Maybe just b/c I re-read it recently, but I really do like Batman #703 for Damian b/c it showcases his combative personality yet also defensiveness and fear of being judged, relationship with dick and his father, and also his competence (remember Damian was right about getaway genius using the cloaking device dick had them go in the sewers for nothing xD)

Cassandra Cain: DC. It was hard to choose just one DC character, but she's my girl. When I think of her, I think of redemption and love and sacrifice and aiming to be perfect even if you destroy yourself in the process. I could write essays about her, don't tempt me.
Samwise Gamgee: Lord of the Rings. How do you hold on to hope when the world is burning? How do you believe that there's good, and that it's worth fighting for? How do you love despite everything? By being Samwise Gamgee, that's how.
Billie Lurk: Dishonored. Another character carrying the weight of her guilt on her back (I love those), but also the weight of being a complete badass (I also love those).
Hadrian Blackwater: Riyria Revelations. He's a gentle giant. A man capable of infinite kindness, but who also has a big sword and knows how to use it. Ah, he's also a thief. What more could you want?
Viktor: Arcane. A self-isolated dreamer, a hurt idealist, a man in love with knowledge and at war with his own body.... let's just say I relate to him way too much.
Sophie Hatter: Howl's Moving Castle. I love movie Sophie and I love book Sophie. She gets to find her place and her confidence while calling others (mostly Howl) on their bullshit. A true hero.
Inej Ghafa: Six of Crows. I want to see her burn the world and get revenge on everyone who hurt her, but I also want to see her free and smiling and demanding the love she deserves.
Leon S. Kennedy: Resident Evil. Watch this poor guy kill zombies for the millionth time and solve ridiculous puzzles while delivering the corniest one-liners. He needs vacations and therapy.
Nathan Drake: Uncharted. Mister Cognitive Dissonance. He's a nerd, he's a thief, he'll say "oh crap" and tell funny jokes while murdering hundreds of mercenaries.
Kaladin Stormblessed: The Stormlight Archive. There's something about having a character who's lost everything and who's given up, but then decides to fight against all odds with tooth and nail for the sake of others just to realize "Hey, I'm fighting for myself as well."

Damian Wayne. dc. i am an absolute sucker for human weapons who learn to be more than their past. the fact that his character development is imperfect and riddled with human mistakes makes me so insane. i just love that his palatability is seperate from his relative moral soundness, he isn’t a perfect abuse victim and i just love it. 10/10 he spins on my blorbo lazy susan a lot.
Bronya Zaychik. honkai impact. this was an og og fandom for me, but i do still love her. the supposed ‘lack of emotions’ she exhibits is very relatable to me as someone who probably has some form of alexithymia, the fact that she is nonetheless accepted by her friends and is portrayed as a complete human being just gets me so bad. also fits into the human weapon archetype <333.
Ranpo Edogawa. bungou stray dogs. i just adore him! similar situation to bronya where he isn’t told he has to fundamentally change himself to have a loving support system. his flippancy towards extraneous things like adult responsibilities, and his inability to understand the reasoning behind social conventions does remind me of myself at times. but as aforementioned, my favourite part of his character is probably that individuality doesn’t have to be sacrificed for success or respect! maybe i will catch up on the recent chapters some time…
Chongyun. genshin. social masking allegory and legacy character… i have a similar approach to fielding my emotions, and while I don’t have a decades long legacy to live up to, I find the way he has to navigate succession in his own way very interesting. he was also my first main, so!
Wanda Maximoff. marvel. similar thing to damian in the fact that she is an imperfect person who does not have an idyllic path to redemption and heroism. she’s messy and desperate, but that doesn’t make her undeserving. kind of love the position she’s in right now where she just has this quiet wisdom from all she’s been through. scarlet witch (2016) also has a special place in my heart for the second comic i ever read (shout out to the runaways for being the first).
Andromache. the old guard. immortals!!! love examining the impact of time on personhood, as in a ridiculously prolonged span of time, and boy is she fascinating. she’s completely jaded at this point, and only really existing rather than living. she almost becomes a product of time rather than an entity born from its passing. it’s just so interesting to see a character so entirely devoted to a cause through obligation, because what else can she do?, the only thing she remembers is how to fight.
Fushiguro Megumi. jujutsu kaisen. i love how much of a deranged mess he is. watching him have to unlearn his suicidal tendencies was so fucking interesting. he has this cool arrogance to him that makes him eminently unlikeable, but he is still a fundamentally good person at his core. for some reason my memory really failed me here? so not much to say, but I remember liking him.
Xie Lian. tgcf. innately good person despite his trauma! i love characters like this and i thought him fighting a literal manifestation of his past, more selfish self, was a fun way to signify his growth.
Homura Akemi. madoka magica. one of my childhood favourites. i watched this series at age seven and it probably severely impacted my psyche. her loneliness turned obsessive attachment and love is utterly heartbreaking to me. her unquestionable and desperate devotion to madoka is just. agghhh. the way that she needs her so intensely that she’s willing to sacrifice her personhood, the universe itself. ultimate blueprint for toxic yuri 10/10.
Boris Pavlikovsky. the goldfinch. he’s a lot of things but a mentally stable person is not one of them. i find the line he walks between total self annihilation and self preservation very interesting. he represents this kind of pseudo-eternal youth, he always commits to extremes. he doesn’t ever ‘overdo’ it but more because it would hinder his ability to live tomorrow rather than because of any adverse health effects. the fact that he is such an optimist at his core despite everything is just a fascinating contradiction.

