth went out the window to turn him into a generic villain
You could argue that he was acting this way because he was being mind controlled by the Order, but that does out the window when Claire and Morgana go to the shadow realm to see his and Jim's souls, while Jim is his usual self, Arthur has done a complete 360 with all of his development completely thrown out so that he can say that he's 'too far gone'. They even have the gall to have Morgana call him 'a disgrace to Camalot' and 'not worthy of Excalibur'. This is said by the same character who tricked Angor into giving up his soul, stole troll CHILDREN so she could create the changlings, was the one who gave Gummar his sword and his power to control others minds, possessed Claire so she could break free and kill Jim, and was the one who started the battle of Killahead AND The Eternal Night
They took a interesting and complex character like Arthur and turned him into a irredeemable villian just so they could try to redeem a character who did not deserve it. I'm not against the idea of wanting to give Morgana depth as a character, but the fact that they forgot or outright ignore all the awful stuff she has done annoys me so much
Why I don't like "Wizards"
In general, I think that the "Stories of Arcadia" began to slide after the release of "Three from Heaven", but more on that later. In this post there will be many comparisons of "Wizards" with "Trollhunters" due to the fact that they are a direct continuation.
1. The first thing I didn't like was that the narration was too fast, and if this is still acceptable in the first series, then in the rest such narration begins to annoy, because it does not allow you to delve into the story and concentrate on at least one action.
For example, already in the second series, a lot of things happen: the arrival at Arthur's castle, the interaction of Claire and Morgana, the acquaintance of Jim and Deya, Steve becomes a knight, the trolls escape from Camelot. Of course, there are episodes in which the narrative goes normally, for example, in 4 episod, but basically the story does not have the ability to concentrate on one moment and continues to throw out new information to us.
2.The second problem, for me personally, is the characters. 1. I really didn't like that Steve's intelligence was cut so much, he wasn't a very smart character before either, but he could still come up with interesting ideas to solve problems (for example, when in the second season he guessed to use umbrellas to help trolls), but then they made a complete jerk out of him who, throughout the entire viewing, only irritates with his tantrums. If you remove him from the series, literally nothing will change, because his "knight's arch" didn't really lead to anything. After the battle of Kilahed Bridge, he says he will continue Lancelot's cause and bring back the Knights of the Round Table, but in the end he did nothing of it. 2. Another character who, in my opinion, has become worse in "Wizards" is Claire. I'm the only one who thinks that in the two weeks she spent in Camelot, she became too good at using shadow magic, considering that she studied with Douxie, who himself said he didn't understand anything about shadow magic. And even after becoming such a professional magician, for some reason she still can't guess to open a portal under Jim and only then, after escaping from the fortress of the Secret Order, try to bring him to his senses, BUT NO! Instead, she tries to convince Jim to enter the portal himself, and when she tries to open the portal under him, Morgana has already arrived by then, and she has to retreat. 3.The third character is Douxie. I immediately say that I do not hate him, the only thing that confuses me is his age. He is 900 years old, just think about this figure! And with all this, he behaves like a teenager who is 18-19 years old. The authors are trying to show us that he has changed since the events in Camelot by showing his younger version, but these changes can happen in a maximum of 2 or 5 years, BUT NOT IN 900 YEARS!!!! While watching it, the thought did not leave me that it was a 900-year-old man who, for some reason, continues to behave like a teenager.
4.Morgana. After The Wizards, I hated her. The authors tried to make her an ambiguous character, but in the end they created a bunch of plot holes. In Wizards, she says she wants to help all magical creatures, but in Troll Hunters, when Angor asked her for help, she tricked him into serving her and killing Merlin's champions. She also stole troll children and used creepy experiments to turn them into changelings (also against their will). Yes, even in the series itself, she contradicts herself when she gives Gunmar a sword that can control the mind. 5. The secret Order. I have no doubt that the authors came up with these characters only when they were writing the script for "Wizards", and that they did not exist initially. Because after the battle on the Kilahed Bridge, they say they will now try to change the world. AND THEY DECIDED TO DO IT ONLY AFTER 900 YEARS!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!! You say that they have been recovering all this time, but I will say that only Belrog needed to be restored, and the rest of the Order members could try to carry out their plan to steal the seals alone. AND WHERE WERE THEY WHEN GUNMAR AND MORGANA ARRANGED ETERNAL NIGHT?!!?! I very much doubt that magicians of their level would not have felt such a strong release of magical energy.
3.Plot holes. There are too many of them! Literally in every episode I noticed one or another plot hole. Of those that were very noticeable: 1. Deya could not be the first hunter because Kanjigar said that troll hunters tried to kill Gunmar many times, but never won. 2. Morgana couldn't create a changeling in a couple of days, which also grew so fast. 3. When the moment came to conclude a deal between Angor and Morgana. 4. Creeper's poison created the Order of Janus, changelings could not create an order in a couple of days, and Morgana could not create such a number of changelings. 5.In the third season of trollhunters there was shown the battle of Merlin and Morgana and it had happened not only in another place but also there was no Douxie on the scene. 6. Blinky said that the confrontation between Merlin and Morgana lasted for centuries, as a result, it happened within a couple of days.
There were also many minor inconsistencies in the plot: 1. The battle on the Kilahed Bridge was different from the one we were shown in the third season of "Troll Hunters".
Tumblr media
2. The design of the Deya is different from the statue in the forge of heroes.
Tumblr media
3. WHY THE HELL CAN MORGANA OPEN PORTALS WITHOUT A STAFF?! Then why didn't she just create a portal in the finale of the third season and fly out of it? 4. The process of creating the amulet is different from what we were shown in the third season.
Tumblr media
5. Where did Belrog get the staff of shadow if it was destroyed in the finale of the third season? AND WHERE DID THIS STAFF GO AFTER THE EIGHTH EPISODE?!! 6. The hand that is used to create the amulet is also different from the one that was shown to us in "Troll Hunters".
Tumblr media
7. During Morgana's incarceration, she was wearing a helmet and a raincoat. 8.Wendel's appearance is also different from the one that was shown to us in "Troll Hunters".
Tumblr media
(This is probably going to sound like a quibble, but why didn't Jim react to Draal in any way?)
And this is the main reasons why I can't perceive wizards as a direct continuation of the trollhunters series.
4.Of course, there were moments in this show that I liked, for example, the acquaintance of Blinky and Aarrg, the storyline of Merlin and Douxie, but, alas, the cons in this show outweighed the pros for me.

