Hey some Apollo and Hermes!  Okay, now about Hermes’s design, I did some research into him and he was originally worshipped as an underworld God before being seen as a divine messenger as well as being the god of literally nearly everything under the sun… so I figured what if when he was a young god he looked more like a chthonic God and gradually gained a more traditional Olympian appearance as his worship spread… so yeah.. chthonic godling Hermes… enjoy! He only stole the bow because he wants to learn… Apollo is more amused than annoyed…

Fandom: Trials of Apollo Rating: Gen Genre: Friendship Characters: Will, Miranda, Billie, Douglas, Steve Clearly the newest Demeter kids haven't yet got the hang of growing plants with their powers. TOApril day 14 - Every Rose Has Its Thorns. I went literal today. Also, despite Meg being the clearly obvious candidate for this prompt, I managed to go with every other TOA Demeter kid except for her, whoops. All kids in here are canon names, I promise.
“Hey, Will!”
He turned to see Billie jogging towards him – as fast as she ever moved unless she was fighting or running from something actively trying to kill her – and sighed, because the daughter of Demeter didn’t usually seek out his presence, which only meant one thing.
“Miranda wants you,” she said, then confirmed it with, “bring your medical stuff.”
“Medical stuff?” he parroted at her, bemused.  She shrugged dismissively, turning her back on him and starting to head back the way she’d come.  Will hadn’t paid attention to it, but it was the direction of the cabins so he had a pretty good idea where she was leading him.
He’d long since got into the habit of keeping an emergency pack of medical supplies on him at all times, so he didn’t bother to make a detour to pick anything else up.  Not until he knew exactly what he was dealing with; Billie hadn’t been running, even if she’d been jogging, so Will was confident that his emergency pack would at least suffice for initial treatment of whatever cabin four had done to themselves.
Sure enough, Billie ploughed straight through the door of her cabin without stopping, and Will hurried to get across the threshold before the door slammed in his face.
Cabin four was, in Will’s opinion, the strangest of the cabins.  Sure, the Hecate cabin had magic permeating every inch of it rather disconcertingly, and the Nike cabin was an active puzzle for reasons he’d never quite worked out, but there was something about a floor that was actually grass, and a central support that was actually a living, thriving tree that had never quite managed to click in Will’s head.
He was pretty sure those things were all supposed to grow outdoors, but if there was one place where they had an argument for growing indoors, Demeter’s cabin would be it.
The central tree was swarmed with other plants, which certainly hadn’t been the case that morning when Will had done cabin inspection and given cabin four a seven for scattered seeds but tidy hammocks.
For some reason, Demeter wasn’t counted alongside her brothers as superior amongst even the Olympians.  Everyone knew the Big Three was the three male godly children of Kronos, while their sisters went mostly unacknowledged.  It was difficult to understand why so many people dismissed her or her children, though.  Will had seen cabin four members consistently pull off illogical feats – always plant-related – ever since he first arrived at camp, and having seen the sheer destruction they could bring about when they wanted to, he had no intention of ever underestimating them.
Unlike most demigods, who got ADHD and dyslexia and no special powers to show for it, Demeter’s kids consistently got green thumbs and plants that would do anything they asked.  Will had never seen one that couldn’t manipulate plants to some degree, and that certainly held true for the current occupants of the cabin.
In the middle, tangled around the central tree, was a massive rose briar, complete with wicked sharp thorns and fully blooming roses the colour of blood.  Billie had made her way to join Miranda where the head counsellor was standing by the cabin’s new plant addition and trying to get the plants to move.
Inside the snarl of thorns and vines seemed to be something that Miranda was specifically trying to get to – or someone, because Will could count just fine and there were two kids unaccounted for, visually, at least.
Douglas’ thick accent was slurring out curse after curse as something struggled inside the branches.  Will couldn’t make out the exact words, but that wasn’t particularly unusual when the Scottish boy slipped into Scots.  He could get the gist, though.
He sighed, drawing Miranda’s attention to his arrival.  “What happened?” he asked her.
She responded with a sigh of her own.  “Plant growing gone wrong,” she said, gesturing broadly at the massive plant.  Some of the branches rustled with her movement, just enough to reveal a glimpse of Steve fighting inside as well.  That answered the question on where both the young Demeter boys were lurking, at least.
