finally.. the long awaited doughnut theory of mine, before i start im gonna tell yall that a theory isnt smth canon, and everyone sees it differently. so this is my theory!

Music videos you need to watch so it makes sense: Doughnut, Kura Kura, Better

Better MV

Since this mv only has one scene that in my opinion fits my theory im gonna do it first (pls watch the mv before reading this, the scene is with dahyun rather in the end)

So we all know that the better mv was released wayyy before doughnut, but there is this one scene with dahyun that i first havent even noticed when i watched the mv, but the second i saw it i knew somehow that it fits my theory well.

Im talking about the scene where dahyun puts her finger over her mouth, in a way to maybe signal us to be quiet?

But why should we be quiet? Is smth gonna happen years after the mv? What is she planning on doing?

Doughnut MV

obviously, this mv is the most important. again, please watch it before reading this part. (im gonna try and keep it short)

Very important is the guy in the mv, pay attention to who he meets (Tzuyu's phone call doesnt count, ill explain later)

Members that met the guy: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Chaeyoung.

All the members i have just mentioned are dead.

Killed by the guy, I dont really know why he did that.

"But Tzuyu called him!" Yes he called him, but you cant realistically kill someone over a telephone call.

Now to the most important people: Dahyun, Jihyo and Mina (Tzuyu is important too, but she doesnt play a big role in the doughnut mv)

Dahyun and jihyo:

These two have smth going on in the mv its weird, maybe its jealousy, maybe something else im not sure. But what im sure about is that Dahyun murdered Jihyo.

You can see that in the scene where Dahyun does the finger pistol thing and Jihyo falls down on the ground of a place that has similarity to the.. heaven?

The bridge part:

The way Dahyun sings her lines and first she looks proud, happy, but she suddenly looks like she has no emotions? no smiling or anything.

in my opinion, this shows her guilt, her realising "i killed jihyo".

this isnt really important to my theory, but i find it weird how michaeng are the only members that "clearly" have a scene together (ofc they sang together but still...) maybe chae is trying to warn her? maybe mina is trying to warn chae?

The scene changes to jihyo singing her high note.

What can you see on her white dress?

Something that looks like someone shot her (dahyun's fingerpistol while aiming at jihyo?)

the wound is shaped like an heart, maybe dahyun killed her out of love?

The camera goes through jihyo, and who do we see?

Dahyun eating the doughnut in the beginning at the crime scene where mina was.

"But what does that mean?"

Guilt.

In her bridge part, she realised she actually killed jihyo, her solution? Killing herself by eating a poisonous doughnut.

so thats how dahyun died.

"What about Mina?"

Mina is alone in the whole mv (except the table scene and the michaeng scene), she wanders around, sometimes she is running.

It looks like she is searching for something. But for what? Her dead friends?

Everyone died except Mina and Tzuyu in the mv, until...

and again, please watch the mv before reading this part.

only a few scenes in this mv are important for my theory.

dahyun sitting under a tree and eating grapes.

just saying it like this sounds dumb, but if you know a little of religion then it is odly familiar.

(im not an expert on this so sry if its wrong)

adam and eve had the same thing just with apples,being not allowed to eat them bla bla bla but eve does it anyway.

meaning = she sinned.

what did dahyun do? killing jihyo, a sin (obviously)

survivors guilt:

definition: Survivors guilt is a particular kind of guilt that develops in people who have survived a life-threatening situation. Some survivors feel guilty that they survived when others died. Others believe they could have done more to save the lives of others.

"Who couldve had survivors guilt?"

Tzuyu.

Why else is she killing herself in the kura kura mv? Drowning herself after everyone died and only her and Mina survived.

Leaving Mina completly alone.

The whole kura kura mv shows mina alone, her sitting alone in a cafe.

when she leans against a wall, it cracks. Why?

Because she has no one behind her, no one to help her.

All the TWICE members die except Mina.

Ayy i finally did it!!!! this was fun ngl...

i hope yall enjoyed it, i kinda feel like an nerd bc im so invested in twice lore its crazy.....

i left out some things (for example the way jeongyeon was trapped in both doughnut and kura kura mv) since i didnt wanted to make it too long and in my opinion some of the things are not that important for my theory so...

