A Doberman pinscher and U.S. Marine War Dog named "Butch" stands guard as his handler, Pvt. Rez Hester catches some sleep in a fighting hole on Iwo Jima in February, 1945.
So, I may have stolen one of my wife's War Dogs to turn into a Karnivore ally for my Death Guard. Don't worry, I bought her another box of War Dogs before I took this one. Although I kinda wish I magnetized this one. It will forever be a Karnivore moving forward. Which is fine with me, but to utilize the model better I will advocate for magnetization. Just more bang for your buck.
It still blows my mind how scarce War Dogs are. If only Chaos Knight lists weren't just "Oops All War Dogs." It makes for a very stale army. However, painting this was kinda fun. I used things like texture paste and contrast paints for the first time. It fits my army's paint scheme, but I don't think this scheme works well on larger models. I might need to rethink my painting strategy a bit. Unsure, but I'll keep going on until I can figure something else out. I don't really know what to paint currently, but I have plenty of Plague Marines left to paint. I might also be getting a cool leader model soon.