It wasn’t the first time it had happened.  It wasn’t even the first time it had happened to those particular boys – Douglas was an enthusiastic plant grower, and Steve was far more of an enabler than he was clearly prepared to be when it came to the consequences.  Neither of them had been in camp all that long, but Will was already well aware that they were going to be a potential headache source for him – especially once they found their own feet at camp.
Will knew the routine, so he waited while Miranda did her magic (not that she would ever call it as such when it was just her normal) and slowly got the branches to release their death grips on the two boys.
Steve was the first one to disentangle enough, rolling out of the mess with stray leaves and the odd broken off thorn stuck deeply into his hair.  He also had several freshly-bleeding scratches across his skin, and Will didn’t wait to be invited over when his role was pretty obvious.
And also very much routine.
“Can you at least try not to bury yourselves in plant matter of the injury inducing kind?” he asked as he pulled out some antiseptic wipes and began dabbing at the myriad of scratches that stood out red against the younger boy’s dark skin.
“It was Douglas’ fault!” he protested.
There was an immediate “Oi!” in a thick Scottish accent emanating from the centre of the still-snarled tangle of thorny vines, followed by what Will was pretty sure was a protestation of innocence in Scots.
“You’re not blameless, either!” Miranda called over, and Steve’s shoulders hunched up to his ears.
“It was an accident,” he muttered.  “They weren’t supposed to get so…”
“Big?” Billie supplied.  “Wild?”
“Yeah, that,” Steve shrugged, thankfully letting his shoulders drop again after a warning poke from Will.
Another sharp gesture from Miranda and Billie had Douglas spilling out from the briar as well, his own curly hair sporting a fine collection of leaves and thorns, and even the occasional petal.  He also had openly bleeding scratches on his bare skin, including one long one too close to his eye for comfort.  It wasn’t close or deep enough to cause permanent damage, or even scar, but it was a reminder of what could have gone wrong.
Will wasn’t a fan of could have gone wrongs, although he did prefer those over the did go wrongs, for hopefully obvious reasons.
He sighed again and pulled out a fresh wipe to attack the other boy’s scratches with.  Douglas winced away from the sting, but Billie grabbed him and held him still.
Neither boy was injured enough to need anything more than just the disinfecting wipe, thankfully, so Will’s medical duties didn’t take long to complete.
“At least try not to injure yourselves on your own plants,” he said as he balled up the used wipes for disposal in the infirmary.  “I’m pretty sure that’s lesson one for plant summoning.”
“Something like that,” Miranda said.  “Thanks for the assist, Will.  I’ll take it from here.”
Will didn’t need to be told twice; he was already in charge of his own cabin and anyone that ended up a patient in the infirmary.  He neither needed nor wanted to expand his responsibilities beyond that – Miranda could handle her own siblings.
“See you at dinner,” he said, and made his way out of the cabin, back to where the grass was outdoors and normal.  As the cabin door shut behind him, he heard the Demeter kids discussing the best thing to do with the rose bush and whether or not it would damage the tree – or pose an ongoing risk to demigods – if they left it where it was.
That was certainly not Will’s problem, either.  Miranda was welcome to that one.

Minor/side character headcanons/possible prompts for the soul.
Lee fletcher is an exact replica of Apollo in his modern form dazzling white teeth, shiny straight blonde hair and sky blue eyes. In contrast, Will Solace is an exact replica of the Apollo you see in the statues of old with curly blonde hair with a rounder more youthful appearance.
Luke had a suspicion of Chris being a son of Hermes what he did not know was Chris inherited more of his father's psychopomp abilities rather than his domain of travel.... While yes, minos and his curse on the labyrinth is what drove Chris to madness the screaming souls of the damned trapped in the maze did help much either.
Katie Gardner and Meg McCaffrey are praised for their abilities of growing plants. Many often Overlook their sister Miranda who has their mother's ability to bring forth the famine and has the ability take life away from her plants in her bouts of sadness just as much as she can give them life.
Children of Apollo have a fear of snakes. Athena's spawn have a fear of spiders and while they'll never admit it Ares children have always been wary of closed spaces.
Rachel Elizabeth Dare was an only child despite this she was often overlooked. when she took the title of Oracle she did not know what that entailed. She didn't know at the time that it would give her in honorary family of siblings but who is she to complain.
