I was wondering how you feel about Sara and the fandoms treatment of her. As a black girl it kind of hurts when people say Sara is boring or she has no chemistry with wirt. Maybe this my neurodivergent brain talking but I don’t really think about shipping when watching a show. I focus more on the story and the story of this show has helped me grow up a little bit.

Hey anon! You haven’t bothered me AT ALL— this is a fantastic ask! While I am a big Wirtrice shipper, I am 100% with you and believe you are dead on.

I LOVE Sara’s character, and find it so refreshing she’s a normal, nice girl. Who seems to genuinely like Wirt and enjoy his company. And yes, the fandom is incredibly dismissive of her for the sake of Beatrice. Partially because Beatrice has more screen time, partially due to shipping, I suspect.

Sara also absolutely has chemistry with Wirt, and great potential. While I don’t read it as such explicitly romantic chemistry as with Beatrice, which I personally find radiates off the screen, there is 100% a bond and potential there.

Long story short, while Wirtrice is my romantic OTP, Justice for Sara!
