reading some of the comments from your "sansa and arya are their own characters" post that supposed sansa fans are going irate over, and omg!
first it's sansa is ned 2.0 and arya is cat 2.0, but now we've got "only jon has any meaningful connection to lyanna" they're are absolutely obsessed with making sure everyone perceive these characters as the one-dimensional tropes as they do🤣🤣🤣
finger-wagging arya fans about how they're soooooo above the stark sisters drama (yet suspiciously have to mention their (1) sansa/lyanna pleading connection lol) and then coming in cold with fourth grade reading level analysis and getting affronted when no one's mind is blown by it.
All I can do is laugh cause they literally couldn't make a single cohesive, consistent point if their lives depended on it. They just throw out whatever fanon is most popular that week in their echo chambers and pray they don't have any run-ins with canon lol. That person was such a clown for jumping into the comment with "Uhhhh Ned actually compares Lyanna and Sansa so" like it was a gotcha and then pretending they don't care about the "fanom drama" once they got corrected. Same thing with the rest of the circus in my replies; I ask them for books quotes to support their claims, it's crickets. I ask that person why they even commented on my post if they were so above fandom drama, it's crickets. They're so used to acting like they own the fandom that they can't handle the slightest pushback (or even seeing a post they disagree with 😂). That's why they block and repost screenshots instead of actually engaging or jumping on posts in pairs, they're scared of people calling out their nonsense.

YOU WERE relaxing by Lucifer who was showing you a great soap opera idea he had as it was a duck version of you and a duck version of him going on a stroll. You clapped with a smile as he goes on about a storyline with his prideful smile. The short duck leader hyper fixated on the story as you just listen and nod until you realized the time. It was a late evening time.
This whole day you spent with Lucifer because he was your first friend and suppose boss who let you in when you fell here. So of course you would love to hang out with him. But sadly the time has come as you got off his chair and waves your goodbye as he smiles sadly at your departure. You left in a wave of whispers as shadows cover your body.

YOU APPEAR in pentagram city in your same appearance as you just left the palace. Sometimes you hated teleporting in whispers as the whispers can affect your hearing as well. As you walk with Neno following you in the shadows with a smile as he make sure you were safe while walking.
You never thought to make yourself a cuddle and your own buddy based on your shadow manipulation power as you thought it would be dumb to make this shadow counterpart of yours like Alastor has. But oddly it was relaxing with Neno by you keeping you safe 24/7 like a pet and a bodyguard. But mostly as a friend.
As you walk you seem to come across a flat faced overlord who smirks as he stops behind you. You kept walking until you felt a hand rest against your shoulder. You turns round to face Vox who has his signature smile, "well isn't it if the shadow themself...how's hell been treating you." You could tell he wasn't for a conversation as you just stare and shake his shoulder off.
You never considered him a friend as you could swear you heard him grumble but still try as he walked beside you with hands behind his back and a shit eating grin. As he kept talking you couldn't help twitch your eye in annoyance as black smoke slammed VOX with a groan as he gets pinned down by the smoke. You lean in his face with a dark expression as Neno towers you with glowing white eyes.
"Listen here, I don't want to be by you & I don't want to see you. If you value your sweet life and sweet technology around hell. ˙qɯıl ɹoɟ...qɯıl noʎ ɹɐǝʇ ʇ'uoʍ I ʇɐɥʇ ɹǝɟıɔn˥ oʇ ʎɐɹd ɹǝʇʇǝq no⅄" you said as your eyes droop black ooze from it as well as your mouth.
Vox wasn't that scared...of course not as his breath hitches in his throat staring at your creepy expression. He nods understanding as your face changes in blink as you swiftly disappear in loud whispers making Vox cover his ears(?).
Vox lets go of his ears(?) as he sees you aren't there no more..he felt a rush at annoying you. He didn't know why but annoying you felt like adrenaline just knowing you can destroy with one hand without that pesky shadow that always company you around. He smiles with his sharp grin as he fixes his tie as he walks to vee's tower.
He couldn't help but like your personality....

ITS A NEW DAY, And shopping with Lucifer's money is quite elegant if you say so. Even if you did not want to at first. But then Charlie wanted you to go spoil yourself as you felt more better about yourself. And shit you must agree it felt good to spoil yourself. So what the hell, you went and spent almost 50k again. But hey, it's their fault they spoil you at times.
As you left a fashion store smiling at the new black clothes and [aesthetic] clothes you got, you seen one of the Vees. Velvette who is chewing bubble gum while on her phone. It seemed as if she was waiting for you as she looks up and smile at you. She waves you over to her as you raised a brow not falling for this "bullshit."
I mean, you don't hate the female Vee. But you know not to trust Valentino after his little performance with Angel dust and stunt on Charlie. Plus what Vox did irritated you as you didn't have plans to listen to a yapping news channel. You could see she was getting irritated as she rolled her eyes walking over to her. Honestly it was funny as you looked down at her which made her look down at her.
"What? You got smoke in your ears eh?" You she had a weird accent...kinda sounds Australian? British? Whatever it was, it was strong as you lean your face close to her which she just crossed her arms eyeing you up and down.
"Jeez, I at least excepted the 'shadow demon' to talk back and say something snarky. But I guess you aren't hot take." She says smirking.
You chuckled at the Vee, "why..aren't you a cute little thing. Where's your owner, Dog." You said with a snarky tone. "So that's what you sound like hm..." she says grabbing you by your collar. Your smile twitched, she smiles sensing your body language but you just sigh at how this was suppose to be a good day...but now it was ruined at this shit.
You gently took her hand off your collar as she kept smirking. "Listen, V needs you and I don't know why but he sent me to get you. That flat faced fuck couldn't stop talking about you. So yeah, I ain't wasting my time on explaining. Just follow me to the Vee tower." She started to walk off as you hand Neno your bags with a kiss to the head. Neno purrs and slithers through the alleys going to the hotel to drop off your bags in your room.
You smile at Neno, but the smile falls as you walk behind Velvette walks ahead. You kept your hands behind your back while eyeing the female Vee as she goes back on her phone. Probably contacting that flat faced fucker about you actually coming with her. But it didn't matter as you could easily leave if you don't have time with the Vees.
"So why does Vox need to see me? He could've just come a face me instead of sending his little friends for him like a little bitch." You say looking around boredly
Velvette just shrugs holding her phone, not even bothering to look or turn to face you. "Don't know, don't care to answer."
You smiled at her attitude, it made you interested in her. "Well aren't you swell. I would've thought you would've had a better answer at least. Since you and that flat fuck seem on topic with technology."
"Yeah well, me and him aren't alike at all. So just shut it, and let me guide you to the tower." She said lastly as she stopped texting whoever and walked forward having her hands in her pockets with a resting bitch face.
You just scoffed as you kept a straight posture as Neno appers in your shadow with a smile at you as he purrs seeing you okay. You held your hand out as he swirls around your hand and hide in your body. You still faced the female's back as she stopped at the Vee's tower.
"Welp, we're here. Just don't piss anyone off. As if you can't help it with your face!" She laughed but you didn't say anything as you just had an emotionless smile while walking pass her.
"Buzzkill.." you heard her mutter under her breath.

