When I looked at this prompt all I could think of was that scene in part 2 where Straizo shoots his laser eyes attack and Joseph just barely dodges the grunt of it, Neo style!!

I didn't want to completely copy the scene, so I decided to draw it from a completely different, never seen before angle and I am SUPER happy with how it turned out!!

Had this thought for a while, thought you might enjoy.

AU where, at the end of Stardust Crusaders, when Joseph gets the transfusion with DIO's blood, he actually becomes a vampire himself. Joseph would probably be around for Part 4, aside from any technical sunlight difficulties. Might make it easier when the person who's stand can literally find people is actually aware enough to understand what it means.

It could also be pretty angsty for Jotaro, who literally just accidentally turned his grandpa into the same kind of being that just killed him, and by extension, nearly killed his mom.

You're right in how Jotaro's going to feel absolutely awful about it, and Joseph's age is really just going to make it so much worst. Joseph's old, he's lived his life and he was happy with it. He had regrets yes, but he was content to live out the rest of his days in peace

but this throws a huge wrench in those plans. The whole reason he stopped practicing Hamon was so he could grow old alongside his wife, but now age is essentially meaningless. The fact he can still die is a bit comforting, but it weighs on him that unless there's a fight that goes wrong, he's going to have to make the choice to stop living and that's terrifying

now, while vampire aging seems to stagnate upon being turned, we've also seen that vampires are able to rejuvenate themselves when they drink blood. So when Joseph eats, there's a pretty likely chance that by the time Part 4 looks around, he could look like he did in his 20s, and that's just going to eat at him even more. It's definitely going to give a lot of people whiplash at how wise and collected he can be despite looking like someone not even out of college

things with Josuke are going to be......a bit awkward, especially since Joseph looks barely a few years older than he is, but Hermit Purple is going to be very helpful with Joseph essentially in his prime. Hell, Jotaro and Joseph might even slightly swap roles with Joseph being the one to show up first in town and then Jotaro being called in when they realize this is a bit more than Joseph can handle by himself

Hi, it's me! The anon who submitted the vampiric Joseph AU. Wanted to share a few more ideas that I had.

Basically, the whole world thinks Joseph actually died in Cairo. It checks out considering everything else that had happened there, plus there were probably some eye-witness accounts to DIO attacking him. All company stuff went to Suzi Q, maybe Holly too? She's not a business person, but I see her helping out where she could. Joseph still runs it, just with Suzi Q being sort of a stand-in for him.

In regards to this with Josuke, he doesn't know for a while that the person who's been helping him out is actually his father. I guessed that with having to make a will so suddenly, somehow Josuke was discovered way earlier than the beginning of Part 4. I had it where he was sort of just this unknown person that helped Josuke out when he was in danger, especially when he was younger. (Plus he probably got some good inheritance money. Dad points? It's like a +0.5 point.)

Also, totally right with Holly. Especially with more interaction with Josuke here, I can't help but feel Joseph has a lot of guilt regarding his wife, even if one of those situations wasn't his fault. He'd be very lost. All he wanted was a life with her, and to die with her. And now he's stuck to make this decision on his own, with the only way to do so being the most painful options he could imagine.

Definitely think that fight with Straizo also messes with his head a lot more. He knows it's possible to still use hamon, and that thought weighs heavy on his mind.

Sorry for the long ask! Have a lot of thoughts, thank you so much for replying to my initial ask!

I love the idea of Joseph faking his death. It was going to happen eventually, might as well take advantage of the opportunity now since it'll be easiest. He does what he can to help Suzie and Holly with everything, and all things considered he's still running the company. Suzie becomes almost like a puppet ruler in some ways with people not realize Joseph's still working behind the scenes

also if I may raise an idea for Joseph vibing around before Part 4 canon: what if Joseph ends up learning about Josuke and sorta..... moves in to Morioh. It's only about a year or so before canon, but Joseph wants to be there for the son he apparently had. The talk with Suzie was...... rough to say the least, and he knows he deserved it but it still hurt. He was ashamed of his actions, but he also didn't want this kid to suffer because of it. The kid might've gotten sick like Holly did all those years ago and have a Stand without any guidance for all he knew!

