my cody theory for tbb s3
the legendary "boba fett" is actually like twenty different clones (including the real Boba). anyone at risk of being recognized (usually officers/arcs) can go into bounty hunting as "boba fett". it soon becomes the clone equivalent of like john doe. they share a bounty guild account (bc it uses biometric id and they're close enough to register as the same person).
"boba fett" soon develops a reputation for getting missions done 1) incredibly well and 2) incredibly fast. the fast part is because there are at least eight people all doing different bounties at any given time. the well part is because "boba fett" is an informal collective of escaped clones of particular distinction in battle.
by the time the real Boba is an adult, the "boba fett" clones have built up his bounty hunter credit score so much that he can pretty much take whatever job he wants for max rates.

The Defective Jedi
Tumblr media
Chapter 1
Word count: 2.2k
Trigger Warnings: None really, just some fighting
Every day you tried to forget and yet almost every night you remembered. Wandering through the crystal caves of Ilum was horribly cold and felt so lonely. You were never particularly strong with the force but you always felt it. That connection between all things living and the energy it permeated, but when you entered the cave you felt, nothing. Why did you feel nothing?
You heard the other younglings yipping in happiness and laughing in triumph as one by one they found their kyber crystals and still, nothing called for you. Time was running out before the entrance became a wall of ice with no escape and even as a child you accepted defeat before you accepted death. You were the last to leave and the only one who was left empty handed. You would remember the disappointed look of Master Yoda forever, his eyes turned to the snow beneath his feet with a pained look before he looked back up at you.
It wasn’t long after that you were sent back home to Lothal. You had taken your parents pride and sullied it with failure and you don’t think they ever forgave you for it. It was true, you had failed before you even really got started. Your connection to the force just wasn’t strong enough to be a Jedi.
Still, you refused to let the connection go. You spent your formative years practicing the techniques you were able to learn in your short time studying under the jedi. Hours meditating every rotation searching for that warmth. You did find it; you could still feel it and so you taught yourself as much as you could.
Once you were able to venture out on your own you left Lothal and your parents’ resentment behind. Never really setting up a home; you joined a bounty hunter’s guild instead and used your abilities to become a fairly prolific hunter. It was during these years that all hell broke lose as war erupted all over the galaxy.
Only one year in and it wasn’t looking good. Hundreds of Jedi had fallen to the separatist forces and they needed help. This was when a desperate plea rang across the galaxy for the aid of anyone with force sensitive capabilities to come and join the fight for the republic. Whether it was out of the desire to help or need to prove yourself to the ones who threw you out you weren’t sure; still you answered their call.
You were tested and trained in a group of others with similar stories to your own under several rotating Jedi. At the end of your training, you were assigned to be exactly what you already were; a fighter. You were assigned to various squads as aid and back up; using your intuition, strategy skills and your fighting expertise on the battle field with the clones. You’d never hold a rank above a grunt but you didn’t care. Every victory was a curse on the Jedi for giving you up.
After months of rotating between battalions you were about to receive your permanent assignment. Clone Force 99, a rag tag team of four, apparently defective, clones. The irony didn’t escape you.
“Why are we getting a Jedi?” Hunter asked the hologram of Cody. The others standing back but still in view of the commander.
“She’s not a Jedi, she’s one of the force sensitives the Jedi asked to join the cause. She doesn’t hold rank over you, you’re still in charge.”
“I don’t like it.” Sneered Crosshair.
“Well, you don’t have much of a choice. The higher ups want these people sprinkled out through all the squads in case of a Sith attack. The Jedi worry about them rising up with the appearance of a few and quite frankly, no clone stands a chance agianst them. They can wipe out battalions.”
“When is she joining and for how long?” The Sergent was growing impatient and didn’t like the idea of a new member being added to their group.
“She’s waiting on Kamino for you now so you’ll meet her upon arrival, she’ll be with you until the war is over or until she runs as fast as she can away from you.” The commander had a small smirk on his face that Hunter mirrored. The idea of sending a Jedi, or whatever, running amused him.
Once they touched down on Kamino three out of the four were sightly on edge with the exception or Wrecker who seemed rather excited. He was generally the most welcoming. The worry melted away as soon as they laid eyes on you. You really didn’t look like a Jedi at all. You looked like an operative. Instead of a robe you wore black armor and in the place of a lightsaber at your hip, you had a blaster and a large curved vibro-blade.
Crosshair couldn’t help but eye you up and down the armor looked good on you. You took each of them in once you took your helmet off and introduced yourself to your new companions, a dance you’ve done before. Wrecker was kind enough to grab the two crates of your belongings and load them onto the ship. There wasn’t much time for pleasantries before you received your first mission. You were to extract data from an outpost on Teth and upload it straight to Cody. Information about prisoners of war and where they were being held was your main objective. Anything else was an added bonus. You all loaded onto the ship after eating a hearty meal in the cafeteria.
In the back of the ship next to the bunks you unpacked a few things from your crates.
“Whatchya got there?” Wrecker asked excitedly.
“Ill eat a loth cat before I sleep in GAR issued blankets.” He laughed heartily at your response and left you to continue. You didn’t have any photos to hang or many personal items at all for that matter but that’s how you’ve lived for the last few years anyway.
Once you were finished you made your way to the common area where the clones were discussing strategy. Quietly you took the empty seat between Tech and Crosshair. The outpost was situated in the middle of the jungle. Intel reported minimal guards as it wasn’t a main base but still enough that you all decided stealth was your best option.
Once the plan had been formulated they all looked at you expectedly.
“What is it?” you asked.
“So why didn’t you become a Jedi?” Tech asked outright, Hunter elbowed him but didn’t faze the goggled soldier.
“I tried but, well they decided I wasn’t strong enough. I’m closer to the force than most people but not close enough to be a Jedi.”
“You’re defective like us!” Wrecker shouted with glee, earning an elbow from Hunter as well. You actually laughed a bit.
“Yeah, you could say that. I’ve used my abilities as a bounty hunter since I left Lothal until I joined the GAR.”
Crosshair watched you out of the corner of his eye. You really weren’t what they thought you would be at all. You weren’t a religious zealot you were just someone trying to find their way in the galaxy like the rest of them. He admired that, the honesty too. You weren’t trying to be something you’re not.
That night in hyperspace you tossed and turned in your new bunk. Nightmares from close calls on a hunt filled your mind. You were often reminded of the times you came close to getting killed before a mission. Eventually you gave up and made your way toward the cockpit. You enjoyed meditating under the blue streaking lights. You were surprised to see that someone had beat you to it. The lithe handsome sniper sat in the pilot’s chair cleaning his fire puncher and mouthing a tooth pick.
He looked up at you slightly taken aback by your appearance. Quickly he composed himself and half waved his arm at the other seat as a silent invitation.
“Sorry for intruding, I just couldn’t sleep.”
“You’re not.”
You were starting to like the way words seemed to slither off his tongue. You nodded a thanks to him and turned to watch the stars soaring by at light speed. Both you sat in silence for a few minutes before he opened and shut his mouth, wanting to ask you something but Cross wasn’t sure if it was out of turn.
He mentally shrugged and asked, “So why did you join the GAR?”
“Is one part brave three parts fool a believable answer?”
“I doubt you’re a fool.”
“Well, we’ll see if you keep that opinion,” you chuckled and earned an upturn of the corner of his mouth.
“Honestly? I found it ironic that the Jedi needed our help now. I don’t hold too much resentment agianst them but I do want to prove myself as valuable. Besides, things make sense out here.”
“How so?” He turned in his chair to face you and put his rifle down for a moment. You glanced at him and shrugged your shoulders.
“There’s no confusion right now. We fight agianst Separatists and clankers. I’m sure there are good people on those planets but this is the side I chose to fight for so that’s what I’m going to do.”
Crosshair digested your words and offered “We didn’t get a choice.”
“If you did, what would you be doing?”
“That’s a difficult question to answer, I’ve never let myself be hypothetical like that before because there isn’t a choice. I.. We’re property of the GAR just like my rifle and this ship. Don’t tell Tech that though, it’s his ship in his mind.”
You giggled a bit at that and nodded your head in understanding.
“I spent so much time hunting and fighting bounties that this just seemed like a natural course of action. I can’t see myself doing anything else instead now.”
Crosshair picked up his fire puncher again and resumed cleaning it. You watched him for a while before turning back to the lights and closing your eyes. You reached out through the force trying to feel the Purgill you swore you heard. What you didn’t sense was Crosshair watching you intently.
You were going over the mission plan one last time while Tech was putting down the ship a few clicks away from the objective point. The jungle terrain was difficult to get through but not too much of a problem. The closer you got the more the hairs on the back of your neck stood on end. Cross left your group close to the outpost to climb one of the giant trees for a better vantage point.
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this,” you whispered to the Sergent.
He nodded in response, seemingly sensing something as well. The post was supposed to be guarded by droids with a few officers scattered throughout but something was off. No perimeter defense and no guards posted outside. Your group made their way around to a side door shown on the schematics and while Tech was overriding security, you Hunter and Wrecker kept watch. You could Feel Crosshair’s eyes on you and it gave you an overwhelming sense of security knowing he was watching over you.
Three droids were posted on the inside of the door and as soon as you were in Wrecker crushed one agianst the wall, Hunter stabbed one in the chest and you took the last one’s head off with your long viroblade. Quickly you dashed in and made your way through the base looking for a data port. Tech found one on a lower level and plugged in, searching the database until he found what he needed.
“It seems there are around fifty clones being held captive for questioning on a moon in the outer rim. There are also schematics for the spider droids here…” Tech prattled on interesting things he was downloading until Hunter shushed him and signaled for him to hurry up. That’s when the alarm sounded.
“We gotta go, now.” You stated with certainty. Trusting your instinct the boys packed up and started running back up to the way out. Once the door was insight, a wall of droids emerged and started firing at you. You fell back around a corner and started shooting them with your blaster looking for a weak point in the wall.
“Wrecker throw a smoke grenade,” Hunter barked.
“On it!” Wrecker tossed two creating a large fog that allowed you to step out, you reached out your hand and with a little struggle, used the force to loosen a wall panel until it flew into the side of the droid squad, pinning them to the opposite wall.
“HA HA NICE!” Wrecker shouted.
The four of you ran like hell out of the outpost to find several fallen droids, courtesy of the reliable sniper.
Once the five of you were back on the ship and Tech was taking off Wrecker was excitedly telling Crosshair how you threw a wall at a bunch of droids, taking out ten in one go. There seemed to be an impressed glint in his eye.
“That was good work back there,” Hunter told you sincerely. You smiled and thanked him, watching as the data was sent through encryption straight to Cody to do with as he saw fit.
Your first mission with the squad, a success you exchanged a smile with the sniper and sat in your victory.