TWICE - DOUGHNUT M/V THEORY

- before i start, i want to say that this is my theory, so you can have different theories :)

so, basically the mv tells the story about 8 women getting killed by one guy. i will get into the details with screenshots from the mv.

first, we see nayeon in a doughnut shop. she's on a date with the murderer (there are 2 doughnuts which tells us that she isnt alone.) the guy poisoned her with a doughnut. (1/8)

second, sana is seen on a date with him. she is so in love with him that she doesnt even realize the hint on the tv. (hint: the girls are in heaven) she eats the doughnut and dies. (2/8)

then, we see momo playing with a snowman. she is in heaven but she still loves him, she made the snowman which represents the guy. also the guy poisoned her too (3/8)

we see jeongyeon on the shop too. she's probably with him because there are 2 cups. (4/8)

meanwhile, mina is seen running in a loop. first, she's happy but then she releases that something's off. she starts to worry.

after that, we see tzuyu calling someone. she tried to call mina to tell her the thing that happened to the girls but ended up calling the guy instead. the guy thought that no one knew about the poisoning so when he heard what tzuyu said, he killed her so the killing wouldnt get exposed. (he didnt poison tzuyu)

tzuyu called when chaeyoung was on a date with him, so it was too late for chaeyoung, she got poisoned too. the guy left early to kill tzuyu. at the end, we see 9 doughnuts, (8 burnt 1 alive) which proves that 8 girls were killed (6/8)

jihyo and dahyun's story is different from the others, dahyun didnt know anything about the poisoning so she gave jihyo a doughnut (white one) which killed jihyo. then there's a flashback of the girls with doughnuts. dahyun realizes what she has done (there's scene of her with jihyo's doughnut which has blood on it) and she ends up killing herself with the brown doughnut (suicide). before she dies she wrotes miss u because she misses jihyo and the others. (8/8)

- also in a scene, dahyun shoots jihyo, and jihyo falls to a snowy place (heaven) she makes 2 snow angels because she knows that dahyun will come.

-the blood on jihyo's heart is a sign of poisoning too.

at the end, we see mina in a crime scene. she sees the doughnut and she releases what happened to other girls. she ends up crying because she couldnt save them.

“You know, you should get out more, like take up a yoga or painting class or something.” Sana was nonchalant as she suggested. The soulgroup had been trying to get you out of your hole for years. They thought you spent too much time in the shop or at home.

“You don’t need to worry about me. Getting out isn’t really my…thing.” You shrugged in response. It was true, you were completely content with just relaxing at home or being at the café. You weren’t the person to party or drink. It just wasn’t something you enjoyed.

“It’s just, the more places you go to, or things you do, the more likely it is you’ll meet your soulmates.” She explains with a saddened tone. They all hated watching you retreat into your shell. They knew that you thought it was too late for you to meet your soulmates and noticed how you stared at your soulmark when you thought no one was looking.

They just wanted you to be happy.

“That’s why I’m doing what I’m comfortable with. I’m going with you and Chaeyoungie to lunch and we’ll be there to hang out.” You appreciate their love and friendship, but you aren’t comfortable with putting yourself out there, even if it is to find your soulmates.

“And I’m happy you are going!” Sana squeals as she wraps her arms around your shoulders. “You never go to lunch with us!” She wasn’t wrong. It had been a long time since you had gone to lunch with one of your friends.

Within another five minutes you had made it to the restaurant, seeing Chaeyoung wave at you from her window seat. It seemed she made it early to grab you guys a table.

a space just for you

-- dahyun / tzuyu. 1.8k, fluff. MEN DNI.

dahyun and tzuyu watch the first snow together.

tzuyu kneels down and fills kaya and butter's bowls.

she'd bought some new food for them to try. smiles when they start eating without hesitation.

she turns, scoots over to another bowl carefully, and fills a third.

today, she has ari with her.

"ari-ah," tzuyu coos.

ari is more sceptical of the new food, and he stares blankly back at tzuyu.

"I promise it's good," she scratches ari's head for good measure. "your mom told me you eat less than kaya and butter, but i'll give you more if you like it, okay?"

tzuyu thinks ari definitely understands, because he picks up a single kibble, nibbles on it, and seemingly decides he does like it enough to continue eating.

"okay, tell me when you want more," tzuyu whispers, because speaking too loud would disturb the dogs' peaceful dinner, and she pats ari's head again.

she squats there, arms folded over her knees, until they finish their food. it's winter now, cold outside, but her company is warm.

