Desmond always being in survival mode is so sad but also so funny.

He never has time to question most situations he's in because his top priority is trying to survive.

He's like "oh this is what we are doing now," as everything he's ever known just gets thrown out the fucking window by isu.

This also applies to most time travel AU's like he doesn't question how time travel is possible, or why he was even able to time travel, he just like "oh! Alright then..." AND DOSENT QUESTION IT

On the mlp infection, I wonder how the royals getting affected would affect the world. Celestia/Majesty wouldn't raise or lower the sun, and probably eventually Luna wouldn't be able to do her job. Cadence/Heart Throb wouldn't be able to do her job

But if we take some G1 logic, the moon and sun rised and lowered on their own without help, and there was no speical pony of love. So maybe that ends up happening with the Sun and Moon acting on their own. Would probably freak ponies out

I usually would go for them to not be solely responsible for raising the sun and moon but for the sake of staying closer to the show AND the drama, they absolutely do and Luna is handling it well. For now.

'Tia has done it for so long, so now she can do it for her sister and try to fix this. Luna doesn't even remotely know how but she will give it her best. Raising the Sun and Moon IS taxing but she has to, and she will. There is no way for her to fail.

I keep thinking about Desmond always being on edge. Always in Survival Mode.

He could never relax on the Farm, his Dad always breathing down his neck. Get better. Be better. Do better.

And then, Desmond ran away. And he always had to look over his shoulder. Always had to be a step ahead of the Templars and Assassins (a great feat btw)

And then Abstergo got him and I can't imagine him relaxing in that environment. Only to be plucked out of that space and be back with the Assassins, back in the Animus.

With people he didn't know, who wanted to work and save the world and at the end, his Dad was back again too.

Surely Desmond never left Survival mode. Wouldn't even know what that would feel like.

Fucking. I’m going to hit this man with a bat. It will not be pretty. I might even go get a folding chair, go full on Aerith from VII Remake on his ass. 

The first time I encountered this convo I actually had to set my controller down and just. Take a breath. Whoof. I know that we don’t actually know where Desmond got his lip scar, but there is a fanon theory that he got it from his dad during a “training incident” and like. This convo gives a pretty strong credence to that. 

I’m trying to sum up something that isn’t inarticulate rage, but it’s kinda hard tbh. On the one hand, I’m actually really proud of Desmond for standing up for himself and calling his father out on his shit. I’m still mrrrr about him trying to make up with his dad in the first place, but that’s more of a me thing than anything, because I just don’t want Dez to have to deal with his abusive dad. 

Honestly I’m not even really willing to give William the benefit of the doubt. There are a lot of characters where I’m willing to take a step back and really dig into their motivations and what their deal is, but I’m kinda just. Drawing a line here. I don’t want to get into this, mostly because I know I’ll end up dredging up some bad memories of my own dad. So I’m probably just going to not dig into him much. If the mood strikes me, sure, but. [gestures to the convo] I don’t think I need to justify much more.

Playing AC Syndicate and Jacob is growing on me
