It's been a while...
It's me. Your favorite or not so favorite author 😅 I know I've been away for quite a while, but there's a good reason for that. During the summer, I've lost a family member who I cherished deeply and that hit me hard. Then one of my closest friends went through hell recently and I had to be there for her. Then the university happened and so much more but one thing I came to FINALLY realize and believe is that EVERYBODY LIES.
It starts from the moment you're born - our parents lie to us about Santa Claus and his existence, then the friends in school tell us that they are busy or their moms won't let them out to play just because they don't like you or are too lazy to go out. After that comes the time when you get a boyfriend or a girlfriend and they tell you they are sick, or busy, or they are away while they are with someone else or choose another activity over you, the boss at work who promises a promotion but that promotion somehow never comes. Then, the wives and husbands who in the beginning are so thoughtful and caring and would do the impossible to aid you but after a while this too comes to an end and those people show their true faces - you're sick - they don't want to help with chores or whatever, need someone to pick you up - you're too far away or called too late because now they are home and don't want to go out again, you forgot to buy something from the store - too bad, your partner is more tired than you so go get it yourself and so on...
In the end turns out that the promises we give, the lengths we go to and everything we do means nothing, because the opposite side gets tired of giving and only wants to receive from some point on. But in the beginning we lie and lie and lie through our teeth so we can chain someone to us, to do something for us and be of good use.
Sorry for the rant but I've been so sick of my situation that I needed to vent. Feel free to give your input if you want...

Sooooo... about TEW (yes yes they are TEW much too handle) hahahah😂😅 let me stop. But I was wondering is there a particular reason you flip between OT7 names and their demon names?
In the beginning I was trying to use the demon names at times when they were mean or doing dark stuff and then their human names in lighter situations. Also there was the idea to center the whole story around Yoongi and Jin and the "profile" of Jin's character that I've written was supposed to be mocking and annoying so he would use their human names to get on the others' nerves but then I strayed too much from that concept. Now I do it just because I like. Can you imagine their eyes glinting, looking menacing, in full transformation and someone calls their demon names? I find it thrilling and satisfying 🤭🤭

I was wondering if Seemingly Flawless would be continued? It’s so different than anything I have read!
You know there was so much negative feedback littering my Ask for a while after posting the first chapter of the fic 😅 Everyone came to me saying how evil I was for portraying Hobi as some kind of a villain... So I put it on hold for a long while but still have my drafts for the last part. Most probably I will post it in due time. I'm so happy that you came on here to ask especially for it. I appreciate it so much Anon, thanks for reading 😭💖💖

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I haven’t seen you in a while” Jimin smiled when Jungkook entered the meeting room. His hair was longer than the last time that they saw each other but the silver color was still there.
“Been busy” Mammon replied without trying to explain why. All of them knew.
At the other side of the room Noir, Alastor and Gaap were discussing something over an enormous map that was laid out on the table. When the General saw the other King he approached and the two shared a brotherly hug. “I hope things are going well” his tone was just as calm as always.
The tattooed man only nodded.
“A man of few words” Namjoon spoke without lifting his eyes from the map. “Just on time. We have to make a decision but it’s a tie so your input would be more than appreciated.”
“That’s why I came - to help.”
Taehyung felt how tense Mammon was and wondered if this combined with what he was about to hear next is going to be the perfect recipe for disaster. Gaap liked to be prepared for all kinds of situations so he got closer to Jungkook in order to stop him from pouncing on someone if that ever happened. Let's just include a short note here and say that King Mammon was not aggressive without a good reason but now considering what had happened with Y/N not so long ago the other four wondered if he could have become irrational.
Hoseok was fidgety by the table at this point and wasn't paying any attention to what Namjoon was so eager to explain. He had to keep his head high but explain the struggles he had to deal with the previous weeks.
"Can I talk to you before we start?" He asked, meeting Jungkook's sharp eyes. At this point there was no wrong or right way to say whatever - everything has gone to shit so the only option was to be as transparent as possible and hope for the best.
"Let's hear it" Mammon's smug and mocking expression was enough to put off anyone. His side smirk was laced with disgust and bitterness. "Please note that nothing you say now will be able to make up for what you've done."
Hoseok sighed softly, nodding once before he gathered the courage to begin. "Look I hate this. I don't like apologies and won't give you one but I know I've caused you pain. And… Y/N too." It was still hard to say her name. "There's nothing more I desire than to fix what my jealousy and pettiness managed to destroy."
Jungkook laughed and on the side it sounded like a whole-hearted genuine laugh but it wasn't. The other three demons were standing quietly on the side, pretending to mind their business. Taehyung could see King Alastor becoming anxious.
"You know this tale about the bear and the bad word? In one of the nations in the human world, old people use it a lot to teach the kids to mind their way of speech." There was a note of sadism in Jungkook's behavior, the man was enjoying this and wanted it to last for as long as possible. He wished for Hoseok to crawl and suffer in Y/N's place. "It goes like this - the boy saw a bear cub in the woods one day. It was struggling, stuck in a thorn bush so the boy decided that it was best to help. The mama bear somehow saw it and offered the guy a friendship and he accepted. They became close and talked for a while. One time as a goodbye the boy kissed the bear's snout. It smelled so bad and without even thinking he expressed the disgust he felt when the stench hit him. The mama bear didn't say much, just asked him to hit her with his ax on the head, as hard as he could. Even though he tried talking the bear out of it, in the end the animal threatened to eat him if the guy didn't comply with her wish. He did it and felt extremely guilty for it. For a few years after that they didn't see each other in the woods. At some point their paths crossed once again in a different place in the forest. Before he left the bear asked him to look for the wound but no matter how hard he tried nothing could be seen on the animal's skin - there wasn't even a scar. The boy was amazed by this but the bear said then that a bad wound can be healed and forgotten but a bad word can never be forgotten. It would stay with the bear until the day it died." Jungkook walked closer to the King and stared at him with cold eyes. "Do you get it now? It doesn't matter what you will say to me or to Y/N. She is in a bad place now but things are looking up. What you did to her mind is another topic though, the terrors you've put her through will never be forgotten even if she decides to forgive you."
Long silence followed after Jungkook stopped talking. No one dared to move and Alastor was trying to decide if there's a point to continue. Jimin was surprised, mildly said, to see this side of his friend. To be honest he didn't even remember if there was a time when Mammon was ever like that… "Jungkook, I hate this. This is my promise to you now - I may have been biased and quick to judge Y/N but this is in the past now. I will do everything in my power to support and keep this girl safe since she's so important to everyone. In reality she has never done anything bad to me or anyone else for that matter. Everything after a certain point was my wrongdoing and it will change in the future if she lets me… and you too."
"We will see about that. It's all up to her." There was nothing more to be said. King Mammon turned around and approached the table where the other three demons had gathered.
"Monica?" Y/N whined squeezing the pillow in her hands. She needed someone to hold her so badly and the feeling of being alone was simply unbearable. "When i-is Koo coming?"
"In a while m'lady" the maid rushed to the bed placing her hands over the girl's in an attempt to calm her down. "He promised a few hours right?"
"Mmh." Feeling completely worn out the young woman plopped down on her side facing Monica. "You 'ave pretty hair" she whispered. Y/N was becoming drowsy once more and a few minutes were keeping her away from the oncoming nap.
"Sleep m'lady. You will feel better when you wake up…"
“What?!” Jungkook spat out, his voice bubbling with anger. “How did you even reach this… this… I don't even know what to call it?”
“Decision?” Namjoon raised an eyebrow.
“Don’t get cheeky with me.”
“But it’s the best we can do” Jimin slammed his hand on the table, feeling like he had reached his limit. “If we leave the frontline unsupervised, who knows what might happen!”
Taehyung sighed and opened his mouth to speak but at the same time King Mammon began shouting, throwing his hands in the air. “Why the fuck did Taehyung trained all those sergeants if they're gonna stay here and scratch their balls?" The fact was that the military personnel was enough to cover the Northern and Eastern borders without any problem but Jimin and Hoseok doubted it would be enough. Taehyung of course trusted his men with his head and Namjoon had faith in the General's judgment. "Only two borders need protection at this point. The other two nations have nothing to do with this war so they won't interfere." Jungkook was fuming.
"Are you sure?" Alastor asked with a low voice. He knew from the beginning that the King of the North would be against this proposition so now he wondered why they were even trying to persuade him.
"A thousand percent sure" the tattooed demon gritted his teeth in the end.
"I know for a fact that Agares will join the troops no matter what our decision tonight is." This was a simple fact but Jimin felt the need to say it. The silver-haired man also knew that…
"I don't care about Agares or Baal or whoever else." Ah… so predictable. "My vote goes for us to stay here." At this point his signature involuntary action made an appearance again - when he was annoyed or angry Jungkook was poking the inside of his cheek with tongue.
This was turning out to be a disaster like their previous talk. A new idea struck Noir while he was folding the map. "Listen to me, I think I found middle ground just now. What if we take turns going to the borders?" The King smiled widely, extending his hands to the sides. The strong presence he had always came in handy especially if he needed to persuade someone. Now after all he had heard the demon saw it as convenient to have one of them with the low-class demons at all times.
"Take turns?" It was Taehyung who spoke up now, intrigued by the new suggestion. "You mean as in someone stays here and someone goes there?" This could be interesting. King Corson nodded, seeing his first supporter in the face of Gaap.
"Precisely." He clicked his fingers engulfed by excitement. Maybe this time the conversation wouldn't go to shit and everyone would be happy. "You see to some extent I agree with Jungkook and Taehyung that the soldiers are trained for a reason but also…" Namjoon smiled. "I prefer to take part and overlook the battle. It's our duty as Kings. The new abilities we got with the Sins we possess now…"
King Alastor's eyes began shining with excitement "It will be just epic. The victory can be ours if things play out nicely."
At this point this sounded like the best option for everyone - Agares would stay with the troops probably the whole time, Baal too, as for General Gaap it was a hundred percent sure. The other four - they could take turns because it wasn't a good decision to leave Doordale in the hands of the Ministry. Jungkook was still deep in thought. He couldn't stand the fact that he should leave Y/N alone for certain periods of time, the demon felt responsible for her and wanted to be there but at the same time he knew his duties very well. Also let's keep in mind that all of them were demons, higher ones at that and warfare and depravities were part of their nature.
As much as some of them wanted to run away from all that - it could never happen - you can never change those primal roots of origin.
"Fine. Let's split the "shifts"" Mammon looked tired and drained. He just wanted this to be over already. He checked his watch - he still had around an hour and a half. Even though he would be back on time the man was considering actually going to the goldsmith and getting a golden bouquet for Y/N.
"Me and Alastor will go first then" it was Jimin who took the initiative. The two Kings worked together like a well oiled machine and what one was lacking the other - was compensating. Such a nice duo.
"I will join you too" Taehyung stepped forward too. "My suggestion is that we switch every five days. No need to travel by horse - it will be most convenient to use the Wishing Well."
Jungkook frowned upon hearing those words. "That's not enough."
"In a normal battle - maybe - but now imagine that: they will start to think at some point that we've shown all there is." The General began gesturing with his beautifully sculpted hands. "At some point when the new party arrives - boom! New tactics, new leaders, new formations."
"Does this mean that whenever we switch places new soldiers will be joining us?" It hasn't occurred to Namjoon and it definitely didn't sound very practical, hearing it now.
Taehyung waved his hands in frustration. "No, no. This is very impractical. How are they gonna travel?" The demon clicked his tongue, to him all of this sounded so simple and easy to think of but apparently to the rest - not so much. The main reason Gaap had this position was because it all came naturally to him - the demon wasn't stressing out or struggling to come up with different plans and no efforts were required. "Listen now - a lot of transparent potions will be prepared. The troops responsible for carrying weapons and food will be also transporting the vials. When they reach this place" the General placed his gloved finger over the map "there's literally nothing here. Only greenery and many animal holes. The vegetation is so abundant here that it will be perfectly fine for the soldiers to hide the stash." His eyes were burning while explaining every little detail. The other four were listening patiently, memorizing each word. "Some of the troops will stay behind and begin drinking the potions. You know the effects - they will lose shape and color for five hours. The groups will be scattered around a three kilometer perimeter so if something happens they would be close enough." Jungkook was impressed - if he didn't know the General he would definitely think that the plan took weeks to be developed. "Everything clear?"
"Certainly" it was a question for all but Namjoon answered instead, as he was the core of their bond.
"Very well. We depart in three days."
When Jungkook entered the palace everything was just the same as when he had left earlier today. No commotion, nothing out of the ordinary, only the guards and the staff at their respective places.
"Good evening, Your Majesty" the butler bowed and reached out to get the cloak off the King's bread shoulders.
"Is everything okay with Y/N?" He asked flatly.
"Of course Sir. The maid stayed by m'lady's side the whole time, now she's asleep." The butler followed Mammon through the corridor informing him of the events that took place around the residence while he was gone. "Is there anything you would like Sir?" It was a simple question asked as per usual with a tone devoid of any emotion, just part of the protocol.
Usually Jungkook either waved a dismissive hand or immediately said what he wanted to be done but this time the demon stopped in his tracks and turned to the man. The King looked at the butler - his face was still blank, there was a scar that began from his left ear and ended in the middle of the chin. Long time ago this demon was part of Leviathan's army but after the coup he joined Mammon's household. Siwan was his name and he was the one to join the palace's staff first becoming the head of it, recruiting and taking care of the other members. "You see I need you to do something for me, it's important to be done as fast as possible because Y/N's wellbeing could depend on it."
"Certainly My Lord. Just say the word."
"Listen…"
When the King entered the bedroom Monica was sitting on the chair next to the window, reading a book. The second he opened the door she jumped to her feet and bowed to him.
"I believe things were fine?" he asked, whispering.
"Of course! Lady Y/N was anxious in the beginning but after a while she fell asleep." The maid seemed happy that the girl was recovering, even though it was a slow process.
Jungkook turned to look at the young woman - she was resting and no sign of distress could be seen on her face. Not like last time… the demon winced, feeling physically sick while thinking about the agonizing terrors Y/N had to deal with. "You're free to go now, Monica."
He removed the leather vest and his shoes, then got closer to the bed. On the nightstand there was a glass of water and another one filled with milk. Mammon left the golden bouquet there too for later when Y/N woke up. Climbing in the bed he carefully wrapped his arms around her figure, taking a deep breath - she felt so fragile and small. How could this body hold such great powers he wondered. Y/N's hair smelled like almonds probably because of the hair soap. The warmth emitting from her was enough to calm the demon down and put him to sleep. He felt dizzy and lightheaded so Jungkook closed his eyes, drifting in and out of consciousness.
"You got the letter right?!" Jin almost busted down the door to Yoongi's office because of the excitement. Another day gone and he was still the same old exhilarated self.
Baal turned around in his chair, swirling the liquor in his glass. He nodded with a smirk. "Sure did."
"We're leaving in three days! It's been so long!" The Master was ecstatic which was something that hasn't happened in so long, ever since the problems with Y/N started. Now he was in his element.
"Just don't break anything," his advisor laughed lightly. Both of them were dressed casually with silk shirts and black pants but Jin wanted to have a celebratory dinner and dress up for the occasion.
"Let's spoil ourselves tonight Yoongi! Let's have a drink and… no more like lots of drinks and party!" He spread his jewelry-cladded arms and the metals produced a nice jingling sound.
The other demon just continued smiling then nodded once, feeling the excitement too. But then his joy faded away just as fast as it came. "Hey, Yoongi, what's wrong? I thought you wanted this to happen?" worry surfaced on the Master's face.
"I just wish Y/N was here so we can share it with her too, you know?"
It felt like daggers were stabbing Baal's heart after saying each word. "I know…" Jin sighed and his glee also died down a bit. "But you know she will be here for the next one - we will have many other occasions to celebrate with her. Even the victory-"
"We don't know if it will be a victory" the mint-haired demon cut him off mid sentence. "Don't jinx it."
"Okay, whatever. Let's just go change and do our thing. You will feel better."
"Fine…" now what Yoongi needed was a way to pass the time until Y/N had recovered and the oncoming battles were just the right thing. Then and there the advisor made up his mind to give it his all and win.
Baal got distracted with imaginary situations - in his mind a picture appeared of how the seven of them are returning from the war victorious. Yoongi's armor - covered in blood, as well as his face and hands but when Y/N sees the demon she runs up to him and they kiss like there's no tomorrow. It was nice to dream…
"Hey Earth to Yoongi!" Jin was snapping his fingers in the other man's face. "Get it together! We have three days ahead of us to down each bottle in the residence!" The laughter that followed almost made the windows shake.
At one point Jungkook felt hot breath on the curve of his neck and his eyes flew open and the pupils shrunk to small dots. Without moving an inch the demon began "mapping" the parts of his body and Y/N's. He was flat on his back with one arm still wrapped around her waist and the other - supporting the demon's head. The girl was sleeping peacefully partially draped over Jungkook's body - head slightly tilted upwards and back on his shoulder while hugging the King with a knee between the man's legs.
Oh, the desire to turn around and kiss her was real. So real.
"Y/N…" Mammon gritted his teeth and closed his eyes in an attempt to center himself.
"Hnhg…" she began stirring. The demon froze immediately. What would he do when she wakes up? How to behave? "Kookie?" Y/N rasped, taking a deep breath. To her he smelled clean, like freshly cut wood and grass.
"Hey princess. I'm here" the first thing he wanted to do was give the girl her present. Carefully Jungkook tried getting up but she squeezed him and produced a whiny sound of protest. "Shh. I just want to give you something pretty" reaching out he felt for the metal and then presented the bouquet to Y/N. "I kept my promise to be back in time but still decided to give you this because you're my special one."
When the young woman saw the shiny object her eyes widened and turned glossy. She felt confusion setting in and then realization hit her - he promised to be back and did it but still wanted to surprise her. That's what responsible grown up people do. And also they thank each other - Y/N’s mind was slowly guiding her back to normality, trying to reassure and lead in the right direction. “Thank… you” she whispered, taking the gift with trembling hands. “It’s beautiful.”
“Not as beautiful as you” Jungkook smiled, the lip rings hitting his teeth.
The compliment made Y/N’s face turn hot and red. It was so adorable in Jungkook’s eyes but she felt embarrassed and annoyed. “D-don’t say such things if you’re going to leave me alone again” the woman huffed and squeezed the metallic flowers to her chest.
“I will not.” Lie. Of course it was a lie but Mammon had six more days to help his precious girl recover and by then maybe it wouldn’t be necessary to leave her at all…
The next day preparations for the upcoming battle began in the capital. The armory was turned upside down, each item carefully counted and written down in the book, the swords were polished and sharpened, some of the shields - sent to the blacksmiths in order to get reinforced and so on…
Warlocks gathered in the Academy around noon so they could begin working on the potion stash. Taehyung was leading the operations, shouting orders here and there if it was needed, also giving final instructions to the soldiers and revising their strategy. Jimin and Hoseok were back to the West and South so they could take care of the local affairs before departing, while Noir stayed in the capital, having coutnless meetings with the people from the Ministry.
What everyone hoped for was for a possible comeback from Y/N so she could lend a hand if needed. Of course they all knew it was a last resort considering what she'd been through and that was the reason why they didn't even try asking Jungkook about it.
The King of the North was giving his best to reassure and help Y/N on her journey to recovery. The progress was slow but the conversations were getting better, she was becoming more confident in expressing herself and getting bolder. The key was to not pressure the girl in any way so she doesn't revert and have another breakdown. The same day while the two of them were dining a male servant knocked over a silver jug full of water. The loud sound terrified Y/N and she screamed in horror, then knocked back her chair and ran to Jungkook who hugged her and began whispering soothing words in the girl's ear. In the process the demon had thrown a cold hateful stare at the man, then tilted his head to the door signaling for him to leave the dining hall.
It was a rough period but with patience and diligence Mammon believed that everything was fixable.
On the second day Y/N woke up earlier than usual and got out of bed to look at herself in the big mirror hanging on the wall.
“My hair…” she whispered. It was a total mess, tangled and fuzzy. On a regular day the young woman would never let this pass but now was an unusual occasion. Memories of the past flooded her mind, making Y/N wince and scrunch her nose in disgust. She took a few strands between two fingers and lifted them up looking at the state of the hair. Long ago, when those episodes were happening regularly the regression period was ending usually in a few hours to a day. She was giving it to the fact that Mrs. Y/L/N was helping her, the sessions at the psychiatrist and also - the poor thing’s brain hadn’t had taken such a massive hit.
Going to the door she took a few deep breaths and pressed the handle. Going out in the hallway barefoot didn’t bother Y/N much at the moment. You know how kids walk around in the morning when they wake up - in their pajamas and no socks or slippers to speak of, then their parents would scold them that they would eventually get sick. Y/N was the same now. “Monica?” she said quietly but no one answered. Two guards stood at the end of the corridor, facing each other and heard the girl. One of them immediately vanished, heading somewhere. “Monica I need a comb…” she went on while walking on the cold marble.
“Can I help you m’lady?” It was the demon who was left standing in his place who asked.
“Where’s Monica?” the curious tilt of her head made Y/N seem like a little girl.
“In the kitchen. Should I call-“
“Y/N!” Jungkook’s voice came from the further side of the hallway. Immediately recognising the sweet comforting voice of the King she spun around on her heels and ran towards him.
“Kookie!” The girl jumped in the demon’s open arms and he lifted her up. “Let’s do something today,” the tone was joyful and his muscles relaxed. Nothing bad had happened.
“Why are you out of bed barefoot?” Looking down the King asked calmly.
“I wanted to find a comb.” Y/N explained with a pout. “My hair is terrible.”
“Your hair is fine,” he replied with a smile. “Just… oh look!” With a shocked expression Mammon pointed a finger at her. “There’s a nest with small birds inside! That’s amazing!” He ruffled the girl's hair and she began laughing.
“I don’t!”
The guards and the servants passing around heard the two of them laughing and were shocked and surprised to see and hear all of this. No one in the whole Kingdom would believe that the King of the North who was usually so cold and quiet could behave in such a way. He was notorious for acting haughty and harshly but now… there wasn’t anyone who would believe the stories of the servants telling how their King was playing and laughing with a woman.
Jungkook lifted Y/N up in the air and began walking back to her room. “Come I will brush your hair.”
“Put me down! Don’t carry me around like that! I’m not some fragile princess!” The protests fell on deaf ears.
“Oh but you are!” He closed the door behind them and the guards were left speechless in the corridor, looking at each other with wide eyes.
On the third day everything began looking almost as it was before. Y/N was serious most of the time, quieter. There were only two outbursts of laughter during the day - once when Jungkook made a disgusted face while looking at an ugly handwriting of one of the officials in a document and the second time - during lunch when he choked while swallowing a vegetable.
"It just sounded funny," Y/N said with a wide grin. The King didn't mind one bit.
Later the two were taking a stroll in the back garden and she paused in front of one big crooked tree. The girl appeared deep in thought so he didn't bother her by asking why she had decided to stop exactly at that spot.
It was a difficult time for her - she understood perfectly well this state of mind was not normal for Y/N and yet it was comfortable. Her brain was not straining or running laps like a while ago but now it was all coming together. The young woman felt ready to talk to Jungkook. "I need to tell you something."
"Sure. Tell me Y/N" he put a hand on her shoulder to reassure her.
"First of all I want to thank you for the efforts and enormous patience you've had with me."
"But that's not needed, I did it because I care about you." Those words made Y/N blush and turn shy but she tried pushing forward despite the need to regress once more.
"Uhm… sorry, it's… you almost made me revert back." With an awkward smile she turned to look at him. From what the psychiatrist had said certain words and behavior could trigger shifts in her state of mind and it was best if the girl warned those around her about those. "I feel so much better now, almost as before. Just…" she took a deep breath trying to sound confident. "What I think is that from this certain point on you can behave like you did in the past. Of course keep in mind you have to be careful not to trigger me for a while, but I think I'm in the safe now."
Jungkook's chest began rising up rapidly, oh this thrill, the buzz of hearing this was making him want to fly. "Whatever you want Y/N" his voice rose a few octaves and with trembling hands Mammon cupped Y/N's face. The urge to envelope the young woman in a tight hug was almost unbearable and also…
"You can kiss me," she smiled kindly. "I see you want to."
