One headcanon I've had for these two for a while is that -- because they're both on the "A" side of the LGBT+ spectrum -- they wouldn't be huge into cuddling. Instead I could see them working side by side in the kitchen, holding hands, and (as pictured here) Carewyn laying her legs across Orion's lap on the couch while they're both sitting down. Even while sitting down with her legs up, though, Carewyn is a perpetual workaholic who has a lot of trouble putting down her work files and just relaxing, and so it's up to legal partner Orion to encourage her to slow down and take some time to herself, whenever he comes to stay the night.

"I suppose that includes my work as well as my shoes."

This song made for very good inspiration for this, since I could see Carewyn singing it for Orion more than once. Its last stanza in particular would really speak to her, when Orion's traveling with the Montrose Magpies --

now that I have calmed somewhat (but not really because I’m not normal about Icarus) First of all, I want to say that I love this fic very much and it has made me tear up, scream, sob, laugh and just feel very much. It absolutely lives rent free in my mind. I’m amazed and I want to thank you (and your twin) for this amazing work. I’m sort of afraid to re-read it because the emotional damage, but at the same time… it’s so, so good. So yeah, thank you both.
I really like the voice of the characters and the cadence of your writing. I get this feeling of watching a slow-motion crash, and how I want to scream. Also, it’s very human, messy, and visceral. And I have feelings. Charles and Carlos? I’m dying for the outtake. Jenson? Like, before of this fic I didn’t knew much (I don’t watch Sky. I’m form Latin América, and I watch the regional broadcast form) but now I will die for him. Lando becoming flock with Daniel (and I imagine that it may be out of the scope of this fic but I worry/wonder about Lando and Oscar for 2023 season). Yuki? Pierre? Love them so very much.
It’s amazing how you blend like these media/social media bits that gives the story… this sort of flavour. Makes it a fuller. One of my favourite parts of this is the thing with Seb colleting Daniel’s feathers and how a photo of a fan passing a feather becomes photo of the year. Made me cry a little, and it makes the world seem more real. Also, I really, really love the lore/word building around the wings and how everything works. The subtle changes to accommodate feathers, flight, and flock, amazing. I wanted to ask, what type of wings would you have? The same as your twin?
And yeah. Just. I have feelings.

No but seriously thank you so much! The recent comments and feedback I've been getting for Icarus have been amazing, especially in the past few chapters.
I started out planning this fic mostly around Maxiel but the more I fleshed out the plot the more I realised I had to include most of the grid. Charlos have such a huge role to play and though a lot of it is covered in the outtakes, we'll see development and resolution of their subplot in the upcoming latter stages of the main story too.
Jenson is basically the darling of the older grid (he's flock with so many of them) and I am literally vibrating in excitement thinking about finally addressing the Princess Cake/brocedes/slagclaren (I still can't believe that's the phrase for Lewis and Jenson) mess that we saw a few chapters earlier.
And Lando and Oscar will feature a little bit, towards the end of the fic. I have a specific scene planned out that makes me snort whenever I think of it.

Is there a religious story or a mythos that you enjoy the most?
woah this is such a good question and i have absolutely no idea which precise one is my favourite but i can give some contenders!
the book of ruth is up there in my favourite biblical books, and the love narrative is awesome
the story of eros and psyche from greek mythology
the hindu story of prince rama and sita (celebrated at diwali)
story of hephaestus coming back for revenge against hera after she tossed him off mount olympus
the story of jael from the bible and her murder of sisera
the story of judith from the bible and her murder of holofernes
the book of esther
the book of tobit and the theory that the lady sarah, who was supposedly being tormented by demons who killed every one of her husbands on their wedding night, was actually a serial killer
i think the stories of jael, sarah in tobit, and judith are my three favourites.
the story of jael can be found in judges 4 to 5, and judith can be found in the book of judith (not found in all bibles) and the book of tobit (also not in all bibles).
an extra fun one: jesus cursing a fig tree because it won't give him fruit, despite it being off season for figs. first example of hangry-ness? guess we'll never know, lmao.

I've been bouncing back and forth on what artwork to use as a patron postcard this month. It started with an odd brush and the ultimate reminder, Memento Mori. Part of me wants to wax poetic on life and death and what Memento Mori means to me, but words escape me. I'd rather let you rest with this new companion and ponder the sentiment yourself. We are all complete, human, different, united entirely on one front. Remember that you will die.
A tad gloomy for a patron postcard but it takes me back to Victorian mourning culture. I hope you admire this little magpie friend as I do. Postcards will be sent out soon.

huh. ya know, i never thought about this before! sorry this took so long but i did a lot of thinking genuinely probably more than you were asking for dknkfnkkn anyway i've got a couple different answers here.
my first instinct was cat bc i inextricably link him to being a cat person and also. look at him. he's just that kind of guy. just a little dick (honorifically). so like black cat for sure is a contender.
i don't specifically think bird for him but like a magpie maybe? plain and unassuming until you really look at it. just a lil guy. also well-known for being a lil shit, stealing jewelry and stuff (although allegedly that's not true but they do have that rep xoxo)
and then finally like. i am saying this with all of the love in my heart. i can absolutely see him giving opossum or raccoon. do we all see this vision. lil trash guy. cringe in my favorite way. i have no real specific reasoning behind it but this is just what he Looks Like to me.

Hahaha, guess this is how I manage to post some Masquerade-ish content for Carewyn in light of that recent sidequest! 😂
But yes! In the Cinderella AU, the ball where Orion and Carewyn end up is -- fittingly -- a masquerade...so in light of the masquerade event from HPHM’s canon, as well as Valentine’s Day, here’s some redone art of my babies dancing together, decked out in their ball costumes: a robin (for Carewyn) and a magpie (for Orion). There is symbolism involved with both of these choices, which I discussed in the notes for the AU, but on a more personal note, in my canon for these characters, Carewyn’s Animagus form is a robin, while Orion eventually works for the Montrose Magpies Quidditch team. 💚
My accompaniment while working on this included “Ten Minutes Ago” from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, “Secret Kingdom” from The Slipper and the Rose, and “Lavender’s Blue” from Cinderella (2015).
