Passeig de Gràcia is the big boulevard where the expensive shops are in Barcelona. Historically, it was all kinds of local shops with high-end fashion, jewelry, and restaurants, built in Modernist-style houses from the late 1800s —but in recent times, like almost all local-owned shops of Barcelona, they've been forced to close due to tourism's pressure and gentrification, and their buildings have been bought by multinational brands.

I don't know how my brain hasn't rotted yet but I had another thought on Rohan. Specifically him and Zella. At the end of the Game, when Jameson and his uncle returned from their little heart-to-heart, Rohan and Zella have a little bickering match. The duchess implies that she has been chosen by the Proprietor to run the Game the following year. Now, you can see that Rohan gets somewhat standoffish about that and Zella states that he isn't his boss's only choice. In this scene, I'm immediately taken back to The Inheritance Games when Grayson was butting heads with Avery after he found out she was his grandfather's heiress.

Throughout The Brothers Hawthorne, where Rohan is concerned, it's implied that he's the second in command, the Factotum, the unofficial heir apparent. However, the problem is, like Grayson, he was never actually named heir apparent officially and he was still being tested to prove his worth. Unlike Grayson, he did have competition to assert himself to that position and in fact, who knows if the Proprietor would have picked him as the sole heir anyways? His boss could have easily led him on, much like Tobias did to his own grandson.

Going back to Gray, let's be clear, I honestly don't think any of his brothers expressed a want for the inheritance money; Jameson was only riling him up, Nash said he wasn't after it, and Xander already had his millions worth in crypto. The only real people who would have any use of Gray inheriting would be his mother, mostly so she could rub it in Zara's face. The competition he faced as a child with his brothers were for different reasons and it was intended to make the boys be the best, but that doesn't automatically translate to the heir to the inheritance. It was more who was going to be known as the best Hawthorne which is what made the brothers so competition oriented. And let's be honest, Gray would have been a great leader but I think what Avery ended up doing with the money helped him view things differently.

Now, reverting to Rohan again, he kept acting as if he was in control of every situation (sound like someone we know?) and tried to appear as unaffected as possible. He also challenged when he felt in question of his position, much like Grayson interrogated Avery at every turn until she ultimately gained his respect. But, that's not what Rohan's going through and maybe Gray accepted where he was at and is slowly reconvening to a place where he can be in control of his future now that the original has been torn to shreds, however, the Factotum is still in a place of shifting power. He still holds a position and has the chance to get what he's working towards but still, that might not happen. This is what could be revealed as to how he gets into the Grandest Game.

As much as Rohan can be viewed as a mirror Jameson, he also shares a lot in common with Grayson and as you can see, their stories are very similar. I think that the reason we'll be getting him as a player in TGG is because he either set out to prove himself in a different way to the Proprietor or he set out to do this for himself because he knows his worth and can achieve more by winning this game. Maybe this is his moment to actually detach from the Devil's Mercy because he realized that it was never going to give him more even after all the time he spent there doing all he could to show he deserves the position. And isn't that something we can all relate to? It's scary letting go of what you've known for so long but knowing you've proved yourself even if others can't see that is sometimes enough to move on to something better, something more fulfilling.

What are your favorite stores to get timeless pieces? I recently graduated college and I feel like my wardrobe is not matching my age!

(I hope this does not come off as rude but pls don't say thrifting bc I am in desperate need of new clothes asap ahah)

I totally understand, I’m in the middle of doing basically a complete overhaul. I’d say start with Banana Republic, Express, Abercrombie, Everlane, Reformation, Madewell, Ralph Lauren, Zara, J. Crew, Aritzia, Levi’s for jeans. Calvin Klein for underwear, t shirts. I lowkey love American Eagle & Aerie too even though it’s somewhat of a younger oriented brand. H&M gets a lot of heat for bad labor practices, low quality, etc. but I’ve had a few items from H&M that I still wear from years ago and it’s super cheap. White House Black Market has beautiful dresses. Also you can get a lot of this stuff at outlets or on sale or at places like Nordstrom Rack, TJMaxx, etc. I wish American Apparel was still more of a thing (rip) because their cotton basics were the best and I still wear a few neutral basics from them from literally early high school. I also like Pact for organic cotton basics.

