xxx some misconceptions abt my angel routinely come up in plotting & interactions, so thought i'd talk abt him some to put it out there!:

angel loves his job. being a sex worker brings out the best in him & it's not a shameful occupation he was forced into, needs to be saved from, or is a direct cause to any of his grief. yes, he is overworked & his talents are unjustly exploited but in no way that's worse than any other occupation due to its sexual nature. the angle of the ' poor destitute prostitute ' peeves me kinda massively actually & i really don't vibe with ooc whorephobia.

angel is VIOLENT & RECKLESS. blood & gore doesn't make him squeamish. weapons don't make him squeamish. he's not offput by slaughter & often engages in it himself. he has a severe sadomasichistic streak, a high pain tolerance, & the ability to shed & regrow limbs due to his insect - like physicality. it also takes a LOT to actually make him afraid of physical violence, bc in his mind nth holds a candle to things he's already experienced. on that note!

angel is PROTECTIVE of his relationship with valentino. not because it's a good thing, by any means. but because ( depending on the valentino muse in question ) valentino is and remains to be an important figure in his life for better or worse. whether they were past lovers or strictly have a working relationship, angel's relationship with valentino is closely tied to his own identity & success. he won't hate on him or tolerate such things easily. ( also this popular notion of treating valentino like a hate sink isn't super fun for me. for angel, it's Personal with a capital P )

angel doesn't quite look like he does in canon. i'm not much a stickler on this, but throughout the time i've mused and drawn him, my angel's come to look a little different. primarily, he sports a vibrant pink & curly hair, so please don't describe him as white or pale

he's a cis man with a passion for drag as a lifestyle. gender expression is an intimate part of his identity, but the same - sidedness of his own gender isn't something he's ever doubted. the validity of certain parts of himself that make him a man? absolutely. his sexual identity & gender expression are central themes to his character. but he's never had that deep, internalized wish to cross over. he celebrates his own personal gender expansion but dabbling in things considered ' feminine ' doesn't mean he's ever considered himself a woman ( & being called such isn't smth he likes )

i think i’ve said this before but i do really wish i could tell some of my friends how i feel about that boy bc they’re very open with each other at this point about their interpersonal relationships etc however if more than the two people who currently know abt my deal find out i feel like the world will end. so that’s unfortunate.

oh this is so sweet, thank you! this is a difficult question!

to be honest, i think the one i'm most proud of is dear your holiness, just because i feel like the plot was the most cohesive and it deals with some of the rough things i was dealing with at the time, so it still gives me the same sort of visceral responses to those scenes

that being said, i'm the sort of narcissist that goes back and reads her own fics for fun because, ultimately, i wrote them for myself to read in the first place lol so i have favorite pieces of all of them

That would be Atmospheric Light by Celldweller. Though this track in particular is a promo/unreleased version of the official song. But this one is special to me and I have very good memories of it. (You can actually see one of my comments on this video I left about a year ago lol) I've been listening to this song for over 10 years and every time it plays it just brings me back to a chill - though hectic and stressful - but also good time of my life; a slice of peace among rough waters so to speak. 💖

20. A song that has many meanings to you 💭

That one would be Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden This is a song I've known and loved since childhood.It holds a near and dear spot in my heart. It always made me think of loving someone with all that you are, reminded me of my relationship with my mom; how we'd sing this song together driving in her car, just me and her, recording this song on a cassette tape and replaying it on every drive. Imagining loving and living until the end of your days, the end of it all. A time of innocence and hope, when everything was bright and I could look to the future with confidence. Granted, life has been hard, and I may not be where I want to be now and how I imagined myself in the future - I've fallen and stumbled, lost myself and my way so many times. But I'm still here. And I'll stay here, living and loving, truly, madly, and deeply 💖💚 Though a close, near tie number 2 is Follow Me by Uncle Kracker for just about the same reasons above - it was very hard to pick between them so I'm including it anyway lol.

That'd be Hated By Life Itself covered by Mafumafu, (original by Kanzaki Iori) I'd recommend turning subtitles on for this one as it's in Japanese. But, this song just screams 'life' from the very first line. It's raw, powerful. It captures the pains, struggles, and emptiness about life while regardless of it all, living on as best we can, even if we say we hate our lives. Killing, laughing, struggling, living. i’m not gonna sit here and try to excuse any of Vincent’s bad traits or explain them with his tragic past, because he’s just a genuinely bad person who gradually got worse overtime. so when i say he’s a walking red flag i really mean it.

unresolved rage from the very early age, the powerlessness behind it turned him into a very angry and bitter man; he sees things for what they are – a realist – who lives in a really angry and brutal world and so he acts accordingly, assimilates, naturally picks up the characteristics of the cruel city and nasty people living in it.

not saying he’s easily manipulated or influenced, it’s just his ability to adapt, find balance, a solution to living in such harsh conditions. and the longer he lived, the more desensitized, emotionally-stunned and cold his mind and heart became, the more irritated and impatient he was with people.

his brutal nature fully surfaced in his late 20s while in the army, where he’s been praised and encouraged, congratulated for a slaughter well-done. years of lies, deceit, secret military operations and shady dirty work only gave him trust issues, caused him to become more guarded, mistrusting; but on the other hand forced him to vow never to lie himself, deeming liars the worst sort of humanity.

proud and controlling – traits he developed as a way to feel in control of his own feelings, of the things and people around him.

while envious of other people's happiness, achievements greater than his he never let money get to his head. he does not kill for monetary value, sees it rather as any other job just much more risky than a regular 9-5. he lives rather humbly, spending his earnings on his job – to better himself, his equipment, his work. while he allows himself to splurge on expensive items he values the quality of the product or service over the price tag and the right to brag about it.

years of mercenary work turned him very critical and patronizing towards young mercs – kids, as he calls them – especially those who foolishly try and follow in his footsteps, too blinded by the glory and fame that comes after. truth be told he’s scared of losing his position on the top of the food chain, fears being forgotten and thrown into the gutter, dying of old age with no memory of him imprinted anywhere. he hates the idea of all his hardships, years of gruesome work going to waste.

not that he aimed to change anything in this world, but he doesn’t want to be a Mr. Nobody, not in a city where being Somebody means dying satisfied, without regrets.
