Don’t mind me guys, I’m just sitting here thinking about how important the scene of Bucky sleeping in Sam’s couch is.

First, I would like to start by saying that Bucky is either stupid or madly in love because why who he rather sleep on a couch at Sam’s than in a hotel room.

Now, back to our topic. I didn’t realize at first how big the scene was… You would think that it’s just Bucky sleeping at Sam’s right? 

Just one night, in the couch, no big deal, right, right?

WRONG, extra huge deal!

Bucky is sleeping in Sam’s couch with his 2 nephews in his house. This means that there is no doubt in Sam’s mind that the nephews are safe with Bucky in the house. He has no worries of Bucky going in Winter Soldier mode, no matter what happens. No matter the circumstances, you always put the kids safety first, if Sam or Sarah had even the slightiest doubt that Bucky could become dangerous, go in Winter Soldier mode or even have a nightmare that could become dangerous or something, they would have never let Bucky sleep there.

Sam trusts Bucky more than Bucky trusts himself and most importantly, Sarah trusts Bucky. That means Sam and Sarah have talked about Bucky in the past, and Sam has reassured Sarah about it. Otherwise she wouldn’t be ok with the Ex-Super Soldier sleeping in the house, she probably knows about Bucky’s history and discussed it with Sam. Sarah knows that it’s a man she can trust around her kids, which is the biggest deal of all because I don’t think there is a bigger test than that.

And the scene where AJ and Cass are downstairs with no supervision but Bucky, just, I can’t.

They’re not afraid to play there, and their mother is not afraid to let them play downstairs, with their uncle’s weird friend.

They run away because they were caught playing with the shield (which is not theirs) and an adult caught them, not because they were afraid of Bucky

Do you know the level of trust it takes to let your kids downstairs with someone else especially a super soldier who has been brainwashed in the past, without hovering to check if everything is okay? This family trusts Bucky, Sam doesn’t even doubt him one second, Bucky knows it and that’s probably why Bucky is able to sleep for the whole night. 

It’s like he passed the ultimate test to finally let go of the past and he didn’t even know he was taking it.

Sarah is a great mother and a great mother’s trust is the ultimate reward.

So thank you brain, now I’m crying.

i think it is important to recognize the ways in which your favorite thing sucks. i think it keeps u normal

I like that DS9 had a plot and I like that TNG didn't. TNG was about traveling to new places, finding weird shit, and thinking about it. DS9 was about staying in one place, having weird shit come to you, and dealing with it. Entire genocides happened in TNG and the crew had the appropriate emotional responses and left. DS9 can't leave, so they have to deal with the consequences in all future episodes. TNG is about strangers, and DS9 is about neighbors.

Being a Falcon & Winter Soldier fan who sees a lot of Supernatural content come across my dash from my mutuals is amazingly disorienting. Someone will start a multi-paragraph vent about how "Sam deserves to go to hell" or some such, and I'll be putting on my Sam Wilson Defense League hat and getting ready to FIGHT by the time I've realized they're talking about a very different Sam.

write weird shit. Write indulgent au fanfiction and self insert fics. Write creepy horror scenes and random character crossover dialogue. Write in a different genre. Write that sex scene that you know won’t make the cut. Write about sentient furniture turning into werewolves that try to date your MC. Write whump or hero/villain fic. Write your kink. Write your worst nightmare. Write your delusions of power and fantasies of control. Write whatever the fuck you feel like. Write whatever comes to mind. You don’t have to share it with anyone (but you can). Your writing impulses don’t define your morality anymore than your reading preferences, and actually going outside your comfort zone will improve your writing skills (making a horrifying villain sympathetic requires good characterization). Even if it doesn’t improve your skills, that’s still something you created out of nothing. It’s still valuable. Don’t let purity culture kill your creativity. That’s how culture stagnates. That’s how writing stops being fun.
