this. makes me go fucking insane. continuing
im still going fucking insane about my last tags
there's NO possible way of victim not seeing something that was streamed on alans channel and respectively streamed in the outernet. its canon that avm original was streamed there. even if it wasnt every episode of avam it is still there. victim lives there and knows what outernet has (and most likely knows about oranges and cg existence. not their powers but existence from at least an avm original episode)
and given that vic learned about chosen and that he was wanted. that victim KNEW about their existence and chased after them. that he had seen something that made him realize that chosen inherently had ties with alan??
one of my thoughts is that only specific stuff is accessible to outernet in canon. maybe not even the whole content of vids. (though the avm original was sixteen minutes and in "the king" it is seen that the video streamed is also sixteen minutes) which could explain how victim only knew a small bit of stuff and didnt just see the a bit of a whole thirty minute willingly and went "well thats all i gotta know about it".
its likely victim accessed chosen(and possibly dark) videos streamed and connected the dots by recognizing alan, similar methods of torturing chosen and the interface of alans pc.
(since its canon victims torture is on youtube and possibly chosens its kinda fucked if they accessed it as well. which perhaps made them even more vengeful)
thought. was showdown something that was streamed or something that was uploaded on youtube? at least the beginning of it?? and victim knew only bits of it???. it could be possible that victim knew about chosen&dark place of living and darks technology. from just bits of information and his company couldve investigated it? but ultimately didnt find chosen nor dark there. and therefore placed a damn bounty on chosen. and they mightve used leftover darks technology there for their own shit. victim knowing about darks tech and possibly small pieces of the showdown could also be explained that he didnt seem to mind the events taken before yellow coded the cursor into the outernet when going through chosens memory. but it does make me think whether victim knew that the cg went back to the pc and therefore didnt place wanted posters of them ??? did he know about darks death and therefore didnt place wanted posters of dark?? wouldnt he try any means to find how to get to alan? is it possible that only the cursor and tscs awakening parts of the showdown video were erased and vic, again, wanted to see more to it (i had a thought that he couldve known what is up with the showdown due to having surveillance technology but im doubting it because chosen and dark lived really secludedly from the city).
but in case the showdown was somewhat seen? by other sticks? and vic couldve known about darks and chosen terror shit from other sticks/a news outlet? oh my god i just realized something
so theres a comic about me wondering how did sticks treat chosens&dark terror in the internet and possibly outernet too. that dark blasted a whole fucking beam in the sky near the stickcity and it wasnt unable to be seen. could victim see that???? could he connect the dots that it was hollowheads power??
the rocket logo. dude. i JUST THOUGHT about it yesterday. and it made so much sense to me
my possible thought was. that victim did escape alanspc through the ip/pc sky. somewhat. in one way or another. and it was the reason why a rocket was picked as the corporations logo.
a rocket is something that is able to literally fly to the sky. to access the higher parts of the world. the ip/sky part of it that had a wormhole to alan in it. the person victim chased after.
and given that rocketcorp specializes on tech. another reason to it besides victims knowledge and ability to use it before and deciding to bring it into the outernet and devote a whole company to it. a rocket is literally something that is made of technology. and since they had to chose a logo that symbolizes tech
victim chose something that represented his goal.

i basically treat it as a base for my theories that victim established/reformed a corporation that used internet technologies he himself brought into the outernet (in one way or another). but his company is widely known as a regular tech company that produces all different kinds of it. including domestic stuff like tvs and surveillance cameras and also weapons. but due to technology and digital stuff literally forming the internet and outernet itself they also act as some force in the outernet that upkeeps and protects its citizens. since theyre the only ones with that kind of power
and all these projects that cover many areas of technology that are made by them are used to cover their shady underground shit like. the box and torture and victims true goal (which i believe he could be secret about even to his mercs and colleagues)
and that the point of victim bringing internet technology there. his whole plan of revenge.
it is done in order to protect his kind from something that he experienced. giving them a mean to defend themselves. ESPECIALLY after knowing cursors of users can be manifested in the outernet and damage sticks.
and he is the kind to be ruthless about it if it means creating safety. something he lacked.
(violence and oppression cant be solved with peaceful talks kind of mentality)