Star Wars Fic Recs Feat. Time Travel
I think this is my favorite Star Wars trope… maybe just because sw is a tragedy and i want the characters to be happy.. maybe because I’m a sucker for the “reveal moment”… i don’t know.
Hopefully you all enjoy these as well!
-
(All fics are Gen unless otherwise specified!)
-
Back From the Future: Episode VI The Clone Wars by Ariel_Sojourner
“In which Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader travel back in time together to the Clone Wars era, have amazing adventures, and save the galaxy.”
Basically, Luke and Vader time travel and take over a clone battalion to change the major battles of the war. This is. A masterpiece. It’s insane. It feels like an actual, published story when you read it. It is told in a nonlinear way, so if you’re not into that, you probably won’t enjoy this. But I promise it’s one of the greatest fanfictions I’ve ever read, and there’s a reason it’s first on this list.
(Padme/Anakin and Obi-Wan/Satine, though neither ship is a focal point of the story)
-
there but for the grace of god by wanderlove
“There’s nothing particularly remarkable about Sullust.
Well, except for Obi-Wan’s time-traveling son. But, you know. Apart from that.”
I LOVE this fic. Young Luke is sent into the clone wars, and since he’s been raised by Obi-Wan on Tatooine, everyone assumes that he’s Obi’s kid. His appearance changes everything by causing the people around him to reveal deep secrets that would otherwise have led to the fall of the Jedi.
(Padme/Anakin and referenced Obi-Wan/Satine)

Old Masters, New Tricks by soft_but_gremlin
“Sixteen-year-old Obi-Wan Kenobi finds himself on Lothal in the middle of the Imperial Era. He has no idea why he's here or what all these white-clad troopers are for, but after a rocky start with a little Mandalorian, he finds out that his friend Luminara is in trouble and vows to rescue her.
Sabine Wren has no idea what this other Mandalorian is doing on Lothal, but he looks just like former rebel Korkie Kryze and he's got lightsabers on his belt. He's either going to be a fierce but foolish ally, or the Empire's paying bounty hunters to track down Jedi.”
One of the few SW fics I’ve read where characters are sent FORWARD in time! This one is really great, and I reread it all the time. The heartache Obi-Wan feels when he remembers that all his friends are dead and the heartache KANAN feels when Obi-Wan does something that reminds him of the Jedi…. Amazing.
-
Free Jedi to Good Home by soft_but_gremlin
“Jango Fett expected several things from this hunt on Galidraan. Three hypothermic Jedi children stumbling into his camp was not one of those things.”
Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka (and maybe a few others, later on 👀) are sent back in time to change the outcome of the massacre at Galidraan. This one is REALLY great and I especially love the sequel (which is currently unfinished but very suspenseful and exciting)
-
The Making of Mavericks by AppoApples
“Master Obi-Wan Kenobi couldn't let her just walk out into the galaxy without a lifeline. With Commander Cody and Captain Rex at his side, Obi-Wan tries to give Ahsoka some well meant advice. But the Force was listening and decided these four souls needed to blaze a better path. With all that has happened to them, waking up twenty-five years in the past shouldn't be a big deal, right?”
Time travel with Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Rex, AND Cody! FOUR people. Crazy. The classic “Obi-Wan is sent back to his childhood to change things before Anakin ever enters the picture” fic. It greatly surpassed my expectations for a time travel fic though! One of the best for sure.
-
Legacy by myrlendi (thehistorygeek)
“Three months after the Battle of Endor, Luke Skywalker goes in search of a rumoured Jedi temple in a secluded part of the Mid Rim. He finds within the temple nothing but a strange artifact, which unexpectedly brings him much closer to the Jedi of old than he ever thought he would be.
When Luke fails to return from his mission, Leia goes after him, retracing his steps to the ancient temple — and to the past, to the time of the Clone Wars and the waning years of the Old Republic. Under suspicion by the Jedi Order, the twins struggle to find a way back to their own time while trying to keep their knowledge of the future from affecting the past.”
Okay, time travel with Luke Skywalker is great (one of my favorite things!), but time travel with Luke AND Leia??? Perfect. I love when she’s included.. it usually leads to some very interesting interactions between her and Anakin.
-
Luminous We Are by AppoApples
“Master Obi-Wan Kenobi is filled with regrets when the Padawan he chooses is assigned to Anakin. When he discovers that it was Yoda's meddling that had prevented him from being a Padawan in his own youth, the betrayal runs deep. Wondering what could have been, a trick of the Force throws him back in time, where he learns to put his trust in the Force, not the High Council.
Redemption of Qui-Gon Jinn had he not been forced to take a Padawan before he was ready, and where the Order learns to take another course that put quite a wrench in the Sith plans. Start of the Clone Wars to 44BBY AU of the Apprentice books. Cheeky Obi-Wan and Mandalorian shenanigans.”
Obi-Wan Kenobi being adopted by Mandalorians is QUITE a popular trope in this fandom for some reason… I think it’s actually a tag on Ao3 now (don’t quote me on that). Anyway, this fic is one of the few where the time traveler is unable to rely on (very much of) their knowledge from the future.
(Obi-Wan/Quinlan)
-
The Kenobi Scandal by AppoApples
“One moment they are speeding on their way to Mos Eisley, only to be hit by a Force instigated sandstorm, and the next thing Ben Kenobi knows is he wearing his old armour with the Jedi insignia and Luke can't find the droids. What's a Jedi to do when he finds himself back before the fall of the Republic? Come up with a cover story more scandalous than time travel: ‘Luke, this is Anakin Skywalker. Anakin, this is my son, Luke Kenobi.’”
Amazing! I really like when we see the potential Luke has with some formal Jedi training. And although there is a cover story for Luke’s (and Obi-Wan’s, technically) time travel, there are still some lovely emotional outbursts :)
(Obi-Wan/Satine and Luke/Ahsoka)
-
Gone Are The Days by theycallmesuperboy
“While investigating an ancient Jedi distress signal in the Outer Rim, Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles are mysteriously sent back in time to the last days of the Republic, and stranded on Naboo, meeting two people Luke could only have ever dreamed of meeting: his parents.
Only, due to Luke's "quick thinking," the two are lead to believe that Luke and Wedge are just like them: a secretly married couple, due to Luke's status as a Jedi.”
Luke gets an opportunity to really get to know his dead parents, and Wedge gets to kiss Luke. I’m a sucker for the fake dating trope lmao, and combined with time travel? Zoo wee mama!
(Luke/Wedge and Padme/Anakin)
-
Significant Brain Damage by AppoApples
“Luke Skywalker finds himself in the past as Anakin Skywalker. Obi-Wan finds himself retraining his old apprentice who has permanent amnesia while also taking on Anakin's Padawan, being a General, a Council member -during a Galactic Civil War, and fighting for a Republic he's beginning to lose faith in. Clone Wars, no paradox, no easy fix it.”
I love this one so much. Luke has to kind of pretend to be Anakin.. but everyone around him just thinks he’s had some amnesia and a major personality change. I LIVE for the “why is Anakin so much nicer now” moments.
(Padme/Sabe and Obi-Wan/Satine)
Also you may notice that this is the FOURTH fic by AppoApples on this list… I love their ideas so much.
-
May Death Find You Alive by Must_Be_Thursday
“Anakin finds himself trapped in a nightmare, reliving the same day. He tries. He tries to change things, but it always ends the same.
With a broken bond and a dead best friend.
He's not sure how many times he'll be able to watch the life leave Obi-Wan before he loses his mind.”
Let’s switch it up! Groundhog Day style time loops are always fun, and this one saves the universe! So yay! Fr though, Anakin learns to trust Obi-Wan and it changes everything.
-
The More I Live The More I See This Life is Not About Me by K_R_Closson
“After touching a mysterious artifact, Cody's general is suddenly a child with the memories to match. Cody has to coax a suspicious adolescent back to base without alerting the nearby Separatists of their presence.
Reversing his general's age an easier fix than Cody thought it would be, but he didn't factor in the possibility that Obi-Wan might not want to give up his self in order to become General Kenobi again. It'd be easier to think if he didn't have an insidious voice in his head, whispering to him to distrust the Jedi.”
This one is technically just de-aging, with Obi-Wan becoming his thirteen year old self, but I consider it similar enough to time travel to be included, and it has a lot of the same tropes. It’s very well written, and the dialogue flows excellently with the descriptions.
-
what is necessary (for love and war) by hellowkatey
“His fingers reach for the hilt that has become as familiar as his own after that three-day journey back from Melida/Daan. He couldn’t stand to put the boy's saber down until he reached his quarters and reality finally set in.
Obi-Wan didn’t come back with him. Once again, he is without a Padawan.
The moment cool durasteel meets his fingertips, the overwhelming presence of Obi-Wan slams into him so hard the room begins to spin. Qui-Gon sinks to the floor, saber clutched in both hands and pressed tight against his chest as though it’s actually Obi-Wan he’s hugging.
‘You have to go back.’”
This time it’s Qui-Gon who is sent forward through time, into the clone wars. The time travel in this fic doesn’t really change anything (as in, it’s not a fix-it), but it gives some great insight into Qui-Gon’s character.
-
Chosen One (derogatory) by annathecrow
“Asajj Ventress, the chosen savior of the galaxy. Force help us all.”
VENTRESS is the one to go back in time. Isn’t that crazy??? Isn’t that an insane premise?????? It was SO fun to read.
(Ventress/Shmi)
-
One Step Forward, Two Steps Back by K_R_Closson
“Ahsoka Tano told Din to bring Grogu to the Seeing Stone on Tython, and Grogu would be able to call out to other Jedi. Ahsoka Tano did not say that other Jedi might call out to him or that the pillar of blue light was actually a type of planetary transportation.
Din ends up on a planet he's never heard of with nothing but his armor and his child. A lot has changed but his mandate hasn't. He must reunite Grogu with one of his kind. But first, he has to help these ade win a civil war against the dar'buir who abandoned them.”
Din travels back to the war on Melida/Daan, where one of our favorite padawans was struggling to lead the Young to victory (hint: he’s a fan favorite who almost always ends up being adopted by Mandalorians). I really like this one! It’s less about changing the past, and more about character growth and relationships.
-
Bonus: Incomplete Fics
I wanted to separate these from the fics above, which are all complete.
-
from this moment hangs eternity by EvanHart
“If Luke – Force, his son – was talking about slave chips, something must have gone wrong in the future.
Or, a six-year-old Luke ends up in the middle of the Clone Wars, meets his father, and changes the fate of the galaxy on the way.”
I’m a real sucker for child Luke. Gotta say. He’s ADORABLE. and moments of gut-wrenching sadness interrupted by his little sunshine smiles?? Oh my god?
Chapters: 10/15
-
Oya Manda’lor! by Cloud__Chaser
“After giving up his child to Luke Skywalker, Din Djarin has found himself without a purpose. Filling in the gaps by completing bounties for Boba Fett, Din comes across a strange artifact that leaves him stranded in time.
Who knows, maybe Din's complete lack of knowledge of the world outside of the outer rim will lead to the fall of the empire before it even begins...”
Din basically becomes the most admired person on Mandalore in the span of like. A week. after he travels back in time. It’s really funny, and something I like to read when I’m in a good mood!
Chapters: 38/?
(Din/Jaster)
Also, it’s been over a year since this updated (as of the date I’m posting this), so beware, it may or may not be abandoned.
-
Sith Lord Swell by AMournfulHowlInTheNight
“‘Well, looks like we're all Sith Lords, now. I hope you've all been practicing your most menacing laughter for our first run in with the Jedi Council.’
Ben could only sigh and raise a distasteful eyebrow at the cross shaped, red lightsaber he was given. Down the line other students were also handling their new weapons and robes with a raised eyebrow here and quizzical expression there.
‘Really, uncle?’
‘Really. I don't want to compete with the local Jedi population.’
Why did Jedi politics and time travel have to be so difficult?”
Like most Star Wars fans, I’m not a big fan of the sequels (‘somehow, Palpatine returned’ my ass), BUT! This fic, involving a young Ben Solo and old Luke Skywalker, was a lot of fun to read.
Chapters: 13/?
-
There is another Skywalker by WabiSabi
“‘They couldn't narrow down the precise relationship due to some strange contamination in the sample. But when they launched a search in the DNA databank they found a match. Reliability of 50%, which only happens between parent-child and—’
‘Siblings,’ Master Kenobi completes, voice faint. ‘Full-blood siblings.’
The clone nods. ‘She was estimated to be around 30-years-old, so by process of exclusion, Leia Solo would be General Skywalker’s older sister by 9 years.’”
This time, it’s just Leia who’s sent to the past! Technically Luke lives as a voice in her head, but it’s pretty much just Leia. Also, I really like the premise that the temple runs a DNA test and assumes that she’s Anakin’s sibling. It’s a lot of fun!
Chapters: 10/?
Also, it’s been over a year since this updated (as of the date I’m posting this), so beware, it may or may not be abandoned.
-
Companion of the Ancestors by Omegarose
“Ahsoka finds herself in a strange place, out of contact with Obi-Wan and alone with the twins. The Force feels like it hasn't in years, and she runs into a man who has to be an idiot for the way he's acting like a Jedi two years after Order 66.
((Dooku, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka all meet each other when they're 19 years old. With the addition of the Skywalker twins and a slightly-younger (than Ahsoka remembers him) Yoda.))”
I love Ahsoka, I love Luke and Leia, I love Obi-Wan… I love this fic. All of the secrets and reveals and drama! So much fun!
Chapters: 10/?
You’re not able to read this fic unless you have an Ao3 account, but those are easy to make. If anyone doesn’t know how to make one, I’m happy to make a post explaining the process!
-
That’s all, folks! 20 fics is… a lot. And there are A LOT of characters in all that… So, sorry for the exorbitant amount of tags I’ll be using here. Happy reading!

