Just checking in! I'm still here, lurking in the background. I have lots of ideas (and an ask box full of requests) that I'm excited to work on! I started a PhD in English Lit, which has been taking up a lot of time, but it is really fun. Between that and teaching full-time, it's been a lot.
I'm finally going to try some ADHD meds after rawdogging life for 20+ years, so I'm hoping that also helps me get back to writing.
Things I've been casually working on for anyone curious:
Trust Part 3 (Well... getting into my old computer where the doc is written but unedited to finish it)
A couple Dramione fics that, if I ever finish, will go to AO3 where I have 3 wips that I should probably officialy mark abandoned because I don't remember the plot anyway
Another Zemo fic that's basically Trust but slightly different... but I'm gonna write it anyway because we need more MCU Zemo fics
A dark and disturbing but highly OOC Nathan Bateman fic (this one's entirely in my head atm)
Hurt/comfort enemies/rivals to lovers with Poe Dameron
Anyway, I hope to get reinvolved in the ff and fandom communities soon!

I totally agree with you about the changes made to pjo, im certain that what doesnt make sense now will be explained in later eps. And this might be a me thing but I like it when adaptions changes some things. Because then I get two versions of the thing I like and sure sometimes I really prefer what happens in the book but sometimes I like what the adaptions did more.
There are two things id wish been different this ep, I wish wed gotten to see percy talking to the zebra because the zebra is in the title and I wish wed gotten a montage of them having fun at the casino. But for me those are small negatives and the episode was mostly fun and I really liked percy driving a car which is something the show added.
Taxi driver Percy was iconic! I agree 100% with your points. Percy talking to the zebra would have been so good. I'm interested to see how/when they incorporate his speaking to horses ability.
I do love going into the final episodes and having to theorize!

Okay, thoughts and spoilers for Percy Jackson episode 6 (We Take a Zebra to Vegas) below.
(Includes spoilers for the whole book also)
I took a few screen writing classes in college, and it's ruined how I see film and TV writing. So, here goes, my theories on the plot changes.
The 4 pearls instead of 3: They absolutely did this to show that Poseidon is thinking about Sally. I have no doubt that this is character development for Poseidon. Give him some good PR. Humanize him to Percy and us.
Second, I'm guessing we see another demigod in the Underworld who takes the 4th pearl. Remember Hades is missing his Helm of Darkness. If Luke puts a bug in his ear that it's Clarisse, he'll go after her.
Or, maybe Luke is there for some reason. They save Luke. It makes his betrayal all the worse. Having Luke on screen to react in the background is a good way to set up his plot twist without it seeming like a goofy afterthought. It's hard to do a plot twist when a character doesn't get a lot of screen time. It can feel very cheap.
The Summer Solstice dealine change: Again, I see this as a plot change for character purposes more than something to drastically affect the story. This setting forces Percy to actively choose to continue the whole quest. He's not just doing it to save his mom now. He's becoming a hero because he made that choice.
And I know everyone is freaking out about this, but honestly, it takes a little time to get an army assembled. It's a pretty reasonable change to just say Zeus and Poseidon didn't start amassing armies until after the Solstice.
This could also be a great way to get Luke into the Underworld setting. Oh, Percy failed? Luke volunteers under the guise of helping but really wants to be sure the Master Bolt gets to Tartarus.
Anyway, those are my theories. Very excited for the next 2 weeks.

I have been rereading TBOSAS and annotating as I go. I'll be adding my favorite thoughts and connections to this post as I read.
Obviously, there will be book and movie spoilers for the entire THG series.
Introduction
The choice of quotes on the opening page is deliberate, of course. But why Frankenstein? Like a LotR fan talking about Viggo Mortensen's broken toe, when discussing Frankenstein, people can't help but comment the classic analysis, "the doctor was the real monster all along." Which raises the question of who in this novel is the doctor and who is the creation? Is it Gaul and Snow, respectively? Gaul, a monster by any standard, creates a monster? Is is the Capitol and the districts, respectively? The Capitol's monstrous game creates monsters in the arena? Both? Neither? Another thing entirely?
Chapters 1-3
First, Avoxes had been around since before the Dark Days. Which makes you wonder what else existed in the pre-Games era and how much of Snow's presidency was just bringing back old evils
Second, grammatically speaking, "humming" is something the garbage trucks, not Avoxes, are doing. Intentional or not on Suzannes part, we are already seeing Snow dehumanizing those he considers less than, even personifying garbage trucks and giving them more human qualities that he gives to actual humans.
My note here is simply that a mayor's daughter plays a significant role in the story of Lucy Gray and Katniss, and of course, Maysilee is the mayor's wife's sister. Unclear what this means, but I don't believe in coincidences in fiction.
Lucy Gray gives off major Peeta energy, and while there is absolutely a place for the Katniss and Lucy Gray comparison, we should also consider the parallels between Peeta and Lucy Gray and then Katniss and Jessup. More on this later.
And finally, the genius of Suzanne Collins' foreshadowing (pg. 39, paperback). Coryo jumps right to this conclusion twice, and that speaks to him being a character who both doesn't trust people and assumes the worst of people.

I would eat up a well written, high budget, 22-24 episode season of Young Avengers. Just hear me out.
In the comics, the YA are formed by Iron Lad (a child Kang variant) in the absence of the Avengers. Iron Lad forms the team to stop older Kang (aka what he is going to become).
Let's keep this as an underlying season long plot. It gives us time and development for Kang with minimal Majors - obviously, a younger actor would play Iron Lad.
The 22-24 episode season gives us a ton of time to get to know characters we met (Stature, Ms. Marvel, Kate, America), characters we kinda know (Patriot, the Maximoff Twins), and new characters.
The whole time, we're getting to see everyone develop as heroes while seeing their real lives as teenagers. Character development is the name of the game in this fake show. How are they balancing their two lives? Who's screwing things up? Who's got it figured out?
Fun and logical cameos from the adult heroes. Maybe an episode takes the team to a location that another hero already looks after.
Give me some team romance and teen drama.
Give me an of the week format. Mystery of the week. Monster of the week. Nothing that requires significant adult Avenger interference. Mostly low-stakes conflict.
Hints of the Iron Lad/Kang conflict are sprinkled throughout and eventually dealt with in the finale.
The Marvels/Loki 2.6 spoilers below
Kid Loki continues the Loki tradition of reluctant Kang/Loki alliances. He shows up with Iron Lad through whatever multiversal shenanigans get Iron Lad here.
Honestly, let God of Stories Loki/the TVA have helped to orchestrate this whole thing somehow. Just hint at it.
Maybe it's just Kate and Kamala at first. In episode 1 they add Cassie. We see other characters in their own stories being solo heroes; maybe they are recruited later, maybe they go the the YAs asking to join.
