PART TWO !!

While staring at your best friend in betrayal all you can think about how much you regret coming.

Only just hours ago you remember sitting on your bed on the phone with your best friend mars while she ranted to you about how much she wanted you to come. "pleeeeeeeeeeeee ease." you roll your eyes, "i don't feel like it mars."

"ugh," you can hear her shuffling through the phone, "just come with me please? for me?" "mars..." "'Il write that english paper youve been dreading for you." "Fine."

You two arrive at the party and you just follow her around the whole time. You notice than is here. The guy who sits next to you during english who you just so happen to have a major crush on. You've never spoken other than him asking if you have an extra pen during class after he forgot his one time. When he gave it back to you he has this charming grin on his face and you fell instantly.

He's standing next to another guy, you think his name is chad? You cant be bothered to care when he looks in your direction and notices you and your stare, his face flushes as he looks down at the cup in his hand. You turn away and look towards your friend whos giving you a suspicious grin. "what." "go talk to him." "no way."

she shakes her head at you and turns away that grin still on her face and you dont like it.

now you know why you didn't like it. Someone had suggested you guys play truth or dare like fucking children and when it happens to be your turn and guess who happens to be the one giving you the dare. "I dare you to..... sit in the pantry for seven minutes, ill send someone into join you." Fucking mars.

You knew who she would send it, "unless you're a pussy." you glared at her as everyone oo'ed. You huff as you get up and walk towards the pantry and slam it behind you dreading the inevitable.

the closet is small yet you keep your back turned towards the door. Its only maybe a minute before the door opens and you feel another presence enter as mars shouts, "Seven minutes starts... now!" You feel a warm body press against yours as the door slams shut.

You don't turn you dont even look before you begin to speak. "Im sorry." Theres a moment of silence, "For what?" Its him. "My friend mars, she's..... She's probably making you do this im sorry." He probably doesn't even know your name and now she has you standing your backside pressed against him.

"No she isn't making me do this." Now this confuses you as you turn your body, you back side brushing against his front and he whimpers slightly as you face him. "What."

His body gets warmer as if to reflect how embarrassed he feels, "She asked if there was anyone who wants to go in there with you." no way. "and you volunteered." you look at him the best you can in the dark as he avoids your face. "Yes."

"Why?" He pauses for a brief moment, "i've always thought you were gorgeous." Your breathe gets caught in your throat. "I've always wanted to talk to you you know since we sit next to each other but i've never known how to start a conversation so when i got this opportunity i just wanted to be near you-" He's rambling so You kiss him.

Once his initial shock wares off he takes your face into his hands eagerly as he kisses you back. you press him back against the door and he hums in delight. "One more minute love birds!" Its chad voice you think. You pull back out of breath, "Ethan-" he slams his lips back against yours, when you press your body against his he whimpers and hums. you hold him against you as theres a knock on the door,

"times up lovebirds make sure you're clothed because im going to open to the door." Ethan pulls away from the door and you two look at each other in daze.

as the door opens you move to whisper in his ear "We'll finish this later." as you spin him around and walk pantry with a satisfied look on your face. "You're welcome you bitch.

Just realised that you are THE tf2 artist. I've adored your art for years even though I've never played the game, so your art has completely molded how I perceive tf2, like when I think about tf2 I think about your art.

Commander Wolffe gets scolded

Hello! So this is the first in a series of fics I was inspired to write by the ever so lovely @leias-left-hair-bun about the clones experiencing normal kid stuff as adults. I have more in the oven as i type this but please enjoy and tell me what you think!

Despite how some people may have disdain for Clone Troopers, most people are pretty intimidated by them. Huge men; muscular, trained to use deadly force, usually armed to the teeth. Many nat-borns may talk MAJOR shit on clones but most dont dare say it TO them. In fear mostly. So it was all the more surprising when the relatively small, soft looking, kind eyed, woman who worked as head nurse on the Courageous. Looked Commander Wolffe in the eyes. With no fear. And told him to Sit. His. Ass. Down.

