thursday. 6pm.

you went out with one of your guy friends, noah, on your way to the hybe building to go to practice. you didn’t notice the fact that there were quite a few cameras that had catched you two walking down the streets. you liked noah a lot because he was always so sweet to you, he bought you plushies and chocolate and he even took you out to eat occasionally.

friday. 11.20 pm.

it wasn’t long after the dispatch article was released that riki had texted you. he was never a fan of noah yet you never understood why. you thought they even had some similarities.

sunday. 6.30 pm.

riki and you decided to meet up at one of the practice rooms at the building since he told you that he had a plan to show you what an asshole noah actually is but you didn’t feel well about this at all… “are you sure about this, riki? i don’t think this is going to work, you know…”

your friends eyes roll back in annoyance as he crosses his arms and in front of his chest and shakes his head. he knew that you were stubborn but he couldn’t believe how oblivious you are, especially when it comes to noah.

“you’re going to see that it works when he’s here.” riki responds after a few seconds of silence and just about then the door opens and a brightly smiling noah walks right in “hey baby…!”

your eyes quickly dart towards riki in uncertainty and as you expected he just rolled his eyes once again, copying noah’s words in a mocking way. the other boy ignores riki’s words and engulfs you in a tight hug, arms wrapped around your waist to pull you closer to him. a surprised sound escapes your lips before you let out a chuckle “sorry for asking you so spontaneously to meet up…”

noah leans into your ear to whisper in a teasing and quiet voice “don’t be sorry, id leave everything behind for you…” a smirk is plastered on his lips as he leans back again, taking your hand in his. riki’s and noah’s eyes meet and you notice how intensely they are glaring at each other.

“so you do that with every girl, huh?” riki speaks up with a confident smirk as he glares at the boy who was still holding onto your hand. “what makes you think that? you’re jealous, aren’t you?” noah had the same giddy and excited expression again as soon as he noticed you looking at him.

as soon as he hears noah’s responds he pulls out his phone and seemingly searches for something on it. “you’re a bad liar, noah and you’re especially bad at being genuinely kind to any girl at all.” riki turns his phone around and shows us both the chat between him and one of noah’s friends which are basically saying how often he had cheated on his girlfriends, how often he talked bad about you behind your back and even worse. “even your friends started working against you.” your eyes slightly widen as you notice the way noah lets go of your hand and steps closer to riki until they’re face to face. “you really think you’re better than me, don’t you?” he asks with an angry expression on his face while his fists clench.

riki just chuckles at noah’s question before he answers him in a confident voice “obviously i am because i donr play with girls hearts.” noahs eyebrows furrow in anger and his fists clench even tighter. you feared that they would start fighting so you quickly pull noah away from riki “don’t you dare hit him.” you glare up at the boy you thought was innocent and genuine. noah pulls his wrist from your grip and glares down into your eyes before responding, his voice cold and filled with irritation “stay out of this, little girl…” he bumps his shoulder against riki’s as he storms past him and out of the practice room.

all you could do right now was stare at the door in disbelief, not noticing riki stepping closer to you before he stops right in front of you, softly holding your face in his hands as he speaks up in a soft voice “the chat was only to get him out of his act… what you saw just now was the real noah, the noah i’m always talking about.”

THROUGH A RAPIST’S EYES” (PLS TAKE TIME TO READ THIS. It may save a life, It may save your life.)

“Through a rapist’s eyes. A group of rapists and date rapists in prison were interview…ed on what they look for in a potential victim and here are some interesting facts:

1] The first thing men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle. They are most likely to go after a woman with a ponytail, bun! , braid, or other hairstyle that can easily be grabbed. They are also likely to go after a woman with long hair. Women with short hair are not common targets.

2] The second thing men look for is clothing. They will look for women who’s clothing is easy to remove quickly. Many of them carry scissors around to cut clothing.

3] They also look for women using their cell phone, searching through their purse or doing other activities while walking because they are off guard and can be easily overpowered.

4] The number one place women are abducted from / attacked at is grocery store parking lots.

5] Number two is office parking lots/garages.

