It’s about a society on its way down. And as it falls, it keeps telling itself: “So far so good… So far so good… So far so good.” It’s not how you fall that matters. It’s how you land.
La Haine (1995), dir. Mathieu Kassovitz

Just watched The Haunting of Bly Manor. My expectations were high because I loved The Haunting of Hill House and I was not disappointed.
One of the things I love the most about this series is the way the horror is not that old-fashioned ghost scare, but real, human terror. Death, loss, despair and love are all so ordinary
, cruel and they all frighten us, humans. Truth be told, some people love ‘til it hurts and when our loved ones go, we don’t know what to do with that, how to not lose ourselves and we search for the best solutions, but sometimes it turns out there are no solutions and we just have to let go. This show presents many types of loss and deaths, also ways humans react to it, it’s nice to watch but it wrecks you.

noice, personally i was not impressed by this movie, but it was alright and for once i should not criticize but appreciate, i’m learning to be better
thank you for pointing out these aspects
Why you should watch Enola Holmes (2020)
- female teenage protagonist (Enola) is 16, played by actual 16yr old Millie Bobby Brown instead of an adult woman
- love interest (Tewkesbury) is played by 17yr old Lewis Partridge and not a man that’s way older than Millie
- Enola is not sexualized once in the entire movie
- Enola is not made to look older than 16
- period movie that isn’t depressing or super dark
- criticisms on society that are very valid today
- Tewkesbury cries on screen (let men show their feelings 2020)
- Enola is not a damsel in distress, in fact she’s the one that goes out of her way to save Tewkesbury
- Enola is 90% of the time wearing an outfit that is comfortable on her and allows her to move freely, the only times she doesn’t are when she’s undercover
- a genuinly fun story that’s easy to follow, appropriate for kids and not boring to adults
- no love at first sight bullshit, it takes Enola ages before she realizes her feelings and love is not her main motivation
- Mycroft is an absolute abysmal human being and the movie never tries to sympathise with him. He’s just straight an asshole and isn’t given a redemption or sympathy
- movie is written and produced by women

ok but can we take a moment and just imagine how Aidan Gallagher must have felt while THE Kate Walsh was aggresively flirting with Five Hargreeves because sometimes that is all i can think about

Just finished season 2 of The Umbrella Academy. I can't describe how much I love the series, just a few weeks back I read the comics too and I love it all. But I have to say there are things I didn't like about s2. Somehow I think I expected something else, but I liked what I got anyway. I am so happy that Allison found a real love and of course not one that is related to her. It was great to see more of Diego and also more of his powers but his relationship with Lila felt kinda weird, also det. Patch was not mentioned once and I thought she was a huge part of Diego. It was amazing to see Ben doing more stuff, plus his scenes with Klaus were so funny and cute (Robert Sheehan playing a Klaus possessed by Ben was incredible). However, Klaus was so selfish to keep Ben away from their brothers and sisters. All these years, Klaus had Ben next to him but he didn't let him have anyone else..
One of the things I liked the most was the way they chose the pairs of brothers to meet the first time in the 60s, because they were the pairs we haven't really seen interact in s1: Luther and Vanya, Klaus and Allison, Diego and Five. Also Luther helping a maniac Five meeting another maniac but younger Five was awesome.
Oh and let's not forget about David Castañeda doing his own stunts and giving us more fighting scenes because that is holy. Just as Klaus' cult wisdom based on pop lyrics and Aidan Gallagher's impressive acting.

Capone (2020) dir. Josh Trank
I noticed that this movie has disappointed a lot of viewers and honestly I can’t figure out why. This movie was exactly what I expected it to be because it wasn’t supposed to be about the actions of the notorious gangster Al Capone, but the struggles he and his closed ones faced during his last days. I don’t know how exact were the facts presented and I’m not commenting anything about this. The whole movie made me feel uncomfortable but not in a bad way, I felt the pain and the misery of the characters, I think Tom Hardy’s performance was amazing. It was a nice experience, it showed a different part of Al Capone.
As a simply TV-lover, not a real critic or a professional, I was impressed and I enjoyed the movie.

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life… But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin’ else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you’ve got heroin?
Trainspotting (1996) dir. Danny Boyle
