Note
For the Descendants kids with horrible and trashy names, how would you name them? From books and movies.
So I'll just go ahead and give how I changed each name for My Canon Descendants AU, to make them feel more like their own character/fit better with the og movies time periods/cultures. I didn't give them all unique names as the point of the project was to translate the Descendants kids into the actual movies, not make full OCs, (though I did end up making a few of those anyway xD) but I tried to at least adjust them.
Mal--Mallow (to go with the Nature name theme the Three Good Fairies had going on with their own names/Briar Rose)
Audrey I kept as it was actually a Medieval name!
Evie-- Eva, it's a pretty easy fix to more period accurate/Germanic sounding
Doug -- Doleful, to fit better with the Dwarfs Attribute names, plus he seemed kinda down in the first movie so the meaning felt like it fit
Carlos I kept because honestly I felt like it could fit in universe if Cruella's husband was a Spanish man, which he conceivabley could be
Jay--Jaamil, and no not because of Twisted Wonderland that just happened by accident xD
They orginally had Aladdin's deleted sin be named Aziz but there was already an Aladdin character named that in the TV show who was a villain so I changed it to Ahmed, like one of the other Arabian Nights heroes
Ben--I changed from Benjamin to Benedict as that was more French/period appropriate
Honestly I could 100% see Gaston naming his sons after himself so I kept Gastons 1 and 2 but I changed Gil to Gilbert (French pronunciation of course)
Lonnie...oh Lonnie. I changed her name to Chi, as with her patronymic of Li she would be Li Chi, which sounded similar to Lonnie but would actually be Chinese and is the name of a girl in a Chinese legend who slays a dragon, which was what I based her hypothetical movie plot on
Chad I changed to Charles, easy enough. Much more elegant and formal
Jane I just changed to Janet to make it a little fancier/Frenchier as well xD
Dizzy I changed to Daisy (though I suppose since she's French based, it really should be Marguerite...eh Daisy can be the nickname)
Uma I kept cuz honestly its a good name and her song is a banger 👌
Harry is fine, good pirate name, short for Henry, which also works. Harriet was fine too, just made her and Harry twins and made CJ go by her first name only of Calista.
Honestly with a pirate dad named Smee Squeeky and Squirmy also work, though they're definitely nicknames.
Celia works fine, it fits with the time/culture of 1920s New Orleans, though I did change Freddie to Frederique.
Getting into some book characters now:
Artie I changed to Amhar, a lesser known son of Arthur (could have done Mordred but as the kid was meant to be heroic I decided to go with Amhar, plus it started with A x)
Mad Maddy honestly isn't a bad name, but I did change it to Matilda to be a bit more Medieval sounding, plus linked her to Matilda of the Night, a Medieval witch legend.
(And apparently there's gonna be a son of Morgana Le Fay in the new movie named... Morgie. My gosh. Well we'll change that right back to Yvain. Her actual son, no she's not Mordred's mother no matter what the movies try to tell you she's his aunt and I will die on this pedantic hill)
Hadie I instantly changed to Zagreus. He's the literal son of Hades and goodness its such a better name. Same with changing Herkie to Hyllus. Also an actual son of Hercules and doesn't sound like a euphemism for throwing up.
Allie I changed to Mary Jean after the Real Alice's grandaughter, and when I made my Queen of Hearts Kid D4 hadn't been announced yet so I named her Aceline (a pun on Ace of Hearts)
Ruby and Anxelin weren't terrible names so I kept them, just made Anxelin a Dark Kingdom name xD (and apparently they're giving Rapunzel a third daughter in the new movie? Her name is just Zellie though...so I think I'll just keep these two. Zellie could definitely work as being short for Anxelin and hey, Rapunzel had twins in the actual fairytale so two just works)
Wrapping it up:
Claudine isnt too bad and fits the time period but I changed her parent from Frollo to his brother Jehan cuz that man should never ever get to be with any woman.
Clay Clayton I changed to Cecil after the actual Clayton character in the books who wasn't that bad of a guy.
Yzla works fine as a name for Yzma's daughter. I just changed Zevon to Yzon to match better and not sound so much like he escaped the 23rd century
Ginny Gothel I just lengthened out to Ginevra to sound more fantastical
I didn't actually do anything for Pocahontas as it always kinda controversial to touch. But if I did I'd of course just make her descendant her actual son Thomas Rolfe and apparently they gave Ratcliffe a son named Rick? So...we'll change his name to Richard or--well one sec let me see if Actual Historical Governor Ratcliffe had any kids.
OK! Looks like he didn't but he did die horribly. My Gosh.

Ginny doesn't even know what she's feeling.
