One of the most mind-boggling autistic experiences I've ever had was in English class. We were told to literally translate a short story. Then the teacher scolded me for literally translating a very short sentence as a very short sentence. She said that I was expected to know to merge it with a sentence next to it, to make it flow better. You instructed me to literally translate the text, not to fix its sentence structure, bitch.

As anyone else in this fandom, I'm just so fucking done with all of this shit happening. It makes us feel unseen and unimportant in the society and well fuck that.
But I've been thinking about something and especially why a good amount of questies keep on saying fanfics are ours and we can keep the story alive. In a way you are totally right! But I think it's more than that. Sure it stays in the intimacy of a pretty small fandom on a website somewhere but it's bigger than that.
When Warrior Nun was cancelled I talked about it with a friend and he said to me "don't worry we're gonna be the one making those representations." And man, that's exactly what it is. What matters. Fanfics keep on doing those representations! But also if you write a fic, it can turn into a script, a graphic novel, a scenario, anything! And we have the power to make it important. Because that's it, I'm tried of waiting on white cis privileged rich male to decide if what matters to me has value. We are valuable :) and what I can see is that I never loved my community so much. The latest representation are getting bolder even if they get cancelled and well I guess that's something. But yeah I love seeing everyone, and I respect everyone and I think everyone is beautiful. And that inspire us to do things. We are the artistic ones, we are the one calling the shots, in the end. So I encourage everyone to go write their own Kit and Jade, to find their own writing style, be it funny or serious we don't care. We unite in the creation of a better place for our community <3
It know we're tired but you know what? What unites us as a community is love. And what motivates the people cancelling us is money. I think it's pretty clear that we have the power. It's gonna be alright. And thank you btw for being so positive about it all yet still sharing your emotions. I think we all need that
It does make us feel unseen and unimportant you're right. It hurts. It sucks that there is a handful of rich white cis men that decide what is acceptable to show and what's not.
It hurts so so much that our stories are deemed unacceptable to be told for more than one season, or if they are told longer, we don't get a happy ending.
Those men decide for us if we get our rep and it hurts so much.
For me? Saying we take control of the narrative is more to do with being a little selfish.
I don't want to just move on. I don't want this fandom to die because I am sick and tired of losing a show then losing the fandom where I found friends and comfort.
Take inspiration from those that came before us.
Yes we're writing fics at the moment for our favourite characters and ships but as you say, develop your own stories and styles.
We shouldn't have to become the representation we want to see, we should be allowed to turn on a show and see ourselves and our stories told in their entirety, but that's not happening.
So we take control.
It starts today with us writing Tanthamore or graylora or rougereaver fics.
It turns into us developing our own stories to tell, our own characters to bring to life.
And yeah those stories at first might just be stuck to this website or a fanfic site but they don't have to.
If someone can publish a fanfic of a series and people can own a physical copy of that fanfic, then we can publish our own stories.
Love is the greatest power in the universe.
Love unites us.
Love and understanding is what brings us together.
Love for these characters and this world bought so many people together.
Understanding that we deserve this rep and shouldn't have to fight tooth and nail bought us together.
I'm trying to stay positive because I am tired of feeling like I'll never be able to see my story told completely.
I'm trying to stay positive because I don't want to lose these characters and this universe and I know if I react negatively then I'll abandon ship.
I'm heartbroken. I'm sad. I'm tired. I've cried over the loss of the visual representation.
But I'm not going down the rabbit hole of ending up hating the content we got just because we didn't get more.
Disney took something from us and their not the first company to do so and they won't be the last.
Willow won't be the last show with good queer rep and good black/brown rep to be cancelled.
But like with Warrior Nun, we can try to make it impactful.
I don't mean we should go out and buy a billboard, I don't think that would work.
I mean we keep loving the characters. We keep loving the universe. We continue to let the cast and crew know how much we love what they created.
We keep our voices loud.
Maybe that will be the change that's needed.
Bury your gays became less used after the aftermath of Lexa and how the fans rose up.
But they just moved on to cancelling the shows instead of killing us.
So we stay loud. We stay proud. We stay happy to have these characters. We stay happy to have this universe.
We make noise. We rewatch. We create.
We show Disney that we coulda been the greatest thing that ever happened to that company.
Because yeah, Disney did what they did for money, the company is greedy.
Greed drove them to cancel Willow.
Love will drive us to show them how much this show was and is loved.
It might take another 34 years for us to get more content.
I hope it doesn't. I'll be 62 by then!
The fact that the cast wanted to do more, that Johnathan wanted to do more says something to me.
They care about these characters. They love these characters as much as we do.
Maybe there's a sliver of hope that maybe Disney will let Willow go and Johnathan can take it to a different network, even if for just one season.
I'm not holding out much hope for that to happen. But it could.
I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters, to this universe.
So I won't say goodbye.
This isn't a goodbye.
It's a may we meet again.
It's an in this life or the next.
There's still so much of this story to be told and if the creators can't write that story. We get to write it.