Nope, no one in my family has a name like me, although it's definitely not a weird name where I live. Hahaha, since my name is Lorena, I don't hide it because that's literally the name of my blog lmao.

A couple of months ago. I don't cry often.

Nope, my only children are my students.
4. What sports do you play/have you played?
I practiced Judo for a while, but my schedule prevented me from continuing (it still hurts that I couldn't continue)

Nope, I don't know how to do it 😔😔😔
6. What's the first thing you notice about people?
His nose. I don't know why but I'm very struck by the type of nose people have.

Light brown and green.

I like my scary movies and my fanfics with happy endings.

Not unless you're counting the potential human baby that my name says I replaced at birth, and my name wouldn't really work if we were both called it so.

Cannot remember tbh probably like a few weeks ago? Over a month ago I think when the first reports of the mass murder from Gaza started coming out and it became clear no one in power was going to stop it.

Nope!

Gaelic football, hurling, tennis, swimming, football, handball, basketball, probably more that I'm forgetting because I stopped most of them years ago

Yeah I enjoy it.

12 What’s a headcanon you have for this character?
I have so many damian headcanons :P One is definitely that he's autistic.
I also think that since he's naturally both very talented and a perfectionist who tries hard in like, everything, all his school work would be super well-done. like I see the tumblr post about someone being like 'damian would blackmail his teacher if he got a B' and i'm like XD sorry he's never getting a B. I do think some of his classmates would want his help on the homework and since he loves showing off he wouldn't mind helping.
14 Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
Sadly I know nothing about fashion ;_; I guess I think he should get to wear something bedazzled. Just for fun.
16. What’s your least favorite ship for this character?
I'm not sure I have any strong opinions about Damian and shipping at all, but we'll go with DamiRae (sorry animated movie fans). it just doesn't really do anything for either of their characters, most of the content I see with them is OOC and often it just comes across as two OCs.
Also (inb4 anyone misinterprets this: I am NOT saying this means people can't ship animated movie stuff or that it's pedophilia or w/e) i'm just a comics purist and in my head Damian is a child/teenager and Raven is his older brother's friend. like my favorite versions of each character (NTT Raven, comics canon Damian) are just in a situation where it fundamentally doesn't make sense.

