Mom told me about how you met. You too came from two different worlds, but that didn’t stop you from loving each other.

stuck on the fact that a small part of Dongsik hoped for 20 entire years that Yuyeon was still alive. he fantasized about coming across her in random places and was anxious about recognizing her as a 40 year old woman because he genuinely still held onto a glimmer of hope for two decades. ten years and another ten years after than. half his life picturing his sister dead and alive turn by turn. maybe even when he burst the wall open he still thought there was a chance it would be empty.
and isn't it supremely fucked up that for the enormous, cataclysmic impact that Yuyeon's disappearance had on Dongsik and the central place that his love for her occupies in his motivations as a character, the only time they interact on-screen is when he finally finds her body and tenderly cradles her long-dead hands in his.

How I've seen most people write Rangi coming out to her mom:
Rangi: Mom, I have something to tell you.
Hei-Ran: Go on.
Rangi: Kyoshi and I.....are.....together.
Hei-Ran: Oh I'm so happy for you.
*they hug it out, much wholesome*
How I think the coming out scene went:
Rangi: Mother. I need to tell you something, Kyoshi and I are together.
Hei-Ran: Oh thank the spirits. It finally happened.
Rangi: ???? You knew????
Hei-Ran: Sweetie, everyone in the mansion-no, all of Yokoya knew about it! Well except for Kyoshi.
Rangi: ????!! WHAT?!
Hei-Ran: I'm pretty sure Jianzhu thought you were dating, that's probably why he kidnapped you, you know?
Rangi: WH-HOW?!
Hei-Ran: Oh please, we saw your gay little ass running all over the damn mansion just to be near Kyoshi and to impress her. We were mute, not blind and deaf!
Rangi, having a crisis: I-wha-but-
Hei-Ran: Well, you aren't very good at hiding your emotions sweetie.
Rangi, flipping a nearby table: The fuck you mean I'm not?????!
Hei-Ran: Oh curses, go get Atuat, I owe her $5.
Rangi: YOU BETTED ON THIS????? WITH YOUR DOCTOR?????
Hei-Ran: Well Kelsang is dead, so I had to keep our bet alive somehow.
Rangi: I-*inhales* YOu know what? Doesn't matter! Do you accept Kyoshi or not?
Hei-Ran: Anybody who gives my girl that much cardio is 100% welcome into our family. In fact, I already added her to our family registry 2 years ago. As far as the Fire Nation is concerned, you two have been married for a while.

Fun fact: Both the Pilots and Ninjago Dragons Rising start with two supposed orphans living together in a community of people, being at some point entangled with an evil group seeking domination over the world, and getting taken in by a member of the FSM family!

The difference in expressions here is really interesting to me. The second could be a range of emotions, up to and including Hiruzen's suggestion that Orochimaru might be glad to finally kill him, possibly with some small bit of nostalgia mixed in.
But the original manga panel? There's a lot of emotion there as well, but happiness is nowhere to be found.

Little concept for a Jedi Seer
Her name is Nayana
She is one of the oldest Seers in the Temple by the time of the Clone Wars
She lost her sight due to an incident provoked by her trying to stop one of her visions
Absolute batshit crazy old lady, few are the ones who can manage to talk with her for more than 10 minutes

Doing a Marauders Prequel Series is a Waste of Time
Listen, if you look at JKR's writing for the 7 HP books they follow a similar pattern. 90% of the book is pure fluff where she makes you think Harry and his pals are doing something productive when they are not and then everything suddenly happens at the end through dumb luck, deus ex machina or other contrivances. (Ex. see Deathly Hallows, Chamber of Secrets, Philospher's Stone)
Here's a rough take on how the Marauder's prequel show would go:
15% Mauraders hijinks (becoming animagus, making the map, James crushing on Lily etc)
5% Voldemort war/Slytherins
5% maybe Sirius' family drama
75% Marauders bullying Snape
Like...what content is there to show? More boring magic classes? Slytherins once again being given no development (outside from maybe Andromeda dating a mudblood)? More annoying love drama?? All we will see is James' annoying crush on Lily and these boys being huge bullies. If you get one decent season of substantial episodes, that's plenty.
I bet Marauder stans just want to see a show where Severus is constantly shoved into a toilet or something and shown to be a loser incel.

Tomoe introduced Nathalie to Gabriel, and Nathalie helped Gabriel find the miraculous that allowed him and Emilie to have a child, to fulfill their “dream”.
Gabriel endangered Kagami’s existence, so Tomoe threathens Adrien’s.

Just sitting here thinking about how insanely profound it is that even when not shipped romantically Obi-Wan and Anakin are STILL soulmates. Like romantic feelings or sexual attraction notwithstanding - they are literally metaphysical soulmates!!!

some books truly do not need sequels but that a story isn't necessary doesn't always make it bad; i've said this before but stories are not perfectly calibrated plot-exporting machines, sometimes taking a side-road is fun simply because it is possible, sometimes it will add to your understanding in a way you didn't think to question, sometimes it's simply pleasurable to revisit the lives of characters you care for

Some characters really emphatically do not need a Backstory™ and Willy Wonka is the absolute embodiment of such a character.

i think the vamp tv show if they do get into les past in s3 they should start w the wolfkiller scene. i personally dont have an interest in seeing any actor besides sam reid play les or even having a younger actor play a ‘younger’ lestat cuz i actually think the fact that lestat was physically aged up makes him providing for his family + being sent out to kill wolves make sense. i can more readily imagine a 30 something yr old esp a sam reid type taking down a pack of wolves than i could some 20 year old no shade to book les im js

roddenberry descends from heaven and confers upon you the keys to Star Trek. now that you are the pope of star trek, what do you do? in what direction do you take trek? what new show do you launch?
the snarky answer: nothing. i let the franchise die rather than continue to become an ourobouros of self-reference and fanservice. this is probably a bit too harsh, but it does make me think that the longstanding ban on having star trek fans work on star trek during the tng era was probably, on net, a good thing--it ensured new stories would be told rather than retreading the same characters again and again. although even if i could convince cbs/paramount of the wisdom of this course of action, i probably have too much ego to really follow through: i am arrogant enough to believe *i* could do star trek right again.
so, the more realistic answer: cancel all existing shows and projects--yes, even my beloved SNW. concentrate on a planet-of-the-week episodic show set in the "present" of the franchise (which by default is now the discovery era). start accepting spec scripts again--but nothing that mentions the borg, section 31, the dominion, or fucking time travel. these were all fine in small doses (except time travel) and got beaten to death through overuse by mediocre writers. i would strongly encourage script writers to focus on high-concept SF over political intrigue--starfleet-internal drama and alpha quadrant space politics would be rejected as episode topics unless you could really do something special with them. also there would be a hard moratorium on characters who were related to established characters; this is less of an issue in the 32nd century, but we really don't need more noonien soonghs or lost siblings of spock falling out of a spacetime fissure.
and i would hire the set designers and digital matte artists from SNW, because (though there are many things i love about that show), the visuals on it have been truly exceptional.
