since i finished tfp, and au where ratchet ends up joining megatron and really really becoming deception, and it breaks optimus. meanwhile, starscream feels a mixture of jealousy and anger toward the mere idea that an autobot is at a higher position than him and of course, megatron rubs that in his face.

when cybertron is restored, the autobots are made criminals and are hunted down. in a strange turn of events however, starscream defects from the autobots and joins optimus. at first it's out of survival but then he really, starts to care for optimus.

optimus is broken, he's sad, he's defeated. he's gone through torture and depression, and he has no will to fight anymore, starscream gives him that will and the two eventually work together. the autobots don't win but they form a treaty. they have their own lands and live away. starscream follows optimus of course, and optimus is old, tired and just stationary but he is happy and starscream takes care of him.

ratchet is happy with his life but he also feels guilty. he didn't just join megatron to spite optimus; he did it because he wanted Cybertron to change and it did. his one condition when working with megatron is that the autobots are able to live, regardless of what megatron wants. reluctantly, megatron agrees which is why he frees optimus and the others. ratchet wants to go back to see them but he knows he's not welcomed. and he, despite absolutely hating megatron at first, realizes and accepts that they're alike in so many ways. and at the end of it, megatron gets to be ruler of Cybertron, and ratchet gets to help with that.

Ok,lemme start:

In this scenario hot shot and starscream are meeting in secret (I don't know of another Cybertronian ship that matches him in Armada).One day Star simply disappears with a group of minicons and the situation becomes even more confusing when Megatron starts demanding that the bots "give back their SIC". After days of searching, they find a sign of them in a very isolated and densely forested area, meaning that the smaller bots have to go first to look for answers.

Only to find a "hut/mini-house" with Starscream sleeping, exhausted, and what appears to be a litter of sparklings in a nest of blankets, with the mini-cons doing a thousand things

Both factions are like "WTF, when was that?!" Just for hot shot to pass out

(because you all introduced me to this trend, I was going to put the jettwins on but I didn't want to seem repetitive, so I said to myself "just give me more brothers")

ohhh that's so little and tiny and small

Honestly just imagine Armada style minicons interacting with full sized sparklings

Can minicons have sparklings themselves, can we get sparklings: minicon edition?

Another thing that I appreciate about TFA StarOp is the sheer comedic potential of it all. Yes from the Autobot “you’re dating WHO” side, but also from a Decepticon perspective. Like, you have Air Commander Starscream, who is considered to be one of, if not the most attractive flyer in the entire Armada. He’s like the pinnacle of Seeker aesthetics, huge wings and all that, and you hear that he’s apparently found himself someone. Oh, you think, damn, wonder who the lucky guy is, only for the news to be broken that it’s this random, tiny-ass red and blue spacebridge repair crew Autobot, in other words, just some guy. And there he is, with his arm wrapped around your Air Commander’s waist because that’s how fucking short he is. What the fuck.

Back at it again XD

KnockBee - Yes, yes, yes. Beautiful ship. Racing bfs <3 I wouldn't go out of my way to claim that Knockout and Bee have a rivalry (certainly not in the way Bulkhead and Breakdown, Megatron and Optimus or *gags* Arcee and Airachnid do), but I do believe that they see each other as challengers. They can bring out the best in each other and would 100% have a healthy relationship. Knockout's a doctor and has an obsession over someone's looks, it would not be a stretch if I were to say that Knockout is more than capable of reading someone's body language with ease. Bumblebee's a scout, if he can pick up on environmental indicators, he can pick up on body language indicators. The two would be perfect for one another, able to tell what the other needs without a single word being said.

There's also so much hurt/comfort potential for it!

StarOp - The first time I found out about this ship I thought it was a joke. I could see it as a one sided thing where Starscream doesn't know how to handle the way he feels when Optimus treats him with respect and values him, but honestly cannot see it the other way around. If you ship it, go off, that's awesome! I just personally don't see it.

Starbee - Haha.. hah.. *cough* I can see it. Without a doubt. They should've kissed in TFRID 2015. They have a dynamic going on in some comics. I like it. As l o n g as it's respectful.