Grease (1978)
This film follows Danny (John Travolta) and Sandy (Olivia Newton-John), two teenagers from different worlds. After a summer fling, they thought they would never see each other ever again, but unexpectedly reunite in the same school. Identity in Grease: A Song and Dance
The musical numbers in Grease are very energetic and catchy, but they also play a big role in exploring how the characters navigate their identities. Many songs like "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee"—(I don’t drink, or swear. I don’t wrap my hair. I get ill from one cigarette. Keep your filthy paws from my silky dress)—and "Beauty School Dropout" showcase characters trying on different identities. The characters in Grease don't just burst into song for no reason, their world revolves around music. The energy and choreography allow characters to process their emotions in a big way. In fact, the film doesn't shy away from showing the characters enjoying music and dance for pure fun.
Yet, the world of Grease isn't exactly diverse
It is noticeable that the film avoids touching on any serious social issues of the 1950s, like racial tensions or economic disparity. This creates a sanitized version of the past and ignores the complexities of real life. Moreover, it pushes away the idea of 'Black Joy' as being something achievable even more. The music itself doesn't delve into racial themes, and there is quite literally, only one visible Black character in the movie—Frederick "Dennis" Greene as part of the singing group Johnny Casino and the Gamblers, reinforcing the idea that "Black musicality—the all-blacks-got-rhythm syndrome—of White cinema." (Dyer 98.)
The Ordinary → Utopia
Several elements align with the classic trope of white musicals seeking to transform the ordinary into a utopia; everyone is happy and music comes out of nowhere. Sandy's journey from a demure, "good girl" to a leather-clad greaser epitomizes this trope. Her initial wholesomeness represents the ordinary, while her adoption of the greaser look signifies a transformation into something cooler and more exciting. This aligns with the utopian ideal of escapism. On the other hand, Rydell High itself is portrayed as a somewhat utopian space. Sure, there are cliques and social pressures, but overall, it's a place where teenagers can have carefree fun. Finally, the film's resolution reinforces the utopian ideal. Danny and Sandy reconcile, the T-Birds and Pink Ladies maintain their cool-kid status, and everyone seems to get their happily-ever-after. This all-pink ending avoids the complexities of real life, where there are serious conflicts and consequences for teenage rebellion, and presents a more utopian world.
Circular time?
Black musicals often depict a cyclical view of time, where characters return to their "real life." As Dyer states, "white joy is in a
space freed from labor; Black fun dips into the thing to have a good time while working." We can clearly notice this in the film. The ending suggests the T-Birds and Pink Ladies will stay on this high school path, but there's no real sense of daily life hardship.

Every now and then Beidou will come up to you and try to teach u more Liyuean words, but anytime the traveler sees it they shoo her off, she has a shit-eating grin on her face, while the traveler looks unamused or is at least trying to hide their amusement
(There r so many characters that will take advantage of this and only try to teach you cuss words, at least at first, CHILDE, kaveh, VENTI, Itto, BEIDOU, Xinqiu the little prankster, ppl i can think of quickly god i gotta look at a character list)

You learn much later that you probably should just give up trying to say any of your world's lang. That sound equivalent to each genshin country's lang. bc apparently the few words you know from them are either random shit like "egg, bowl, etc." Or straight up explicit "fuck, shit, piss etc."

The whole thing is certainly confusing for you.
Humans have no real counterpart for black romances like Trolls
Meenah doesn't quite understand it herself at first.
Supposedly signs of a black crush include hating someone but not really understanding why.
Meenah, for some reason, harbors a special kind of hate for you… one she can't seem to get rid of.
She doesn't get it either, it's not like you did anything.
You're just a human she met-
Despite this Meenah finds herself picking up on your traits, especially your flaws.
You're already on edge around Meenah.
Her base personality is aggressive, rude, sarcastic, and mean to generally everyone.
Her trying to pursue black romance with you just feels like her… except very condescending and probably worse.
Meenah's black feelings probably just feel like bullying to you as a human.
Or some odd attempt to start a rivalry.
It's like Meenah is trying to coax out the same reaction from you.
The point of a Kismesis is supposedly to have both parties better each other by recognizing their flaws, similar to other quadrants.
However this romance is much more volatile, even with the right pairs.
Meenah already feels a bit weird trying to teach a human such a thing.
Yet not enough to stop pursuing you.
Yeah, poor thing, you're confused and she is too.
That is until someone tells her what these feelings are coming from.
Aranea may tell Meenah she feels pitch for you, for some reason she feels she'd love this human if not for their flaws… making her pitch for them.
Meenah's confusion lessens when she has her theories confirmed, your confusion is still rather present.
Even when you have someone like Karkat try to explain the caliginous black romance quadrant, you just grow concerned.
As a human you want nothing to do with such a thing.
To you it probably sounds like some sort of alien hate mating thing and it doesn't appeal to you.
This may result in you trying to distance yourself from Meenah, which only fuels her black hate.
In fact… a lot of what you do fuels her feelings, that's the frustrating part.
If you attempt to be friends, if you try to avoid her, if you express annoyance or hate towards her…
It all feeds the obsession.
It only makes Meenah want to pursue you more, even if you don't understand how troll romance works.
If anything, she can take the hate you're festering for her as the start of black romance.
Even if you don't mean to do that….
What's worse is Meenah is an entitled troll.
She feels she deserves you and shows aggression towards others with you.
If anyone doesn't like you she'll take it as them taking her spot.
Then there's the issue that black romance can affect other relationships, which may drive her to isolate you.
In her eyes she feels she's the only one you deserve, flaws and all.
Only she can pick you apart all while kissing your face and nipping your lips until you bleed.
If this makes you hate her, then she's only winning.
Making you hate her will make her quadrant feel complete.
Meenah already knows she'll have you as her Kismesis… it's just a matter of when.

Yandere Blu Pyro Headcanons/Short

Flame.
A raw energy that shines bright intermittently, the heat radiating warmth for those whom encircled it under the cold nights. Giving them ever more reason to draw closer to one another.
A kind of feeling that Pyro can't feel.
He couldn't remember the last time anyone giving him the warmth he often find himself subconsiously longing for.
Have anyone even ever showed him that kind of gesture though? He's not sure about it either. All he remember and think about is fight, kill and burn. Words that repeats itself like some sort of magic spell in their mind.
That's what his purpose is. Nothing more, nothing less.
Of course, it's not like he minds it though, he finds pleasure in each moment of it. It's the one only thing that can really cover the hole in his already bitter heart.
But it still couldn't truly replace their wish for companion.
Yet, he suppose this is just how it is.
Pyro tosses the match into the fireplace and sits back, watching it as the fire became bigger and ignoring the existent of two dead bodies lying on both of his sides.
You stand next to miss pauling, walking through grey and blue corridors into the base, getting ready to start your first day working.
On the way, you made a small talk with her whilst she informed you more about the necessity in your job. You both stopped at a large hall and you guessed that this is the conference room.
You were quite excited to meet new people, having a good feeling that you might also make friends.
You saw miss pauling slightly grimace at your idea but was quick to change her expression and 'warned' you about them being rather subnormal. You let out a small laugh, assuring her that you're be able to manage it just fine and right after you said that, suddenly there was a sound of explosioe just outside the room.