Meeting Cyare’s father (or Anakin Skywalker doesn’t like his new son-in-law very much)
(Anakin doesn’t go Dark, everyone lives, everyone’s happy. No Sequels, rehashed Heir to the Empire instead of the OT. DinLuke, minor Anidala, CodyWan, HanLeia)
Din was really relieved about his helmet on, but then he remembered that the Jedi can feel other people’s emotions. No luck, then.
His cyare’s father’s eyes were trying to burn a hole in his head.
– Let me get it straight, Luke. A Mandalorian bounty hunter. – The voice could cut the stone better than a lightsaber.
– Mum likes him, – Luke was smiling, but Din saw him tensing for a fight. A cybernetic hand squeezed his.
– I didn’t raise my only children to give them away to some criminals, - Skywalker-senior stood up from the couch and started walking back and forth. – First I have to agree to allow my princess marry some smuggler…
– Han did help us to stop Thrawn.
– … and then my son wants to partner a bounty hunter, - Luke’s father wasn’t listening to him, anger coming off him like waves – Din was certain he wasn’t Force-sensitive, but one may not be to feel the Dark Side emanating from Anakin Skywalker at that moment.
Din remembered Luke’s words before ‘meeting with father’s half of the family’: ‘My Dad will become angry, I’m sure – he didn’t react to Han well, too – but don’t worry, he’ll cool down’. The warning rang in his ears when he saw Skywalker-senior for the first time: tall, with a rich mane of greying curls, but still very handsome former Jedi assessed him and made up him mind immediately. ‘Not worthy’. Now they were sitting on the softest couch Din’s ass had ever been on, in the richest living room Din’s eyes ever seen, and ‘officially’ letting Din into a very branchy Skywalker family tree. Or, trying.
– Dad, I’m almost thirty, I can decide for myself. And Din’s a hero of his own – he kept Grogu save and sound, stopped Moff Gideon, and also saved the town of Mos Pelgo from the krayt dragon…
– But a bounty hunter! – Skywalker-senior cried exasperatedly. – And, to add to it, a Mandalorian! It is all your fault, Obi-Wan! – he suddenly turned to Luke’s uncle, quietly watching all this until this moment.
– Wait, why? – the man was older than Luke’s father, gray hair and beard and mischievous twinkle in the eyes. So far he hadn’t said anything, but Luke had said his uncle would be supportive. Now it was time to find out. – My fault Luke fell in love?
– With a Mando! – Skywalker raised his voice. – Who in this family has a thing for Mandos?
– Do not speak about Satine like this, – Obi-Wan’s voice became steely, – and anyway, Cody is not a Mandalorian.
– He is a clone of a Mandalorian!
Din started to lose the thread of the conversation. He even wished he had a Jedi ability to speak telepathically and could ask Luke what the kark was going on. He shifted his head, trying not to be very obvious in his confusion, Luke caught his gaze and shrugged.
– Do you really think I taught Luke… - Luke’s uncle sighed. – We have been here before, Anakin. Luke is an adult, he can think for himself. If he brought young Din Djarin here, then he is certain in him and his own feelings. Did your fits of reality rejection change Leia’s mind?
Luke’s father breathed in and out heavily, clearly holding himself from harsher words, but reluctantly accepting the truth.
– Maybe, you should just talk to Din? – Luke’s uncle didn’t look happy, but so wasn’t Din hearing this suggestion.
‘Let me talk, – Din remembered Luke’s words. – When Dad started being… um… not very nice to Han – critical of sorts – Han started talking back. It escalated, some chairs were flying around, Dad and Leia exchanging angry remarks – Dad said she deserved better, Leia insisted she loved Han – and Han himself wasn’t making everything easier. It took two professional negotiators – Mum and Uncle Obi-Wan – to calm them down. Still, Leia and Han are happily married and have a son. So it’s just an unpleasant procedure you have to endure’.
– Maybe, he would take the helmet off for starters? – Poison in Skywalker’s voice could kill a bantha. No, a herd of banthas.
– I cannot, - Din was glad his voice didn’t tremble. He wasn’t afraid of the man, but watching a family drama, and, worse, being the reason of it didn’t feel well. He didn’t want to cause a rift in Luke’s relationship with his father. – My Creed prohibits me to.
– Veery convenient, - Skywalker smiled a tight and unpleasant smile, ignoring pleading and exasperated eyes of his son. – We’re a family now, you don’t show your face even to your family? Luke, have you seen his face?
– Dad, now it’s rude. Of course, I did. – It was obvious Luke was holding well, but his patience wasn’t infinite, too. – It’s only for immediate members.
Technically, after realizing the existence of different Mandalorian Ways, Din wasn’t sure he couldn’t do that. After all, taking off helmets didn’t make Bo-Katan Kryze or Sabine Wren less Mandalorians. But even if he would – not for this man.
The door slid open, a man quietly entered the room and stood behind Luke’s uncle’s armchair, resting his elbows on the chair back. Could he be Boba Fett’s relative? Because he was a carbon copy of Din’s friend, albeit much older. An intricate scar was winding its way from his temple down around his left eye.
– I am being quite nice! – Skywalker protested, dragging all attention to himself. – I can’t believe Padmé actually said ‘I like this guy, let’s take him in’.
– You know, I agree with you, - the probably-Boba’s-relative suddenly said. Luke’s uncle turned to him with puzzled expression. Luke looked disappointed. – The kids take after their mother in their bad choice of life partners.
Skywalker seemed about to blow up. He grabbed something from his belt that appeared to be a black respiratory mask and pressed it to his nose and mouth. The mechanical labored breathing sounds filled the room, Skywalker was drilling the man with burning eyes.
– Now, Cody, that was harsh, - frankly, to Din’s mind, Luke’s uncle didn’t look apologetic a lot. Luke sighed, his shoulders relaxed.
– I thought you were serious! – he even laughed a little, then gather himself again. – Dad, you do realize your approval or disapproval won’t change anything?
– Unfortunately, - Skywalker’s voice also sounded mechanical. – I believe no one in the galaxy or farther is worthy of my children. – He signed. – I guess I have to work with what we have here. – He shot a look at Cody, who smiled in return, and this smile was ‘I know you know I’m right, and I unashamedly love it’.
– Very well, - Obi-Wan clapped his hands. – Now as everything is settled, - Din clearly heard ‘Anakin is settled’, - we can share some stories and know each other better, right, Din?
Luke looked at Din with shining eyes. Din signed quietly. This look was worth all these awkward minutes.

More for the bounty hunter AU
more to be explained later!
Luke: *sneaks in through the window*
Cody, turning in his chair and flicking the light on: You want to tell me where you've been all night?
Luke: Uh I- I was with Mayday
Mayday, turning his chair: Wanna try again?
Luke: okay fine i was with Boba
Boba, perched on top of the bookcase: strike three bitch
Luke: Tech?
Tech, emerging from the potted plant in the corner: keep digging that hole, buddy
Luke: yeah well, does Briggs know where you guys are?
Briggs, dropping from the ceiling: Don't even try it
Anakin: Beru and Owen are always out late!
The fridge and freezer doors open, revealing a very cold Beru and Owen: You can't pin this on us!
Luke: Least I came back, I haven't seen Din all day!
Din, riding in doing a wheelie on a speeder bike: Speeder Patrol coming in!!
Luke: okay but Crosshair isn't here either! Why am I getting in trouble?!
Crosshair, perched next to Mayday: hey asshole
Luke: What about Fox???
Fox, muffled beneath the floorboards: Nice try, motherfucker
Luke: Okay, but what about Obi-wan?!
Obi-wan, slurping a juice box next to Cody: Think again

Fox… well. Fox looks like he fought twenty drunk loth cats and hasn’t slept in a few months. Judging by the little twitches that go through his body from time to time, his blood shot eyes, and the patches of gray hair at his temples. There’s cuts and scrapes all over his red painted armor and a few new small scars on his cheek and across his nose.
“You look like bantha shit.” It’s out of his mouth before he can stop himself. But it’s true. Fox looks like bantha shit and in desperate need of a long nap.
“When’s the last time you slept, Ori’vod?” Wolffe’s brows are knitted together in worry and his usual jovial demeanor around them has disappeared.
“What day is it?” Fox asks.
“Zhellday. Why?” Rex says.
“I’ve haven’t slept since last Benduday.”
That… actually explains a lot. “Fox…”
“Look. You wouldn’t sleep either with both the chancellor constantly looking down at everything you do. Even though he’s the heap of bantha dung that screws up every single piece of paperwork we give him!” Fox’s arms flail around while he spews and vents, and he has to take a step or two back in order to not get walloped on accident.
“Then we have to keep an eye on kriffing Prime all the time. Who’s not exactly a model prisoner if you can believe it. Not to mention…! Most of the people on Coruscant are kriffing drunk idiots, bounty hunters, or shit faced politicians! So tell me, Cody. When do I have the time to sleep?!

Clone Trooper X
Okay, since there’s been a lot of discussion around CX-1 from the season 3 trailer, I want to give us all a little refresher on how the original Clone X was revealed to us in season 2, the similarities they’re showing between him and CX-1, and what purpose they might be serving in the story.
This is not meant to engage discussion on whether the helmeted CX paratrooper in the trailer is Tech. We don’t know yet if the helmeted clone and the helmetless, deep-voiced clone are the same, or two different CX troopers. All we know is that the helmetless one who has spoken lines in the trailer, is named CX-1 in the subtitles.
Season 2:
We are introduced to the assassin clone known as Clone X in the beginning of episode 7, The Clone Conspiracy, as he is tracking and firing on two clones who were there during the destruction of Kamino and had been contemplating revealing Rampart’s deceptions. Many people thought this could be Crosshair, but based on his less skillful shooting ability and the faint glimpses of his unusual armor, I didn’t think it was.
We then see him fully via a holocall to Rampart, where the garble of his helmet (again, very different than a regular helmet modulator) conceals his identity as he is told to hunt down Slip and Chuchi. Later he finds and kills Slip and several of Chuchi’s guards, attempting to kill her during a prolonged chase (for an assassin, his shots are noticeably not as precise as Crosshair’s or many bounty hunters are), and Captain Rex as well, who appears out of the fog and saves her. He had been in the area to help Slip get to safety, and ended up stunning CX and bringing him into the Martez sisters’ garage for interrogation.
This of course ends up being the most fascinating aspect of this clone’s arc. Rex undoes his helmet and both he and Chuchi are shocked to find a familiar clone face hidden beneath it. Chuchi wonders why a trooper would be doing this and Rex feels like they’re not a trooper at all, but that he doesn’t know what they are. Once CX wakes up from being stunned, Rex tries to get him to talk and find out who sent him and what his mission is, but he stays stubbornly silent.
Once Rex offers to release him if he’ll just talk, he begrudgingly spits out “no you won’t, Captain Rex,” showing that he knows who Rex is and that he doesn’t seem to be surprised that he is alive, even though Rex’s official records state he died. CX then hauntingly says “You’re fighting the wrong battle, brother—you’re limited.” When Rex asks him what that makes him, he responds even more chillingly “a believer” before biting down on a suicide capsule.
None of this terminology or behavior is normal for clones or imperial troops that we have ever seen before. He appears to have been brainwashed in some manner that is very different than any enhancements or conditioning that Crosshair went through or that other imperial clones such as Cody seem to demonstrate. He has become a tool solely at the disposal of Rampart and whoever else in the Empire is putting him to use.
This seems to be confirmed in the next episode, where in examining his body, Rex had determined that all of his original CT identifications implanted by the Kaminoans had been wiped. Perhaps his mind had been too. CX is said to have been born in the first wave of troopers in 32 BBY, which would explain how he knows Rex, and that he is not a new clone creation but an original CT trooper who has been “repurposed” for this program.
Note that in this season we don’t get an answer on who is actually overseeing his training or brainwashing or anything else related to him. He seemed to be taking orders only from Rampart, but with Rampart off the stage after these episodes, it seemed likely that this CX program was bigger than just Rampart’s department or efforts. Sure enough, season 3 seems to be confirming that.
Season 3 (TRAILER SPOILERS AHEAD):
We see at least one, perhaps two new CX troopers in the season 3 trailer. A clone assassin named CX-1 has voiceover that precedes the reveals of an imperial commando, the bounty hunters we’ll see this season, as well as Nala Se with the words “They are coming…” and then it switches to the visual of his face as he finishes “for ALL of you.” And the visuals then show a quick sequence of the majority of our heroes—Wolffe, Hunter, Rex, Echo, Fireball, and Omega, and Wrecker—the “all of you”. This speaking clone has the same generic face and haircut that CX showed in season 2, as well as the same deeper register but with a honeyed smoothness to his voice that is very different from the rest of the regs or the gravelly pitches of the Batch boys. All in all, he seems like a copy (I know I know) of CX in season 2.
In both instances, it appears the X troopers dialogue comes when they are being interrogated by someone they were trying to hunt down. Beyond that, we still don’t know much about their origin and purpose in the broader shift away from CT to TK troopers mingled with Palpatine’s cloning efforts.
Also, I just can’t stop thinking about both troopers’ voices. Why are they so much deeper? And CX-1’s smoothness compared to most of the clones makes me think that the X-number troopers are clones of CX and much younger? Their voices haven’t had as much usage as the clones who have been through the entire war? I don’t know. It’s intriguing though.
I am fascinated to see exactly how much more expansive of a role the X troopers and potentially their program are going to serve in this season. Perhaps they will remain mysterious and simply be yet another way that Palpatine and Hemlock have twisted the clones’ existence to suit their purpose, and to act as a harbinger for what’s to come. Or perhaps they will be a pivotal hinge of this season in more depth this time. We shall see.
Now go forth and speculate 😁

