Jonghyun / Taemin; bebby bear; PG
idk man they're just vibing. It's really soft and cute. Can you believe I wrote something under 500 hundred words
Everyone that Taemin had ever spoken to about dating had told him that it was super complicated and messy and took a lot of navigating and getting used to each other before things got really smooth.
Taemin does not know what the fuck any of them were talking about. Maybe it's because the last time he talked to people regularly about dating was in high school and now he's in his thirties on his first relationship, or maybe it's because everyone he talked to was one of the cishets and he is very much not one of those, or maybe it's just because no one else that he knows had ever gotten lucky enough to get it right on their first try, but him and Jonghyun have been nothing but smooth sailing the entire time.
Like right now. Right here. At his place, in bed, on top of the covers. Jonghyun lying down the right way, laptop on his stomach, quietly tapping away between episodes of anime, and Taemin sitting up with his back to the wall, legs over Jonghyun's hips, playing a nice video game. The both of them just hanging out quietly together. Comfortably. Easily.
Taemin is heading along to the next mission in the game when something touches his knee. He glances down; Jonghyun's hand. Just on his knee, his eyes still on his laptop. Taemin looks back to his game.
Before long, Jonghyun is rubbing his knee gently, absent-mindedly, fingers trailing around it in a circle, thumb rubbing over the curve. Something about it is familiar to Taemin, though he can't place it until Jonghyun curls his fingers in and gives his knee a little noogie. Then, smiling, looking down again, Taemin realizes.
This is the same thing that Jonghyun does to his stuffed animal sometimes. His little baby hello kitty in a dinosaur costume that he keeps on his bed in his own house. Taemin has seen him absent-mindedly petting her head the same way he's doing to his knee right now.
Enamored from his head all the way down to his toes, Taemin pauses his game, picks up Jonghyun's hand, and presses a little kiss to the back of it.
"You're my favorite and I like you," he says, putting his hand back down. Jonghyun's reply is a smile that comes with scrunched shoulders, a tilted head, and the softest blush.

welsh remus guide pt.1
As a casual marauders fan (if such a thing exists lmao), I’ve noticed a growing love/interest towards Remus being Welsh and exploring what this means regarding accent, mannerisms and language. Seeing Welsh being butchered by the use of google translate, whilst understandable that people would turn to it, is actually physically painful at times. And so!! I’ve decided to start collecting some language tips and bits of info to help anyone who wants to Welshify their Remus. The source? My upbringing as a first language Welsh speaker in South-West Wales.
The most popular head canons I’ve seen, some based on scraps of info from canon, is that Remus is either South Walian (specifically South-East Wales - aka the Cardiff area) or North Walian. I’ve only lived in North Wales for just under a month so I have a rough idea of NW slang but I’m no expert. I have lived in Cardiff for about 3 years so I have a stronger grasp on broad South Walian slang.
This is to say - I will try and give words and bits of info I think would be useful to know but my ask box is always open to more specific questions. I’m also a nerd towards the Welsh language so this is going to be an unnecessarily deep dive into it.
First Lesson
Gogs - North Walians
Hwntws - South Walians
Gogs (short for Gogledd meaning North) and Hwntws have an age old rivalry. Our accents are very different and even our Welsh can have a huge variety of slang and accents.
Examples:
Milk - Llaeth (Hwntw) Llefrith (Gog)
Now - Nawr (H) Rwan (G)
Whilst plenty of Welsh folks have very English sounding accents, if someone has a distinctly Welsh accent you can usually tell pretty quickly where they’re from. Accents within the Welsh language itself tend to be rather strong and distinctive for most people. It is extremely common for someone to ask you where you’re from once they find out you speak Welsh. Probably cause Wales isn’t that big and only like 20% ish of us speak Welsh??? Idk. It just is a thing. So like:
“O, da chi’n siarad Cymraeg?” (Oh, you speak Welsh?)
“Ydw! Wyt ti o’r Gogledd?” (I do! Are you from the North?)
“Yndw, dwi o Gaernarfon. Ble yda chi’n byw?” (I do, I’m from Caernarfon. Where do you live?)
“Fi o Rhydaman.” (I’m from Ammanford.)
Hopefully that dialogue feels human and not like two robots talking but you get the gist of it lmao. So, for those of you who want to make another of the characters, such as Lily, Welsh as well, it wouldn’t be out of place for them to try and establish where the other is from when first meeting. But also be aware that their slang and language would be different if they’re not from the same area (as with any language or country).
Conclusion: You cannot slap the blanket label of Welsh on Remus and then have him speak any old welsh and use any slang and such. So either choose somewhere specific or throw a dart and stick with where it lands.
Note: I am not the collective consciousness of every Welsh person. My experience is not universal - especially when it comes to North Walian things. This is just meant to serve as a general guide. Hope this helps and good luck with your writing!