Boost, Sinker, and General Plo Koon. All of which came to check up on the commander, stood back in shock. This petite woman. This kindness shaped woman. Who gave little candies to nervous shinies and brothers who behave during check ups. Who created a GAR. Wide. Program. That any Clone who was dying in Med Bay didnt die alone and that SOMEONE had to be there. The woman who sees the details that set every Clone apart. Will scrub a bit of oil off a vods cheek, fix their hair in the way they like it, does her best to know each and every name. The woman who goes around the med-bay during lights out for the patients, tucking them in and kissing their forheads, wishing them a good night. The woman many of the 104th secretly called Buir, right next to General Plo. This woman. Just told off one of THE most hard core clones in the entire GAR and was blocking him from leaving the Med Bay. He had broken a rib or two and demed himself fit for duty.

"Nurse (Y-" Wolffe starts but is cut off with a stern finger being raised.

"Its just (Y/N) Commander, youve been in here enough to know that" she begins, "And if you want formalities its Dr. (Y/N)"

Rolling his eyes and huffing the Commander continues, "Fine doc. I don't need any more medical attention"

"Oh really? Do you not? Tell me, where did you get your Medical Degree?" The Doctor gestures around the Med Bay, "Because incase you havent noticed this is MY Medical Bay and you will do as I say without any pouting"

"Doctor-" he begins again.

"Young Man" She, not yells. It wasnt a yell. Or a scream. It was a firm, considerably deep tone for such a petite woman, and loud. Two words. Two words spoken in a certain manner that stopped all sound and movement in the Med Bay. All eyes turned to her and Wolffe. Fear, respect, and some humor from the other more experienced nurses or medics.

"You listen to me and you listen well" she snaps, "You are going to march your hiney right back to that cot right this instant or so help me god, boy I will put you in it permanently. I have raised boys before and I know exactly what to do and how to act. Just because you're some big bad soldier doesn't mean that I can't knock you down a peg or two. Now I'm gonna count to three and if you arent in that bed I can and WILL take away all your work for an extended amount of time for rest and recovery. That means no missions, no drills, no working out, and anything else I deem fit"

Wolffe stared in surprise, "You-you cant-"

"One" Wolffe sputtered. She glared right back, daring him to continue.

"I'm a comman-"

"Two" and with that Wolffe jolted and was quickly walking his way back to his designated bed. Grumbling a yes ma'am under his breath.

"And put the eyebrows away Commander, I wont have anyone giving me or my medics dirty looks" she finished off firmly, satisfied the Big Bad Wolffe had listened to her warning.

Boost and Sinker snapped out of their shock, snorting and giggling at their Commanders scolding.

"You boys better move it too before I give you BOTH a mandatory full body check up" She warns, "Dont think for one second I'm not aware of your habits at 79's, might have to update the vaccinations-"

"Yes Ma'am!" They booth saluted and went on their way to gossip about their Commanders predicament. Both the General and the Doctor watched them go. Plo placed a clawed hand on the woman's shoulder.

"Thank you Doctor, for treating my men as your own" he warmly thanks.

"Its no problem Plo. I see my kids in them, though they are adults you never stop needing some help every so often" She waves goodbye and goes to speak to Wolffe, in a calmer manner. To reassure him and explain why she had to scold him.

If General Plo was the Wolf Packs father figure, then the Head Nurse of the 104th was their hell raising mother.

If you artists/writers are needing some very specific music to help inspire you and your story writing process, lemme give you some BANGER soundtracks to check out.

1) Tron: Legacy, starting off strong! if you’re looking for futuristic vibes there’s no better soundtrack than this one. It’s majority written by Daft Punk so you KNOW it’s good, and it’s got all the different songs you need to spark some creativity. Definitely one of my top favorites of all time.

2) King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Fantasy heads, this one is for you. I’m telling y’all this one slaps so hard, you’re gonna come up with DND characters for each song even if you don’t play DND. Underrated movie, underrated soundtrack. PHENOMENAL. Genuinely one of the most fun albums to listen to y’all.

3) Pacific Rim, this one is VERY versatile. The specific vibe would obviously be “this is a movie about fighting giant monster demon aliens in a giant robot suit” but the all around soundtrack has a rock central motif that works for anything that needs to be totally. Kick. Ass. Definitely dystopian vibes if that’s what ya need. Listen to the main theme, you will NOT be disappointed.

4) Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse, superhero fans HELLO? Honestly if youve watched this movie and haven’t already been using this album to inspire you then who ARE you??? Got exactly what you need for those modern superhero vibes.

5) Halloween (2018). This one might be a little too specific- obviously it’s got that horror movie tension with a newer more electronic twist. Very strong rhythms, unique sound design, etc. If you don’t mind working around the very iconic Halloween theme, it might be just the thing for you!

6) The Amazing Spider-Man 2, you might not remember liking this movie (even if I think Andrew Garfield is the superior Spider-Man cough cough) but the soundtrack was fuckin DOPE. SUPER intense dubstep shit with an impressive mix of orchestral vibes, I felt no shame in adding another Spider-Man movie to this list. Absolutely genius, good songs for “villain origin” type vibes.

7) Many Beautiful Things, FINALLY a TONE CHANGE am I right? If you want coming of age, romance, emotions and/or heartbreak you have the right movie. These songs can straight up make you cry just from how beautiful they are. Perfect for you 1800s sapphic love stories or fairycore daydreamery.

8) Kingsman: The Golden Circle, that’s right folks I am indeed recommending to you the most confusing album to explain to someone ever. This movie said we’re going mix superspy bullshittery with all the classic American cowboy glory you want and make bucks off it. You wanna do action? Got it. You want old west? Yeah it shocked me too but they got that also so yeehaw motherfuckers.

ok!!! this is my favorite sub from KS month!!!! its absolutely angsty, told in second person (one of my favorite writing styles) and its just... i really love writing from angsty kakashi. like the man has been through so much and i love playing with his trauma. and i am also very, very fond of angry!sakura, and in this one she's absolutely furious. just... i really love the emotions i put into this one, the wording, imagery. super proud of it :')

2. a drop of power (there is an ocean) | T | kakasaku

second favorite from KS month!! angsty just like the previous but its a little more sweet?? i am a whore for "self made monsters" and just two broken people jamming their shards of self together to create a whole. plus, i really love playing with how Kakashi and Saku are just kind of... forgotten when it comes to Nart and Sasuke,,,, like they played just as much as a role but well,,, 👀

THIS ONE IS SO FUNNY TO ME!!! this was a prompt from lyn (roommates au) and i just- LNDSBALKD lee would have a nice ass. AND WE ALL KNOW IT. (sakura knows it too, it is a major part of her downfall HAHAHAHA). this ones super light and fluffy and funny, sakura & akatsuki are so much fun to write i love them so much

4. truths: seek them, tell them, accept them | T | shikasaku

another one in second person (its so much fun to write in!!!!) which means its absolutely angsty with a touch of fluff!! touching on the fact that sakura has worked and worked and worked to make herself strong and be strong and all of that is just looked over, is one of my favorite things. shikamaru seeing her hard work, and seeing sakura suffer, then reaching out a hand is also one of my favorite things.

5. god's pity | T | shikasaku

AAAAAA my favorite from ShikaSaku week!!!! i love the story telling aspect of this one!!! and the roman numerals you're bound to see in a lot of my work (inspired by mousey!!!! who also got me into second person writing) are just AAAAA. this one is a little sad but the end is happy!!! and i just really, really love writing romance through the ages, lifetime after lifetime type shit

a birthday gift for ele!!!! i spent so much time on this one, really trying to make it as good as i could get bc i fucking love ele so much and she deserves the WORLD. you'll find some hannibal references and just "poetry" in this while also a lot of fluff and humor!!! i really enjoyed writing it and i go back to reread all the time :'''') super proud of it

this series was the one that really helped like get me on the radar LMFAO,,, it is completely self indulgent with God Eater Saku and same age KKSK as they attempt to parent team 7 while also fixing everything! so basically; nothing ever goes wrong bc sakura and kakashi said "no." LMAO this one holds a special place in my heart cause i just really love their dynamics and everything :))))))