Without waiting to be told twice he dived in. It was so long since the demon had felt this whole. Jungkook moved one hand to her waist and the other places behind Y/N's neck, pulling her closer. The feelings this action stirred were mutual - she was content and thankful for all the demon had done and proud because the struggles to overcome that low-point led to a happy ending in this "chapter" of her book. After a few seconds they separated and Y/N rested her forehead on the King's collarbone. "You think we can call Trophonius here so he can help me fully recover and guide me further into choosing a side?"
"We can do it now" Jungkook grabbed the girl's hand and the two ran back to the palace.
A few hours later the Oracle was there and they were escorted to one of the training rooms. Jungkook promised not to bother the two so he returned to his office to look at some war diagrams.
The sun was setting already but the white-haired man and Y/N were still talking, sitting cross-legged facing each other.
“Are you sure you want to choose the darker side? Your parents wouldn’t want you to, they were striving for the Light their whole lives.” It was irritating to listen to this but Y/N was giving her best to be rational and reasonable and listen to all the Oracle had to say.
“It’s so tiring to think of what someone would want from me or for me. It’s my choice in the end, isn’t it?” So much for the attempts not to sound like a brat… Trophonius’ lips widened ever so slightly in a small smile. This was a sign that Y/N has not given up on her free will and wanted to be in control of what was coming her way. Satisfactory enough.
“Very well child” Trophonius praised and put his hands together. The girl appeared confused for a few seconds but quickly understood that his words were just a test so she nodded with a straight face. “So how you want to go about it? There’s a way to get those abilities faster or you want to wait and help me guide you naturally to them?”
A question for a million dollars. How to do it…? She remembered that time when Mammon had explained how the demons were getting their powers and the process usually was taking decades.Y/N couldn’t wait that long. “I want the shorter way” was what she told the Oracle.
“As exprected.”
“General!” one of the soldiers saluted when he entered the meeting hall. “I have terrible news.”
“What?” Taehyung placed the pen calmly in the holder and casted his eyes up at the lower demon. “Pilwon came forty minutes ago to tell me that the check was going well.”
“We have seventeen long swords missing.”
Gaap’s ears began ringing. “How is that possible?”
“I decided to do a double check before sealing the armory and this is what I came up with” he presented a sheet of paper with the newly counted weapons. The swords that were gone were made of draconic steel and were causing severe burns if someone was cut with it.
“This is bad. Very bad… there’s still a spy among us. Fuck!” The General shouted and kicked and desk, it toppled over and sheets of paper and ink began flying everywhere. “Impossible! That’s just impossible! We checked every unit in the legions!”
The other demon stood quietly on the side, looking at the raging man. “What should we do?” He asked quietly.
“We can’t do shit now! We’re leaving in a few hours…”
Later Trophonius was ready to do his thing. He was standing straight, facing Y/N and holding hands with her. Their energies were intertwining and doing an invisible dance. “Now be ready to let go of all barriers in your head. We’re going back to the time when you first saw the markings on your face. Don’t be scared. You must let them spread all over your body and soul.”
“Is it going to hurt?” she asked the white-haired man sheepishly. The small child in her was still surfacing from time to time.
“Don’t worry to much, I will be as gentle as possible. Of course those things are not pleasant but the key is to not give up. Can you do that for me?”
Taking a deep breath there was one final request from Y/N before starting the ritual. “Can we call Jungkook too? I need him to be here…” there was shyness in her voice but Trophonius seemed unbothered. Letting go of the the young woman’s hands he nodded.
“Let’s call the King.”
Minutes later the demon appeared at the doorway, his gaze falling immediately on Y/N. “You sent for me? Is there something wrong?”
“No. Y/N wanted you to be here for the initiation.”
“Oh” King Mammon looked surprised. Closing the door he stepped closer to the two. “You’ve chosen a side then, princess?” Wide smile softened his sharp features and the man’s nose scrunched at the base. His happiness was not fake, not anymore. The demon was ready to accept whatever Y/N had chosen.
Y/N answered him with a confident smile.
“Then you should take a seat somewhere and wait patiently. Don’t interfere because our bond might be severed and I don’t know what might happen.” Jungkook turned around and slowly approached one of the chairs that were further from them.
“Now then. Take my hands” Trophonius instructed the girl. “I will tap in your memories once again and find the one we need. It will play just the way it had happened in the beginning but you need to find the precise trigger moment and change it yourself. I told you” the Oracle’s long slim fingers were wrapped around Y/N’s tightly and she could feel the soft electric surges going through her. He was already doing it. “Let it play, don’t fight it, don’t be scared. You must let the change wash over you.”
“Okay…”
And it began…
Y/N was back in the bathroom of the room she was using then. She was lazily washing her face and teeth, not paying any attention to anything. Then the girl bent over to rinse her mouth of the toothpaste and when she got up there were the markings. Her eyes widened in horror at the sight of the reflection. Scream was ready to escape Y/N’s lips but she took a deep breath in an attempt to ground herself, then her facial features haredened and the eyes got colder.
Raising her voice she called for King Mammon specifically this time. “Jungkook! I need you now!” The sound echoed loudly in the bathroom and seconds later the demon was standing at the door.
“What…” when he saw the scene his eyes widened. “What is going on?”
“I need your help with this.” Y/N informed him flatly and turned to the pierced demon. She placed her hands on his muscular chest and stared straight into Mammon’s eyes. “Do you know what are those weird stains?” He couldn’t take his eyes off the inky black substance sliding down the girl’s chin and neck.
“You’re a demon Y/N” the King gritted his teeth still in shock. “Those are the markings of the transformation.”
“What is their purpose?”
“To show what kind of power you will possess once you’re fully turned.”
She closed her eyes and leaned forward a bit, still touching the demon. He didn’t move one bit and even placed his hands over hers. The young woman’s throat was burning and it felt like her whole chest was on fire. Mammon looked down and saw how the black substance was spreading in thin lines through the girl’s veins. “Let it pass through you, don’t fight it love” he encouraged her and turned Y/N towards the mirror. She slowly opened her eyes and they looked muddy and unfocused.
The King lifted his hand and as if he was in trance with a single motion he smudged the mark on Y/N’s lips even more, pressing himself harder to her back. The vision was so captivating that the demon couldn’t stop.
Tears were glistening in the corners of the girl’s eyes, threatening to spill out any moment. “I feel like…” she chocked on air. “Like I’m dying. What is going on? How much longer is it going to take?”
Back in the real world Trophonius was kneeling in front of Y/N who was breathing heavily, sweat was covering every inch of skin and the hair was sticking to her face. King Mammon was on the verge of losing his mind yet again but then the marking began appearing and he realized - she’s turning into one of them.
Oh the joy…
With trembling hands Y/N leaned on the counter. The black liquid was reaching the tip of her fingers now, it was scary to look at it. On top of that shiny transparent scales began appearing on her cheeks and coming down her neck. The girl’s eyes turned transparent too, the blood vessels were visible under her new “skin”. This was the form she was going to take when shifting. The King found the new Y/N extremely beautiful and unique - he has never seen a demon with a transparent alternative form. The raw excitement triggered his change too…
After one whole agonizing hour the whole ordeal was over and the young woman collapsed on the ground completely drained and breathless.
“Congratulations Y/N” the Oracle spoke quietly “Weclome to your new life.”
Mammon was hovering over her, holding a glass of water in hand. “Hey princess, you did well” the velvet-like voice caressed the girl’s ears and she lowered her eyelids, basking in the pleasant sound. The blurry vision and vertigo were messing with her head but the demon was her anchor and Y/N was thankful for that. “Let’s take you to lie down comfortably. You should rest.”
Once in the bedroom, Jungkook continued talking to the young woman who was already drifting in and out of consciousness. “This was the most beautiful transformation I have ever seen. You will be great.” She only smiled weakly. “Now I can make you my queen for real…”

Apparently someone has reported a chapter of my fanfiction for mature sexual themes/content. I'm really curious about all of you who read those but still decide to report it, why are you even reading those if you don't like them? Like... The platform is filled with so much more hardcore fanfictions with so many celebrities and you decide to report one chapter for containing some "making out and grinding" of a small creator like me with 50 followers... Thank you very much for proving me right once again about how hypocritical everything is. It's your right to not like some of the content on the platforms but why do you have to report and do nasty things? ...

Whoa you guys! 😧😧
So many people voted and in the end things are tied for Y/N's transformation!! 😧 It's between demon and Spark... What should we do now...?
I will probably finish the new chapter tonight or tomorrow so you need to decide 👀🤭
Hello everyone!
The link you see here is connected to the fanfiction I’m writing now “Those Evil Ways”. This is a form I created to decide what Y/N will become from this point on as a being (demon, Spark or Dim Light) and whether you would like the story to have a Bad or a Good Ending. I have given more details in the description of the questionnaire.
There’s also an option to fill in your Tumblr blog name if you want to be added to the Tag List of “Those Evil Ways”.

Please, enjoy! <3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few weeks later the situation had gotten even worse. The Kings had decided it was best for them to return to their lands and reflect on what each one did, while Jin and Yoongi stayed behind in the capital in one of the residences so they can continue working on the battle plans with Taehyung.
What happened to Y/N you ask?
That… was a touchy subject for each of the seven men. At first, the three of them who got into a fight initially were ready to rip Hoseok apart but in the end, managed to keep their anger at bay. A new issue had risen and required to be dealt with with caution.
“Wake up, Y/N, please” Yoongi was repeating this sentence over and over again but she remained unconscious in his hands. He felt empty and weak. Looking up he searched for Jin’s eyes and when their gazes met the Master was stunned. He saw so much pain in the face of his closest man.
“Let’s take her to the mansion.” Agares said to Baal but hearing that King Mammon stood up.
With a stern expression, he shook his head. “Not gonna happen. I’m taking Y/N to the North.”
“Really?” Yoongi snapped at him. “After everything you’ve done…”
“What I’ve done? You and Agares are the main reason for this shit and all that Y/N’s been through” the usual calm self of the King disappeared again. Rage was still coursing through his veins, making Jungkook’s blood boil.
“Enough of that” Noir who was quiet until now intervened. All of that was completely pointless and if the feud would continue at this point, in their state of mind it would lead to nowhere. “I’m making the decisions now because apparently, none of you are capable from what I’m seeing.” The disappointment was noticeable in Namjoon’s voice.
He walked over to the table and lifted one of the fallen chairs and sat on it with his legs crossed. “I see now why we were so drawn to her, some more, some less but that doesn’t matter now. The causes for this girl’s presence don’t matter anymore too, it’s a fact - Y/N’s here with us and we all know what kind of being she is.”
Hoseok’s jaw tightened while listening to their Leader. The feeling of betrayal was still so strong and it was clouding the demon’s mind. “What’s the point of those words?” He hissed, leaning with spread arms over the table.
“My point - she’d been thrown into this mess without her consent and knowledge of the whole situation.” While saying this Corson’s eyes moved to Jin and Yoongi who were standing side by side. They visibly retreated into themselves but maintained eye contact with the King. “If Agares had let go of his grudges like I did decades ago and came to talk it out, Y/N might still be alive and well with her friends back in the human world - blissfully oblivious to all this here, without any schemes or intrigues.”
“She’s alive” Jungkook stated flatly but King Noir shot him a warning glare.
“We might be demons and according to the humans that’s the synonym of “evil” but I believe we’re more than that.” Namjoon got quiet looking around the room at the other six men. At that moment Taehyung who was awfully quiet spoke up.
“It’s not my place to rub salt in the wound but this affair has gone too out of hand. I have spent enough time with Y/N to know that she was innocent and pretty much unaware of all of this. At first, I was opposed to being involved but from what I know now there wasn’t even a slight chance of me not getting in the middle of it somehow. Mind you it was my choice in the end so I’m not blaming anyone.” The General somehow felt responsible for the young woman too. “We are intelligent creatures, that’s why each one of us has such a high position in this society.” He got closer to King Alastor and placed a hand on his shoulder reassuringly. “The first time a crisis occurred I don’t think we gave our best to avert it and we just let resentment and fury take over which was not right. That’s the main reason why we’re here now at each other's throats. This is not right…” Gaap closed his eyes in frustration. The demon wanted all this to be finally over. “We were what the humans call “friends” and now everything has crumbled to the ground and I’m still hoping there’s some way to fix it.”
“Tch…” Hoseok snorted “friends? Friends don’t choose a-” but at that second Jimin’s open hand shot up in a warning for him to stop. “Whatever.” The King of the East then said, thrown off.
“So I was saying that if we let go of our rage maybe could come together once more. Maybe Y/N is the key to make this possible.”
Agares smiled mockingly in the General’s direction. “You really think we can do that? Don’t make me laugh.”
“I’m not” Gaap replied with a serious face. “A war is approaching, a half-dead girl is laying on the ground and we’re further apart than ever before. This is not a joke or a way to mock any of you…”
“Taehyung is right,” Namjoon said backing him up. “I think it’s best for all of us to return to our regions and reflect. Think about what happened and once you reach a decision on what you want to do next return to the capital, then send a letter to the other six. Once everyone has reached a final decision we will gather here in the palace to discuss what would be the best course of action.” Then the King of the West laced his fingers together waiting for the others to say what they think about his offer. Slowly the demons nodded one by one without a word. “If someone wants to say something, anything, now it’s the time.”
“What about Y/N?” King Mammon asked with a pleading look, hoping for Noir to take the hint. The other man stared at the unconscious girl and then turned to Jungkook.
“Get her to the North. It’s dangerous for her to stay here since apparently someone is after her.”
The moment Baal opened his mouth to express his displeasure with this decision Namjoon shook his head. “It’s final. Doordale is too open. She’s helpless and given the fact that we will be far away, it’s better if Jungkook takes care of her for now. He is the best with making someone disappear and the guards there are top-notch.”
“Thank you Noir” Jungkook flashed him a smile but then felt the air getting thicker. Afraid to cause another misunderstanding he turned to Baal and Agares. “Hey! I didn’t mean to gloat don’t get me wrong. If she wakes up you will be the first to know. It’s not my intention to keep Y/N away from either of you.”
Yoongi visibly relaxed while Jin remained on edge. “You better.” The taller demon seethed through clenched teeth. “If something happens to her your head will roll, mark my words.”
“Come on, let’s get back.” Baal urged the Master to the door.
The other demons began shifting slowly and getting ready to leave. Jungkook approached Y/N who was still out of it, breathing ever so slightly. Her face was pale and the lips - dry. “I will take care of you” the demon whispered and pushed his hands under the young woman’s body, lifting her up with ease. Jimin then stepped in front of him, preventing Mammon from leaving.
“Wanna go some of the way together - to the Big Crossroad?”
The tattooed demon just nodded curtly.
The carriages were going together with guards riding at the front and at the back, but the two Kings were together in Mammon’s carriage.
There was still some time until they reached the place where they would go their separate ways. Both men were quiet with Y/N sleeping in Jungkook’s arms. He was mindlessly stroking the girl’s hair.
“I never meant for this to blow so out of proportion,” Aamon said quietly, never taking his eyes off the other two. You could say that he almost regretted his actions…
“Me neither. To be honest, I’ve had so many dreams of the seven of us fixing our problems and coming together as brothers but I’m too engrossed in doing my own things and enjoying celebration after celebration. The Ministers never stopped sending women and gifts… I’m too greedy.” The tattooed demon smiled bitterly. The irony - calling himself greedy.
“We’re bearers of great sins, we are born from that. I’m not going to sit here and wine about the things I’ve done” those words made Jungkook uncomfortable. It sounded like his companion didn’t want to change a thing. “Look, don’t get me wrong, I know I’ve fucked things up just as much as any of us did but you know what they say - there’s no use crying over spilled milk.”
Jimin’s eyes landed on Y/N’s pale face. “We are Kings and must only look forward. I will go back to the South and figure a way how to work things out with Hoseok.”
“What about Agares and Baal?”
“Baal will come around and as for Agares…” he sighed heavily. “He’s bottled too much hate and is still living in the past. It will take time.”
The other demon laughed lightly. It was funny how much faith Jimin had in the rest. Maybe this was not all bad though… Maybe he should do the same?
“What about her?” the silver-haired man asked softly, his demeanor and facial expression changing instantly. His biggest fear was that Y/N would choose someone else but not him which was very likely given what had happened up until this point. The young woman was nothing like them - a Spark and a demon with human behavioral patterns, so peculiar. At times she seemed incredibly confused and lost around the seven men. “It was entertaining how Y/N was struggling with herself when we were coming strong onto her.”
“Most humans are monogamous.” King Mammon stated matter-of-factly, with no emotion.
“I know, I know but her two selves were constantly fighting. Y/N’s strong since she managed to keep those primal instincts at bay.” Jimin was musing mostly to himself.
The taller demon had so many things he wanted to tell the man sitting in front of him but said only one wishful sentence. “I hope she decides to stay and stick with us.”
“Meaning?” Jimin lifted a brow not understanding where this was going.
“The Spark. It’s dangerous for her, while if Y/N chooses her demonic side… can you…” Mammon got excited and his eyes became glossy and shiny. He tightened his arms around the girl, then continued speaking in this overly excited manner. “Can you imagine how strong she would be? You saw the markings - the power of speech, this hasn’t happened in centuries.”
The maniacal look on the black-haired demon’s face worried King Aamon. “Jungkook…” he leaned forward placing a hand on Mammon’s knee. “It’s up to her. You have to ensure Y/N is safe and taken care of for now. When she comes to it will be entirely up to her. Don’t do this because it will push her away and force an unpleasant outcome.”
“My King, we are at the Big Crossroad.” The Coachman informed Jimin while tapping on the roof of the carriage. Aamon nodded and straightened up.
“Very well. I will be out in a minute.” With that, he focused on his companion once more. “Please don’t coerce or pressure her if she wakes up.”
“She will. No “if”s.” Jungkook snapped back.
The other man smiled. “You have my complete trust and I’m glad that Corson entrusted Y/N to you.”
The King of the North rolled his eyes playfully. “Don’t fuck with me. I know how much you want to be in my place.”
They said their goodbyes and Aamon reached for the door handle but then turned back. A longing look took over his doll-like features. In a swift motion, then he bent over and placed a gentle hand on the girl’s cheek then planted a kiss on her forehead. It felt like the time had stopped. Jimin remained like this for a few seconds basking in the feeling while Jungkook sat completely still. “We will see each other soon princess.”
After that, he left and Mammon continued on his way with the young woman pressed to his chest.
“Mom?” Y/N woke up when the door opened.
“Hey, baby.” The woman looked anxious. It was a rare sight to see.
“What’s happening? Why’re you looking at me like this?”
Turning around in the bed the girl saw a bright light coming from the windows. The decoration in the room was from her childhood days with all the stuffed toys and books spread over the floor.
“Y/N, baby, we don’t have much time. Listen to me” her mother sat on the edge of the bed and took the girl’s little hands in hers. “It’s important to stay true to yourself and not lose track of the right path. Important decisions have to be made in due time.”
Flashes of some scary dreams appeared in Y/N’s mind - seven tall figures looming over her tiny body with hands outstretched coming closer and closer. “Mommy I’m scared” she whimpered, pulling on the woman’s shirt.
“I’m right here, don’t be.” The two hugged each other tightly and stayed like that for a few minutes. “Now, do you want to hear a story?”
Y/N nodded, her eyes still filled with tears. “Once upon a time there lived a princess in a kingdom far away from here. Her parents were extremely busy and were always leaving her alone to deal with whatever problem arose. When the princess got older her mom and dad told her that she should help them with ruling the Kingdom but this required her to become a fearless warrior.” Y/N exclaimed in surprise.
“But… mom, aren’t the princesses supposed to be pretty and get married to a nice prince?”
Her mom laughed wholeheartedly and ruffled the girl’s hair. “You know your fairytales very well.” Then she got serious once again. “This princess was not like the others, her life was harder but also very rewarding. One day on the battlefield she saved a wounded man and took good care of him and since the woman was so nice to him he fell in love with her. The princess was afraid to admit she had developed feelings for him too so she left the next night.”
“But that’s sad…” Y/N sniffled.
“It is but then something unthinkable happened. One day while the girl was taking a walk around the city the same man approached her. He had traveled the world to find her and in the end, his efforts were granted with success. Then and there the young woman promised to never leave his side no matter what. It turned out that he was a magical being with great power but the princess’ parents were mad at her for choosing him. That’s why the two ran away and hid from everyone. They had a beautiful baby girl but bad people found out and came looking for them. The parents were left with no choice but to run again. In the end the best choice was to give their child to a nice woman who kindly offered shelter for the baby. The kid grew up to be sweet and caring just like her parents, even though she didn’t have any recollection of them ever existing.”
“But mom why did they leave their child if they loved it so much?”
“Because she was in danger and they would never be able to forgive themselves if something bad would happen to their daughter. In the end, her parents were separated and they never saw each other again.”
Y/N’s lower lip trembled. “That’s a sad story mommy.”
“I know love but this story is my gift for you. Once you grow up you will understand everything.”
The days were passing monotonously. Things stayed the same, Jungkook woke up each morning and checked the reports from the previous night. Nothing was happening, as if the Queen was dormant, waiting for something specific to occur. After that, he was spending the day staying in Y/N’s room reading a book to her or drawing her sleeping face over and over again. She was being washed and dressed every day by the two maids who were by her side the first time when she came here.
“I miss your voice so much. Don’t leave me” he whispered. “I’ve heard Monica say you will love me one day and I will wait. I will wait for your loving one day…” He pressed his forehead to the soft mattress and closed his eyes. “Please wake up Y/N.”
Mammon felt pathetic for saying those things over and over again but he couldn’t help it. Guilt was eating away at the demon for all the times he used her for his and the other’s entertainment. Jungkook was fixated on making it right by her once the girl has woken up. Each time he closed his eyes the only thing he saw were Y/N’s sad eyes, the scared look after the markings appeared, King Alastor squeezing her neck, and how she was struggling in the King’s tight grip. All this was unforgivable indeed but she was always so good and the demon hoped that somewhere in her heart Y/N will find absolution and would be ready to accept his apology.
Let me say just this - sometimes some things are too hard or even impossible to forget but the key is to be able to forgive. Sometimes letting go of old grudges and focusing on what’s to come is the best option so you don’t lose yourself in all the anger and sorrow.
Jungkook was ready to climb a mountain if that was needed to prove he meant each word.
Almost three weeks went by. Jin and Yoongi were occasionally seeing each other in the mansion and even then they didn’t say much. The two men had buried themselves in old tomes looking for a way to wake Y/N up.
None of them had said a thing about what transpired in the central palace. Agares was still bitter and he felt defeated. Why?
Well, that’s because Jungkook had taken Y/N away after Namjoon gave his final ruling. After the Master had returned home the same day he had let his rage run free until Yoongi came back to the residence.
“Stop this shit.” The emotionless voice made Jin stop and turn around. The room was in disarray, broken chairs and pieces of glass and porcelain were scattered everywhere. “Do you think I’m happy that she’s gone?”
“It’s all because of them four. No! Hoseok! He’s the one to blame-”
Baal’s teeth clicked in frustration. “Don’t do that. Things will continue to go downhill until you cut this shit off. Use your brain Jin!” His voice became louder than before and the Master’s eyes narrowed.
“Mind your tone and words” he warned but the shorter demon didn’t care one bit.
“You can’t intimidate me. She’s gone now and we might never see her again so forgive me if I’m not ready to deal with your childish behavior yet.”
Agares gritted his teeth angrily but instead of deepening the confrontation, he kept quiet.
“We should fix things with King Alastor and also look for a way to bring Y/N back.”
Throwing his head back, Jin began laughing crazily. The loud sound tore the air around the two and echoed for a few seconds after the demon had stopped. “Whoa, you really know how to entertain me.” His face got serious. “There is no way in Hell I would go back to this bastard and talk with him. His selfishness got us here.”
The other man shook his head. “No Jin, all of us. We got ourselves in the middle of that shitstorm and we should find a way out of it.” Turning around to the door Yoongi stopped with his hand on the handle. “Think about it and you will see this is the best course of action. We should find a way back to each other because you remember - long ago we were inseparable.”
Looking at them you might wonder how the two demons haven’t killed each other - they were the exact opposites character-wise and yet - to see or hear a fight or dispute between them was an extremely rare occurrence. The sole reason for this was only one - Yoongi was the quiet and calm part in this friendship and then there was Jin - rowdy and loud with a short temper. You know how it goes - opposites attract.