Can I Talk About How Much I Love Willow Park for a Moment?
I've talked before about how Hunter and Luz are my favorite characters in toh but she's probably my third favorite and sometimes I literally want to worship the ground her little animated boots walk on. For one, she's Asian-coded and plus-sized, which is rare enough (the only other example I can think of is Glimmer from She-ra, who I also love), but she's actually well-written and complex in the way a lot of diverse characters aren't. She's canonically pansexual, which is a community that gets so little representation its heartbreaking. On top of that, she's in a healthy relationship with someone of the opposite gender, which isn't often seen with bi and pan characters. She's an extremely powerful witch but she struggles with self-esteem issues. She's allowed to be stressed and exceed her limits and break down and have emotions. She's strong and independent without putting other people down. She's kind and compassionate without being a pushover. She's reliable and tough but has limits. She's cute and girly but also a little gremlin. She has an absolutely wonderful character arc and helps save the world. I love her so much I can't even express it.

About people whitewashing Low
I swear, I'm literally fuming about how people are just straight up ignorant about this. It's not HARD to just colorpick, and if the color is weird because of the lighting then literally just search any skin tones palette and WOW you have a black skin tone.
There's so many tutorials about how to draw and color black characters on the internet.
At this point I can't even care if black people aren't common in wherever you live, because it's not like you never saw a black person on the internet or in any media.

Just a lil hc but I definitely bakugo is the type of boyfie who likes helping you get ready. I mean he won't come and ask if he can help no no no. He'll just stand there, staring at you... and then randomly walk over hand you an earring and go "this'll look nice with that dress" and just go back to lurking XD but also when you DO WEAR what he choses for you he just feels so happy inside and go "heh she's weaing what I chose for her :>" but on the outside he makes an expression like he suddenly got food poisoning lmao.
(also I think he'll probably have atleast an above average fashion taste since his parents are both fashion designers~)

Absolutely happy that Warrior Nun rose from the dead. Great effort all around. (Really hope they bring back Shotgun Mary because I miss her energy.)
As this development bolsters my hope for Willow, there's work to be done. There's no secret that the Warrior Nun campaign got crazy attention and buy-in, and not just from queer folks - who led the charge.
Willow has the base to grow from the og fans who loved that campy ass film and love this show (it me!) and the young folks who fell in love with the whole Willow gang. That's a great loud and lovely base and it needs to be bigger and louder.
But how does one do that without the damn show! Warrior Nun grew because we had a whole season to rewatch, and then folks picked it up. And petty-ass Disney has taken the show off the platform. (Like f*ck them forever for that. Seriously.)
As always the fanfic and the art and the edits keep this whole thing going. Social media fans those flames. Keep up the word of mouth. Sign petitions and harass your friends. Also, harass Disney. Let's get Kasdan and the crew back on board.
Finally, to the youth, piracy is your friend! 🏴☠️ I still have all my burned dvds and cds from college. Yes, there are sites (with spamware, blerg), but torrenting is a good way to go. There are good torrent sites and programs like Utorrent.
Download the whole season. Put it on your drive. Share that drive. Burn it to a dvd. Maybe make copies and just hand them out. Whatever it takes. This show needs eyeballs! I truly believe that Disney et al are choosing to deplatform shows because of the WGA strike and residuals, however, the fact that the majority of the canceled/deplatformed shows are Queer-led, Black/POC led, and often have female leads or focused on women is no coincidence. (Male-centered queer shows are not only being renewed, but if they are canceled, they are easily finding new homes. NPH's show is a prime example.) So, yes, the data suggests that there is a bias against shows about queer/lesbian women and nb folks.
Anywho, mount up Team One Braincell aka Questies, and let's do the thing. Maybe Kasdan can stop his placating approach and get pissed off. It worked for Simon Barry, so who knows.
Let's go storm a castle and whatnot!