For classy rich girl activewear I go for Lululemon, Alo Yoga, North Face, Patagonia, LL Bean, Eddie Bauer, Nike, Columbia. Loungewear/casual wear I love Aerie, Free People, and Anthropologie. Carhartt is kind of having a moment too and I have a few of their winter accessories like their beanies.

I know you said “don’t talk about thrifting” but thrifting is awesome. If you go to the rich neighborhoods in your area and go to the nearest thrift stores you can find gems. I’ve literally found authentic designer brands and cashmere sweaters at goodwill so if you’re down for the hunt it can be very rewarding.

i stumbled across a Rumi quatrain on tumblr today and it reminded me to go looking for my favourites, so here's a few, all taken from Kulliyat-e Shams-e Tabrizi, with the caveat that i do not speak Farsi and I have read them all as translations only. more notes on translation at the end, but all of these are translated by Zara Houshmand, and taken from the archives of The Iranian.

and the note on translation: these are of course not the Coleman Barks translations, the most popular English translations. i think the orientalism and... de-Sufi-fying and de-Muslim-ifying of the Barks translations and a lot of English-language and Western perception of Rumi is much more discussed now (Jawid Mojaddedi, who is writing a translation of Rumi's multi-volume Masnavi, says, "The Rumi that people love is very beautiful in English, and the price you pay is to cut the culture and religion.") if you're interested, Persian Poetics has a great twitter thread about it and their website has text, audio, and video resources where they've talked about it. and this article from Ajam Media is a short read and an interesting comparison of a few different translations.

if you enjoy Zara Houshmand's translations, she has a book of translations of Rumi's quatrains, Moon and Sun. there's many translations of Rumi's works not by Barks, that prioritise different things: you can 100% find a translation that isn't Barks, and Rumi's work is. so beautiful and so much better when you are not reading whatever uhhh... interpretation Barks came up with.

Short sum for newbie system designer processor steps

Here are a few beginner projects for learning the ropes of customized computation architecture design:

Pana, a '4-4-4' instruction processor derived from Intersil 6100 & GaryExplains' but for 4-bit data. Uses the sixteen (16) RISC instructions shown by GaryExplains and only four (4) of its registers (ACC, PC, LN & MQ) as per of the Intersil 6100 specification. Doing as much work onto nibbles like an MVP Intel 4004 can, great as a BCD & Nibble data converter for later designs.

Tina, a barely expanded '4-4-8' processor derived from the "Pana" design, it uses more registers by adding twelve general-use registers (A-F, U-Z letters) and operate onto a single byte of data at a time. Great for two nibbles operations, byte-wise interoperability and 8-bit word compatibility with all sorts of modern processors from the seventies-onwards.

Milan, a '6-2-24' strong hybrid 8-bit / 12-bit processor derived from the "Tina" design, operating onto three bytes or two tribbles of data at once depending of use-case, while fitting in exactly 32-bit per instruction. Aimed at computing three 8-bit units, enabling 16-bit & 24-bit compatibility as well as up to two tribble operands. A great MVP implementation step towards my next own tribble computing architecture and a competitor to the Jack educational computer as shown in the NAND2Tetris courseware book.

When I am done with such, I will be onto three tribble-oriented architectures for lower-end, middle-end and upper-end "markets". Zara being lower-end (6-bit opcode, 6-bit register & 36-bit data = 48-bit instructions), Zorua being mid-end (8-bit opcode, 8-bit register and 48-bit data = 64-bit instructions) and Zoroark being upper-end (12-bit opcode, 36-bit register and 96/144-bit data (so either eight or twelve tribble operands worth of data) = 144/192-bit instructions, aiming to emulate close enough to an open-source IBM's PowerISA clone with VLIW & hot-swap computer architecture).

By the way, I haven't forgotten about the 16^12 Utalics game consoles and overall tech market overview + history specifications, nor have I forgotten about studying + importing + tinkering around things like Microdot & Gentoo & Tilck. I simply need to keep a reminder to myself for what to do first when I shall start with the computation engineering process. Hopefully that might be interesting for you to consider as well... Tweaked and added some additional text & considering studying various aspects of Linux and overall copyleft / open source culture engineering scene, especially over Gentoo alternative kernels & hobby / homebrew standalone operating systems (GNU Hurd, OpenIndiana, Haiku... as well as niche ones like ZealOS, Parade, SerenityOS...) as to design a couple computation ecosystems (most derived from my constructed world which takes many hints from our real-life history) and choosing one among them to focus my implementation efforts onto as the "Nucleus" hybrid modular exo-kernel + my very own package modules collection. (Still aiming to be somewhat compatible with existing software following Unix philosophy principles too as to ease the developer learning cost in initial infrastructure compatibility & overall modularized complexity; Might also use some manifestation tips & games to enrich it with imports from said constructed world if possible)

