craving fairy tail fics that touch on igneel being king of the fire dragons and the implications of natsu therefore technically being a prince. craving a fic where natsu never thought much of it, especially since royalty status like that means something a little different in dragon societies, but something brings it to the attention of his guildmates. craving a fic where runes keep non-royals from entering a room and natsu wanders in to get a better look at a silly painting or something shiny before he gets bored and wanders back out. craving a fic where the team attends a royal ball and customs require those with direct royal claims wear an identifying circlet or something, magic ensuring the custom is followed and natsu is annoyed cuz he just wants to get to the buffet table.

Number one thing about Lucy is that she was lonely as a child and so will do everything in her power to never be so again. In the Tartaros arc this had a body count.

Quick headcanon just because, can be read as platonic or romantic or just shits and giggles

Natsu and gajeel are the embodiments of shopping husband memes. lucy and levy are on hour 10 of book hunting and trying out adorable outfits while natsu and gajeel are in the background green faced and holding a billion bags.

It gets worse if they see erza and wendy cause then their 10 hour shopping trip turns into a multi day shopping spree with thousands of jewels being spent. Like Erza just loads up everyone’s hands with bows for wendy, swimsuits, parkas, cat sized clothing, and SO MANY SHOES.

The girls spend months in the dressing, which means Gajeel and Natsu also spend months in the dressing room. Over 5000 outfits get tried on. It takes 3 years of patience, a million “you look greats”s and an endless amount of“that looks nice”s, but one day everyone is finally ready to go. They almost make it out of the mall…but then Wendy sees an accessory store. Now they have to go to the accessory store because who can say no to wendy? The party buys out the accessory store. With what money you might ask?nobody knows.

Even funnier when (and i mean WHEN) in the end natsu and gajeel dead tired look for their wallets to find that they money that the girls had been using was in fact the dragonslayers’s

Zeref and Gray

Something that always kinda struck me was how similar Gray and Zeref all are. Like they are dark haired, dark eyed, pale, emotionally constipated, and cold boys. I don't know if it was purposeful but the way they share these characteristics along with being brother figures to natsu is kind of wild and a little sad if you think about it. Like maybe it was a small piece of memory or instinct but the idea that maybe natsu got so close to gray is because he is zeref could have become if he didn’t go mad with grief. The version that he was when he was happy.

Gray and Zeref parallel one another in so many other ways then looks and personality. Both of them lived a happy life until everyone they loved were killed by a monster leaving them to become the only survivor. Both of them turned to magic, and their own hubris and need for more caused the loss of the system that taught them (death of Ur, zeref's expulsion and curse). The difference comes from what they did after. Zeref isolated and fell deeper into grief while Gray found a support system. They both eventually meet(create?) natsu and have a brotherly relationship with him but zeref pushes him away despite being his blood brother to be raised by igneel, while gray acts like his brother in all names but blood. The parallels between Gray and Zeref and their relationship with Natsu really brings the idea of blood family vs chosen family and how it's your own decision that affects your destiny.

Gajeel and Wendy

They are just so brother-and-sister-with-a-large-enough-age-gap-that-they-often-get-mistaken-as-dad-and-daughter-core its insane.

Add levy and they literally look like a little family when they go out in public . I could totally see gajeel trying to steal wendy from team natsu with the excuse that she looks like gajeel and levy’s secret lovechild. Erza of course doesn't let that happen considering that Wendy could also be her and jellas secret love child, but she doesn't say that and instead says that changing Wendy’s team would be too much paperwork, so she cannot possibly transfer to Gajeels team.( the paper work doesn’t exist everyone is too scared to call her out on it though)

I feel like Wendy already considers most of the men in the guild to be her brothers but especially gajeel and natsu because not only do they have the same magic type, but they were literally raised together. Just the idea that gajeel,natsu, and wendy have a little dragon slayer get together ( they invite laxus and occasionally he pops up) where they do dragon things like stuff their mouth full of iron, fire, and sky(?), talk about their childhood and just be a little feral as a treat for being all proper( having basic human etiquette ).

Imagine gajeel letting wendy put bows in his hair because he wants her to feel like a kid for a bit longer and its remind him of of metalicana(?) playing with his hair. Or Wendy giving gajeel a talk about how he's going to be a great dad to his and Levy’s kids because he is already such a great brother. Or gajeel seeing how he wants his kids to be when they grow up while looking at Wendy. Think about Wendy being dragged into a guild brawl and absolutely blowing through everyone and gajeel standing there all smug because that's his little sister!