Every time this happens I say Im not moarning a tv show and then (like yeah) I spend 2hrs sobbing like a child. My chest feels hollow.
I don’t want goodbyes from the cast. I don’t want to have to go through the emptiness again. Im so tired of dealing with this. Im tired of having to get my fix from fanfic (don’t get me wrong I love the fanfic).
Why can’t streaming services just keep things going.

I'm heartbroken that Willow was cancelled, I grew up on the movie, I loved it so so much as a child.
I wanted adventures like Madmartigan and Willow.
I can remember me and a friend actually 'playing Willow' as Mads and Sorsha raising Elora and it was amazing.
So when I learnt about the TV show (admittedly when there was already three episodes out) I was fucking ecstatic.
This was my childhood bought back to the screen.
I sat and watched the movie followed immediately by the three episodes I had to catch up with.
Was I sad there was no Madmartigan? Sure I was, he was my favourite.
But we got his daughter.
We got Kit. Kit who's a princess but doesn't want to be. Kit who's in love with her best friend who just happened to be a girl. Kit who is her father's daughter through and through.
I say I'm not mourning this show, because it will always be ours now.
Disney can cancel the show, but the can't take back their first lesbian princess.
I've lived through enough shows just shattering my heart with the rep I got.
Willow was the first show where it felt like they actually cared about the queer rep.
And they did.
Maybe Disney didn't care but Johnathan did with the writing.
Erin and Ruby both cared with the little things they gave the characters.
Like Erin said she never thought as a queer women she'd get to play a queer character for Disney.
That in itself is telling to how needed Willow and Kit and Jade were and still are.
I'm tired of having to fight for the right to see myself represented in shows. Of course I am.
But I will never ever be tired of actually getting to see myself in TV shows.
We have lost so much queer rep in the last couple of years and yeah it hurts.
But losing Willow hit differently and harder, for me at least.
This show reminded me of my childhood.
It reminded me of sitting on the sofa, snuggled with my dad watching the movie for the first time.
So yeah, if you need to mourn the show. If you need to cry over the loss, then cry, I know I have, but please please don't stop loving the series we got.
Keep rewatching it. Keep talking about it. Keep writing fanfics. Keep drawing fanart. Keep making fanvideos.
Show Disney that we care even if they don't. Show the cast what these characters mean to us.
You don't have to fight every fight to try and keep the show going.
We shouldn't be expected to have to fight for our shows.
Sometimes it works yeah, but sometimes we lose. Doesn't mean we have to give up these characters.
Their ours now.
This world is ours now.
We decide what happens to them.
We decide. It's ours. Their ours. Disney can't take that from us.

willow for a while (between s5 and s6) being more usel to buffys dead or just cold still body than her alive one…
cause not only did she have to fix the buffy bot and reprogram it but it was probably her that prepared Buffys body for the funeral. (Anya, giles and Tara were all hurt, spike obviously wasn’t allowed near it, and OF COURSE it wasn’t Dawn) xander and Tara probably tried to help, but I think Xander was more focused on his hurt fiancé and Tara tried to help Dawn (who was also hurt).
imagine spending all day every day for weeks with either your best friends dead body or the broken bot made in her image that you have to rebuild knowing it isnt her and that it’ll only make it harder for all of you to heal.
imagine healing your best friends corpses injuries knowing it’s way too late for it to bring her back. Trying to make her look as alive as possible without it actually well making her alive.