Helloooo,
I'm dropping this into your ask box because of the post you made about a Cody-centric fanfic? I love the concept so much!!! I have so many thoughts about Cody on Kamino, his feelings on Clone Culture and him beeing just such an amazing Commander, brother and mum. Cause he is mum coded. I probably wont fit them all into this rant so it's possible that I will randomly ask you again, because I remembered something or I had an idea, I hope you don't mind :).
So first of all, you said you wanted to deal with Cody and Jango wich I find realy cool. I realy would love to see maybe some interaction or at least Cody's thoughts on Boba as well. I think the clones might have mixed feelings about Boba since he is treated so differently but is he actually? I mean do they ever get jelous or annoyed by him? I don't think Cody would be but maybe some of his brothers. And what's ot like for Boba, with no real friends his age, because they all age mucg faster then him? Does he even know the clones? Mhmmm many thoughts here as you can maybe tell.
Also I don't know how you wan't to do the whole Jango and Cody relationship (feel free to ignore this haha), but I always imagined that, personality-wise Cody would not actually like him. With Jango beeing a bounty hunter who sells his Service to the highest bidder, beeing a lone fighter and also rather self-centric and a bit arrogant, I imagine he would not fit well with Cody's loyalty, his morals, his selflessness and his devotion to his brothers. However, I think Cody is fascinated by what Jango represents. He is an original. He has knowlege of the world outside of Kamino. He is allowed to have a personality. He is free. He is his own human beeing. These are all things, Cody wants so badly, for himself and for all his brothers. And, through Jango, he can get little glimpses at that, can phantom what it would mean or be like, can catch a glimmer of hope. Even though it could be argued that this aching and knowing you have to settle for a fraction of everything youncould be is worse than having never known about the possibilities at all. That's why I think his relationship with Jango is incredibly important, because it's not just about them as persons but also about the collision of their worlds and the clones' potential and what the Kaminoans made them.
I don't know how you want to approach clone culture, if you want it mandalorian or not, (I always imagine a heavy mandalorian influence, but altered to fit their restricted lifes and added with little things that come just from their very unusual everyday life on Kamino) but if you want Mandalorian Influence then I think Jango plays a very important role in that as well. And maybe that's also why Cody has very complicated feelings about him. I think Clone Culture is incredibly important to him, because it can make them feel like people and Jango brought them something to start with, to hold onto. Does he idiolize Jango? I don't think so. Not as a person. But he wouldn't be who he is without him (he wouldn't even exist wow) so... it's complicated.
I think my feelings about his batch are a topic for another time, but I NEED them adopting Baby Rex. That's very important to me. They are all protective older brothers.
On the Codywan topic: I like to imagine that Cody already catched a glimpse at him when Obi Wan visited Kamino in AotC. And... not to say that he had an instant crush, but I do think seeing someone from the outside world, maybe even the first other human that didn't bear his face, had a huge impact on him. I actually wrote a scene about that a while ago (someday I will get on with writing my own Codywan Fics haha), it's in german but if you want I can translate it and send it to you so you can see what I mean. I think his visit probably was a huge turning point in their time on Kamino. It meant the war was coming and they all anticipated it, but did they realy want it to come? It would get them off Kamino, but they would also most likely die sooner or later.
In terms of them realy meeting and falling in love I usually cant even decide what flavor I prefer. I usually love the shit out of every Codywan variety, if it's a Cody fresh from Kamino still ideolizing the Jedi and then beeing taken aback by how much they actually care and how unsuited for war they realy are. Or if he has had a few missions already and then beeing surprised that Obi Wan is actually quite capable and conpetent. Anyway I think Obi Wan earns Cody's respect by beeing competend and badass, then his trust by caring for his men and always listening to Cody in making his plans and decisions and then his love by beeing his caring, compessionate, selfless and loving self. Obi Wan is just so effortlessly treating them like persons, with him, Cody doesn't have to fight for that and it makes everything so much lighter. They share the burgen of leadership and trsponsibilty and it's a heavy burden but together it's just a little bit easier, just a little bit more durable. But hey, you know all this, I'm just rambling at this point.
Depending how early into the war you want them to meet, I also love some Cody and PadawanAnakin interaction. Just him and Rex getting into shenenigans as Commander and Captain of the 212th and Cody and Obi Wan standing by, facepalming. Older sybling solidarity is important part of their dynamic to me haha.
Oh god, I already wrote far to much, but just for the last part: I'd love for clone-rebellion-era Cody to meet either of Quinlan, Ventress and Hondo, if not all of them. Ventress' history with the clones (Wolffe) and Obi Wan would make for a very interesting dynamic and I can see him just beeing completely done with Hondo and Quinlan, just like he was in Clone Wars (their dynamic was already so fun to watch haha), only now, they also remind him of Obi Wan and he doesn't now if that makes it better or worse but it certainly makes it more personal. Especially with Quinlan it's probably hard, he has every reason not to trust Cody and to Cody it's probsbly hard to accept that Quinlan survived if he at this point still thinks that Obi Wan died. If not, maybe Quinlan can help him find Obi Wan and then we also have Quinlan and Obi Wan Reunion! Only if you even want a reunion of course haha.
OK anyway I'm sorry I rambled and I also apologize for the millions of spelling mistakes I probably made but... You asked! I will probably be back with more thoughts if you'll have me, haha. Keep me updated with how this fic is coming along, I'd hate to miss it :)!
Lots of fun and good writing!
I'm really hapoy you reached out and shared your ideas with me, that's why i put that post up after all ;)
I've already written part of the Kamino Arc by now, but I will try to include what you said, because it actually fits rather well with what I already have. In my story Jango takes an interest in Cody first and pays special attention to him. In the beginning Cody likes this and feels more mandalorian pride, but throughout the next years his admiration for Jango and what he stands for transforms into resentment because he matures and learns what it means for Jango to do what he had done and also, because the special treatment he gets separates him from his brother's. He realizes the unfairness of how his brothers are treated and how they seem to start to dislike Cody too. He transforms from Kote, who is Jango's protege, to Cody, who is the clone's certified big brother. He's a bit proud and selfish in the beginning, but I want to show how he changes and how he came to care about his brothers so much, even more than most other clones.
I'm not at the Rex part yet, but Cody will probably notice him and the batch will adopt him.
At the moment Cody and Boba have a really good relationship, due to Jango liking Cody. But when Cody eventually prioritizes his brothers over being Janho'g favourite and starts to get angry with him, Boba will probably feel abandoned by him. I feel like he would think Cody has chosen everything else over him and Jango probably won't let them spend time with each other anymore. So Boba once loved Cody and eventually resents him for leaving him alone once more. Boba grew up isolated from everyone else and Cody was one of the only ones Jango allowed to spend time with him, since the other clones don't like Boba for getting to be a child.
Cody focuses a lot of his time on the clones afterwards and neglects his relationship with Boba. I will come back to this later when Jango dies and the whole thing with Boba and Mace and the Bounty Hunters starts during the war.
I hope this fits with what you think about Cody's characterization.
Feel free to add anything you want to this. You can also ask questions, if you want to know how I'll handle certain relationships or events.
I'm not really planning the Codywan part until I'm finished with Kamino and know where this story has led me, but I will come back to your points then.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I hope you like mine hahha
I also plan on uploading a glimpse of the beginning sometime next week and I hope you'll give me feedback on that one. :)
PS. I'm actually German too, so if you want to you can send me yours. That's also why I'd be glad for everyone to point out spelling mistakes or something similar.