And just fine it was. After you meet and socialized with each members, almost all of them are quick to get along with you. Nevertheless, like what miss pauling had told you, they are indeed tad odd. But you didn't mind that.
There is however, one guy in particular who you haven't seem get to talk to properly. Pyro. The others had warned you about their twisted nature.
How they were just kill their own teammate without batting an eye. Even the tougher guys of the team appear to be fearful of them. And this does frighten you for awhile..
Before you came to a realization that Pyro is colorblind.
Oh, now that made everything makes so much sense now! The way he reacted violently towards certain things and how couldn't see the differences between his team and the enemy. That mask had definitely also caused difficulity for him to communicate properly.
Finally knowing what has been troubling him, you felt sympathy towards them and decided to try approach him once again.
From then, you often follow them on the battlefield, accompanying him to beat the enemy. Pyro, on the other hand had almost killed you because of your sudden appearance, thinking you were a spy. Pyro starts becoming more wary around you than usual. But because you kept on favoring him. he slowly starts opening up to you.
You'd urge him to do various activities with you and the others though ultimately he'd ended up accidentally hurting somebody. so it was just you and them most of the time.
You also made him a small beaded bracelete that spells out his name. You showed your own bracelete and happily told him that this is a friendship gift of yours, aswell as so he can tell the difference between you and your counterpart.
Even though this may seem just like small thing to you, this was however, a big deal to pyro.
The mere thought of you wanting to just be with him already makes his heart beats a little faster. But now? He's all love-struck. Everytime he's with you, there's always that addicting warm feeling. It's like you are the sunshine he had been waiting for so long to come into his dull world.
He's always clinging onto you, protecting you, making you small trinkets and overall always just trying his best to return back all the affections that you gave.
Unfortunately, all these interactions had little by little ignite something more sinister inside him.
He hates how sometimes you could forget about him because you were to busy aiding someone else. He hates seeing others getting a little too touchy with you. Why can't you see that all you need is him? Not them.
Pyro fails to see that you were not only there to just be with him, that you also have a job to do. With intense jealousy over time, he tend go get more possessive and tried to turn others away from you. The other mercs were getting worried yet he actively threaten them physically to stay away.
When you finally did noticed this behaviour, it was already too late.

You cough loudly while squinting your eyes, unable to look properly due to all the fire around you. You fell to your knees, feeling your breath fasten with each second. Too occupied with your current state, you didn't notice the approaching figure towards you, leaving a trail of blood behind them.
Feeling yourself slowly losing consciousness, you blinked rapidly and whilst doing so, you saw bloodied boots infront you. You panicked even more and try to back away but pyro was be able to catch you faster in his arms. You tried to push him away but you were too weak.
Pyro nuzzles their head onto your neck and you can faintly hear his giggles. He rarely does this and when they did that, it used to be cute, but now it only made your heart race in fear even more. Then he tugged at your arm, pulling it close to his face and showing his other hand to you, cruelly flaunting off the bracelet you've made for him. Your eyes widen in dread as you stare back into his black goggles. Your disturbed face contrast to the loving look he's giving.
Unable to deal with the pressure longer, your eyes dropped. You felt yourself getting lifted up and cradled in his arms seconds before finally falling unconcious.
Oh, how you set his heart ablaze.

It had been a long day. The Nevers had done their tests, now the Dean had to mark them. She was already tired after Sophie annoyed her all day. The girl had been sent to the doom room, now her torturer had gone missing! She dropped her pen, it clattered onto the wooden desk, a single lamp illuminated the darkness of her shared office. Dovey had left as she finished a while ago. The dean of evil leaned back in her chair.
She was drained (but would never admit it). She pushed her chair back and took her cane before leaving the office. The dark hallway greeted her with a blast of cold air. She made her way to the stairs and quickly descended them. The guards said nothing as she passed them but stood straighter
"keep the students inside tonight." She mumbled, the guards shared a confused look before nodding. Lady Lesso crossed the bridge, the air attacked her body and she felt the small heat her office offered her leave.
She kept walking to the castle across from hers. She opened the doors and walked down the halls. Usually, they were bright and buzzing with ever princes and princess's but at this time of night the halls were deserted, the lights put out to ensure the students of future good can rest well.
She went up several floors, students were asleep as well as most teachers. She got to the floor she wanted and walked the halls. The fairies flew over and tried to push her back but she just swatted them away and walked past the group.
She knocked on the doors, white doors with vines painted on the frame, moving around to form an arch with golden handles.
They opened revealing the dean for good. She sat at her desk, grading papers. She looked up for a second before her eyes turned back to the papers in front of her. "Hello, lesso. What's your reason for appearing so late?" She asked, Lady Lesso entered and just sat next to, Dovey on the chair beside her.
Dovey ignored her presence and continued grading. In silence. Her evil counterpart kept tapping her hand or shoulder. "Stop it, lesso!" She said, annoyed. She stopped seeing her friend fully. Her posture was slouched slightly and her hair was a mess. Her tie, with was usually dead straight was now hanging off-centre and her sleeves were at different lengths. "What happened?" She asked only to get no verbal response. Lesso just held her hands out. Dovey sighed before letting the dean rest against her. "Long day?" She asked softly. Lesso nodded as her head nuzzled into the dean for goods. Dovey looked at the clock, she'd been here longer than she meant to. Lesso noticed and mumbled something then tried to move. Suddenlt tje fairies flew inside.
They started to squeak rapidly "shh!" They stopped immediately, now taking the scene in..they smiled and suddenlt they were in Doveys room on her sofa. The fairies flew out. Dovey smiled at the dean, now layed on her, her head nuzzled into the crook of her neck, her jacket on the chair, hanging off the back, her cane layed against the same chair. She took her hair down and closed her eyes, the day's activities taken their toll. She looked back down and smiled at the woman against her. It was rare to see even a slight piece of softness from the dean, choosing to find someone never happened, let alone for cuddling, it never happened, she felt honoured that she felt safe enough. She started to play with the woman's hair. She heard the dean sigh contently and felt her relax. After a few minutes, she heard her breathing slow down, indicating she had fallen asleep. Dovey let her head rest on the armrest behind her. She felt the day's exhaustion overtake her. She didn't fight as she fell asleep.
The deans didn't show for breakfast. People whispered about what could've happened "maybe they god lost in the woods!" "No! They must've had a fight! With a dragon!" Anemone sighed as she heard the stories grow more and absurd. She left the hall in search for the two deans. She was ready to snap at them. The other teachers hurried to help her. After searching for a minute or two they got to Doveys room. "CLAR-" Anemone put her hand over Castors mouth. He stepped back "WHAT WAS-" They saw the deans, Lesso was layed ontop of Dovey, her shirt ruffled slightly as her arm draped over the side of the seat, her head layed atop Doveys chest. Dovey had her head turned to the side as her right arm held onto lesso, the other off the side, holding the dean for evil's hand. "Aaaaw." Princess Uma smiled. "Got the camera?" Anemone took a picture before closing the door

"So you both cuddle?" The deans shot their heads up "no! Why would I even touch an ever?" "That's repulsive!" "I agree." "Why would you assume-" Anemone held the picture up. "Give me that. Now." She ran out. "HEY-" "She won't use it. Let her be."

