I really like that they made Jor-El speak Kryptonian and Clark unable to understand him. The whole "aliens speak English" thing that happens in every goddamn media has bothered me all my life. Ik sometimes Clark just gets zapped in the brain for insta-second language but that always felt like a cheap shortcut.

Jor-El had a lot on his mind when he set up that magic spaceship okay. The world was ending and he was trying to do as much as he could before time ran out so he could be there for his son. He was rushing. He likely didn't consider Kal would be raised with a whole different language and not know any Kryptonian nor have anyone to teach him.

Concept: The reason the botw Champions' abilities are no longer accessible isn't because they moved onto the afterlife or whatever. Mipha specifically wouldn't have wanted to leave Link.

What if they were with him the whole time, until that whole disaster with Ganon under the castle. Link didn't just lose an arm, most of his life force and energy – the Champion's spirits would've tried to protect him in that moment, and would've probably just been obliterated along with everything else.

They gave themselves up to save Link, because they would, of course they would, without hesitation. But they're not in the afterlife now, they're just gone. Completely erased from existence.

And Link feels their loss just as much as that of Zelda, perhaps even more. At least she's still out there, in some way. But his four closest friends, the nearly only people he had left from his past that he – if barely – remembers, whose presences he's felt with him constantly for the past five years? There one moment, gone the next. And nothing can ever bring them back.

You miss their abilities? Imagine what Link feels like.

The Jor-El A.I. looked so sad when he realized Clark doesn't understand Kryptonian.

HE DID he was trying so hard to connect to him and explain who he is and Clark just can't understand him and he presumably can't understand Clark either 😭 idk how well the AI can perceive time and emotions etc/how much of Jor-El he is, but he was created for one single purpose and spent years laying dormant waiting and now that Clark is finally here he just,, can't.

And if it's at least in some part Jor-El's consciousness rather than a full emotionless AI that looks like him (since usually it is) that's his SON and they don't even share a language. Kal-El who he loved so much that he did all he did to save him from a dying planet, and he's alive, he really survived, but he was raised by strangers (and bless them for it) on a strange planet with strange customs and now they can't even communicate. Jor-El can't tell him about Krypton, his people and his own family, and he can't ask Clark about how his life has been on earth either. Can't even ask him if he's happy. Clark has no idea where he's really from and no way to find out because the only one who might be able to tell him speaks a language no one on the whole planet can understand.

The sheer loneliness of it is ripping a hole into my heart and I'm not even there.