Not gonna lie, I had this prompt on my mind for a long time now, and it was the perfect occasion to bring it to life 😄 (Also, I was greatly inspired by Dress by Taylor Swift for this one, because the first time I heard this song, I immediately went "OMG ITS FITTING THAT PROMPT SO PERFECTLY AND THE VIBE IS INSANE 😭😭" so yeah, I listened to it a lot while writing this ahah) Enjoy ❤
Disclaimer : I'm still struggling to understand English grammar properly, English is not my native language and even if I have proofread my writtings several times, there is probably still typos in it. I'm very self conscious about it and I apologize for it in advance, but I'm doing my best to do better and I'm actively working at improving my writting skills !
So if you spot a typo, feel free to point it to me so I can correct it, it will be much appreciated :)
Today was a very special day for Senator Amidala. An important treaty has just been signed with a previously neutral little planet from the Outer Realm in order for it to join the Republic, thanks to her. She personally negotiated it with the head of their government, a close friend of her from when she was Queen.
As a tradition to celebrate the friendship between the two nations as well as the signature of the treaty, a special gala was organized on Coruscant that night, in one of the reception halls of the Senate. Numerous Senators were invited alongside the Chancelor himself as well as the planet’s delegation members and their families.
Unfortunately, the Trade Federation wasn’t really pleased to hear about it. Such a decision meant that the opportunity for them of taking advantage of and privatizing the planet’s rare resources was now ruined, and all on the fact that said planet had very close bonds with Naboo. So now both the Senate and the Jedi Council were concerned about the Federation sending some bounty hunter to attempt at Padme’s life as a revenge.
You, too, were particularly worried about the security of your dear friend during this event. But despite the understanding between the Republic and its new ally, its people still weren’t very fond of the Jedis nor the Clones. They agreed to trade their resources and to follow new laws, but not to engage in the war. So its representatives especially asked that no armed forces showed up at the party, and they made it a serious business.
That’s why you had to found some less conventional solutions to ensure her safety.
***
“Ho, wow ! This one looks perfect on you !” Padme lets out enthusiastically as soon as you get out of her suite’s bathroom, wearing a long, close-fitting, flowy burgundy dress with a square neck and long puffy transparent sleeves.
“Are you sure ?” you hesitantly ask.
“Of course !” she excitedly answers, “Every dresses that you tried suited you, you know, but this one, it really accentuates your figure, you’re stunning in it ! Plus, the color matches with mine, I think it will add credibility to your cover !”
You walked to the big mirror hanging on the wall of the room and paused in front of it. You stayed still for a moment, before turning around several times, running your hand across the heavy fabric, examining the unusual attire from every angles.
“Yeah, I think you’re right, it’s beautiful … Ok, I choose this one then !” you quickly conclude, smiling cheerfully.
The idea came from Anakin. In his opinion, the best possible person to protect the Senator can only be a jedi. He was very frustrated about the fact that this person, in this situation, couldn’t be him, for his face was already known as part of the Order by the planet’s delegation, and his presence would only create a huge diplomatic incident.
That’s when he suggested sending a jedi that the representatives had never met before, a woman preferably, and pretending that she was one of the Senator’s favorite handmaidens. It was public knowledge that Padme was very close to her companions, and often brought some of them at events along with her, so it was the perfect excuse.
Ahsoka was too recognizable to, and as you were close friend with Padme and a complete stranger to the guests, you ended up being the chosen one, much to the Nabooian’s joy.
You were nearly the same height and size as her, so she happily offered you to borrow one of her many dresses. You weren’t used to that kind of fancy and expensive outfits, for you were rarely letting go of your conventional jedi robes. It was a unique experience for you. You were nervous as ever, a bit uncomfortable, but excited at the same time. Each piece of Padme’s wardrobe was a work of art, and being given the opportunity to wear one of them was a huge privilege.
She was really supportive with you, trying her best to make you feel beautiful and comfortable. You both knew it was supposed to be a protection mission as well as a diplomatic event, but at the same time, you both internally knew that it was the perfect excuse to spend some good times together.
Once the trying on was done, you still had a couple hours to wait before the beginning of the party. Padme had a few meetings to attempts with others senators until then. You didn’t had anything much to do, so after dressing yourself back into your usual clothes, you decided to go visit General Kenobi and Commander Cody, who you knew were just back from their last mission.
You didn’t get the time to see them yet since they returned, but you heard from Anakin that the mission had been a success, and that only a few and minor injuries were reported. It was a really reassuring news, for you were spending most of your time with Obi Wan’s battalion, and just like him, you grew very fond of these men. Especially Cody. You couldn’t help but worry about them when they had to go on a mission without you, like for this one.
When you entered the aircraft hangar, you soon met a few troopers who greeted you warmly and told you that their superiors were in the commanding room debriefing the mission. When you entered it, Obi Wan was the first to notice you, smiling at you instantly.
“Hello there (Y/N) ! I knew that you were going to find us soon !”
Cody rose his head from the table to look at you, and his face seemed to suddenly enlighten when he saw you.
“Hey” he gently addresses you with a soft smile.
“Hey ! I’m so glad to see you ! It seems like an eternity since the last time you’ve been here … I heard that the mission was a success, congratulations ! I hope you’re planning on celebrating that !”
The cheerful remark made the two men chuckle.
“The news is fast to spread as I see !” the jedi amusingly replies, knowing perfectly well from where you got the information.
“Yeah, of course we’re gonna celebrate ! We have at least three days off until the last departure, and our men really deserve to take a break and relax.” The Commander was looking at you in the eyes, and his voice was reflecting his relief to be back from that mission safe and sound. And most of all, he was glad to finally be reunited with you.
“But first,” he adds in a more bored tone, “for the two of us, there’s plenty of paper work to do, that report is gonna be a long one, and I don’t know when we’re gonna finish it …”
“Actually, not today Commander.” Obi Wan suddenly interrupts him, starring at him with an insistent and meaningful look.
“Ah, yes, obviously ! I nearly forgot about that !”
They soon noticed your confused expression, to which the jedi answered with a grin.
“We heard that a party was hosted at the Senate tonight, and we also heard that you were taking part of it, for a professional purpose, of course.”
Your raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah, the news is really fast spreading, indeed” you mumble, knowing perfectly from where it was coming from as well.
“Oh, you noticed that too ?” he sarcastically lets out before pursuing, ”It’s gonna be a really big event, and since most of the Senators will be gathered here in the same place, the Chancellor asked a part of the 501st to support the Senate’s guards. I’ll be there too. We’re not allowed to enter the ballroom where the party will be hosted nor the main access corridor, but we’ll be all around the building and the senator’s quarters to ensure that no unexpected visitor could break inside. We will watch over the senators and escort them to the main hall, but not after that point. We’re gonna need to be discreet to not bother our guests.”
“I’ve always wondered why they are so uneasy around jedis and clones …” you whisper to yourself.
“Cody and Anakin will escort you and Padme from her quarters to the main hall.” he adds, “You’ll wear an earpiece in case you’ll need to contact them, they’ll stay near in case of something happen or you’ll need help. The Chancellor still gave us the permission to step in if something go wrong.”
“Great then, we have nothing to worry about with these two courageous men by our side !” you say, looking at Cody with a teasing smile.
His eyes widened and he blushed slightly, looking away quickly from you as a little nervous laugh escaped his mouth.
Then, you got closer from Obi Wan, and mutter in his ear quietly enough for Cody not to hear.
“Let me guess, Anakin volunteered for that, didn’t he ?”
Of course, he did, you knew him well enough to know that, and you knew about him and Padme for a long time now.
In fact, Obi-Wan and Rex knew too, probably half of the Jedi Order had noticed it, and you were pretty sure that a lot more people were suspecting something. You couldn’t blame them, they were two of your best friends, and the last thing you wanted was to cause them trouble. You knew the Jedi Code like the back of your hand, but after all, they weren’t doing anything bad, and they seemed happy together, and that was the only thing that really mattered to you. Plus, you knew way too well that not getting attached was a hard thing to do.
“Well”, he mutters back, “they both volunteered.”
It was your turn to widen your eyes. You briefly glanced at Cody, who didn’t seem to understand what it was all about.
“Ho really …” you muffle, looking back at a mocking jedi who apparently found your surprised expression very funny, “that’s great” you add, trying not to look too flustered.
Yes, not getting attached was very hard, even for a jedi. Obi-Wan had learned it the hard way in the past, and he couldn’t help but unconsciously notice the little signs of growing attachment in anybody he was close too by now. The little exchanged glances and smiles, the little attentions, the complicity … He could sense the worries and the fondness for one another, the bonds getting stronger. He witnessed friendships turning to love many times. He was very good at feeling that kind of things.
So of course, he knew for a long time that something was eventually going to happen between Cody and you.
“Well, I have to go, I need to meet the council, they want to see me before tonight.” He turns toward the officer, ”Commander, I’ll join you in your office later, we’ll still have time to at least start that report before your special mission !”, then he looks at you with a teasing smile, “(y/n), I’ll see you tonight, I can’t wait to see you in civilian clothes !”
“Yeah, it’s gonna be a real special occasion for sure !” you laugh, ”See you later !”
He greeted you with a nod before escaping the room, leaving you and Cody alone.
The clone quickly turned toward you with a questioning look, getting closer in an instant.
“What exactly did you whispered to him before ?” he asks with curiosity.
“Ho, nothing, just jedi’s things …”
“Yeah, jedi’s things, of course …” he repeats suspiciously, not buying it.
“Hey,” you let out after a moment, in a more serious yet soft tone, ”how are you ? That mission was a long one, you must be exhausted …”
“It was long, indeed”, he sighs, “but I’ll be fine. As long as my men are safe, everything will be fine now.”
“Are you sure it’s gonna be okay for tonight ? I mean, it’s gonna end very late, and waiting here for hours will be exhausting too … You can still ask to stay in your quarters, you know. The 501st and the Coruscant Guards will be here, and I’m sure that Obi Wan will understand, he could replace you … Maybe you should take some rest, you deserve it too.”
Although you now knew that he volunteered, you were still worried about him. He looked tired, and you didn’t want to make it worse.
“It’s gonna be okay, don’t worry. As the General said, we have a couple of days off to rest, and nothing except some paper work to do tomorrow. I’ll be able to sleep for the entire morning, and even for the next one if I want !”, he tries to reassure you, “Plus, I don’t want to miss out the opportunity of witnessing your theatrical skills at playing the senator’s handmaid !” he adds with a mischievous grin.
“Stop making fun of me, I didn’t ask for any of that, and I’m sure that your “theatrical skills” are no better than mine anyway ...” you grumble, rolling your eyes and feigning annoyance.
“You’re right”, he chuckles, “I’ll be completely frightened if I were you, but I know that you’re gonna make it, and I’m sure that you’re gonna look great wearing something else than those robes ...” his grin has turned into a fond smile as he was speaking, and the feeling of his gaze settled on you made your heart beat faster.
“Well, thanks, I hope so …” you briefly answer, praying for your cheeks not to start blushing too much.
When you left the commanding room soon after, your chest was pondering with a mix of nervousness and excitation. You couldn’t help but replay his words about your evening’s outfit over and over again in your head. You were impatient for him to see you in that dress, but at the same time, it was making you very anxious and self-conscious. What if you weren’t that good looking you thought ? And what if he’ll find it disappointing ?
As you were trying to get rid of those poisoning thoughts, you didn’t notice the long and desirous look that Cody was sending your way as you passed the door. Whatever you were going to wear this evening, he knew that you will be beautiful anyway.
***
There were now just a couple minutes left until the moment you were supposed to attempt to the party. Padme and you were finishing to prepare yourselves, adjusting your clothes, styling your hair and applying some makeup on. You had never been one for the makeup before. Although the eccentric dresses had always intrigued you, makeup wasn’t that appealing to you. But Padme did a great job at corrupting you into at least wearing some mascara and lipstick, to accentuate your “beautiful lips and expressive eyes” as she said, and you absolutely bought it, allowing her to apply those on you herself.
You were looking at you in the mirror, fully dressed up and ready to go, when a knock ringed against the door. You jumped in surprise and felt your heart starting to race, thinking about what was waiting for you on the other side. About who, more precisely.
“Come in !” Padme’s joyful voice answers the knock, causing the door to immediately half open, revealing a smiling Anakin.
“Are you ready, Senator ?” he asks, trying to sound as formal as possible, but still wearing a smitten look on his face at the sight of his beloved.
“Yes, we’re ready ! Just a minute, please !” The door closed again as she came toward you, gently settling her hands on your shoulders, squeezing them slightly in a reassuring gesture.
“There’s no need to be nervous, you’re beautiful ! I know you’re supposed to be on a mission, but you still have the right to enjoy the night, you know.” Her smile was so warm and kind that it instantly made you feel better.
“Thank you, Padme, I’ll try !” you chuckle.
“Great then, if you don’t mind following me ...” she offered you her arm with a wink, and you took it without hesitation.
“Ready ?” she asks, a hand on the doorknob.
“Ready !” you let out enthusiastically, taking a deep breath.
The door opened in a muffled swoosh, showing a couple of blue armored clones forming a guard of honor on both side of the corridor. Your eyes widened at the view, and you looked around you in surprise. You weren’t expecting that much attention. In addition of the troopers were, on the right, near you, Obi-Wan and Rex, and on your left, near Padme, Anakin and Cody.
Your eyes instinctively went in search for each other’s, and when they met, everything and everyone that was around you seemed to disappear. It was so intense that you could nearly feel his look piercing thought your skin, for he was devouring you with his gaze right now, completely mesmerized by your gorgeousness.
Obi-Wan’s voice pulled you out of your thoughts when he called your name, and you barely catched it up on time to answer him without looking too distracted.
“ … right, (y/n) ?”
“Yes, of course !” you nod, without even minding what he was talking about, breaking the eyes contact with his Commander.
“Great then, everything is on point, let’s escort you to that party, Senator !”
He opened the way, leading the group toward the main hall. You threw a last look at Cody, that he returned with a soft and encouraging smile, before putting his helmet back on, just in time to cover the heavy blush that was starting to appear on cheeks.
You went down the corridor in a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere, and even if you were all trying to keep it as professional as possible, you still caught a few fond looks between Padme and Anakin, not knowing that, carefully hidden under his bucket, Cody was sending you the exact kind of enamored glances.
“That’s where we leave you.” Obi Wan says when you reached the entrance of the hall. “You’re in charge now, (y/n)”, he told you, looking at you right in the eyes, ”you know what to do if anything happen.”
“Of course I do, General Kenobi !” you mockingly exclaim, causing him to roll his eyes.
“I should have asked Padme to keep an eye in you instead of the contrary.” he teases. You only answered was a tongue out, which made everyone around you cackle. It had always been that way between the two of you, teasing and affectionately bothering each other.
Cody internally flinched at your bold gesture, wondering what it would be like to taste your lips, if only he could try right now ... But he couldn’t, so he just bites his own instead, trying to brush off all the unholy thoughts suddenly taking over his mind.
As you headed toward the entrance of the ball room, both you and him were thinking about the same thing : the moment when the event will finally be over and when you could see each other again.
***
The party was amazing, it was like entering a whole new world, and you were doing your best to act as natural as possible with the other guests. Even if socializing never really was your thing, you still managed to have lots of very interesting conversations with very interesting people during the evening.
But the most important thing to you was that nothing appeared to be threatening Padme’s safety. And by the end of the night, when everyone was starting to go back to their quarters, you were among the last ones to still be here.
As you and the Nabooian crossed the main hall again to head toward the corridor leading to her room, you soon caught a glimpse of a jedi’s robe and a clone’s armor waiting for you just around the corner.
“Hello there !”, you greet them enthusiastically, “Where are the other ?”
“Rex is out there securing the main entrance of the building, and Obi Wan is watching over the senator’s quarters aisle.” Anakin replies you, “So there’s just the two of us left to escort you now, if you don’t mind !” he adds with a grin.
“Haha, no, I think that will do !”
“So, how was the party ?”
“Well, it was great, nothing strange or suspicious to report, anything happened just as it was supposed to, except that I am a bit thirsty now.” You joke, looking teasingly at Padme, who was a little tipsy from the several glasses she had, while you had to stay sober to keep your reflexes and senses fully functioning.
“Oh, it’s not that late in the night ! You could still try that champagne, there’s plenty left in the Senate’s kitchen, the Chancellor always orders too much drinks for that kind of events, and I’m pretty sure that nobody will notice if a bottle or two goes missing !” she giggles.
“Ho really ? Sounds interesting !” you mischievously commented.
“Sounds like you’re trying to encourage a jedi into stealing from the Republic, Senator.” Anakin lets out with an amused smile.
“Me ? Really ? How dare you ? You know that I’m absolutely incorruptible !” you took a falsely offended expression, giving him the most outraged look that you could possibly do.
“Well, Senator, I think it’s time for me to take you back to your room, don’t you think ?” he then declared, still chuckling from your remark, looking at her with a not so subtle meaningful look.
“Yes, I think you’re right, Ani, I’m starting to feel a bit exhausted to be honest.”
“Commander”, the jedi turns to face Cody, “I let you escort (y/n) to the Temple.”
“Yes sir !” the clone answers, trying not to let his still visible happiness show too much.
As Anakin offered his arm to Padme, he looked at you with a smirk “And please, make sure that she’s not gonna rob the senate’s kitchen on the way !”
You gasped, looking even more insulted “How dare you, again ! What a shame !” you placed your hand on your heart to emphasize your shock, as if his words had awfully hurt you.
They both laughed at your imitation, before wishing you a good night and disappearing behind one of the corridor’s walls.
You smiled as you watch them walk away. They were cute as hell together, you thought.
“So, what do you want to do now ?” a voice pulled you out of your thoughts, “I bet you don’t really want to go back to the Temple already, don’t you ?”
He was right, you weren’t tired, and you still wanted to enjoy what was left of the evening.
“You may be right …” you look at him right in the eyes, grinning, “To be honest, I’ll gladly try that Champagne, don’t you ?”
***
“That city is definitely more beautiful at night …” you sigh, before taking a mouthful from your glass, eyes lost in the field of artificial light spreading in front of you.
After sneaking into the Senate’s kitchen to borrow a bottle, you both agreed to climb to the building’s roof to savor it. It was your idea, for you knew it was the only place where nobody was going to bother you, and the view was spectacular from here.
“I’ve never liked big cities”, you go on, “I’ve always had a hard time dealing with crowds … It’s kind of impressive, right ? Being in the middle of so many people, it’s nearly frightening … I get overwhelmed pretty quickly when I’m surrounded by so many moving bodies …”
“But you appear to be one of the best generals of the GAR at the same time, how surprising … You have to deal with thousands of men on stressful situations, and you’re doing absolutely great, who could imagine that crowds could make you so anxious ?” Cody jokes, looking at you with a playful smirk on his lips.
“Are you making fun of me, Marshal Commander ?” you reply, raising an eyebrow at him, trying to sound as serious as you could.
“Me ? I could never !”
“You di’kut …” you spit, bringing your glass to your lips and turning your attention to the city again.
He started to laugh at your harsh word. He knew it was affectionate.
He took a sip too, eyes still locked on your face. You looked beautiful as ever, just as he expected. He had always found you beautiful, even in a full set of armor, with exhausted features and blood and mud on your face after a battle, even in your large and not suggestive jedi robes, you were always beautiful to him. Whatever situation you appear to be in, you were always the most mesmerizing being he had ever seen.
The alcohol had started to strike at you and you were both feeling dizzy by now. You liked that sensation, it was blissful, and the context made it even more pleasing. It was just the two of you, finally sharing some time alone together with a bottle of one of the best champagnes in the galaxy. What could possibly go wrong ?
A blush passed on his cheeks as he thought about how all of this could end if he was courageous enough to make the first move. But he quickly shook his head, pushing the idea away. He may have been brave enough to lead an army, but that kind of things was beyond his abilities. Plus, the possibility that his feelings could not be mutuals was scaring him.
“You okay ?” you ask after noticing his flinch.
“Yes !”, he answers with all the composure he could gather, “Of course I am, I couldn’t have whish for a more perfect way to end that night !”
You looked at him with a sympathetic smile on your face. He sounded nervous, and you noticed that something seemed off with him since you were on that roof, but you put the blame on the alcohol and his tiredness.
“Well, you’re right, and the best thing about it is that the night is far from being over.” You whisper, making him blush even more.
A silence fell upon you as you both stared at the wall of buildings in front of you. The night wasn’t usually that dark due to the various street and traffic lights, but the Senate’s roof was high enough to be above the light pollution that was blurring the sky. It was bright enough so you could see each other, but still very dimmed, creating an intimate atmosphere around you.
As you were both pouring yourselves another glass, while cheerfully relating to each other your silliest and funniest mission’s stories, Cody couldn’t stop to think about what you had just said right before, not sure about the implied meaning of it.
Was that an invitation ? An encouragement to make his first move ? Or just a meaningless remark stating the fact that it wasn’t, indeed, that late in the night ?
When another silence grew between you, his heart started to race in his chest. He couldn’t take it anymore, and with a little help from the disinhibition caused by the alcohol, a sudden rush of courage hit him. “Kriff it” he thought, for it probably was his only opportunity to try something without being disturbed by anyone else.
Ignoring his apprehensiveness, he slowly stretched his arm toward your hand, that was settled on the floor and on which you were leaned on, your other hand being busy with your glass. He did his best to stay furtive, only throwing little side glances your way without turning his head. And even though you felt that something was about to happen, you kept your eyes locked on the horizon, your own heart slowly starting to beat faster in anticipation.
He hesitated for a second, trying to keep his ragged breathing and trembling limbs as steady as possible, before finally crossing the remaining gap. It was only a slight brush at first at the tip of one of your fingers, and it was still possible to go back, still possible to pretext a clumsy movement if you ever came to ask him about it.
You had fully noticed the contact, but you couldn’t move, completely frozen on spot, waiting for what could happen next, desperately hoping for it to not be a bad move.
Another brush met your skin, but this time, his fingers stayed on yours. Now he knew he couldn’t turn back anymore, and with a strike of confidence, he started to gently caress the back of your hand.
Your eyes were still lost on the city, but they couldn’t see anything anymore, for you were deeply focused on the sensation, overwhelmed by the feeling of his touch.
Still without saying a word, he slowly took your hand in his, squeezing it softly. You carefully squeeze it back and time seemed to instantly stop. Nothing else but the warmth of his hand on yours mattered to you anymore in that instant.
It took you a few moments and a deep breath to overcome your shyness and find the courage to look at him. When you met his eyes, they were glowing, and you suddenly felt like if he was staring at your very soul.
You were only a couple inches away from each other, and without a warning, he leaned toward you, closing that space to gently place his lips on yours. Your eyes widen in surprise before closing as you answered the kiss.
All you could do when your lips parted was to look at him in awe, stunned and a bit lost, not really sure if what had just happened was real. You both stayed quiet for a while, unable to move at first, awkwardness and embarrassment plastered on his blushing face as he was suddenly realizing what he had just done.
Without taking your eyes off of him and without really thinking about it, you slowly settled your glass on the ground to free your other hand and wrapped your arm around his neck, pulling him in for another kiss.
You felt a relieved sigh escaping from him as he instinctively slid his arm around your waist, pulling your body closer to his. It was more intense this time, and you both made it last longer than the first one, savoring every second of it like if you were afraid that it could never happen again.
He only broke it when he came out of breath, panting and the beating of his heart ringing through his ears. Then he rested his forehead against your, looking at you with sparks in his eyes like if he was looking at the most precious thing in the whole galaxy.
“Did I told you how beautiful you are in this dress ?” he softly whispers.
“Thank you …” you mutter, felling the heat raising to your face.
“Can I tell you a secret ?” he then nervously asks.
“Of course, you know you can tell me anything.”
“I’ve been waiting for that moment for months to be honest … But I wasn’t sure about how you’ll react, I was afraid that every little thing I’ve took as signs of affection toward me were just you being the kind and thoughtful person you are … But still, a part of me wanted to believe that maybe, just maybe, there was chance that it could be more than that, more than just friendship between us, so … I wanted to ask you, was I wrong about it ? Did I misread the signs ?”
His fear of rejection was so strong that it was palpable through the air, and it was breaking your heart.
“No, you didn’t …” you whisper, “To be fair, I was hoping for all of this to happen someday too, but I didn’t know how to make you understand it. I’ve never been very good at expressing my feelings so … I’m sorry if I failed to deliver the message correctly !” you chuckle anxiously.
“But now that I got the opportunity, I think that I need to tell it to you once and for all …”, you paused, gathering your courage, before going on with a shy and trembling voice, “ I … I love you, Cody, and I may not know how to show it properly, but I don’t want you to doubt it anymore.”
He gasps at your answer, emotion taking over him and overwhelming his tipsy brain. He couldn’t say anything, but instead, he leaned toward you and crashed his mouth against yours once more. His whole body was shaking, and his embrace was tight and warm around you.
“I love you too, mesh’la, more than anything !” He finally breathes out with watery eyes and a wide enamored smile on his beautiful face.
You stayed on the roof for one more hour at least, cuddling and kissing in the fresh night air, before he invited you to spend the rest of the night with him in his personal quarters at the GAR building.
You didn’t hesitate a second before accepting his proposition. You weren’t the only one to not sleep at the temple anyway, and you knew that nobody will notice your absence. That undercover mission had been a real challenge for you and you were both exhausted by now, but it was worth it.
You weren’t expecting the event to turn out that way, but after all, he was right, that night couldn’t have ended better than that.