“What about Y/N then?” Agares asked hurriedly before the other man left.
“I will send a letter to Trophonius. During the time we spent there with her the Oracle took a liking to the girl and once he knows the details of the issue at hand maybe he will be kind enough to come and help us.”
It was amazing how when it came to Y/N most of the seven men were thinking as one and were trying to make her stay in the Scarlet Land as pleasant as possible. If we… could call it that.
King Alastor was plagued by unwelcomed memories of the past. It was an absolute hell - each time he closed his eyes the demon was seeing scenes of the previous war, the day the seven demons fell apart, ugly disfigured faces of the enemies he had fought and the one that always made Hoseok wake up covered in sweat - Y/N, pale, struggling in his iron grip, tight around her neck and the next scene was her on the ground - lifeless. Then this was followed by the other six standing at her side looking at the King with resentment for what he had done.
“She’s not dead!” He was shouting in the dream but they didn’t care one bit and just continued to look at him, unmoving and silent.
This went on for a week or so. All the alcohol couldn’t drown the uneasy feeling and bitterness.
Then the second week came. The servants were quiet and extremely careful not to trigger the King in any way. Eternal life could be too much to handle if each day passed like that - buried in heavy, burdensome thoughts and reliving the worst moments. Hoseok began thinking that it was a punishment from some god-like being for going once more against his closest people and for getting consumed by hatred that he thought to be just.
When the third week began things slowly started to settle down and after long hours of thinking back on what had happened Hoseok concluded that he had jumped to conclusions too fast. After all, even Namjoon who was calculating and incredulous decided to grant Y/N the benefit of the doubt.
“I should talk to him…” he muttered while a maid was pouring him coffee.
“Excuse me Your Highness?” she turned to him with an apologetic look. “I didn’t hear You well.”
Alastor slowly lifted his head to look at the succubus. Her eyes widened in horror and she bowed and then immediately began apologizing and begging for forgiveness. He sighed in frustration - none of them had done anything to upset him and yet each sound that reached his ears or if a movement was a bit too wide or uncoordinated the King grew frustrated and angry at the staff. “Leave me be” Alastor waved dismissively at the maid and sent her away.
By the end of the third week, the King of the East had made arrangements to visit Noir in the West. It was easy to talk to him. The other demon was a good listener, always has been and especially if the person before him was close to him somehow. Hoseok hoped that Namjoon would be ready to hear him out after what had happened not so long ago.
The West had a different atmosphere about it even though the region was part of the kingdom of Doordale. All kinds of important people had a residence there - the demons from the ministry, fauns and ghouls who were members of the royal council and so on. The region was like the Orange county of the empire - you could wander all day long looking at the architectural wonders which were their homes. There was only one reason why they were choosing to live here - to be away from prying eyes.
"Greetings my King" the men standing guard by the massive double doors saluted Hoseok when he approached with his entourage. "King Corson is expecting You." They opened the doors to let him in. As per usual the members of the staff bowed to the demon. A butler accompanied by two other guards appeared inviting Alastor to walk with them so they could take him to Namjoon.
The Royal Protocol seemed demanding to someone who was taking a first look at it but in time it was turning out to be quite easy to get accustomed to. The key to it all - perfect coordination with others.
"Welcome!" Namjoon stood up from his chair and handed the book he was reading to one of the servants. "I was surprised when the messenger boy brought me the letter. I presume you want to talk?" There was a whiff of a good-hearted jest in Noir's voice.
"Oh no, I just came for the tea" the other King laughed lightly and they clasped each other's hands tightly as a greeting.
"Good" Namjoon became serious for a second and then smiled widely, his dimples appearing immediately "because I have none."
If he had to be honest King Corson would never say he didn’t expect Alastor to come. The subjects of the kingdom knew Noir to keep away from familiarities and empty pleasantries with the higher-ups, his calculating look that he had on constantly usually managed to intimidate everyone but it was for a reason. Who would look at him and take the demon seriously if he was an airhead who cared only about small talk and pretentious meetings? Exactly - no one. This behavior was what has gotten Namjoon this far, it was the reason why he has established himself as a leader of some sorts.
“Let me be clear - I won’t pressure you into taking a side” Hoseok said while twirling one of the strings dangling from his dress shirt between his fingers. “I just want to tell you how I feel about the whole thing. I’ve been closest to you all those centuries for a reason.”
Namjoon just nodded, suppressing the urge to ask him all sorts of questions.
“I don’t like her or… let’s say I don’t trust her. I don’t know this woman and after what came to light about her identity I didn’t see a reason to even try.” The King knew the legends very well and could recite every story he had heard of the Spark.
“Why?” tilting his head to the side Noir rubbed his chin, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
“Well, it’s not like I have something against Y/N being a Spark or her being a demon. My problem is the combination - you know our kind very well and what we’re capable of, the atrocities.” The other man blinked once with understanding. “I’m not saying that the nation of the Spark was bad or dangerous but I get it now why they were killed off.”
“Really? Tell me” he really wanted to know why Hoseok had been so off about Y/N, apparently, it wasn’t just a pretense.
The King of the East was usually so accepting of other species and gave the people every chance to prove themselves without any bias. Of course, he had a twisted sense of humor and liked to push others to their limits but this was a different matter. “Imagine what would’ve happened if the Sparks began mating with us or the ghouls or even worse - the therianthropes.” Alastor huffed in frustration, the skin under his eyes wrinkled when he grimaced in disgust. Namjoon smirked, it was amusing how expressive the other King was. “You know how everyone used to say that the worst that could happen to the Scarlet Land was if the Spark turned dark.”
“Mmh. I’ve heard of this… what was it called…?”
“Dim Glow. That’s what my brother and father used to call the phenomenon of them turning rogue and forsaking the Light.”
It was a sad story. The nation of the Spark was never meant to live in a dark and rotten place like the Scarlet Land, but being feared and shunned by everyone they had ended up there, which had led to their inevitable demise. Let’s say that as a whole the supernatural beings were divided as ones of the “Light” and those of “the Darkness”. The primordial rule was to never mix the two in any way, especially if it came down to procreation because the results might turn out disastrous. The power those beings possess was said to be greater than that of a god. “So imagine if this girl turned out like this! She could tear everything around us down if the essence of the two sides mix - Y/N will be-”
“Uncontrollable. Unstoppable…” King Noir finished the sentence and he and Hoseok shared a look. “But that’s what Jungkook and Yoongi were trying to prevent recently. Baal and Agares had figured out things long before we did while Mammon was doing it out of selfish desires but all of them were helping Y/N stick to only one side.”
“I see that now, yes.” The other man’s eyes lowered with guilt. “I regret messing up the things between the four of us.”
One very specific arrogant look of Corson’s appeared and the other demon knew it was there without even seeing it. “You should. Also, keep in mind that what Y/N did was induced by our behavior - because of Aamon, Agares and Mammon throwing her around, because us three with Taehyung  had been suspicious and treating the girl as some lowly tool in order to achieve one’s goal, lower than the cheap whores roaming the streets, also you - becoming aggressive… all of those things led to this outcome.”
“I have to find a way to fix “us” if that’s even possible.”
Hoseok leaned back in his chair and covered his face with a hand. He has never been rash or that impulsive, maybe the pressure recently had reached a new high or maybe he was losing his touch…
I guess you all know the story of Sleeping Beauty. Y/N was now in a similar situation but the difference was that she was fighting to stay afloat and alive in her mind.
All the nightmares and terrors that were appearing in her head prevented her from waking up. I can’t even count how many times she saw her mother who was trying to influence the girl to give up and go with her. Where? Oh, I don't know exactly… so many times Y/N thought of following her but then decided against it saying "I have to wait for someone, I don't know who but they are coming to get me." Then the Kings and the other demons would appear taunting her or whispering sweet nothings, coercing Y/N to give her body to the pleasure they were offering. Another time scary creatures chased her around a dark forest and in the end she always ended up falling from a cliff.
“Hey baby” Y/N’s mother entered the room again. She had her hair tied in a tight bun which meant that the woman had just returned from the office. “Wanna talk?” Something felt off this time.
The young woman nodded and left the thick textbook on the bed. “Sure mom. What do you wanna talk about?” Back in the days it was not an unusual thing for them to share a moment like this, just the two, discussing something important but now Y/N felt weird and out of place. She couldn’t think of a topic or a problem that needed their attention at the moment.
The mother looked down at the textbook - “Internal medicine”. After a long pause she sighed as if the whole world was weighing down on her shoulders. “Why did you decide to study this? It’s so hard for you mentally and physically - you barely sleep these days or eat properly.”
“Mom…” Y/N rubbed her temples trying not to get agitated. This conversation has always been the worst, since the first day the girl announced she had planned on enrolling in the medical university. Mrs. Y/L/N had tried her best to dissuade her daughter from doing this but to no avail. “You know very well why. Moreover, it’s my last year. I enjoy every part of this - the help I can provide, giving hope to people, the efforts to lessen the struggles of others - it’s all incredibly rewarding.”
Her mother shook her head in disappointment and looked Y/N dead in the eye. The color of their pupils was exactly the same, and the face shapes too. A random thought crossed the girl’s mind unexpectedly “How could she not be my mom?” But why did she think of that? “Am I forgetting something…?”
“Don’t be a child. This crippling fear that’s been plaguing your mind since you were five? That has nothing to do with choosing this profession?” Her voice became unrecognizable, laced with menace. It also had this unpleasant sound as if the woman’s mouth was filled with unswallowed saliva.
“You know I don’t talk about that. Not anymore,” Y/N said through clenched teeth.
“That? This-“
“No mom. Stop it.” Panic began rising in her chest.
Mrs. Y/L/N had this sad expression on her face now. “The fear of death is common in many people, baby.”
Shaking her head Y/N tried to get rid of these thoughts just like before but it didn’t work now. Anxiety and desperation got her in a tight chokehold and she began breathing heavily.
“Seeing and reading about all the possible causes for someone’s death is tiring. Do you see the darkness sometimes? Do you think about it?” The girl was now shaking uncontrollably, sobbing and whimpering. She hadn’t had a panic attack in so long. “You want to become a medical geneticist or no… what was it? Genetic engineer so you can find the key to eternal life right?” Her mother took Y/N’s hands in hers and continued speaking. “You know if you let me take you away I will show you only light and there won’t be a need to ever think of that again.”
Holding on for dear life her daughter tried speaking. “M-m-mom… I’m… I-I…”
“Shhh… don’t be scared.”
“Master!” Monica ran inside the office screaming her lungs out. “Please! Come quick!”
Jungkook knew that this behavior meant only two things - either Y/N has woken up or was dying. Jumping to his feet the demon ran through the hallways.
When he entered the girl’s room he saw her in a terrible state - her body shaking from tremors with different intensity, sweat covering her face and neck, tears streaming down. The most unbearable thing was the quiet wailing reaching the King’s ears. “What’s wrong with her?!” He roared while crossing the room to sit on the bed next to Y/N.
“I-I…” the maid stuttered. “I was sitting on the chair watching her Ladyship and then it just happened out of nowhere.”
Jungkook hasn’t done this in so long but now was the perfect time for it. Closing his eyes the man emptied his mind completely. He pictured Yoongi’s face and a thin red loose string appeared, connecting the two demons. That was the telepathic bond the seven of them were sharing. “Yoongi are you listening?” Mammon said. A few seconds passed and then he continued, his voice turning frantic. “Y/N’s not well. Something is happening and I need you to come. Use the Wishing well and…”
The maid stayed on the side, crying. She liked the young woman so much and was so grateful for all the good things Y/N had said to her and for the nice attitude. The first time she felt like a human being was when the girl came to the palace and treated Monica as a friend and not as some lowlife. “Please save her, Your Highness…” the maid sobbed quietly.
A few minutes went by and the wooden door flew open. Baal came in tow with the man from Christopher’s memories - the Leader of the Oracles. The white-haired man didn’t say a word, just approached and bent down to touch Y/N’s forehead with his. Her body continued spasming in uneven intervals.
After a while the Oracle straightened up and looked at Jungkook with a grim expression. “She’s dying.”
“NO!” Both Mammon and Baal shouted simultaneously. The King’s black hair was in disarray, his cold eyes were filled with sadness and fear now and his hands were trembling from the adrenaline rush.
“Save her!” Yoongi got closer to them. He was obliged to find a way to keep Y/N alive at all costs, there was so much more to tell her and do together. The demon had plans to return with the girl to her world and clean up his wrongdoings but this…
The white-haired man nodded with a reserved expression. “Keep in mind that this might not work but since we don’t have another option…”
“Say it.” Jungkook ordered harshly, his eyes burning with determination.
“The thing is that whatever is killing Y/N is in her mind. Probably her own thoughts and since she’s been in this state for a while exhaustion is taking a toll on her. I need to channel some of your life essence into her.”
“Done” Jungkook and Yoongi both stepped forward as one but the Oracle shook his head.
“Only one thing is stopping me from doing this.”
Baal’s jaw tightened. “Those two sides of her.”
“Exactly. She might become a demon…”
“I don’t care! Do you want Y/N to…” The King was unable to say it. This was the first time in his centuries-long life he felt so desperate and lost. The woman was so precious to him and just thinking about losing her caused the demon immense pain - both physical and mental. He… loved Y/N and would give his own life to save hers. “Do it!” Jungkook grabbed the Oracle by the shoulders with gloved hands.
The other man blinked once, agreeing silently. “I will sit here and make sure to establish a bond with her. You must place a hand on my forehead and let down all the defenses so I can channel your essence into her.” The man then turned to Yoongi with a stern expression. “Keep a close watch on him. He mustn’t break physical contact with me.” Baal just stared unblinkingly.
“Come on baby, let me help you” her mother went on and on.
When Y/N was younger and an episode like this happened it was common after that for the girl to regress for different periods of time. That’s why her mom was always staying by Y/N’s side helping her recover. Why regressing? The girl’s mind was always so exhausted due to the stress caused by those intrusive thoughts. During and after an event of that sorts the regression became a coping mechanism so the brain could recover. In the past, the panic attacks used to happen almost every other day and the psychiatrist that Y/N was seeing at that time, had explained that it was a way to deal with the stress - reverting back to the stress-free, burdenless life of an infant or a child.
Y/N continued seeing the doctor for years up until her fifteenth birthday. Then looking at the cake the girl decided that the best decision was to become a doctor. The psychiatrist had advised her to find a way to deal permanently with the fear without the help of pills and other drugs. At some point the mentioning of the medical profession put Y/N on the way to healing.
“You’re strong enough to deal with this. Of course this is not a panacea, there might be times when you will get triggered by something, given the fact that being a doctor means seeing death a lot. You should have a grounding object or something of the sorts. You can always count on me and come for sessions. We’ve ruled out all of the underlying mental disorders so there’s nothing to worry about. This is just a coping mechanism for worries about the impact of aging.”
Once the girl started preparing for the entrance exams things began changing slowly. The panic attacks got rarer and rarer and those intrusive thoughts bothered her less and less with time. It all came from the fact that Y/N was working in the direction to find a way to be alive forever. A childish goal in the other’s eyes but the strongest driving force for her to stay afloat.
And now…
This uncooperative mind of hers was trying to “persuade” the young woman to let go and thus the attack happened.
At some point during the whole ordeal Yoongi began doubting if this was working at all - Y/N was still convulsing and whimpering. Jungkook on the other hand looked horrible - he was pale, breathing heavily and gritting his teeth.
“She’s so strong, there’re so many walls, metaphorically speaking, in her mind. I can’t break them down.” Trophonius murmured with his eyes closed.
“Just… figure it out” Yoongi hissed angrily. “I can feel her becoming weaker.”
The minutes were passing and nothing was happening…
At some point the King felt weak in the knees but did his best to resist the fatigue. Baal saw that and cautiously made a step towards him.
“I’m fine” Mammon spat out, still looking intently at Y/N’s face. “I don’t need your help!” So stubborn and unwilling to accept assistance from anyone.
More time went by but at one certain moment something felt like breaking. The air in the room turned static and Trophonius opened his eyes suddenly. “That’s it! Keep going!” Those words were aimed at Jungkook.
In the chests of both demons their hearts skipped a beat. Yoongi expected to see Mammon transforming but apparently the low energy level had the last say now. It was a well-known fact that in the process of shifting a lot of energy was required and now Jungkook had exhausted most of it.
“Y/N, look at me” her mom tried getting the girl’s attention but it was no use.
Y/N was crying unstoppably, the screams now resembled those of physical pain. She felt so helpless and bare. There’s no way she could die. Her mom would never be so mean to trigger her on purpose and then not even try to help her get over the episode.
“I-It… hurt-t-ts” the young woman cried pathetically. “I can-n’t” a new agonizing moan ripped through the air.
There was a knock at the door and both women cast their eyes in the direction of the sound.
“Yoongi hold him” Trophonius groaned in displeasure. “If he lets go all would have been for nothing.”
Without a second thought the other demon appeared behind the King and pressed himself to the other’s back. At that moment a nice thought dawned on him - Baal reached forward and placed his hand over Jungkook’s and the other around his chest for support.
“Whoa! I didn’t expect your spirit to be so strong” the Oracle exclaimed. It was a good decision to use the two of them but the downside would have been that both of their energy supply could run out just as fast so Trophonius needed a backup. “You are the sin of Sloth and yet this is… incredible!”
Then the white-haired man felt it - the last “wall” falling down.
Jungkook saw it first - the door in the darkness. Screams were coming from behind it and this bothered the demon to another extent. He began walking towards it but then Yoongi materialized too.
“What’s that?” Baal asked confused.
“Must be Y/N’s mind space. Let’s go, I don’t like this.”
The two approached the door and Jungkook knocked twice. It was best not to scare Y/N even more considering the state she was in back in the real world. After a second he opened the door and what they saw stunned them. This disgusting deformed apparition sat next to their pretty girl with tentacle-like appendages wrapped around different parts of Y/N’s body.
From her perspective, though this seemed different - it was still her mother and everything was completely normal.
Of course, the two demons looked exactly like themselves but the young woman couldn’t remember who they were. Looking at the men she began crying again. “I-I don’ wan-n-nt to…”
Baal crossed the room and grabbed the ghost-like creature. It screeched and another outgrowth shot out from its body wrapping around the demon’s neck. The King ran forward while the other two were struggling and grabbed Y/N who was still under the apparition’s influence. The tentacles were wrapped so tightly around her that even Jungkook with his strength couldn’t get the girl out. “Rip its head off!” the tattooed demon roared.
Yoongi didn’t answer back. He was still struggling with overpowering the creature. Seeing no other way around it Mammon began transforming partially and he dug his sharpened teeth into the black matter keeping Y/N under. No blood came out, nor did any tissue got ripped - of course this was a thought. Y/N’s thought that they couldn’t kill.
“Talk to her!” Yoongi urged Jungkook to try a different approach.
The King then knelt near the bed and grabbed the girl’s hand. “Hey princess. It’s me, do you remember me?”
Y/N’s eyes widened in horror, she knew this face from another nightmare of hers. He was bad and mean, this man was not good and the girl wasn’t supposed to go with him anywhere. She shook her head frantically. “Pl-please d-d-don’t hur’ me!”
Those words stung badly. The demon winced and balled his fists. “What has this thing done to you?” Jungkook didn’t know what to say. He was lost.
Yoongi was still trying to fight the apparition but nothing physical could make it budge. Everytime he tried punching, squeezing or kicking it felt like sand was on the other side of his fist. That’s why the only way seemed to be a battle of their minds but he couldn’t do it. It was just an idea of sorts and it didn’t have any brain to produce thoughts of its’ own.
“She has to deal with it” Baal said in the end. “We can’t do shit.” Once he stopped struggling the vision stopped fighting him too. It then turned his attention back to Y/N.
“Who are those people?!” Y/N’s mother was shouting in her face. “Tell them to go and leave us alone!”
The girl just shook her head.
“Hey, princess listen to me.” Jungkook began once again. “It’s me one of the Kings. Remember how you were feeding the birds in the pond in my garden?”
“N-no” Y/N stuttered and got her hands away from the demon’s, pressing them to her chest. “No!”
“Come on” the tattooed man smiled pleasantly and his lip ring glistened in the daylight. “The talk we had in the bathroom, the confessions?” From what Mammon knew the way to bring someone back was to remind them of some good moment but… He felt so guilty. There were almost no pleasant memories to speak of - he cause Y/N so much pain he had to atone for. If he was able to cry this was the moment he would do it. Taking a deep breath he placed his hand on the girl’s knee. Her eyes widened and she began trashing around.
“Don’t t-touch m-m-!”
“Hey, hey. Okay I won’t touch you” the demon lifted his hands up in the air. Then Yoongi approached from behind keeping an eye on the creature who was murmuring something inaudible.
“We don’t have much time Jungkook” the shorter demon warned. “Something’s changing.”
So many sounds were overlapping in Y/N’s mind. Her mother was screaming on one side and then there were the two men saying some weird things that made her even more confused. It was impossible to think straight.
“Do you remember how sad you were-”
“That’s not how you do it” Baal cut the other man off. He feared that everything would go from bad to worse.
“Let me be. Y/N you were very sad and lonely that I left you for days during the feast. But do you also recall how glum I was when you decided to leave? That’s because I regretted my decisions then and now even more.” A tremor ripped through Y/N’s body.
“Mommy…” she wept weakly.
“She sees her mother.” Yoongi muttered more to himself. This was proving so much…
“I’m so sorry princess, I’m so sorry. I will never leave you again” those words sounded so genuine that they surprised even Baal. The mint-haired demon felt a pang of jealousy. Why couldn’t he be the one to do this? “Monica is taking care of you for so many days now. She loves you so much, the girl’s saying you’re her closest friend. I adore you for this kind heart of yours, Yoongi here feels the same way.” The King reached up to touch the young woman’s face but one of the tentacles of the apparition wrapped around his hand, stopping the demon. “Let me take you away and help you. I will make sure to eliminate every threat and danger around you, princess.”
“Liar” she sniffled.
“I can prove to you that I’m not. Don’t you want to see the people that long for you?” Y/N shivered and scooted over closer to the creature. Jungkook’s doe eyes got wider with fear.
“Y-you are n-no real…”
“But I am. Want me to prove you wrong? Think back and remember the time when I held you close. There’s something I asked you in the beginning. Do you remember what was it?”
“I don’t want to go” Y/N whispered, not listening to the King. He was becoming desperate.
“Do you remember what I asked you, princess?” he tried once again. “Let me ask one last question - demon shift or human?”
Then the girl got quiet. Everything stood still, the apparition stopped moving, the tentacles froze for a second and their matter stopped shifting too. “D-demon sh-shif’ or h-?”
“Yes.”
“Demon or human…” Y/N was talking to herself, her eyes glued to Mammon’s face. There was something strangely adorable about her disheveled look and those wide curious eyes, looking for an answer. Chewing on her bottom lip now the girl looked at the nightstand. There she saw her first stethoscope. Reaching for it with a trembling hand the creature didn’t try to stop her this time.
Yoongi followed her movement with interest - she wanted to take it. Getting on the other side of Jungkook he took it and handed it to Y/N. When she touched the stethoscope the young woman closed her eyes and her facial features softened. She ran her fingers over the cold shiny metallic parts, trying to steady the ragged breathing. “Demon or human…” Y/N said once more.
“Mmh.” Jungkook hummed. The two men stood in their respective spots, waiting for what was to come next.
“I-it’s you. Kookie…”
At this moment Yoongi visibly relaxed and sighed. The King smiled brightly and the skin around his eyes scrunched cutely. “It’s me and Yoongi. He was as annoying as ever but… helped me so much. Come on.” The demon took Y/N’s hands and kissed them.
“But…” she hesitated for a moment looking at the deformed creature, still seeing her mother with a disappointed angry look on her face. “What about my mom?”
“Thoughts can’t hurt you Y/N” the mint-haired demon tilted his head towards the apparition. “She’s been gone for a while now. You’re safe with us.”
Jungkook then carefully lifted the woman up and walked out the door with the other man following close behind.
“Your Excellency! Excuse my intrusion but the soldiers on the southern border were attacked” one of the first Lieutenants barged into the Solar room of Taehyung’s mansion. The General was snoozing on the soft daybed with a couple of books laying open on the small table next to him.