"You know y/n he isn't always like this," Lyle muttered while senselessly scrolling through his datapad.
"He can take great care of you when you are his teammate. Sure, he can be harsh, well almost brutal, but he's a good man. A great soldier too."
"Sure thing" you answer him slowly nodding along to his rambling of the last few minutes. After what happened at the last meeting he had been all around you, being a total counterpart to Quarritch's menacing aura.
In his way, you thought, he probably tried to apologize.
He truly was a bit like a ray of sunshine in the dark gray environment of the new RDA home base. Although you knew that the team had been out of the compound a few times there was never a need for you to go with them.
Spending your days in the clean and disinfected hallways of the RDA had maybe even made you a bit more compliant to Lyle's attempt at swaying you.
" You know doc. If you wanted you could also come with us. I mean it's your job to document all our little adventures, why not see them live ?" He smiled as he finally put down his datapad and now just cheekily stared at you.
"Or at least I could show you around. It doesn't have to be the whole team. Or are you scared ?"
"No Lyle, I'm not scared. I just have a lot to do right now. And it's not like you're helping me anyway." You answered trying to sound uninterested but in truth, the idea to visit the lush jungles of Pandora already gave you goosebumps. Even more together with Lyle.
"Ay. Don't pretend like you wouldn't enjoy it. I can see you smile. Even if it's true with your mysterious load of work. Don't you need to do a more in-depth report on my body instead of always moping around the Lt. ?"
You didn't even get a second to answer as the doors to your laboratory burst open and Zdinarsk entered with her usually energetic character.
"Well, aren't you two a bitter-sweet couple? Seeing this would make the Lt. more than happy! "
"Ah shut your mouth Z-Dog. That's none of your or the Lt. Business. The doc and I just wanted to start a little surveillance tour of the jungle Didn't we? "
"You know what" you answered slightly annoyed by Zdinarsk's usual games. " I would like that. And while you're at it. I wouldn't even mind you telling the Lt. since he doesn't even bother to show up here anyway."
Very proud of yourself you manage to grasp Lyle's hand and promptly leave your office with him following you on foot. "Oh not so quick little y/n I didn't expect this kind of motivation with you. Just give me a few seconds and we'll meet back here again." Lyle laughs at you seemingly also very proud of himself with his tail swinging happily from side to side.
While Lyle quickly storms off you brush a bit of invisible dust off your coat and look around you. Surely you shouldn't keep this old thing while going out into one of the most dangerous places known to man. Dutyfull you make your way to your locker and squeeze yourself into one of the new RDA-issued body suits. A bit too tight for your taste but seeing as you rarely went outside anyway it shouldn't be much of a problem.
You manage to take your eyes off your image in the mirror next to you as you hear footsteps behind you. Turning around you freeze as you stand eye to eye with Lt. Quarritch. Again standing just a bit too close to you and almost undressing yourself with his eyes.
" Have you seen Zdinarsk? " he harshly spits out.
"N..No." you stutter, suddenly feeling vacuumed inside your suite.
"Great." He says abruptly turning around just to look at you again after a few steps with his cold eyes.
" Not bad a suit like this. Almost makes you look like a soldier."
After this you were standing there in the hallway, frozen in place not even moving a muscle.
" God bless me. I must have done something really good in my last life to deserve this stunning scientist on my team" Lyle shouts out loud as he finally arrives for you.
Again, before you can even answer he just lifts you like it's nothing. You just manage to mutter some incoherent sounds of surprise as you turn around on his arms.
Just managing to take one last look over his shoulder you see Quaritch again leaving your office, Zdinarsk behind him. His eyes pierce you even deeper than before. But not only you, it seemed that one of his rage filled looks even hit his most trusted friend and second in charge.

The Golden Globes...
It has been the hot topic the last few days: The Golden Globes. And because there aren't enough opinions out there already, this is mine. Here is my opinion on all of this from the point of view of a teenage girl who would one day like to work in the film industry.
We as a society have had a history with sexism but I'd like to think that in the twenty-first century, we are all equal. Unfortunately, I am proven wrong time and time again.
I was very excited to watch the Golden Globes, as a film fanatic I was very interested in who would win. Being a Swiftie, I was hoping for a win for Taylor and as a huge Greta Gerwig fan I was rooting for at least a few wins for Barbie. I didn't get either but we did get something far worse. yay!!
I'm sure you've seen the 'jokes' that were made but let me recap:
"Oppenheimer is based on a 721-page Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the Manhattan Project, and Barbie is on a plastic doll with big boobies."
"The key moment in Barbie is when she goes from perfect beauty to bad breath, cellulite, and flat feet. Or what casting directors call character actor!"
"Yo, I got the gig 10 days ago, you want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. You’re kidding me, right? Slow down. I wrote some of these, and they’re the ones you’re laughing at.”
“The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL — on the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift."
To make matters worse, he added this in an interview with Variety the morning after The Golden Globes:
"Yes, I’m a stand-up comic but that hosting position it’s a different style. I kind of went in and did the writer’s thing. We had 10 days to write this monologue. It was a crash course. I feel bad, but I got to still say I loved what I did.”
I think that it is disrespectful and the fact that they didn't even think about if it would fall flat or not is horrible. The comments were written by multiple people, so multiple people read them (all men, no doubt) and not a single one thought that it might not go well?? I am baffled. This is not some cheap festival we are talking about these are the Golden Globes! How can something like this go wrong so badly??
I am personally so disappointed about it because 2023 was such a good year for women. The Eras Tour, The Renaissance Tour, Barbie, I can go on.
These aren't just projects featuring women, we all made friendship bracelets for The Eras Tour. We all wore pink to the movie theatre for Barbie and then we all cried for 'What Was I Made For?'. Those are experiences, that is womanhood! and I had so much fun!! I was at the movie theatre and there was this lady and she must have been well in her 70s and she was wearing this beautiful, hot pink (!), prom-style dress and she came up to me and she told me how it was her birthday and she was taking her grandchildren to see Barbie. And if that isn't the best thing you have ever heard then I don't know what to tell you! And that is just one example of how beautiful womanhood is. I am telling you this to showcase that no, Barbie is not just a plastic doll with big boobies. I feel like you would know that if you actually watched the movie and respected the people who worked so hard to create it. It breaks my heart to see people make fun of it like that.
It is so sad for me to see because these are the people I admire. They put their hearts and souls into this and they make these beautiful things. Greta Gerwig and Taylor Swift have worked so hard to get there and they still aren't respected like their male counterparts are. Did you hear a single joke about a man? Me neither because there weren't any.
It is so sad to see because it shows how it doesn't matter what we do, how hard we try or how successful we are. We will never be treated fairly.
It is so sad to see because these are the most successful women in the industry, if they aren't respected, I will never be either.
Loads of people think that these are "just jokes" but I disagree. These kinds of "jokes" reveal how men treat women in society. It might sound dramatic but it is true. It is all good when women make them money and fix the economy, but giving them basic respect is too hard to ask. It makes me angry that a comedian that no one has ever even heard of is allowed to make these kinds of comments about some of the successful women in the world. In the future, they should hire people who are actually funny and not disrespectful (and maybe even a woman? Shocking, I know).