I usually wear some the of the same scents I have for fall for winter too since it never gets super… wintery(?) where I live rn. I reach for clean/fresh scents or something warm or with an earthy base note. Actually I just got to a colder climate I have some ideas❄️

Invite Only Amber 23 by Kayali. Infusion de Vanille by Prada. Love all of these of especially Kayali & Versace.

I recently got a sampler set from Boy Smells & I really liked Violet Ends and Woodphoria (wearing woodphoria rn, love her)

Got a sampler from The 7 Virtues too🤭 Vanilla Woods and Santal Vanille were lovely (not an overpowering scent im not a big fan of vanilla)

I really like the Le Monde Gourmand scents too. the EDPs of Santal Supreme, Chai Épicé, and Latte D’or. They have nice perfume oils, candles, lipglosses, body/hair mists etc,.

Zara has some more affordable options; Oriental is a good one. Mix:Bar is nice too, I like their Vanilla Bourbon perfume. Al Rehab scents can be found on am*zon & I think a lot of them would be nice for winter (like Soft, Choco Musk, or Dalal) ☃️🤍❄️

I think once you made a poll or questionaire about it, but lately ive been trying to find clothes and struggle to find what i want (unless is in shein; they have so much clothes and so much variety but i dont want to support slave labor).

I'm doing great!! My new job has been very demanding (I'm learning so many new things!!) so I already miss how easily I could keep up with my business schedule when I was unemployed and didn't have much else to do xD I've been slacking biiiig time lately (I have yet to download the shooting pictures the cameraman sent me 🥴)

I don't already have another line planned. papi rouge is a slow fashion brand and I'm not going to release new collections that often. The collection that's going to be released is very spring/summer oriented and I'll pull out new items only for winter season (for warmer outfits).

Yeah I did a questionnaire a few months ago as a market study about what people thought of modest clothing and "Christian fashion". In one of the questions, I asked people why they were struggling to find clothes they were comfortable with, and the replies were very insightful.

SHEIN is often pointed for having "slave labor" but this criticism is extremely hypocrite because guess what? ALL fast fashion brand use slave labor. The single fact you can have tees for 20$ instead of 100$ (which would be their price in a Western country with fair wage and proper worker protection).

Also what people don't seem to understand is that factories work for different clients. That's why factories with slave labor might make clothes for SHEIN....but also Zara, Gap, Hollister, etc. That's why it's ridiculous to call out 1 brand, when many other ones work with the same factory and workers...🥴 Sometimes even high-end/luxury brands use shady Asian factories. I remember a documentary featuring an ox fur factory that was using the same fur for both fast fashion AND a luxury brand (I think it was Max Mara?) - the only difference is that they used the "best parts" of the fur for the high-end brand, and the less good for fast fashion. So this whole "more expensive item" = "better manufacturing condition" narrative is a myth.

But I have some recommendations for fashion brands that I really like :

These will only be reserved to Camilla when Charles becomes king. I don't know the protocol, so she might enter the Abbey bare-headed and exit with one of the Crowns reserved for queen consorts (my bet is the Queen Mom's as Charles was really close to her). Or she could enrer with the diamond diadem and exit with the Queen Consort state crown.

These 4 are 100% just Camilla as they are reserved to Queens. Not even Catherinne can wear them. Only when William is king she can.

Camilla will also retain in her rotation the Honeycomb tiara and the Dehli Durbar.

Catherine will either use her loyal Lover Knots or could get Q Alexandra diamond Kokoshnik or Queen Mary fringe tiara (the ones you already posted). I don't see the Vladimir being loaned for the occation and I've a feeling it will be reserved to Camilla as it has both pearl and emerald so more useful than others.

The Girls of GB and NI is the Queen's most cherished and favourite one and we have come to identify the tiara with her. I have a feeling the Queen might leave it to Prince William, so Catherine can be the one to wear it after her death. She has let only Catherine wear very cherished pieces of jewelry (Philip's bracelet wedding gift is an example). I don't see Catherine wearing it at the coronation, unless the Queen has asked her to. Then she will comply.