“So it’s begun.” Gaap rose up quickly and headed for the door. “It’s time to do what I do best.” Taehyung’s eyes flashed dangerously with his sharp mind already in full motion, running laps.
The supreme moment of Y/N returning after weeks of being unconscious brought joy and relief to everyone. The Oracle congratulated the two demons for their hard work which was a miracle by itself. “I will be staying at Agares’ residence so if you need me just tell the King and I will be here.” Those were the last words he said to Y/N before leaving.
Immediately after coming back to the real world, the three men noticed the state she was in - frail and on the verge of another breakdown. All those horrible nightmares and terrors that her mind put the girl through had drained her immensely. Here, now in the waking world, she was still in regression, which was concerning for everyone.
It was heartbreaking to see this strong woman in this state - eyes filled with fear and sadness, with knees bent close to her chest, chewing on her nails and lips. Y/N’s speech was disrupted, sometimes not understandable at all.
“I trust you will take good care of her” there was nothing more important to Yoongi now. He didn’t want to leave but the demon also didn’t want to overstay his welcome.
“There’s no way I would leave her side.”
Soon news about the attack spread all around the empire. The idea of the Kings gathering to sort everything out at the set time and date didn’t become reality.
At that precise moment when the messenger arrived to tell Jungkook the bad news, he was laying in bed with Y/N who was sleeping in his lap. King Mammon had his head pressed to the headboard, eyes half-closed, playing with the girl’s hair and softly scratching and massaging the skin of the scalp just like she had asked him to do.
For the past three days, the demon was working on helping his precious girl recover just like the Oracle had advised him to do.
Only Monica was allowed to enter Y/N’s room and when it was time for a bath Jungkook was leaving in order to respect her privacy. On the first day, the young woman cried like a child when the demon left her side. “I will be back in a while, princess,” he said to her, kissing the back of Y/N’s hand.
Now when the maid entered Mammon noticed the antsy behavior immediately. “What is it?” he asked in a hushed voice.
“My King, there’s a messenger here. Should I send him in?”
The pretty features of Jungkook’s face got distorted. He frowned but tried to contain the bubbling irritation. “Why is he here?”
“I don’t know, he wouldn’t say.”
“Bull… send him in. I can’t come to the main hall now.”
Monica bowed deeply. “I understand.”
When the ghoul entered he stood straight and spoke in a loud exalted tone. “Greetings Your Majesty, King Mammon of the North!” At that point, if Jungkook was a character in some anime he would get this so-called “anger mark” on the side of his forehead. That asshat was so loud and annoying and he would wake Y/N up. Instinctively the King squeezed the girl harder as if trying to protect her from the sounds.
“Speak quietly, you twit. What is it?”
“King Corson of the West sent me to…” the messenger continued speaking the same way and Y/N began shuffling in the King’s arms. “Inform you that there was an attack on the southern border and many soldiers lost their lives fighting.”
Opening her eyes the young woman got startled by the unfamiliar voice. Looking up and squeezing Jungkook’s black cotton shirt alerted the demon. She then hid her face in the crook of his neck, trying to get even closer than before, if that was even possible… “So what? What did he send you here for?”
“King Corson instructed me to tell You that he had spared you for a few days, considering the situation You are in but now it’s time to come to the capital and perform your duties as King of the North.”
It was unfortunate but Jungkook couldn’t sit idly while the others were fighting to protect the Empire. “I will be there in a while.” Mammon said finally and motioned for the ghoul to go away. When that happened the demon ran his fingers through Y/N’s hair and began speaking quietly in the girl’s ear “Princess, I have to leave for a while. Monica will be here with you all the time, all my guards-”
He couldn’t finish his sentence because once she understood where this was going to happen the girl began crying immediately. “No, no! No please… d-don’t leav-ve me” stuttering, Y/N was clutching his shirt in tiny fists.
“I will be back in a few days baby girl” the demon tried reassuring her but it was absolutely useless - the sobbing didn’t stop. “Please, Y/N…” Mammon’s heart was breaking at the sight but he also knew that his brothers needed him.
“Don’t… please don’t leave me! I will die and you will forget about me!” It seemed that what occurred seconds ago now reverted all the progress they had made back to square one. There was no point explaining that if he went to see the others at the capital her safety will be more than ensured.
“Let’s make a deal - I will give you my pretty wristwatch and I promise you that I will be gone for no more than four hours. If I’m late, no matter the reason, I will bring you a bouquet made of golden flowers. Does that work for you?”
A pout appeared on Y/N’s lips and she got quiet. After a long staring contest she extended an arm out waiting for the watch. Smiling at her the King took the accessory off his wrist and placed it in the girl’s hands. Then he bent over to kiss her forehead and left without another word.

“Wait, wait.” Namjoon laughed genuinely entertained, making a stop-like gesture with his hand. “What you want to tell me is that Y/N is in the Land of the Oracles along with Baal?” He just couldn’t wrap his head around it. Noir had advised Jungkook to postpone the meeting by a few hours and tell him first what was happening. The King of the North never lied and he had no reason to do so now, but Corson was taken by surprise by this revelation and felt entertained.
Mammon had refused to share information with only one of them present because he was afraid that the King of the West was going to decide to spare some of the things and present to the others only what he thought was important. Because of that reason, Jungkook had told him only that it concerned Y/N and her going away with Yoongi. It was safe to say that the Western King got offended. “As I see, you believe that I will hide things and deceive the rest so they can follow my lead.”
With two big steps Namjoon came closer to the other man and placed a hand on his shoulder reassuringly. For him, it was unacceptable to try and undermine the efforts of the other three, considering all the things that had transpired over the decades, the hardships and deepening the wound, left after the dispute, that created a rift between the seven demons in his opinion was a crime. All Corson wanted was to keep the Lodge whole and eliminate threats endangering Doordale. “Trust me” he whispered and nodded curtly. “I’ve never let you down and it won’t happen now.”
King Mammon couldn’t believe those words because he knew what the spy was going to show them and he also knew that he had to come clean about Y/N and what she had told him before the feast. He was just as guilty for keeping this secret, and yes - even though the demon and the girl had formed a contract he intentionally had left a loophole in the writing. The King of the North was bound to not speak about what she had told him but it didn’t mean he couldn’t show it in his memories. The fact that the tattooed man kept it for so long defined his guilt. It was just a matter of time before everyone recognize that and Mammon was afraid of how well they would take it.
He knew it was wrong to go by Y/N’s wish to keep quiet but he wanted to have her so badly. Jungkook was sure that this young woman was special and the desire to gain her trust and love was just as important then as it was now. King Mammon knew very well that considering the laws that he created and the others accepted this was treason since it contradicted the Codex.
“The welfare of the Dark Lodge is to come first and it is to be kept that way. If a threat arises that’s endangering the unity it should be eliminated immediately after taking into account each King’s opinion.”
That’s the first and most important rule because after the seven of them fell out, for Jungkook was crucial to keep what was left together, by all means necessary. He couldn’t imagine that he would be the one to break exactly this law, that he himself insisted on putting as a “number one”. But she… for the short period that Y/N was with the demon, he felt so drawn to her that maybe, just this once, he could step out of line. Still, even after Taehyung expressed his suspicions and what Asmodeus had told him, the King of the North trusted Y/N and wanted to make the others do so too.
His only concern now was how to make it happen without being put on the spot and blamed for going against them. Now was the worst possible timing for all of this due to the fact that the bitch Queen was breathing down their necks and an attack could happen at any time.
“Damn it… I hope that Aamon will have my back and Agares won’t begin raging like the last time, after the battle.” Jungkook’s thoughts spiraled out of control and Namjoon felt the change in him. Noir was wondering what exactly had made his friend call an official meeting. Of course, Y/N being with the Oracles was strange enough but it wasn’t such a big deal, and also why Taehyung had to be present was another mystery.
A guard came to inform the two that the Kings, General Gaap and Agares were already here. Namjoon walked through the door first followed by Jungkook and the spy.
A few hours before the meeting
When Lucrious entered Jin rolled his eyes dramatically and leaned his forehead on one hand. He was getting sick of seeing the messenger because he only came when there was some shit happening. Annoyed he exhaled loudly, then asked what was the reason for him coming here.
“The Kings…”
The Master’s eyes shot up in anger. “What the hell?!” He shouted angrily but Lucrious was used to it and didn’t even flinch. “I went there a few days ago for nothing! Do I have a reason to go there except “because the Kings said so”?”
“It concerns You, master Baal and the woman you brought here not long ago.” The short demon informed Jin flatly.
Hearing those words the hairs on Agares’ neck stood up. Not again, those bastards were going to pry into his business and try to get information about Y/N out of him. He felt that something was wrong the moment Lurious came in. Maybe Asmodeus had talked… Immediately he began preparations to leave. It was a bummer that Yoongi was not in Doordale to accompany him to the palace, so he can back him up if needed. The only good thing was that Y/N wasn’t present to witness the clash between the five men and get scared like that time at the bathhouse.
As per usual, every time the Master went to the central parts he put on his best clothes and looked presentable. The habit was a habit and no matter what was the reason for going there Jin always stayed true to himself.
The maids brought for him a blue dress shirt with black cuffs, black trousers and a black cloak that hung on the demon’s broad shoulders with two massive shoulder pads made of silver. Finally, he took out the pin symbolizing the Sin of Wrath and put it on the left side of his chest.
“Time to go…” whispering to himself Agares took one final look in the mirror and walked out.
One thing that Jin did right before leaving was to send one of his shapeshifters to the Land of the Oracles in secret to bring the news to Y/N and Baal.
In reality, there was nothing to be done now. The truth was going to come one way or another. Can you imagine the damage it was going to cause? Well, no one could, up until the exact moment everything would go down. The future-seers as they liked to call them were long dead and it was not known if there was some descendant still alive in any of the worlds, so the desperate thought that crossed Jungkook’s mind vanished soon. He tried to find the best way to tell the others what he knew but the outcome was just as unclear.
The way King Mammon was sitting on the throne-like chair was domineering and proud, his legs crossed in an ankle-over-knee way, with arms on the hand rests. He believed that if you pretend about something for long enough, soon you manage to make it real. Now the King was pretending to be confident and composed as he usually was. Aamon sat next to him as always, then Noir and at the other end - Alastor.
The room that they had decided to use was in the tallest tower of the palace, with a lot of paintings hanging on the stone walls, a wooden floor and many windows. There was a circular table in the middle with seven chairs around it. Long ago the demons were using it to decide on important issues together, but after some of them took different ways Jimin suggested they lock it for good. Until now…
When the General appeared he took the seat next to Hoseok, greeting everyone in the process. Always so polite and respectful… He was surprised to be here again after so long but didn’t question the choice of place. Giving his red coat to one of the maids Taehyung sat patiently in silence. Gaap was sure the Kings were waiting for the other two.
Hearing the commotion outside five pairs of eyes turned to the door. Jin entered on the verge of exploding. He couldn’t believe they decided to use the tower and remind everyone of the past which was long gone. Looking over at the chairs he huffed in annoyance - no way to sit away from any of them.
For a few seconds, after everyone had taken their place, no one said a thing until Mammon broke the silence, clearing his throat. “I’m guessing all of you are wondering why the fuck we’re here. I have a very good reason to insist on a gathering of this sort and I have someone to back me up with facts.” He gave a sign to the man standing guard and when the valet opened the door Asmodeus walked in. The other demons were “shocked” lightly said. They didn’t utter a word but their facial expressions were more than enough - disgust, disapproval and surprise. Not Taehyung though, the General was completely indifferent, at least on the outside. A good trick that kept his inner thoughts private, it was as if he was playing poker.
“Care to explain?” Jimin hissed, narrowing his eyes. Something felt so off. The spy was not seen for years now, and his whereabouts were not known to this day.
“Look at that” Alastor bared his teeth at Christopher. “I thought you were dead. As you should be” the King’s face became a cold mask and the corners of his mouth turned downwards. “Traitor.”
The spy grinned at the six demons “Such a warm welcome, I didn’t expect it.” Old grudges had risen and were threatening to ruin the whole plan for tonight. Mammon’s mind was running laps, trying to come up with a way to stop them from arguing.
“He was on a mission I sent him” the King of the North intervened in hopes that would calm the others down. “I wanted to gain intel on the therianthropes and ordered Asmodeus to infiltrate their army. He came back on the day of the feast to bring me up to speed with what he had learned.”
The others were listening carefully still on edge. Namjoon pointed a finger in the spy’s direction, closing one eye as if he was going to shoot. “I see you’ve changed bodies. Applauses for that” it was truly impressive how the spy managed to blend in every environment and even though he was hated by most Christopher still remained the best in what he was doing.
Trying to get back to the point Jungkook cleared his throat “Can we not digress?” Everyone looked at him, becoming quiet once more. “Thank you… So we’ve all met Y/N, the supposed princess. She became important to some of us to a different extent” eyeing Agares and Aamon he saw the recognition in their faces. Jin though was ready to throw hands any moment now.
“Keep her out of this!” he growled at the tattooed demon.
“No.” Mammon cut the broad-shouldered man off and went on. “I am biased too, more than I’d like to admit.” The rest nodded, knowing far too well what he meant by that. “Because of that reason I hate to do this. This conversation might very well put a target on Y/N’s back but I’m looking for everyone’s best interest…”
Before he could continue Jin rose from his chair and hit the table with a fist. “Then don’t do it!” While shouting the demon’s eyes turned pitch-black and strands of hair in the front parted for the horns that were coming out. “Keep in mind that if you screw her up I will kill you! All of you!” Threats and swears poured out of Agares’ mouth in a fit of rage. He couldn’t let this happen. Never… The Master was willing to put himself in harm’s way and take the fall, just so Y/N could stay safe.
Sighing King Mammon shook his head in disappointment and repeated again. “I’m doing this for us. Because I, as we all do, am looking for our best interest.”
“Sit down” Namjoon whispered threateningly, which forced Agares to give up and take his seat once more. The feeling of defeat always had a sour taste.
“I can’t speak about it and that’s why Asmodeus is here. He will open his mind to you and show you what he had found out. The information concerns the oncoming war too, not only Y/N.” Mentally preparing for the next part Jungkook finished talking by saying “Another thing is that I’m going to present you with my memories too since there’s no way I can speak about what I know.”
Stepping forward the spy closed his eyes and inhaled deeply gathering all the scattered pieces of information together, ordering them chronologically so it all made sense for the others. It was an uncomfortable feeling for five people to poke and prode inside your head but what could he do? Jungkook was paying a great deal for his services and it was only fair to oblige.
Then they saw it.
Jin and Yoongi were arguing during the feast about Y/N and keeping the turth about her a secret.
Baal and the girl passing through the Wishing Well and getting to the Land of the Oracles. Then how the barriers were lifted for them in the forest surrounding one of the borders.
Later on how she was trying to memorize the runes written in a big book, writing them down countless times and reading them out loud.
The Ace helping Y/N with the physical and mental training. How she was influencing creatures around her to do what she wanted them to do.
Baal standing around while the woman was recovering after the exhausting training and use of the Spark.
Y/N meeting the spy of the Queen in the woods, close to the cliffs. They saw how she ran back to the castle with all the strength left in her, scared to death.
The scenes cut off after that and Chan staggered backward, overwhelmed by it all. He held his head as if the worst migraine had taken over him.
“Fuck… I hope that’s enough.” He whispered tiredly. Jungkook thanked him and told him that it was okay to leave now. The spy didn’t need to be told twice. Bowing to the six men he turned and left immediately.
“My turn now.”
Facing the others and seeing their faces made Jungkook nervous. They were so confused and lost. Everything was a lie… Jin was getting angrier by the second. He felt this was the biggest betrayal, to him and to Y/N. Now it seemed like Mammon was doing everything he could in order to present her, him and Baal as ticking time bombs.
Taehyung appeared calmer than Namjoon, Hoseok and Jimin. He knew from the start that she was not just a girl from Jin’s harem. It simply didn’t make sense for him to keep Y/N in such high regard and care so much, and call the General to train her if there wasn’t something more to it.
The Kings and Agares, along with Gaap concentrated once again and the moment they felt the mind-guard of Mammon’s mind had been dropped the men saw a line of memories.
It was a scene of the young woman in complete distress, shaking and crying in a bathroom. Then she was in Jungkook’s strong arms, desperately holding onto the demon, looking like a wreck, tears running down her cheeks.
What came next made Alastor gasp, taken off-guard. Y/N was explaining what she had seen in the mirror, the reflection of her with ink-like marks. Then the demons saw Y/N explaining to Mammon what had happened in a nightmare from the previous night, and in the end the deal Jungkook and she had made.
The girl insisted on the King’s promise to keep all of this a secret. Bound by blood there was no way he could speak about it but this loophole remained…
When everything ended the first thing that Jimin noticed was Jin who had bared his teeth, clenching his jaws hard and bloody tears were rolling down the demon’s face, distorted by ugly emotions.
“You…” Agares’ voice was gruff and low, his eyes burning holes into Jungkook’s face “If she dies or is harmed in any way, you will pay for it dearly. Mark my word.”
Alastor hummed entirely out of it all, into his own world. “Interesting… it looks like Y/N’s turning into a demon, but those powers of persuasion…”
Namjoon nodded silently. “Like the Spark.”
“It all makes perfect sense now” the King of the South mused. He had mixed feelings about this situation. All the lies and cover-ups made it all the more suspicious right from the start, Jin hiding the girl for weeks from them, then spontaneously agreeing for an audience.
“It does,” the General said finally. “I knew there was something fishy but I couldn’t be sure. Thank you for being honest with us” Taehyung looked appreciatively at King Mammon. This was his greatest feature, the desire to be brutally honest till the end. Jungkook felt like a wreck at this moment, a feeling that was not normal for a demon.
I’m sorry Y/N. Forgive me…
“We’re so screwed” Yoongi was almost trembling while reading the letter that Jin had sent him. “They know must know about you and Agares’ plan by now. The Kings won’t be kind. We might be killed once we return.” Y/N was staring into the space before her with an empty expression. The words were reaching the girl’s ears but not getting through to her. Things had gotten a nasty turn and fear was consuming her too fast for her liking. With sweaty palms, the young woman reached for Yoongi and immediately the demon kneeled down to hold them. “I won’t let them hurt you, even if it means dying. I promise you that.”
Those words weighed heavy on Y/N’s mind and her eyes became teary. “I don’t want you to die” she sobbed quietly. “I don’t want to die…”
“I won’t let that happen” Baal continued speaking while stroking the woman’s arms soothingly. “Trust me.”
“We have to go get Jin” was the next thing she said. The demon’s blood ran cold. “We can’t let him die, w-we can’t!”
Considering what he might have already said it could be too late for the black-haired demon. There were too many unknowns, for example: did Agares slip and revealed the initial plan he came up with, did he tell the Kings about the Spark and Y/N, what had Jungkook said about her time in the North… The main question that remained was if there was someone to stand by the Master’s side and vouch for him somehow. It was a huge risk to go by assumption.
Baal was sure after all those centuries that Namjoon was a reasonable demon, the voice of rationality, Jimin as well, but everyone had their limits. If Jin’s temper had taken the best of him everything might have been over by now for the man. “I don’t know what to do” Yoongi admitted with a troubled expression. It was so rare for him to say that and feel it so strongly, it was not a figure of speech anymore.
Trying to stay afloat Y/N was struggling to come up with a solution, just something they could do. This reminded her of all those times when she was at the ER and had to think fast and decide what was the best course of action in a matter of seconds so a patient could live. The young woman was trained to act in all kinds of unexpected situations but this time… “I can’t think of anything to go around it too. We have to come clean, you and I. Maybe they will be merciful.” There existed no other way.
“Maybe you’re right.”
The Leader of the Oracles was not happy at all when he heard what Y/N and Yoongi had planned to do but couldn’t stop them. Actually, Trophonius was more than happy for the demon to go but he wanted to keep the Spark safe. The two informed him that it wasn’t an option, which made the man very upset. After all kinds of warnings and instructions for the girl on what to do and what not he finally decided let them go. His worst fear was for Y/N’s powers to get out of control. “You could die if things go south,” the Oracle said holding her hands. “Mind your stamina and the usage of the Spark. Don’t let your anger and negative emotions run wild because they might trigger an unforeseen transformation. If that happens the two sides will clash and I have no idea what the consequences will be.”
“Thank you for everything, I will never forget what all of you did for me and Yoongi” Y/N smiled weakly. Then the Ace came running into the main hall.
“Don’t go to them, Y/N!” He begged, taking her face into his huge hands. He appeared to be in more distress than the girl even. She managed to grow on him for such a short period of time. “We can teach you so much more, and have fun and…”
A tear rolled down Y/N’s face while she looked at the Ace. Placing her hands over his the young woman forced a bigger smile. “Don’t worry. I will come back for another round when all of this is over” an empty promise that they all knew might never come true.
After saying final goodbyes Yoongi walked out of the palace with her in tow.
Baal was leaning against a tree, far away from roads and houses in a small clearing. Both of them were trying to find a way to get into the palace without being noticed by the guards and the staff. For sure at some point, someone was going to feel unknown energy emitting from somewhere but it could give the two enough time to come up with a contingency plan if things turned sour.
“I can get us there through the Wishing Well, just like before but in order to do that I will have to mask our energy. It’s going to take a lot out of me, so don’t fret if I seem out of it for a while.”
“Let’s do that but I want to help you.”
He nodded. Baal needed all the help she could provide because they didn’t know what was going to happen in Doordale. “Try to suppress the energy flow of the Spark and clear your mind.”
Sometime later a portal appeared that led the two to one hall in the palace. Carefully, not to get noticed, Y/N and Yoongi navigated swiftly through the place checking all of the potential locations for the others. “What the hell?” The demon hissed looking around for a place to hide. Running into a room full of tablecloths and napkins Y/N closed the door behind them. “Where did they go to?! We checked literally every possible place they could hold this type of meeting.”
“Some dungeon? Or in another building? Or one of the other castles?”
“No, no. Jin said they’re going to be here in the letter…” Thinking hard the demon’s eyes widened suddenly and his breath hitched. “The tower…” he whispered and grabbed Y/N’s hand dragging her out of the small storage room. The woman stumbled, almost falling over on their way out.
“Hey, slow down!”
“We don’t have time. Hurry up.”
Once they reached the tower Y/N and Baal could hear muffled voices coming from the only room at the top of the stairs. There were no guards in front of the door, which was a sign that the meeting was very secretive and important.
Yoongi began hearing every word clearly on the last few stairs, while the girl only got some separate sentences, but it was enough to get the idea of the conversation. It was not going well…
“Do you remember this legend about the demon and the Spark getting together” Hoseok spoke up again. His father had told him all kinds of stories but this was the one he remembered the best. “Maybe it’s true. There was even a painting somewhere in Leviatan’s old treasury.”
“My question is why did you lie to us?” Noir directed his attention to Agares. “Why when all of us asked where did she come from, you came up with those ridiculous stories to tell? Are you planning to overthrow us with Yoongi?”
The classic Corson with his questions. This managed to get on the Master’s nerves each time. “Because if you knew what she was then I bet my life that someone would come to take Y/N away from me.” So much pain could be heard in Jin’s voice now.
“Have we ever-” Noir began asking but Agares raised his hand in the air to stop him.
“We are all demons. Let’s be honest - we usually take what we want, from whoever we want.”
“That doesn’t answer my question - why did you lie?”
The situation was getting more and more heated, Jin felt under fire and his first reaction was to get enraged like most times, but he was outnumbered now. If things got even more out of hand the demon was risking losing what was left of the General’s friendship too. Thinking back Agares remembered how Y/N gave him hell for not thinking before speaking first. Maybe he couldn’t make it right by her at the moment but could start to make difference in the future. The Master took a deep breath trying to suppress the poisonous anger still burning within him and then once he was ready looked up at the others, who were still waiting for a response.
“Look, I stand behind my every action. The things I’m going to say don’t mean I regret something but for the sake of the past I’ve decided to come clean.” With a flat expression Namjoon nodded, ready to listen. “So… In the beginning I got Y/N here so she can help me. I’ve been bottling up so much anger towards all of you during the years, and the cause for that is very well-known.”