6] Number three is public restrooms.

7] The thing about these men is that they are looking to grab a woman and quickly move her to a second location where they don’t have to worry about getting caught.

8] If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged because it only takes a minute or two for them to realize that going after you isn’t worth it because it will be time-consuming.

9] These men said they would not pick on women who have umbrellas,or other similar objects that can be used from a distance, in their hands.

10] Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to the attacker to use them as a weapon. So, the idea is to convince these guys you’re not worth it.

POINTS THAT WE SHOULD REMEMBER:

1] If someone is following behind you on a street or in a garage or with you in an elevator or stairwell, look them in the face and ask them a question, like what time is it, or make general small talk: can’t believe it is so cold out here, we’re in for a bad winter. Now that you’ve seen their faces and could identify them in a line- up, you lose appeal as a target.

2] If someone is coming toward you, hold out your hands in front of you and yell Stop or Stay back! Most of the rapists this man talked to said they’d leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would not be afraid to fight back. Again, they are looking for an EASY target.

3] If you carry pepper spray (this instructor was a huge advocate of it and carries it with him wherever he goes,) yelling I HAVE PEPPER SPRAY and holding it out will be a deterrent.

4] If someone grabs you, you can’t beat them with strength but you can do it by outsmarting them. If you are grabbed around the waist from behind, pinch the attacker either under the arm between the elbow and armpit or in the upper inner thigh – HARD. One woman in a class this guy taught told him she used the underarm pinch on a guy who was trying to date rape her and was so upset she broke through the skin and tore out muscle strands the guy needed stitches. Try pinching yourself in those places as hard as you can stand it; it really hurts.

5] After the initial hit, always go for the groin. I know from a particularly unfortunate experience that if you slap a guy’s parts it is extremely painful. You might think that you’ll anger the guy and make him want to hurt you more, but the thing these rapists told our instructor is that they want a woman who will not cause him a lot of trouble. Start causing trouble, and he’s out of there.

6] When the guy puts his hands up to you, grab his first two fingers and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing down on them as possible. The instructor did it to me without using much pressure, and I ended up on my knees and both knuckles cracked audibly.

7] Of course the things we always hear still apply. Always be aware of your surroundings, take someone with you if you can and if you see any odd behavior, don’t dismiss it, go with your instincts. You may feel little silly at the time, but you’d feel much worse if the guy really was trouble.

FINALLY, PLEASE REMEMBER THESE AS WELL ….

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do it.

2. Learned this from a tourist guide to New Orleans : if a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you…. chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car: Kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won’t see you but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping,eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON’T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side,put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU CLOSE the DOORS , LEAVE.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:

a. Be aware: look around your car as someone may be hiding at the passenger side , peek into your car, inside the passenger side floor, and in the back seat. ( DO THIS TOO BEFORE RIDING A TAXI CAB) .

b. If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.

c. Look at the car parked on the driver’s side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot).

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT! It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked “for help” into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it and it’s better safe than sorry.

smoke on the water can be heard from the speakers as you sit in the office chair in one of the many rooms in the hybe building. most of the enha boys are sitting either on the sofa, a chair or even the floor as they look between your bass guitar and your focused eyes. jay has a proud smile on his face “you’re so good.”

sunghoon and heeseung play air guitar along with you which makes you chuckle as you continue the song, tapping your foot on the floor to the beat.

“you’re really good, i could watch you play all day.” sunoo smiles at you as he leans forward in his seat to listen closer even though the speakers already blasted pretty loudly. “me too…” jake agrees with sunoo as he watches you play your guitar in absolute and utter interest and adoration. as you look up from your instrument a soft smirk sneaks up on your face. you enjoyed the time with them and they clearly enjoyed it too. it was comforting and felt just like home…

“i have time” your responds makes sunoos smile brighter than it was before and he was also gently swaying left to right. soon you came to an end and started unplugging your guitar from the boxes, riki and jungwon helping you with it while the others were still excitedly talking about how good you were and how much they enjoyed watching and listening to you play your bass guitar.