As for Anne and Sophie they will wear one they have usage of and both Zara and Louise will wear one belonging to their mother.

I din't see Beatrice being borrowed the fringe. If Fergie isn't invited as she might not have remarried Andrew, then I could see Eugenie wearing her mom's and Beatrice wearing either the Greville emerald kokoshin (the one worn by her sister at her wedding) or the Strathmore tiara (it belonged to the Queen Mom).

Meghan will be just be given the one she married in if she is invited. No attention for her in a new tiara. That solves the problem.

As for the Lotus and the Halo I think they are in Catherine's rotation (at least the Lotus) so I don't see them being borrowed on that day.

The Aquamarine tiara and Burmese tiara (worn by the Queen) will enter Camilla's rotation. Not sure about the Burmese as she could leave a ruby tiara to Catherine since she would already have the Oriental circlet.

Background

Zara grew up in the McKenna hunting family. She had a regular childhood until she was 8 when her parents sat her down and explained what they did, but told her it wouldn’t change anything for her. It might mean they have to occasionally move around, but she didn’t have to get involved unless she wanted to. The only rule they gave her was to not tell anyone about the things she heard and saw, it being why they waited until she was old enough to know to keep it a secret.

From that day, she started keeping a little notebook of all the creatures she’d hear about, adding to it over the years so if she did want to get involved, she’d be prepared. She also took self defence classes, and asked her parents how to use weaponry.

Her parents stuck to her word, just getting to be a normal kid and teenager, though talk of werewolves, vampires and other creatures over the dining room table was a regular thing. They never kept anything from her, and answered any questions she had.

When she was 15, her mother came home from a hunt, distraught. Her and Zara’s dad had got separated, having been ambushed unexpectedly, and he hadn’t returned to the car like he planned. The family (Zara included) went out night after night, looking for the body, expanding the search area bit by bit, but he was never found.

Going out searching for her father, Zara saw first hand the camaraderie the McKennas had for eachother, always having eachothers back, and she liked it, asking her mom if she could be more involved. Fresh from the loss of her husband, Sarah asked her to take a year to think about it. That she could come on patrols to observe, and learn what she could to protect herself, and after that year, she’d allow it.

Zara did just that, observing but never getting involved, learning how to use various weapons and other tools. She saw the family never attacked without justification and reasoning, getting victims and civilians, regardless of species, out the way as much as possible. Everything she learnt was written down in her little book.

Going out for her 17th birthday with friends, she told her mom to call her if she needed her, but she reassured her she didn’t. And when she didn’t hear anything that night, she assumed everything was fine. Until she came home to find her father’s sister sitting in their house, looking solemn. Her mother had been killed in a werewolf attack, the pack having gathered intel on their families, and friends, and had threatened Zara’s life. Because of this, she was taking over guardianship of the blonde, and she’d have 10 minutes to grab whatever was most important to her, and they had to leave.

Moving to Creation Peaks, she kept her head down, focusing on graduating high school, and then getting a job with the CPSD, reasoning she could better protect and save civilians from inside the Sheriff’s Dept.

Following Halloween, Zara has lost people she was close to, and is suspicious of everyone now, even those she has trusted in the past.

Random Headcanons

Zara doesn’t believe in telling humans about the existence of the supernatural. She believes that if they knew, the more reckless that thought it was “cool” would investigate, and get themselves hurt, and they’d get in the way of people who knew what they were doing.

Zara tends to judge people based on their species before she gets to know them. She’s open to them changing her mind, and she wouldn’t discriminate outwardly.

In the back of her notebook, she has a list of town residents, and what species they are, should anything happen to her. Over the years she’s invested in a locked box to put it in, the combination the day of her parents birthdays

Her nuanced way of hunting is using hacking skills to look for communication between packs, covens and nests. Others may laugh at her because of it, but her reasoning is if the hunters have adapted the way they hunt, there’s nothing to say predators haven’t as well.

She has a black cat named Luna, who wandered into her aunt’s house on a full moon one night, and never left. They checked to make sure she didn’t have any identification, and once they were sure she was no-one elses, Zara kept her.

Zara lets loose every now and again, and on the whole is friendly to people, but she can switch in a moment to a more serious, sternness should the situation require it. She can lie to protect others, and often will dance around a question without ever answering it.