What’s your opinion on show and book!Viserys (Rhaenyra’s father not her son btw)?
Where do I even begin🤦🏽♀️ I apologize in advance because this is going to be a rant and probably won’t be that coherent.
I straight up hate his guts. Sorry not mincing any words because he’s a f*cking idiotic selfish POS(actually that’s an insult to sh*t) Jacka** whose actions(or rather lack of actions cause this MF does nothing) almost single-handedly destroyed an entire dynasty. Seriously f*ck both the show and the book versions of him are literally the worst.
If anyone is looking for one character to blame the Dance on, well look no further than this turd because he’s the reason for all the unnecessary chaos.
Book!Viserys gets 1/2 a point over show!Viserys based on the fact that he never orders Aemma to be cut open, but he’s just as stupid and selfish as show!Viserys.
I think out of all the characters on the show Viserys is the one who’s changed the least fundamentally from his book counterpart. The only major difference is the Aemma situation, he’s not a creepy pedo(cause he and Alicent only have a ten-year age gap), and he “cares” for Helaena and her children in the book(I say “care” loosely because if he cared he would’ve realized that those babies would become targets the moment he died).
Fundamentally, Viserys is a character who is willfully oblivious to what's happening around him. He’s created a powder keg situation yet he fails to notice it because he thinks his word is law and everyone should just blindly follow what he says because he’s the king. He can break tradition because he is king. He can make the rules up as he goes and spit in the face of others because he is the king.
Let me be clear, there is nothing wrong with breaking the precedent of succession for favoring males over their female relatives. However, this dude is a. A hypocrite(the whole reason why he is king is because he was a man whereas Rhaenys who had the greater claim was a woman) and b. A dumb dumb.
The moment Alicent popped out Aegon II he created a succession crisis. You can not tell me that he didn't realize that Otto and Alicent would put Rhaenyra first over their own flesh and blood cause he would never do that himself. He should’ve never married her if he wanted to keep Rhaenyra as heir.
(And as much as I rag on her, you know what, the reason why she’s so horrible is because of him. He was a sh*tty father to her just as much as his other kids).
He was the king. It’s not like he loved Alicent. He could’ve had any number of mistresses and fathered any number of bastards no one would care and they wouldn’t be a threat to his daughters claim like his true born sons were, but what does he do? He marries her anyway.
You could make the argument that oh Rhaenyra was his eldest child so the Hightowers should’ve respected that, but Viserys also helped to facilitate another succession crisis by turning a blind eye to Rhaenyra having obvious bastards(he got lucky that Corlys for the longest time cared more about appearances than his blood).
While everything might have been okay for Rhaenhra had the Targtowers not been in the picture(or if they bent the knee), No one, and I mean no one was going to take those boys being made king and the Lord of the Tides seriously once he, Rhaenyra, and I guess Corlys, had died.
If Viserys actually loved any of his children he would’ve named Aegon his heir, married Rhaenyra off to a man who she could have a fulfilling marriage with, and called it a day, but nope. This dummy really let his guilty conscience(and his nether regions) ruin his family(I believe that even book!Viserys felt some guilt over Aemma dying which is why he kept Rhaenyra as heir and allowed her to do whatever).
If this is your favorite character(I doubt he has any actual fans except god bless him, Paddy) please tell me why because there is absolutely nothing likable about him:
I apologize for posting this yucky picture, but I’m so glad they decided to make him look like a rotting corpse instead of making him fat like in the book. His outsides started matching his insides and it’s what he deserved🤡
Bottom line show!Alicent is a saint for putting up with him and I don’t blame book!Alicent one bit for letting his putrid corpse rot for days on end. He's the reason why House Targ almost went extinct(and why they lost their dragons for basically 200 years).

This is a bit of a rant about Henry and why I think he's mischaracterised a ton, I might make a similar thing about Vanessa (specifically her movie counterpart) in the future but for now I am too tired to write more of this.
The TLDR version of this is that people tend to make conclusions of characters without reading in between the lines. You're always free to make up your own interpretations of characters, but you can almost never tell people the exacts unless heavily hinted at or explicitly said due to the mysterious and jumbled up nature of FNAF. Different interpretations are so fun to look at, but there is a difference between that and trying to force your points into canon when the evidence just isn't there.
Overall, Henry is no cinnamon roll based on the things he's done in the series. He's not perfect and that's what makes a character seem human. However, what annoys me about the "Henry is a fundamentally bad person who doesn't care about others" people (not the people who have their own interpretations or AUs, but the people who try and push and push it on others and/or claim that any other interpretation of him is wrong) is that the only big chunks of information we have about him come from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator and the Silver Eyes Trilogy, both of which show him at his worst and not often at his best. The rest are crumbs that don't tell us heaps, only enough to map out a basic personality.
In FFPS, he'd only just learnt recently that the souls of the children were possessing the animatronics, and he already decided he was going to dedicate the rest of his life to putting them to rest. He cut a bunch of corners because he was so racked up with guilt after this revelation; he was racing to the finish line of his own life. His methods became extreme and even a bit aggressive because he wasn't gonna be around if his plan failed. He burnt Michael because he was a loose end, a literal walking corpse, who is only still alive because he's trying to find his father and take him down. Since that had been crossed off the list, he saw it as okay, which yeah isn't cool, but if he asked Michael he would probably just shrug at him.
The only other time we hear about him in the games is when we hear he's distancing himself from Fazbear Entertainment around FNAF 2, and for a few years as well, meaning he probably left sometime after the Missing Children's Incident. Besides the springlock suits, since he made them, you can't really figure out who was in charge of a large majority of Fazbear Entertainment's weird safety decisions because he was absent. Whether or not you think that was him is up to your interpretation.
In the Silver Eyes, we get to know just a little bit about him from before the murders. He's caring, but distractible. He's friendly, but a recluse and deep down very lonely. He's intelligent and creative, but he's still very naïve and gets overwhelmed by his grief, pushing other people away including his own family to try and bring back what he lost, only losing more in the process. By the end of his life he had made a ton of horrible mistakes and decided he'd done permanent damage to himself that wasn't worth trying to fix. We learn that he was pretty okay before the murders, not perfect but he was trying, but his daughter's death and the subsequent Missing Children's Incident ruined that.
So, in conclusion. Bad person? Good person? He's not truly either. He has good intentions from the beginning and is friendly, but he's reclusive and doesn't really speak up about things, only really focusing on what he loves. Unfortunately, he's also very fragile and is willing to go to extremes once the stakes are high and his mental state is broken. So, he's not perfect or "pure" by any means, but he's still an alright person who only really wanted to entertain people and live with his family. I think it's weird we never see him at his best. This is also one of the reasons why I think it'd be cool if we had more content surrounding Fredbear's Family Diner, I think it would clear up a lot of stuff, not just that, but also about the early days of the restaurant, how it got big, the dynamics in the Afton and Emily households, and how William Afton truly acted from the beginning.