In Jungkook’s mind appeared the same image of the woman who ruined everything for the seven men. Hoseok saw it and his expression turned grim. Why now of all times he had to bring it up? Wasn’t the tension between them and the war hanging over their heads enough? Alastor knew he was to blame for the initial cause of the demon falling out but later the Kings and Taehyung managed to overcome it. Why couldn’t Agares and Baal let go of this too?
“So… it took me years to find this woman, the Spark. Since the beginning I knew who and what she was, so the best course of action in my opinion was to send Yoongi in the human world and bring Y/N here.” Here comes the bomb Jin was hiding for so long. “The reason for all this…” meeting Noir’s eyes he straightened up ready to say it “was to take you down.”
Jimin’s body turned rigid in a split second, ready to pounce. “What?!” he said through clenched teeth, balling his fists on the table.
“Wow, that’s bold” Taehyung barked a laughter and his eyes widened in disbelief.
“No, just listen to me. I was so consumed by rage and haterd” hurrying to explain, Jin’s words were barely discernable. “Baal was never quite okay with it but he is my subordinate, so he did what I asked him to.”
“You used him” Namjoon concluded, shifting ever so slightly in the chair.
Agares nodded curtly. “Now I see how I abused the fact that he is dedicated to making things work no matter the cost. He followed me. Later on when Y/N came to us I was trying to force her to master the Spark fast so I could continue with my plan but also fuck around with her. That’s when I called Gaap.”
He looked at the General with guilt. “It’s true that I put him in a difficult position because he had to keep a secret too. Then later I don’t know how but you…” Agares waved a hand in front of him “found out about the Y/N being here. I came up with so many lies and had to bring Yoongi and the girl up to speed so they don’t falter. She kept telling me this is ridiculous, she was afraid of you all and me too and I think that somehow her abilities began working subconsciously. My vision began changing, at some point I started questioning myself and the choices I’ve made.”
Jungkook’s doe eyes were wide open, surprised by the turn of events. The King could feel that the Master was honest, the body language, the tone, his way of pronounciation and aura showed it. Truly impressive…
“So then and there I set a new goal - to prove myself to you by winning the war. Y/N changed my perspective somehow, maybe she didn’t even know it but it happened. I’m still pretty pissed that Alastor chose a whore over us and that all of you took his side. That’s why I did what I did and if there was a second go I would still choose the same path.”
“Typical” King Aamon muttered with a smirk.
“My best bet to win the war is for Y/N to master her abilities and use them. Another thing that occured to me during that time was if it was possible for her to fix us,” Agares said finally and leaned back, feeling like a heavy load has been lifted off of his shoulders.
The others were quiet for a while, buried in their own thoughts trying to process everything and come up with something to say. King Corson stood up and walked to the windows, his back turned to the other demons. “This is a capital offense, Jin, according to the Codex of the Dark Lodge and the Law of Doordale.”
“I know.”
“But I see that Y/N did the unimaginable and has changed you.”
Alastor rolled his eyes and snorted, adopting an expression of displeasure and suspicion. He was astounded by how fast Namjoon took Jin’s word at face worth. It was absolutely ridiculous after the confession the Master had just made. “You’re seriously ready to look the other way?” He asked disappointed and extended an open palm towards King Corson. Everyone knew that the frivolous and light behavior of Hoseok could vanish at any given moment and then all hell would break loose. Namjoon didn’t give much thought to this snappy comment though because if there was a way to talk and sort out the issue quietly Alastor was usually ready to listen. At least most of the time…
“Can’t you feel him? It’s a different sensation - Agares’ energy I mean.” Corson was still talking with his back turned towards the others.
Raising his voice, Alastor looked at the rest for support “Are you ready to forgive him for the coup plot? Jin can turn on us anytime now once Y/N’s influence disappears!”
Jimin looked at the table feeling guilty for not being ready to take the other one’s side immediately. Maybe this time Jin was right, maybe Y/N could bring them back together somehow.
“We forgave you then, without putting up a fight” the General reminded him calmly. There was absolutely no need for aggression. “I know very well what he just admitted is treason but listen to what is his goal now.” He was giving his best to reason with the King of the East.
“I’m just as guilty for not following the Codex and hiding things about Y/N too. Are you going to crucify me now too?” Jungkook asked and crossed his arms.
Everyone had something to be blamed for, and answer for some kind of fault. If they were going to look at it that way, then Alastor, Mammon, Agares, Baal and Gaap had to be stripped of their titles, banished or killed all.
Frustrated, Hoseok buried his face in his hands, breathing heavily. Everyone had decided to give Jin the benefit of the doubt and trust him this time. He had no way to turn it around… “I’m so sick of this girl, seriously” the King hissed “and you. You are to blame for Yoongi turning on us before, and now for this shit-show too! The worst part is that she might turn into some mostrousity and enslave us considering the extend of the Spark’s powers. There was a good reason why this nation was wiped. They were just too powerful!” Thank heavens that Agares wasn’t someone to be easily guilt-tripped. He just smiled proudly at Alastor and didn’t say a word.
At that moment the door flew open.
The six demons flipped their heads in that direction, all tensing up. Y/N stood at the doorway, her face dark, like a storm cloud. Yoongi was right behind her, looking at Hoseok with fury.
“You have some nerve” Baal grinned at the King. Corson was well-known for being close to uncontrollable at certain times, and given everything they’ve overheard up until now, this situation was one of those instances.
The look of shock on Jungkook and Jimin’s faces persisted for a while.
“What are you doing here?” Jin raised a brow at his subordinate and the girl. It was better for just one of them to go down, so the other can protect Y/N since they were not out of the woods quite yet.
“Came to help you” Y/N clicked her tongue with a look of offense. “Be thankful” she snapped at him. Namjoon chuckled at this attitude and sent a knowing look at Jungkook. This was a pure play but unfortunately, King Alastor didn’t see it that way.
“This is what I’m talking about! She’s gonna turn on us in time and force the seven of us to kneel and crawl at her feet!” Standing up, he got closer to Y/N, with a menacing expression. The others got quiet. The room felt stuffy and began buzzing with all kinds of energy. It was going to get ugly.
“I suggest you step back, King Alastor” the woman warned, feeling the power bubbling at the pit of her stomach. The demon just laughed and moved even closer to the girl’s face with a bold look in his eyes.
“Don’t try to give me orders. You’re a half-blood mutt, who thinks that everything revolves around her. You’re very mistaken” his perfect white teeth clicked.
Even though everyone was paying close attention to the two no one could be prepared for what Hoseok did next. With the speed of light, he grabbed Y/N by the neck and lifted her in the air. The skin on Alastor’s face, neck and shoulders was quickly replaced by the shiny scales Y/N had seen on the night of the feast. King Corson appeared behind Hoseok placing a hand on the other one’s arm. “Don’t. She’s innocent.”
“No! She’s not” he hissed and the snake-like tongue flashed between the demon’s teeth. Squeezing harder and harder Y/N struggled to breathe. It wouldn’t take much for him to break her neck with a strength like that. All of the others were firmly planted in their spot ready to act if Namjoon gave them a sign. “You want to let Baal, Agares and Y/N go! The things they did - it’s treason! They’re guilty!” Hoseok raged.
“Yes, there will be consequences,” Noir tried to reassure him but this too didn’t have any effect.
“Ah, yes! You will give their asses a slap for being naughty?”
“No” the King of the West sighed heavily. “Let Y/N go and we will talk.”
Slowly her consciousness was slipping and the girl’s vision became blurry. Trophonius’ words of advice rang in her head “Mind your stamina and the usage of the Spark. Don’t let your anger and negative emotions run wild because they can trigger an unforeseen transformation.” But this… was this an exception? None of them was ready to do anything so Y/N had to save herself.
The sole reason for their inaction was the fear of Alastor doing something irredeemable to her. Neither Yoongi nor Jin, Junkook or Jimin would be able to forgive themselves if she died because of them.
With trembling hands, Y/N grabbed Hoseok’s strong arm and closed her eyes. Putting all the strength left in her to good use she began imagining how he was letting go of her neck. Once… twice… three times… The demon’s mind began breaking open for the Spark.
“She’s doing it! She’s trying to mess with my head!” Alastor shouted. It took a few more seconds but his strong grip was getting loose. The General observed carefully, his jaw tight while seeing how the King of the South was trying to fight the influence. His beautiful facial features contorted with pain and anger.
Y/N was at the end of her vital power and felt the Spark becoming weaker. Jimin couldn’t stand this anymore but before any of them could do anything Hoseok opened his hand suddenly and Y/N fell to the ground with a loud thud. With one swift motion, Aamon was at Y/N’s side lifting the girl up. Coughing and struggling to calm herself down she felt the energy running through her body forcefully.
Chaos erupted seconds after - Jungkook appeared behind Alastor grabbing his hands in a tight grip, Yoongi leaped forward like a lion, transforming in the process. A gash formed on Hoseok’s face. The three of them struggled for a few moments before the others could do a thing. Namjoon got to Mammon first, dragging him back, while Jin and Taehyung tried to do the same. The attempt to break them apart was a complete and utter failure - the three were back at their throats just as fast.
Y/N buried her face in Jimin’s chest who was hugging her tightly, using his body as a shield. Centering herself the girl tried to stand up and when the King saw that, immediately wrapped one arm around her waist for support. It took a while but like cogwheels, the Spark began doing its’ thing obeying Y/N’s will. What happened next forced everyone to turn around.
The young woman’s eyes began shining and her voice sounded like an extremely loud echo “Stop it!” If only she could see herself from the side… “Sit” pointing at the table and the fallen chairs the demons became silent and did what was ordered.
Their minds were completely empty, under the influence of the Spark and no one could fight it anymore. Y/N’s body was straining but it didn’t matter. “If I wanted to take you down… I could do it just as easily as that” she turned to Alastor, whose face was still bleeding. “I’m a doctor, I took an oath to not do harm… I will never do the opposite…” it was so hard to breathe now while speaking. “As you all see… somehow I managed to change Agares… he is different and so is Baal.”
Jimin was still providing support but got genuinely scared when he saw a black handprint appearing over the woman’s mouth. “Y/N, calm down, please” he begged while staring at her expressionless face. She didn’t pay any attention to the King, as if he wasn’t even there.
The other six were powerless, they were seeing everything but couldn’t lift a finger.
“I’m not a monster King Alastor… from what I’ve heard it was you who… delivered the first blow long ago and… the others are not to blame.” Taking a few deep breaths the Spark then continued speaking “Don’t turn me into… the villain I’m not. I might be a half-blood but that… doesn’t make me any less deserving of life.” with those words Y/N’s body became limp in the hands of Aamon. The influence disappeared momentarily and Yoongi along with Jungkook rushed to the girl. She had blacked out after running out of energy.
Those things that the Oracle warned about happened just as he said. Mammon was watching her with deep regret not knowing how to proceed. Baal was quick to check if she was still alive, finding the carotid artery and pressing onto it. There was a pulse and even though it was weak he breathed out a sigh of relief, glad Y/N was alive.
No one dared to say a word after that but something has changed.

No one chooses to be sick. Why do people want to profit from me and everyone else who is sick?
We will probably live with that for the rest of our lives, why do they have to make it even harder?

Languages were never a problem to Y/N - first it was French, then Italian, later on Japanese and in the end - Latin in the Medical university. The best in her opinion was how once you knew enough it all started to connect and make sense. Latin was the mother of all languages basically so everything came together, the logic in words, the spelling, the pronunciation.
But this…?
This language here made no damn sense. No matter how hard Y/N tried to remember it slipped every time. A new technique had to be found. All the crooked lines and circles didn’t help much and then it came to her - pictures! For example - the rune for a “flying bird” was like a Y but the two upper lines were bent upwards and there was a small dot in the middle; the rune for a “soul” was a perfect circle with a thick dot in the center and so on.
Taking notes like a good student the young woman was slowly learning. The Ace made fun of her in the beginning but then saw the point in this and accepted it.
“It’s easy for you. All of you people grew up with his language” she said with a sulky expression. “Cut me some slack.”
“You have a point here…” the oracle agreed dryly.
A few more days went by and Y/N was becoming more and more used to writing the runes. The Ace was updating Trophonius on a regular basis on the progress and what they were doing and in the end Y/N decided to do the same.
Knocking on Yoongi’s room she felt more nervous than before, maybe because he was becoming more distant due to her lack of free time.
“Yes?” His raspy deep voice came from the other side of the door.
“It’s me.”
“Come on in then.”
She saw the demon sitting in an armchair next to the window with eyes tightly closed. Quietly Y/N approached him, stepping ever so slowly on the floorboards, almost not breathing. When the girl got closer Baal whipped his head in her direction, his pupils were slits, snake-like. “What is it?”
“Straight to the point I see” she smirked.
“I don’t want to waste your time. Why are you here? Do you need something from me?”
Irritation began bubbling inside Y/N but given her training, she managed to successfully suppress it.
“Oh!” The demon gasped in surprise. “I felt that! You’re doing good!”
He changed his attitude in a split second which made the young woman smile again. Yoongi for once appeared more excited than ever before and she enjoyed it. It was such a nice and warm feeling - to be supported.
“That’s why I came…” she began saying reluctantly “if you want to listen.”
He rose in his seat beckoning her to continue with a hand gesture.
The two talked for a very long time. Becoming closer to someone who was once an inseparable part of your life is precious. Of course, rifts appear sometimes, alienation too and that goes for the otherworldly beings too. Estrangement hurts like a motherfucker no doubt but there is no sweeter feeling than getting back with the loveable asshat, because he’s your lovable asshat.
“And I know how to write many words now!” Y/N exclaimed like a little girl, her eyes shining beautifully.
Yoongi’s features became softer while watching the young woman shine with pride while talking to him. “Show me” he urged getting up to find pen and paper.
She demonstrated the newly acquired knowledge and skills. The demon had bent over her looking more at the concentrated face and cute gestures than at the writings. Such a cute one…
“And this one” the young woman was drawing(?) a circle with a square inside “means human.”
“Correct” Baal purred.
“Do you know how I remembered it?” When she turned the demon’s face was a few inches away from hers which took Y/N by surprise and she stuttered. “Uh…”
Sliding his eyes to her lips Yoongi’s demeanor became more enticing “Tell me, Y/N.”
“Uh… d-do you know Leonardo DaVinci? H-he…” it was becoming harder to keep a straight and clear mind. Gulping she tried desperately to continue. “He made a drawing called “The Vetruvian Man”. Depending on the posture of his body the man can fit either in a square or a circle.”
“Such a smart girl.” It was a sticky-sweet feeling - she was so adorable when flustered and Baal couldn’t get enough of it. The demon reached out and touched Y/N’s lower lip. “Why is it trembling?” He teased putting her in a position of a little girl, rendering the young woman speechless. Her breath hitched and became ragged. “Your eyes are getting so wide… calm down.”
The mint-haired demon placed a hand over Y/N’s heart feeling the elevated pulse. “Calm down” he softly repeated. She moved closer, her eyelids lowering seductively. Completely unintentionally of course… Baal’s pupils dilated while looking at this lovely creature sitting in front of him.
That’s gonna be a huge mistake. Which is going to hurt like a motherfucker. A voice in Baal’s head warned. I know…
Their lips met feverously. Throwing the pen aside Y/N straddled the demon. She was hungry for his affection way more than before. It was so long since they last had any kind of physical contact. Sheepishly the girl’s hand reached up to feel Yoongi’s soft strands of hair. Encouragingly his hand overlapped Y/N’s and squeezed it. “Give in…” he whispered between the kisses. The room felt cramped and small, their breaths becoming louder and louder. Teasingly she rolled her hips in Baal’s lap which made him hiss and the demon threw his head back. “Y/N…”
It was so easy to lose yourself in her touch, the sensation of the girl’s soft body pressing into his and the flowery smell of her skin. So enticing and addictive.
Yoongi was the one supposed to lead to sin and temptation but now he was the one under influence. The simple fact was the demon didn’t mind being the tempted one as long as it was Y/N who was leading him.
But then Baal’s mind snapped back then and he felt incredible guilt for giving in so easily. “Y/N. Hey…” Taking the girl in his arms, holding Y/N close, he caressed her back soothingly. “Focus, come on… I’m sorry for this.” Oh. The guilt…
Feeling ashamed she returned to her initial spot and took the pen again. Cue the awkward silence…?
“The Vetruvian Man?”
“Ah yes…” it was going to be like that for a while.
The next day Trophonius informed Y/N that the time to test her mind-bending abilities has come.
“How?”
“You’ll see.”
The Oracle led her to a small marble-coated room. There was a table in the middle with three silver plates covered with lids. “The Ace will join us soon too. Here’s how it’s going to go - you will see what’s under each lid - it’s food by the way - and then cover them again. When he comes the point is to make him choose what you’ve chosen before that.” Sounded simple enough.
“But how?”
“That’s for you to find out.” He then gave the woman a few minutes to see what had been prepared. The first one was filled with strawberries, the second had a cake and the last one was some kind of pastry.
He invited the Ace but Y/N looked at her tutor worriedly. “Is he going to be fine?” Trophonius smirked, “he had seen worse.”
At first the girl just stood there looking at the oracle unblinking. How the fuck is this going to happen? Thinking she began cleaning the imaginary spiderwebs from her brain. Come on… Forcing the picture of the first plate to come forward Y/N forgot about everything else.
"Look at him while you do it, it will be easier" the Leader chimed in with a "pro-tip".
The student's mind was running laps, creating image after image of the plate, shining, looking more polished than the other two, appearing more tempting, then the smell of strawberries was added to the "mix". It felt like an elastic band was tightening in her head, and every fiber of Y/N's being was stretching it more and more. Come on.
"I feel you trying to lead me but nothing is clear yet. Try harder, don't stress" the Ace encouraged. The guy had a huge amount of patience.
"There's this weird sensation that if I push it something is going to break," she said in confusion rubbing her temples. "My head is starting to ache too…"
"Come on, Y/N. Break it. That's your human part trying to fight the other parts of you. Like a protective barrier." Trophonius moved closer and took Y/N's hand. "Use my energy if you need and once you figure out how to do it alone I will wait and watch."
Squeezing the man's hand she forced the thoughts to flow in the same straight direction. Staring into Ace's eyes the elastic became tense again. The first plate is the best one of all. The strawberries smell so nice and are ripe. Take it… TAKE IT. Choose the first one…
Come on! Then it was like a bucket of cold water splashed her in the face. The feeling was that of relief and shock.
The Ace blinked a few times and shook his head as if to get something out. He squinted his eyes and pointed at the table. "The first one with the strawberries."
Y/N gasped, breaking out of the daze. It happened!
"It worked!" She shouted running to open the plate and present it to her tutor. The Leader seemed mildly impressed but the girl was extremely proud and busy hyping herself for the achievement. "Whoa! I can't believe it…"
"Breakf…" the world slowly faded and she lost consciousness. Everything became dark…
Y/N was back in her world in the dissection halls. You could smell the formaldehyde everywhere in the whole building. Judging by the feeling it was the first year of university. Felix was manning the scalpel bravely.
“I have never thought that I’m going to be doing this” Monica was complaining while putting her gloves on.
“It’s very interesting, come on. Y/N, you too” the blond boy called for them. “Y/N?”
She felt so faint by the smell and the gray tiles plastered all over the hall. The sight of the corpse was not the problem but the chemicals. Fuck… the student’s body felt too light.
“I don’t like the smell. Damn it…” she rasped while placing the protective mask over her face.
“Y/N?” Felix’ voice had traces of panic. “Hey!”
“Y/N!”
“Wake up! Y/N!” The voices slowly became clearer. When she opened her eyes the surroundings had changed. It was not the marble room anymore but her bedroom. The Ace had bent over the girl’s weak figure. “Oh thank the Heavens!”
The effort to get up was too much to handle and she dropped back down. “Ease up,” the Oracle said from further away.
“This is too much for her” Yoongi was here. A… a sound for sore ears? If you could say that…
“My demon…” Y/N rasped still floating in and out of consciousness. The room became quiet and the two oracles stepped back leaving space for Baal to come forward. He slowly approached and placed his hand over the girl’s forehead.
“You did good but take it slow now” trying to keep her awake he tried channeling some of his energy to pass through her.
“Don't,” Trophonius warned. Yoongi looked questioningly at him. The Leader provided immediately given the situation. “Her Spark will get tainted. You are tainted.”
The demon’s expression turned grim. He knew that his existence was a blasphemy to the oracles and all other creatures of the light. Every other demon was the same as him and up until now it had never stricken him quite like now.
“Yoongi” Y/N called for him and ripped Baal out of his poisonous thoughts.
“You’re worrying too much. With time this will pass and she won’t faint.” The Leader began talking once more. “It was the first time Y/N did it and it was a complete success.”
The young woman smiled widely. “Did you hear that?” It was so sweet, this feeling of accomplishment. She began falling asleep again. Trophonius urged the other two to leave but Yoongi stood planted in his spot.
“I’m not going anywhere.” His cold demeanor showed the Oracle that he didn’t have the slightest intention of leaving Y/N’s side anytime soon.
“Suit yourself” Trophonius spat out and left.
Jin had placed his hands on the table in the trophy room while looking at the new plans for the placement, distribution and movement of the men in the legions. The training was going to be tough. The troops had to learn a new formation in a very short time but he was confident they could do it.
There was something so weird about the situation he was in now - Agares strived for recognition, not revenge or something else anymore. Yes, he definitely still held grudges against the Kings but now things felt different. The Master was going to prove that he was capable of taking down whoever stood in his way and give the rest a reason to congratulate him just like before…
“Master” a quiet voice called for the demon from the other side of the door. A knock followed and Agares rolled his eyes in annoyance.
“What?!” he roared slamming his hands over the plans.
Lucrious entered sheepishly, keeping his head low. “The Kings… they sent for you.”
“Fuck!” Agares shouted and turned to face the messenger. “What for exactly?”
“I don’t know. The message was pretty cryptic.”
Gesturing towards the valet to gather the plans and store them away, Jin grabbed the black coat hanging on the chair nearby and exited the room. Time for some unpleasantness.
“Why am I here again?” Agares asked Namjoon who seemed to be in a good mood for a change. Smiling sideways the King of the West had this peculiar look of satisfaction plastered on his face.
“A little bird told me you’re preparing for the war. How is that going?” There was a hint of mockery in the King’s voice.
“I am and as a matter of fact you interrupted me.”
Hoseok laughed while crossing his long slim legs. What was so funny? “Do you know something we don’t by any chance?” They were searching for something in Agares’ mind he could feel it, the four of them pocking around in the Master’s mind. He had taken the necessary precautions beforehand, carefully clearing his mind and thinking about trivial things the moment he entered the palace.
“No I don’t and even if I did… well you know I would never tell you.” The venom laced in Jin’s tone was so frightening but the Kings didn’t even pay attention to this behavior.
Corson became all serious and stood up drawing Agares’ attention to him. The features of the King’s face had changed already - his pointy chin was protruding, the high cheekbones became more defined and Noir’s beautiful eyes were now hooded and dark. “Let me remind you that we’re playing on the same side here. You’re royalty too but we” he gestured towards the four Kings “...we are the main power here. The General wants to know what are your intentions, it’s not a war led by you, it’s a matter concerning the whole Doordale.”
Taehyung stood by Jungkook’s side unmoving and quiet. Then Gaap’s voice filled the hall. “Keep in mind your manpower is not nearly enough to take the Queen’s army. The therianthropes count on their number, while we…”
Jin cut him mid-sentence “We rely on the quality. I know that.”
“Exactly. Sharing the new plans you’ve developed is going to benefit the outcome.” The General continued in a flat tone. Agares frowned.
“How exactly do you know about all of this? It seems fishy.”
Hoseok laughed once more. “We have our ways but it would be best for all of us if you just give the information we need.”
Overtaken by frustration and anger the Master threw his hands in the air. Feeling powerless the demon began transforming, the horns slowly beginning to stick out.
“We… we found out… about” trying to keep his composure Jin began breathing slowly. “There were spies in my legions.”
“No wonder,” Jimin said while leaning on his hand. His silver heels hit the floor once. “While you were playing around with this pretty princess you’ve found - Y/N - the things in your legions were slowly falling apart. Am I wrong?” That was Aamon’s way of hitting the spot in someone, finding the weak points. At that Jin exhaled loudly turning to the King.
“All of this happened before she came here” Agares tried to find a way out of this conversation but without success.