"when do you think your mom's coming home?" she asks ari. she hopes dahyun wore enough layers today.

ari can't reply audibly, but tzuyu's pretty sure she knows what he's thinking.

"i miss her already too," she sighs, pouts so ari can tell that she's sad. dogs probably need more obvious social cues. "want more food?"

ari licks her, wags his tail.

"okay!" tzuyu grins, pinching ari's cheeks excitedly. she's happy ari's warming up to her. maybe he can be friends with kaya and butter soon.

"momo recommended this brand to me. she said boo and dobby really like it," tzuyu says, just to fill the silence. she imagines its similar to how she enjoys watching tv while she eats. "i think it's good for digestion, like bananas? and it tastes good too, right? hopefully you poop later!"

it's a little funny, it is; obviously one-sided – none of her dogs can talk – but it's fun. tzuyu likes talking to her dogs. she also likes talking to ari, and ari reminds her of dahyun.

soft and shy, polite smiles, tiny enough to lay on her chest.

tzuyu smiles, tilts her head sideways. "you know, you're just like dahyun."

ah, why is she talking to a dog about her girlfriend?

ari yips; maybe because he's already finished his extra portion, maybe because he'd recognised dahyun's name. kaya and butter yip back, and they start having a little private doggy conversation.

"do you all think you could live together permanently?" tzuyu asks, finding it quite endearing. their tails are wagging excessively fast, ears pulled down. "i want dahyun to live with me, but does ari want that?"

ari does a little spin and runs past tzuyu.

tzuyu pouts a little, turns her head to watch where ari went. he's disappeared behind a corner where the apartment entrance is, and tzuyu hopes it's not because the idea of living with her is so repulsing that he instantly wants to leave.

she finds ari clawing at the door, and her heart drops a little. "hey, is my apartment that bad?"

she's about to bend down and pick ari up but then the door clicks open, and ari is forced to step a few steps back. tzuyu scoops him up before he gets hit by the opening door.

"ari!"

...dahyun.

ari scrambles to leave tzuyu's arms, his excitement palpable. dahyun sets her bag down and makes grubby hands, grinning wide as tzuyu hands the ball of fluff over.

dahyun's home.

she laughs softly when ari licks her cheeks, and tzuyu can't help but smile.

dahyun's laugh is light and airy, fills their quiet little home perfectly.

there's something about hearing dahyun in the house, having dahyun come home to her.

"how was your day?" tzuyu asks, slotting herself in between dahyun’s arms.

"better," dahyun says. she leans in to bring a palm to the curve of tzuyu's jaw, guiding tzuyu in. "now that i'm here."

she presses her lips to tzuyu's, soft and sweet, a routine that has naturally come to be.

tzuyu deepens the kiss, hand to the back of dahyun's neck.

she might be taller than dahyun, but when dahyun coaxes her in like that, her shoulders slump so easily, and she moves like jelly, going wherever dahyun wants her.

there's a warm and slow sensation all over after, a messy knot untangling from the point of dahyun's lips.

the beginnings of a grin blossom, and she's not sure if it's just her or dahyun, or both of them.

tzuyu giggles, the kiss settling in like a warm blanket. they part slightly for air, giggling, noses touching.

“i heard it’ll snow today,” dahyun murmurs. ari tries to join the conversation by burying his snout in between them. “wanna go see?”

“you don’t wanna rest?” tzuyu asks, leaning back to make space for ari, but also to check if dahyun looked tired.

“all recharged now,” dahyun grins. “let’s go?”

it isn’t snowing yet when they come out, but they don’t mind.

they’ve seen snow together many times; it was a staple tradition for couples, after all. they know they do it just for the excuse to make their dates a little more special.

ari, butter, and kaya have scurried off to the field, and five has become two.

they start on their usual stroll, a route they frequent. dahyun curls her arm around tzuyu's, snug and close, and sometime in between, she slips a hand into tzuyu's pocket.

tzuyu's fingers find their way through dahyun's, intertwining wordlessly. they've done this a million times.

“what did i say about getting a coat?” tzuyu jabs, teasing.

dahyun tightens her hold. “who says i’m not doing this to keep you warm?”

tzuyu smiles. “yeah?”