also. another thought
giving the possibility that victim "fell down" from the ip/sky. him providing the internet with basically "divine power" that regular kind of outernet sticks didnt have. him trying to protect outernet sticks from danger and death.
makes the interpretation of victim with angelic/halo symbolism in the fandom so much more sense. and so fucking amazing. oh my god i NEED to make something about this idea.
tom you opened a whole different dimension to my thinking and it fills in the holes ive thought about. im going to be so fucking insane and annoying about this.

#thinking of the links awakening sequel to alttp post and how games contrast/mirror each other#i cant say totk was super close to it. well maybe it was based on the first trailer but not anymore !#there were moments to be sure (sky island music + the great sky island) but the bulk of it is. Not#it feels less of a sequel to botw and more like a spinoff game. the world is hollow when you see the cracks and the cracks are Everywhere#npcs are wrong the structure is more linear (the great sky island for ex) the replacement of the sheikah with the zonai but it not working#due to the fact that the sheikah are still referenced and its the Same Place where literally all of the events of botw and prior happened#like. it Could In Theory Work but its trying to erase the sheikahs presence entirely which. no!! thats not how that works??#instead of mirroring or parallel and highlighting them Both it tries to scrub one out over the other#the emphasis on a Greater Past- botw focusing on 100 years prior which he and zelda and the champions and. The World have a connection to#vs totk doing more than 10000 years prior which would Seem better at first glance but it informs nothing about hyrule and nothing meaningfu#l was lost. its just a set piece to show rauru and sonias conflict with ganondorf#theres no. Connections. like it doesnt matter to ganondorf hes just oOoOoo evil and it somehow doesnt affect his goals or motives#the sky islands cant imply any context because there Is no context theyre just scattered ruins with no significance#rauru laments about the constructs but Thats It. everything is just there to be cool#especially the old temple of time/the temple of time in the sky. I really hope we learn more about Rook in book 4. What type of man he was, how he and Rebecca met and what actually happened to him.
It's been mentioned/hinted at a few times that Rook was the more family-orientated parent and that Rebecca didn't really know what to do, probably even more so once he died and she was left with the detective. Which could have resulted her in focusing on work more and more. (That's the case for Rebecca Michaelis and my detective, at least!)
I really love the family dynamic created through the books between Rebecca and the detective, especially due to the strain the absence could have caused if you choose to go down that path. But I do wish that Rebecca would finally open up a bit more about Rook for longer than she has previously.
Especially since, from what we have seen about him so far, I can't help but think of an AU where it was Rook left to raise the detective instead:
Would the detective have a different life if that were the case? Would they have a better parental relationship or would things continue to happen the way they have done with Rebecca? Would Rook be more open and slowly introduce the detective to that world or would they be kept hidden from it until they can't any longer?
Would the detective even be the detective if he were alive and still in the position and if not, would they even meet UB in the first place since they are Rebecca's unit?

starting to have a way of processing my reaction for when i see what i call 'shallow hearts for shallow minds' takes on here like. do you not know how when you don't feel something at the time it catches up with you later? do we not understand the cumulative nature of nervous system stress and how. sometimes it gets worse before it gets better. sometimes getting better isn't about being happy, it's about feeling things as they come rather than trying to force yourself to be happy. making choices that will lead to the most happiness, even if they're painful at the time. i won't know exactly where an artist is at, neither do you, but I can trust that they're making the kind of decisions that are a step forward in self care in times where I see something that looks familiar and i'm like. i think i've been there. i know it doesn't make so much sense to everyone, but, that's what the fandom's for right?

