Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well (and staying dry!) 🙈 . What a dreary, wet spring it's been so far - so terrible for those further north who are affected by the floods as well 😪 . I feel so grateful that we're safe, but I can't shake that rotten, sad, unmotivated, frustrating 'winter blues' feeling that's stuck around. . The positive in that, is that although I can't control the weather, or the situation, I CAN control how I cope with it. . Whenever I'm faced with a problem, I have my little 'feel your feelings' (wah) moment 😅, and then I ask myself what I'm going to do about it. How am I going to look after myself in this moment... Usually the answer is 'I don't fkn know' 😅💁🏼♀️ . In that case, I think about how I would look after a loved one who was feeling sad - that's easy! I'd give them a great big hug, let them get it off their chest, I'd cook for them, I'd do something they enjoy to cheer them up, and then I'd check in with them to make sure they were okay... Why is it so easy to nurture others, but not ourselves? 🙈 . So, today I looked after myself as though I was looking after a loved one, and I think I really needed it! 💕 I cooked a really yummy, healthy lunch, journaled and had a good vent, and then watched a funny movie. . We don't always have to be that goal-smashing superhuman version of ourselves, but we should all get in the practice of being our own best friend when we're feeling down. . Next time you're having a shitty day - give it a go. Think of your nearest, dearest, most special favourite person, and treat yourself just as you'd treat them if they were feeling blue. Make a mess in the kitchen, put your oodie on, vent, and chuck your fave flick on. You deserve it 🥰 . I had to redo my computer, hackers were not nice to me. Blah. I went with a simple fun program because it wouldn’t recognize my old web stuff which was ok because my mind didn’t do it right a year ago, so I canceled that anyway it was too much and wasn’t getting anything out of it. So a good thing for me. My mind is getting better and my arm.