The Clone Wars 2x12 ‘The Mandalore Plot’ Reaction
Tumblr media
I love Satine. She is AMAZING. She is so fierce, takes absolutely no nonsense, stands up for what she believes in, is exceptionally competent and skilled in her areas of speciality (diplomacy etc), calls out Obi-Wan on his philosophical jedi bullshit and saves his life as well. And the sass. The Sass. It is off the charts. They spend the entire time flirting under the pretence of verbal jousting, sassing back and forth at each other. I love it. I love them. I spent so much of this episode just CACKLING.
Satine and Obi-Wan are perfect together. They compliment each other so well. They’re one of those couples that are just meant for each other. They’re soul mates (if this was a Soul Mates AU). Yes I know what happens shhh just let me enjoy this
I know I go on about Space Husband Cody all the time but Obi-Wan and Satine are just so good together. Obi-Wan can have a Space Royalty Wife and a Space Warrior Husband, as a treat. Or they could all just get together as a throuple. Actually, Satine, Cody and Obi-Wan as a throuple sounds most excellent. Ultimate power throuple right there.
Anyway, onwards to the live-blogging style portion of this reaction post.
-
Ahahahaha Obi-Wan is pure sass already
Oooh that’s a pretty building. Not particularly tactically secure though seeing as its walls and ceiling are made of glass. Though that makes sense as a pacifist statement I suppose.
Jango Fett was a common bounty hunter? Excuse?!
Tumblr media
“Well, Master Kenobi, my shining jedi knight, to the rescue once again.” OMGILOVEHERALREADY
What were those strange shimmering noises?
Tumblr media
“After all these years you’re even more beautiful than ever.” Obi-Wan you are NOT subtle
“Kind words from a man who accuses me of treachery.” CACKLING
“No Mandalorian would engage in such violence.” That sounds exceptionally counterintuitive, even if this is a long time before The Mandalorian series.
Tumblr media
Did she just ask him out on a date after a verbal joust?!
Those strange shimmering noises appeared again. Also, the ominous music is about as unsubtle as Obi-Wan’s flirting. I think, just maybe, that they might be trying to tell us that *gasp* something sinister is going on here!
There seems to be quite a few lingering shots on the Prime Minister. Does he do something nefarious later down the line?
Naw they’re on a date!
The little pauses in “It’s so good to see you again Obi-Wan” aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Death Watch. That’s a subtle name.
“Small group of hooligans.” Well that’s going to come back and bite you now isn’t.
“Most distasteful.” Dooku doing the absolute most to chew all of the scenery on this holocall.
First philosophy lesson of the episode. Satine has a damn good point and she’s not letting Obi-Wan get away with any noble jedi bullshit.
Naw he was so worried about her.
Obi-Wan just deciding what to do for Satine’s safety. I get that it’s probably a good idea but also side eyeing.
Ok that was not something I’d ever expect them to show in a “kids tv show”, that was rough and intense.
Is this the first time we hear the Mando’a language spoken?
There’s a lot of religious iconography going on in this episode. The building that Obi-Wan meets the Prime Minister and Duchess Satine in, which looks like a church interior. That hand reaching towards the light.
You two are great and all but why are you sassing each other over the very recently dead dude who is right there?!
“That’s why I’m still talking to you.” SAVAGE
Ahahahahaha Obi-Wan’s little impressed expression CACKLING
Mining is bad kids
Oooh, a Vizla. Is this Paz’s dad?
“Please try not to cause problems where none yet exist” THE SASS
Omg I love these two. They’re perfect.
That pause before Satine said “meditate” XD
Obi-Wan that snooping around is about as subtle as your flirting
I’m loving the music in this episode. It’s been consistently excellent throughout TCW but this episode especially it is really heightening and adding to everything.
Tumblr media
This entire scene of Satine trying to subtly communicate with Obi-Wan without alerting Vizla is peak ridiculous campy TCW comedy
“I’m in a bit of an awkward spot” Obi-Wan does like using that phrase when the situation is much worse than he’s letting on. He did the same thing in 2x9 ‘Grievous Intrigue’ when he asked Anakin to pick them up from a ship that was in the middle of exploding in space.
Why did one of the Mandalorians have an OTT south London gangster accent?
What are those? Random demonstration space pumpkins to emphasise the squishing Obi-Wan is about to receive?
“This is not good.” ya don’t say
Tumblr media
Ahahahaha at the line about the loud metallic clanging sound and the machine about to smash him into bits.
I am CACKLING at their sassing of each other. Obi-Wan is metres away from being pureed and they’re still bantering.
This is definitely me reading far too much into things but that look of relief on Obi-Wan’s face looked suspiciously like an orgasm face. Apt seeing as this is the episode where he reconnects with his old flame.
“Unseemly pleasure” hmmm indeed.
That’s where you’re supposed to kiss dammit.
Again with the random south London gangster accent for the Mandalorian “hooligans”?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“We’ll have to stand and fight. Or in your case, just stand.” OBI-WAN YOU DID NOT
Tumblr media
For such an apparently uncivilised weapon, Obi-Wan seems suspiciously good at shooting blasters.
The rock! Satine!
Lol the Death Watch leader just flicked his little cape away from in front of his arm and then the next shot we see of him it’s right back where it was.
Guv’na? Why the random bri’ish accents?
Lol of course Vizla was the baddie and leader of Death Watch.
Tumblr media
Nyoom! Wiz! Zing! Random sci-fi noises!
Obi-Wan why are you dodging missiles with dance moves?! What is this ridiculousness? Also, CACKLING
Satine! There are missiles coming, time to go!
Lol of course he fell on top of her but in this case I don’t care and I will take that trope and run with it!
“Mine was the more daring of the two rescues.” SNORTS
Lol at Rex, Cody, Anakin and the clones just randomly turning up at the end of the episode.