8. the making of a woman (the killing of a god)

okay! so you've already read this one, but i wrote this for mittens (who is an absolute genius!!!!!!!) and i wrote like three different drafts for it until i finally got to the final one and was like THIS IS IT!!! i usually write a very combative sakura with a temper and can/will kick your ass. but this one, she's much more sly, more clever, uses everything about her to lure in her prey before snapping (which was so interesting to explore). and i love big ole softie kks :)))))

this monster fic has been living in my head since january. its gone through five different drafts before i finally settled on the final idea. i spent so much time (aka: not enough time,, sigh) world building and creating the lore and religion structure for the world. i know things about the world that will never make it into the actual fic. and!!!! i get to write blood thirsty shikamaru in a fantasy setting and its just so cool!!!!! its a hate to love/enemies to lovers story and i am having so much fun with the angst and how magical the world is!!! and the mystery aspects are just AAAAAA i'm so hype and excited about this. i'm 30k in and only 4 chaps + prologue out of 11 chapters so AAAA :)))))

10. a cocoon in the heart, a spark in the brain | T | leesaku

leesaku has such a soft spot in my heart, this was another prompt from ele (who gives the best prompts man, like wtf) that really got out of hand. i just love the vibes from it, very subdued and a little sad but with a touch of humor and fluff. lee and sakura deserve the world and each other. plus, playing with the whole "butterflies in my stomach" and "fireworks in my chest" thing when you have a crush was super fun :))))

I’ll take this opportunity to give some insight into why I keep disappearing. I’m sure folks are thoroughly tired of me announcing a return an then this blog being dead for a good few months to a year. I understand completely, and thank you one again for any and all support.

But I really just have to get a few things off of my chest, and I hope y’all can humor me for a bit.

So, as y’all know, I worked on the @gfdatingsim, particularly as Stan’s route head and the author of his final date. I was incredibly proud and happy (I’m still very, very proud of all the hard work I did), especially as I was writing it and at its initial release. But I didn’t talk about it much or even link to this blog, because of the nature this blog started out as way back in ~2015, and because we were not supposed to promote ourselves in any way through the sos blog aside from linking to a main. I was paranoid that if I even mentioned it on this sideblog, that people would be able to link it to my main, that folks irl would find out or something... and I was embarrassed to share such things on my main blog out of fear of who might be following me. But soon after it became such a massive, huge deal, I regretted not being able to talk about it more directly and fully enjoy the attention the whole thing was getting with the people that loved it so much. And that was on top of the major life changes and struggles that happened just a couple months later that had me completely MIA here for almost the whole year.

And so by the time I mustered up the courage to come back, I felt really awful... not just because I missed what was the peak of the phenomenon due to life things I was still dealing with, but because I was still scared and felt so torn because I was hiding away something that was a huge part of my life for so long. And it’s dumb, but I felt obsolete and like I could never be as good as the new talented folks who were now posting and writing at a rate I couldn’t match, despite a few of them being inspired by something I did. It’s shitty, I know... I tried so, so hard not to feel this way, but my anxiety had hit its peak and got worse after a new traumatizing incident that set me back yet again in 2019.

By that point, I had a full-on aversion to this blog. I would have a physical anxiety/panic reaction to even seeing the title, or checking messages. And that, worst of all, transferred to Gravity Falls fanfics completely-- not only could I not enjoy reading them anymore without feeling terrible and in my head about everything that had happened, but writing them myself-- the thing that once brought me so much happiness and was my way to express my love for a character like I’d never had before-- became a stressor and reminder of all the things I did wrong and that went wrong.

And every time I tried to return and was exposed to stan x reader stuff again, these feelings would spiral and start all over. The anniversary last year started off great, but dug up and revamped a lot of those feelings. And then of course, the pandemic, and now the protests that I hope won’t stop any time soon, which have been taking my attention and efforts to try and do SOMETHING, and not anything for myself right now.

But, TL:DR: this has been looming over me for two years. And I’m so sick of it. I’m SO tired of myself feeling like I need to “wait for the right time”, or like I can just keep living like this, because it’s the last thing I want. I WANT TO ENJOY WHAT I MADE AGAIN!!! I want to find happiness in what I created, those I inspired, in Stan himself because guess what!!! I still love him so fucking much!!!! nothing can match that comfort he provided me!!!! I’m tired of hiding that part of my life, and having to avoid him and the epic work of art I helped make happen to avoid a panic attack and depressive thoughts!!!!