“i’m a romantic,” dahyun declares.

it’s cheesy, it’s charming; it’s such a dahyun thing to say even if she’s the one huddling up to tzuyu for warmth.

they lean into one another as they walk, shoulders bumping, and it’s hard not to laugh when they’re stumbling over each other like that, like shy schoolgirls who can’t hold a conversation without giggling, amused about nothing but each other’s presence.

“you know,” dahyun had said, the first time they’d watch the snow. “people say if you see the first snow with someone you like, you’ll fall in love.”

dahyun had her eyes on the night sky; she was simply sharing a fun fact.

tzuyu had her eyes on dahyun; she wasn’t much interested in anything else.

“really?” tzuyu replied.

“yeah,” dahyun said. “and you’ll be together forever.”

they’d watched the first snowflake fall that day, side by side by a windowsill. tzuyu had hoped what dahyun said was real.

“do you remember when we first did this?” tzuyu asks. “in high school, in your room.”

“yeah,” dahyun says, resting her head on tzuyu’s shoulder. “you know, i’d already started liking you then. i don’t know if you noticed.”

maybe if they were still in the beginnings of their relationship, tzuyu would be surprised. but now, after spending more of her life with dahyun than not, it seems such a small part in all their other, infinite instances of falling in love.

“i don’t think i did. i was kinda distracted looking at you,” tzuyu admits, then laughs. “is that why you told me about that saying? something about snow?” she knows exactly what saying it is, has never stopped thinking about it since dahyun told her, but she wants dahyun to say it again.

“if you see the first snow with someone you like," dahyun recalls. "you'll fall in love."

tzuyu feels something on the tip of her nose, and looks up at the sky. white speckles in the night, gliding downwards. snow falls slowly, dahyun watches with her.

"and you'll be together forever," tzuyu continues, watching dahyun. "do you think it's real?"

dahyun raises both her palms up, leaving tzuyu's hold. she catches a few snowflakes in them.

"i don't think there's any harm in believing in it," she says, and shows tzuyu what she's caught. "i mean, it worked for us."

tzuyu remembers what she'd told ari earlier today, i want dahyun to live with me.

wonders if it's the right time to ask, to drop the question now.

dahyun shivers, and she shakes the snowflakes off, quickly tucking herself into tzuyu's coat. tzuyu takes the opportunity to lay a kiss on dahyun's forehead, enveloping her in a hug.

"we're forever?" tzuyu asks. she knows they are, she just likes hearing dahyun say it.

"longer than forever," dahyun says. she knows tzuyu knows, but she says it because tzuyu likes it. "if i die from hypothermia right now, i'll haunt you in my grave."

tzuyu giggles; a perfectly dahyun answer, just how she likes.

snow continues falling, dahyun's hair powdered in crystalline white.

"should we go home now?" tzuyu suggests.

"let's stay like this for bit," dahyun mutters, voice muffled. she has her face buried in tzuyu's chest, hands wrapped around. it's perfectly warm, where they are right now.

tzuyu stays still for dahyun, presses her lips to the top of dahyun's head and lets the snow build around them. they're quiet for so long, she almost wonders if dahyun's fallen asleep in her arms.

it's the type of hug where they go completely pliant, fitted into each other snugly. tzuyu squeezes tightly, and she feels dahyun’s shoulders rise and fall in a deep breath, burrowing into the crook of tzuyu’s neck.

kaya, butter and ari have found their way over, licking at the snowflakes on their shoes.

“can i stay over tonight again?” dahyun mumbles after some time. “i… don’t want to drive in the snow.” she doesn’t part from tzuyu yet.

“you can stay over every night, if you want,” tzuyu says, gives dahyun another kiss on the crown of her head. “i think ari’s starting to like kaya and butter.”

“yeah,” dahyun agrees. “ari would miss kaya and butter too much.”

“and me,” tzuyu says. “i gave him really good food today, you know."

"careful,” dahyun jokes, snickering. “he might start liking you more than me."

"it's okay, don't be jealous," tzuyu teases. she nudges her nose gently into dahyun’s hair, thinks her girlfriend looks incredibly pretty under snowflakes. "i like you more than him."

"i'm honoured," dahyun laughs, full and bright.

she pulls back, presses her palms to tzuyu’s cheeks and squishes them together. dahyun grins, the edge of her lips rising until her cheekbones show, melting a little at the sight.

