I was wondering, if it appeals to you, could we possibly get a Law reunion with reader on Zou? ✨
But when they’re reunited it’s alone/away from the rest of the crew (for fluffiness reasons hehe). Definitely still canon that Law went to Dressrosa alone so maaaybe a little bit of reader angst at that (not being allowed to go with him etc) which then leads to confessed feelings/fluff when they are reunited idk I’m sure it’ll be amazing however you interpret it! I‘m a sucker for a separated/reunited trope urgh 😭✨

There's still no sign of them.
Perched as close to the edge as you dare to go, you peer at the sheer drop below, the mist that clings to Zunesha's legs like a second skin and makes true visibility nigh impossible.
"Come on," you mumble to yourself, willing there to be a sign of movement, a faint whisper of voices on the wind ㅡ and sigh when you hear nothing but the distant roar of ocean. "Where are you guys?"
The part of you that's rooted in logic knows that you're being impatient, that you need to have more faith in Law's abilities, as well as Luffy and the others ㅡ but the bigger part of you is a mixture of anger and worry the longer you go without a sign of them.
"Let me go with you to Dressrosa. I can help!" Eyes narrowed, you glare at Law who stares back impassively.
"No. Someone needs to go ahead with the crew to Zhou."
Your teeth clench, biting back the steady rise of frustration. "Why? The crew is perfectly capable of making it themselves, you know that. They're not idiots."
Law's eyes flash, flicker of genuine anger to clash with yours. "Why are you being so difficult about this?"
"Because you're being an idiot," you hiss, "going to Dressrosa alone is suicide, Law."
"I'm not going alone. Strawhatㅡ"
"If they're going, then why can't I?"
"Because I said no, damn it!" Law snaps, voice sharp. "You're going to Zhou, [Name]. End of discussion."
Hurt and fury war quietly in the way you look at him. "Fine."
The memory of it still leaves a sour taste in your mouth, even more for the fact that it'd been the last time you'd spoken to him ㅡ and ended on such a bitter note.
"Don't die on me, you idiot," you mutter, pressing the heels of your palms to eyes hard enough for supernovas to burst behind your closed lids. "Hurry up and get here."
Giving the ocean one last hopeful glance, you turn, heading back to rejoin the others.

"Welcome back, Captain!"
From your perch in a low laying tree branch, you watch as Bepo, Shachi and Penguin dart towards Law, relieved to have him back in one piece.
You are too, of course ㅡ but you curl your fingers against the branch, looking away when Law's head lifts.
You don't want to talk to him. (You do.)
You're still angry with him. (You're not.)
You slip from the branch and dust yourself off before you slink off, disappearing further into the dense foliage.
It doesn't take long for Law to find you. He's perhaps the only one who knows you this well, maybe even better than you know yourself at times.
"It's dangerous to roam around on your own," he says, watches as you tense for a moment before you relax, attention on the plant in front of you rather than him.
"Haven't found trouble yet." You stroke your fingers along a broad, bright green leaf before you turn, guilt gnawing viciously at your insides. "I...shouldn't have talked to you the way I did. And..."
You really shouldn't have ㅡ your own feelings aside, anyone else would've called your attitude insubordination, because Law is your captain.
"It's fine. You meant well." Law hesitates, studying you and the way you'd trailed off before he prompts gently, "And?"
You give him an unreadable look before you approach slowly, trying to keep from shying away. You could simply walk past him, rejoin the others because you can still hear them, and they'll wonder where the two of you wandered off to soon ㅡ but you don't.
Law freezes when you press against him, hyperaware of the wind of your arms against his back ㅡ foreign, but not entirely unwelcome.
"I'm sorry about this too," you say when he remains frozen, though when you move to pull away, his arms come up to stop you.
"It's fine."
You wait a beat before you press your forehead against his chest. "I should still be mad at you for making me worry. But that's also Luffy's fault, I'd assume."
Law hums. "And are you?"
You shake your head. "No."
A small smile tugs at Law's lips. "Good."
"We're going to Wano after this, yeah?" A hum of confirmation. "We should probably go back to the others before they suspect something is up."
Law's grip tightens. "In a minute," he says, leans so that his head rests atop yours. "...let me hold you a little longer."
It's not a confession from either of you, not really ㅡ but it's a start.

do u think there is a possibility more characters will join up with cross guild? im manifesting the current amazon lily residents because it feeds into my remaining roger pirates reunion wish (and would also be a way for the narrative to force both Crocodile and Mihawk to be more civil to Buggy without either of them having to grow fond or tolerant of him. they just can't beat him up anymore cause his super strong pirate dad is here). Also Boa and Buggy together would be hilarious.
hmm. i don't know, i honestly hadn't thought about it! that group seems pretty crowded with strong personalities as it stands, adding more could make things kinda messy.
it would be funny if cross guild ended up collecting all of the former warlords who aren't, yknow. in jail, or already aligned with other factions, or what have you. and there's a simple enough way to pull one of them in: perona! if she manages to get moria away from blackbeard's island alive, i don't think either of them are gonna be in great shape, and who else would she go to for help but her old roommate?
the amazons, though… i don't know. buggy's crew is something like 90% male ex-felons, and the one woman we definitely know about (alvida) is very protective of her position as Most Beautiful Woman You've Ever Met. i don't think anyone comes out of an attempted union of these groups happy.
