I mean LXC dumped a load of trauma on his WY and in context made him confess but at what cost? I not saying WWX confessed out of guilt, he truly loved LWJ and LXC's hate words just made him realize his feelings. But it's not unreasonable that WWX might feel some guilt for what happened to LWJ.

Also LWJ would absolutely hate/deny all those words LXC said about his WY being his only mistake. They might care for each other as brothers would but words like that can definitely strain a relationship.

To deny your autonomy and imply that your actions were pressured/elicited because of love and place blame your loved one. Yikes. I wouldn't want to talk to my brother if that was the case.

🔥🔥🔥 (unpopular wangxian opinion maybe?)

this is kind of an unpopular wangxian opinion combined with an unpopular yunmeng bros opinion but it is my firmly held belief that lan wangji and wei wuxian cannot have a healthy relationship, and jiang cheng and wei wuxian cannot truly reconcile, if wei wuxian does not take jiang chengs side sometimes. I've talked about wei wuxian Rage and wei wuxian Hurt before and I truly believe that wei wuxian both deserves to be angry with jiang cheng, and that it would be Healthy for him to let himself feel any kind of negative emotion towards somebody he loves on his own behalf and not just in defense of somebody else, instead of just shoving it all down

but wei wuxian also needs to be on jiang chengs side sometimes and wei wuxian and lan wangji Need to work on their differences regarding jiang cheng. I very much believe that wei wuxian and lan wangji would disagree on things in general, a healthy and productive relationship of any kind has disagreement - they are separate people, and it would be weird if they agreed on everything or Tried to agree on everything, and, in my opinion, we know that they don't agree on jiang cheng

wei wuxian is sympathetic to lan wangji's frustrations, and probably shares some of them (as I said earlier: wei wuxian Anger wei wuxian Rage), and lan wangji is respectful of wei wuxians remaining love for jiang cheng, but for things not to fester and become ugly there has to be more than a surface level acknowledgement of this, and like I said earlier, for reconciliation to at all be interesting or valuable to me, wei wuxian Has to take jiang chengs side over lan wangji's at least sometimes, and more than that jiang cheng and lan wangji need to know and be comfortable with the fact that wei wuxian agreeing with one of them over the other does not mean he is irrevocably Choosing one of them over the other

I don't think that lan wangji and jiang cheng have to like each other, in fact I am confident that they likely never will, but I Do think that they have to be able to get along, for the sake of both of their relationships with wei wuxian and wei wuxian himself, who does not deserve a second life where he is once again forced to choose what is most important to him and never be able to look back. wei wuxian should be able to love many people and be loved by many people and not be made to feel like he is committing an act of betrayal by making a choice. ultimately I think that it will be far easier for lan wangji to understand this than it will for jiang cheng

it's probably a good thing that so little time is spent on wwx being dead because once I read a fic with jyl pov where she survived and wwx didn't and it genuinely was one of the most painful and heartbreaking things I have ever read. I can't even convey how miserable a fanfiction made me. I was grieving for real

the fact that nmj sent nhs to the cloud recesses during the war really just makes me scream abt how young they were bc nhs, wwx, lwj, and jc were literally so young when the war started and yet nhs is the only one who didn’t fight and that is literally bc nmj protected him. he was allowed to still be a kid bc he had someone protecting him. and nmj isn’t even THAT much older, hes literally in his twenties.

i strongly believe that in any universe modern or otherwise lwj uses lan xichen as a kind of confessional like a catholic priest. he literally comes into lan xichen's room at four pm precisely because that's the scheduled time that he allows himself to share an Emotion with his brother and sits down and says in a distinctly monotone yet perfectly recognisably anguished tone 'brother i have sinned' and lan xichen sighs very quietly because he doesn't want to hurt his brother's feelings and puts down his pen and says 'is this about wei wuxian' very gently and Lan Wangji is like 'mn' because it has never once Not been about wei wuxian. and then he says something that is Kind Of Weird, But Still Not A Sin like 'he fell asleep when we were studying and i watched his ribcage moving up and down for thirty eight minutes until he choked on nothing and woke himself up; am i evil' and once again lan xichen will kind of not-sigh in a way that makes it very obvious that in all other ways except physical he Is, Indeed, Sighing and has to reassure the most rigidly distraught younger brother in the history of mankind that what he is suffering from is in fact a malady known colloquially as a crush

What I always find really quiet heartbreaking is the fact, for all WWX was popular and people wanted to be around him when he was younger, not one single person really knew WWX - except LWJ of course. No one else stood up and vouched for WWX or were concerned that he had come back a shadow of his former, bright, vivacious self after being missing for three months. No one except LWJ.
