CIRCLE TIP:
I know books from the seventies would have you believe otherwise, but you don't have to mentally hold circle for the whole ritual, and you don't have to physically mark the whole circle boundary, nor do you need a coven member to hold space. You can put regular old rocks at each of the cardinal directions along the walls of your room or along the outer perimeter of the sacred space and use those as anchor points for the energy you lay.
Start by gathering, cleansing, and sanctifying/consecrating/blessing/charging/whatever four stones of any shape and size that suits your needs. Larger stones are good if you want them to be a visible reminder of the boundaries of circle, but smaller ones are good for discretion. Anoint them with a protection oil if you'd like (I only recommend doing this if you are using them indoors with no animals around), and/or pencil protection sigils on them. Cast circle but make sure your energy hits each stone and runs through it. If you call in the quarters, invite them to reside in their respective directional stones. Boom, done, now you have an easily marked sacred space that doesn't need constant maintain.
And, fun fact, circle doesn't HAVE to be round. Round is easiest when you're using mental energy to hold the space, but if you use physical barriers like existing walls then your cast energy resides in that physical block and is held automatically. I especially love doing this as a quasi-permanent marker to sanctify an entire room because any doorways become defacto entrances/exits that spiritually open and close when physically opened and closed.
Okay but isn't this being lazy? NO you rude hypothetical, it's not. It's being resourceful. Using these physical anchors allows a solitary practitioner to put their focus towards other things. I use this method when I'm studying magic texts, or so I can hang out with my ancestors and spirit friends casually for extended periods of time, or if I am going to be attempting astral projection. And by "I use this method," I mean it is one of the permanent protections I have in place in my home.
Has anyone else tried this? Please share any experiences or circle hacks you might have!

I know the "not everything is a sign" thing is brought up and passed around Witchblr as a reminder semi frequently but... Not everything is a sign you guys.
Tonight I couldn't sleep because a pair of owls were having a very loud chatter, one being off in the woods somewhere and one in my front garden, right outside my bedroom window.
Of course, I go into a little diving pool of owl behaviour because while I've heard them here before it's never been this close and I don't know much about owls in London.
Immediately - "Hearing two owls means that you're receiving an important spiritual message uwu".
Or, how about this- the most common species of owl in this city is the Tawny Owl. A species that stays in pairs all year round and roosts in woodland and parks. I happen to live next to some urban woodland (now there's an oxymoron).
In different circumstances hearing an owl, or a pair of owls could be a sign. I'm sure if I saw or heard an uncommon owl in broad daylight, I'd take a moment to consider symbolism and connotations. But the most common owl species for my city, vibing in an area that fits their typical roosting grounds to a T, at two am?
Regular animals doing regular animal things don't necessarily mean something is calling out to you. Not everything is a sign and true signs are rarely that subtle.

Winter crops on my balcony in the early morning light.
The kale is really coming along, I think I will be able to start harvesting soon. I am one of those freaks that actually enjoys kale too, so this is great news.
I’m having less luck with the spinach which is historically accurate. Like basil before it, it seems to be one of those plants that just wants nothing to do with my clumsy kill-it-with-kindness gardening.
Very excited to see baby mizuna, radishes and rocket poking their little heads up out of the freshly potted soil.

Fairy Garden for Urban Witches
I live in an apartment in the center of one of the biggest metropolises in my country. I'm trying to grow some herbs on my balcony but I don't have much experience or skill at gardening yet, so I wouldn't exactly say I have access to a garden. But I still want to work with nature spirits in my home—wildpet spirits, elementals, herbal spirits, flower fae, etc. Hmmm.
How about some witch(arts and)craft!
I consecrated this collage and performed a small ritual to invite in the fae and nature spirits I work with, that they might have a nice gathering place for fellowship and festivities.
I made an offering of the art itself as well as some shiny rocks, an old ring of mine, and some charged incense. I wrote a formal invitation and threw a little party for any fae that might want to check out the space without committing to staying. (If anyone wants details about how I set up the ritual feel free to ask.)
UPG, but I spoke to The Green Fairy of Wormwood and she gave me a few instructions I have to follow before she feels comfortable recommending this space to the other spirits, but her requests were super reasonable—I'm looking forward to the follow-up gardening and crafting, and soon I think I may have fae residing in my collage notebook!

My art block caused by war and evacuation is almost gone. I've left Ukraine with two bags: one with my underwear, some food supplies and medicine, and the second - with my dog's stuff. But some time ago I've reunited with my workshop - all these beads, metal and glass components, my pile of gemstones - here in Prague (the biggest of thanks to the volunteers!). And now I can create and tell my beaded stories again. Thank you, my lovely followers who stayed with me. Welcome, dear new followers. I have something to show you, I promise 🌿

Poppets :D
Generally, Poppets are effigies meant to represent a specific person, but you can get very creative with them.
1. Different Subjects: Poppets don’t have to be on humans. Instead they can be for your pets or homes or even more abstract things like businesses.
2. Different Mediums: Everyone has heard of the cloth or paper dolls used for poppets, but truly anything can be sculpted into a effigy, or assigned that person’s identity. This ranges from sculpting a poppet from clay, or naming a brick after that person. Other ideas include pumpkins, potatoes, balloons. Anything you can cast an intention on. Your selection is a great way to boost your intention as well, and should be considered before casting.
3. Different Intentions : For me at least, finding the right way to cast an intention can be difficult. Simply putting a few banishing herbs around a paper doll doesn’t have the same feeling as naming a soda can after someone and throwing in in the distance, never to be seen again. So consider how you interact with your poppet and how best to cast your spells.
More examples of unique poppet spells include :
Putting bandaids on it for health
Adding lips to it for communication
Leaving it around your garden for fertility
Hanging it with your keys to open new opportunities
Leave it in your fridge to chill out
Leave it in a bowl of candy to sweeten
And many more ✨