(except maybe rayleigh, since he gets to see buggy and is probably not super concerned about petty personality clashes after the life he's lived.)
…however.
if it's not a willing union, but more of the "needs must" chaos that's driven cross guild so far… i think that could be very, very funny. especially hancock and buggy! because one, yes, that's a man, grr argh; two, i would be very surprised if her petrification powers did anything to him; three, her second favorite man on the planet raised him! surely that counts for something!
& while i would love a roger pirates reunion at cross guild or literally anywhere, oda p l e a s e, i can't decide whether i think buggy would actually want rayleigh interfering on his behalf.
on one hand: i have my pride, damn it! 😤 i'm forty fucking years old, i can take care of myself! 😤
on the other: …no i can't 🥺 please make the mean boys stop hurting me mr rayleigh 🥺
i flip-flop on this, and tbh i think so would buggy.

After we had a nice day at the pool, N.’s Mom later came home to see me. I was so nervous!! As if this was our first meeting.🤦♀️But no, this was not our first meeting just a reunion.
Anyway. Nico and I went down to the living room to wait for her. As soon as we heard the front door, I panicked! I was afraid his Mom will talk to me about the past. Philip & Nico, you know? However, N's Mom was nice to me, as she saw me there in her livingroom with Nico. She seemed surprised, but she guessed that Nico and I met again. She hugged me and told me I looked very pretty. I immediately felt welcome & a bit better. I was about to have some small talk with her, but N.’s Mom didn’t hesitate long. She changed the topic to my pregnancy...
N.'s Mom: Congratulations! I’m happy for you two.... When are you due?
Me: Do I look so fat, or-?... But well, 18 January is the exact due date. So, don't worry, we still have another five months ahead of us. 😳😬
N.'s Mom: You look stunning! Honestly. You're glowing like... the brightest star. It’s nice to see how happy you are. Do your parents know?
Me: Yes. N and I told my Mom, and she told my.... Dad.🤨
N.'s Mom: Wow, that’s good news! Your Dad knows and my son’s still alive. 😬🤷♀️That's.... good.
Me: Yea, really ... good. He-he😬 ....
Nico: All right, Ma! Now that you know... we're off!
N.'s Mom: No, no. Hold on! Wait a minute! I still have some questions for you two!... Let's sit down and talk, guys.
Nico: Come on, we don’t have time for this shit! I mean, what else is there to discuss? She’s pregnant, the baby’s coming in January, you and her parents know, we’re back together, I love her and that won’t change. That's all you have to know.
N.'s Mom: Uhm... no! Where are you two going to live? What about soccer? Should I take care of Aleksa again, while you’re abroad?... And what about Stephanie? She moved back into your apartment, N.!! 🤷♀️You’re planning on doing another weird thing? Aleksa and Stephanie together? With you? 🤨

Nico: Whoa! Chill out, both of you! Stephanie is not an issue for me!! It's over, for a long time already! She'll move out! But A. & I are looking for a new place for us. Just us!! I’m here for 6 months now and in this time, I’ll take care of everything.
N.'s Mom: OK, I understand. But... what about your condition, A.? Are you stable? You know what I mean.
Me: What do YOU, think N.? Am I stable?... Why don’t you explain it to your Mom?
Nico: W-why would I do that?... It’s none of her business, in my opinion. You..... really want that?

N's Mom: Tell me, N... Please! 🙁
We all sat down to talk in peace about my addiction. I thought Nico was about to tell his Mom what we discussed with my Doc at the hospital. It was hard for me to talk about this issue. In general, I avoided this topic.... I was looking forward to my Baby and I was overjoyed to be a mother. But the fear for my baby, it could go through hell after birth, because of my damn pills, was... always lurking in the back of my brain somewhere. Nico and I never really talked about it, to be honest. But what if our Baby actually gets withdrawal symptoms and needs to be treated with morphine?? Idk? That’s why I asked Nico to enlighten his Mom, because I didn’t know how he felt about it. I didn’t know what to say and if he even wants me to talk about it.... Once we sat down, Nico got up again. He decided not to talk to his mother about it. I was confused! So I got up too. He grabbed my hand and told me we didn’t have to explain anything to his Mom.
Nico (to his Mom): Listen! She’s fine, she’s not hooked or so. That’s all you need to know.