“cute,” she says.

she tilts her chin upwards, stands on the tips of her toes, and kisses tzuyu’s puckered lips softly.

people say if you see the first snow with someone you like, you’ll fall in love.

dahyun is perfectly warm despite the winter, tzuyu finds.

"let's go home now?” dahyun asks.

and you’ll be together forever.

“lets go home.”

love is home and love is warmth and love is silly smiles and raising pets together and missing each other when you're not together! what is love if not writing those same things over and over again and never tiring of it <3

Twice mv theory

if you thought my doughnut theory was complicated, then im sorry, because this theory is even complicated for me and i didn't work it out fully, share your theories and opinions! i love theorizing <3

More and More mv

okay so I actually watched this mv quite often, and its way harder to make theories than for the doughnut mv.. (even tho i was working on that theory for weeks ngl)

but there are two things i immideatly noticed:

1. Nayeon, Mina and Dahyun

these 3 dont leave my mind while im theorizing about the mv.

and yes im gonna pull the adam and eve theory out of my ass again (there is something about them that twice uses so much???)

how pooks @allfortzu said, "adam and eve but make it gay" (lmao) but while thinking about it makes somehow sense.

maybe its a weird triangle-relationship or some other thing, im not sure about that part, but why would exactly they bite into the apple? why not chaeyoung? why not sana?

there is something about the three of them, maybe the way they did something in the twice verse that can be seen as a sin.

For Dahyun, I can only think of the doughnut theory, is her murder the cause for sining in the more&more mv?

if im already talking about dahyun, i need to include the scene she has with jihyo.

the way jihyo stands next to her, singing into the camera while dahyun doesn't move at all, maybe a confrontation?

(and i actually have no idea why jihyo turns into a horse)

dahyun has weird scenes in some mvs, sometimes all alone, (best thing i ever did mv, even though they all have scenes alone i cant stop thinking about her scenes)

about Nayeon and Mina tho, i actually have no idea, like not at all.

i think they never had any special scenes where you can be like "why did they bite into the apple?"

something in the twice lore makes mina be alone many times, for some reason.

you can see in the mv that there is a snake (which also exists in the adam and eve story) maybe its connected to Nayeon and mina?

I also find it weird why Nayeon, Mina and Dahyun are the only ones stepping into a place that seems like "a new world".

-> because of biting the apple?

going through, what looks like a Portal, into the new world, im not sure how that connects to the adam and eve thing but maybe it has again smth to do with that.

i would be glad to hear your thoughts on it, lets get to the second thing.

2. Jeongyeon

if you have seen atleast some of the twice mvs, you know that jeongyeon somehow plays an important role in it.

especially her black dress in the MORE&MORE mv made me think, because I dont think it was because the stylists dont care about her or something.

the way she stands there way in the back, alone, the black dress making her seem like an outsider, maybe something raven-like?

maybe its a warning, jeongyeon has had some "different scenes" since what happened in the fancy mv.

so we know that she touched the rose, touching a Spike that makes her pull away her hand, looking at the camera as, maybe, a sign?

this reminds me of the sleeping beauty, if you dont know who it is let me give u a quick explanation:

"Sleeping Beauty', a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, tells the story of a royal couple whose daughter falls into a hundred-year sleep as a result of the curse of an angry fairy after she pricks herself on a spindle."

yes, in the fairy tale it is an spindle, but you cant tell me that it doesnt seem odly familiar.

if we are talking about jeongyeon playing a particular role in the twice lore, we cant not talk about the i cant stop me mv.

(lets ignore how icsm is about sex) but the lyrics are, obviously, talking about about not being able to stop themselves, wanting to give into the desire.

but why is it important?

because jeongyeon plays the role of a "rescuer"

now hear me out.

jeongyeon drives the motorcycle, where?

to the table where all the members sit, she lands on it, maybe trying to save them?

wanting to stop them from giving into the desire?

trying to save them from something?

I remember watching the mv as a baby once, being confused of why jeongyeon is completly alone, while all the other members have someone else (e.g. michaeng, motzu etc.)

of course, they are 9, someone will be alone, but they couldve just made one group of three?

and again, I dont think its because the directors of the mv have smth again jeongyeon or smth.

something changed after touching the rose, something happened to jeongyeon.

every mv after the fancy mv involves jeongyeon in a special scene, something that can be interpreted in many ways, but it seems like she is trying to do something, she is different than the other members.