Jimin smirked and ran a hand through his silver locks. “That’s even worse.”
Namjoon cleared his throat. “With that being said, care to share with the group?” Feeling defeated Agares began telling the Kings and the General what he knew and how he had dealt with the issue and finally - the follow-up plans. The atmosphere became lighter and everyone visibly eased up, forgetting the hostility for a while.
“How are the things in the Academy?” Jungkook asked lifting his head up to look at Taehyung.
“We have new people who seem pretty promising, I guarantee.” Given the training programs and the experience the General had everyone took his word at face worth. Gaap was a proud commander and stood by his word.
Long ago before all turned to shit Jungkook was his closest companion along with Jimin. After the nasty ordeals, the three of them maintained a neutral relationship but from time to time their old friendship shined through the dark clouds.
“Very well” Namjoon intervened putting an end to the meeting. “Keep in mind Jin, we’re the Deadly Sins, we have our duties. We’re one all seven of us” the King meant it well but to Agares it sounded like belittling.
Jin’s voice tore the air in the hall. “I’m Wrath! I know what I have to do and how to do it!” His roar could shake the ground. “Keep in mind I do all of this for the sake of the outcome of this upcoming war. You… all of you will see me. I promise you that!” The other five demons standing in front of him felt the pain and bitterness in the Master’s voice. He wanted to give Hell to the enemies and Jin was ready to do so. “The Queen will feel my wrath and hatred for all she had done, mark my word.” There was nothing more heartbreaking than seeing him so enraged and torn up. Y/N’s face appeared in Jin’s mind like an oasis in a dry desert. Feeling the demons standing before him in his head his features turned colder.
“Keep away from Y/N. Don’t try to tangle her in our petty intrigues.” He warned while walking out.
Once the guards closed the double doors Aamon whipped his head around, frowning at the King of the North. “Isn’t he doing exactly that?”
At that Jungkook just nodded trying to refrain from saying anything. He very clearly remembered the conversation he had with Taehyung some days ago and was trying to follow the advice of the General. Mammon still had random thoughts about her especially now when Christopher was after her and Yoongi.
The demon, in his own way, had regrets about neglecting the young woman during the feast. It was natural for him to enjoy the celebrations and live to the fullest, why couldn’t she do it too? There was also the fact that he couldn’t just leave the important guests unattended for long, it could hinder the image of the King. But you said Y/N’s important to you? Why couldn’t you take care of the girl? You want her right? Thoughts plagued Mammon’s mind, the two sides of him were fighting a war since the day she left his residence. Why couldn’t this woman accept her true nature and become mine? I can give her everything and more if she came to terms with what was dormant inside of her.
Jungkook tried to excuse himself and return to the northern wing but Hoseok stopped him.
“Hey, Jungkookie! Wanna play a round of cards?”
The man turned around intrigued “Which game?”
“Go-stop” Alastor smiled and stood up.
“I want to play too” the General came forward too and Jimin expressed his desire to play as well even though by his words he was not really good at it. Namjoon exhaled loudly, the demon’s posture slowly getting relaxed. Everyone turned to look at him.
“I will join you too, to keep track of the score. We still have time till the meeting in the afternoon.”
A new week began at the same pace as before - Y/N would wake up at eight, have breakfast and processed to the training grounds to meet the Ace or the spiritual tutor. Her Spark was growing stronger and the demonic part of her was barely discernible. The fainting spells disappeared completely at some point. Of course, the powers were still not developed enough and from time to time she had to take a timeout when the girl’s head was becoming light from the exhaustion.
The weird scary nightmares stopped bothering the young woman too and the Leader gave it to the fact that darkness inside her soul was now suppressed by the light. Yoongi still knew nothing of Y/N’s origin and she felt better keeping it that way for the time being. Who knows, at some point it might even become unnecessary to mention that she is a half-blood once the Spark takes full control of her body and soul.
In the land of the oracles, all of the passages and portals were regularly checked for intruders or someone unfamiliar.  Maintaining order here was first a priority unlike in Doordale. The Wishing Well was used by so many unknown creatures roaming around and no one cared one bit.
Until…
“Don’t tell me you’ve let someone in!” Trophonius stormed into Yoongi’s room, shouting furiously.
“Excuse me?” The demon turned around, one brow raised in disbelief. “How am I supposed to do that? We crossed the border with a special charm you had given to Agares.”
The Leader grabbed the handle of the dagger hanging on his belt. “Lying piece of shit! You’re a demon!” Baal was at a complete loss, he didn’t know what was the cause of this behavior and apparently, there was no way to find out since the Oracle had gone completely mad with fury.
“That doesn’t mean shit” Yoongi sifted through his teeth. “I’ve come here for one purpose only - so Y/N can learn more about herself and the abilities in her possession, nothing more nothing less. Have I not followed all of your ridiculous rules and laws up until now?” He asked, leaning against the back of the armchair. The mint-haired demon couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that someone could even enter this land unnoticed. There existed two options - the creature being extremely skilled or the intruder had help from the inside.
Seething with anger the Leader sent one final look of disgust towards Baal and said “I will get to the bottom of it and if you had something to do with it, not even a hundred gods can save you.”
Sure of his innocence Yoongi smirked “Then I’m perfectly safe.” The cockiness didn’t sit right with Trophonius but before having the chance to answer Y/N came running inside.
“I saw something in the woods!” She looked so frightened and her whole body was covered in a cold sweat. Hearing those words everyone in the room got on high alert.
“Be specific, what did you see?” The Leader came closer to the girl grabbing her shoulders and Y/N’s distress flowed through the man at the same moment.
Shaking uncontrollably she couldn’t center herself. The peaceful time here was over and there was no denying it. This place was supposed to be safe and well protected. What was happening? Yoongi tried getting closer but Trophonius stopped him pushing the demon back. “Don’t come closer, she’s dangerous. Y/N listen to me, calm down, tell me - what did you see?”
Baal felt helpless and useless, what could he do for her now? The desire to hold the girl tight and stroke Y/N’s hair was painful now. “Let me hold her” he tried to plead with the Oracle but he didn’t pay any attention to a word the demon said. The other man was concerned only about this not turning bloody in some way - either this creature could bring disaster whatever it was or Y/N could lash out and lose control of the Spark while in a fight-or-flight situation. And none of the reasons looked good.
“Come on, focus” Trophonius stared into the woman’s eyes trying to reach her and get her out of this trance-like state. The girl’s consciousness appeared to be completely scattered, each part of rationality gone while only the primal instincts had stayed.
It took some time and a huge amount of effort but finally Y/N had managed to center herself and explain what was the this she had seen in the woods.
“It was not a “thing”. It was a person I’m sure of that.”
“What’s so perplexing about seeing a guy in the woods?” The Ace asked and from his point of view, she was just being paranoid and irrational.
“But…! You don’t understand!” The tricky part was explaining what exactly happened and the way it appeared to her because it was not an ordinary encounter like Oh yeah, there’s a person walking or standing there. Whatever. Because there were many people, oracles, roaming around. “Listen… at first I was just looking for a place to sit and study some runes outside. At first, nothing was out of the ordinary, some people were walking around doing their thing and then I felt it. It was like a… a stream of cold air and I saw a translucent figure lurking in the woods. No!” She stopped and clapped her hands in frustration. “No! This creature was not even in the forested space but in the opening. And the whole thing looked just unreal but after that…” her eyes stopped on Yoongi looking for some support and he provided, nodding encouragingly for her to continue. He had complete trust in the words Y/N spoke and didn’t doubt any of it for a second.
“If he was translucent how did you even see the man?” The Ace continued questioning the happening. Baal rolled his eyes, so much time spent on training her and still, the guy questioned the girl’s abilities even though he had seen what they could do.
“She is a Spark, her perception is not one of a human” Trophonius stopped the tutor from continuing. “Y/N, please continue.”
“When I got closer it felt like this creature turned into liquid… like” the woman was trying her best to find a logical way to explain but was at loss for words. “You know, at some point, it felt like if I had tried to use my power he could actually revert to his normal form.”
The Leader leaned forward “Why didn’t you do it?”
“I got too scared” she confessed.
“Understandable” the Oracle nodded.
At that point, Yoongi had heard enough to know what was going on. Rising from his seat he came forward with a stern look in his eyes. “This someone from Doordale or the Queen’s land.” Trophonius tilted his head, completely lost now.
“What do you mean? Why would someone from your land come here?”
“Reasons of state” the mint-haired demon shrugged, too tired to explain all the things that had happened the previous weeks. “And judging by the timing and the place he was seen my best bet is that the guy had some help from your people” Yoongi concluded. Those last words enraged the Leader.
“My people are not traitors!” his gruff voice tore the air and Y/N unintentionally stepped back. “Mind your tongue demon!”
Baal approached Y/N and placed his right hand on the girl’s waist. “It’s connected to her. Someone has found out that I got her here and they’re coming.”
Slamming his hands over the hand rests Trophonius stood up and stomping his feet furiously he got in Yoongi’s face. “I told you” the Oracle hissed “you bring only disaster and blood with you. And this girl here” he pointed one slim finger at Y/N “she’s not to blame for any of it! It’s all you, your Master and your nation! You know who is going to be collateral - her! And it’s on you, demon! There’s no one else to blame for this girl’s misfortune.”
Baal’s jaw clenched and Y/N could swear she had never seen the man look more dangerous than now. Half of his face slowly turned to crystal and the demon bared his teeth, growling coming from the center of his chest. “We came here so I can prevent her death. It’s bound to happen one way or another, there’s a prophecy. Agares found it recently.”
Y/N turned her head around to look at him. What the hell? Feeling the young woman’s eyes on him he nodded “Yes. In her world or ours she will die by an unknown hand. Jin had his reasons to insist for her to come here but I had mine too. I can’t lose her and surprisingly for you” spitting the words in the Oracle’s face Yoongi got even closer to the other man “we have sentiments towards some chosen individuals.”
Destructive guilt consumed Y/N. Her whole perception of things appeared to be wrong and the root of everything was her being here. The desire to run away and hide like a child was unbearable but that will bring nothing, it was completely pointless. With her head lowered she remembered the Hippocratic vow, was she doing the exact opposite now? Doing harm? “I’m so sorry” the woman whispered. Everyone turned to her “I didn’t mean to cause distress or whatever else. We should leave” looking up at Yoongi, her eyes were filled with tears.
“This is the safest place for you now,” Trophonius said coldly. He didn’t like the situation one bit but in order to prevent from losing the Spark that could bring light to the world and stop wars from happening, the Oracle couldn’t risk her dying.
Baal’s world was slowly shattering into million pieces looking at this worried sad face. He wanted to wrap the girl in a hug and embed her in his body so she could be protected. The demon was ready to fight hoards of monsters to keep Y/N alive. “We’re staying.” He said firmly. “We keep this on the low, for now I won’t inform Jin or the Kings. Depending on what’s going on we will proceed.”
The Oracle nodded in agreement, which was a rare occurrence by itself.
While walking to the capital Christopher was trying to put everything in order in his mind so he could give the most accurate representation of the things that had transpired since he entered the Oracles' land. Thanks to his mind power he never doubted himself and with this confidence everyone was saying his name with respect.
Jungkook was going to get so angry once he knew that the Queen had made her first move. Maybe the spy or someone else was going to become a buffer which gets the first wave of the King’s anger. Dark days were ahead.
Entering the palace he said to the valet he had an appointment and Mammon let him in immediately.
Bowing deeply he cut straight to the chase. “My King, I have some bad news.”
Jungkook was in his study, in the middle of signing new documents delivered to him by the Ministry. It was such a pain in the ass that he was happy to get rid of it for a while. Namjoon was supposed to bring some new law projects for the King of the North to look over and give his opinion but it could wait if this meeting was longer than expected. Pushing the bulk of papers aside he directed his attention to the spy.
“Is she okay?” was the first thing Mammon asked. Asmodeus was not sure how to respond to that.
“I don’t really know as of now, but the last I saw the woman she was… whole.”
Jungkook’s brows furrowed. What was that supposed to mean? The whole demeanor of the spy was somewhat questionable. In order for him to speed up things and not waste time, Chan urged the King to just look in his mind. Opening up the spy waited to feel the other demon’s presence which happened almost immediately. He seemed anxious and rigid. Did she mean so much to him? The spy didn’t have an answer to this question but given the attitude and behavioral pattern, it was kind of obvious now.
The scenes that played in Asmodeus’ mind caught the King by surprise but now things began making so much sense. Jungkook saw Y/N and Yoongi passing the border to the Land of the Oracles, her studying the runic language in the gazebo built on the edge of the cliffs, the Ace teaching the girl how to use the persuasion on the animals in the forest, then he saw her through the window of Yoongi’s room showing off her knowledge in the newly learned language. Another thing that shocked the King was how close the spy of the King was sitting to her in the woods and then the crisis - Y/N seeing the creature which to a naked untrained eye was just air but she saw him, standing there and watching her. Then the young woman ran in panic. Here the memories ended.
“I guess she went to tell Baal and the Leader of the oracles. I didn’t wait to see because my decision was to come straight here. I saw him.”
“You were not discovered I presume?” Mammon asked, his eyes piercing. Asmodeus was right, he was going to become furious now, it was just a matter of time before things went down. Shaking his head “no” the King exhaled, at least one thing was in order.
“My inside man helped me,” Chan reassured him.
“Good.”
Y/N was a Spark. It all made sense now, why Jin brought her here, the way Baal and Agares tried to protect her at all costs. Wrath was trying to win the war at all costs and who knows what more he had prepared. If Y/N’s powers were put to use in his favor the demon was going to be able to dethrone the four of them and take over. Those poisonous thoughts began eating away at Junkook’s mind. What was coming for them, he didn’t know. Now his main concern was to find a way to keep Y/N alive, prevent the therianthropes from entering the Oracle’s land and start mobilizing the legions.
“Fuck” he cursed balling his hands in fists and closing his eyes. What was the best course of action? Going to Jin to warn him and tell the demon about the doubts the King had or converse with the other three Kings and take a unanimous decision on what to do next? There was no way that Mammon could tell them straight, given the deal he made with Y/N long ago. The King of the North couldn’t risk losing his voice so he decided. “You will come with me and speak for me since I’m bound not to do so. I can’t tell the others about Y/N but you can.”
“Yes, my King.” The spy bowed, waiting for Jungkook to lead him to where they were supposed to go next.
“Thank you for the work you’ve done.” Opening the upper drawer of his desk Mammon gave Asmodeus another pouch full of golden coins.
The definition of “disaster” is the following:
an event that results in great harm, damage, or death, or serious difficulty.
Exactly what was happening right now. All the people included in this mess were running around trying to figure out how to deal with the oncoming catastrophe. Everything was even worse now because some knew one thing, while the others - something completely different. The main goal now was to get the facts straight, which was the hardest of all that was to come. Keep in mind that the past affected everyone taking part in this, the Kings keeping away from dealing with Yoongi and Jin, the latter holding grudges against the four, Y/N being completely in the dark, trying desperately to stay afloat among all the secrets and threats coming from every side and combined with all that was the anger that she was taken away from her world and thrown in the middle of this chaos.
A disaster at its finest.
The solvation to the problems was a nice long-due chat between all of them. It was time for everyone to lay their cards down on the table and own up to their faults and mistakes.
The Kings were reasonable demons, each one had their quirks but when the situation required it they could deal with it accordingly. It was true also that their sins were countless but under all that rationality existed and now was a good time to show it.
Jungkook was hoping for it.
Entering Corson’s wing of the palace with the spy on his heels he looked so glum. The guards saluted the King of the North and the people of the staff made way for him. There was this specific expression on Mammon’s face when something was bothering him or he was angry - the demon’s sharp jaw was usually clenched and his eyes were becoming hooded and unblinking. He looked like a statue at times like this, stiff and quiet, buried in his own thoughts just like now.
Now was a time when no one dared stand in King Mammon’s way and question his appearance. He was dressed in all black as per usual and his face and ears were decorated prettily with all kinds of jewelry - beauty incarnate. While walking he was going through the things he had planned to say to Namjoon over and over again. Then once he had informed him they had to call a meeting in secret with Jimin and Hoseok and later summon Jin and get everything straight. In order to do things the right way the demons had to consult with Taehyung, who Jungkook could bet his ass, that was in on it too since he seemed to be familiar with Y/N at the night of the feast.
Reaching the door to Noir’s he went straight in. The man was going over a log book of sorts in which the Kings were usually writing the duties performed during each day. Corson raised a brow in confusion as to who dared to enter without knocking but the moment he saw Mammon he visibly relaxed. Then Asmodeus appeared and this again soured Namjoon’s mood.
Pursing his full lips the King of the West stood up “What’s the meaning of this?” There it goes, his cute dimples got deeper and turned into lines that defined the demon’s high cheekbones. Christopher didn’t even flinch, he just straightened up waiting for the questions to come his way. Namjoon fixed the long black cloak that hung on his shoulder.
“I came because there’s something you should know and it concerns all of us, maybe even the whole Doordale.” Jungkook explained with a straight face, his mouth moving in a weird animated way. His frustration caught Corson’s eye.
“I’m guessing there’s something to do with your pretty princess” he placed a hand over his chin. Noir’s gaze was slowly shifting from Mammon to the spy waiting for some kind of explanation.
“That’s true.” Those words were so hard to say. The King of the North didn’t want to admit it but he had taken an interest in the girl who had a main role in this charade. Namjoon saw his friend’s memory of Y/N and him kissing in the room where he was usually painting. “She’s part of it but not by choice, I suspect that Agares orchestrated everything.”
Gesturing towards Chan to come forward, Mammon’s determination grew more and more. It was now or never. The demon said finally “We need to call the others and Asmodeus will tell you everything that we’ve found out up until now.”

“The moment I find out what you’d done I will mess you up badly.” Y/N taunted staring at the mint-haired demon. “And why the fuck you’re partially transformed?”
Yoongi rolled his eyes “What are you gonna do really? In the time you’ve spent with us in Doordale have you actually done something? Did you manage to use even a fraction of your power?”
He didn’t know what to expect exactly as an answer. It was more than clear that this young woman didn’t know how to use the Spark but her subconscious did. Baal wanted to be sure that the things between them were real.
“I don’t know. Maybe I did or didn’t. There’s no way I can be sure…” she trailed off. They entered the house once again. Y/N headed for the spacious veranda and sat down on the garden chairs. Reaching into the side pocket of the jean jacket she took out the pack of cigarettes. The demon followed just a few seconds behind.
“Y/N… you have to tell me. What’s on your mind?”
“I’ve got nothing to lose so fuck it.” She took a drag and started speaking while exhaling so the smoke was coming out in small puffs. “I don’t know what happened between us. You make me so confused and the thing is even Jin turned nicer to me than you.”
Yoongi leaned back in his chair running a hand through his hair. He knew this was coming because Y/N wasn’t blind or stupid. The frustration grew even more inside of the man. He was so conflicted with himself recently that he couldn’t stand it.
“I guess it’s because of me staying with the King. Maybe it’s because I told you about the things we did in the palace. I guess your jealousy and competitiveness are surfacing and it’s getting the best of you.” She was spot on. There was no way in hell he could share. Most of them were like that. Most of them…
Y/N wanted to get everything straight and clear where the two of them were standing because she hated this passive-aggressive behavior of his. The tension made the girl constantly on edge and weigh her words more than she should have. “So the question in order is - what happened to you and me? And before you blow off and tell me how you’re a demon and all that - I know. I don’t expect love, compassion, or something of the sort. What I want is to get an idea of what’s bothering you.
He bent over and placed his elbows on his knees then the demon’s long fingers intertwined. “I’m mad because you did things with me in the playroom then sometime later Jungkook invited you to the Northern Palace and you show up on his arm, then fucked him and shared quality time with him I suppose.” Baal laughed bitterly. This was so hard to express. He felt ridiculous and exposed. “I’m mad because the moment you came back I couldn’t feel this draw towards you and at the same time, you seemed distant.”
Here it comes…
Y/N raised the cigarette to her lips waiting patiently.
“I’m filled with jealousy and anger - towards you and towards Mammon. You forgot about me but apparently, you have a more meaningful bond with Agares. I see you two for the past few days, I’m not blind. It’s like you threw me back in some corner of your mind but you kept them two close.”
“Just say it. I know what you’re getting at.”
Yoongi was shocked to see Y/N’s face contorted in a nasty mocking half-smile which the girl didn’t even realize she had on. At the same time, the man switched to his usual “business” expression. Two could play this game…
Baal stood up and got closer to Y/N while bending over her slim figure. Their faces were a few centimeters apart. The demon looked scary from the side and if Y/N wasn’t in this state of hers maybe she would feel frightened too.
“You used your abilities to make me fall for you and then once you got away to the North the influence vanished because then you set your mind on the others - Jungkook and Jimin. The only explanation for my feelings, if you want to call them that way, is that you forgot about me then and there. The only thing you need is for the people around you to be swayed by you, to be ready to kill for you and think about this beautiful face of your in every waking hour.” The minty locks fell in his eyes but Y/N saw it - his irises vanished and once more just like in the beginning the crystal-like substance was taking over the tissue. “My question is - did you use the Spark’s power on me and Jin? And don’t lie to me because I’ll rip your vocal cords out.”
Y/N felt power coursing through her. She smiled sweetly and reached up to caress Yoongi’s cheek. “To tell you the truth I don’t know what I did, I guess my inner thoughts and desires come true after all. Nothing from what happened was intentional though” she was completely truthful now even though it seemed more like a joke, given the expression Y/N had on at the moment.
No movement on Yoongi’s side. He stood still, his eyes becoming slits. “I want to learn how to control the powers I have because apparently you or Jin took my life here away, without my consent.”
Y/N was conflicted it felt like a dark sticky substance was pouring over her heart and the light inside her was vanishing. “I hate you for taking away my life.” She stated and grabbed the man’s neck dragging him closer to her. “But from what I see I still need all of you to get my shit back on track…”
Something was really wrong and Baal could feel it with every cell in his body. He tore her hand away and straightened up. “What happened to you…?” He asked not expecting an answer.
“You,” Y/N said in a sharp tone taking out another cigarette.
“Let me rephrase my question - have you heard either of them saying where they will take her?” Jungkook asked Christopher who was leaning on one of the pillars in the solar room.
The spy was here to inform the King of his recent discoveries and he found Mammon in the middle of a chess game with Taehyung.
“No. The only thing I saw was Baal taking the woman in the forest away from the mansion and then they passed through a portal. I have no clue where it was leading.”
“Aren’t you a useless one” the General mused while making his move. Asmodeus didn’t seem to care one bit about the comment though.
The air was tense between the King and the spy. “You know why I sent you and yet… the audacity to come back with nothing. I have the desire to cut you open. Don't you understand that I need her?”
“At least let me change my body I really like Chris here.” The spy smiled once more and his dimples showed.
Gaap still couldn’t see why all the others were so set on having this woman close. She was bringing only misfortunes and destruction based on what he knew up until this point. For one he was happy to be away on duty and not tangled in those pointless intrigues and fights over the human girl.
Of course, the demon would be lying if he said that he had never felt drawn towards Y/N during their practice. In his long years of studying and expeditions, Taehyung had read about, seen and talked with many people of different nations and only two stood of them out to him now in his memory…
But then “I don’t think you’re doing the right thing here.” He turned to Jungkook.
The King raised his pierced brow in disbelief. “And why is that?”
“Just my thoughts” the General smiled sideways giving a subtle hint that he needs some time alone with Mammon.
Moving his knight right in front of Jungkook’s he kept his bishop secure. Taehyung’s smile widened even more.
“Just do what I told you to,” the King said looking at the board. “If there’s something important come to me, if not keep away. I don’t want others to know of my deals.” Reaching in his robe’s pocket the tattooed demon retrieved a pouch full of golden coins and tossed it to Christopher. The spy bowed deeply as always and smiled at the other man.
Once the door closed from the other side Jungkook’s eyes slowly lifted, finding Gaap’s. Both of them stood unmoving sizing each other for a few seconds. “Tell me.” The King urged his opponent.
“I have my suspicions about Y/N. Since I’ve yet to confirm any of them I will keep it to myself but I will tell you this - you should forget about her for a while. Throw this woman in the deepest corners of your mind and keep her there. If or when she comes back don’t send for her, just do your thing and let her be.”