At the end of the titan war Will was at a loss he was now the oldest of his siblings yet he had no knowledge on how to be the responsible older brother. Rachel also has no knowledge on how to be an honorary older sister so maybe they can learn together.
When she was younger Clarisse loved when they learned of the iliad she had a copy she would read whenever she was bored. She looked up to and respected Achilles she aspired to be just like him, a strong warrior able to take on anyone. Her only problem was she couldn't understand how he could turn away from a war how he could back down from a fight. When she returns from the Battle of Manhattan she still cannot understand but alas she made the same mistakes as him just liked she had hopped as a child. If in her anger she burned her copy of The Iliad who are we to judge her.

Writing Prompt: Men In Black
AU - Shortly after Lila shows up, a frustrated Marinette sends a message to the Italian Embassy.
"Hello, as someone with Italian citizenship (through my father and grandmother), I was wondering why the child of a member of diplomatic staff is attending an unsecured public school without protection, while publicly advertising her status as the child of a foreign diplomat?"
Mostly she was hoping that Lila's mom might get reprimanded, and as a result rein in her daughter.
She was surprised when, instead, several Interpol agents were at her house when she woke up.
Marinette: I- I swear! I wasn't threatening her! I didn't do anything! Interpol Agent: You don't understand Miss. We're not here because you're in trouble. At least, not with us. We're here because we need your help. Marinette: My... Help? Interpol Agent: Yes. You see, when Miss Rossi left Italy, she didn't have any children. Somehow in the last month, without notifying the Italian government, she's acquired a 14 year old daughter. That is... Concerning. Marinette: Wait, what? Interpol Agent: Best Case scenario, our diplomat has been involved in an illegal adoption. More likely, this "Lila" is using some form of mind control. Either way, we have some hard questions for her.
Prompt by: Tiwaz

imagine you are drew tanaka in the middle of a losing battle and being told that your sister, your big sister who you trusted, was a traitor.
imagine hearing everyone call her a hero and not understanding because she was a traitor. she was a traitor and people are dead and how many of them wouldn't be dead right now if not for her?
imagine you are all of fourteen, maybe fifteen, and you are put in charge of all your siblings during a battle many of them are going to see the end of all because your sister sided with the enemy.
imagine feeling like a monster in your own skin. imagine holding in this gigantic hatred for a person everyone is calling a hero. imagine watching the flames on your friends funeral pyres die out and wondering if they would've survived if Silena never defected.
imagine four months later, a girl comes in and tells you you're wrong to feel this way. a girl who never knew silena. a girl who was never stuck in a war in new york for days on end while the enemy attacked from all sides. imagine she tells you silena was a hero when she doesn't know what it's like to be betrayed by someone who was your sister.
imagine she takes the responsibility of a dozen or two campers off your back by becoming the new cabin counsellor and you can't help but feel thankful for it.

I love Jo and Emmie and all.
And its great that Leo found a home after so long.
But I always think...
What about Harley?
Harley worked so hard to get his brother back, and then when Leo comes back he just leaves and finds a new family?
Imagine how heartbroken he is
So I dislike the fact that Leo leaves camp to go live at the WayStation.
And im not even going to get into Caleo
(Good news is that when we get to House of Hades in my fic that aint gonna happen, and im not even sure im going to have her there at all)

(if you prefer Ao3)
They learn about it in the slowly bubbling, uncertain high of victory.
She died a hero, Clarisse says, repeats, convinces, closing Drew’s hands around a bracelet far too innocent to make everyone’s hearts sink with just a glance. Its silver colour is barely visible beneath the blood. Drew’s hands were already long slick with crimson. She doesn’t say anything.
(The daughter of Ares tells them the story as they pick up their other fallen siblings. Nobody responds)
Fuchsia with an apple for Anders, seventeen and the loveliest relationship advisor. Lacy only manages a few words through her sobs and tears, her hair still in the intricate but effective braid he had put it in before battle.
Coral with a conch shell for Khalid, twelve with a love for anything one could find at the bottom of the ocean. Valentina grips his stuffed anglerfish so tightly that she almost tears it while making her speech about him.
Salmon with a thorned rose for Ina, fifteen and the best fighter in the cabin. Mitchell can barely stand while talking, choked by having been unable to retrieve more of her than a gnarled arm, recognizable only through the heart-shaped birthmark spanning the back of her hand.