heeseung stands up and comes up to you as he pats your shoulder in a comforting and gentle way to show you that he was proud of you before he spoke up with a slightly playful undertone to his voice, “you’re really a star.”

a chuckle escapes your lungs as soon as you hear him say that, your usual smirk plastered on your lips, “i would even go as far as to say that you’re our star.” jungwon adds to heeseungs comment and all of them could agree to that.

he was right. you are their star.

previously: you wait and wait but nobody shows up… was this really how your friendship was supposed to end? you hated it but you couldn’t change it now, could you? he lied. he didn’t show up even after thirty minutes of waiting at the café you were supposed to meet up. he left and nothing could be done. this was the end and you both knew it. maybe fate would bring you two together again but for now— it’s over.

shit! i’m too late, she’s gone already. the tall boy thinks to himself as he stands outside the café, a bouquet of flowers in his right hand and chocolate and a teddy bear in the other. how could i be so fucking stupid… he quickly takes out his phone to check the time and lets out groan of frustration.

thirty minutes too late.

thirty minutes too late to save your friendship.

thirty minutes too late to apologize.

thirty minutes too late to show and tell you how much you mean to him.

thirty minutes down the drain.

he wanted to throw the gifts in his hand away, stomp on them in anger but he holds back from that impulse and instead places the things down on the nearest table to call you.

pick up, pick up, pick up!

nothing. you declined the call and no matter how often he tried calling you again, you always declined. he had to get to you as fast as possible so he calls an uber, gets his presents from the table where he laid them down and quickly gets in when the car arrives “to cold spring mall please…”

he wanted to tell the driver to make it quick but he knew that he couldn’t drive faster than he’s supposed to either so he just keeps quiet, impatiently tapping his foot on the floor of the uber. as soon as he arrives at his destination he thanks the driver and quickly gets out. the spring mall is near to where you live so he didn’t need to walk very long until he arrived at your apartment and ring the bell “who’s there?”

ni ki smiles as he hears your voice from the small speaker. finally he heard your voice and you even sounded relatively happy “it’s me. could you open up?”

he could hear you sigh but eventually a buzz is audible, signaling him that the door is now open so he quickly pushes against it with his shoulder since his hands are full. he gets inside the elevator and makes his way to your floor, clearing his throat one last time before the doors open and he steps out of the elevator, walking towards your door where you’re already standing, arms crossed in front of yourself but as soon as you notice what’s in his hands your eyes widen and your lips part slightly “what’s all that about? you trying to buy your way into my life again?”

in response he quickly shakes his head and holds the bouquet, the chocolate and the small teddy out towards you, a small apologetic smile on his lips “there was a lot of traffic… and i— took quite some time on deciding what to buy you…”

the nervousness was clear in both his voice and his body language, still holding out the gifts for you to take. you motion your head inside with a soft sigh “come in.”

“thank you…” he whispers out under his breath, cheeks slightly covered with a pink hue as he walks past you, takes off his shoes and heads toward the living room where he places the gifts down.

“look yn— i’m so terribly sorry for making you wait for so long—“ but before he could finish what he wanted to say you engulf him into a hug, your arms wrapped around his neck and your head resting against his shoulder. this time ni ki was the one to let out a sigh, his hands wrapping around your waist as he hugs you back. finally he had you in his arms again. he was able to feel your warmth, hear your heartbeat and hear your voice in person without making you cry… “i’m so terribly sorry…”

he whispers into your neck as he strokes your lower back soothingly, eyes closed to enjoy the moment even more “i was such a dick… it’s not excusable and i know that but maybe you could— forgive me?”

you nod your head against his shoulder before looking up into his eyes “i forgive you… but if you pull that shit again, i’m gonna— i’m not going to give you another chance, okay?” you gently hold his face in the palm of your hands “promise me, ni ki. promise me you won’t do that again. you won’t ignore me, you won’t treat me like i’m nothing…”

tears started to build in both of your eyes. he nods frantically and leans into you, placing a soft and long awaited kiss on your soft lips. those lips from which he missed hearing your beautiful laugh from. finally he had you back and he would never let you go again.
