my notifs recently got me thinking about the very random concept of "what if there is a second, secret CHB. directly below normal CHB." and i ended up brainstorming it in the discord.
context for how this originated: one was just a random notif on my post talking about the tunnels under the Hephaestus cabin, and the other was some tags from @drksanctuary on my fake readriordan article mentioning the idea of a chthonic demigod camp.
so. my brilliant (read: "smashing my 2 brain cells together") idea: the elaborate and seemingly infinite tunnels under cabin 9 are remnants of an abandoned underground CHB that exists directly underneath camp. It's basically just normal CHB except in a big cave system, probably connected to the labyrinth somewhere and has the separate tunnels, and instead of the Olympian cabins it has chthonic cabins. there's probably also some infernal nymphs and etc down there too. since all chthonic demigods can learn to shadow-travel they probably used that to get down there, and a lot of chthonic demigods probably have geokinesis just by nature, ergo the tunnels (for when they don't want to shadow-travel, or can't).
in brainstorming with the discord we decided it could be cool if some of the cabins lined up with the above-ground cabins, either for thematic purposes or associations or whatever. Like there's maybe a Hermes and maybe Poseidon cabin in the chthonic CHB too that just link to the above-ground ones, but also like Persephone cabin lines up to Demeter cabin because of course it does. and maybe Hecate cabin lines up to Cabin 8 cause Artemis is sometimes 1/3rd of Hecate. Maybe Angelos cabin is beneath Cabin 1, and Zagreus cabin is beneath Cabin 12. Things like that.
The other ones i thought of were either Hypnos or Thanatos cabin lines up with Apollo, because twins, and the other is just right beside it (because twins). And Charon's cabin is beneath Cabin 9, ergo why the tunnel system connects to it (because Charon. Ferryman. Surface access. It makes sense in my brain).

just bought three new BOOKS because i had 10 quid worth of credit from my loyalty card and also a gift card i got for christmas...there is nothing quite like it!!

The American is getting taken out of me. I've had to switch my weather app to Celsius because i couldn't remember what the freezing temp was for Fahrenheit (it's 32 btw and i hate that) but i remembered freezing temp for Celsius is 0 so I switched to Celsius just so i could easily tell if it was below freezing or not (It is.)

#arknights#goldic's operations#Fungimist is the mode that helped me see that I DESPERATELY needed snipers and casters#and is also the mode that made me want to build Deepcolor and Mint (alongside other operators of course)#I've since achieved all of that and more- I'm so excited to test my new strength in the RNG dungeons of death#IS stands for Integrated Strategies for you people that don't play Arknights#it's a roguelike game mode that lets you tackle random stages with random operators you 'recruit' in it#you start with three operators from various recruitment tickets and 6 Hope to hire them with#Hope is what gets you your operators for the most part- how much an operator costs depends on their star count#3☆s and below cost 0 to recruit; 4☆s cost 2; 5☆s cost 4; and 6☆s cost 6#you also get access to special operators exclusive to this game mode! many of them cost 0 as well but not all of them#it's a game mode that encourages you to try out operators you haven't tried yet to see what you can do with them!#it's super fun! everyone should play it AT LEAST once; it's a fan favorite game mode for a reason yunno!#best part is: it costs 0 sanity to play AND you still get rewards when you die! it's a win/win/win!#as someone who loves experimenting with things like this: IS is an absolute dream of a game mode#I can use all those operators I built and haven't used! it's so good!#anyway I may or may not be streaming it later heheheheh#goldic rambles#why yes I AM so excited I can't sleep that's why I typed all this out

huh! ngl i didnt expect this. i thought people would prefer team options at the slight expense of the plot, of which i can patch it pretty easily but regardless won't work as well as the intended team

Wondering what boop count your 3 letter word corresponds to? I gotchu:
Using a python script I wrote, I booped myself 50,000 times, saving an image of my boop-o-meter every 500 boops. Before we get into the results, there are two important limitations to this study that I should mention:
Firstly, because I only recorded the boop-o-meter every 500 boops, if a message appeared for less than 500 boops it may not have been caught.
Secondly, every now and then my computer would lose a boop or two when a click wouldn't register. This is seen in the 500 and 1000 boop images below, which in reality read 498 and 994 respectively. Because of this, boop values are slightly lower than they appear.
With that out of the way, lets dig in.
0-999:
From boops 0-999, the boop-o-meter displays your boop count, and changes color as you boop
Boop count: 0 Boop count: 500 Boop count: 1000
Boop fact: the colors do not change after 1000
LOL:
Between boops 1000 and 1500, the boop-o-meter changed to display 'LOL'. This likely took place at 1000 boops, but maybe it said 'MAX' or sumn for awhile at first? Idk this is already the misinformation website so not my problem.
Boop count: 1500 (actually more like 1490 ish)

OMG:
Between 1500 and 2000, the boop-o-meter changed to display 'OMG'. Again, this probably happened at 1500 but who knows. Maybe staff made it 1523 for the bit or something.
Boop count: ~2000
WOW:
The boop-o-meter remained at omg until the 3500 boop readpoint, when it switched to 'WOW', meaning this transition happens somewhere between ~2980 and ~3480.
Boop count: ~3500
Boop fact: 'WOW' is the second longest reigning message
*-*:
Between 5000 and 5500 the boop-o-meter switched to '*-*'. You get the idea at this point so I'll speed it up.
Boop count: ~5500
WHY:
The boop-o-meter changed to 'WHY' between 6000 and 6500 boops. For science. That's why.

PLZ:
Next was 'PLZ', switching between 7000 and 7500.

AAA:
I'm not sure what bloody urine has to do with anything, but for some reason staff felt is was important to display, switching between 7500 and 8000.

I realized after I set my pyautogui script running that my computer wouldn't turn off its screen because of the clicking, so there was a strobing blue light in my room all night. This encapsulated my expression while trying to sleep (8500-9000).

After 9000 it displayed 'MAX'. This was cap. (9000-9500 switch).

THE HOLY GRAIL. The boop-o-meter switched to displaying 'TUM BLR' between 10,000 and 10,500 boops. Because my actual boop count was slightly behind my theoretical, I'd guess that this change happened at 10,000 boops.
Boop count: ~10,500 (likely switched at 10,000)
Summary:
When charted the boop curve looks as follows:
Boop curve: 0 - 10,000 boops
My script continued to run until 53,000 boops, but no further changes were observed. Again, there were quite possibly more messages at lower boop values, but my ass is not checking.