Me: But-... Are we just leaving? 😳
Nico (to me): You don’t want this, I know that! I’m doing this for you! I promised...
Me: Yea, but your Mom isn't Melanie. You can explain everything to her. I don’t mind, I just can't talk about it myself.
Nico: But there’s nothing to explain, babe. You're fine! Our Baby's fine too! And I know it’s all gonna be okay. Trust me!
Me: Sure, I trust you. That’s why I’m here, with YOU! 🙂
N.'s Mom: What are you two talking about? Aleksa please sit down! You can talk to me.
Me: I know! But everything’s fine. Besides, that’s N.’s decision. He doesn’t want to talk about it rn. I respect that.
N.'s Mom: I'll call your Mom, A.
Me: Yea, just go on. Call her. I really don’t mind.
Nico and I went up to his room. I felt bad about his Mom, but I did what I thought was right. I was here with him, just visiting. So I followed N.... If that was right or wrong, I don’t know? Anyway, his Mom wasn’t mad at me, and she’ll get the answers to her questions anyway. But tbh, I was glad Nico got me out of that unpleasant situation/conversation.

I think out of all the fiction I experienced in 2022 Umineko is the one that's left the most lasting impact. Specifically Ange's journey and how beautifully she goes from a suicidal teenager feeling alone, abused and abandoned by all the people she loved to a confident young woman no longer obsessed with discovering the truth but conveying the emotions she experienced on that journey. From being fixated on her dead family a situation she couldn't change no matter what she did to using her talent to influence the minds of children and leave a positive change in their lives. Like Battler and Maria did for her.
Being able to forgive her abusive mother figure. Being able to accept the deaths of her family and for the first time being able to move forward in her life after spending a lot of her youth and teen years wanting to die, only living on so she could find out the truth. But thanks to the alternate reality Battler created solely for her, so she could see her family again and teach her there's stuff far more important than the truth, like simply cherishing the memory of her loved ones even if they were inaccurate and false. being viewed with a childish naivete. Whether her memories made her view certain members of her family as more despicable or favourable than they really were. She should cherish them all the same since those memories will be with her until she dies even when her family isn't. As someone who's experienced deep loss over the last year it was so comforting reading a character who's life had been defined by the loss of her family and who had no way of knowing how to cope with it, gradually learn that there's so much more to her than her past trauma and that it's fine for her to keep on living without them. That as much as she loves them, she doesn't need them and she can create her own path in life.
But more than anything I love the conclusion she comes to in the end. Wanting to become an author and write stories for children and the next generation. To teach them all of the lessons she learned from her trauma and how she was able to overcome it. Not wanting any children to suffer like her and Maria did. Umineko is a story that is all about stories in general so having Ange who's the emotional heart of the series and the most important character in the ending decide to create her own stories just makes sense.
Also I'm a huge fan of the trope of characters leaving everything behind to start a new life. And Ange starting this new chapter in her life by giving up the Ushiromiya family fortune and her name along with it. Starting her new life as an author under a new name living by the sea in a log cabin. It's what she deserves! 😤
This alone would've been good enough as a conclusion but I'm so glad the epilogue of the series is also based around her. I like that we actually get to see her success as a fully grown adult who's survived and prospered into an renowned author. Hits more seeing what she's become and been able to achieve rather than only seeing her as a teenager.
Also her reunion with Battler is perfect! The main goal of the final arc is for Ange to accept her family's deaths and come to terms with the fact that she's never going to see them again so that she can finally move forward in her own life. So then her reuniting with Battler could've been seen as undermining or relinquishing her development. But the story handles it perfectly and in true Umineko fashion its more bittersweet than anything with Battler having amnesia from his head trauma and now no longer being able to see his old memories with Ange as his own anymore. It works as brilliant closure since Ange is able to vocalise the loneliess she felt to someone and Battler is able to see the healthy, splendid woman she's become just like he wanted even if it's through the eyes of another man. It also pays off the idea/theme which the story was pushing heavily that even if you think you're never going to see a loved one again, as long as you're alive the possibility is never zero.

Rescue Bots x One Piece
Do you think that when the kids are back at home after a lot of adventures, their pirates crews when meeting the kids families, would Sanji do a Sanji thing and start simping for Anna Barabova (Frankie's new mom), Dani (Cody's big sister) or even maybe Quickshadow 😂😅???
For Cody of course would be hard different as even tho the Burns and the Bots are angry Cody would stop them because he knows how strong Kid and his crew are... unless we say that in all this time the crew warm up to Cody and do feel sorry.
Part of this answer depends how long the kids were gone, ether a few months to a year or more maybe.
All the same, it's a heartwarming reunion for a lot of people.
Frankie or Greenie as she's called among the Strawhats has a great time showing her family along with the Rescue Team and the Bots.