Mal was raised to be a perfect copy of her mother. But she doesn't want to be her mother, she hates her mother, but she doesn't know what else she is besides a mini-Maleficent, so she hates herself too. Anything that's close to her, she pushes away, rejects, makes them as unlike her as possible. She did it with Maddy. She did it with Uma. She would have done it with Evie, eventually, if they hadn't gone to Auradon.
The only way Jay ever earned his father's approval was through stealing. Even years later, he'll habitually steal little trinkets to gift to Lonnie without even noticing.
Evie doesn't know how to have any relationship with anyone that isn't seducing a prince.
Sammy Smee was raised in an violent environment full of anger and shouting. Even once he was on Harriet's ship, well, Harriet also gets angry, and also shouts, because she was raised in that same environment. Sammy can't understand anything that isn't like that.
Freddie and Celia don't trust anything that's for free. Everything has to be for something. Everything is in exchange for something. No one is simply "friends" with anyone, they have to be getting something out of it. It's only a matter of figuring out what, and making sure you won't be left at a disadvantage. (And it can be inferred that Freddie and Celia had one of the better childhoods on the Isle, so if this is their view on relationships, imagine everyone else's!)
Squeaky and Squirmy trust Sammy to be their provider, their teacher, their caregiver, and no one else. They don't know how to relate to anyone who isn't him. They just sort of shut down. Not with their father, who loved them but never tried to protect them, not like Sammy did. At least Sammy tried. Not with the Hook siblings, who were always getting involved in various dangerous shenanigans and who scare them, just the tiniest bit, even though they also help them and take care of them. No one but Sammy.
Dizzy....Dizzy has two examples: Anthony and Lady Tremaine. (Her mother never even pretended to love her. Her aunt was too beaten down to show it.) Anthony loves her, and everyone knows this. But Anthony was raised to be a lord on an Isle full of the dregs of society, an Isle where everyone ridicules those with pretenses to greatness. Yet his grandmother insisted, and he doesn't know how to show anything but his facade. He tells Dizzy he loves her, and he does, but he speaks coldly, strictly, harshly. He rarely, if ever, shows anger. No outbursts of emotion; hardly any emotion at all. No raising his voice. No playing games, no hugs, none of the things Dizzy would like to do. And Lady Tremaine....she really barely feels any emotion at all, not anymore. Of course she loves Dizzy, she says. She's her grandmother. What kind of grandmother wouldn't love her granddaughter? If only Dizzy would do her chores quicker, better, quieter. If only she would behave well. Then she would surely show Dizzy that she loved her, more than just saying "Of course I love you Dizzy" without even a smile and sending her off to the salon. Or so Dizzy believes, anyway. Anthony has inherited far more of his behavior and mannerisms from his grandmother than he would like to believe.
And Claudine. You see, Frollo usually does not lose his temper. He rarely shouts or rages. He prides himself on keeping perfect control on his emotions. And so Claudine doesn't associate loud noises or shouting with his anger. No, she associates frighteningly calm voices, in an even tone, with no expression, excoriating her with the harshest of words. And of course she thinks she should be hurt. Anyone who cares about her would hurt her as a punishment, so she should learn to do better. She doesn't like it, of course, but it's what has to be done, right? Right?

Yes I do! I haven’t interacted with the fandom in a few years but it used to be a major hyper fixation for me! Sorry if these aren’t the best I honestly haven’t watched the movies in a few years <3
- Carlos probably regresses to around 2-3
- he’s super clingy, especially to Evie (I mean you can’t tell me Evie wouldn’t just be the worlds best cg)
- sweetest little boy in the world, always smiling and blabbering to everyone he sees
- biggest sweet tooth ever. All sugar is kept out of reach.
- he gets supper talkative when he’s little
- he always wants to play wrestle with Jay, who is always super gentle because I mean, can you imagine what Evie would do if one of her babies was hurt?
- his big sister Mal (4 when she’s little) is super protective of him
- he loves physical affection and is always wanting to at least have his hand held
- gets a toy puppy who looks like Dude and brings it with him everywhere

"Do I have to wear this?" Harry complains to Bella as she helps him try on his suite for the Royal Wedding.
"Yes, you do. Not only because it's a wedding but it's your girlfriend's brother's wedding. Oh, and it's the King and Queen's wedding." She adds before giving him a kiss.
"Things I do for ya, Princess."
"Because you love me." She laughs at him. "Look at you. I say, I caught a big handsome one." She makes him face the mirror.
"You? I found the Heart of the Ocean. I say I win, Princess." He pulls her closer to him.
"Bella! Aren't you supposed to be helping Evie with the bouquet?" Audrey busts through the door.
"Oh, right. Umm, go spend time with Ben for me. Love you." Bella rushes out to go help Evie and sees how big it was. "Oh, my." She rushes over to help her. "Does it have to be this big?" She groans.