Let’s be real. I bet that if Aang looked like Zuko, you all would ship Kataang. Just admit that you think Zuko is attractive and not Aang. And Zuko may be your type, but he isn’t Katara’s. She never expressed any attraction towards Zuko, not even a subtle attraction like she did towards Haru. You may not think Aang is attractive but Katara obviously does. She has her own taste.

No. Even if Aang looked like Zuko I wouldn’t ship it because my problem with their relationship has literally nothing to do with aesthetics and everything to do with the fact that Aang doesn't respect Katara's boundaries.
It also has to do with the fact I personally identify with Katara's passion and have been with a partner who hated conflict/confrontation like Aang, which wasn't a great time for me. It is a deeply personal dislike based on my struggle to make my feelings more palatable and toned down for my male counterpart in the relationship. It was painful and I see that part of myself in Katara, who handles all of the attempts to get her to calm down and do the easy thing with a grace and strength I can only aspire to.
Also it's a bit disgusting to assume some random person's type. It's at the very least rude. You know absolutely nothing about me and the argument that you're insinuating is that I want to "fuck Zuko." Whether that's your intention or not, that is the implication and it's completely disrespectful of the aspec Zutara shippers, which I personally identify with, and any Zutara shipper that is not attracted to men. Please take a solid look in the mirror and think about that.
And you know what, yeah. I don't think Aang is attractive because he is a literal child. No one except maybe other children should be finding him attractive!!! That's weird.
Additionally, Katara literally tells us her type in "The Fortune Teller" if you missed it. She specifically mentions that she hopes her partner will be tall and handsome. Aang is neither of these things in the show, and he shouldn't be because he is a 12-year-old child.
And yeah, Katara doesn't express any interest in Zuko but literally what does that have to do with the conversation? This about Kata*ng and how a lot of the scenes in the show make some women uncomfortable. Zuko does not fit into this equation at all.
I also noticed you mention Haru and not Jet, someone Katara is most definitely interested in. Jet and Zuko look strikingly similar and if Jet is Katara's type, I see no reason why Zuko wouldn't be, although I will admit this is speculation, but it's pretty well founded if you just... look at both of them lol.
Katara is welcome to have her own taste. I have no issue with that, but what I find odd is that the guy she ends up with is one she shows little to no interest in during the show and the ones she explicitly shows interest in look nothing like her canon love interest and are instead tall and handsome. Your argument could carry some weight if she actually ends up with Aang when she's older, but she doesn't.
And also we don't need to see her express any canonical interest in Zuko to ship it. We're here for concepts and the chemistry, although I can see how that can be confusing to someone who's main argument for their ship is that its canon and everyone else should just move on.

very long text of me talking about tooticky idk if this is an "analysis" or whatever. just rambling about trying to grasp her truest canon self vs 1990/2019 adaptations vs my daydreams + i used a filter for proper capitalization and punctuation so it's more readable. i am sleep deprived and in love with her so i don't know if it makes sense
Ok, first of all, it feels weird to analyze this as 'I wish that' or 'I would like' because the basis of it all is a woman's children's books in the fifties, where a lot of the inspiration was personal stuff (and she went on for the first two books despite almost no success). It's not like modern-day media that clearly caters to online fandoms—so I don't know how to word stuff like 'I wish Tooticky had more protagonism' in the sense of where do I exactly wish she did? If I'm talking about a remake, it's important to stay true to the author's legacy. I don't feel entitled to make such statements. I think Tooticky and Ninny are so interesting they could take the role of Snufkin and Moomin respectively, but they did not show up that much in the books, so an adaptation like that would be unfaithful and pandering (to me specifically).
I could choose to word it instead like 'I wish I saw more Tooticky in fandom,' but here, I also think it's wrong to tell people what to do when it comes to free art and fics they post on the internet. People should have fun with whatever they like, even if it's already popular or out-of-character (OOC-ness can be subjective when it comes to nebulous characters anyway).
So, I mostly just make my stuff quietly and leave it there. But I finally watched S1 of MV2019—and I can tell people might get more 'demanding' with this show because they're obviously already taking some freedoms despite the clear intent of staying faithful to (mainly) the books, but adapted to the episodic nature of 20 minutes each. I would say they openly choose to give Snufkin more protagonism than he actually has in the book and deliberate choices. So, this makes me look at Tooticky, and I sniff audibly like 'Damn, this could've been you.'
They also gave him more feelings, tbf I see why because he wails when the sea is gone in 'Comet in Moominland' (first example that comes to mind), and I think the '90s is a bit on the other extreme like he's TOO chill in 'Tanoshii Mūmin Ikka.' I would say the books are a middle point between 1990 and 2019. And I can also see the basis of why this character could be gay. Like, let's be serious for a moment, we need to admit this is a fandom conception, but it has some basis given the author's life—HOWEVER, I think Tooticky is more blatantly gay than he is. Not just the butch part, but mainly based on who she's openly modeled after. I don't think it matters she doesn't have a girlfriend or anyone she's very close to in canon. She's still an icon.
Now let's move to her personality. I think Tooticky's character is a bit nebulous like Snufkin (who I keep bringing up because it's the non-winter counterpart); like we don't really truly know what they do when they travel, that contradiction between being social and warm but a loner and distant, and that (at least, sticking to books) we don't know how deep their emotions can go. And I can't make this up as a fan, at best I can label it as a 'headcanon.' Seeing how Tooticky has been adapted in 1990 and 2019, I realize they make her very sweet. Tooticky is normally described as uncompromising and deadpan so if they tried they kind of failed. The mysterious and weird vibe is a bit gone. Snufkin is allowed coolness in 1990 and emotional depth in 2019. I wonder why this choice for Tooticky then; because she's an older woman, she must be mother-figure-like? Tove was not going for this at all. Fandom interpretations add her more 'coolness,' though I think this coolness is inspired by the comic strips.
I WILL FORGIVE HER SWEETNESS AND WARMTH BECAUSE THIS IS SO FREAKING CUTE, though my thoughts in ep13 were "Moomin does not deserve her", Ninny deserves her more, but that is beyond the point of whether it's IC of Tooticky to act like this or not
Despite what I said about her not being overly sweet or motherly, I think her presence is comforting by itself. In 'Moominland Midwinter,' I think Moomin is really 'going through it'. The whole book felt like, to me, a metaphor about growing up (I say this as the characters are no longer referred as children it appears), or Tove's losses she was going through by the time she wrote it, or what causes depression. Which is reflected in that desolate landscape, no one familiar like Moomin's parents or Snorkmaiden being awake, nor his friends Sniff or Snufkin being present. Just edgy Little My, and Tooticky.
I can understand why Moomin doesn't show any kind of appreciation or affection to Tooticky; he has a very heavy heart at that moment. However, it makes me a bit sad no one truly seems in-canon appreciative of Tooticky despite how... epic she is. I guess because she's only there when everyone is sleeping, but still. Snufkin has Moomin and even has in-universe 'fans' like Teety-Woo. Tooticky has her invisible creatures who love her, I guess?

