I was watching Into the Spiderverse again and started thinking about the trains in the story.
A lot of significant scenes are related to trains and train imagery. Where the train represents like the train of fate.
Here are some scenes that I noticed:
Graffiti scene (at the beginning of a train line): represents how Miles journey is just starting. The train of fate is created when the spider bites him.
Prowler scaling him after Peter Parker died (same tracks, the train nearly hits him but he dodges): Here his fate/destiny is racing at him (to become Spider-Man) but he’s not ready and avoids it instead of facing it head on.
Train scene in the particle accelerator (this time he’s in the train): he’s finally accepted his fate and riding through it.
This is pretty significant because in the break away scene in across the spider verse, Miles leaves the train, leaving the other spider people on it, signifying breaking away from a preconceived notion of destiny.