Everyone is both impressed and a bit freaked out by Frankys robot body, with Anna Baranova horrified how anyone could put that much robotic prosthetics into there body all on their own😣
But it dies down, and Doc Greene is an instant fan asking so many questions about how Franky's body and the rest of his inventions work. Anna would be a lot more friendlier but would try to ask Franky to put on some pants, especially in front of Cece. Though she's pleasantly surprised at how brilliant Franky is despite his eccentric behaviors.
Chase would comment that Franky was being indecent, possibly criminally so 🤨
But Blades would try to copy his dance 😆
Speaking of the bots, Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, and Franky are instant fans of the bots. Eyes sparkling at their shiny armor and at the way they transformed into different vehicles. Luffy would stretch to jump on Heatwave shoulder and immediately ask him to join his crew or Blades after seeing him fly🤩
Sanji is a gentleman to all women, it dosent matter what age or even species they are. So he be incredibly respectful to Dr. Baranova and Quickshadow, but you better believe that he'll do a noodle dance when he sees Dani or even Madeline Pynch.
"Dani! My darling! My dear rescuing angel! Please save me! My heart is in need of your sweet medical care! One only you can cure"!😍
He's swiftly cut off by ether a hit from Nami or a confrontation from Taylor if he's there.
Kade be pretty mad if he started flirting with Hayley but he get told off too for looking at Nami and Robin a little longer than he should😅
Though the biggest person who may not have made the best impression would be Brook. While being a singing talking skeleton made him extra cool to a lot of the Griffin Rock Team, especially the bots who are interested in learning about human anatomy and think the expossed bone structure is very educational, he looses a lot of respect when he goes around asking his....underwear question...😒
Kade threatened to bury him while Chief Burns was close to socking him😤
Plus Blades thought he was kinda scary.
But after a while, they make up, loving Brooks music and seeing what a kind person he was to her. His jokes are funny too, and the 45-degree angle one has Graham and Boulder laughing!
He even find a connection between himself and Baranova, given that they were left isolated for years. Him at sea and her underwater.
Chopper is an instant favorite with Dani and the other girls, along with the more animal loving bots. But what really makes him a fast friend to Dani and Dr. Baranova is his medical knowledge and they sir and talk about the best care for things like first aid or what kind of rescue needed a special kind if medical care. Chopper thought Dani wad the coolest given that she rescued and treated people as part of her job.
Usopp, being an inventory himself, thinks Geiffin Rock is amazing and would talk to Doc Greene about his inventions. The pair even swapping stories over how some of there inventions went wild.
Robin is another favorite among the scientists, offering insights into their world and its history to anyone intrested. Uncle Woodrow would like her and to hear her stories with the crew and the different islands they went too.
Doc Greene is just fascinated about Devil Fruits and goes around asking each member about theirs. He's stretched Luffys skin, shook hands with an arm Robin sprouted, asked Brook to show him his "soul", and on Chopper and his shape-shifting abilities.
Zoro is really interested in the bots andvwonders how good they could fight😏
The Rescue Team, though, is worried and nervous at the fact he carries swords, with Chase saying he needs to be jailed for bring illegally armed.
Luffy thinks Griffin Rock is cool though a little bit boring till an emergency happens. Hethinks the Burns are cool for being heros but still says he never be one. Kade likes Luffy and finds him funny, also that he like Kade sandwiches.
When its eventually time to leave Frankie cries, as much as she wanted to be with her parents the Strawhats were her family now too. She wanted to see Luffy become King of the Pirates and see the others complete there dreams but she wants to be with her dad and new Mom.
It's a hard goodbye.
Now onto Pricsilla.
Pricsilla tries to introduce her mother to the crew and Law, tell her about her adventures and her Devil Fruit Power. But her mother, Madeline Pynch m, remain polite but cold. Even brushing off the crew members who tried to talk with her and tell her what a wonderful daughter she has, even cute Bepo!
The only ones who were friendly were the Burns, the Greene Family, and the Bots.
Law didn't like her, the cold and calculating eyes of Madeline Pynch reminded him too much of Doflamingo or members of his organization. Measuring people's worth and how the stock of the situation could benefit them.
Also Madeline isn't very welcoming of Priscillas powers asking her not to use them or even show them to anyone. I. Her words there "creepy and unsightly" though Madeline would contemplate on maybe using them for a scheme.
It does break Priscilla heart, but this was her mom and her home, she was back and needed to go back to normal...right?
In a quiet moment Law offers a place on his ship for Priscilla, permanently. He understood this was her home universe but if she could see herself any other place then he be willing to take her on his crew again.
Priscilla almost cries as this was one of the nicest things Law has said to her.
But what should she choose?
Now we get onto the real angsty part of this crossover, Cody.
Again how Cody is depends on the timeline.
If hebwas older he would have learned at this point how to act like a member of Kids Crew. Being kind of haughty and tough. Imagine everyone's surprise seeing an older Cody who comes off as rude, dressed like a punk, and carrying a weapon 😰
But if it was a still a rather young Cody, he may just be really quiet.