Magenta with a dove for Sawyer, fourteen with the kindest eyes in the world. Drew lays the sword they had never wanted in the fire and watches it melt into perfumed smoke without a word.
Cerise with flowering myrtle for Jasmin, sixteen and the craftiest painter around. Aminah bites her knuckles to the blood in a failed attempt not to cry when the burning paints colour the fire in impossible hues.
… Hot pink with an electric spear for Silena. Clarisse sets the fire with a blank face, dried tear tracks gouging grooves down her cheeks.
(A grief-stained title of cabin counsellor for Drew, fifteen with the weight of her world suddenly on her shoulders. Cabin Ten cannot keep her from turning her head high, eyeliner sharper than it’s been in years.)
----------
It’s not Drew who orders all signs of Silena Beauregard to be scrubbed from the insides of Cabin Ten.
Instead, Mitchell passes through the cabin while the others haunt around Camp like the ghosts they had avoided becoming. Carefully, carefully, he folds up Silena’s fashionista posters, picks pictures of her off the clothing clips on the strings strung up throughout the cabin, strips her bed of the flower pillows they’d all collaborated to get for her last (final) birthday, collects clothes from her section of shelves and drawers, and packs everything with even a trace of her into the suitcase under his bed. Grief echoes off the bare spaces, sandalwood perfume soaking into the walls, a vestige of one of the many lives struck short these past several days.
His siblings don’t say anything when they finally come and find him curled up on Ina’s bed, clutching her morning star plush like it’s the only thing keeping him tethered to his body, the entire cabin missing key elements. Drew starts to get ready for bed, Aminah throws herself onto Jasmin’s bed and shatters, Lacy tears her hair free of Anders’s braid with a wail, and Valentina screams into Khalid’s pillows until her voice is hoarse. Mitchell swears he hears similar sounds from the other cabins.
(Rory comes the next day, backpack full of clothing designs he hadn’t bothered to unpack in his rush upon hearing about the strange happenings in New York. He takes one look at his siblings’ hollowed faces, at the bare beds, at the empty spaces, and breaks, begging for forgiveness for not being there to fight along their sides, for not protecting them like an older brother should, for working on his college projects while they fought and died for the world. Drew scoffs, lips perfectly painted, and says there’s a reason they didn’t tell him war was brewing over their last Iris Message. The others pile onto him, cursing and crying and trying to keep themselves from falling into pieces.)
----------
Officially, Silena Beauregard is a hero. She had been burned with laurel wreaths, and offerings were tossed into the fire to aid her journey to Elysium. Her photo has been put up in the Big House alongside many others, and even Mr D managed not to butcher “Silena Beauregard” for once, prompted by a centaur kick. Her name is whispered under the topic of the ultimate sacrifice, of the power of love, of the bravery of unexpected leaders.
Unofficially, the only one who speaks her name with pure reverence is Clarisse La Rue, and no one says it with such vitriol as Drew Tanaka. Her spy bracelet, still drenched in blood, has been hurled against a wall and remains hidden and gathering dust under her bed. Her cabin has been scrubbed clean of any mentions of her, her name unspoken in fear of Drew’s newfound cruelty.
(Drew builds back up the walls her siblings had dismantled with so much care, taller and thicker than ever before.)
(Mitchell retreats back into himself, the skittishness he had worked so hard to shed shrouding him in full force once again.)
(Lacy melts into the crowd like never before, burying her voice beneath a blanket of sorrow.)
(Valentina ditches her soft colours and loose wardrobe, forcing attention onto her new tastefully torn jeans and bold shades and away from her wail-wrecked throat.)
(Aminah tugs her grief tight around herself and leaves with the summer, her goodbye lacking a definitive “see you later”.)
----------
Two boys, adorned in pearls and guided by geese, arrive in a cabin full but hollow, plagued by dead siblings and a traitorous hero. Twins, they are, nine years old and unknowing of the carnage of war, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Drew scoffs and scolds but leaves them to her remaining siblings, for her sharp tongue has never been suited for introductions, and even in the wake of her death-stained rule, she will not dare shut children down so soon after arrival.
Names of all the ghosts haunting the cabin become unspoken, none willing to explain them and blemish the twins’ innocence.
It does not work.
