That NYE party scene in rwrb when everyone dropped down to the floor except for Alex and Henry, and they’re both gazing at each other from across the room had me in TEARS.
It was so cringe in the absolute BEST way. Did I laugh hysterically at the absolute cheese factor? 100%.
Did my sister and I giggle together and still thoroughly enjoy that scene and the whole rest of the movie? 10000%.
Also I would like to say.. Amazon what was with some of the CGI in that movie??? I was taken out of the first kiss scene a bit because that fake DC background was too much for me.

He grabs at the air behind Zahra’s ear and pulls out a silver coin, beaming.

It is kind of really funny how offended people get when Fjord is illustrated with arms that aren't stringy and with broad shoulders and point to him having 13 Strength when like, a) 13 Strength is considered a notable cut above average, which is 10 and 11, to the point that 13 is the minimum an adventurer is expected to have in their primary class abilities, b) nobody complains when Beau (10 Strength), Orym (10 Strength), Zahra (11 Strength AND 10 Dex) are drawn with good arms.
"Average [stat]" is 10 and 11. Having a 13 in a stat, higher than average, means you actually, by the mechanics itself, have skill in that area and are heading into pretty good. 15 is exceptional actually, not slightly above average. I think people get so skewed by PC stats that they forget that a 18 to 20 is preternatural.
And one can't claim, well, it's because Beau has a high Athletics score at +11 (expertise) because Fjord has a +6 to Athletics (proficiency).
This is not to say that Fjord is incredibly strong or buff or anything, just that like it isn't "more correct" for him to be a string bean. It's totally sensible for Fjord to be broad-shouldered and solid, especially given the profession he's worked in half of his life! (Someone had a comment way back about like, their experience with manual laborers being that many are not necessarily strong but were very solidly built, had great endurance, and knew how to use weight and physiological mechanics to do certain tasks, and that's how they thought of Fjord's Strength to Con scores.) Also, someone being solidly built does not necessarily translate to raw strength.
This brings me to the most important point here: a given set of scores does not actually translate to specific body types, and body types are not related to nor represented by having specific scores.
#The conciseness of the last point isn't to downplay it but bc it doesn't require a lot of articulation and stands on its own.#Don't want to diminish it by over-articulating it.#Critical Role things

But I am an optimist and I will focus on the good which is that they're doing the characters incredible justice, and if I see one person try to deny their chemistry I will A Clockwork Orange their ass to this trailer for days. When Zahra was teaseinsulting Vex by the campfire and Vex threw the Bag, did you notice how Percy’s eyes/glasses were completely white and he was fiddling with his hand? And then a few moments later, he insults Zahra in turn. What do you think that was? Anger? Protectiveness?
Hi anon! went and rewatched before answering and grabbed a screencap while I was at it: just look at how Angy. I'll point out that even when Victor mentioned Ripley he didn't get the Full Shiny Glasses treatment. So Very Interesting, Hm?

so: first thing's first, Percy a) does not immediately respond, he waits for an opportunity to Be That Bitch, and b) he smiles as soon as he finds said opportunity (after Kash and Grog have their belt and beard exchange):
Percy post-Briarwoods has a lot less anger to him. It's been stated before by a lot of people that he's very confident in Vex's abilities: he's not her knight in shining armor.
Hell, even if he wants to protect her, Vax is usually the one to jump the gun (hah!) on that and get defensive. Look at how well that went in Vex's flashbacks, and in the Sunken Tomb: Vex does not take to feeling coddled well at all.
Thankfully for Percy, either he gets that or lucked out, because his default is not to step in on Vex's behalf, but to act as support. In this case, he's taking a snide little potshot at Zahra for snarking at Vex. He did not step in and defend her, or immediately shut Zahra down. Just made her twitch in irritation, and he delighted in the little victory.
Enough not to derail the conversation or put Vex on the spot, but definitely irritate Zahra and chip at her ego a little in retaliation. Which is all Vex wants, when it comes down to it.

RWRB Movie: A fucking List of Potential Extra Stuff
I can only pray and hope that Amazon, Matthew, the boys, Casey and whoever needs to be involved do more with the movie after the strike is over, but here’s a list of stuff related to the movie that I want
All the Deleted Scenes: Extended Polo Scene, Extended Paris Café Scene, Extended Paris Love-making Scene, Morning in Paris Scene (I swear I have been feral over it since the bloopers were released), Extended Texas Holiday Montage (I’m not sure about this one but basically the scene in the bloopers where they shove each other), Texas Campfire Scene (That really doesn’t look like it’s just meant to be a montage, it looks like a legit scene), Extended Texas Scene after Lake scene (I’m also not sure about this one because I’ve only seen one person say this exists), Kensington Breakfast Scene, Brownstone thanksgiving scene, Whatever the scenes from Philip, Pez and Zahra’s credits were from, and probably a couple others that we don't even know exist