Though all the same he does break into tears and the hisvfamily, along with the Greens, and the Bots ate so happy and relieved to see him...with a metal Griffin?
But slowly they start to see something wrong.
Unlike the pirate crew that Frankie and Priscilla had and where eagerly introducing to the others. Cody was quiet about his, only introducing his captain with a nod calling him "Captain Kid".
Chief Burns knows there is something wrong with his son, Cody was a bot full of smiles and warmth. But now it feels like he's just a shadow of his former self. With a scared face and a hard look in his eyes.
The pirates he was with don't seem friendly ether all glaring or looking apathetic at the Griffin Rock residents. But did have interested or wary looks to the bots.
All the same Chief Burns tries to be polite going up to Kid and thanking him for " taking care of my son and bring him back"
(The next scene depends of which kind of Kid this is. Kid from Wano may have been a little humbled but still determined and arrogant. In ether case if Cody was with him in Wano and supported him with the rest of the crew against the Beast Pirate, Kid might have just nodded at that. Cody may have just been a useless little kid but he was loyal and proved himself tough enough to make it on his crew. He knew Cody wanted to be home and for his time in the crew for good and bad he may have been soften enough to just let him just be with his family.
Pre Kaido Caaptain Kid is another story...)
Kid gave Chief Burns a look before laughing cruelly "Back? Who says he's staying"?
The turning around he gestures his crew back to the ship "I don't know how the he'll we got here but as soon as it's figured out we're leaving, I'll be taking my crew on a side of the island" Kidd glares at Law and Luffy "You better keep out of my way Strawhat, Trafalgar"
As he walks off he turns his head to Cody and Airazor and says "All of us"
Chief Butns could see his son stiffen but all the same Cody gestured for Airazor to move and silently he began to walk back with Kid and the Crew.
His family was shocked, there happy reunion ending too soon. There little brother leaving them, being forced to walk away
"Cody"! his dad called trying to catch up with him.
Kade followed yelling "Cody you've been gone for months! And just got back and now your leaving?! Why are you even listening to this guy-"
He didn't get a chance to finish as too fantastic a curved blade was at his neck.
"I watch what you say to Captain Kidd" said a masked man, Killer.
Everyone gasp and Hayley cried out in fear for Kade!
Heatwave moved to help his partner, a giant hand ready to pin or snatch the knife wielding human away from his partner.
But the-
"Repel"
Heatwave was sent falling down on his back. He was shocked, everyone was, that a Autobot could just be sent tobbling over like a block of wood.
A dark laugh from Kid rang out at he turned to the bots "So my power can work on these tin cans...this should be fun" 😈
But before he could move at the panicked bots a voice was heard.
"Weren't you leaving, Eustass"? Said Law
Kidd glared at him only to get an equally strong look back from not only him but Luffy as well.
Kidd scoffed and continued walking. Killer let Kade go who nearly collapsed at how close he was to losing his head.
Cody was watching his family worried, hesitant to try to check on Kade. His family and friends looked at him begging him to stay.
But Cody felt a firm but gentle hand on his shoulder, Cody looked to see Killer who gave him a quiet shake of the head before guiding him back with there group.
The Burns family was a mess, they just got there youngest back but now he was forced to leave.
How could they have let this happen?
(In the end things get worse before they get better)

I'm sorry this has been sitting in my inbox so long without response. My brain has such a tough time with these cause it refuses to suspend further disbelief with canon but imma do it for you. 🧡
Somehow Bertholdt comes back. Maybe Ymir decides to completely bring back some of the shifters who were killed during the transfers, like him Ymir, Porco, Marcel even. Gosh that's heartbreaking considering how many folks don't get that chance but damn it we're focusing on reunion Bertie things ok!! 😤😤😤
He comes back in the area where he died. Completely whole and with knowledge of what all's happened because of being in The Paths. Everything around him is completely destroyed due to the Rumbling. There are folks rummaging through the wreckage, looking for survivors, trying to salvage anything they can, and he immediately moves to start helping. Knowing all that he knows now--hell knowing what he knew before he died--there's no difference between him and anyone here. And without Marley knowing he's alive, he has no reason to keep allegiance. And there's no way for him to easily get across the ocean to make his presence known to his father or Reiner or anyone--he's not even certain he wants to. Not after everything. Not when so many aren't getting this second chance at life. A second chance he's doesn't feel deserving of. So he just decides to join the small populace of other survivors trying to make way in a world that doesn't make much sense anymore.
The idea that you would've somehow forgiven him after everything doesn't cross his mind. It's not something he would've dared hoped for. He certainly doesn't expect you to be thinking of him when there are so many other important things to be prioritizing.