The King of the North was completely lost in the other’s words. The two options were - one he wanted for someone else to benefit or two - the General was truly helping him in some way. “Explain because I’m about to…” trying to ground himself Jungkook exhaled slowly. They were so close, there was no way that Taehyung would try to fuck him over… right?
“I think that she’s doing something to you. Somehow… You haven’t been interested in a woman for decades now. What happened so suddenly?”
“I just want what the others want. Jin and Yoongi have her and I want to take Y/N away from them, she’s so… ugh. Don’t you get it? There’s something so enticing about this girl and if they have it I want it.”
Gaap shook his head. This was a pure obsession. Jungkook seemed frantic and the General doubted that he could resist the urge to find Y/N and have her.
“I can hear your thoughts you know” Mammon reached for his king but then stopped. “Jimin wants Y/N so bad too. I’ve seen the way he drinks her figure with his eyes. I hope you’re not doing this on Aamon’s behalf because if that’s so we will have a huge problem.”
They looked at each other once more.
The whole situation was reaching deeper than Taehyung had expected. He couldn’t do much about Jimin as of now but he could help Jungkook and in the process get to the bottom of it. He was a patient man and was sure that in time things will unfold one by one and his closest friends will find out the truth about this syren called Y/N.
The dispute between Y/N and Yoongi left them in the middle of nowhere, each one silently doing their own thing around the house until the time to leave came.
The demon was sure that something dark was brewing inside of the young woman. He could feel her aura changing shapes and color. It wasn’t a decisive change, at least not yet. In his opinion, a good way to ask didn’t exist either. Their relationship was partially ruined due to the fights and the demonic soul residing inside of him wouldn’t let Yoongi apologize or feel sorry for what he did.
Y/N was feeling sorry though. She felt guilty for telling Jungkook some of their secrets and for lying to Yoongi and Jin but there was no helping it. Maybe Mammon was right after all and her soul was getting tainted and turning dark and demonic like theirs. It was so scary to even think about the possibility of becoming this dark creature so the girl set her mind on becoming a Spark like her ancestors and escape the nasty predictions of Jungkook.
Traveling to the land of the Oracles was more exhausting than all the previous passings through the portals. Baal explained it was because their land was protected by countless spells and incantations so no one was able to find it and come and go as they please.
“Then what about us?”
“We’re special” he winked playfully at her. “To be frank - Jin managed to negotiate for them to take you here, he cut a juicy deal with the leader. The people of this place don’t like us. If there was a way… no demon would be alive and the Oracles would personally see to it.”
A long, long time ago the two species were living their separate lives, unothered by one another. The Oracles were always striving to maintain peace but the demons were just as they’re now - cruel, relentless, leading wars and shedding blood wherever they go. It all came down to a moment when one of the wars led by Leviathan reached the border with the Oracles’ land. The people there fought bravely and managed to drive the invaders out but many lives were lost. The casualties were countless that was why the current-then-leader of the Oracles gave an order to erase their country from the maps and make the borders impenetrable. Many precautionary measures were taken so the citizens would be safe and sound while avoiding getting caught up in the middle of conflicts between some of the other nations.
"I have no idea what Jin offered them but it must be worth it because they've accepted you to be here." Y/N stated while looking around. The people here were not paying any attention to her and Yoongi. In Doordale someone would occasionally bow and greet Yoongi while walking the streets while in the land of the Oracles he was a no-one.
"You're quite right," the demon told her. "But you know I don't mind being here. It's like the vacations you humans go on from time to time."
"Why? I thought you like what you do?" A tall woman with long white hair bumped into Y/N's shoulder but continued down the street like nothing had happened.
"Don't have much of a choice really. Most of the things I do are Jin's responsibilities but… oh well." He smiled humorlessly "I could have become much more but I defied my father long ago, centuries ago. Being here feels like pure freedom, it's like tons of load being lifted off my shoulders."
Y/N felt sorry for the demon. Each time he began telling the girl a story her heart was becoming heavy with sorrow. What was it like to live close to forever yet still having to abide by someone else's orders and kneel down?
Freedom is something apparent-only isn't it? Everyone strives for it but no one really gets it, as sad as it is. Don't you think it's actually funny? "You change so fast" Baal mused while walking. "A few hours ago you were ready to rip my head off and now you've become all empathetic."
Y/N rolled her eyes already annoyed by the comment. That was the thing about her - she could be understanding, nice and sympathetic up until the moment someone called her out on it. Then caught in the act the young woman always became defensive and snappy. Her closest friends knew this and were never noting it, just enjoyed the soft and caring side of Y/N. Yoongi had so much more to learn about her.
"The fact that you did some shit doesn't stop me from feeling sorry for your non-existent pitiful soul." The sad look still lingered in the girl's eyes and tone. "I'm still waiting for the answer to my question and am still tempted to burn your balls for lying to me." The man opened his mouth to argue but she yelled at him "don't even try to tell me you didn't do such a thing! Fucking liar…" she trailed off getting back into her own world.
"Don't give me that look" Yoongi interrupted Y/N's train of thoughts. "All things considered I don't mind living this kind of life" the man smiled widely and took her hand. "Here" the new road led to a castle-like structure built inside of a mountain. "We still have a long way to go as you see but I hope you can endure the one-on-one time with me for a while longer."
The young woman rolled her eyes and pushed the mint-haired demon "such a drama queen. An audience I guess is next on the list?"
"Yup."
"When does the training begin?"
"That's up to their leader.  Oh and keep in mind that those creatures don’t talk much."
Y/N laughed out loud. “You don’t talk much either!”
Later on in the mountain castle they were greeted with cold stares and dead silence. Y/N walked beside Baal confidently. It reminded her of the exams in the university - the professors and the assistants always gave the students annoyed or haughty looks from “up above”. While they were presenting their cases and answering questions the people in front of them were constantly quiet appearing judgy so this situation was familiar to her.
In the throne room there were many guards standing on the sides or at least Y/N thought they were guards. For the record they didn’t look like that at all - the people were dressed in long white tunics with silvery belts from which hung small daggers. There were no armors, no spears or swords to speak of. Their long hair was braided down reaching the men’s waists. The woman concluded that was because they usually used some type of magic and not raw power in a fight.
“Welcome,” a deep gruff voice greeted the two. A chill ran down Y/N’s spine. That was the leader of the land. He sounded so manacing. She didn’t expect this man to sound like that looking at this finely sculptured face.
After a bit of back and forth between him and Yoongi she felt the hate the demon spoke about earlier. The leader wasn’t happy about Y/N being here too. “She’s a breach, even more than you.” He had sifted through his teeth while giving the newcomer a once-over.
“She is a Spark and we don’t have anyone to train her” the demon explained.
“My question is why this woman is even in this realm? I can sense her dormant powers. Why are you trying to wake those abilities? It could bring the end times if used wrongly.” The oracle exhaled annoyed. “But I remember you and your Master - you and this General brought disaster to us.”
He is talking about the war - Y/N thought trying to come up with something to back up the mint-haired demon. Then it dawned on her. “That’s why I’m here - so a catastrophe can be prevented.”
The leader tilted his head to the side in confusion when he heard Y/N speaking and then the walls began vibrating when the man started laughing. “You’re such a lost girl.” She sensed the danger coming swiftly her way. The oracle got up and in an instant was standing in front of her. Baal tensed up and became defensive, his body beginning to transform from his hands up.
“Ease up you demon scum” he roared, his eyes flashing brightly in Yoongi’s direction. Then he turned back to Y/N looking down. Just then the young woman noticed how tall he actually was, maybe about 6’5… Damn. “The best question of all is - once again - why are you here? Did those monsters bring you here by force? Did they lie to you about some interdimensional threat? Or maybe made you choose between coming here or taking your life?”
Y/N searched for Yoongi’s eyes and when they met he looked so sad and guilty. He was tripping back into her loop.
“That’s pretty self-explanatory” the oracle concluded. He looked at her triumphantly then continued with unmasked satisfaction “You’re dangerous. None of your ancestors are alive now and we have a little understanding of how your powers are working.” The man turned around and began walking back to his throne slowly while speaking. “I feel the uncertainty running through your veins so I can offer you two options and whatever you choose it should be final because if your mind is not made up there’s nothing to be done.”
Yoongi’s breath hitched once more. He feared that she will leave for good and he wouldn’t be able to find her. The oracles’ nation was pretty good at doing that.
Y/N straightened up and nodded in determination.
“Very well,” the tall man said and continued talking while taking big slow strides. “One - you stay, under our laws and guidance we teach you everything we know about the Spark and the abilities in your possession.” He smiled sourly at his thoughts. “Of course I can’t make you promise that those powers will be used for good only because I know it will be a lie - after all you have a human soul living in you due to all those ears spent in your dimension. Two - we wipe all your memories of ever being here, I can restore the things you lost from your world and make you forget about the mess those monsters got you into.”
This time Y/N didn’t have any doubts, she was sure that there were things those people can teach her and help her understand her hidden self. Another thing the woman believed was that once she got the grips of those ancient powers there wasn’t anything that couldn’t be done - including getting her old life back.
Without hesitation she said “I’m staying.”
“Very well. The guards will show you to your room and give you details on how we will proceed.”
After a few hours all the instructions were given to Y/N and Baal. He was not to interfere in any way during the training - the most important rule to follow was that. Another thing expected from Y/N was for her not to use the powers on the citizens or the higher-ups in any way. The guard told her that in the beginning there are going to be more “theoretical lessons” than “practical” ones. That was fine by itself because the basic understanding of how things worked was going to give her more opportunities to “upgrade” later on.
“Am I going to be safe here?” She asked the guard when he turned to leave.
“There is no safer place than here” he reassured her in a stone-cold tone.
“One more thing… please.”
“Yes?”
“Can I tell your leader something confidential?” The man seemed unsure but nodded.
“I will inform you after dinner.” With that he closed the door.
Apparently, the leader was intrigued by Y/N’s request to speak privately with him so the man granted her wish.
“Can I trust you?” She asked while sitting in a room paneled with white marble. A huge fireplace was lit in the center of the northern wall. The fire was making the shadows dance on the walls. “No, wait. Let me paraphrase - can I trust you that this will stay between us only? No one should know.”
“Yes,” the man immediately answered, his green eyes fixed on Y/N. “Oh and one more thing before you begin - my real name is Trophonius. I’m telling you because I bet the demon didn’t tell you my name. I expect you to address me by this name.”
“Of course, Trophonius. So…”
Y/N decided that in order to unlock the full potential of what was inside of her she should tell the oracle everything that had happened until now. The girl told him about the dream she had had weeks back about the man who was changing faces and taunting her. For the young woman this dream was still a mystery. She also told Trophonius what she knew about the powers to this point, which frankly said was close to nothing.
The man was listening patiently, paying attention to even the smallest details - it was crucial if he wanted all of this to be successful. “There’s something you’re reluctant to share” he noted. “You’re dwelling on the smallest things but not getting to the main point. What’s the this that’s troubling you?”
Then all Hell came loose… Y/N went on with the story of what she saw at Jungkook’s palace in the mirror on a faithful morning. The ink-like black shiny stains on her mouth and neck, the interpretation of the King, how it all seemed to connect to the dream from before about her true identity coming to light. Y/N seemed so scared that the oracle offered her a glass of his milky-white liquor. She took it gladly and after taking a generous sip of the sickly sweet beverage the woman continued. “I’m scared that I’ll become a demon. What if it’s true? What is going to happen to my soul if I taint it and become a monster like them? Is this even possible to be this Spark being and a demon at the same time? Isn’t it impossible? They are completely different. The exact opposites.”
Trophonius exhaled loudly and his face for the first time since they met became different - troubled and worried.
“Follow me.”
He stood up and Y/N followed.
After what felt like hours he unlocked a massive golden door and entered a huge hall that had so many floors and bookshelves that it almost seemed endless. The man called one of the librarians and told her something in a different language, she noted and disappeared in a flash.
“Give her a few seconds.”
She was back just as fast and handed him an old-looking grimoire. Y/N was still overwhelmed by the interior of this place to even notice what was happening but Trophonius’ voice calling her name brought her back. “Come.”
The two approached a glass table and he placed the book down carefully. “This is a gift from the nation of the Spark to my grandfather. They have written here some prophecies that after you’ve told me your story are starting to make sense now.”
The pages were filled with pictures and text that was in an unknown language like everything here and were apparently telling a story.
“Listen carefully now” he began while showing a particular drawing of a baby, partially covered in bright light and on the other side - in shadow. “This here is an old tale of a forbidden union between two nations - as you can guess - the Spark and the demons. They conceived a child but since it was a half-blood and that was a forbidden deed they had to give it up and keep this a secret.” Y/N was stunned and unable to speak. Her eyes were as big as saucers while taking in the information becoming more and more scared with each passing minute. Trophonius turned the page.
It had two pairs of hands holding the baby high. Below the child was a dark blood red color and above it blue and white space with yellow rays of light. “The safest place to leave the child was in the human world, even if that meant for the parents to die and never see their baby again. They erased every record of this ever happening and the demon mother killed almost everyone who knew of their union.”
“Then…” Y/N rasped “how is this even here?”
“Only the scribe who made this book of prophecies was left alive so if the child ever finds its way here even in a dream to know of it’s origin. Then…” he showed the young woman the following page. “Big war followed soon after because the King of the demons found out that the mother, who was a renowned strategist in Doordale had done this unforgivable deed. According to all resources, the parents are dead and none is known about their kid.” He stopped and turned to look at Y/N expecting to see understanding in the girl’s eyes.
Shaken to the core of her being she was planted firmly to the ground, unmoving. “You want to tell me…” the whisper was so quiet that it was barely descernable “that I am… a demon?”
“According to what you’ve told me and this here - partially - yes.” Trophonius’ voice was just as flat as before. “But I think that’s not final. From what I know this is debatable, given the fact you are a half-blood. Depending on your actions your soul can take a different path - the goor or bad, simply said.”
Her whole life was falling apart by the second. Her mom and dad were not Y/N’s real parents, the life she believed was hers up to this point was a complete lie. The question was why all those years they didn’t say a single word, nor did her grandmother?
Is it possible that their memories were altered all those years ago just like Monica’s, Lucas’ and Felix’?
“Is there… a place where I can see the faces of my parents?” she asked finally, after a long pause.
For a while the oracle was quiet, thinking. “About your father… I’m not sure but in Doordale there should be a drawing of your birthmother somewhere.” Before being able to say anything Y/N cut him off.
“Wait! Wait…” the confusion was great now. “When did this happen exactly?”
“Oh, centuries ago.”
“Then this baby is not me,” Y/N said exhaling loudly.
“Keep in mind that the time here and in the human realm flows differently.”
This was getting just too much. The information was pouring over her in this impossible amount to be even slightly comprehensible.
“But that slowly?! I’m in my twenties!”
He nodded slowly and sympathetically placed a hand on Y/N’s shoulder. “That’s completely possible. Stay focused.”
Tears rolled down her face, burning her cheeks. Overwhelmed she grabbed fistfuls of hair squeezing it. Her voice rose, rippling through the quietness of the library. The wail was agonizing and painful.
“Come with me” the oracle tried grounding her but the young woman’s screams became louder. “The demon will get alerted if you don’t stop that.”
“I-I… I” Y/N whined through tears “I… can’t tell h-him! You! You can’t tell him!”
“I will not” the leader reassured her as he did in the beginning. He was trustworthy but blinded by desperation.
“He can’t know! N-no one can know!”
Trophonius was afraid that her powers will get out of control if she got any more agitated. Sometimes it was normal to happen to all magical creatures if their emotions became too strong. To prevent the worst from happening he extended his left hand and touched Y/N’s forehead sucking the overflowing burst of energy out of her body.
Immediately her body became limp and she lost consciousness.
“She is so strong…” he uttered trying to channel the gathered energy evenly throughout his own body.
Southern Doordale, King Aamon’s residence
“She left with Yoongi.”
“That’s none of my concern…” Jimin huffed while looking at his cards.
Jungkook laughed sarcastically. “I know you’re drawn to her at least as much as I am. I know you pretty well” they locked eyes across the table. “The thing is - I know you saw me and her in the garden that night.”
Jimin was taken aback by the statement but the King of the North added lightheartedly with a wave of his hand “I’m not mad. You know I’m willing to share my all with you if we’ve talked about it.”
“That’s not the point…”
They were playing cards for a while now while sitting in the steam room of the palace. The white towels wrapped around their hips were loose, tiny droplets of sweat rolling down their soft skin. Jungkook was losing this spread but that didn’t bother him in the slightest.
“Then what is?”
Concern was written all over Jimin’s angel-like features. “Baal and Agares are enamored by her too. If she gets to spend time with the rest of us the others will be too I’m sure…” he was reluctant to continue but did. “Can you imagine the severity of the problems it could bring with it?”
Jungkook’s face was expressionless. “We’re not savages.”
“But there’s something about her that’s making me vicious and… maybe a higher power or a spell or I don’t know what.”
“And you can’t stop it” Mammon stated knowingly.
His companion nodded in agreement, sharing the same emotion. “So you’ve felt it too.”
“I did.”
The situation felt like a double-edged blade. On one side Jimin was not alone and was sharing the same sentiment with his brother. This by itself was good. You all know that a pain you share with someone close is a consolation to some extent but then… On the other - the silver-haired demon knew there was something hidden in the shadows that is gonna hurt like motherfucker if not taken care of soon.
“Don’t worry, you Chan. I’ve sent him to keep an eye out for anything unusual.”
“Chan as… Christopher? Asmodeus, the spy?”
“The same.”
Aamon stirred uncomfortably in his seat placing another card on the table. “He’s back? Since when?”
“The first day of the feast.”
Jimin hummed deep in thought.
“So I see. Keep me in the loop and if you need my help - you know I always have your back.”
During the next few days Y/N became calmer with the help of an oracle who was teaching her how to stabilize her emotions and coach her mind. It was a long and tough process in which Yoongi was not included.
The poor demon was shunned by the staff of the palace and kept at a distance from the girl. She missed him in her own way. From time to time her thoughts strayed during training in a different direction - was he feeling lonely, did he miss her too, what was the demon doing? Yoongi on the other hand was occupying his brain with trying to come up with new strategies for the upcoming battles. When he was taking a break Baal was reading books from the bookshelf in his room. All of this was done in an effort to distract himself so he doesn’t lose his mind over Y/N once more like when she was with Jungkook.
At night they were having dinner together but he was sitting further from the leader and he and the medical student were having short non-productive conversations, small talk to be precise. She wasn’t sharing almost anything from the training, only the superficial small things and the general progress - that’s what Trophonius told her to do. It was how it was supposed to be until her time in this land came to an end. The leader didn’t want the demon interfering.
A few days later while the “teacher” oracle was talking with Y/N their leader entered the chamber. “Hello, Y/N. Nice to see you taking this seriously.”
“Good to see you, Trophonius. What is it?”
He invited another tall man in and introduced him to her. “This is the Ace. He is a man of many talents and he is going to take on your training from tomorrow.”
“What are we going to do?”
“Testing your powers in an actual situation. Small tests, on short-term things.”
She bowed her head to him and the new man did the same. “You will see. I will take it easy, don’t worry.” His voice was soft and uplifting. “Oh, and I will teach you the basics of our language and rune magic if you can pull it off.”
“Okay. Thank you” she smiled and extended a hand to him. The man seemed confused but took it nonetheless. Y/N shook it and her smile stayed for a while. “This is what we do in my world. We shake on something as an agreement and so on.”
“I can learn something from you too I see.”
The leader was pleased to see this. The woman was becoming used to the people here, her energy flow felt steady with sudden spikes like when she first arrived. “I can sense your progress, this is good. The outcome can be on the positive side. You get it.”
Y/N nodded in a calm but happy manner.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The simple question “Should I do it?” was tormenting Jin. On one side stood the desire to protect his men and fellow brothers in arms and on the other - the unhealthy possessiveness and dismorphed love for Y/N drove him to insanity. Agares wondered if he could have both. He also asked himself if the intel he would get from Asmodeus was trustworthy enough to trade away his secrets. There was only one way out of this…
Lie.
Do it as convincingly as possible. Mask his thoughts as subtly as the demon could do it and lie.
“Let’s see how far we can go.”
“I guess it’s way more important for me to protect the legions. I cannot afford to kill the troops because of a woman who I’m not even sure can help me.”
Christopher smiled sideways. His face was so handsome and the corners of his eyes scrunched cutely. “I knew you’re a reasonable man.”
The silence that followed was for Jin to clear his mind and weigh the things that were going to come out of his mouth. Here goes nothing.
“You know I’m in a difficult situation those past few months. The war is draining me and my men. So I did what I could and decided to take the actions needed for me to succeed.” The spy was listening carefully with a flat expression. “I gathered that there was a woman in our world with powers great enough to help me win this ridiculous war. I didn't know how to find her, nor where she was. I've heard only legends. Then one day a few weeks ago this girl stumbled here unexpectedly. Turns out, keep in mind this was Y/N, that the woman was some kind of a long disowned princess. During her years of wandering she learned medicine. Her skills are quite impressive by the way." Jin smiled at Christopher. It was getting easier to lie and believe the story the more he told it. "Maybe the stories are true. Y/N seems extraordinary. Her aura and presence is quite impressive. You should see how the people around her behave once she steps on the scene. If it turns out to be her - the one with special abilities it will be more than perfect. We will be able to utilize her. The need for the girl is great. The war will end in our favor and then…" Agares inhaled with a wishful expression. "I want them to see me and recognize my capabilities.” Jin got quiet after saying that. There was more truth in his words than he even realized.
The other demon was expecting more to come but it didn’t. He stood there expectantly, fingers crossed under his chin. “So what? I didn’t think you were that desperate for the Kings to start liking you again” Asmodeus laughed mockingly. He began doubting Agares’ words almost immediately.
“I’m not doing all of that so they can praise me. I do it because I deserve a better position, recognition and a higher status” he retorted. Was it even worth it to build another string of lies for this ass? Jin was getting more and more irritated.
“So petty and greedy” Christopher laughed again.
“Oh! Sorry! I didn’t know you are with the moral police” Jin bit back and his black eyes rolled back. “The question is why do you care about my plans and motives? Another thing is who sent you here and the last one - why the hell do you wanna know about her?”
Yoongi stood completely still and quiet in the next room listening to the two men. He hoped that the conversation won’t go sideways because of Jin’s temper. If he played his cards right they would finally be able to know who was after them and why.
“Too soon don’t you think?” Christopher tilted his head to the side. “You gave me nothing and expect everything from me in return. Not fair.”
“Excuse me?”
“What do you know about her? Where does she come from?”
“Our world I told you.” So much annoyance was laced in Agares’ words but that didn’t sway the spy for even a second.
“Sure about that? Because it seems to me that she could actually be from further away or-”
“You know well enough that magic and otherworldly abilities can be found not only here” Jin noted, adopting a stern look.
“Yes I know but still this seems way too suspicious. Don’t you think she can turn out to be some mighty being that will destroy everyone around her and ruin your plan?” Asmodeus continued prying into Jin’s mind. With all those questions he searched for some picture or a scene in his head revealing things that were well hidden. Nothing. Everything the Master said was playing exactly the same in his mind.
“How many lame questions are you going to ask?” Jin snorted. “You sound exactly like Noir. He gets on my nerves usually and so do you.”
The spy leaned in the armchair. “You sound calmer than before. You’ve changed and yet you’re the same.” Why was that said exactly for? Agares’ expression became that of pure confusion. Excuse me?
“Uhm…” he laughed awkwardly “maybe the war has rendered me retarded but I’m at a loss here. Why did you come here? To talk about my character or share intel? We’re not besties or something of the sorts.”
Christopher sighed. Here we go again. “Forget it. Every time I start to think that I can actually talk with you, you prove me wrong.” The demon ran a hand through his hair in a defeated manor. “Let’s get done with this. I see you don’t know much about her which is a shame. I thought there’s something going on behind the scenes, some venomous plot against the Kings or the Ministry. Apparently not…” Asmoseus’ eyes narrowed in Jin’s direction, still trying the demon. “I think it’s best if you find more information about the woman. You remember the Spark?”
Keep it down. Clean…
“What? The Spark? They’re all dead” Jin stated as matter-of-factly. “Decades ago.”