This leads me to why I wish Ninny was permanent in MV (again, for reasons I explained above, wish = headcanon). I can see why they didn't do that choice (adding Alicia instead or whatever; I love Alicia, but I'm making a point pls :joy:): post-invisibility Ninny would perhaps be too much of a Little My clone. But when I say MV2019 took some liberties, well, Ninny's final place to stay is not stated in the books. The 1990 anime in the original Japanese dub says she returns to her aunt, who ends up 'missing her' (and wow, I can see why they changed that to leave it ambiguous again in the English dub). 2019 randomly makes up that Tooticky has a sister to argue where they left Ninny at. And here's where I say... why not say Ninny stayed with Mymble? This would solve three things:
Ninny being permanent in MV
Adds a link between Mymble (Jr)* and Tooticky. Come on, people want them to have a connection after that one arm-clinging illustration.
Listen, I think Tooticky being lonely and comfortable with it is very much a part of her character; I think making up a relative for her is not a good move that contributes anything and more like decontributes.
The Mymble house indoors is never shown AFAIK so it wouldn't matter if they decided not to show Ninny again, just say she's there.
((*)BTW, I think I heard Mymble Jr. has not shown up in S1 to S3, but I've only watched S1, so I'm not sure. I have fears Tooticky will not show up again after S1 either. I'm going to cry.)
Like I think Tooticky would be aware she would not be the best caretaker (again, I don't view her as motherly; 'auntily' maybe, if anything lmao) and wouldn't want to keep her isolated anyways. I think Mymble Jr. also would enjoy having a calmer girl around she can read books with and braid her hair and whatnot. Little My's reaction to this would be interesting also.
Coming back to my point of being lonely, I think this could also be part of why Ninny could admire her, in part because she sees herself in Tooticky. So, I prefer Tooticky relative-less because, unlike other characters (Moomin, Mymbles, Sniff), Ninny has no relatives except an abusive one (actually not even blood-related in her original story). This is why I said 'Ninny and Tooticky could be the Moomin and Snufkin of Moomin.' If you keep Tooticky's original 'impassible, panders to no one' attitude most of the time but make her soft for Ninny, and add Ninny's past-influenced possible emotional attachment to her despite Tooticky keeping her distances (which here feels even more justified than Snufkin and Moomin having the feelings they do for each other; not saying all feelings have to be grounded in rationality, but yeah), it really hits. I'm not going into why Ninny might, could, probably be a lesbian as well because I'm kind of tired at this point and this is about Tooticky, but I don't mean this in a ship way it's more like a mentor relationship and I'm drawing parallels to Snufkin and Moomin dynamics for other reasons so people can understand me because I do see the appeal in snufmin.
Overall, I like to write about Tooticky, but she's mostly taking a counselor role in my stories, not just with Ninny but with the Groke as well (in the end, it's an equally lonely and sad character, the difference being she inevitably harms others while Ninny's invisibility just reflects pain on herself). I think, 'I never write about Tooticky's own problems, poor her, she deserves to be sent a whiskey crate,' but I literally don't know what kind of problems would be in-character for her to have. And when it comes to her life and past, I also make her intentionally vague, like she enjoys obscuring it to in-world characters and to the reader. Because anything else feels like going too far and writing an oc. In the end, I understand this is a highly personal character for Tove that was only created later in the series, so I would feel bad for desecrating it.
But regardless, talk to me about Tooticky and feel free to contribute because I tend to miss a lot of stuff. I realized I skipped the opportunity to send people I follow Tooticky questions for that character ask game everyone was reblogging, and I'm so mad at myself for thinking slow lmao.

It's so hilarious that some people desperately want Aegon to be Daemon's parallel and foil despite it's doesn't make any sense in terms of characterization , narrative and in terms of themes as well. Just because you know they happen to like Aemond and don't want him to be associated with daemon in any possible way. Despite the fact that Aemond was literally created in the first place to be Daemon's foil and therefore Aemond's whole characterization, his arc and even his death all of it have been made in the way they are in the book based on this simple fact , that Aemond (and none else beside him) is Daemon's foil. Aemond will never be Jon snow or jaime lannister type of a character no matter of how many times the showrunners try to whitewash him . His arc will still be the same despite everything else. That's fine to like Aemond and appreciate him for the villain he is without trying to make him this pure good-hearted person because none in the dance of dragons are . And Rhaenyra is the Matilda of this story and Aegon ii is Stephen ii , so yes Rhaenyra's true foil and parallel is her little brother who was the person who took the throne away from her and ended up killing her like Daemon ended up killing his foil. The only reason why this corny dialogue exited in the first place "tis i who studied the blade and philosophy" is because ryan got a boner for Aemond of all the other characters, while calling Alicent a woman for trump at the same time when she was a charismatic political shrewd and strong woman in the book (mix of margary and Cersei) this is woke misogyny at it's finest
I agree with Daemon/Aemond being foils and Rhaenyra/Aegon being foils, highlighted by the fact that they die by the hand of their narrative counterparts.
That being said, I'm not gonna lie to you, I really love and much prefer what they did to Aemond in the show. It proves that they can take what was basically an anime villain and properly build him up and humanize him. Generally speaking, I much prefer it when characters receive the multi-layered treatment, because it's better for the story overall to have complex characters than one-note NPCs. So I don't take issue with show!Aemond and wouldn't change him. And, yes, that goes even for team black - I don't have a problem with Rhaenyra being more sympathetic as I have with the unbalanced way the factions are presented.
But I must wonder, from a story telling perspective, when they all sat down thinking how to adapt FB into HOTD, how did they look at the text and decide that Aegon is the awful one (taking Mushroom at his word), whereas Aemond is the one who should undergo a rehabilitation?
Because, at the same time, you have this weird situation where Olivia doesn't know how to apologise more for Alicent in interviews and makes concession after concession to Rhaenyra-sympathizers, like how clearly Alicent is in the wrong to prioritize her own son's ascension over Rhaenyra's (?) or how her two sons are terrible people and she just ends up upholding the patriarchy for her male children.
But, then again, how is Aemond so terrible judging by the way he has been written so far? He hasn't done anything other than do his homework and brood. I find it very hard to believe that Olivia looked at Aemond's characterization in S1 alone and came to that conclusion, so IMO it's more possible someone briefed her to say that. But whether it was Miguel Sapochnik's idea to push for this narrative of terrible Aemond (though he directed the Driftmark episode) or it was Ryan Condal's idea, I cannot say, but something is happening, because they are not on the same page.
Someone in the creative team must really like Alicent to push for her humanization, but someone else must really have it out for her, hence this inconsistent messaging and the flip-floping in her motivations from episode to episode. And it's funny because, by targeting Alicent's capabilities as a mother, they also end up damaging Aemond's pristine reputation. So, which is it? Is Alicent a bad mother and Aemond a psychopath (although you took great pains on screen to show him differently) or is Aegon just an outlier and she has 3/4 lovely children who are just doomed to be irreversibly changed by massive trauma?
It's extra strange because Aemond's characterization is very straightforward and consistent, he doesn't flip-flop in his motivations and desires, so the writers must have decided on a clear thread with him and are seeing it through. Whereas for Alicent, they tell Olivia that both her sons are awful (?) and that she deep down thinks Rhaenyra would make a better monarch than her children.
I know there is a possibility that, when she was making those statements, Olivia was just influenced by the character work she is doing for S2, in which Aemond's character will get darker post-Storm's End. But she was still referring to Alicent in The Green Council, when she's actively making preparations to crown Aegon at Rhaenyra's "expense". Before Aemond has had any opportunity to go berserk. There have been way too many instances in which the people involved in the show, whether they be actors, writers or producers (or even GRRM with Daeron) came out and publicly said one thing, while the actual media text doesn't hold that up at all.