Luckily, as massive as the colossals were, they didn't begin to spread out in formation until reaching the ocean. So, while there is irreparable damage done to the land, there's still unmarred land left on Paradis for folks to inhabit. If nothing else, there's the area of the island on the side of the walls opposite the rest of the world.
I feel like, due to Bertholdt thinking there's no way you'd forgive him, he wouldn't seek you out. It'd have to happen by happen stance. Maybe you're part of the Alliance along with Reiner? And in the aftermath of so much death and destruction, humans are going to probably cling to things that feel familiar. Especially pomp and circumstance. So whenever the Alliance is set to visit the palace, there's a big to do. It becomes common knowledge that the main members of the Alliance are those who had key roles to play in The Rumbling.
As much as Bertholdt knows he needs to keep his head down. And that he shouldn't test the tenuous thread of normalcy he's been able to rebuild for himself, he can't help but join the throngs of folks lining the streets as the convoy of officials make their way to the palace.
And as fate would have it--cause we love cliche moments of fate in this house!--You end up catching sight of him in the crowd.
Sure you dream of him often, but you've never actually hallucinated him while awake. Immediately you grab Reiner's hand and tell him to pinch you. Of course Reiner is asking why would he do that, but your eyes haven't left their lock on Bertholdt and as much as he knows he should probably leave, he's frozen in place.
You're talking to Reiner and fiddling with his hands while you sit on the back of the open top car, but he notices your eyes locked on something so he follows your line of sight to see the ghost that haunts both of you.
"Bertholdt?"
"You see him too? I'm not dreaming this?"
"I...think so."
No matter how much neck craning you both do, eventually it's impossible to keep sight of him as the vehicles trudge on. You're damn near about to jump out of the moving car except that Reiner keeps you in place. Jumping out now would cause a scene, and this isn't the time nor the place.
As soon as you're released from the duties of being an Alliance official, you're headed out of the palace grounds to where you'd caught sight of him in the crowd. Reiner's on your heels and has somehow convinced himself that you both must have been seeing some shared hallucination. What other explanation could there be?? But he's not able to keep you from going to check and he wouldn't let you go alone so he's by your side.
You've trudged up and down the streets and alleyways multiple times and haven't caught sight of him again. It's getting late and most people are either home, headed there, or headed toward different taverns for food and drink. Two things that'll always keep you in business. Reiner has kept his mouth shut for the most part as you stalk up and through the streets. But now that it's getting dark he feels the need to cut this search off.
"We should head back. Things are tenuous as is and they'll be wondering where we've gone."
"I'm not going back until I find him."
Reiner grabs your arm, unintentionally jerking you back as your forward momentum is abruptly halted.
"We're not going to find him. Bertholdt. Is. Gone." He still struggled using the word, dead. But he was under no allusion that he was somehow alive.
"We saw hi-"
"Nothing. We saw nothing except someone that looked a lot like him. He can't be alive. Armin took on the Colossal and...and that's that."
"Fine," you shake your arm from Reiner's grasp, tucking it back by your side. "Then I'm going to find the man that looks like him."
"How? Do you plan to knock on every door and ask to meet every resident?"
"If that's what it takes."
A pained groan leaves Reiner's throat as his palms drag over his face. "Do you hear yourself? This is insane!" It's not his intention to shout the last part but frustration and a messy concoction of other emotions are quickly taking hold.
"Bertholdt is dead, YN! Dead! He's not coming back and we're not going to see him again!" He's shaking at this point. And he's not sure if he's yelling at you or just trying to beat down the silly hope that'd sparked to life in his own heart earlier. "You're being unreasonable! What we saw was wishful thinking and we need to return to the palace before they realize we're gone. Now let's go!"
After it's all out the regret and guilt descend like vultures. Swooping in, pecking at his flesh, making him wince with every detail he takes in of your horrified expression.
"YN...I'm sorry I--"
Before he can finish you're stepping forward and grabbing his hand. Fingers lacing his own and squeezing tight. But your not looking up at him. You're looking past him.
"Bertholdt?"
Reiner clenches his jaw and sighs, squeezing you hand back. After all that he doesn't understand how you're still caught up on--
"Hi...I heard my name..."
The familiar voice has Reiner immediately whipping around. "No. No this is impossible."
As Reiner mumbles beneath his breath your other hand is reaching out and Bertholdt isn't sure if he should take it or not. Obviously he's already made trouble for you both. This was stupid of him. He should've kept walking but when he'd heard his name and seen you both standing here, he couldnt. Then you'd caught sight of him and any ability to leave had become impossible.
When he doesn't reach out for your hand you're moving forward, dragging Reiner along until you're holding Bertholdt's hand as well. It's warm. So warm. Your thumb runs beneath the underside of his wrist and you can his pulse.
Your grip is bruising but Bertholdt hasn't felt such a comforting sensation since he's been returned.
