A Zukka parallel in Book 2 Chapter 9, 'Bitter Work'

ah yes, the episode where Aang struggles to learn earthbending, while Sokka is stuck in a hole talking to the sky, and Zuko is struggling with inner turmoil yelling at the sky

Sokka is physically trapped, attempting to bargain with the universe for his life, while Zuko is emotionally trapped in his own anger and pain, demanding that the universe test him once more.

if you're sitting behind the rider, grabbing onto their shoulders makes it uncomfortable for them and holding onto their waist is uncomfortable for you. you don't really need to hold anywhere, you can just lean your upper body forward and your balance will be fine.

the real reason sokka never got married or had any biological kids and zuko also never got married and no one knows who Izumi's mother is... Is, in fact, because they're gay. they adopted Izumi together and raised her together and they were in love. it's the only logical explanation and Also the only one that warms my heart.

i know we’ve all come to this realization already, but mai and zuko are just not a good match. zuko very obviously loved being in a relationship, loved cuddling and being near his significant other, loved giving gifts, even! he wanted mai to open up to him, so they could be vulnerable together, but mai’s attitude was unforgiving and only served to make zuko miserable.

sokka, on the other hand, would love being in a relationship with zuko. evidence: sokka orchestrated the entire romantic night in the tent with suki, was obvious in his attraction to her, and wasn’t scared to show her off and shower her with affection. he made her a sand sculpture! (a bad one, but he tried, nonetheless.)

zuko and sokka are both complete hopeless romantics, and would be the most tender, loving boyfriends in the entire Four Nations and no one can tell me otherwise 😌