I tried redesigning Lagoona Blue from the 2022 Monster High live action movie
(they couldn’t even make the quirky blurb sound right. “the bestie with a bite” sounds better 🙄)
so. when I first saw the trailer for Monster High: The Movie (2022), I had trouble trying to find Lagoona. then I searched out promos and YouTube reviews, and was horrified to discover her movie design. compared to other characters—where they at least tried to make them look like their original counterparts—she looked so unlike herself I wouldn’t even begin to think it was her if you told me.
a human skin tone instead of greenish blue, barely noticeable fins—a general lack of obvious sea monster features, and the features that are there are immediately toned down by the fact she looks too human, which is completely not the point of being a sea monster. the outfit they chose for her also makes her look like an Instagram influencer? I can tell what they were going for, but they failed because they seemed to be too scared of accessorizing her more fittingly and made her sorta “normie-fied”. they probably thought going all out would be outdated and cringe or something.
I was devastated. so I took matters into my own hands—I decided I wanted to fix Lagoona Blue’s movie design. she’s one of my favorites, if not my top favorite nowadays because I really love sea monsters. there are so many different ways to design sea monsters, and they did this? lackluster, to say the least!
ta daaaa! before I break it down I feel like I need to pardon myself for being shamefully unaware of many modern fashion trends, but I tried to style her best I could to what’s sorta trendy with da kids these days.
now, if I allowed myself free range, I would’ve designed Lagoona a completely different way. but I decided to challenge myself a little—I wanted to redesign her based on the specific aesthetic the movie wanted, and tried to make it somewhat reasonable enough for a Nickelodeon musical budget.

I’ll start with her outfit. instead of the sporty but stylish beach vibe Lagoona usually has, the movie seemed to gear towards a shiny rainbow appearance, still with a bit of sportiness. I think they want her design to evoke whimsical bubbles and pearls, which they almost achieved, but they simply did not have enough to get that across. I’ve seen several people say how she looks like she’d be the daughter of the unicorn, not a sea monster. in my redesign, I stuck to the pearly pastel mermaid aesthetic but added more things that would make the vibe a little clearer: holographic tank top, pearls and pearlescent jewelry, holo platform sandals, holo hair tie, iridescent lip gloss, pearly rhinestones on iridescent makeup, and pastel “mermaid hair”. I probably could’ve eased up on the holo, but you can tell they wanted her to be colorful. these things at least all evoke whimsical pearliness, when all she used to have were a rainbow mesh shirt, drop earrings, silvery scale short tights, metal octopus bracelet, some other kinda chunky bracelet, and see-through iridescent boots. I love a metal octopus bracelet as much as the next guy but it feels like they threw things together.
the next thing to tackle was adding back more sea monster features. I’m not entirely sure why they didn’t want to paint her skin like other characters. even Frankie got to be greenish blue. maybe they were afraid it wouldn’t fit their new aesthetic for Lagoona? they did give her some features, I’ll give them that. she has purple nails made to look like claws, back leg fins, ear fins (though I didn’t actually notice these for the longest time), and at one point in the trailer she got to show off some CGI monster teeth. but the fins are small and blended into her human skin tone, making them hard to see and honestly kind of ill-fitting. of course, I remedied much of the issues here by giving her back her bluish green color and arm fins. I don’t know if she has sea monster teeth for the whole movie or just the CGI scenes, but if she doesn’t I made sure to show off my version. I also gave her webbed fingers, but honestly I’d let those slip—I can imagine giving someone special FX webbed fingers is probably frustrating and limiting, especially on a lower budget. as a final touch, I added little patches of scales. I figure they could maybe pull this off with just makeup like this:
anyway, I guess that’s it then! I’m no fashion designer nor a costume designer, I just wished they were a little more inspired with Lagoona’s appearance (and everybody really, but I had to do my girl Lagoona a little justice). I understand if some things are unreasonable, things can be mixed and matched—like, if you don’t wanna paint her skin then maybe just the faint scales on certain areas. anything to still show that she is a sea monster, at a monster high school.

How would Kaede react to Natsumi picking on a random classmate and telling them to kill them selves, because they are more talented than she is? I’m basing Natsumi on her game counterpart where made death threats to her classmates because she’s jealous of them.
Look Kaede loves her sister, but her least favorite trait of Natsumi's is her bullying.
So if she were to catch her sister telling ANY of them to kill themselves it would start with a stern talking to. If she caught her doing it again it would escalate into 'I know too much dirt on you for you to be doing this'. Three times the charm and she'd have to face the wrath of Kaede.
Natsumi: You should go Die Koizumi.
Kaede: >:( Natsu!
Natsumi: I'm much more- OW! Don't pinch me!

Natsumi: What kind of talent is Child Care Giving?
Maki: What kind of talent is being a lil sister. It's not like you did anything.

Natsumi: *forcing a smile* I admire that your talent is Unique, even though you can't really use it here.
Maki: ... If it weren't for the laws of this land, nad the fact you're my best friend's sister you'd be dead right now.
Kaede: ... Maki... Go before I tell your Space Himbo you're being unfriendly again.

Natusmi: You should really just go jump of a cliff you useless piece of-
Komeda: Bold words coming from someone with no talent! I'm curious, as an only child, how does it make you feel to be the only talentless sibling? Do you make a good stepping stone.

Komeda: Of course, I don't deserve to be in the same area as such talent.
Kaede: Natsumi!
Natsumi: Fuck... Kaede, Twinsie, he started it!
Kaede: You have 1 day to apologize to everyone you've threatened since school started, and I will be keeping tabs on it. And if I hear you threaten one more person or told them to harm themselves I will make your life a living Hell until we Graduate.

Kaede: You know what I'm capable of... I'm surprised you even went this far knowing just how much I know about you and your secrets. I will expose you in front of the Entire Kuzuryu Clan.

Kaede: Every time you overspent on your credit cards and blamed it on someone else. Every single expensive decor piece you broke or ruined. Every time you 'borrowed' one of moms things without asking. And I'll show everyone those embarrassing photo's from elementary school of us.

Kaede: The difference is I have a good reputation and it will be seen as quirky and cute. You and the other hand? Will live in a constant cycle of people reminding you of it because of how embarrassing and cringy it was.
Natsumi: ... I'll tell Fuyuhiko that you're trying to blackmail me! And he thinks your better than this!
Kaede: I'm not afraid to prove him wrong.
Natsumi: I'll tell dad your fucking a detective!
Kaede: So? Not like he can do anything.