At the same time, Harry goes to find Ben, "Izzy told me to spend time with ya." He tells him once he finds Ben.
"Oh, she did?" Ben laughs.
"She did. Listen mate, you still seem to have a wee problem with me." Harry walks closer to him, "Why?"
"For starters you wanted to hook me and got upset when you didn't get to." Ben tells him.
"Oh, come on, King Benny. Your sister doesn't care." Harry rolls his eyes.
"You want the truth?"
"Duh." Harry gives him a look.
"I want what's best for my sister." Ben tells him the truth.
"I'm wearing a suit to your wedding to make her happy. If I had it my way, I wouldn't be." Harry laughs, "It's odd you have a problem with me but your parents love me with your sister. They know I make her happy."
"Just looking out for her."
"You know who you sound like right now? My younger sister, who did the same thing with Bella and I. Guess what... She realized the next day Bella actually cares for me." Harry tells him.
"I'm just more worried about her. The way she acts now and more vocal about not wanting to do things. And you encore her to do so. She has responsibilities, Harry." Ben huffs.
"What? She does those responsibilities. I give her pep talks for them. What I encore her to do is stand her ground and not get walked over." Harry says so Ben shuts up, "And who cares if she didn't want to do her royal responsibilities anymore? You're the King and when you and Mal have kids they will be in charge next. She's free to do whatever she wants technically."
"It doesn't work like that and I don't expect you to know that." Ben tells him.
"It can, look at me and other VKs... We're here now."
When Evie and Bella get to Mal with Dizzy the bouquet falls on with two. "Can you help us up please?" Evie asks the girls.
"Think the bouquet is big enough?" Mal asks.
"You'll need everyone to help you carry that or put a spell on it to move on its own." Bella gets off the floor.
"Fun fact. That bouquet is made up of every single flower grown in Auradon."
"Wouldn't be nice if people saw the dress too? Some people worked very hard on it. And I mean me. I'm some people." Evie walks up to Audrey.
"And the hair. Don't forget the hair." Dizzy jumps in.
"And some people have other things to worry about, like thousands of invites, food, flowers, seating charts, entertainment." Audrey starts to call about things that need to be done.
"Excuse me, Harry is calling me." Bella leave the room to answer her phone.
"Your brother hates me by the way and doesn't want me to be with you. So umm I left to finish getting ready." Harry lets her know.
"Wait, what?"
"Yeah, he's acting like CJ was with you." He laughs.
"I'll talk to him. Oh, speak of the devil I see him. Love you, bye." She ends the call, "What the hell, Ben?" She crosses her arms.
"Harry called you?"
"Yes, what's wrong with you?" She asks annoyed, "I really don't want t lo go through something I've already gone through with his sister with you now. So you can marry Mal but I can't date Harry?"
"Listen..."
She cuts him off, "No." She leaves going to see Harry and when she does he finds him chatting with her dad and mom.
"Hello, sweetheart." Belle smiles.
"I why aren't you two waiting for the wedding or with Ben?"
"Hades caused a little accident so... and Harry wanted to ask a question." Adam adds.
"Oh, did he add Ben doesn't want us together?" She walks over to Harry's side.
"He did which we told him to ignore since we adore him. He makes our baby happy." Belle smiles giving Adam a look.
"Yes, your mother is completely right."
"Okay, so what did you ask my parents?" Bella laughs looking up at Harry, "If they could put Ben in a time out?" She laughs more but Harry gets down on one knee.
"No, I ask for their blessing. Bella, the moment you stole from me, you stole my heart without knowing as well. Everyday I prayed for you to sneak over just so I could see you. I wanted that more than the barrier to come down. Back when Mal and Ben wanted to keep the barrier closed forever, I felt my heart break. I thought I would never get to see you again. I'm the luckiest pirate by finding the greatest treasure ever, you. Will you marry me?"
Bella was completely shocked never seeing this come anytime soon, "Yes!" She jumps up and down as he puts the ring on her finger then kisses her as her parents cheer. "Thank you two for giving him permission." She hugs her parents now.
"Of course, dear." Belle kisses her cheek.
"Anything to make you happy. And he obviously does and loves you." Adam hugs her tightly, "Do ignore your brother. He'll have to get over it since Harry will be his brother in law soon." He laughs.
"There's still plenty of time till the wedding so why do t you go share the news with your family, Harry." Belle tells him.
Harry holds his hand out to Bella so she takes it and they rush off to go to the Isle. When they get to his place Harriet was surprised to see them.
"Don't you have a wedding to attend to?"
"There's a little delay with things going on." Bella tells her.
"Dad, CJ, can you come here please." Harry calls out so they come into the room.