RexObi Week Part 3/7 - First / Previous / Next
Day 3: Amusement Park Track: 'Friday I'm In Love' - The Cure (Spotify / YouTube)
"The more of these games I see the more I'm surprised there isn't people fighting everywhere."
"Well, I do believe people are not here mainly to win cheap stuffed animals. There are many other things to enjoy."
"Is that why you keep using the Force on the clearly rigged games?"
Obi-Wan raised his nose slightly, carefully tucking his hands behind his back after one last flick of his wrist at a rubber duck with a tiny loop on the top. The squeal of joy from the young child holding a much too flimsy hook nearly drowned out his prim response. "My dear, are you suggesting I would cheat?"
"Well," Rex grinned crookedly. "Never for yourself, but yes."
Obi-Wan made an affronted noise, though the mirth in his eyes couldn't fool anyone in the galaxy, as he slid an arm through Rex's and began walking a bit further. They were in absolutely no rush, the sun beginning to set and stars already blinking above them. It meant that dozens if not hundreds of lights were flicking to life, bright and vibrant in a way that almost reminded Obi-Wan of Force signatures when he was younger. Unfocused, youthful, undetermined futures; a swirl from hot to cold and so much life it was near overwhelming to open yourself to. In fact, Obi-Wan wasn't fully sure how to really feel about this date suggestion, mostly going through with it for the adrenaline of the rides and the sweets he thought Rex would enjoy trying, but leaning into Rex's side and watching that little one proudly accept the stuffed bantha from a perplexed looking worker was quite worth it.
He also found he minded the heat and overall stickiness of things even less when, five minutes later, Rex was crouched behind a water gun with a look of utter clone stubbornness and efficiency, and Obi-Wan was trying not to literally cheer as the clone won his second round in a row. It was all Rex here, beating the neigh impossible game and gathering a few further youngsters around him that wished to watch as he nailed the target perfectly.
"That's insane!" a child to Obi-Wan's right whispered to their friend, who only nodded wide eyed back. "I have never seen anyone win even the first round of this!"
"Do you think he is a bounty hunter?" another murmured.
"Maybe he's a Jedi!"
This last one was said much louder, and met with a small outbreak of whispering that Obi-Wan couldn't help but laugh at, much to the upset of the child that said it.
"He could be!" They defended, small yellow cheek markings rising with his scrunched nose, and the face paint of a rainbow crinkling.
"Well, I can assure you he isn't, young one." Obi-Wan gave a soft smile, as more curious children looked to him.
"Why should we believe you?" the first one asked, their friend still clinging to their side and watching Rex. "How else could he be so good?"
"Because he is one of the best," Obi-Wan answered simply, without specify who exactly Rex was the best of, seeing as Obi-Wan believed it was just about anyone anyhow. "As for how I know he isn't a Jedi..."
Rex then won the fifth round, maxing out the prize and earning the stuffed animal that had caught their eye to begin with as the perfect gift for Cody when they returned home. Though before the stunned worker had the chance to fully process he needed to unhook the creature and deliver it, Obi-Wan had raised a hand for the children to easily see and twisted it up and towards Rex to use the Force to toss the waiting clone his prize.
"It is because he told me himself he isn't." Obi-Wan finished firmly. And before the kids could close their mouths or Rex had finished rolling his eyes, Obi-Wan was once again next to his partner and linking them together to stride away into the crowd.
"Showing off again sir?" Rex asked, handing the plush animal, a varactyl in a strikingly familiar pattern, to Obi-Wan.
"Me? Showing off?" Obi-Wan curled an arm under the plush. "I was merely correcting assumptions."
"The assumptions of a child?" At this Rex had slid behind Obi-Wan more properly, giving an accusing squeeze of strong, lean arms.
"The assumption that you are a Jedi," Obi-Wan turned his head to smile more properly at Rex behind him. "First, I have heard you plenty of times state otherwise, which, in a way you are fully aware of, I am more then grateful for. And second, I know that nothing of the skill you just showed has to do with being born Force sensitive. That was all my lovely, talented, handsome rún."
And though Obi-Wan knew Rex still didn't know the exact meaning of the word he used, he had said it enough to bring color to the clones cheeks even as he shook his head. the he had declared it over in a dozen different circumstances of praise to Rex to make it clear. Knew he had put enough truth in his smile and joy in his eyes to make the adoration obvious, even past how Rex pulled Obi-Wan back into himself more firmly, with a quip already clearly set to make Obi-Wan blush much worse.
So, when Obi-Wan cut Rex off to press a kiss to his lips that gave a much more obvious hint at exactly how much Obi-Wan appreciated watching Rex win the stuffed plush, he was met with more love then Obi-Wan had ever dared want for, and would be grateful every day to have.

Fantasy Fic Recs
I’m back with more fic recs. I know I’ve done a rec list for fantasy fics before, but just like the Sith Obi-Wan fic recs, I wanted to do more because it’s been a hot minute!
Ships will vary! I’ll be sure to let you know what fics have what ships though, so don’t worry!
Also, these recs don’t contain like...modern fantasy recs, but I’ll probably do another list for those tbh, probably one for like...in-world fantasy...if that’s what I should call it....
CODYWAN
A Single Sunbeam - @lillytalons The first time Obi-wan met Cody, he hadn’t even gotten his name. It wasn’t a friendly meeting at all, which was a shame. The second time Cody met Obi-wan, he wanted to punch him, just a little. Wandering scholar of the Je’daii order, Obi-Wan travels the lands with his companion & friendly dragon, Boga. There's a darkness growing in Mandalore and a people with no trust for outsiders that Obi-wan wants to help but first he has to convince Cody to trust him. Or: 11 times Obi-wan and Cody meet, with varying degrees of success.
light as whispers - @bluemaskedkarma  The west isn’t safe, not since King Qymaen took the throne. There are awful rumors flying around, especially once Count Dooku joins the King's court. The west isn't safe, not for a lot of people, especially not dragons.
It’s an end to the evil (of all Skyrim’s foes) - @nerjetii Kote wants to reach Skyrim to become a legendary blacksmith under the tutelage of Eorlund Gray-Mane. Obi-Wan wants to reach Skyrim to study at Winterhold Academy to become a great mage. Neither one of them is really looking for adventure. Adventure, however, will find them when Kote learns he is the Dragonborn, Nord Hero destined to defeat the Black Dragon Alduin, a burden he never wanted in the first place and that he reluctantly accept. And Obi-Wan...well, what's Khajiit to do when the nice Redguard seems so lost yet determined to do good in his unexpected quest? Why, of course, Khajiit will go with him!
The World Offers Itself - @brigittttoo  Cody and Obi-Wan embark on their journey to find the boy who will defeat the darkness, as foretold by the Jedi many centuries ago. On their way, they encounter fantastical nature, magic and monsters, and secrets surrounding the history of the Empire; sometimes, even a crafted fate cannot always go as planned.
send you a postcard from heaven - @blackkatmagic  “Is this the part,” Obi-Wan drawls, balanced on the very edge of the plank, “where I say I would rather die?”
Bookworms, Warriors and Princes (Series) - @wanderingjedihistorian  Every time he had to sit through another one of these boring events, Cody gave serious consideration to abdicating his position as Crown Prince of Mandalore and running away to be a bounty hunter. His father would never forgive him, nor would any of his brothers, but it was so tempting.Cody slipped through a door and was pleasantly surprised to find that it led to a library. (summary from the first fic in the series)
Peace in the Realm - Rosawyn When young Lord Anakin's elopement threatens the fragile peace of the entire kingdom, Lord Obi Wan and Prince Codex must find a way to prevent his impulsive decision from toppling everything into chaos.  With threats of war looming on their borders and petty nobles squabbling in Obi Wan's own duchy, things are feeling a lot less stable.  And that's all before the assassination.
JANGOBI (KENFETTI)
The Otherlands - @feybarn Jango glared up at the man who was staring down at him, brows furrowed and lips pursed in what looked like disbelief. “You’re Jango Fett?” The man sounded a mix of offended and disbelieving. Jango raised his eyebrow as derisively and dissuasively as he could. “Last I checked.” The man looked around their surroundings, as though trying to reconcile the putrid-smelling prison cell with Jango’s reputation. The man pursed his lips. “I’d like to hire you.” -_- Obi-Wan needs a guide to the Demon's Lair - Jango Fett just happens to be his best chance of getting there.
ALPHAOBI (ALPHA-17/OBI-WAN)
The Lone Wolf Dies (Series) - @mageofcole  Obi-Wan had never been able to turn away from something in trouble. There’s an injured animal in the forest, he can hear the sounds from the dense underbrush of the woods that surround his home, and it's accompanied by the sound of hunting dogs. (summary from first fic in series)
GEN
ashes to ashes, dust to dust - @crablad Obi-Wan surveyed the pub, taking in the various creatures spread out. Looking for a dragon, as rare as they were, was impossible, especially with the nagas roaming around. He couldn’t catch a sight of those leathery wings, and if he did they were usually harpies with their sharp teeth and red hair. He thought he caught sight of something other than a harpy, with scales along the neck, but the shaded glasses, and squirming hat revealed the creature as a gorgon. He sighed, sinking further into the seat. His wings recoiled from the dusty ground, shaking themselves to clean. It ended up just leaving them covered in more grime, something he would have to deal with later. The scales were more important now, he needed to find a dragon… or someone who knew one. His informant was supposed to meet him an hour ago.