#one piece#first of all i'm trans so i have an unholy amount of trans rage#but second of all it's fucking unbelievable how stupid oda is#i'm mad but also i think a Lot about trans narratives. i see them everywhere because i'm. y'know. trans but also TRANS NARRATIVES#okay i would rewrite one piece and the rewrite exclusively focuses on making sanji trans in a good way.#yeah i'm talking abt transfem sanji now#look if transfem sanji was a thing in the show it would not be a good thing. a lot of harmful stereotypes.#but i think there's such a golden opportunity that has been wasted by transphobia#because look#a character who in early childhood was only treated well by women and poorly by men#growing up surrounded by men#starts building up a fancy masculine facade with wearing suits all the time#and it's a fucking devastating blow to their whole ideals of character but they're stronger for it#once they build themself up brand new. trans trans transgender trans#look ok i know this isn't the place to get it and i know that the transphobia in the world would probably make this shit#but i want a story where. a longtime character slowly realizes they are trans. it's like with marco from star vs again i wanted it so bad#i just feel like every time i see a trans character it's post coming-out. which i also love. but the realization of true self#and the slow process of REMAKING YOURSELF. I understand being critical of remus but there's a real lack of understanding for his lycanthropy that comes as a reason for it on your blog. Kind of weird considering it's often depicted as an allegory for disability and the discrimination that comes with it
i mean,,,,that’s fair i guess? but i’m also gonna have to disagree for a bit there.
i don’t really touch the allegory part of it for…reasons but i’m gonna argue that i’ve never undermined it either. i do not like remus, but most of that is kept in dms and rant channels. what u guys see here is a very sanitised, nUaNcEd version of it. most of what i criticise him for is very like. individual choices he makes.
and ofc i realise that personal actions don’t exist in a vacuum, that those are informed by the structural conditions around him, but at most they can explain what he did, not justify it, yeah?
there’s hundreds of blogs out there that are real sympathetic to remus for precisely this reason. the entire reason i even started being critical was because THAT entirely ignored the fact that his behaviour had consequences for others. perhaps i swung too hard towards the other side but i think i keep it remarkably even here, on my blog at least, considering how much i actually dislike him lol

there are some pieces of media that i love a lot for a variety of reasons but most of the content on social media about it is ship related. and a lot of the time i like said ships as well but theyre not the reason something impacted me at all i want other kinds of content. but if i have to read a single analysis post from an online stranger that i disagree with i might start blowing people up with my mind

so dont get me wrong, “iris and the rogue dragonite” is a really, REALLY good episode. it does wonders for iris’s development and shows that she’s more in tune with her dragon powers, and she gets a new member on her team that’s finally a new dragon type. but i’m sorry, the episode and iris’s overall team would have worked so so much better if it was a hydreigon instead of a dragonite. im willing to die on this hill

Sorry but it's very funny to me to see a lamentation on the annoyance of fandom penned in earnest by a discourse blog. Like yeah after three years (or more) of literally inviting arguments on my blog I'd be a little tired of fandom too. I'm very often tired of it and I put my energy into ignoring it so I can have my own fun. But like. Being annoying about headcanons is arguably the point. It's at least a feature, not a bug. It's why I post to tags but don't go in them. They're full of brain dead takes. For every one I think is stupid and inflammatory there's someone who thinks I am also an idiot - or, as one put it, self righteous. Sure! Whatever! Literally everyone is annoying, this isn't new. That IS fandom. It's just really funny given the source. I don't even dislike the source. It's just. I'm not sure what opinion you expect to have of fandom when you make your blog a place for the worst of it to come argue directly in your inbox.

its like harry it was cool once or twice denying having public relationships but not acknowledging the clear aspects of it is annoying af
Absolutely 10000% like I get it but its just fucking irritating (and a bit irresponsible) at some point. Like especially with a fanbase like his just publicly acknowledging that you have a partner ESPECIALLY when its soooo publicized like they are out and about everywhere and everyone has their own takes and opinions on it like it wont make a difference if you state yeah that's my partner.
Like the crazies are gonna stay crazy but ffs especially in cases of his prior very publicized relationships I feel like if anything its damaging to not acknowledge it if anything because the women (and sure men too) he is seen with get like endlessly harassed and the least you can do is acknowledge that fact and idk not like leave them to the wolves.
Its just disappointing honestly like I much preferred his comments about it back in like 2017 or whenever where he talked about the central park pictures and like acknowledged the public aspects of that relationship and how it affected it that was a much more mature approach to it where this feels entirely ridiculous (and a bit disingenuous).

