Utah has just become the first state to approve online age verification laws, meaning minors cannot use social media without parental consent and cannot use social media at all past 10:00pm until 6:00am. ID information will be required for age verification.

The new law comes into effect may 3rd, but many sites have already began blocking Utah connections in protest.

This bill will put minors in danger. This bill will put queer people in danger. This bill is the first step to revoking rights from anyone in this state that the government decides.

Please help me help my state, contact Governor Cox via email or phone and voice your concerns about personal privacy breaches as a result of this bill.

{May 17 2023}

In April 2011, I withdrew from Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) due to mental health issues. I had plans to study English and eventually move to University of Utah to study Creative Writing there.

That following October, I signed up for Cosmetology School, and graduated from it in September of 2013.

Now, 10 years later, I have been re-accepted into SLCC. I am going in to study ASL, maybe I'll even make it into their ASL Interpreter program. There's a lot of feelings in me: fear, imposters syndrome, and excitement.

I know one thing for sure though, and that is my dog is already jealous of the amount of time she thinks school will take away from her.
