Tell Me A Secret
Tell me a secret
One bone from your skeletons
Something you'll find in twilight
When you crack open the closet
Like I knew it wasn't going to work
But I thought I could fix them
We all thought that at some point
Tell me a secret
It could be something morose
Like a planned escape with death
Or a good tinge of light comedy
Of how you missed all the hot one's signs
You just wanted to fuck them anyway
You knew it was never going to work
Tell me a secret
Can't guarantee I'll tell you one of mine
Life is not tic for tac, you know
Turn to that back page in the diary
One that you have from high school
About getting revenge on the bully
Making them cry, only you know how, why
Tell me a secret
Something you always wished to spill
But you shoved deeper into the well
A kink your so-called religion shamed
Whips, cuts, role play, polyamory...
You thought it was abnormal
But is it, if you have a partner in crime?

Now
Do you recall the night I broke your heart
You sat on the bleachers gift in hand
I never gave you a chance to give
I said my goodbyes and all the whys
And didn't give you a chance to protest
I didn't even give you one final glance
Never knowing it would truly be my last
So many moons later, I wonder about you
If that choice was right, there was no redo
A lost connection, no Facebook to be found
So I put it to the ether, I hope you're happy now

Sundress
Fabric wraps your breasts
And accentuates your curves
Showing off your calves
Teasing the thighs
Your shoulders, back
Glisten in the sparkling sun
The imagination left behind
You glide in the breeze
The swaying outlines your ass
Each trace drives me wild
Taking you with and without
Exciting relaxation now due
Perfection, no. Damn close.

Pondering lIfe
Missing love
True emotion
Late twilight
Misguided paths
Broken oaths
Highest tension
Early morn
Guided dreams
Lustful touches

Before You Go
Love me before you go
Leave me a memory
You don’t have to text
Pretend it’s anonymously
Take my piece of heaven
As the fruit falls off the tree
Climb the trunk to paradise
Pleasures of your humanity
Alone, I now lay used
Exhausted by your economy
Consumed by the dark fires
A sin worth the ecstasy
Love me before you go
Impress my memory…

Unrequited
Is love unrequited
Gifted to another
Hoping to be returned
In an unequal response
Making you overflow
And emotional whelmed
Did their gift of love
Find you fulfilled
Or are they the one
Left to be unrequited

Do you dream of the future
Of the fun and the mundane
Sharing space separately
Adventuring the world alone
Building a fundamental home
Full of safety, love, and hope
When I woke in the present
Did I see the lonely path ahead
To the future of those dreams
I chose not to follow that road
For I wish to not to go alone
So I ask, will you come with?

I dream of you
Sleeping alone
As I do the same
I can feel your skin
Beneath my thoughts
Teasing my soul
Kiss me through
The miles and night
Touch me so
We peak when right
Hold me as though
Our love will end
Once the clock
Passes midnight

Toughest Critique
I get self-conscious about my hobbies
As I’m sure we all sometimes tend to do
I like to think I’m well-rounded
While the geek in me tends to win
I can ride as fast and as far as I can pedal
Dozens of miles through hills, old countryside
Then coop up with Link, Shulk, and Samus
While a sci-fi book plays in the background
I’ll walk in the mountains and forest for hours
In morning sun, afternoon rain and even snow
And I’ll take pictures of many toys, yes toys
Aiming for that perfect shot and pose
I can speak for all these for hours
日本語にもはなせる
Until it becomes a bit overwhelming, boring
Yet, only few understand the geekiness
It hides until I trust and am vulnerable
As that self-consciousness tends to creep
I try to own it and make it mine, unique
It is the one side of my personality
I still remain the toughest critique

Toriyama
I watched this cartoon
Something new to us
Crazy hair, transformations
Energy blasts, a fan translation
A decision to learn
A language none of my friends spoke
I needed to know the truth
Were the words right?
They were wrong
But a teenage choice
Led to knowledge and chance
For an inner-city child
To travel the world like his created heroes
Growing like his RPG characters
Transforming me
An impulse decision
From cartoons and games
Molded a person, a life

Hold me when you are helpless
When your world has gone dark
Hiding under your safety covers
From the monsters who all lurk
From all the doubts in your mind
And the fears from your closest
I will be a moment of strength
A light to guide your way back
To understand that you’re loved
You’re strong, brave, growing
And aren’t ever alone

Some lessons
Only come from heartbreak
Some growth
Only comes from failure
Broken, molded
Written, retold, abandoned, loved
We become
The amalgamation of experience

Never take for granted their smile
Their laugh, joy, hugs, their love
As soon as you do, it fades slowly
Like a dying star waiting to go nova
The more you can cherish the time
Small moments as they happen now
The more they feel love reciprocated
Fueling their star, so they shine bright

The Song about Vermont
The song about Vermont
Reminds me of you
And how you wished to escape
The past that you knew
You wanted to be different
Something so much more
I was the person who showed you
Who you were before
Chasing happiness through drama
Did it work out for you
As my calm and steady persona
Was too boring like dew
You spoke about your exciting exes
As they were legendary
I never fit any of their bravado
I gave you me aplenty
You spoke about the small city
In the sticks of Vermont
The way your voice would sing
Your soul never left along
But now you play with that tune
Hoping you found that smile
I wish you happiness and wealth
From my invisible profile

We don't like to read about happiness
Joy or the growth that comes from it
We love to wallow in misery
Without company... Anymore
We march towards dystopia
Following the bright warning signs
That lie about riches being near
Each step the wrong direction
Yet the beat pushes us to the extremes
To trauma dump on fictional monsters
Knowing we can't really stop our demise
We stare blankly as we're led to the edge

Midnight Fears of the Overthinker
What if I am not enough
Not showing up when needed
Not lifting when called upon
What if my words fail me
They stumble into the abyss
Into the dark forever unheard
What if I open the closet
All the skeletons tumble out
Chasing away those close
What if my heart stops
My river suddenly runs dry
No empathy left to give
What if I destroy my smile
Gone are the geeky quirks I hold
A person becomes android
What if I am not enough
Because I don't have enough
Never... enough... enough...