A miniseries of post canon Firstprince living their lives (that’s what I want for a sequel, not a plot, just the visual media equivalent of domestic one-shots): Living together, More about Henry’s grief and depression, I can’t tell if Movie Alex has ADHD but maybe more on that, Maybe Princess Catherine coming back and reconciling with Henry (currently writing a fic on it), Maybe? The King reconciling with Henry (wrote a meta on it), Proposal (Casey’s freaking thread reply drove me insane), Marriage, Kids, So like, snippets of the next five years of their lives
(also unpopular opinion but… personally I don’t want Henry to abdicate? It’s an issue I had with the bonus chapter but one of Casey’s IG story wrote about why they wrote it like that, and I realized it might have something to do with me being kind of young and the ideologies that comes with that immaturity. I kinda thought Henry could take a step back without stepping down, like irl Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice who had their own normal jobs and have more of a say in what events to show up to. Idk. I’m a “fix this system” rather than “fuck the system” person, and I think there’s just power in having a gay prince who can keep both his title and his love.）
Yeah I might be delusional but I am also willing to spend money on all of these things so Amazon it’s up to you

An incomplete list of things I loved about the RWRB movie
First and foremost he total of TWO (2) lil bicep kisses Henry gives Alex (my hearttt I will never shut up about this)
Their faces when Alex gets cake on Henry’s coat
That whole scene actually. Comedy gold
Zahra straight up attacking Alex with a pillow for being an idiot
Alex looking and acting like a 10 year old petulant child during the whole hospital closet scene lol
Heny’s little voice crack when he says “I didn’t say ‘get me out of here’ I said ‘I need to get out of here’ there is a difference” BABY
on that note you don't wanna know the amount of times I said 'oh baby' to Henry during this movie :(
The eyelashes thing making it in there even though it’s not henry who says it in the movie but idc because Taylor Zakhar Perez your eyelashes sir
Alex actually grabbing Henry’s hips at the party to show him how to dance WE LOVE A BOOK ACCURATE MOMENT
On that note GET LOW
And Henry saying ‘Did he say ‘sweat drops down my balls?’ I hollered I love that moment in the book
Henry’s lost puppy look when Alex kisses the girls
Nick Galitzine managing to perfectly portray Henry’s mannerisms in the first kiss scene ‘Henry’s whole face grimaces in frustration, his eyes casting skyward like they’re searching for help from an uncaring universe.’ Like he did that perfectly
Zahra being the iconic queen she is
“You’ve been wanting him to dick you down forever”
EVERYTHING ABOUT THE RED ROOM:
the Alexander Hamilton portrait good job movie
Alex being nervous and not knowing how to stand when waiting for Henry (ik in the book this detail was after the state dinner in his room, but idc I love that they at least kept it in this way)
SHUT UP STOP TALKING
Henry’s horrified little moment of realization when he sees Alex isn’t actually gonna yell at him for kissing him but he’s actually into this like Nick Galitzine your face sir!!! It’s so soft and sad and adorable arrgghhh
The detail of Alex hitching Henry’s tigh up around him like in the book
Amy’s ‘oh god!’ when she walks in on them
Henry immediately pretending to inspect the book case and Alex randomly playing with the flowers all ‘ACT NATURAL’ lol that made me cackle

That sex scene was handled with so much care. It was so soft and sensual and they worked their asses off to show their connection and it paid off lemme tell u everyone say ‘thank you intimacy coordinator’

How small Henry looks lying on his side next to Alex afterwards
FIRST BICEP KISS everyone say thank you whoever wrote that in the script

On the deck when Henry is slowly realizing what Alex is trying to say (aka ‘I love you) and nick’s face just goes so desperately soft as he starts to understand that this means he’ll have to leave Alex and then his face just slowly closes off like NICK GALITZINEs FACE ACTING don’t talk to meee
That little moment afterwards that Henry spends underwater with his hand on his heart just…ACHING. Ugh someone kill me
Henry is my absolute baby can you tell
David first appearing. A real ‘and everyone cheered’ moment even though the scene is heartbreaking
‘Do you love him?’ ‘What difference would it make if I did?’ and then that sad barely there smile *insert captain Holt ‘PAAAIIINNNNN’ gif here*
“I stormed a fucking castle to look you in the eye and tell you that I love you, knowing that you wouldn’t say it back. So no, Henry, in fact, this is costing me everything.” LORD
”I can love you and want you and still not want that life. I’m allowed, all right? And it doesn’t make me a liar. It makes me a man with some infinitesimal shred of self-preservation, and you don’t get to come here and call me a coward for it” is one of my favourite passages in the book and I am so fucking happy they kept it. Nick slayed that scene
In fact their acting in that whole sequence was amazing
“tell me to go” NOOOO I love that they kept it but it’s so sadddd
The fact that they actually filmed in the V&A
Henry mentioning dreaming of dancing there with a person he loved and Alex wasting zero time putting on a song (cry emoji)
Henry giving Alex his signet ring like in the book, but then them adding that Alex gives Henry his key in return I AM UNWELL
That little montage of cute intimate moments between A&H during Alex’ speech