Bumblebee with either Jettwins twin - Once again, not too familiar with TFA so am going off fan depictions. It's cute, kinda chaotic (I vibe). If it's legal, go off. A lot of the stuff is a funny mix of 'annoying/feeling annoyed' which is hilarious and just partners being sweet, which is adorable!

What made you ship it?

I can'r remember exactly what made me ship it. I think I just saw mentions of that elusive Skyfire and was interested in who he is. I liked the idea of them together before. but then when I finally watched "Fire In The Sky" and I just.....completely understood

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

SkyStar is such a gorgeous wonderful ship that tugs on my heartstrings completely. there's just so much complete love and emotion for them. how they knew each other before the war and how they had to be away from each other for so many years later.....but then when they see each other again, they're not the same as they remembered

I just love the inherent tragedy of this, how Jetfire (I'll refer to him like this I'm just used to this name) wanted to return to his beloved's side but Starscream is not the same as he remembered. the worst of his personality came to the surface, instead of the curiosity, wonder and wisdom he had before. and the same with Starscream, I feel like he knows that Jetfire was right and yet couldn't say no to things he had believed in for so long. was he longer a Decepticon than he ever knew Jetfire? longer than he ever loved Jetfire? Starscream doesn't know either

and I feel like there's just this thing abt the tragedy between them. Jetfire tried but his kind heart couldn't become a Decepticon. Starscream didn't want to try, he didn't want to think of the Autobor ways. and I feel like Jetfire also wouldn't hold back, he has his own things. what I'm saying is that they both know how to hurt each other

their personalities work together so nicely too aahhh I love the kindhearted Jetfire and the hotheaded Starscream. both needing knowledge and curious in their nature. and that FABULOUS height difference aaaa

don't even get me started on Shattered Glass

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Jetfire deserves his own spotlight too! he's a wonderful character and as much as I love SkyStar, I need to see solo Jetfire stories too!

also it is not abusive I swear, I saw this take and I completely disagree. yes, they hurt each other. no, they don't abuse each other

What made you ship it?

I'm pretty sure u did make me ship them my man 😎 u brought this ship to my attention and I was joking while watching both TFP and G1, whenever they were on screen together like "omg starop" and one day I sat down and I was like damn...........StarOP REAL

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

I love their dynamic so so much. I love the brash and full of himself Starscream who gets humbled so hard by the Autobots. but rather than being mocked, he is actually helped by the kind Optimus. and since Optimus is also headstrong he wouldn't take any shit from Starscream as he tries to do better. it's just such a sweet clash and I see them both appreciating each other as time goes on. I mean Starscream is smart and cunning (in a good way too). Optimus is a leader and though often serious, he can joke around too. what I'm getting at is that they would both find each other sexy

TFA has to be my fave flavor for StarOP tho, I loved the banter and the personality clash of them, it's so fun. also with younger Optimus it also works wonders and that adamant Starscream I neeeddd to write a fic of them

TFP StarOP is so good too. the moment in Orion Pax part 2? Triangulation ep? DELICIOUS

also CBV StarOP with that amnesia trope of Starscream losing his memory and being taken care of by Optimus, while later on as Optimus steps down as a Prime, they can relax together.....showstopping

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

again, they're not toxic! if u write them right this is absolutely not a toxic ship. also I def can see Optimus giving a chance to Starscream but idk how unpopular that opinion is

list 3 positive things about your current fandom(s)

(a) The number of continuities, and the number of oddities and variations, and the sheer enthusiasm for multiple solutions to the same problem, often jammed cheerfully into the same context with liberal use of yes-and (shoutout to @transingthoseformers). Also the fact that this sits alongside - and is sometimes perpetrated by - a group of people who undertake careful detailed fully-evidenced meta-analysis of all of this. And the fact that someone has done the combinatorics on the number of possible romantic and/or platonic groupings available in the fandom, and achieved a ridiculously large number. Really there is So Much Stuff available to play with and that is cool;

(b) The people (that I have met at least) and their general kindness - both internally to the fandom and towards the world. Maybe it's normal to all fandoms, but the number of people who organise help for others or draw/write/otherwise make stuff to support good causes is joyful;

(c) The underlying fun of the premise - giant alien robots that turn into other things, what's not to like?

