rolling my eyes whenever I see the take “if bruce wayne is rich why doesn’t he use his money to help ppl instead” when the whole point is he does and gotham is just THAT fucked up. there’s entire wiki pages dedicated to foundations he created in his parents names. soup kitchens. art programs. medical research. free healthcare & clinics. criminal rehabilitation programs. addresses socioeconomic problems that lead to crime AND helps victims of crime. orphanages. schools. but the problem is no matter how much money u throw at a broken system (a literal cursed city in gothams case) it’s still going to be broken. the politicians are corrupt. the lawyers, the police, the doctors, the justice system. there’s not a part of that city that hasn’t rotted & throw dozens of rogues on top of that? the sad truth is that every single facet of bruce wayne’s life, every waking second as bruce the billionaire or as batman, is dedicated to bettering his city and it’s still not enough

Does anyone else not like the way Damian is drawn in the new Batman and Robin comic ????

Like, after his solo Robin series, I just cannot look at him like that. He looks almost exactly like Jon.

Where is his tan skin ??? His green eyes ??? HIS HOOKED NOSE ???? They took away everything that made his design cool and interesting and new and pretty and also just like a huge part of his ethnicity.

It just bothers me so much like I want to read the comic bc it does seem pretty interesting but Damian’s design is making it soooooo hard. It extra sucks bc the art style is amazing. I actually love the way Bruce is drawn and also White Rabbit is super cool. Damian is just throwing me off so hard like that’s literally not him that’s Tim or Jon or Dick but that isn’t Damian Wayne/AL GHUL like tf look at this

who is time drake— not robin, but tim drake. it's like, his identity has been warped and mangled with his as a hero. he could never separate the two because of how intertwined they are. 

"but steph," i hear you say. "this was all dealt with in tim drake: robin !!" and to that i say so true, but not really though. in tim drake: robin we watch tim grow up, we watch as his relationships mature with him. he's not the same boyfriend he was when he was fifteen. we see tim's interactions with bernard and we can really see that he's changed. 

but this still doesn't answer the question: who is tim drake? 

a lot of thing have been lost in translation from old comics to new, we've lost big chunks of tim's personality. we've also lost chunks of it because of fan service, writers going along with whatever popular fanon concepts. 

tim drake is not calculated, one of his biggest talents is being able to act on the fly and do it well. he's no batman, and that's okay. but this perception of tim being a calculated mini batman is just wrong. 

but its like. who is he it he isn't robin and he isn't batman? he isn't red robin, that was just meant to be a placeholder. and of course you can interpret all the different code names he uses as his confusion in his identity. but as red robin he isn't his own hero-- he's just an extension of what robin was. 

tim drake is stuck in the in between. he's not quite his own hero. not quite a sidekick. not quite anything. 

so, whats the solution? how does tim drake become more than the help batman needs? 

simple. he needs his own city. he isn't robin anymore, he doesn't even wear the bat symbol. he doesn't owe gotham anything, he isn't batman. so, please, let tim take his own stride in his own city. he can leave behind the reminders of what happened in red robin 2009 and he can be his own person.

tim drake is not two seconds away from murdering people — he’ll put himself in harms way to prevent others from killing, and is terrified of being pushed to that limit!! he believes in bruce’s ideals!! he did not kill anyone in red robin 2009!!