Christopher shook his head. “Apparently not.” The demon straightened up and leaned over, placing his hands on his knees, ready to share his knowledge. The spy trusted almost no one but he and Agares went way back. They hated each other but also the spy had some weird brotherly feeling in the pit of his stomach towards him. If you ask the man he would never be able to explain it… His training and readiness to die rather than share whatever he knew, were gone the moment he heard the wrong statement about the faith of this legendary nation. He had to enlighten his brother…
“I talked with a lot of people the past few years while I was on missions. Many of them unwillingly shared with me that there are only a few left of them still alive. Some in the human world, some in our world but well hidden and protected. Their powers are very dangerous if not controlled…”
Jin frowned. Ridiculous… “So you want to tell me that this useless girl, who fell the other day in the bath and almost broke her ankle could be one of them?” The Master laughed theatrically. “Not possible.”
The spy felt offended. “We’ll see about that.”
Silence followed. Agares called for the servants to pour them a glass of liquor. “Look, I told you whatever you wanted to know. Now I don’t care much about your suspicions about her. I want you to tell me about my men.”
“Boring” at those words Jin sent a death glare the spy’s way. “Okay, okay. You know the two inns, facing each other that’re next to the crossroad with the six paths?” The other demon nodded. “So the Queen sent a considerable number of her whores there long ago. Those women roam the streets in that region too. They have some weird potions that mess with your head once you drink or smell it.”
“So that’s it.”
It was Asmodeus’ turn to nod now. “Some of the men who are frequent there from the legions were poisoned, let's say.”
“They… who are they? How many?” He hoped it wouldn't be a big number.
The spy laughed. A nice and warm sound in contrast with his personality. “You have a huge amoun of men in your command, Master.” The silence on Jin’s end along with the sour look on his face made the spy to just move on. “Twenty-seven soldiers from the ninth legion, fifteen from the twenty-fifth and thirty-nine from the fourth.” He then proceeded telling Jin the names of the demons who were as he said “poisoned”.
Agares exhaled loudly and rubbed his temples with a weary expression. “What the fuck… so apparently their dicks got me in this mess.” He downed his glass in one go and got up. “If that’s all I would like you to leave. There are things I need to prepare and come up with a plan.”
Christopher hummed in agreement and rose to his feet. The two shook hands and the spy left without another word.
“So many people” Yoongi seemed more glum than usual. “What are we gonna do? We don’t have that many people to fill the empty spaces.”
“We can’t leave them in the cohorts. They will corrupt the others and turn against us.” Jin was looking outside in the garden where Y/N was sitting on a bench with her personal maid. “This might spread. From what Asmodeus told me it’s like a disease. If you inhale that potion or drink it then you’re done for. No antidote, nothing can reverse it’s effect.”
Baal turned to another page of the book he was looking at. “I can’t even find something that resembles the description of it.”
“You won’t. Those are written by men from our land.”
Yoongi nodded saddened. “We have to lock them up and present new rules to the soldiers.”
Agares came to stand next to his closest companion. “No going to the inns for the time being, no whores if not from a known and checked place, no going out alone. We need a witness if something happens. The troops need to move in groups of three or four.”
“Understood.” Yoongi closed his read and placed it back on the shelf. “I will pass it on to the commanders.”
“Do it. I will talk to her.”
A while later Jin walked out of the mansion.
“Hey. We need to talk” the demon said once he reached Y/N. She turned around calmly.
“You know when someone hears that in the human world it only means the worst.” She smiled wistfully.
There was something so sad yet poetic of hearing this simple sentence here. It reminded the young woman of the life she not so long ago had. Apparently behavioral and attitude patterns transcended dimensions and… species.
The Master continued to stand behind her with a flat expression plastered on his face. “We have huge problems with the man-power in my legions. Maybe in other’s too.”
“So?”
“You need to go away for a while so you’re not harmed.”
Y/N didn’t react. She just stood quiet looking at the small forest ahead of her. “Won’t you say something?” Jin asked.
“What am I supposed to say? To say that I’m happy that I will leave? There is no way in hell that any of you will just let me go and let me be. Or maybe cry that I want to stay here and be with you? No. That won’t happen either. I’m just accepting that no one thinks about what I really want but you all try to decide instead of me.” The young woman ran a hand through her hair in frustration then turned to face the broad-shouldered demon. “So to answer your question - I won’t say shit because it won’t matter.”
Agares narrowed his eyes at the girl weighing the options. Truth be told a few weeks ago he was definitely going to say that it didn’t matter to him what she wanted but now was a different story.
“Okay let’s say I care” he circled the bench and sat close to her. “Where do you want to go?”
Y/N laughed sarcastically. “So you can say no in the end? Thanks but no thanks.”
“Tell me” he demanded softly.
“You know how hard it was for me to get into that university? The exams, the preparations before that, the sleepless nights? I guess you don’t.” When Jin tried to interfere she shushed him with a wave of her hand. “I struggled in so many ways that you can’t even imagine. Then during my studies I enjoyed every part of it - the lectures, the shifts in the hospitals, the knowledge you get. So many people around me and all of them were good to me.”
The memories were painful now because Y/N thought that maybe she had lost it all. The demon noticed the melancholy creeping on her features. He didn’t know how to react or what to do.
“I want to be a doctor, I want to be with my friends. Another thing I didn’t think I would miss is being buried in big fat textbooks and notes taken down during classes but I do. To answer you question - I wish I could go back home, away from this dark life here and intrigues.” Y/N got up and walked away from the bench, her back turned to the dark-haired man.
“Y/N…” he sounded lost and hopeless now. “I can’t protect you there. If someone finds you not me, neither Yoongi will be able to help you. It will be extremely hard to find you if someone kidnaps you.”
She turned and raised a brow in the demon’s direction. “Why would anybody want to kidnap me? I doubt that the Kings have anything of that sort in mind.”
Jin shook his head. “Not them. Some other people know about you.”
“What? Who knows about me and what exactly do they know?”
“The night of the feast many of the high-ranking guests were onto you. Some of them even knew about the abilities you possess.” Y/N’s eyes widened in horror but Agares waved his hands defensively. “Not in the literal sense. Some of the commanders and ministers knew there was something special about you and tried to get it out of me while we talked. Another thing that happened was meeting Doordale’s best spy the same night.”
He then told her everything that happened then. The young woman couldn’t believe his words. “I never wanted any part of this! I was happy living my ordinary life and you dragged me in this shit-show!” She was screaming at the top of her lungs, hands shaking, eyes watering. “Now my life’s in danger! What am I supposed to do?!”
Y/N could feel the eyes of the staff on her, looking through the windows of the mansion, others peeking behind the trees - guards, maids, gardeners and so on. None of that mattered though. Not now.
“I tried to protect you! That’s why I lied!” Jin shouted back at her, getting to his feet too. “I needed information that’s why I shared some too but most of it was a lie!”
“It doesn’t matter! Now someone is most probably coming for me!” She threw her hands in the air. “I’m a mere human! I can’t control my powers, can’t fight, I don’t even know who to look out for!”
Trying to stay as calm as possible Jin came closer to Y/N and placed his big hand on the girl’s shoulder. “That’s why if you wanna have a piece of all the action we can make it happen.”
She raised a brow and scoffed.
“What does that mean exactly?”
“Everyone can hear you even from the other dimension.” Yoongi approached slowly. “Stop shouting and come inside so we can explain and find a solution to this ridiculous situation.” He was cold and his voice was as flat as a floorboard.
The other two looked at him in disbelief but headed inside.
For some reason Baal was a 180-degrees-different. Y/N was listening intently but other thoughts were clogging her head. What exactly made the man so stiff and distant? It reminded her of the time before he revealed his true identity.
“You have three options,” the minty-haired demon said. The young woman wondered why was he partly transformed. “One - we can send you to a place where the Oracles live. They can teach you the ways of your people. Those people know it all and have seen many things. Keep in mind they’re hundreds of years old and someone can tell you who are your parents.”
“This is the best option in my opinion” Jin chimed in nodding his head, his hair trembling slightly.
“Secon one” the other demon continued without paying any attention to the remark, “a bit useless but still an option - to go and stay with King Mammon.” Y/N began laughing maniacally.
“What the fuck is that option? I thought none of you favored the ma-... the demon I mean.”
“Well, he has taken a keen interest in you and maybe he can do a splendid job protecting you - something me and Agares can’t do well because we have to be on the battlefield.” She expected the shorter demon to get upset or angry about this but he didn’t. How she wanted Yoongi to be sad for her to leave. Baal winced for a second while looking at her. “The King maybe knows something about you which we don’t. You spent some quality time with the man from what I’ve seen.”
The Master rolled his eyes and spoke again. “I don’t like this one even one bit but Yoongi was adamant we tell you this. I-”
“It. Does. Not. Matter. What. You. Want.” Baal enunciated each word slowly with a loud voice. “So the third and final one - you can go home. Forget about us. We can make you disappear with a spell and the trackers of our world won’t be able to find you-”
“I never said I’m okay with that!” Agares roared slamming his fists on the table. Y/N jumped in her seat, her soul successfully leaving the girl’s body for a second. “Who knows what he will do to her and the others? They’re even worse.” The blabbering continued. “They may be excellent fighters and leaders but the rest? They tricked Y/N into doing disgusting things.”
“For the record, they didn’t” Y/N cut him short of his last sentence. Jin frowned and scoffed.
“So…” displeasure was written all over the shorter demon’s face. “Those are the three options that you have, that we can offer you. It’s up to you.” He stopped and looked Y/N straight in the eye. “We won’t force you.”
With that, both of them became quiet and waited for her to decide. So many emotions were stirring in the broad-shouldered demon - mostly anger and impatience. He feared that she is going to choose the Kings over him. Then his ego was going to take the greatest hit in his centuries-long life.
Yoongi stood opposite his Master, eyes looking somewhere far away in the distance. For a while now he felt the grip Y/N had on him becoming loose. Definitely, the distance and the time apart had something to do with it but at the same time this wasn’t the whole reason. From what he knew of her people the power of the Spark transcended time and place and the only logical conclusion would be that she had forgotten about him. Then and there he put all his powers into breaking free of the influence so he could be sure if his own feeling were real or just her doing.
When she came back he was so thrilled to have her in his arms. Then Yoongi remembered that it might not be real.
Agares seemed the same as before, did that mean the girl wanted him more and longed for the Master? Poisoning thoughts and questions. Instead of sadness or regret, Baal was angry and sour.
“Can I negotiate?” Y/N asked after a while, ripping Yoongi out of his daze-like state.
“Depends on what you want.”
“I was thinking if it will be possible to take me home for just one day and then bring me back to the place where these Oracles are?”
When the valet entered the solar room he found Noir reading an old grimoire. The King didn’t even move or lift his eyes. “Who is it?”
The man bowed deeply. “Master Asmodeus.”
“Send him in.”
When the spy entered he too bowed respectfully and waited for Namjoon to let him in. The King rose from the armchair and nodded towards the shorter demon. “Good to see you. I hope you bring good news.”
“Not sure exactly.”
The two of them stood there for a second looking at each other.
“Want to move to the Great hall and wait for the others or is what you’re going to tell me for my ears only?”
“If the other Kings are here they are free to join too.”
“Only Jungkook is missing but I will bring him up to date once he arrives.”
Half an hour later Jimin, Hoseok and Namjoon were all gathered in the great hall, sitting on their respective thrones. The King of the South seemed as menacing as usual - his hooded eyes were heavy and cold. His slim figure was covered from head to toe with leather and those boots with silver heels reflected the light. The spy was most comfortable talking with the other two, while with Aamon he always had to think twice before speaking. There was something incredibly scary about him. Jungkook thought otherwise though, as well as Taehyung and Hoseok.
“I’ve come to tell you what happened in Agares’ mansion.”
“Oh! Interesting!” Alastor’s voice rang through the hall.
“Speak” Noir urged the spy.
Christopher told him everything word by word while opening his mind for the three so they can see the pictures of what happened and assess the behavior and gestures of Jin. They listened intently, each one of them looking at something specific in the memories.
“Well, that doesn’t give us much. Apparently, he wants to win this war desperately and rise in rank.” Namjoon said after hearing the whole story.
“I don’t think so. He has never shown any intentions of becoming a minister or a face in the military.” The whole ordeal bothered Alastor.
Jimin shifted in his seat. “You remember why we separated in the first place, now think. There must be something behind all of that. Also…” he looked at Noir. “He never told us that she’s special, nor did she.”
“Had Jungkook told you something?” Namjoon asked him, feeling the situation slipping out of control. This was apparently just the tip of the iceberg.
“No.” He gritted his teeth.
“What is that face exactly?” Hoseok laughed. “Jealousy?”
Aamon remembered how his closest companion was touching Y/N the night of the feast, the way he was looking at her and she - back at him. The longing returned. “No.” A cold voice that made Hoseok forget about teasing him. “He fucked her though. That must mean something. I guess the girl has gotten under his skin somehow.”
“How do you know that?” Namjoon lifted a brow.
“Saw them in the garden when we celebrated. I lost sight of Mammon at some point and went out to look for him and I saw them.”
Alastor frowned. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Why would I? It’s not like he isn’t allowed to fuck.”
“Yes, but he hasn’t done that in decades. Jungkook refused all the girls from his harem, ours too.”
While the King argued Christopher was worrying about the oncoming feud between the four demons. Nasty business.
“She must be special if Y/N really is from the Spark nation,” Noir noted, bringing the dispute to an end. “Also that would mean she lied to us. About everything.”
“You’re awfully calm though.” Hoseok knew that this was the calm before the storm.
“Why would I be anything else? I can’t deal with this from here, at least not now. And let me tell you this - this girl is not to blame. Y/N’s just a part of a bigger scheme - Jin’s. I don’t know what it is exactly but mark my word - I will find out.”
The rest of them nodded.
"Another thing - it's not a crime to be from any other nation. We welcome everyone here as long as the order and quiet is maintained. Of course lying to the rulers is a crime." Jimin added playing with his fingers. The spy could taste the tension.
“What I want from you” the King of the West turned to the spy once more “is to go back to the mansion. Keep an eye on them. From afar. If something suspicious happens report to me immediately.”
“Understood.”
It was obvious that the Kings were struggling to keep a straight mind, being overcome with doubts and suspicions. Suspicions that Christopher himself planted when mentioning the Sparks. If things didn't work out in the end the situation might result in a war and for Doordale to be split.
Jimin seemed preoccupied with his own thoughts. “I doubt there is something brewing against us - at least not anymore. I think Jin only wants recognition for all he’s done for the past years.” He said in conclusion.
Aamon’s concern now was Jungkook. He wanted what he had, wanted Y/N and desired to know what made the King break his rules so easily when he couldn’t. If she really possessed the power of the Spark everything would finally make sense.
Yoongi’s last words from that night rang in his mind “We’re demons. We're not made to be happy and nice."
“What about your initial plan?” Yoongi asked Jin later that night. “I thought she was supposed to take the Kings down and raise you to the throne.”
The other man rolled his eyes. It would’ve been too obvious to her and despite Agares’ manipulation techniques she would’ve caught up and straight out refuse. That’s the thing the taller demon was sure about. “Y/N would’ve never agreed to it.”
“Since when do you care?”
“Since she is the main character at play. The woman has a high moral.”
“Tsk…” Baal clicked his tongue in displeasure.
“What exactly is wrong with you? It’s like our roles are switched” Jin noted with a mild surprise laced in his voice. “What the fuck happened to you?”
For a while the mint-haired demon was quietly looking towards his companion not breaking eye contact. “What bothers me is that maybe Y/N messed our minds with her abilities. All of it - the nice uncharacteristic behavior of ours, the feelings we have, the changes in your objective and everything else. It’s because of her and what she did.”
“It might as well be as you’re saying” Agares shrugged “but I’m still me. My demonic soul is intact. I can perform my duties just as well.”
Yoongi was taken aback by those words. “That’s exactly what I mean. You’re not you.”
“Uh-uh. You’re wrong. I’m completely fine. The only thing that has changed is my way of getting what I want.”
A week later everything was set for the long journey ahead of them. Preparations were made for later when they had to return and go to the land of the Oracles. In the end it was decided that once more Yoongi will accompany Y/N on her visit to the human world since he was familiar enough with it and had somewhat a good relationship with the girl.
“24 hours. That’s all you have.” Jin said to her.
“I know.” She smiled brightly. Everyone around felt her heightened energy. “See you tomorrow then, Jin” Y/N waved, then took the pre-prepared small bag.
Baal nodded towards the Master then joined Y/N on her way out.
The two walked for a while reaching a clearing in the forest.
“The Wishing Well. Remember?”
“I do.”
After a short ritual, the energy around them started buzzing with static. It was like the moment before a thunder hits. Then when the passage opened it looked like a rip in the matter of space, the sight was so outworldly and cosmic.
Yoongi grabbed Y/N’s hand.
“Don’t let go.”
When she came to, the young woman was laying on a familiar soft mattress. A bit confused and dizzy, she looked around. Her house. The bedroom.
“Welcome back. You’re home” Baal’s soft voice greeted Y/N.
“I’m home” her eyes began watering unintentionally.
After a short trip to the shop Y/N came out with a pack of cigarettes. “I’ve longed for these.” She lit one and inhaled deeply. Such a nasty habit but inevitable.
“You’re supposed to be a doctor. Why smoke when you know how bad it is?”
“I could ask you the same - why do bad deeds when you know the consequences and the pain they will cause for the others.”
“It’s not the same…”
“Whatever. My choice, thank you very much.”
Impossible to argue with someone like her, Yoongi concluded once more. “At some point I will quit but not today I guess.”
It was late morning when they arrived at the university’s campus.
When they entered nothing seemed out of place. Wednesday - that meant that her friends will be in the cafeteria at this time. The usual table by the window, having coffee.
And exactly as predicted the group of three people was in the exact spot. Y/N ran to them hugging Monica tightly.
What the young woman was expecting was not what she got. Silence and still bodies turned towards her.
“Excuse me. Do I know you?”
Y/N stood up, dumbfounded.
“It’s me - Y/N. I’ve missed you guys so much.” She went on and on about how much time they spent apart and how they haven’t seen each other.
“I think you’re mistaking us for someone else.” Felix cut her short. His cute and small face was cold and unwelcoming. “It’s not very appropriate to burst on people and claim to know them and get into their personal space like that” gesturing towards Monica, who seemed extremely uncomfortable.
“What the hell?” Y/N muttered and turned to look at Yoongi. “Excuse me…” she began trembling and started sweating. Running towards the demon she dragged him out of the cafeteria.
“Care to explain?!” she screamed in his face. “What the fuck happened there?!! They don’t remember me!”
“I don’t know,” he said flatly.
“I think you do and you will explain everything!”
Yoongi rolled his eyes in annoyance. “Look, I don’t think you have any right to accuse me. I haven’t done shit and why would I?”
“This is something that I will figure out in time but I’m sure you have something to do with it.”
Yoongi of course knew that it was just a precautionary measure that had to be taken before the two left weeks ago.

You knew the moment ‘Adrien’ walked into Kiara’s office, something was different with him. It was only a few moments of observing did you come to the realization that the man before you was not Adrien. He may look like him, but the way he was acting and talking was different from the witty warlock you knew. It didn’t take long for you to come to the only conclusion that made sense.
Jasper was finally in front of you again.
You can only hope that the boys don’t get too mad when they find out that you came out willingly to Jasper on your own. You can already see the hurt and angry expressions on their faces. Hopefully you’ll be able to seek their forgiveness by the end of all this.
You’d be lying if you said you weren’t scared considering the fact that he was a warlock and you were just a human. You know that your one training session with Jungkook and Hoseok wouldn’t be enough to defeat him, but you needed to get him as far away from the palace as possible.
Who knows what could’ve happened if he unleashed his power then and there. Possibly more of a bloodbath than what you would ever want and you didn’t want to put everyone’s life in danger, even if it means putting yours on the line.
You just hope that Adrien finds you the same way he found Kiara.
You were so lost in your thoughts and trying to memorize the trail that you didn’t notice the way he stopped moving all together. And before you know it, you two were now standing in front of what looked like an abandoned estate that once belonged to a wealthy family.
“We’ve arrived,” it was almost scary hearing Adrien’s voice knowing it was Jasper right in front of you.
You gulp but you try to mask your nervousness with a faux confused expression, “I thought you were leading me to see some glowing flowers.”
He chuckles, “things need to be in the dark in order to glow Y/n,” he answers as if it were the most obvious answer, which in hindsight it kind of was. He points ahead, “I found them when I was exploring this building. Found them glowing right in the center of the room surprisingly enough.”
You raise a brow, “and what were you doing exploring this abandoned mansion,” you question confidently.
He turns to you with a slight quirk of his lips, “are you always this curious?” Instead of waiting for a reply he begins to walk forward with his hands nonchalantly in his pants pockets, “come on now.”
There’s no denying the anxiety running through you as you willingly follow possibly the most deadliest man you will ever encounter in your life.
When you walk into the building, you’re not at all surprised to find broken staircases, shattered windows and cobwebs everywhere. Exactly what you would picture an abandoned estate to look like.
Though you couldn’t help but admire the beauty within as it seemed to have been taken over by overgrown plants covering parts of the railing of the staircase and vines wrapping around the walls with flowers littered here and there. The sunlight shining in the room made it an even more picturesque scene.

Facts.
i’ve seen a lot of posts going around about how writers are leaving due to lack of feedback, how sfw writers get less traction than nsfw writers, how longfic writers—especially sfw fic writers, suffer the most out of all of these. and i have to say, as an sfw longfic writers i really agree with all of these. i reblog almost every rant i come across from frustrated writers, reblog almost every psa, every attempt to educate those new to tumblr and the reblogging system.
but it seems like there’s been a misconception. something that makes readers mad. “you should be grateful we’re reading your works in the first place!”
well. i guess so. but is it really too much to ask for a simple reblog instead of a like? with a few words in the tags? even no words at all. empty reblogs are still above likes. i get not wanting to say anything sometimes, sometimes i’m tired and just want to read something without saying anything about it. it doesn’t have anything to do with the author or quality of work, but just the fact that i’m tired. so reblog with nothing. or an “👍” in the tags. makes a world of difference. most writers won’t care if the “feedback” is just a few words. and as a writer and a reader, i see both sides.
now, about the “be grateful!”. i… suppose. i don’t know a single author that’s ungrateful though. wanting more meaningful interactions isn’t ungrateful for what they have now. in fact, when i see most rants about lack of interaction they almost always start off with how grateful they are for what they have now. it’s not selfish to ask for that. personally, i’d rather have 50 notes, but most of those notes be reblogs and feedback, than 500 notes, with all of them being likes. don’t know if everyone feels that way, but it’s certainly how i feel.
so basically, no. you don’t have to reblog or leave feedback. you don’t have to interact at all. you can read every piece of work that the writers you follow puts out without leaving a single like. that’s all up to you and none of us can force you to do anything else. we don’t want to force you to do these things. but if you’re not going to use a small bit of effort to give back to us for the hard work we put in and ignore us continuously when we say we’re losing motivation because of lack of feedback, you don’t get to be mad. you don’t get to demand faster output, you don’t get to be mad when requests take longer, you don’t get to be mad when authors eventually leave. you don’t get to be mad when you could have helped prevent this.
at first i didn’t mind people leaving, because lack of feedback seemed to weed out the weird people who came here to “write” for the sake of “tumblr fame”. okay, good riddance. but that was before i really became a creator on here. i started watching some really talented, dedicated writers leave. people that truly love writing. people that have been writing their entire lives. you might think it’s stupid for people to leave over a lack of feedback—i did at first, i admit it—but until you’re in writers’ shoes, you don’t know how damn devastating it can be. and it was angering, because i always reblog with feedback now. but one reblog sometimes isn’t enough. just because a fic already has feedback and reblogs doesn’t mean yours won’t count. if you wanted to say “i liked this!” then say it. your reblog, no matter how simplistic you think it is, could be the reason someone stays and keeps writing.
this is very long and rambly and choppy because i wrote it without planning anything out. just my feelings. but lastly, i want to leave you with this thought. next time you see a post talking about a subject like this, about reblogs vs. likes, i want you to check the notes. oftentimes many people reblog those posts, like i do, to educate their followers. and that leads to more reblogs. more people talking about it. it expands the audience. shows new people. it allows the post to constantly grow.
imagine if we could do that for fics.