4. say something nice about a ship you don't ship (it can be another ship in your fandom, a mutual's OTP, etc)

I've already done this one a bit - but I will say that all of SkyStar, JazzProwl, StarOP are very very pretty and generate lots of lovely art. As does Dratchet, which I am quite picky about.

13. your favorite type of fandom event (gift exchange, ship week, secret santa, prompt meme, etc)

Prompt memes, maybe? I love the idea of people asking for something and getting that interpreted in a brilliant way that they didn't expect. (I know it's not quite the same, but I am still thrilled both by The Sea's Breeze and by everything @martintheland-lockedmartian9 has ever done with my prompts, and they all have that kind of feeling... )

I had this very sad idw starop au where things are actually going good at first. they survived their death experience with unicron (or were revived) and starscream after some time is able to become leader of cybertron (and he is actually elected). with optimus by his side they are a good pair and get togther. Unfortunately, somehow, Optimus one day falls ill and a few days later doesn't wake up. Starscream discovers that while Optimus had been revived after his ordeal with unicron, some of the injuries he sustained have not fully healed, and it as if his spark is being sucked back into intraspace with no way out. To others, he is in a coma. Starscream understands what is happening because he too was trapped in intraspace but he cannot seem to find or sense Optimus anywhere.

Long story short, Optimus is the love of starscream's life and he cannot imagine a life without him. Starscream goes into complete mourning; his armor is already black after he was brought back from intraspace but Iacon's colors are turned dark and gloomy. Black Banners, flags, etc. They all mourn Optimus with Starscream. So he one day lays next to Optimus and goes into permanent stasis after attempting to revive him (because in my aus where they survive unicron they share a spark).

This means that the leadership of Cybertron is up in the air. Luckily, the two had children and they have an elder daughter who readily accepts the position of Chancellor and leader. Even if she's very young, she still is a good leader (much better than Starscream lmao) and for thousands of years rules justly. She always visits her parents. Starscream and Optimus are in a garden she made for them, and it's as if they are sleeping they just won't wake up. Their sparks are burning, they have life signs but they are both asleep next to each other. She talks to them, knowing they will not respond, but she just hopes they are happy. Sometimes, like she would when she was younger, she lays down next to them, or scoots in between them hoping they will hug her back, but they never do. She knows that her parents are stuck in intraspace or some form of purgatory looking for each other, trying to hunt down the last bits of Unicron, but she never expects them to wake agaiin.

She is eventually the one, in my aus at least, that permanently pardons Megatron when he returns for his trial and grants him to stay with Rodimus. She also commissions that the Lost Light is rebuilt so if possible, the crew can continue their voyages. And yes she is aware there is another one going around she just wants to make people happy.

Okay so retcon on MegOp + Wave Husbands polycule au

StarOp + Wave Husbands would be more interesting here because what if it's everyone against a mad Megatron because he had ideas but burnt them to the ground once he started Satan's acid

Optimus and Starscream have been crossing paths together alot which Optimus uses to his advantage of making PEACE with Starscream and starting a mutual understanding of how they can end the war once and for all (cus he's aware of Starscream's intelligence and the pain he's suffered despite his plans working to full success at times)

Starscream admires Optimus and considers him a suitable connection to gain aid from while having command over someone (Optimus let's him think that cus he doesn't really care about who's in charge of who in their partnership so long as it's respect is maintained)

Wave Husband's it's still iffy but like,

Once Shockwave is on the ship and seeks mutual gain from Soundwave and the two converse about Cybertorn, Soundwave should be waking up from his loyalty stasis to apply sense to the situation

So Soundwave would be against Megatron now and Shockwave just wants the planet alive again, so logic dictates that perhaps cooperation with the Autobots on an aligned goal will provide a quicker means to helping Cybertron

But then how do they get rid of Megatron @_@

Should we sacrifice the Matrix???? Its done nothing but try to take Optimus to robot heaven....