Fearless Hero (villain version)
so after listening to fearless hero for the 10th time, I couldn't help but wonder what a villian version would sound like?
The idea is basically after Puss finds out about Death's true identity in the cave, as Puss runs away Death would sing a dark reprise of fearless hero as a way to mock him
I could see the lyrics like this
Death
Where is your favourite fearless hero Where is your favourite fearless hero
Who's now afraid of trouble (You are, you are)
Who's watching their ego crumble (You are, you are)
Where is your favourite fearless hero Where is your favourite fearless hero
Who's now on his last life (You are, you are)
Who can't stare me in the eyes
(You are, you are)
Who is your arrogant selfish hero Who is your arrogant selfish hero

So...the ending of primal was...something
Tumblr media
Alright so...I'm fine with Spear dying in the end, him sacrificing himself for his new family was powerful especially after he lost his original family and the scene before that scene was actually really emotional and beautiful...its when Mira and him (who is basically close to death at that point) started doing 'it' was...weird and killed the weight of the scene kinda creepy and gross with the fact that Spear is on his deathbed.
I don't have a problem with Spear and Mira eventually getting together and even having a kid, but it felt out of nowhere, like up to that point they seemed like close friends but at the end they apparently love each other to the point where they bang and have a kid was a whiplash, it was like in season 5 of Samurai Jack's where at the start Jack and Ashi seem to have a mentor/student relationship but all of a sudden they are in love, and I'm arguing which scene is creepier.
In general the finale it shares the same problems with Samurai Jack's finale, it felt incredibly rushed and filled with a lot of plot holes. I still adore this show and it's still one of the best shows in recent years, but the ending is still a big stain on what was otherwise an incredible show.

I get where people are coming from but I couldn't resist
Edit: I do wanna make it clear that I personally wasn't grossed out by the scene, as many have said its a natural part of life and I think a lot of people are overreacting from both sides

I just wanna clear out what I ment by listening to criticism was with the pilot, not each episode, I apologise if I confused some people
Helluva boss is one of those that you can tell the team we're listening to the criticism from fans and instead of saying "we're right, your wrong, shut up" they used it to fix the flaws to make the show even better episode by episode
Now there are still flaws but I can confidently say that it's one of the best adult shows running, and I'm really looking forward to hazbin hotel when it is eventually released

How I'd fix the biggest problem with Volume 8s finale
Volume 8's finally....made me angry, especially what they did with Penny. The writers brought her back only to kill her off again in the most tasteless, tactless, disrespectful and asinine way, on top of making making Jaune the one to do it when the two didn't have any scenes together, and it would have made more sense if Ruby or Winter were the one to do it, to me it wasn't only fan service to bring her back, but manipulate to make her a real girl just to kill her off, basically saying "ha! Your favourite character isn't coming back! Now buy our merch of her!"
Hell even though I love the song "Friend" but it can't help but leave a bit of a bitter taste cause of what I said. It just shows how low there willing to go just to keep interest. I recommend watching moukies's video "the problem with penny polentina"
I think it should have been Winter, and I don't mean in a morbid way. Not only would it make sence for Winter to die protecting her friend to show her growth, but could have been a powerful scene for not only Penny...but Weiss
I see it like this...
The fight with Winter and Ironwood finishes early and Winter makes it to the portal that had appeared in the vault, there she notices Cinder about to use her grim claw on Penny, without hesitation she yells "PENNY!" as she uses her glyphs and stands in front of Penny, sacrificing herself by letting the grimm arm stab her. As Winter lays on the ground bleeding out, while Jaune and Weiss continue to fight Cinder, Penny comforts her in her dying moments, crying for the first time, apologising that this happened Winter gives a weak smile as she wipes her tears away and says that she should be the one apologising, saying that Penny was the true human, while she was the mindless robot, she thanks her for being her friend. Her final words being "go...be the girl you were ment to be..."
We cut to Weiss and Jaune continuing their fight with Cinder, but they stop dead in their tracks when they hear the heartwrenching scream of Penny, Weiss sees Penny holding Winter's body crying and her heart feels like it was shattered. As the tears began to quietly stream down Weiss's face Cinder snickers and something like "What a pathetic way for a Shnee to die, for some useless tin can"
That's when Weiss snaps, not only did she loose her teammates but her sister, fuelled by anger and hate she lets out a loud scream and finally summons the Nevermore (hinted earlier) ready to kick Cinder's ass
They still loose of course but I think this makes more sense and isn't manipulative
