just as there's something worth noting about how both D20 and CR have lately had strong messages about how fear and resentment makes you easy to radicalize, I think there's also something for how they've both had cases of mortal politics ultimately affecting the nature of the gods. Not just for an understanding of fictional D&D gods as living entities, though that's also valuable, but for an understanding that ultimately, these are concepts shaped and changed by people; people desired conquest and so made Ankarna into a god that supported that. I've repeatedly said and will continue to maintain that while Brennan does hate capitalism, the theme he consistently returns to is the much deeper one of "the bad people are those who exploit and dehumanize others in the service of their goals" and jokes about capitalism as the BBEG aside, if you destroy any one concept's physical manifestation, you still have to contend with the people who upheld it.

So the episode is over and I am stuck on the giant green glass column that spans a mile and more vertically of this underground city.
Because the first thing I said when it was described, before we found out the Weave Mind (I'm assuming that's the 5 minds) are inside of it, was: "That's a big-ass trammel."
... And then I thought about it.
...
So, what if? What if that's literally what it is.
A giant trammel piercing through the crust, piercing Predathos. Probably one of a few.
But maybe you only need to pull out one to release a god-eater from its binds.
Perhaps the Ruidian flares, said to be ushered in by the Weave Mind themselves, are their attempts to pull the trammel out.
The flares are getting more frequent, more powerful, because of an increase in their attempts, and the aid being given to them through the Ruidusborn and Ludinus.
If it's true, if this ties into the lore from all the way back in the last arc of C1 I'm going to scream.

hey uh
this whole ‘magic methods of imprisonment are failing’ thing...
what about the primordials almost unleashed by Avalir’s fall?
what does this mean for the Rites of Prime Banishment?
Pelor was involved in both occasions the Rites were used (direct architect and fighter for one, provided the basic insight and one bead of divinity for the other), and we know from Deanna that his influence is... shaky, compared to usual. Let alone the influence of the Allhammer and Ioun.
Are the chains that bind Tharizdun and Vecna weakened?
Are we facing down a situation where the over-arching villains of the last two campaigns might either be the first things devoured by Predathos, or play a hand in weakening him if they lash out first?
Which is worse?

When Keyleth said that about “Rushing head first invites disaster but taking too long risks not being there to stop it”
I just KNOW she was thinking about the battle in the shadowfell and how if Vox Machina had been a little quicker perhaps they could’ve avoided it, Vecna would have never ascend in the first place and Vax would still be alive

the only thing that would make me change my mind on a plot about dorian wanting to kill the gods being uninteresting is if he tries to go the route of "but what if we got predathos to only kill the betrayer gods and leave the good ones alone?" because at least then we could get a good convo about punitive justice or whatever.

First of my pieces for the @artists-guild-of-exandria Deity project, Thar Amphala, in its home plane the Shadowfell!
Hope I managed to capture its gloomy and spooky vibe!
