I spent so long on cute “how old the Ghost and the Falcon crews are in 9 ABY” (around the time of Ashoka) portrait drawings only to remember, after finishing the line art, that I’ve gaslit myself into believing my HC ages / the ages from the original novelizations are canon.

So now I have to wait until I’m home from uni so I can include the excerpts from the novels to explain why Han, Luke and Leia only have a 5 year age gap 😭

Behold, a smattering of quotes from Star Wars books that I think about all too often: sad edition

I think about “but cruelty to Han…no.” All too often it’s destroying me.

Books are “The Truce at Bakura” by Kathy Tyers (AN EXCELLENT READ) and “Children of the Jedi” by Barbara Hambly which I have not finished yet.

I didn’t even include all of the instances of Han and Leia internally mourning happy farm boy Luke.

Movie Canon Han VS Book Canon Han

I continue down my legends rabbit hole.

Han had a severe split lip as a child after a fight and he received no professional medical aid. He also was forced to enter swoop-bike races, and although I got the impressed he never lost one, it doesn’t mean he never crashed. [Han Solo Trilogy]

Han also mentioned he’s gotten minor burns, electrocutions and “contusions” working on the Falcon over the years [Rebel Stand] but I didn’t want to go overboard. I’m sure over time I’ll be adding more the the Legends!Han portrait.

I also gave him a broken nose, cause let’s face it, there’s no way he doesn’t have one.