"What? I was watching this really good show and I can't pause it." CJ huffs crossing her arms.
"I just wanted to share that we are engaged." Harry says as Bella holds up her hand to show off the ring.
"Where the hell did you steal that from?" CJ rushes over taking Bella's hand to look at the ring.
"I didn't steal it, CJ. I had helping getting it. Oh, yeah, Evie said you would like this one the best." Harry lets Bella know.
"Evie helped you?!" She shouts taken back then looks at the ring, "She really does know me." She giggles.
"I'm so happy for you two." Hook walks over giving Bella a hug then his son.
"I thought he would take longer to propose." Harriet hugs the two as well.
"I wasn't planning on doing it today but Ben pissed me off so I did it early. I wanted to make sure he knows I love you and I'm good enough for you." Harry takes Bella's hands into his.
"And you are." Bella leans up to kiss him.

Prologue,Past before the Present
12 years ago…
“Belle, She’s getting too powerful, too dangerous.”
Beast says as he paces back and forth frustration showing in his expression
“What else are we supposed to do, she's our daughter..”
Belle says looking at her husband with pleading eyes infested with guilt
“We can't just send her away! It's not right.”
Belle says fear creeping into her chest at the thought of letting her daughter go.
Beast’s head perks up, turning around to look at his wife.
She can see his expression as he turns to look at her.
“No..”
She says as her tears threaten to spill from her eyes.
He sighs
“There is somewhere but no one will like it, especially you..”
He says averting his gaze from hers
“Adam…”
She says dread covering her expression from the look on his face.
“She’ll forget about us” she says voice breaking looking at her husband
“Maybe that’s for the best” He says walking to hold his crying wife
2 hours later…
They arrived at The Barrier entrance of the Isle getting out of the limo, they quickly walked to the Barrier, Beast holding his daughter.
He handed Rose to Belle before walking to the man in front of him.
“Gaston, this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. Take care of her, please? ”
He said holding back tears
“Be the father she needs you to be.”
Beast says looking at his daughter
“I won’t promise she’ll turn out all that great but, I will take care of her. I promise.”
Belle sets Rose down and grabs her hand walking towards the two men
“There’s the little rose herself”
Gaston says smiling down at her
Beast sighed as he knelt down to tell his daughter goodbye.
“Alright petal”
He says a tear rolling down his cheek hearing his wife silently sob
“You’re going to go visit Gaston for a while..”
He says seeing the confusion on her face
“I love you for evermore..”
He hugs her gently taking in his last moments with her
Belle walks over falling into her daughter’s embrace
Pulling away from the hug she looks her daughter in the eyes
“Don’t let anyone steal the love I gave you..because you’ll need it when you come back”
She said tears rolling down her face
Rose looks at her mother confused at the tears in her eyes
“Mommy I don’t want to go! What about Benny!?”
She said stomping her feet
Belle couldn’t look at her daughter's tears anymore, getting up and turning to Beast quickly burying her face into his chest
The force field opened just enough for Rose to walk through
Grabbing Gaston by the hand as she looked back at her parents
“Come on little thorn, we’ll be okay..”
Gaston says, smiling down at her as the force field closes behind her
When Rose walked through the barrier a gust of wind blew through the air and suddenly she couldn’t remember why she had tears rolling down her face and why her and her “dad” were walking them away from the barrier
12 years later
( Bens POV)
As I stand on a platform getting my suit tailored
My parents walk in
“How is it possible you're going to be crowned king next month? You’re just a baby”
My dad says making me roll my eyes
“Hes turning 16 dear” My mom says playfully hitting his arm
“Mom, Dad” I say finally getting the courage to tell them my plan
“I have chosen my first official proclamation”
I say as my parents look at eachother excited
Deep down i know they won't be so excited once they hear what i'm about to say
“I have decided that the kids on the Isle of the Lost be given a chance to …” i take a deep breath before continuing
“To live here in Auradon” i finish
I can see they are shocked but i continue with the rest of my plan
“We just start with a few at first, and I know you are hesitant, but everyone deserves a second chance. Mom gave you one Dad.”
“Who are their parents” My mom asks
“Cruella De Vil , Jafar , The Evil Queen, Maleficent, and Gaston”
My parents gasp at his name
Something unspoken washes over their faces
But before they can tell me no i say
“Please, their children are innocent, they deserve a fighting chance”
My mother looks at my father with what looks like hope in her eyes
“I suppose the children are innocent” my mom gives my father a slightly sad smile before giving me a kiss on the cheek and walking out on the room
I hear them say something about Gaston as they walk away, still unsure about their expressions when he was brought up.
I stand there just hoping hey can put their differences aside at least for the kids
Ps. i never thought this would see the light of day, but here we go