you're welsh, correct? and if so, can you say something in welsh?
ydw i'n gallu!
I don't speak Welsh fluently because of, you know, we're still dealing with the effects of language suppression, and most people from where I grew up in wales didnt speak it much, if at all. moving to gwynedd and being around fluent speakers helped me learn more, my friends sometimes forgot the words in English and just said them in welsh, so I picked up a lot just using context clues. I still have to rely on translating sites and my dictionaries and phrasebooks sometimes though!

have you ever had experience learning languages other than english? if yes, was your comprehension similarly affected, or are some things clearer than others? im not confident in the way i worded this, so sorry in advance if i messed something up!
ydw, mae gwydion yn deall rhywfaint o gymraeg. little tiny bit japanese too but not enough that confident try put in words .
regardless language have trouble use words , but welsh give more trouble than english , and japanese more than welsh . japanese because just not learn enough , know more welsh but not same amount experience in try . ( and , well , only have AAC in english . )
but understand welsh fairly well … if text only or have captions , because audio process still big problem . and . hard time find welsh with captions .

dydd gwyl dewi hapus!
in honour of dydd gwyl dewi/st david's day, i wish to share this banger with you all that i used to sing all the time every year! it's called "Mis Mawrth Unwaith Eto" which means "March the first again"
the lyrics are under the cut! (both welsh and english translation with annotations!)
Tumblr media
Cymraeg:
"Mis Mawrth unwaith eto*, a'r gwanwyn wedi dod;
Dydd Gwyl Dewi ydw hi.
Mis Mawrth unwaith eto, a'r gwanwyn wedi dod;
Dydd Gwyl Dewi ydw hi.
Dewi Sant, Dewi Sant, cofiwn Dewi,
Cofiwn am y pethau bach a'r pethau mawr**.
Dewi Sant, Dewi Sant, ffrind y bobl, ffrind y plant,
Rhaid i ninnau fod fel Dewi'n dda bob awr***."
English translation: (by me, pls correct me if i'm wrong!)
"March the first is here again*, and spring has come;
It's St. David's Day.
March the first is here again, and spring has come;
It's St. David's Day.
Saint David, Saint David, we remember David,
We remember the little things and the great things**.
Saint David, Saint David, friend of the people, friend of the children,
We should all be good like David all the time***."
*Dydd Gwyl Dewi/St. David's Day is celebrated on March 1st every year!
**This is in reference to Dewi Sant's most famous quote: "Gwenwch y pethau bychain mewn bywyd."/"Do the little things in life."
***Literally 'bob awr' means 'every hour'.

This is another case where they might not be lyrics, at least not from songs that Taylor has a writing credit on (the others are not in the document I use for my keyword searches).
For the first, I was focusing on YDW and the closest ones I noticed are oddly parallel in structure: your dirtiest work for you, your dirtiest jokes for me. But each has one incorrect letter.
For the second, I was looking for MES since E is the least-used starting letter. There were three that fit that shortened pattern (mr. every single, my enemies started, my eclipsed sun) but nothing that fit any more than that.

Tumblr media
Seeing as apparently FFN is about to die or people are already unable to access it, just saving this screenshot. While I was in fandom on other platforms and under other names before I joined FFN, this was the oldest profile/account I had that was still continuously running as of June 2023.
I’m putting the complete profile below the cut for my own personal reference/nostalgia. (Prior to the proliferation of machine translation and language websites, I collected translations of “Hi, I’m Nyxie” from fans for years.) This is also my record of my original construction of my current name/identity.
Author has written 87 stories for Harry Potter, Psych, StarTrek: Voyager, Alex Rider, Merlin, Legend of Korra, Avengers, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Breaking Bad.
I do not accept requests!
(But I do still accept new languages for my greetings list below!)
I'm afraid I don't really hang out here, anymore. Come find me on Tumblr and AO3, where my much more recent - and thus much better - fanfic is now posted.

Random Personal Information
Name: Just call me Nyxie
Age: Old enough to read what I write
Location: California
What's In A Name
Nyx is the ancient Greek goddess of the Night, known for having sway over Man and God, and even Zeus didn't like to upset her. She gave birth to many powerful spirits and deities, and is often referred to as a sister of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, the sons of Cronus and Rhea and the fathers and leaders of the gods. She is fond of mischief and mystery. Every night, she casts the darkness so the stars can come out the play, and every morning, she sends them back to sleep.
'-elestia' comes from 'celestial', because I love the night sky and am an occasional space geek (I've even been to space camp). I dropped the ending l for a smoother sounding name. Along with which, "Celestia" is a computer program for space viewing, and what a lovely program it is...not to mention the fact I'm on a computer so much. I dropped the c for easier spelling.
Nyx celestial - c - l = Nyxelestia
Enjoy my fics! No matter how old the fic is, reviews are always appreciated. :)