another thing that shows blue box only want () to make money is they get so many album versions compared to everyone else?
i feel (queencard) had 11 (!) album versions while the highest I’ve seen from any other cube group is 3 (love or take, wind and wish)
and while I think 11 is way too much it’s just wild how much effort they put into blowing up ()’s numbers and keeping them up with the market and then they still compare their other groups to () and the rest of the market at such a disadvantage.
another thing is pitigi (not sure about the others but I feel like they won’t be far off from pitigi) have sooo much less fansigns than the other groups they’re compared to, including other mid tier groups. of course a group with a fandom of the same size or slightly smaller will sell more albums when they literally have 10x as many fansigns as pitigi. 10x as many fan signs is also way too much both for artist health and for the environment, but that’s one sure way to inflate album sales that blue box will compare them to pretending the promotional difference doesn’t exist.

OK. . . seems i missed the whole 'chickens are controversial in splatoon' thing. . . why?
To put it short there's evidence both for and against them existing, and this is without me actually looking anything up so i might be missing something.
cases for chickens being extant: there's been chickens present in SOME form in several splatfests, they're not mammals so they're not NECESSARILY extinct, despite being domesticated animals and thus being unlikely to survive it doesn't mean it'd be IMPOSSIBLE because pigeons and other relatively human-dependent birds still survive in Splatoon, and of course there are many instances of Eggs being a staple in inkling culinary culture. egg is everywhere
cases for chickens being extinct: we only actually See chickens (or chicken, as in food) in splatfest art and splatfest dialogue which isn't (or at least definitely wasn't until Splatoon 3) canon-compliant at all. We havent actually seen chickens in-universe to my knowledge, nor had them mentioned outside splatfest. probably the biggest nail in the coffin is that there IS a chicken statue in Splatsville, and typically when there are big animal statues in the cities those are statues depicting extinct animals. this is something from an interview that touched on the crane and tortoise statues in Inkopolis Square; which also confirms that it wasn't JUST MAMMALS that suffered and went extinct, it was also other miscellaneous land animals and even random birds which I think me and initially a lot of other people thought were just. Fine and safe. But if a random bird like a crane can be extinct now then chickens are absolutely not safe just because they're not mammals. although eggs are in like every food it's not really been confirmed in any way that those are CHICKEN eggs (although that is the most likely), they could as well be farming domesticated pigeons or something
So really it's a big case of no real confirmation they DO exist, but also no real confirmation they DON'T exist, but also the only context we see them in-universe is in a context where every other animal depicted there IS extinct and it's like a lore thing. So the existence of eggs is a big hint TOWARDS them existing but could easily mean nothing whereas the other one is more in line with proving they do not exist. it is a very uncertain situation for the chicken
HOWEVER!!!!!! there is hope for the chicken. splatfests in Splatoon 3 have had more in-universe accurate themes and dialogue so far (meaning they dont randomly make up shit like "marina's landlord is a narwhal" and "inklings eat red meat" or whatever the fuck in that sea food vs mountain food one we didnt even have that one it was regional). SO THIS MEANS! in the next splatfest we Could get a somewhat stable answer to if chickens exist or not. of course the other 2 options are extinct animals whereas the chicken is 50/50. i'm HOPING the dialogue touches upon this fact and doesn't just talk about all of those like they just Exist. basically we are very close to some kind of progress on this issue that would be Somewhat credible because while splatfest dialogue has never been a credible source in the past, it has been WAY better in S3
TL;DR we just don't know. Chickens are a mystery