Imagine the guilt Gajeel feels knowing how many times Wendy has been abandoned at her young age. How he tries to train her to be stronger. If they get their memories back, how they compare the people they are now to the kids they started off as.

Think of the Sibling angst possibilities of Gajeel not being anything, how Wendy remembers him due to his tough life in phantom. Think about how much of each other's lives they missed? The possibilities are ENDLESS.

It’s criminal that we don't get to see more of them!

Gray and natsu as rivals and friends

2 men, who have known each other for half their lives and understand each other's pain in ways that not many people can, even in their guild, find solace and comfort knowing that despite their differences and annoyance they are still each other's pillars to lean on. They argue and call each other names but it's all lighthearted. They fight physically but to them it's just training y'know? Their entire livelihoods are based around fighting so engaging in it on a smaller, less dangerous scale is good for them and doesn’t really mean they want to actually hurt one another.

They are so similar in their pain and personality but so different in their ways of expressing themselves. Both can’t express themselves, but one pushes it down, letting it fester like an unnoticed but throbbing wound. The other lets it explode becoming, misunderstood but noticed. Even through that disconnect in what the other is feeling they still show up and provide the help that they can. This help doesn’t fix the issue but its a start in their healing. The twos differences let them rely on each other in an unspoken pact of understanding. Despite their words, they believe the world of each other and look up to the standards the other creates. Their rivalry is a rivalry made out of reverence and respect.

The two are friends despite their protests otherwise. Friends protect friends, friends see what pain and hurt the other is carrying. They have known each other for what Natsu remembers as pretty much his entire life, and in this time they created bonds that rely on unspoken understanding and advice. They want what's best for one another. And hate to see the other refuse to accept the good things they think they deserve. They argue as siblings do, over meaningless things and insults, but they make up quickly, and their quiet moments more than make up for the nicks and scratches of years before.

Natsu and juvia as a brotp

I just think they would have such a great dynamic and it is just such a shame they aren’t explored more considering that not only are they nakama but the two closest people to gray.

To start off they are FIRE AND WATER opposite but of similar attributes. Both emotional, extreme,incredibly stubborn, and have the ability to both destroy everything they touch or be the thing that allows for life to blossom. This reflects so much in their personalities and their relationship with their guildmates gajeel, erza, lucy and most especially gray. They are both a little obsessive, very one track minded, and have a habit of trying to be besties with kinda cold, scary( but secretly just scared to open up and be vulnerable so they use intimidation as a way to feel in control) people!

Speaking of cold, “scary” people, gray is a big part of both their lives, and his impact on both of them is something that should be touched upon more. Similarly, I feel like with Natsu and juvia being the most positive people in gray's life and their impact on his idea of love, it should be looked at how their shared characteristics are the things that bring gray back into the light. Also with the whole thing with them constantly being the ones to keep him from ice shelling, they should make a “ We Appreciate Gray” club. Juvia is the president( duh) and Natsu is the reluctant secretary who pretends he doesn’t care but will pull out all the stops to make the events incredible.

Natsu and juvia would definitely be the pair that no one thinks would get along but put them in a room and suddenly it's like an 8th grade sleepover. They have all the same friends and I swear to god they both are so much more gossipy then they let on. Playing the fool gets you incredibly far when it comes to getting blackmail material also NATSU HAS SUPER HEARING! Juvia has experience with dragon slayers( gajeel) so she would definitely use natsu’s super hearing and history with the other ft members to figure out what they like. People wonder how Juvia can stalk so well without getting caught and its because she has 2 (possibly 3 if she gets wendy on her side) loudmouths with super hearing and smell. Natsu and Juvia would definitely trade tips on how to make their friends happy and what to get them for their birthdays. Also i think that juvia would be a great place for natsu to kinda outlet some of his more emotional thoughts about his family because juvia thinks about the guild in the same way he does, but is better at expressing her love for them! I think they have a knitting ( juvia sucks so bad, she can sew, not knit and ends up setting her work on fire. how? Nobody knows) or baking club( natsu eat the ingredients before they start) that meets once a month that turns into just an hour long gossip session where they end up dealing “baby” pics of their friends. They give off inlaws who have a group chat that is just random photos of cats and complaints about how their respective partners ( the other’s siblings) won't get out of the house.

This isn’t even touching on the magic part, HOW COOL WOULD IT BE TO SEE A WATER AND FIRE COMBO ATTACK? LIKE COME ON MASHIMA DON'T BE A COWARD

I really wish we got to see more of them. They would be such a fun duo!