Suzie is luckily understanding. Upset yes, but she can respect Joseph's decision at the very least. Plus...... she needs a bit of time right now. It's not a divorce, but just..... right now she needs to work through these emotions and this breaking of trust. It hurts Joseph a lot, but again he saw this coming, recognizes he kinda deserves it, and respects her wishes

(Joseph does have to deal with the black pit in his stomach for a while because we have so little time left we need to solve this now if we don't one of us could die and then we'll be left angry and grieving and confused and regretting how the last thing we did was fight but at the same time he knows that if he forces it, he'll just fuck things up further and he CANNOT do that)

so Joseph becomes Josuke's New And Kinda Weird But Overall Really Fun Neighbor. Josuke absolutely loses it when he realizes Joseph has a Stand, and he's able to give the kid a lot of guidance about the Stand World in general

and for a pinch of angst........ Joseph not telling Josuke he's his father. He tells himself he will. That he's just waiting for things to settle down, waiting for Josuke to be comfortable with him, waiting for the right moment...... but deep down he knows that's never going to come. He's ashamed he wasn't able to be there for Josuke's life, ashamed to call himself a father because of his actions, but most importantly he's terrified of how Josuke will react. The kid has every reason to hate him, and as selfish as it may be Joseph doesn't want to lose him

but then of course things start to go sideways when the Arrow makes an appearance in Morioh :)

Thinking about how Jotaro Kujo is The Tragic Character™️ of JJBA. Araki simply cannot let that man be happy. He fr said “you can fit so much trauma into this bad boy”!

His entire life was so tragic that we all knew he was going to die, eventually.

His Mother’s life was endangered and on the journey to save her he gains significant trauma from people trying to KILL him and then lost three friends at the ripe old age of 17.

He goes to University, meets a woman he falls in love with, and has a kid. realizes that as long as there’s a threat of enemy stand users wanting revenge for Dio his family will never be safe so he has to leave his family behind and distance himself.

Became a older brother/father figure to Josuke but had to leave him because he knew he would bring enemy stand users into that poor boys life- the only Joestar that had a somewhat of a shot at being normal.

Then in part 5 it’s revealed that when he got separated from Polnareff, Diavolo paralyzed Polnareff. He’s probably carrying guilt from that. He’s also probably stressed asf at first that the son of the vampire who tried to adamantly kill him is just out there somewhere. Thank god Giorno took after Jonathan 😭.

Then in part 6, he had to face his failures as a father, understanding that he didn’t deserve and probably would never get Jolyne’s forgiveness, but it’s so clear to me that Jotaro wanted to be there for her. But of course, to him, the only way he can protect people is to push them far away from him. He never learned that he is stronger in numbers because whenever he was in numbers, someone he loved got hurt.

Jotaro never understood he deserved the happiness of a loving family.

He couldn’t even save his daughter (and he dies believing that Jolyne hates him because he knows he’s a shit father AND WAS OK WITH IT AS LONG AS SHE GOT TO LIVE 😭😭😭) in the process.

He’s a Greek Myth type of sadness.

I poked around some fics about Jotaro and Giorno meeting for the first time, and in a lot of them the two eventually sit down in an office to Talk. And it got me thinking, how else they could meet

Like what if there was a pretentious Venetian masquerade ball that SWF sent Jotaro to attend because, I dunno, someone found the Red Stone of Aja that Joseph lost and it's up for auction there. And Giorno as Don was also at the masquerade to meet important people.

And then everyone on the masquerade got trapped there because.... uh...... Rival Italian Stand User Mafia hijack the party to steal the treasures and take all these important/rich attendees hostage.... or something.

Also Josuke, Okuyasu, Yukako and Koichi are there. For vacation. They totally were not supposed to be at the Fancy People Party but they snuck in anyway