There are so many things racing through your head. Elation at being right. Thankful that your mind wasn't simply cracking beneath all the pressure and expectations. Incomprehension about how any of this was possible. So, so many things. And yet with all the tumultuous feelings swirling around, the next words you speak are clear and steady. "We've missed you so much."
Your hands release their hold on both men so you can wrap your arms around Bertholdt's lean frame. You're not aware of any exchange between the two men. Even if words were spoken you're too focused on recommiting the sound of Bertholdt's heartbeat to memory. Before too long you feel Reiner's body crowd in close as his arms wrap around you and Bertholdt.

Things I hope to see in Beyond The Spiderverse
Now that Across The Spider Verse established that they can pretty much do anything they want, I was starting to wonder what are some cool fanservicy things I would like to see in the next movie.
These aren't "the plot needs to be told this way or it won't be good! 😤" kinds of things, but more like stuff that would please my nerdy side.
(Possible spoilers for Across the spider verse)
5. MORE CAMEOS
Spiderverse 2 had a massive list of cameos, even showing characters I didn't know existed like a Spider T-Rex, but there were still a few characters that I wish had gotten just a tad more screen time.
Characters like Silk, Ultimate Jessica, Scarlet Kane, or Araña in her classic costume (I think I saw her in her new costume, but I like the old one more).
They don't need to be speaking roles, just need to get about as much focus as Spider-Man Unlimited got in this movie.
4. SHATTERED DIMENSIONS REUNION
It would be cool to see one of the originators of the idea of a spiderverse getting a callback by having some sort of scene with Miguel, Noir, Peter, and either Miles or a Spider-Man with a venom suit in the same room.
They don't even need to talk, just need to give me one cool shot together so I can save it as my wallpaper 🥰
3. GWENOM
Gwen with the venom suit is one of the coolest venom designs I've ever seen, and Spider Gwen herself was already a really solid design.
It would be awesome if they had some scene where they need to break some kind of emergency item and reveal it to be a symbiote that Gwen uses in order to show her comic design.
2. A BADASS FIGHT WITH TAILS
I love Into The Spiderverse and Across The Spiderverse, but neither of the two managed to really give me the true final boss fight with the villain I was waiting for.
The fight with Kingpin in the first movie was neat, but not really that excitement since the opponent was basically just a big guy that punches really hard.
The second movie had much better action scenes, but it still wasn't really a fight when it came to the Miles and Miguel confrontation, it was just a tag game.
I'm hoping that with Miles Prowler we actually truly get a really cool, really exciting, really well choreographed fight scene.
1. YURI AND JOSH TOGETHER
These two are my favorite voices for Spider-Man, and I would just scream if they had a scene just exchanging lines.
Doesn't even need to be a plot-relevant line. It could be the most throw-away sentence ever, just anything to have an excuse for these two to talk. I seriously love their voices.
And that's pretty much it, I think 🤔
I'm sure whatever they do with the movie will end up being a 10/10 experience, but these are just the things that could make it go from a "nice" 10/10 to a really freaking solid 10/10.

the handsome and talented Lorenz Hellman Gloucester is back, baby!!!!
I'm thinking it's time for a run update~
So, we're well on our way to finishing this mf run! Completely neglected to make a timeskip post, so just pretend that I did do that.
With Lorenz (and Dedue) recovered, the team is officially back together again and ready to take on the world 😤
Current setup:
m!Byleth - Wyvern Lord
Dimitri - Wyvern Lord
Annette - Gremory, with occasional forays into Wyvern Riderdom [bonus: adjutant Gilbert]
Constance - Swordmaster or, when I think I'll need Rescue, Mortal Savant [bonus: adjutant bishops Flayn or Marianne]
Mercedes - Gremory
Lorenz - Dark Knight
I was worried about chapter 14, defending GM, but it was surprisingly not so bad! Dimitri got to park on the wider defensive spot with lancebreaker, AS+, and batt wrath/vantage, so none of the cavalry who reached him had a chance to make it past. However, thanks to the efforts of Annette and Constance, basically no one reached him in the first place!
I was also a little concerned about chapter 15, Ailell, since I'm accustomed to struggling with it, but I forgot that it's just a shit ton of axes and slow, low-res, armored enemies, which means rapier-wielding Coco and windmaster Annie were slicing through those mfs like butter. Easiest map of my life lmao.
Constance and Ferdinand shared a lovely, heartbreaking reunion at the Great Bridge of Myrrdin before she proceeded to annihilate him without hesitation or remorse. #Girlboss. Then Lorenz risked it all for a smidgen of pu- (Mercedes snipes me with her magic bow before I can finish the sentence) *ahem* Lorenz rejoined the team for perfectly normal and morally sound reasons.