A rough breakdown of the SW playing cards series I’m planning which will DEFINITELY take me years but 100% worth it, to be revised later because organisation is non-existent (I feel like I’ve forgotten people so feel free to suggest):

Idk where else to put her - or I might contrast him with Cobb because angst but he doesn’t really go with the Empire. Oh well I’ll figure it out 3: Hondo/…someone?? No idea who but I want him on there

Are there any fic ideas that you'd want to see but don't want to write?
Oh boy! Of course!
To be honest, the Green Lantern story is one of the big ones lmfao. It would be a massive undertaking for an audience of maybe five people. A niche audience normally doesn't stop me, but for such a long story, there's other uses of my time. There is also the fact that it just feels made for television. Same with my Legion of Superheroes Zoobomafoo thing - it just doesn't feel right in a text format. It's webcomic coded. I wish I could draw sometimes!
Then there's the story ideas for my AUs and other fandoms I've moved on from. There's still a few ideas for the No Chip AU in my back pocket (Cody redemption feat. Boba Fett following him around Tatooine yelling at him; Fox as the vigilante sidekick to his insane PA) and my normal Roleswap (Luke & Leia embark on a Great Father Mystery Hunt and bother Fox in the woods). There's also the continuation stories/sequels I've started but haven't finished and don't know if they will get finished (Roleswap Obi-Wan meets his birth family; my Buffy fic Angel and Cordelia through the years). There's other unfinished stories there (the Frenchie story which is literally only missing the final scene, the Heroes For Hire meeting story which is literally only missing the final scene) which I'm pretty sure I'll finish when I feel like it. I don't consider those WIPs so much as 'when I care again I'll go finish them'.
Then there's the stories that I just couldn't make into a decent story (the Naruto fix-it; the roleswap(ish?) story with adult bounty hunters Boba and Omega teaching runaway clones Luke and Leia the power of family and incredible violence). Not every idea is good outside of concept lol.
TL;DR: If I have a fic idea but haven't written it, it's because of one or more reasons: a) the idea itself is too big, b) the idea just doesn't seem right for fic, c) I've moved on from the fandom and don't want to work on it at this moment anymore, d) it just wouldn't make a good story.
If you notice, these are all active choices on my part. I only mention this because a lot of my friends can't relate, so I don't know how common it is even though I assumed it was common, and it's kind of hard to describe: there's no barrier between me having an idea and writing it. Does that make sense? If I have an idea and it'll make a good story and I want to write it I'll write it, at least until I realize that it wouldn't make a good story and I scrap it. If I think about something for too long I write it [this is why I am easily egged on][this is also why I write things I swore never to write very frequently].
Writing is like. It's easy. You just write stuff. You just think something and then you write it. It's uncomplicated.
If it's bad. Writing is easy if what you're writing is bad. It's easy to write 100k if the 100k is bad. There's a ton of shortcuts you can take, which are really useful for beginning writers and was really useful for me a few years ago. I can describe those if you'd like. It's much, much, much harder to write something good. It's hardest when you need something to be good. Writing a good 100k is really hard. I am constantly telling people not to jump into the novels kjlsdf.
Double TL;DR that has nothing to do with the topic: You can write whatever you want if you're okay with it being bad. Making bad art rocks and is a lot of fun and completely necessary towards my emotional well-being. I highly recommend it.

Random thoughts during Attack of the Clones:
*The second scene with all the Jedi in the Chancellors’ office is like a Clone Wars who’s who. Poor Barriss in the back of the room…brooding, being all angsty and gay. Her character was done hella dirty, but I have a theory on that which I may share later.
* Anakin’s attempts at flirting with women are painful. Ouch. Too bad this predates Ahsoka who could have absolutely given him pointers.
* I feel like Padme is disproportionately targeted by assassination attempts. I get she’s kind of outspoken, but holy f*^%, bounty hunters are trying to take her ass out constantly.
*I find it it creepy that Anakin was watching Padme sleep (or whatever). I would have covered the cameras if I were her as well.
* It’s pretty great that Obi-Wan catches Anakin’s lightsaber that Anakin dropped during a high-speed pursuit. Hella reflexes.
*”This weapon is your life.” -Obi-Wan when handing Anakin’s lightsaber back to him. This is a reoccurring theme, I feel. Fun Clone Wars fact: We see Jedi passing their weapons over to someone else twice in The Clone Wars series willingly: Once by Anakin who gives it to Padme. Once by Ahsoka who gives it to Barriss. Hmm.
* “Why do I get the feeling you’re going to be the death of me?”- Obi-Wan. Yikes with the foreboding.
*I appreciate the original Xbox graphics going on with that droid football game playing in the cantina. It really brings back some great memories of a time when playing games was so blocky and 32-bit.
* I like Dex. I bet the food in his diner is fire, but I bet the caf is awful. I’m also impressed that he knows about Kamino when no one else seems to at this point in the story.
* Attachments and possession is forbidden, but compassion is encouraged. I feel like attachment sort of comes with romance. Something about that chemical reaction in your brain that’s triggered… With that being said, Anakin interacting with Padmé is so, so awkward.
* “The day we stop believing democracy can work is the day we lose it.” - Queen Jamillia dropping gems of wisdom.
* Was this written by Incels? I mean, I’m really not clear how the “I don’t like sand” line somehow convinces Padmé to kiss Anakin for the first time, but maybe I need to start coming up with really, REALLY hokey lines to get girls to kiss me. I’ll let you know how it works out in the real world.
*RED FLAG ON THE FIELD. Anakin declares that he is a pro-dictatorial authoritarian fascist. She laughs it off like “he’s kidding”, and like, he legit says “I’d be much too frightened to tease a senator.” Baby girl. He’s problematic. You’re getting a sign that clearly is telling you to turn around, but you’re ignoring the signals.
*Fun Star Wars fact, those chunky tick-looking CGI animals that nearly trample Anakin in that awkward flirty scene are called Shaak (not to be confused with Shaak Ti, who is a hot, Togruta Jedi), and apparently, they’re tasty.
* Padmé seems to be very impressed by Anakin’s ability to float fruit around with the force. I can’t say I wouldn’t be turned on by someone just randomly wielding the force to impress me. Maybe.
* The scene between Anakin and Padmé where they’re discussing the kiss is a clear sign that he’s not going to be capable of letting go. The dark shadow cast across his face in this scene is kind of another foreboding moment too.
* Clones! Rex, Cody and Jesse are all down there some place preparing to go to war as Obi-Wan looks on.
* Slave One is a badass ship. That is all.
*I can’t help but wonder about Lars freeing, then marrying Shmi Skywalker. Did he do it out of the goodness of his heart? Was it a mutual thing? Or was Shmi originally purchased as his sex slave, and was she suffering from Stockholm syndrome? Why is my brain like this!?!
*Speaking of, Shmi’s death is tragic. Enter Vader.
*RED FLAG! RED FLAG!!! Holy blazes, Padme. Anakin just confessed to committing literal genocide by slaughtering an entire village of sand people. I’m pretty sure my instinct would be to roll out. That would be my cue. I mean, damn.
Anakin: I killed them. I killed them all. And not just the men, but the women and the children too. They’re like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals! I hate them!
Me: Well, would you look at the time!? Gotta go!
Not Padmé. No. She tries to reason with it. It’s human to be angry. No, not like THAT! My god, man!! Jedi have to keep that shit in check as they can literally crush people with the force. FFS. You’re in danger, girl. RUN!
*The Geonosians creep me out. Seriously. Bugs, but with brains that are capable of producing weapons of mass destruction. There is also their ceremonious way of executing prisoners (Ancient Roman style) Not to worry, I guess. This method won’t work with Jedi. They’re like force-wielding gladiators on speed. Their deadly animals will be beast-tricked and killed.
* Shaak Ti! I am such a sucker for a Togruta. Here’s my number, holo me.
* Mace Windu’s lightsaber wielding style really is bad ass. The way that he just effortlessly beheads Jango Fett is something else.
* Every time I see Kit Fisto, I’m reminded of how he started off as a tadpole.. and it makes me chuckle. Also, his grin is fantastic.
* The C3-PO puns during this battle. Classic. Peak droid in a Star Wars film.
* I can’t help but wonder what happened to Jango’s head when Boba lifts his helmet and puts it against his forehead? I didn’t want it to plop out, but it probably should have. Is it still wedged into the helmet? Is poor Boba going to have to fish it out later (because we know he keeps it)?
*Folks always getting their arms chopped off.
*The Dooku/ Yoda lightsaber battle is epic, and may be slightly underrated.
* Begun the Clone War has. Poor Bail is like, “Damn.” And, we end with Padme ignoring all the red flags. The galaxy will pay for your discretions. Roll credits.

It started one evening in the barracks on Kamino. A mission had gone pretty badly, and half the troops sent out didn’t make it back.
Rex entered his barracks with a solemn look on his face. This wasn’t new, but it still hurt just as much as the first time.
When he looked up, he noticed one of the troops in the farm back rubbing harshly at his face. A few others were around him, trying to console him, but they all stopped once Rex approached. The crying soldier sniffed and tried to stand up, Rex stopped him with a gentle hand on his soldier.
“It’s okay to cry, no use in bottling everything up.”
The words caught everyone off guard. Clones rarely cried, and when they did everyone usually just offered some consolation and moved on, but they never actually addressed the tears.
“No, I’m alright Sir.”
“No, you're not.”
For words that weren’t his own, they came so easily. The voice had drilled it into his head with a smile, him and hundreds of others.
The first gen remembered it well. Gentle hands still adjusted their bodies when they shot, a soft voice still reminded them to eat and drink and watch their backs.
He doesn’t talk about the voice, but he knows other first gens hear it too. The songs they hum idly, and the words that feel strange coming from their mouths. Like someone else spoke them and they were just repeating it.
---
It felt weird, packing up Kamino to move out.
With the war over, the republic gave all of the clones an honorable discharge. Not that the kaminoans were happy about that, but they came around oddly fast. They’d called a meeting, and when they’d returned they’d begrudgingly agreed to let the clones retire.
A clattering pulled him from his thoughts, a holo disk had fallen from between some boxes. Picking it up, he checked the names on the box it'd fallen off. Fives.
Setting the box down, he turned the disk on.
“Alright, I think- yes, that should work. Once you change the order, you’ll have to upload the new orders into the chips. They’re connected through the server so-” The woman in the recording continued on, walking whoever watched, through the steps to deactivate some order in a chip.
There were too many thoughts rushing through his head. It’s her. The voice, the smile, it’s her. Was this what Fives tried to warn him about? Did he find this?
“Rex?”
Rex jumped, slamming down on the holo disk causing it to bounce up and spin out onto the floor.
“Cody! What are you doing here?”
Cody closed the door behind him and picked up the disk.
“You were taking forever, Jesse and Kix were getting worried, you okay?”
“Ya, I’m-I’m good. Help me with these boxes?”
Cody came up behind him and set the disk onto Fives’ box before picking it up.
“You don’t look fine.”
Rex picked up another box and the two took them into the hall, loading a cart to take them to a new planet. Their new home.
“Do you ever hear a voice? In the back of your head I mean.”
“You mean my consciousness?” He huffed with a smile.
“No, like- like you're remembering something?”
Rex grabbed the handle of the cart and began pulling it down the hall.
Kamino was mostly empty of clones, just a few stragglers who were dismissed later and still needed to pack what few personal belongings they had. Rex had been dismissed two weeks ago and had taken it upon himself to pack the personal belongings of all their fallen brothers and empty out the store room.
“Sometimes. Why?”
“Do you know who she is?”
“I always assumed she was a bounty hunter, like the ones that head the training, or maybe a jedi like Shaak Ti. Does it matter?”
“No, I guess not,” he paused as they approached the hanger. “Did you see my report, after Fives…”
“Ya, but Fives was sick, he’d been exposed to something that caused his chip to malfunction. I hate to say it, but I wouldn’t really worry too much about anything he said.” Cody opened the hanger door.
Jesse and Kix waved at them from the ramp of the Marauder where they were talking to Echo.
“What if he wasn’t sick? And the chip really did do something to Tup, I mean, why would he attack a jedi instead of the clones right beside him?”
“Rex, you’re overthinking it. It’s over, it doesn’t matter anymore,” Cody pushed.
As they approached the Marauder, Hunter came out and waved Echo back in. They’d come back to pick up some supplies for the clone settlement and were finally ready to leave.
Rex and Cody waved Echo goodbye before heading over to a gun ship and offloading the last batch of boxes.
“What if I could prove Fives was right?” He said out of the blue, back turned to Cody as he secured a stack of boxes.
“Then you should take it to the generals, but insinuating that they put chips in our head to make us more violent is a bold move, you’d best be ready to hold your ground.”
“Are you talking about the inhibitor chips?”
Both brothers turned to the gunship door to find Omega sitting in the cart. She waved.
“Inhibitor chips?”
“Ya, you know, the ones that limit your aggression. It was also supposed to stop you from being controlled by sith and rogue jedi, at least that’s what Nala Se said,” she whispered the last part, and the two troopers leaned in closer as she continued in a whisper, “Though yours were changed by CT-5555, he removed order 66 from the chips, whatever that is.” She shrugged and sat back up properly.
“What do you mean he removed an order?” Cody asked.
“I dunno, but before he died he accessed the server that connects all the chips and sends out orders like that. I heard Nala Se and Lama Su talking about it, but they couldn’t figure out what order 66 did so they didn’t report it.”
“Isn’t that dangerou-”
“OMEGA!” Hunter yelled from across the hanger. “We left already!”
She turned to look at him and laughed awkwardly.
“Oops.” She hopped out of the cart and started off towards the Marauder. “Well, I hope you figure out what happened,” she waved, “if you need any help-”
“Omega!”
"Coming!"