So I’m going to be trying, once again and hopefully for good this time, to come back to this blog and make it somewhere I can be happy to visit. To change my associations with SOS, to not give up on this because I honestly feel so empty trying to leave it behind like this. I’m not done, and I don’t want to be.

This month is the anniversary of SOS, and I really want to celebrate. For real. And I’m working on something that I can do so that I can not only start writing again, but so that I can also use the platform I have, regardless of how petite it may be, to help those that need it right now.

have you ever read girls of paper and fire? it was on one of the lists of books youve reblogged, and i just finished it! youve been really inspiring me to get into reading so i was just curious if youve read it!

Hey there! As it happens, I have read it! My thoughts are kind of mixed.

(spoilers under the cut)

Warnings: Discussion of sexual assault, character death, and general spoilers for Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. 

I enjoyed aspects of girls of paper and fire, but I think ultimately it read very YA, and YA just isn’t my thing. This isn’t to say anything is wrong with it, and I can’t criticize that aspect at all, as I knew that it was a genre that typically isn’t to my taste going in. 

I thought the worldbuilding was interesting and the settings and descriptions were gorgeous. I don’t reaaaally care for human/animal type fusions, but the premise was interesting and mature for YA, so I gave it a spin. I really cared about Lei as I was reading, and my heart hurt for her at so many moments. I also really liked Wren, but I felt that she got very little development, and as a result aspects of the romance felt underdeveloped at times, even if they were very sweet together. That said -- I am a sucker for a “forbidden/secret relationship” angle and I still ate that shit up. (I think the concept of, like... two women in a patriarchal “harem” type setting, falling in love and finding solace and comfort in each other very intriguing. Sort of in a historical sense? Where I’ve always wondered if those sorts of relationships happen. So I was very interested in that aspect of the book.) 

I really, really appreciate and respect Natasha Ngan for writing a book that is 1) set in an Asian-inspired fantasy setting that’s informed by her own culture, rather than what we often see, which is European inspired fantasy settings, and 2) I really admire and appreciate that she wrote a fantasy book that deals with themes of sexual assault and rape targeted at a young adult audience; she deals with it in a way that is compassionate and feels appropriate in tone for her readership. 

The aspects that kept it in an “eh, it was alright” zone for me were primarily the YA aspect, which simply is not to my tastes. I also had a few other issues: I think all the major characters could’ve had a touch more depth; I've seen some criticism of the writing of the character Zelle, who is sort of falls into the “Hooker (Courtesan) With A Heart Of Gold” trope, and then dies at the end, which I felt was unfortunate. A VERY minor gripe i have that is 10000% personal, wholly biased, and not from a perspective of “problematic” but simply something I found annoying and distracting, were the identical twin characters who were basically the same incredibly boring person with rhyming names. This is a little thing that just makes me, a twin, roll my eyes because it felt lazy. 

I also wish that the author had dealt a little more in detail with the experiences of all the Paper Girls, not just Lei, in their relationships with the Demon King. In particular, I would’ve liked to have seen Wren’s side of things a little - she’s in the harem for the purpose of rebellion--but she has also been put into a position where her father figure sent her into the enemy’s inner circle, into a situation of what I see as a coercive sexual relationship - she is there for a purpose she’s devoted to and I suppose in a sense you might argue that she consented to it, but even in a situation where she was completely prepared for what she had to do and saw it as a necessary sacrifice, I’m very curious about the psychological toll. (In some ways, I feel like Lei’s relationship with the Demon King receives more development than hers and Wren’s-- which is like. Fair, I think, because one’s abuser IS a major influence and impact on one’s life, but I think my heart wanted a little more development between the two girls.) 

The book didn’t really instill in me a furious need to read the next one--I’ve bought it, but it’s been sitting on my eReader for months. I’ll probably get around to it at some point. Really, what I want to know about the sequel is if it will give Wren further development, because if that doesn’t happen I’m kinda lukewarm. Overall, I liked the book well enough but it lacked a little something to push it into territory of “really, really” like. That said, I also know I’m biased, as someone who typically is not a huge fan of YA, including the writing style, ways characters are written, and ways relationships develop, so most of this is down to personal taste rather than the evaluation of the book as good or bad.