Lorenz has spent the last few weeks training up to catch up with the ladies, so he's a girlboss too now. Constance has gotten every strength, charm, and speed stat boosters, Annette gets all the magic ones, Lorenz gets all the res and def and splits HP with Annette. Mercedes gets... nothing. She doesn't really need anything since her role is mostly healing Lorenz and sniping with a magic bow sometimes.
Where we stand currently, the team is nice and reliable, and Rodrigue has approximately four days to live.

Bestie! I was gonna comment on chapter 20 and forgot to until today. Then I looked and saw chapter 21 was posted. I’m gonna try to keep it short because I’ve been at both jobs this weekend, and I haven’t gotten enough sleep. Anyways, time for the good stuff.
When Bruce cut her free in chapter 20 I felt that. Oofta. I know it was hard for her because she flinched. But Bruce? Bruce was shitting himself and being so emo about it. He definitely wishes he had anything else to cut her free. It was mentioned that she’d hold the blade and try to not be afraid of it. Did Bruce ever find that out? If so, he’s prime emo about it. Also I adore that they both jumped into the water. “If your fiancé jumped off a bridge would you?” 100% they each would. Alfred 100% had the brain cell at the moment.
Now onto chapter 21 because I remember that one more because I just read it.
I love that the mayor just got elected, and she’s already giving her sass. She’s definitely better than the last mayor, but some trends live forever. Gordon was amused, and Bruce, in hindsight, finds himself able to be amused by it. In the moment? He’s thinking about brain damage. I love how she immediately was like “yes we will help with relief efforts.” Queen.
The reunion with Alfred at the hospital gets a chefs kiss! I love that dad-daughter duo. They love each other so much, and they’re so soft. I love that she pushed him, and he was upset by it. If the roles were reversed she’d feel the same way. I especially love the detail that when they got home the house smelled like paint. Let’s be real, that stuff is still spray painted to the floor. Alfred will be pissed when he finds out. He’s gonna be muttering to himself “he’s a billionaire and he can’t afford a whiteboard apparently.” Hats off to her for working with a concussion. Actually no, she shouldn’t have done that. Side story: I got a concussion at work once. I was told I could go back the next day, even though screens made my head hurt worse. You’re also not supposed to read apparently??? Didn’t know that and read a bunch that weekend. I love that she kept falling asleep. That’s getting a chefs kiss. When I had my concussion I was out like a light.
I’m getting extra sleepy so I’m gonna zoom through.
Their reunion!!!! I’m so glad they apologized and talked!!!! When she mentioned she was drugged Bruce was ready to go back and beat the shit out of the man. I wonder how bad her nightmares will be going forward. Considering that she’s been drugged again. Bruce wanting a wedding? Like a wedding with a party? Chefs kiss! We love to see it. That says a lot about how much he loves her and values her in my opinion.
I’m so glad he told her about Falcone. They both deserve all the peace (even though I love seeing him suffer.)
Also I wonder if the riddler said anything to batman about her in the asylum. When he was ranting about Bruce I can imagine him saying he doesn’t deserve her and shit. That would get Bruce in his emo hours, but makes him wanna kill him more.
Predications: softness. Fluff. Alfred roasting Bruce during his best man speech.

Bruce was so emo about it, no question! And he did find that out I think! Idk if I mentioned it, but he definitely knows that she secretly messes with the blade so it won't hold power over her. Also you're so right--Alfred got blown up and he still had the only brain cell
I like to think my reader and Bella Reál are really similar people! I see a lot of strength and sass in the new mayor (like her meeting Bruce and immediately giving him shit for not doing more for the city?? Queen). So of course the two would get along! And yeah Bruce is just standing there thinking "shit she really needs an MRI what if her brain is bleeding how can I get her off the roof to a hospital can I fly a helicopter if I had to how far is the helicopter oh my god what if her nose starts bleeding that's bad right" and on and on and on
Alfred and her are my favorite!! I love their dynamic and I always love throwing little scenes in there! We were robbed of a reunion scene between him and Bruce in the movie I tell you, ROBBED. (No pun intended.)
Also I've only had a minor concussion (did it to myself in the dumbest way ever) but yeah you 100% should not be working or looking at anything, and here reader is creating relief packages and working with the new mayor. She's just like Bruce who can and does work with concussions constantly (and let's be real--dude has a concussion from the bomb and/ or eating shit in the suit and has also been awake two days straight. They're so similar.)
Bruce was definitely about to zoom back to Arkham and beat the shit out of the Riddler. Poor guy. Him wanting a wedding for her, a real wedding, is something I've always had in my mind! He's such a romantic at heart in my opinion and he would gladly face his greatest fears (socializing) to make sure she gets the experience she deserves.
Also re: nightmares yeah they're both gonna need real therapy this time tbh!
So much fluff coming bestie! It's not even a spoiler to say that. Get your toothbrush ready because it's so sweet you'll get cavities!
As for the honeymoon 👀 I may or may not be planning a oneshot revolving around it!