your opinion on the best boy damian wayne

Obviously he's one of my favorite DC characters :P Hard to think of things I haven't already said a lot before on him but hmm
Ok well here's 1 of my favorite metas i've done on him (link)
I think he's a very fun character, and his character arc is very slow and realistic. he doesn't turn over a sudden new leaf, even when he stops killing people he initially does not conceptualize it as a moral reason but just b/c he's not supposed to according to his father (which. I get into a lot in the meta :P)
i think he works best when even when he has very strong morals that would be read as undeniably heroic, like R:SoB era, he still is prickly and is not soft. Like no matter what he should be allowed to be rude to people or aloof, I don't like when Damian seems to wear his heart on his sleeve.
I find Williamson a pretty mid-Damian writer, I think his Damian is often not very competent (tho we saw some of that disappearing in knight terrors) and he fails at what the goal of Robin 2021 is (which is to fix Damian's character assassination) because he acts as if Damian just is secretly thrilled to kill people without consequence and needs to be humbled.
People who want humble Damian are boring.
.... not sure what else to say lol I feel like I could go on forever but also could repeat myself a bunch... anyway... definitely a good character.

some explanations:
I don't think I'd include most fandom takes are incorrect, even if I disagree with some and am extremely opinionated, if I was only taking into account takes about Damian himself. But when you include it to takes about his relationships w/ other characters I see a lot that I just Fundamentally Do Not Agree With.
Writers have been dropping the ball on Damian since 2016 sadly ;_;

7 Who’s your favorite author (fanon or canon)?
again a hard one b/c there are lots of good writers... for writers I consistently love what they do (rather than just loving how they do one character) I think Greg Rucka is up there, so is John Ostrander. Like if I hear a series that stars a character I don't care about is written by 1 of those two, I'll mentally put it in a "to check out" box.

I am! I was named after a little girl who went to the same pool my family had gone to and my mom liked the name. She said whether I was a girl or a boy, Taylor was going to be my name. So I got to use it as both
2. When was the last time you cried?
Saturday 🥲 it's been a rough time lately, but I think things are going to get better soon
3. Do you have kids?
Just my three baby bunnies 🐰🐇🦘
4. What sports do you play/have you played?
I played soccer as a kid and tennis. Now I just play it cool

I had to think on this one, but I think age and gender? I'm a southern boy and so when I approach clerks or do the southern hello when walking by people, I have to think whether to use ma'am or sir with people I perceive older than me. And I'm always looking for queer people in the area so I keep an eye out when I'm out so I can tell them I like their hair/shirt. I saw a queer person on the sidewalk the other day wearing the most beautiful button down shirt and I had to go up to them like where did you get that
7. What's your eye color?
It's dark brown, almost black, which sounds cliche. But they are hella dark and twinkle and I like to look at my eyes in a mirror

I'm banned from watching scary movies, so happy endings

Drawing! And can I count crafting? I have done knitting, crochet, needlepoint, wood burning, jewelry making, painting, sewing, soap making, diy model kits. I can make anything with my hands and pick up the skills rather fast

Do you have any DC blog recommendations? I know that's a super general question but I find the bat family and also green arrow intriguing (the blogs don't necessarily have to be dedicated to BOTH of those). But I don't want to accidentally follow people who fanonize everyone since I'm not well versed in their comics yet. So I thought you might have some good recs?
i was sitting on this not sure how to answer... :P I know lots of cool blogs, but also my general thought process is its easiest to tell if the stuff is fanony by reading the comics and developing ur own opinions (also like! People can read the comics and have vastly different opinions. I know there are some people who definitely read comics, and don't base their stuff off fanon, but I still don't agree with their takes. Which is fine, b/c everyone is different. but like. you could follow a non-fanonized blog and still wind up disagreeing with them when u read the comics for example).
there are a lot of people whose blogs are cool but I don't know if they consider themselves primarily fandom blogging or primarily personal blogging :P like @gothham @mollyhats @zukoisblorbo @wesavegotham are like just 4 off the top of my head but I know there are a gazillion more... people who i have forgotten can feel free to leave a comment :P