Not when Lev walks in on Lacy sorting and resorting dozens of vials of perfumes with shaking hands and trembling breaths. Not when Ren asks Valentina about the night sky painted on the wall over an empty bed and she shuts down entirely for the rest of the day. Not when Lev holds up a mirror to help Mitchel neaten up the impulsive haircut he had given himself after a game of Capture the Flag. Not when Ren catches Drew in a screaming match with another camper over a girl he had never heard about.
Not when something weighs heavily over the empty spaces in the cabin, over the necks of their newfound siblings.
So they ask someone else.
Clarisse La Rue. Will Solace. Connor Stoll. Nyssa Barrera. Malcolm Pace.
Slowly, slowly, they collect pieces, find ways to fit them together, compare conflicting accounts. They get the story of clashing metal, raging fire, slithering scales. A frightful fairytale, starring their fellow campers as the main characters. The missing limbs, the overabundance of scars, the paranoid glances — it all clicks together, and the uncomfortable hollowness of Camp Half-Blood is suddenly apparent.
(Eventually, they ask about their own Cabin’s side of the story.)
(They receive no answer beyond solemn looks and half-hearted shrugs.)
----------
Piper McLean falls from the sky, crashing straight through the fragile roof of the system Cabin Ten has established for itself the moment she bursts with pink light.
She is… argumentative. Unwilling to cram herself into the tattered tapestry of their Cabin the war had left behind. Determined to be different, to stand out, to raise her hackles at those around her. Filled with an anger towards the paints and ruffles her siblings wrap themselves in, and unconcerned with not letting it spill over and burn them.
She challenges Drew, and they cheer.
(Will the sister-that-never-left finally come back to them?)
Drew scoffs and huffs, sharpens her nails on the sound of Piper’s voice, but does not fight.
(They have fought for so long, and she is tired, and maybe an older kid with none of the wounds that mar the rest of them is needed in Cabin Ten.)
(Within a month, Drew wrenches permission for them to leave Camp for a shopping trip out of Chiron, and they know she is coming back.)

Aphrodite Cabin:
Instead of being a life size barbie dreamhouse like it is described in the books, its very subtle, and natural, and soft
The outside is pink, but such a pale pink that it looks white unless the right light is hitting it.
There is natural ivy growing only each wall and onto the roof. It wraps around shutters and the frames of the doors.
It almost looks like a small manor. Looks like it should have been built on some far off hill that is surrounded by flower fields for miles.
The inside is very cozy and welcoming. The walls are a muted dark green and there are so many pictures, posters, mirrors, shelves, etc that you can barely see the paint.
There are bedrooms in the cabin. It looks normal on the outside but Mama wanted the best for her children so she did her magic on it and made it a lot bigger on the inside. There are bedrooms, four to a room, and the main room is more of a common room/lounge area.
There is a walk-in, expanding, closet where you put old clothes you don’t want anymore and other siblings can come and get some new clothes if they need them. (Other campers are welcome whenever invited. It happens more often than it should)
There are traditions that have spanned centuries.
There is an item from every sibling that has lived in that cabin somewhere on the walls. All of the pictures, posters, things on the shelves are placed there by a past sibling.
There is an ever growing stack of finished rubix cubes that each have a piece of tape with the time on it.
There’s a hook where, if your jewelry breaks in the cabin, you tie it off and hang it there. There is a necklace made of leather with a hundreds year old stone heart on the hook.
It’s gross, but there is a bowl where most of the family will put their tooth in if they lose it while at camp. We pretend that it’s a flower pot whenever others campers are there.
This is newer. At the beginning of every summer, everyone (if they feel comfortable) gets in front of the rest of the cabin and gives names, pronouns, and sexuality.
Bathrooms are co ed and there have been multiple times that someone had been late to an event because an impromptu fashion show happened in the bathroom
Unironically, there is a mirror in the cabin where, if you are feeling down, you go and say those cheesy affirmations to make you feel better about whatever was bothering you.
Mama actually charmed it to give the person in front of it a clearer mind and more confidence in themselves.
There is a goal, from the early 1800’s, to make the entire camp think that aphrodite kids are the weakest of the demigods.
The goal is to train up enough and bide our time so that we can destroy the entire camp at capture the flag.
Its sometimes opens up peoples eyes to how quickly people accept that all aphrodite kids are just pampered prissy rich kids.
etc.
